About This Class

In this class, we’ll draw wild animals.

We’re going to make the pictures from scratch, starting with the sketches, and as the result, you'll have 5 full-colored illustrations.

You can use the final pictures as single stickers, sticker pack, put them on a postcard, make a pattern from them, turn them into digital products or use them in whatever way you want.

This class is for everyone, so don’t worry if you have no prior experience. All the drawings are made in Procreate, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t use any other graphic software or even traditional materials.

1. Introduction: Hello everyone. My name is Sonya and I'm an illustrator and graphic designer. Today we'll draw wild animals. We're gonna make all the pictures from scratch, starting from the sketches. And as a result, you'll have five full colored illustrations. You can use the final pictures as single stickers or Sticker Pack, put them on the postcard, make a pattern from them, turn them into some digital products and to use them in whatever way you once this class is for everyone. So don't worry if you have no prior experience, all the drawings are made in Procreate, but it doesn't mean that you cannot use any other graphic software or even traditional materials. So with that said, if you're ready to launch your software and let's begin. 2. Drawing a Lion: Today we'll create a few illustrations of wild animals. They will be very bright and very easy to do. Let's just go to our Canvas and start creating our first illustration, which is going to be alive. The first thing that we need to do onto our canvas is too big the color and to beat the brush. So for the brush, use any brush that you like, I'm going to be using the textured one because I just like how it looks S for the color, any color that you are comfortable to work with. Now let's just go to our Canvas and start sketching. As I said before, the first, now that we are going to be creating is going to be aligned. And the first element of this land that we will create is the main. For the main, we will need to create just a simple circle. You can do it manually or you can use the quick shape tool to create the perfect shape. If you're using the quick shape to hold down your Apple pencil at the end of the line, and she will, ends up with a perfect shape. I will go and create it manually. If you need to adjust your shape, go to the Transform tool and choose one of these methods to achieve what you want when you're satisfied with the sheep ledges, go again to the top panel and tap on this little icon with the arrow. If you need to erase, simply says grab the eraser to end, do what you need. When we have the general shape for the main, we will need to add the face. So for the face, Let's go and find the center of our ellipse when we know where the center is, Let's create the rectangle. Looking like that. It's going to be a little bit wider on the top and a little bit narrower on the Watson. Let's adjusted and create the clean, cheap. When you have this rectangle, Let's move on to the bottom and create the cheeks area for the cheeks. We will need firstly to start by figuring out where the center of these lines on the sides are. So let's just mark them down. When you have this center lines, we will go a little bit beyond them and we will create an ellipse like that. You can create as big or as small circle or ellipse as you like. When we have the ellipse and the sheep on the top, we will go and grab the eraser tool and erase everything that we don't need. Now when we have this shape, Let's just fix it by selecting it and moving it toward the center. So we're going to the top panel. We are selecting the freehand method. We are selecting our sheep in the center and we will go to the transform to use the uniform or free form method and move it to this site. You can play beads with the sheep. You can rotate it, you can make it smaller, you can make it bigger. It's up to you. The main goal here is to put it somewhere near the center when you're satisfied with its position. Let's just go again to the top panel and we will tap on the Selection. So when everything is deselected, weekend move on and we can add some details. Firstly, let's start by aiding the years for the ears. You have a few options where to position them. You can go with the horizontal axis, you can go with a vertical axis, or you can put in the ear right on the intersection of these two plates. So let just experiment a little bit and find the right position for the ears, S for the shape of the ear, we will go just with half of the circle or half of the ellipse when we have the ears, Let's move on to the face features and firstly, add the nose. Let's find the center of this line on top. And also we will divide these areas by two pieces as well. When you have this little map, let's create two tilted lines looking toward the center. When we have these two lines, Let's create the nose. Firstly, we will add one auxiliary line going through these parts. So go horizontally and create the line right on the intersection of these two shapes. This line will represent the top of the nose. So we can grab the eraser and we can erase everything that we don't need. Now by going down, we will create a little triangle. You can shade it right away. When we have the nose, let's move on to the mouth. Firstly, we will draw the line going down from the bottom of the nose and we will add to half of the circles on the sides. Again, it's up to you how big this curves would be. If you want, you can play a little bit and add a little tank right here. We are mostly done with our boards and part. And let's move on to that soap ends at more details. Firstly, we will start by eating the ice. Let's find where we need to put them. We will create one more exhilarating horizontal line like that. You can be guided by this mark that we have right here. When we have this slide, we have a few options of how to create the eyes. The first one is to go very simply and create the dot like that. If you want to go a little bit further, you can create the sheet of the lemon like that and create the iris inside it. So it's up to you what kind of the eyes you will add. I will go just with a simple dots because I think it looks a bit cuter. Now when we have the eyes, Let's move on and add the inner parts of the ears. We will just go and repeat the shape that we already have. Let's work a little bit onto our sketch and erase everything that we don't need. So I will go for all the shapes and I will erase all the lines that are not necessary. When you have cleaned your sketch, Let's add a few more details. For example, we will go to the bottom part of our face and we will add a few dots like that that will represent the whiskers. Also, we can work a little bit on the main and we can go alone the shape and add a few segments. You can create as many segments as you like. You can vary their size and you can use double lines or just a single lights. Tried to work carefully and try to clean everything up. We won't be creating the clean lines into this class. And it will be nice if you will, working with the clean sketch when we are ready with R hat, Let's move on to the body. For the body, we will need the same amount of space that we had for r hat. So you can mark it down somewhere on the site for the body, we can go with any side that you like. You need to choose where you live. We'll look at. So for example, we can go with the right side or we can go with the left side. I probably will go with the right side. Now we need to mark down where we need to start creating our body. So for example, let's say it will be somewhere here for the body, we will need to go and create the curve like that. I'm going a little bit beyond the frame, but it doesn't matter because this part will be that see when we have this shape. If it's hard for you to create the shape just right away, you can create the circle or an ellipse and then erase everything that you don't need when you have the sheep, let's add the volume for the tail. We will go and create the curve like that and we will recreate the sheep in that way when we have that sale, Let's create the bottom leg. We will go and we will create the line like that. So it is just the simple horizontal line. We can erase this part because we don't really need it. So let's erase everything that we don't need. And let's work on the back leg. Let's erase this line just a beat and we will create the volume for this leg. So for example, we can go just with a simple shape like that. When you have this little shape, we need to add this fault that the leg has. So we will need to create the shape like that. Again, you can vary the size of this part and this part it's up to you. So I will go a little bit further and create a bigger lack, erase all the parts that you don't need. And let's move on and create the front legs. For the front leg, again, we need to find where we need to start creating it. So let's just mark it down summary here, we will need to go and we will need to create the sheep like that. So it is a little noodle, go and create the first black when you have the first lag less, move on to the second black and S for the second leg. Let's make it a little bit more interesting. We will go and create it in the same way that we created the leg right here. So we will need to use this curve. So create the same noodle that we have here, but use the different direction when you have the second leg, Let's connect the body parts together by creating some lines. So for example, right here we will go and create the line like that. And here we will connect the legs with the curve. In that way, you can pay attention to these parts and she can create a little bit smoother connections. So let's erase everything that we don't need and create that smoother connections. When you're satisfied with your legs. Let's move on and add some details. So for example, I will go to the bottom of the legs and I will create a nicer shape. I will add some tools. Let's erase Erath in that we don't need. And let's repeat these toes on. So all the legs that we have on to our illustration, when we are ready with it. So let's move on to the tail and add a little detail right here. Now, our sketches done, I will erase everything that we don't need and we will move on to the coloring parts. For the coloring, we will need to go to the Layers and create a new layer. We will need to put this layer under the layer with our sketch. Now let's go and grab another color and start recoloring our parts. You can use the color scheme that you see here in a project and restaurants app. You can download it and use the same colors as I'm using right now. Or if you don't like these colors, use the color wheel, the colors manually and recolor in the colors that you like. So for example, I will go and I will pick this yellow color for the mean. What we are going to be doing here is go in manually and recoloring all the parts that we need. So for example, we will start with the main. So I will go, I will increase the size of the brush and I will go through the sheep and recolor it. Let's pick the different color for the face features. So for the cheeks part, I will use just the white color, the same way. I will go through the shape and I will recolor what I need. Let's add a different color for this face features. So I will go and grab this orange, and I will recolor this part with this color. Let's add the pink color for that Zack and maybe fix these nodes a little bit. When you're ready to move on to the body being the same color that we used for this face features and recolor the body with orange color. The last thing that we need to recover is this little fluffy palm, palm on the tail. Now when we are done with the basic color and let's add a few details. So for example, we will go and pick the same color that we used for the main and go through the whole shape of the body ends at the strokes like that. Now let's do the same with the main, but we will choose the different color. We will go with this orange. So again, randomly add some details to the mean and try not to overdo it if you like how it looks with this dark outlines, you are done with your illustration. If you want to get rid of them, I will show you how you can do it. Let's go to the layers and we will create one more layer above the layer with our sketch, we will tap on it and we will choose clipping mask. When we are setting the layer as a clipping mask, we are working only with the content that we have underneath it. So here as we clip it to the layer with our sketch, we will be recoloring only the lines that we have here. So now let's grab the brush and let's pick the same color that we have here for the main, we will go through the whole sheep and we will recolor the line in that way. Let's do the same for the face features and let's do the same for the body. Just pick the same color that you used for this elements and recolor the line. So when you recolored all your lines, we are done with our first illustration. Let's just go to the layers. Let's select all the layers that belong to this lion and we will make it a little bit smaller and put it aside. So let's select everything and go to the transform. So use the uniform methods, adjust the size and move it aside. And let's move on to our second illustration. 3. Drawing a Frog: For our second illustration, Let's draw a frog. Let's go to the layers and find the layer where we were creating this sketch. Let's grab the same color that we used for this gauge part. And let's start sketching for the frog ledger. Start with the heads. We will need to start by creating a shape like that. So it is the bottom part of an ellipse. Again, if you can't create the same shape manually, you can go and create the ellipse, use the quick shape tool and erase the parts that you don't need if you need to adjust the existing shape, Let's go to the selection. So let's use the free hand method. Let's select the shape, go to the transform so and adjusted in a way that we like when you're satisfied with your shape legis again, go to the top toolbar and let's tap on the Selection. So when we have this shape, Let's create the eyes. For the eyes, we will go to these sites and we will create a little circles or ellipses like that. One on one side and one on the other. Sex, erase everything that you don't meet and try to be accurate. When we have the eyes, Let's add the irises. Firstly, we will repeat the sheet that we have for our ice cream, the same ellipsis insight on both sides. When we have this place for the eyes, Let's divide it by two parts and create the iris insights. You can choose this side where you've rock will look at if you want, you can go a little bit beyond their frames and you can shade it right away. Let's repeat it on the other sides. Now when we have the eyes, Let's add the big smile on the bottom of the face. So firstly, let's create the lines like that and we will repeat the shape that we have on the bottom, adjusted if you need to. And let's add the tank. So for the tank, we will go to one side and we will create the shape like that. Let's erase ARAF in that we don't need and let's move on to the body. So for the body, we will need to create the sheep of the shrink down. Let's find out where we need to put it. So let's mark down where we'll start from both sides and we will create the shape like that. Again, work on the shape if you need to erase everything that you don't need and adjusted in accordance with your visa. So when you have the general shape, Let's create a little samey on the body. So we will go and we will create the shape of the heart on the body. So when you have these two shapes, Let's move on and create the legs. And we will start with the back legs. We will need to go to the sites and we will need to create two loops like that. One is here and one on the other side. Work on the shape and erase everything that you don't need. Now when we have these two loops, let's create the feet. And for the feed, we will need to create some kind of the petals. Let's just go and create the shape like that on one side and the shaped like that on the other side. We have the back legs. Let's create the front lax. And we will need to start by creating two sticks like that. Let's repeat it on the other side and tilted to the different direction. When we have these two sticks, let's create the same shapes that we have right here. Now let's work completely on the shape and let's erase everything that we don't need. When you clean that the shape. Let's go and add a few details to the eyes. And these details will be the eyelashes. We will go and create just three lines like that repeated on the other eye as well. If you want to adjust your sheep in any way, go to the selection tool, select it, go to the transform. So ends adjusted in accordance with your visa, probably I will use the warp tool and I will adjust the right sites when you're satisfied with error-free and legends go to the top toolbar and legends heat the selection. So now we can move on to the coloring part. And again, we will do the same things that we did for the lion. We will go to the layers and we will go to the layer that we used for our color. Now let's go to our color scheme and let's pick some colors and start recoloring our frog. So I will go with this color and I will start with the hat. Again. We are going along the sheep and we are recoloring the places that we need to recover. When you're a colored the head, let's recolor this white places on the eyes. If you think that they are wide right now and they won't change its color. Its not true. If we change the color of the background, these places will be recolored as well. So you need to keep this in mind. Let's just go and grab the white color and go through these places. If it's easier for you, you can go and change the background color to see what you are doing. Let's get back our white color for the background and move on to other places and recolor them. When you recolor the ARAF and let's add a few details. We will go and grab another color and go with the dots along the sheets. Now, if you like how it looks with a dark outlines, you're done with your illustration. If you want to recolor these lines, Let's go to the layer that we already have, and we will pick the colors and we will recolor these lines. When you recolored all the lines, we are done with our second illustration. Let's make it a little bit smaller and put it aside. Go to the layers and select all the layers that we have here. Go to the selection tool, select these elements, go to the Transform tool, use uniform or free-form method. Adjust your illustration and booted as sites. And now let's move on to our third illustration. 4. Drawing a Crab: For our third illustration, Let's create a grep. We will need to go to our layer with the sketches and we need to grab the same color and the same brush. Firstly, we will start by creating the sheep like that. If you need to adjust it, Let's go to the top toolbar. Let's grab this election. So let's select our object, go to the transform so and adjusted in accordance with our vision. When you're satisfied with your sheet, Let's go to the top toolbar and deselect everything. Now when we have the sheep for the body, we will need to move on to the next. Firstly, we will start by creating an auxiliary line like that. This line will represent where the legs, amps and S4, the sheep or the legs we will need to create the curvy training goes like that. Let's find the center of the shape and start by creating the first leg. Pay attention to this curve and create the new leg a little bit bigger when you have three legs on one side, Let's repeat them on the other sites. When you're done with your legs, Let's grab an eraser tool and fix our drawing. We will erase every part that we don't need to remember that this time we are not using the clean lines and we are working just with this gauge. So that means that you need to keep it clean when you're satisfied with the legs. Let's move on to the top part and we will add the arms. Firstly, we will need to create this dx like that. Make one on one side and repeated on the other side when you have these statistics, let's move on to creating the clause. Firstly, we will need to create the rounded rectangle like that. Let's repeat it on the other side. Let's erase everything that we don't need and we will move on to actual clause. So now for the mean squares, we will need to create the shape like that. It has the sheet of half of the lemma when you have one of them, let's add the second one, which will be a little bit smaller. Keep in mind that the outset glow should be a little bit bigger. Let's repeat this same elements on the other side. When you're done with this part, let's add the ice. Firstly, we will need to add 26 like that at the end of this six, let's add a little ball, one on one side and one on the other sides. Let's fix it with an eraser X2 and we will add the ice. So for the eyes, let's go inside these stocks and we will create the circle here. Let's move on to the second one and the same circle inside this talk as well. Now you can pick the direction where your grep will look at. For example, I will go and end them on the top. You can see them right away and add some details such as eyelashes. Now when everything is almost done, let's add the last element, which is going to be a little mouth. I will go with the simple shapes and create the curve like that. If you want to make it a little bit more cute, Let's add the cheeks. When we are done with our sketch, Let's move on to the layer with our color. Let's go and find our color palettes, and let's grab some color. So for example, I will start with these orange and as always, I will go along the sheep and I will recolor the elements one by one. Don't forget to add the white color for the eyes. When you're done with the basic coloring, Let's add some details with the dots. When he had done with edit your details. And if you like how it looks with a dark lines, you are done with your third illustration. If you want to change the color of the lines, Let's go to the layer with a clipping mask and change them. When you've recolored your line. We are done with our third illustration, but let's go to the layers and let's select everything that we have here. We will go to the selection, so we will select our illustration and we will make it a little bit smaller and put it aside when it's done. Let's move on to our fourth illustration. 5. Drawing a Toucan: For our next illustration, Let's create a two cap. We will go to the same layer that we used for our sketch. We will grab the same brush and the same color. We will start by creating the body of the two cap. First thing. First, we need to create the curved like that, and we will repeat this curve on the top. Now let's connect these two parts together. If you need to adjust your shape, go to the selection and transform tool and adjusted in accordance with your visa when we have the shape for the body, Let's move on to the beak. We will go and LM get this line on the top and create the curve like that to make this big L little bit bigger. Tried to make it as, even as the size of the body when you have this curve, Let's create the straight line like that. Let's adjust the shape and erase everything that we don't need when you have the base shape. Let's move on to some details. Firstly, we will go to the body and we will create half of the circle like that inside this area, we will be creating the eye. So let's create one more circle insights. When they have this ellipse. And let's create one more smaller ellipse inside this shape. It just the sheets. If you need to enter, Let's move on to some details on the beak. Firstly, let's create half of the circle on this area. And when you're done with this task, let's add a little smile. So just create a curve like that and a little line in this way. When we have these base, Let's add some weeks. The wings will have the sheep of the rounded rectangle. So the first one we will position right here, and the second one will go there. Clean up your lines, and let's move on to the feet. We will go with two straight lines like that. At the end of each line, we will need to create three more lines. When you have these three lines, we will need to add one more line on the back when you're satisfied with the legs, Let's add a little tail. Again. It will have the same shape as the weeks. You can go and L AND gate this line on the bottom and create your shape. When the sketches ready, let's move on to our layer with coloring and start recoloring our elements. So again, we are going to, our color palette became the Colors and Recolor the elements one by one. When you're done with basic coloring, Let's add some details. So for example, I will go and add the different color on the bottom of the beak. Also, I will go along the shapes and I will add little dots or stripes like that. I will add a little highlight to the eye and also I will add some eyelashes. When you are done with adding some details and if you like how it looks with the dark lines, you are done with your fourth illustration. If you want to recolor the lines, Let's go to our layer with a clipping mask and recolor the lats. And when you're done with recoloring your lines, we are done with our fourth illustration. Let's go to the layers. Let's select every layer that we have here. Let's go to the selection. So, and let's make this illustration a little bit smaller and put it aside. And now let's move on to our final illustration. 6. Drawing a Fox: For our last illustration, Let's create a fox. Again. It will go to the same layer that we used for this kitchen. We will grab the same brush and the same color. Firstly, we will start by creating the sheep of the comb like that. If you need to fix it, goes along the sheet and adjusted in a way that you like when you have the sheep. Let's move on to the top and we will create two pointy ears. They will have the sheep of the triangles. When you're done with the ears, Let's move on to the left side and we will add the nose. It will have the shape of the rounded triangle. When you have this shape, Let's connect the nose and the body parts together. When we did it, Let's grab the eraser tool and erase everything that we don't need. When we're done with this task, Let's move on and separate that Sammy from the body. We will do it by creating the curve like that. When it's done, Let's move on to that. See, we will go to the Watson writes and we will create the curve like that when he created this first line, let's add the second line and add some volume to the tail. Fix the lines if you need to. And let's add one additional element for that sale. We will go to the deep and we will create the jagged line like that. When it's done, let's add the Lechs. We will go to the Tommy and we will create two sticks like that repeated on the other side. Let's finish the lines with a little curve. Now we can erase everything that we don't need that is overlapping our legs. They have all the basic shapes. Let's move on to the face features. Firstly, we will go to the nose and we will create a little nose like that. So it is just a simple sheet of the ellipse and we will see it right away when we have the nodes, let's move on to the eye. We will just add one eye and it will be the shape of the circle. When you are done with this outline, let's add the iris. And again, you can choose where you folks will look at. Now we can add a few more details. So for example, let's add the eyelashes, let's add the inner parts of the ears, and let's add a little smile. Now our sketch is ready and if you want to adjust it in any way, go to the selection tool, go to the transform so and adjusted in accordance with your visa. When you're satisfied with your sketch, Let's move on to the layer with our coloring and start recoloring our folks. Let's go to our color palette and grab that orange or yellow color.
