About This Class

In this class I’m going to teach you how to create a macrame candle jar. I’m going to talk about the materials,  how to measure your cord so you can use any size of jar that you have. I’m going to show how to attach your cord and we’re going to use only one basic knot to create the pattern. You’ll see that if you use one knot creatively, all those tiny knots are going to create a beautiful pattern together!

This class is ideal for beginners and those who are looking for a great handmade and inexpensive gift or decoration idea that is easy, quick and fun to create.

For this class, you will need macrame cord (or rope, yarn, etc. ... I used twine because it’s easy to get from the corner shop), a glass jar (any size - we’ll measure the cord to the jar so as long as you can put a ‘candle’ in it it’ll work perfectly), scissors,  a book to help attaching your cord and a pencil to mark it.

I also recommend to listen to some calming music, or whaterever you like while you create. You can hear Embrace by Sappheiros in the videos.

1. About the course: Hi, I'm king up and welcome to my class where I really hate you. How to create this macro Make and nurture using only one basic. Not this class is for you. If you are a big in the red Macro May and would like to start with an easy and fun project . Or if you're just looking for a great handmade and inexpensive gift idea in this class, you're going to learn how to choose your material, had to measure your and at a chair court and had to use amazing, not creatively, to create your own Mac Ramaker. There is so many different macro me nuts out there, and I think it's pretty good what you can do with only one basic notes and create. Don't forget to click, Follow and let's get 2. Materials: even in the book, a pair of scissors, a glass chair I soaked in empty pesto, inborn voter to get rid off the labor, a pen, CIA, Makram, a cord or rope or any Kotaro. That is not to think or say in here. I used twine and a little piece of paper to help you keep the distance between the notes. 3. Measuring length : so to begin, he winning to measure and cut ropes, you will need my rope that are going toe rep around your job, so it doesn't need to be an exact length. You need Teoh just to be able to tie around the book that you're going to use, and you need to mark the exact length off the neck off the job because you're going to get a cheer robes in between to mark that you just made. So next I would need 72 hanging cords or any number that I can divide by eight. I'm going to measure and cut. My rope is measured 2.5 off the length off the job and put it in half. That forms a loop in one end, and I'm going to make 31 off this for this better so 2.5 off the job for it and has to make a loop and keep forging robe. So I really need certain one of these so each of the 31 court records will make to hanging court and that it was 72 chords together. But if it's too many are not enough for your job. Ah, you can work made any number that can be divided by eight because we're going to work in sections with eight chords at a time. So when you think you finish, you need to find the loose on. And, um, I'm going to cut orderly loops in one end and keep the loops in the other end. 4. Practicing the knot: if you're a beginner, here is the video to understand and practice the note that we're going to use if you know how to tie. The LAX had not on the square note. You can skip this section first. I'm going to need a longer rope tow, rap and tyrant book and four course fold it in half. So I'm just going to tie the longer cord around the book using a basically shoeless. Not and I'm going toe touch the ropes by using larks head not to the rope. I'm going to for the one piece off roping have to formally loop in one end, and I'm going to talk that loop under the court that I already attached to the book or wrapped around book. Foot it over and pull the tooth rings through it. And I'm just going to fight in it. And that makes relax. Had not so again one piece of rope for the half Ducat andr for a little. We'll put the two middle strength through it and that beneath I'm going to need two more off this to create the back turn that we're going to use for the and I'm just going toe, foot it over and turned the book around for the next step because I like that pattern better for the practicing, the next notice called the Square Not, and this is the one that we're going to use creatively to create the pattern. So as we need four strings to create, it's not, and I'm just going to pull the other four strings to the side. I'm going to take the two outer ones, and I'm going to cross the left all over the to middle strings to form a loop on the left side. I'm going to put the right rope over the left one and then tuck it under the to middle strings and through the loop, and I'm going to tighten it, and this is half off the square knot and then I'm going to do the opposite. So I'm going to cross the right rope over the two middle strings to form a loop on the right, and I'm going to put the left group over the right one and then tuck it behind the to middle middle ones and through the loop and then tighten it, and that makes a square knot. So again over the middle runs, then tuck it under through the loop and did it. I'm going to make another square in it. So to square nuts, the four strings to create the pattern. And then I'm just going to pull the other four strings next to it and do the same with them for the next, I'm going to use the same knots and the spacer, a little piece off paper about one centimeter wide and five centimeter long to have me keep the space between the knots. So I'm going to need four strings to Formula One. So I would put aside to on the left side and two under the right side, and I'm going toe, hold the to middle strings and then put the piece off paper over it. And I'm going to put the two sides strings over the piece off paper, and I'm just going to do the exact same square. Know that I did already. So every form a loop with on the left side, the left string over the two middle strings and under the right one, the right one over the left strings behind the to middle strings and through the loop and I'm just going to tighten it. So this is the half off a square knot and I'm going to do the opposite toe, create other half. I'm just going to put former loop on the right, put the right ah, rope over the middle strings and behind the left. One and the left, one behind the to me, the strings and through the loop, and I'm just going to tighten it. So on the pattern, this is going to be going all over the better. So one role. And I'm just for the practicing and is going to do the next throw. The second role film. I'm going to use the four strings on the side to make two more off this film. Harder to meet the strings put their low piece off paper over it and under the two sides strings and exact same. Not in the square. Not a little loop on the left side. And the right string was true and tight in it, and from the other side of the loop on the right side, the left strength pulled through it and tighten it and more with the other four ropes on the side. So this one again, Going to go around the little chair. So for the next one, I'm going to use eight ropes. I'm just going to put the six minute strings together, formerly loop on the left side and put the left rope over the middle ones. And under the right one took the right one behind the middle ones and through the open, tighten it half off a square knot again. So we're going to I'm going to do the other half for my loop on the right side, over the middle strings, and then put the left one behind the middle strings and through the loop and just tightening it and they're low. Petr is ready to go. 5. Start your project : So first I'm going toe wrap the longer court around the book, the court is marked. So I know exactly how long, uh jar's neck is and how I will And the This is the area where I will place and a touch the court. So there are the markings and I'm just going to attach till ropes to the markings with the larks Had not so again the ropes air forded and hubs on one. And there is a little hope that I'm going to talk under the robe for it over, pull through the to middle strings and then tighten it. And I'm just going to do the same on the at the end. And this is going to be the planks where we're going toe touch at the ropes. So I'm going to touch. Sorry, one minus still. So 29 ropes between the space tuck it under, fall it over birth through the to me the strings and starting it and keep going until it's filled up with strings. Remember, for the pattern we're going to work in seconds is with eight ropes or eight strings in age . So you're going to need, um, the number off ropes that can divide it by eight. I used 72 ropes here. - So when it's ready, I'm going. Teoh, take off from the book. And, uh, there are two sides off the pattern, so I'm going to use the one that I like better facing outwards. And I'm just going toe rep around the neck off Charles and right in it. So I don't need those two strings, so I'm just going to tuck them in. The job can deliver only strings that I have attached to the rope. 6. Create the pattern: So first, the I'm going to work in sections of four courts. The time I'm going to create two square notes with this for court, I'm going to take the left court for a little opened. Cross it over the two middle chords and under the right guard, and I'm going to take the right chord behind the middle chords, ends through the loop and tighten it, and I'm going to repeat it from the opposite side. So start with the right course, cross it over the middle, ones under the left one, take the left guard behind the middle ones and through the room and tighten it. And I'm just going to do it one more time with this forecourt and that I'm going to move the next one and repeated all over the chair. - So for the next section, I'm going to need the little piece off paper one centimeter wide and four off five centimeter long. So to have me keep the distance between the notes, I'm going to need the four strings two from each one middle and wants the side one out of court from the pattern that were already created. And I'm going to put a little piece of paper on the to middle strings, and I'm going to put a toe outer strings over the piece off paper. And I'm going to create a square, not from the left again. So little upon the left side. Put them, put it over the two middle strings. And then I took the right string behind it, and through the little band tightening and more. So I'm going to do only one square, not here. This is half and half is from the right. Then I'm going to take this fourth court to decide and move to the next four court to create more. And I'm going to re trip eat this all the way around the jar again. - Uh , so for the next section, I'm going to make another role. So I'm going to need be going to need for robes. Ah, one middle and one outer from each side. So I'm going to use, uh, the paper piece of Gampel it on the two middle string on create a square knot, and I'm going to continue thes all the way around the to her. So for the next section, I'm going to create a giant square knot. I need eight strings for that. I'm going to use for strings from one square note and two from two more strings from east Side. So I'm going to hold us six middle strings together and the two outer strings separately. And I'm going to create the square note with the two other strings. So I'm just going to form a little on the left, put the left string over the middle strings and the right strings, be right strings behind it, ends through the loop and tighten it and number from the other side Creator Loop on the right side. Put the right string over the middle strings and the left string behind it and police through the roof anti to meet and just continue all the way around the job. - And once those air done, you can see that if you use one basic, not creatively. All those tiny notes are creating a really pretty pattern together 7. Final steps : and now I'm almost ready. I just need to cut the end. I like to put the child on the buffet can, but he can just hold it up toe. I'll ever to see where to cut. Thank you for joining to my class. I hope you had fun and I can't wait to see your project. So don't forget to share them in the project Gallery Click, follow and see you next time.
