Project Description
Design a family crest.
ASSIGNMENT
Celebrate your grandma and all the weird shit your dad says by designing your family crest. This assignment is a great way to practice logo design — understanding shape, type and color — but not for a band or brand that won't be around tomorrow, for your family legacy.
DELIVERABLE
Upload your family crest. A finished crest includes:
- Your family name
- Laurel and banner
- Symbol(s) representing items meaningful to your family lore
- Colors that represent your family (those colors can be B/W)
- For fun, a meaningful family phrase or saying
RESOURCES
- I threw together the attached Illustrator doc with plenty of shield/crest shapes that you can pull from. As you will see, they are all just derived from basic shapes...I wasn't kidding about that stuff!!
