1. Introduction: hello and welcome in the local animation in after effects use where you will learn how to make an interesting engaging an on trend local animation. My name is hard and I'll guide you through this animation step by step. I designed this class to show you how to properly use after effects and show you little known tricks about the program, which only approach. I want you to be more confident with motion graphics and know how to create this animation , which people use a YouTube pound of branding videos and all over the Internet. We will go together through the entire animation, will divide. Our composition will work with key frames. We'll add some effects and had some cameras. Since this is a real life example, we don't evaluate what we did well do. Some weekly fading and off course, we'll organize our product so it's ready to use either for you or your clients. You'll be more comfortable working in after effects and be able to complete professional projects. This will be a local animation serious where in each class I'll teach you a different animation, a different approach and a completely different design. The ideal student for this class is either someone who wants to get into after effects and complete his first serious project or someone who wants to sharpen your skills. He goes. I'll also share intermediate and advanced for those who want to know all the defects, take a look at the animation. We are going to great in this class. If you are curious how to do such an animation, how to package it, how to work an after effect to create such a project and roll now and I'll see you inside. 2. Dividing the COMPOSITION: welcome. In the first lesson off our logo animation, we'll go straight ahead and create the composition we'll use. I hit the new composition button and I create an age decomposition 30 frames per second and I want adoration off. Five seconds. I'll hit five and adult. This will indicate that this is five seconds. OK, we have our five seconds composition now. I want to be pixel perfect this time. So So I'll enable some guides and create them. Please do the same. Click on this button to unable title action. Safe title action safe. Enable some basic guidelines around the composition. I'll also enable rulers because I want to set several rulers in the composition now to be efficient and work quick, do it like that. Take it from the left side. Place one in the middle one here and for around this composition. 12 three, four Now with disc role will I want to get closer and make them pixel perfect. By having the move to selected, I'll place them perfectly in the middle and perfectly here on the corners. Please do the same in your composition and we see each other in the second. Okay, This is the result I want you to get. Since we have it already prepared, I released the title action Safe because we already have enough rulers to make it. Once you have that prepared, please go to the tool box and select the rectangle tool. You can press Q A new keyboard or select the simple rectangle. Now I want to start in the middle and create four rectangles around the composition. Now I need to click away so it's de selected, and once again click in the middle and go away to the corner. I'm starting in the middle because you see this little object. This is called an anchor point. The anchor point will tell when we make the animation later that the animation will spread from here if we resize it, dis electing, making another rectangle like this, the selecting and another the fourth and last rectangle like this. Now I want to call them, for example, by hitting the rectangle, hitting enter and calling it left bottom right bottom. You can call it as you want, but it will be easier to work if we see the names. We will also make some animations later So once we keep frame and so on, it will be easier for us to see. All right, This was the right one. This was the left top one. This will simply make the work easier. Okay, If you'll have all four rectangles prepared, please select all of them. Close them. So you have four of them here. You should be on the same spot where I am. And this is the groundwork in the first step towards or logo animation, I'll go slowly, step by step so you can follow everything. If you are in the same spot, please continue to the next lesson. Thank you very much for watching. 3. Creating the LOGO Comp: welcome in the follow up lesson where we will continue to make our logo animation in this lesson, I want to create the actual composition. Were the logo will be placed for that? I once again create a new composition I'll call the composition logo. I have a style of naming the compositions in which I change the logos in brackets because this is a very important composition. You can call it, for example, place logo here or as you want, but in my case, I always call it Big logo in brackets, 80 size 30 frames and generation won't matter because the duration should be at least as long as the animation. It's set to five seconds. That's perfectly fine with me. Okay, as we have to a local composition here, police place any text here or any logo you have. Just so we have a preview of what we are doing. For example, place logo here. I have a simple aerial fund. All right. I can go to the alliance, have aligned it perfectly in the middle, and okay, we have to local composition. We go back to our camp one. The thing you want to do is to take the local composition and place it inside of this composition. I should also rename this composition. Please go to composition, composition settings and I'll code animation. So we have a better reference for it. As you have the local composition here, please Duplicated four times. Click on the composition. 123 I can press control the or community If you are on the Mac now, this will be really the fun part. Please place each composition under the according box. I'll place this box under left box this under write books, right? Okay. We have everything prepared. Now we need to set the track. Matte and the parenting options tell each local composition halo composition. I take this snail and this is your parent also in the TrackMan. All four mud, right, left. And now is the moment where you tell me why am I so stupid? Because that's off. Course not. Right left that left top. I don't know why I wrote this Sorry for this little sloppy mistake. Okay, I take the next logo Information Alphabet, right top. And this is your parent. Parenting allows us to shift this layer and this layer will follow along. If you don't see the track matte and moat options, you can click the second button to enable it or press F four on your keyboard. Okay, this is your parent, remember? And he's Alfa matted. This is your parent and he's all formatted. We have the basis for our animation. The last step I want to do in this lesson is to enable three D for all of those layers because later on, we will work with cameras and cameras. Need our composition to be treaty enabled. We have prepared our composition for work. In this lesson, you created a local composition. You place the local composition four times in the animation composition and you track matted and parented. It would the right layers. If you are on the same spot where I am, please continue to the next lesson. 4. KEYFRAMING the animation: Finally, the boring stuff is over. Now we will work on the animations in our lower composition and watch. How cool is this now? Because we will work with the rotations. Police press on any blue shape, layer and press are We will work with one off the rotations. In my case, this will be why Rotation and you should also start like that. And the cool thing is that I don't have to harm this local composition. I can simply work with this composition and the local composition will follow because they are parented together. Okay, I'll work with the UAE rotation. And how do I want this? I want this to be perfectly invisible in this place. So it's 90 degrees and I will set a key frame one second later. Or maybe this will be too quick. Or maybe this will be to slow 20 frames later. You can make sure that you are 20 frames forward here in the left side and I'll raise another key frame. And this key frame will be zero because I wanted to be back in the place. All right. The first animation goes in like that. Go to the next one press are press on the Y rotation at the beginning and make the angle you want. I want this angle this time also 90 degrees. I'll go forward to the same spot. I place another key frame and I make zero. Because on this spot, I want everything to come back. I'll do the same for the last two layers I press are. And this time maybe you want the next access because we don't want it to be boring. That's really depends what effect you want to achieve. What information you want to do. You have total freedom here. Uh, at the end, it should be maybe. Why here and ex here at the end, it needs to be 00 degrees. But here at the beginning, we can shuffle with it around. It can go even further, for example, to an amount off. Negative 1 20 Okay, negative. 1 20 year. That's okay. And this one. Oh, sorry. We you work with the ex? Um, I don't know if this will look proper now, the we'll go somewhere here. So you go positive 120 degrees. Now, this is basically the animation you should have created now please go forward and press space. Well, it isn't so perfect, is it? Don't worry about that. I presume you to close everything because later, as we will follow with the animation, we will move it along. Forward, Forward, Forward. And this would already look more interesting because it will not be one after another. They will slowly fade in If you already with the key frames and with the animations, please select all of them. Press you check if you have all the key frames here and if you want to be really precise, I will close this down once again. I'll move them along. Right now, maybe 10 frames or 10 frames will be a bit too much. But that doesn't matter. No. 20 frames select the next layers. Okay, one second. The very last layer. Now let me preview if this looks OK, well, a bit slow of its low. But that's no problem. I press once again. You I select all key frames, right? Click a key frame assistant and easy east to make the animation flow a little bit better. Enter the design. All right, that's it. That's it for this lesson in the next lesson, we will finally go to the meat off the content where we will work with cameras. Thank you very much for watching. And I'll see you in the second. 5. Adding CAMERAS: Now this gets better and better. You should be at the same place where I am, where you have the simple animation preferred and we will now work with cameras. Cameras are a really very, very exciting feature in after effects, and there could be separate courses just on this topic. But for the sake of this animation, we'll use a really simple camera. Tricks, please. Right click here on the timeline Press New and select camera. It can be a simple 35 millimeters camera with this angle of view and the focal length to the default settings off 30 tree I'll set okay, and I have my first camera. I also right click hit new and hit an ill object. Anil object is very useful because it helps us to control the camera. I don't have to mess around with key frames only inside the camera. I can use the null object for that to make it simpler for you. I presenter and I call it cameraman. Okay, we have our cameramen and I'll select the camera as you remember. Please parent it two cameramen, so the camera will always follow the cameramen, and that's a really awesome future because because I can click on the selection tool, moved the cameramen and the camera will follow automatically. Okay, that's very cool. To make it even more. Stand out. I select the color toe folks here or something Really eye popping, so I know. Hey, that's the most important stuff here, dude. That's the camera. Please show some respect. The first thing you want to do is click on the camera and press P. We see the default position off the camera is a negative 1800. So I go to about this place where somewhere the animation finishes like here. Two it appears to be one second and maybe 20 frames to be exact. And I place a key frame. I also want to go to the beginning or here. So I see it. And I want to lower this amount to about maybe 1000 will be OK, So let's select 1000. Sorry. I selected 100 1000 OK. And I placed this key frame here. What this will do to this entire composition The entire composition will slowly go in until it's here. Oh, I see. I've made some mistake here. I know why? Because I wanted to make it negative. 1000. I'm really sorry for the sloppy mistakes. Okay, From negative 1000 it slowly fades into the composition. So the animation already is not so boring. If you want to be a little bit more fancy and know something about cameras, I'll open it to the camera option. And I have, for example, that focus distance as I have my camera options, I can enable the depth of field and we can play around with the focal distance, the basic value. Let's make the basic value to 2000 and a bit forward. Here, I'll hold the shift key and make the focal distance much lower. This will blur out the composition. Okay, I have 2 260 I place it here. And as the animation ghost in at first, the logo is a little bit blurred, and then it slowly goes towards a proper focal ng. OK, that's everything you wanted to do through the camera. Now, this will be the most beautiful moment off this entire animation because you'll have so much freedom. Please go to the cameramen off course, Make it treaty because we want the cameramen to be also treaty. I press are toe open up the rotation and as the animation finishes off course, everything needs to be cleaned out and everything needs to be zero degrees. Who will say us that here, for example, that you want, for example, a rotation off 20 degrees on the X axis and 60 degrees on the Y axis? You see, this looks really cool and the animation slowly rotates until it's in the proper zero position. If you want to make it more fancy, you can play around with those key Frings. But basically the animation starts like that. It slowly fades into the screen. It's completely rotated. But you don't have to care for this at all because at this place it will all come back to zero. You don't have to worry how, because it will come slowly back. And this is how you can make an animation really outstanding and much, much better. I see this rotation isn't so cool. It shouldn't be visible at this point. So what can I do? This waas right bottom, Right. Okay, so I take this animation and I simply make it invisible. Until this point so right about here, it starts to appear still. I need to move it a few frames forward. Okay, let's preview our entire animation for me, it's a bit too slow, so I'll come closer with those key frames. Now comes the harder part because I want to reveal all key frames. I know that I wanted this to be quicker. So I select those layers quicker. Those layers quicker, those layers quicker. I don't need to make much changes. If this is rendered heavy for you, you can always lower the resolution here. Okay? The information flows in like that. It's a bit static here. It could be a bit faster. So I start the rotation right here. Maybe the rotation should be a bit stronger, so I still like those key frames. I go a few degrees forward. Okay. Yes, this looks really cool. Also, days should be extended. I know this is a little bit off tinkering and tweaking it much around, but it really depends on what information you want to achieve. And you can already see that this is something that you probably never done in after effects in terms of animation. So Ok, this looks better and better. I leave it at that now because this is basically how our animation should look like. And I'll show you how to clean it up and fade it off. Thank you very much for watching this extensive lesson, and unless you in the next 6. Fade it OUT: Now we, of course, need some closure for our animation. There are so many ways how you could fight this off, but I'll surely the most efficient and the most proper one for this particular animation. As you see this composition, we have several logo layers. If you want the logo to disappear, we should, for example, Presti press opacity placeiq from here here. And we would have this key frame on multiple layers and we'll meet somewhat toe fate out each layer separately. But luckily we don't have to do this. Let me close everything. And since our logo, it's really pixel perfect here in the middle, the four frames are pixel perfect. I select all those layers because I know at this position the logo is at position zero. There is no movement whatsoever going on. I click on my left all key or this will be the option key. If you are working on the Mac and the right bracket key, the right bracket key will delete everything here. All right, place another logo composition here. But this time it will be invisible at first and then it will come to life. So at first, we have all those layers with the animation. But later on they disappear and you have only one layer. And to fight out this entire animation, we could, yes, justice, layer and change the opacity here. And that's what we will do as you've put this layer here, go to maybe four seconds or where you on Presti place on the key frame at 100% go a few friends forward, for example, to four seconds and 15 frames and press zero. So here the animation slowly fades off. If you want the last find touch on it you can also work again with the cameramen hyperspeed like position we have the X y and Z X is we can work with those excesses. Why isn't it visible now? Because this layer wasn't three d. This layer moves to be treaty in order for this to work. Okay, I need the Z axis will be really interesting. So I go to four seconds. I press one key frame here at the basic position. I go maybe three frames forward and I make the position to an amount off 400. Okay? And then at it slowly disappears. Also, this should go to a negative amount off. For example, Negative 300. Let's see how this looks. It'll anyway fade out. So this is how you can fade out this animation you place position key frames on the cameramen because the cameramen owns this place and the logo animation simply fades out. Let's preview are a result. Okay, this is far too slow. I'll come closer. Boot. Okay. The boom should be a bit stronger like this, and this should be closer now it's too far away here. From the fade out, I place it a bit forward. Okay, let's preview boom. Well, it's still a bit slow, but that's too quick. Okay, we will stay with that because I would tinker and tweak it endlessly. That's how I am. Where, when I work on this animations, I I just wanted to show you the most important principles how you can approach and finish such an animation. We can still do changes if you want, for example, to make it a bit quicker, I fortunes will see the left left bottom. Where is it? I named it so, so good that I can't even find it. Okay, the left bottom. Let's see the key Frings Dickie Frings could be a bit closer and I think this entire animation should the left side should go quicker. Okay. Yeah, that's still too slow. Sorry that they make so much changes. But you really see what happens here. Okay, Now it looks better, because once this face in Oh, not not quite. Okay. Here, here. Slight changes. And remember to make also changes here. If you replace something once again, Old right bracket key. This will snap perfectly to it. And at one frame here, this is how you can close up the animations with some tweaks and with a proper fake. 7. ORGANIZE the project : Hello again. We are arriving at the very end. We are finishing the animation. If you make those little tweaks and organize it it properly, the animation should look somewhat like this. Let me show it to you. Okay, we have the animation is ghost in and at the end, it fates off. If you have, for example, trouble editing, remember that you can always work. It calls. You can recall or things and then you will see them easier because it's easier to edit if they have the same color to off the layers that you are editing have the same color. They are, for example, or in like this. And now you would see what you are doing with all of them. OK, it you arrived at this point, close everything down and once again select everything right. Take and recompose it. I'll call, for example, days edit animation because once you want to edit this animation, you double click here and you have this composition for editing. But this composition, this animation composition this will be the final render. I'll even change the name by pressing control or command K to render or render this you can call it as you want and I'll praise the background here. Right, new, solid background. And I will show you a little trick, which you can use in future while you work with logo animations. You see, I have this solid. I'll call this BG. I select effects and presets. If you don't see it, go to window and enable effects and presets. The shortcut is controlled five and I'll use a ramp a rampant, really effective I double click on it or having the background selected, and I change it from linear to radio and the first color, the black color in this case should be in the middle and the second color somewhere here now off course, changed the color. The first should be bright like a white one. I'll select the white, and the second should be great. This is like the basis for every local animation you want to create because we can select the second color. You can grab it here and you can make the vineyard as strong as you want. You, of course, don't have to do it, but what I sometimes do I duplicate this a few times and, for example, winning this BG b deep blue. I select a blue one A blue color like that I make the vineyard stronger. Okay? And I can d c like any layer and stay with the blue one. If I want to switch to ah white one, I switch it like that. If I want to switch to a black one, I go with black dark two collars. I disliked it and watch. Now, if the logo will be, for example, white, I need to go back to the character White boom. You change the background color and there is absolutely no problem using it like that. Sorry, I'm a bit confused here. Okay, this is the animation we prepared. And this is the composition you want to render. I believe you know how to render in after effects. If no, you can goto composition and either add it to the render queue or if you want to render it two more former. It's like quick time Jeffs or anything else. You can add it to the professional adobe media encoder. This time I just like the simple after front runner. I click on the output module, maybe a B. I may be quick time I select quick time. 60% of quality okay is an age The composition rendered is you click here and select Where should it safe? For example, on your desktop Render boom and the animation renders and you have a ready video to youth. Now, from this video you can, for example, create a give and showcase it somewhere Or just have fun with the video he created. Really? Congratulations. If you arrived here, it's really amazing that you followed to And I would like to ask you to create a gift file so you can showcase it. You can, for example, do the in Photoshopped or on the Internet would give creating websites. You just import the file, you open it. I'm opening the render it imported into photo shop. I'll save it for Web and say for Web allows us to create chiefs. I have won 28 colors, the detergent 70% and I, of course, need to lower the image size and make it to look forever off course loop forever. And I want the resolution off, for example, 600 pixels for 300 pixels. So the entire file will be smaller because you don't want a three megabyte GIF. Okay, this will be 700 kilobytes. I looked this forever. And let's preview what we have. Perfect. Every nice gift with the black background and the white logo in here. I will save this, and I'll see you later with the chief. 8. Thank You!: what a great pleasure Thes waas toe work on this animation with you. I'm really happy about what we did because you not only learned how to make such an animation because you're already learned about cameras. You learned about how to use shape layers to reveal something about track matting, about mode, a lot of interesting stuff, which is really hard to learn alone. I hope you like those local animation Siri's because local animations, lower turds and so on. These are my most favorite animations and 90% off the freelancing I do. An after effect comes down to that because I somewhat specialized myself in this. And this is what I would like to bring you because I enjoy this content. I like to teach about this, and I look forward to your feedback about if you like it or not. If you will like it, I will create a lot a lot more off those glasses, a lot off. More logo animations, different variations and completely different designs will always tackle one design. At the time, I believe you know the drill. If you want to help me, please start a project and submit the Jeff your created and leave me a review. Even your review is really simple. You just go in here, Click yes or no? Right, Something here or even don't write anything. Just submit a review. I would like to encourage you to leave me a positive review. If not if you don't find that this class is good enough or you anticipated something different, Please tell me about it here in the community section because I'll know what to tweak, what to change. And I'll know next time what to do better still, I hope you did like this class and you enjoyed the content. Thank you very much for being with me. And I look forward to do the next logo animation with U. S. Well, this was the first project in the local animation. Siri's an after effect
