About This Class

Whether it’s because of simple nostalgia — taking us back to a rainy Saturday morning spent with a fresh box of pencil crayons and a brand-new coloring book — or because of the claims that coloring helps to reduce stress, the adult coloring book craze shows no signs of stopping. Adult coloring books are generally printed on a higher quality of paper, with much more intricate designs than those made for children. And the price usually reflects these differences.

So wouldn’t it be nice if we could create our own?

In this class, I’m going to show you the exact process that I use to create mandala style adult coloring book pages.

In the first lesson, I’ll show you how to set up your document and create your guidelines. In lesson 2, you’ll learn how to create and place symbols so that Illustrator does all the hard work for you. In the next lesson, I’ll show you exactly

  • how I created my coloring page,
  • some tips and tricks for correcting common problems,
  • how to easily create some common shapes,
  • and how to quickly fill up your page.

And finally, I’ll show you how to give your coloring page a finished look.

This course is easy enough for beginners to follow, but the end results are beautiful enough that even advanced Illustrator users will want to follow along to create their own coloring book page.

And the best thing about this class is that the same basic process can be used over and over again to create many different mandala coloring pages.

The end results are limited only by your imagination.

And when you’re done, you’ll not only have a project to share with the class, you’ll also have a beautiful design that you can print out and color, give away as a free download on your blog, or you could even create a series of pages to sell on websites like Etsy, or print them out and have them bound into a book to give to friends and family as an inexpensive homemade gift.
