1. Introduction: Hello, everyone. I'm denying an artist and an instructor, and I welcome you all to my skin shock loss of today, which is Ah, very easy beginner level, simply Florida red. So that's my absolute favorite toe paint on the are sold and loved and well received, but everyone receives them. I thought today I'm just going to take you step by step through all the processes I use in creating a Florida. Yet, since today's class is recorded in real time, it's literally a peek into my mind off. What I think what I'm doing when I'm actually creating art. Andi, I really hope you enjoy this class and this method of editing. So please let me know in the comments what you think off it, so that I keep that in mind and improving my next class. So with that little introduction, let's just get right into the class 2. Materials required: let us take a look at the materials that are required for this particular project. So these are the first and foremost these other watercolor Carlos that we will be using. Well, some of them will be using them. When there were in some off them, we'll be mixing with the others to create the shade and are kind of colors we want s The colors are Australian green, gold Australian, uh, leave green dark. So these two colors are my absolute favorite. Then we have black. We have cadmium yellow you. But any warm here will do the job we have. Ah, one million. Any warm red should do the job. Then we have suffering from Winsor and Newton. We have cerulean blue, We have rose madder permanent Royce on and white from This is a local Australian brand. So why do we use right? I know that most water Colorado's do not recommend or do not ah, find the need tohave right in watercolors. That's because watercolors itself for such a transparent and ah, beautiful medium that you can really get away most of the times without using right on. If you really need right, you need to just leave it as a part of the people. But in my case, I really like to add right to make certain tones of colors that I want because I need them , Toby. Like they still even when they are, take not just spend the A 10. So that is a reason off me having writer. If you will see in the father's actions, you will know that I will be mixing most of my watercolors with right so those other water can opinions. Next. Other watercolor brushes. So we have the very popular silver black velvet size six. This is just a round brush. Then we have the round me brush size three. This is around Russia's way, and this is my absolute and most favorite brush, not because of the brush itself, because of how usedto I am with this brush on git has been with the for the last eight years or even more. I can't remember. But, uh, just because I'm so familiar with this brush, I think this is my favorite brush. Um, for those who find Blackwell word slightly to table at the end, which I feel that it's slightly too pointed, I would have liked it if it was a little blunt or towards the end. Um, but it's not. So I have this other brush from whole craft. This is again an Australian round of size it a round brush. So basically, you will need any round brushes off different sizes. Preferably like three or four. Then we have another like five or six and then it so that you know, you can really very the leaves. Next, you will need the clean water off course. You will need a dish life. No, sorry. Don't dish. I wouldn't even saying you will need a kitchen Tobin or some old drag. Um whichever. You're comfortable with the wipe off excess pains, we need a palette. This one is a power that I made. It's a seashell palette. You see, these are all the beautiful decisions. And if you follow me on instagram Oh, you know that I made this last weekend. I absolutely love how it is. Although I do use other pilots, All of them are currently filled with color. And so we can just start with a fresh one. Onda Last but not least, the war watercolor paper. So the watercolor paper we will be using today is this one by Windslowe a quarrel. It's a 200 GSM cold pressed, acid free paper. However, if you want it for heavy washes or if you're a kind of a big no, we're still trying to get a handle. How much water to use or not that I don't recommend this because there's a little truth 10 for heavier washes. But for two days, project, which is is fun and light. This people will do the job, and I know I said, this is the last one but really some kind off compass or some around be so that we can just draw a circle off the red. Yeah, I think that's the all the materials that is required for today's class and with all this prepared and said, we can continue toe the glass 3. Understanding the brush: we begin the actual project itself and colors and everything fun. I just want to just dedicate the section toe brushes because, ofcourse, they are such an important tool. And it's really important that we understand our brushes and the brushstrokes that the providers with before anything is. So before we proceed to the actual project, I would like you to take a minute or two to just understand what your brush is capable of providing you, Andi, just to have love a better understanding with your brush. So, uh, what I mean by this is so I want to see what are them? Just strokes that a possible with this brush so I can do a nice see comas can do it on top . I can do ah longer stroke. I can do this. Can I do a street line? A thin line. Also, this exercise will just help you get comfortable with a brush. Um, now, as you see, the lines from this brush are a little bit to think for my liking. I'm so that cities and I have the Blackwell, right, because the tip is so pointed, which that's the reason That so thing I love about this brunches. It's so pointed that it will give you extremely 10 lines, which is not possible with my other brushes. So, of course you can go fiddle like a fine line of brush, but they don't carry enough water, and so you can't extend them to a longer distance. And that's why I love Ah Blackwell bird for fine 10 lines like you see, these kind of tin extremity lines are not possible with my galoshes. So this is the reason. Just take a minute total on, understand what your brush skin provide, And this is especially true if you are dealing with a new brush. Like when I got this brush, I tried it in every angle on every possible stroke with it, so that I could just get comfortable and see what it's capable off, especially to in case of Dhaka brushes, fine dress shoes. This exercise will help you discover something you are. You're sure? So with that little understanding, let's just proceed to the next section 4. Wet on wet technique: So let's take one final little pit stop before we reach the project itself. And that is the wet on wet blending Take me or the control bleeding. So in the control bleeding technique, what we do is for a flower or leaf. This is a technique that's used throughout the red, so please practice along with me. So the thing is, you take a little bit off color, and this time you wonder. Wash Toby really light. Can you put it like just put a battle on the people? Now you take take paint off the same color or a darker version, and this pointed at the end and bush the color into the picture. Baby oven. It's moist, so it shouldn't be too red. Children be to dry. It should be just vet enough for the water toe for the being to spread in the water and create that gorgeous grading that only watercolor s capable off. See for the next two guys. I'm not even taking that much color. I'm just allowing the color toe bleed into the water to create Ah, very unique, gorgeous blend. So I didn't really think, but you can certainly go ahead and wait with purple or blue just in the same job for the greedy int is going a little black in the centre. So this control bleeding is what I love about watercolor because it just makes everything look so beautiful and romantic, which I think is an extremely posted in quality to the medium off watercolor. So let me show you another example. So I'm just going to take a very, very little paint to put in water. It shouldn't be soaking wet and shouldn't be true. Try to just be like the perfect amount off fitness. So and then I'm gonna take a darker version or tico paint of the Team Canada and just put it towards the end. If you're not happy with the bleed, then just go and feel free to extend the bleeding up to the region you want. And then especially for flowers which are return angle. I love toe put green at the border to just similarly the bud or the please, where it connects to the stem. And this particular technique would look absolutely beautiful when it comes to leaves. So this is just very, very little pigment and then you draw the ship on you to draw the leaf using your brush and then take concentrated color and just push it in. Dude. Oh, wait. Area toe, achieve this wonderful, radiant watercolor bleed. You have no plaque business to get the water right. But once you do practice it, you left only be elected. I want to just show you another kind of technique is just use plain water and draw a pattern in this case, a leave and now the color of your choice. And I know it to work magic. So this way you can yearly come up with leaves that are mull different. I mention like it is in nature. And that would look more natural because it has more depth and character. So you see. So with this little exercise, I think we have come of you, finally reach the destination, which is the actual water correct itself. So let's proceed to that 5. Flowers of the wreath: let us start the red mean start the red by doing this so quickly in the middle off the paper, the said the diameter of the SoCal can really, um, depend on you whether you want a big or small today, I'm just going for most likely be goes. Okay, well, the challenges and directors, the composition Let it really needs to be as symmetrical as possible. Adviser, look a little off. So that's the key factor in determining the your it is gonna be beautiful or not is to keep it as symmetrical as possible and to keep the balance in terms of color on the shapes Uniformed road direct. So first, I'm going to start with a pink flower right at the border, and I'll do some notes of pink on top and a little bit so that it looks all uniform. Like I thought in the previous section, we're going to use the water color bleeds controlled water color bleeds, you know, in this part. So take your own time because this is something you really need to enjoy and, um, relax with, So take your own time and use this bleeding technique to really create beautiful flies. So these are just normal off laws which are facing up but told in the end. So I'm just going at a little bit off green in the end. And there you go. Let me show you how I create the same flowers again and so they'll be They'll slightly be a balance. So I'm just gonna take one stroke down, do another few strokes toe the same. Nothing to perfect because new tourism perfect. And that's how we really love it. So use the control bleeds toe more Colotto age is that you think is needed so they go. So I've added So now I'm gonna go small Think buds here, which is just once drew down keeping the brush a triangle to I'm gonna do a few pink buds. I had some Carlo towards the bottom and this is true especially with but I do it for everything but with But I really I really like that bottom to be as diffused as it can be because they look really, That's how natural rules, but are If you observe now, I really want to go with tiny buds as well, because let's try to keep it as in perfect yet perfect. If that makes any sense. So that's what we're going for. So if you see, I have added some think you're so that balances out the pink at the bottom about it a little bit off pink. Your I think this area will be empty, so I'm just going to add a little bit off. Think there as well. Just this kind of flung It is nothing toe crazy. Okay, once we got that covered, now I'm gonna proceed to the beach or the coral flats. The quarter flaws. What I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna on a c facing up. So this is something like the sea like that. I've done a c and now on the talk, I just want to at some strokes. And this makes it look like off lands slightly like blooming. So now I'm gonna add some color to the border. I just wanted to diffuse, So I'm gonna you see if the color is not defusing enough, that means that the quantity of water is not right. So just make sure you add some water so that the paint has some water to actually go ahead and refuse And now I'm gonna take a little bit of black and just added to the center while it's still right. Don't vet, but Damp, actually, dump is the word scare. I might even add a little bit off yellow. Yeah, juiced. Just because I want that Yeah, that looks nice. And I'm going toe similarly at a few more floods like that. Now, I'm gonna just add a few buds. Your, uh So now that this portion is done, I want to balance it out again. As I mentioned before, with some kind off coral, Uh, with some kind of cultural thing happening, you're so I think I'll just go for some buds. You see, this is this might happen to you as well. They're just days, and that's not how it should be. So I'm more water and defuse it in areas where you wanted to be defused. And then, as with all my but I'm just going to quickly before it dries. I green here, it's already drying, so I'm gonna just a bit off more talk so that the green has some water to go ahead and diffuse the remaining. I just want to drag it down for it to become stems. So just going ahead a few off the sea, more coral floods here. Next is off course, the light blue flowers, Which again I my absolute absolute favorite. So this fire is gonna be really like a closed bud. So I'll just take one, see stroke filled, the other stroke with water because I want really that diffused look and then quickly before it drives them. You know, add though green toe and light blue and light greeters, It just looks so beautiful together. So take one stroke. I used to do that. The stroke with water, so that that being refuses and thanks. So this kind of blue flies, you can repeat wherever you want. So this set up ready, we can proceed to the leaves. So before we go with the actual leaves, I like to go ahead with this thin brush or whichever has appointed tip and just draw the red line so that we have that in. Please. You don't worry about the line being exactly circular or north, because really, um, if it's in perfect, it's not gonna look bad at all, So I'm going to go ahead with one or two lines, even rather than just one so that they look like a people 6. Leaves of the wreath and conclusion: this whole section, I'll be using three kinds of leaves. So the first why not will be a little small. The 2nd 1 will be a little bit for the 3rd 1 will be even small. Also, let us do that's a forced leave. I'm going to go ahead with light. Just add a little bit off dark toe the tip. Excuse me. It will create the control bleeding effect. So Maior rule for the lyfors point press drag and lift. And then you add So you wanted the end. Somebody is going to repeat that, which is point pressed drag lift point press drug lift. So those are the big things that I'm going for. I'm going a couple of these and the other side as well so that they look uniform. I'm gonna fast forward this bit next time worded. The mint agree in which we mean and create little branches in places the places you left, which is actually not a lot, but yeah, just creating some branches for this sap green. Don't be very particular because we're going to cover them up anyway. So now I'm happy with their older branches. Are I understand? One year Yeah. Now what you do is you can create tiny leaves off thes around us. Something's going a little like that. So one toe produce it is that point. Just don't don't drag a lot. It's just it's almost like a stain ceiling effect. So this itself we know complete. But if you want to add more of sort of, you know, Morelia's to your read, then we can all again build up on the flowers and leaves. But before that, I'm just going toe give all these floating but a way to join the Jack. And now what I'm gonna do is just go ahead and read like Julie Tiny leaves because they just good. It's just good to have a variety off leaves in your project, because then it looks more natural. I'm gonna go with some broader leaves now because all the leaves are teen and long, so broader leaves will enhance the balance off the red. So let me add a few broad leaves to the red now so that the lead looks full. Andi, these broad leaves can offset the land and the with off the smaller ones. So if you go over there by doing body because sometimes movies can go overboard. Great. So nothing to worry. So I'm gonna add broader leaves throughout the red just to balance the red To think off it . Think off. Read this way. If you have small leaves at broad leaves, if you have small, if you have big flat at smaller buds, all of them will help to make the red full and lunches and so much more symmetrical and violence. And as you see just before this, you might have thought that the red is complete and just a small addition off adding the brotherly makes a small but really, um, measurable impact to the whole right. I think I'm pretty happy, but how that is turned out. And I hope you were happy as well, with how you ordered has note. So I'm just going to add some finishing touches to the red, which is, um, which is I feel like it's, you know, when you look at something and you think that off, there's everything but there's something missing. And you know what? I really know what that something is on. I want it to feel fresh. It does feel bright and fresh but I wanted to feel more bright and fresh, which is why I am going to be adding it's like really small emerging buds. You will see in a minute how the small change can make such a big difference. And this is what these are. The challenges. I think that I'm dealing with the red, sometimes everything, but there's something slight that's missing. So if you see someone, I'm just a small bud just like it's just about to bluemel. Just about even sprout. It's a baby, but do you see what I mean? I feel like even few Chinese floats off leaves. If you observe a plant, you will see that the new leaves will be coming out in their tiny and fresh on. That's the sign off prosperity off a plant, really, and that's what I want to sure. In this red which was missing, someone had that that's tiny, tiny leaves. So I think once you see this, you will agree that it's not alone. It's it's start dumb. It's not a huge change, but it's it is a change which you will notice. And I think these are the details that just make everything stand out, but just these little, little tiny leaves And but sure that you know this fresh life coming and do the street, which makes it so much more complete to some. I mean, sound totally, totally, man, but that's what I That's what I was thinking when I was, um when I was wondering if I should just close the red our extended a bit. These were the exact thoughts that were going on in my mind, and I just thought it would be a good thing to share it with you. She's going on some young I'm glad a big leaf your because I just think that this area needs to be a little full of its. The ball was a base off the red the sea and goes to your I'm gonna just a few leaves. So the dealer like, actually, is we just like few doubles that give the illusion off having the clusters off leave then? Yeah, you know this last bodies option, but you know, I'm gonna do it. It's splatters splatters on my favorite thing to do in watercolors. So there are different types of splatter off course, So I just love toe. If I'm going for the dining ones. I'll just stop. If I want slightly larger ones, I will do this. So I just love this pattern as well. So it's really up to you If you want, you go for this. Platters ends. We can end the threat with that.
