About This Class

Hi, my name is Mats and i want to teach you way to make your own 3D-Parts with the help of the Software freeCAD. I'll start with the basics and will go further into detail with later classes. One possible aim is to create your own 3D-parts for 3D-printing.

In this 1st class I will give you a short overview of the software and some minor visual settings. Afterwards we will dive into the PartDesigner. In this class I will explain the Sketchmodule of FreeCAD. Step by Step we will create our first Sketches and afterwards with the help of two different extrusion commands we will create our first few 3D-parts.

In this Class you will learn the following:

- How to read and understand simple technical drawings

- What the software FreeCAD is capable of

- Creating finished sketches for simple 3D-Models

- Extrusion and Rotation command to create a 3D-Model based on a 2D-Sketch

1. Intro: Hello. My name is mad. Are Mets before what you want? Um, I'm from Germany. I'm 30 years old and I have a master's degree in mechanical engineering. I work at the university in Germany and Parliament up there is basically to teach students see any software. So the reason I'm doing school, she is because I already do this for students are why not do with that as well? Um, so here I am doing my first special radio, uh, had a little fun doing it. I learned a lot on. And I hope that you, when you are finished with my class and done all my exercises, have a basic understanding off the software freak out. Um, And I hope you can use this knowledge to create your own three D parts, even if there are rob a simple um But anyway, I hope you enjoy my class on have fun doing it 2. Technical Drawings: Hello and welcome to the sculpture exercise for the free See Eddie Software freak out before we start explaining before I start explaining the software, um, I will show you. Oh, I want to give you some advice for technical drawings. This is basically something to help those that have zero knowledge about technical drawing . So if you know your stuff year, you can basically skip it, then go right into itself there. So here we have a technical drawing that's basically which is the second exercise that weaken do during my class. And at first I want to give you the hinder body in from three dimensions here desire admitting uterus because I use the metric system because I'm from Germany and we don't use like interests and stuff. The second I want to explain is Thea are and the symbol here month er stands for dia meter . Sorry, not diameter for a radius. Um which describes radio geometry from your part like here and here. And this symbol here is a diameter symbol which defines the size off drill a hole, for example. The next thing I want to explain are these pluses. Typically there are. These are center points from either a drilling hole or a radius, or in this case year and here both. I'm normally they are shown in dotted lines. But I didn't find the option free card to do that. So we have to work with what we got. And this is our thes plus symbols. The second option are the second thing these center lines do is they indicate symmetrical planes a second. See this part here has two symmetrical planes. He is the first, and here's the second, um, this basically indicates the next thing I want to explain. As you can see, I only gave us much information, information and term off dimensions. S a needs to, um, a second. See, I only gave the information about this the radius year on the right side and on the left side because part of symmetrical. So I didn't have to measure one in both sides. No, this noticed that this is only because I want you to exercise your sketching skills and freak out. If you would give this drawing to that, say someone who actually wants to manufacture this part, this would be the faults drawing if you want to say so, but I will come. We will go over that in a different class. Um So the basic idea off and the technical drawing is to basically give you an understanding on how the party looks in a to de way. So here we look from it, Look at our object from the top or from the front side. It depends on how it is to find. And this you here is basically that you will be basically turn our object and look on this side off the object. So we look from here and the object gets turned to this side, and then we get the information that has shown here that the height off the off this object was like 10 milliliters. So this is the also This is called the A table protection. Um, yeah. And I think with that, you should be able to create the should be able to read the exercise if you have questionable, though, over the excess step by step. Um, just let me know if you need more information I can give you I will give you the common section. But for now, I wish I think this should be enough. Um, yeah. So see you in a minute. In free 3. Basic Line Commands: So now we are in free car. Um, For the record, I use version one point one as sorry. 0.18 If you want to download freak out just with it. The website www free cart dot aghh. And you can basically get your fee cut version for free. Um, before we start with the explanation off the sketch model, I want to explain a few minor changes in the set inside it to my freak out version. For that, we go to the edit tip here on the top and just press the preference command and under the general options, weaken basically change your languages. Um, and you can change the design off he software. I changed mine, too. A dark words because I think it's better for the eyes. But this is something. This is my preference, if you like. Like ah, the more white ish color you can you see like versions or the dark versions decisive. The toolbar icons is relevant for people that use, um I try HD, um, money to or like myself. You have to use the the large options to make the command Aiken small visible to you make the madre, so you can just discern them better. Um, nes is basically all I changed for the time being. If you are happy with your settings, just press okay on. We can start with the creation of all 1st 3 d object For this, we will firstly create a new document pressing here and now. We're basically in this new sections You always have like, um, information bar on the left side that will list all the things you've done Are we go into the in a bit? But first, we want to change the city module off, freak out for the three. You go to this bar here on the top, and we will go to the part designs, not that click. And after showed loading time, we will arrive at this window, but you can see the commands switched up. And, uh, the first thing that we always have to do is to create a body in new body. Um, and now the tuba. Us. Our asks us if you want to do a Boolean operation, which I will go in another video or if you want to create a sketch, obviously, for the first time, we want to create a new sketch. If you press this button here, he software asks us on which plane we want to create the sketch. The idea behind the sketch motors is that we create a two D drawing off a three D object and basically extrude the two. D drawing along the perpendicular access off the plane with an extrusion command that will well explain in the attend off the studio. Um, so for the for the time being, we can use the X and Y plane and just press okay here. Now, the software changed from the part designed to the sketch A module and we can start creating offer sketch, Um, some quick information about the, um how to move your view in this software. If you press the your mouse wheel, you can basically move around in the year X and y direction. And I think that the rotation is, um, basically on hold because we are in this X and Y planes. We can't change the the view in terms of rotation, which is actually pretty good because, uh, another city self arrested. I know this is not a standard options. So many new beginnings just change their view on the plane of the viewing and if he get, get lost. So this is not not really possible year, which is pretty good. Um, the commands of will explain that this first video, the point commends the line command, the Arctic Command, the cervical man, the poll, Eli in command, direct tingle, polygon and the slot comment and the constraints. The reason I'm not explaining the other commands in this first video is because they are not needed for us. And there are basically commands for users that have a little bit more knowledge about creating three D parts. So let's get started with the point comment. It's pretty straightforward. We can create points if you activate the command with a click on the left button off your mouth. You basically ready the command. And if you press the left button again in the graphical window off freak out, which is basically the big one year, you create points. If you personally the right button on your mouse to commend closes and you have the normal mouse again and basically can click on stuff into other things Asi can see here. I also get all the points created in this sidebar, and if I click on the third point here, for example, the point gets highlighted, and I can see which point I selected. But I will basically delete them for the time being. You can delete stuff if you select it and just press the delete button on your keyboard. Mixed sister line command. Also pretty straightforward. It creates lines. The disadvantage off this command to set these lines are not connected to each other. So, um, I have to be really, um, good at getting the endpoint off. My previous line to create a new language is directly connected to the last line. Thistle is something that the poly line command directly does for yourself. Oh, for you, which is basically that you create lines that are directly connected to 1 to 1 another. If you press the M button, the Poly Line Command changes its behavior and creates lines that are, um, in a certain that have constraints attached to them. I would go over that in a in a minute, but for the time being, just remember that advanced off, the politician commander said. The starting point and the endpoint off the off, the lines are connected, and you don't have to do this later on, which is really important. Next this the Aqua Mont. The Ark, also pretty straightforward, creates arts, but this geometry has to different ways of creating an arc. The 1st 1 is that you create this Centrepoint off the Ark and then basically determine where it starts aware. Hence said the point starting point in point, The Ethical Monde is that you create the stop point endpoint and then you basically determined heart in which direction the Argos and what sayeth iarc Tess. So start point, endpoint size and direction. The next one are circles also pretty straightforward. I can create circles, determined the center point determined size off the circle. The other one is I create a circle based on three points. First point, second point third point, So I don't create them based on the center point, but based on three points that are on the circle itself. Next iss the rectangle command. I basically with the left mouse, I determined the star point off my ankle, and then I can determine the size off my rectangle. The good thing here is that my rectangle the lines of my rectangle are directly have some constraints attached to it. The meeting off constraint. It will go over in in in a few minutes. Uh, so this basically means that this line always goes in this ghost in the horizontal way. And this simple means that these this land will always go in a vertical way. I can create a polygon. I have different options, so I can basically create a triangle here, which is pretty good. Um, and, uh, sis could see the circle here, and I can see a lot of constraints are attached to that. Um, the polygon Coleman is not off news, but if you need it, it's good to have one, because creating, for example, a Pentagon or a hexagon by hand. It's pretty frustrating. So having a polygon command is pretty good, and the next is to create a slot with, um with the direct sketch was with also comes in pretty handy for more sophisticated creation off three parts in, uh, maybe later exercise. So know where I'm have gone over the basic idea of thescore man's here. Andi, Now we'll go over. How true Create a good sketch 4. Constraints and Exersice 1 & 2: Well, now we will go with him. Constraints. And by doing so, I will do the first exercise for the sake of the first exercise. And you see politician command. And yeah, we'll go. Uh, most of the, um, constraints at all of them And most of the that mentions the general work flow in Creating a sketch on free country is create your sketch to the, um, create all your constraints in afterwards, create all your dimensions. Um, general idea of ah, you create a three d part is just create the rough outline. Um, and then just do the rest with the with the constraints and dimensions. So keep that in mind. Um, why creating the first exercise? Um, so I will be It's rough. Yes, I can be. Why creating the simple you shape. And I'm not even clothing. My sketch. Um, the most important thing for every sketch that you have to keep in mind is that the sketch has to be closed. So if I want to you use later of the extrusion command, this would basically make it not possible to use it at all. So this is always the most important thing that you have to look out for your line. Your lines have to be close to each other or half to start and end at the another line, and open spaces like this will always lead to problems later, even if they are really small. So for this, the first constraint helps you. It will basically put two points that are open here. For example, in here together, if you started constrained, we can select these two points and the the line or the line work closer to each other. And now we can basically work with the other constraints to get as close as possible to our sketch I wanted sketch. As you can see, I have to at least give 16 constrains to that. My sketch. It's fully avoid off any degrees of freedom. This is always the aim that you want to have that you do want. You want to have a sketch without any did degrees of freedom. So let's start with the political constraints. I make this line vertical, this land vertical, this land vertical and also this one pretty straightforward. This constrained makes lines vertical. Also, the other one, the heart horizontal constrained, like the name already is implies makes lines are long. The next one are the next two. Constraints are straightforward as well. This one makes lines parallel, and this one makes lines perpendicular to each other. This constrained, I was showing the exercise to because it makes an arc, any line tangential to each other. This constraint makes two lines equally long in dimension. Um, I would not recommend you think this constraint at the beginning off your sketching, but afterwards, if you created some off the dimensions because it can lead to some problems and this constraint here makes two points symmetric to each other in respective to another point to 1/3 point, I did not find a way to get this concerned working the way I want to. I want to work it. Um, so I have to skip this constraint for the time being The last year fix a point onto an object. It's also something I wouldn't recommend using because fixing points of fixing points on certain things can always lead to problems later on. So, um, my recommendation don't use it if you have to use it, do it. But always be alert that this could lead to problems, said the wife created other constraints and now have basically just to I have to give dimensions to my sketch, so I know how large it will be. As you can see, I can move the lines. Um, but I can only move from in a way that the constraints allow them to do so. It's for creating horizontal dimensions. So I can click on this line here, and I can now type in the size off the line. For example, this lengthy 10 millimeter speak s well s this line here and now I can discern that this line here should be 50 millimeters large on this line here and now you can see I have the mobile command because I have given all the sizes I have to this the size off this line is basically given through simple mathematics. Um, it can only be 30 millimeters long because for my 50 here, I have to substrate 10 from this side intent from this side. And now I have to only give them horizontal vertical distances. So this line here should be 50 millimeters long and we can basically, um if the distance between these two lines, which should be 10 millimeters as well. The last thing that we basically have to do is to discern the size of this one. But I will do this with a constraint. I won't use the, um, equality constraint. I will say that this line and this line have the same size on the last two degree off freedoms are always the, um, because ordinance off your sketch based on the center point off the card in its system. So I want to create, always want to create sketches that are based on the, um say the point of my co ordinate system. It's just something I like to do. You don't have to do this. This is just my way of doing. And with this we have, ah, fully constrained sketch. As you can see, the sketch lines become green. Then if we are finished with this sketch, we can press the close button here, and we're back into the, um you begin the part design if you want to create, or if you want to center you viewing window based on the stuff that he created, we complete this button here and you get you're created sketch in the center off your screen. And now we want to create three D object based on this sketch. Excuse me. And for this we will use the this command here, the pet A selected sketch which is basically extraordinary and extrusion command. We select this command unless you can see the, um the command already starts creating a three D object from based off our sketch If you want to move. Ah, the object in ah, 30 term like I do right now. You have to select the mouse wheel and your left mouse button put press them together and you can basically move around the object. Um, now we want to create the U proof Pro fire with a length of 150 millimeters. If you are happy with our sketch looks like or or three d object. Looks like we compress the okay button here and our 1st 3 D object is created. If we switch to the model step right here, we can see they have We have created a body which has an origin which are the which is basically the Origen called insisted off the body here and we have created a pet which is basically based on our sketch Anti pet command. Uh huh. Um so to some will rise our first exercise. We have learned to you see, Polly, like Amonte, I we can over the art woman in the circle of command which we which we will use in the exercise to a little bit more. We have learned the most off the constraints and how to use dimensions. The general work flow in freak it should be. Create your sketch as close as possible to your wanted three D object. First use constraints, then use dimensions and then place and then close last two degrees of freedom by choosing choosing to a point off origin for your two D sketch. And the last step is to create body with a pet command. I would show you when exercised three and four. Another way to create a three D body based on the judy skin. So in a student skin to the sketch based on the rotation command here. But this will be a bit later in the inter video or in the class. What I want to do now is to create three second exercise with you together. Um, And this exercise, I will show you the workflow with the when we're working with arcs and 10 general constraints, which is a little bit different than the easy exercise one. We should just give you, uh, general and standing with the workflow. So, um, to start off, we will create a new file. Onda, um, we will switch from the start module to the path design module here. Again, we will create a new body, buddy. Sorry. And, uh, create a sketch again. We will. You see X and y plane press the okay button here, and we are in the sketch mood module once again. Excuse me. Um, the second exercise, I, uh, little bit different than the previous one. It's a little more sophisticated in the design because using or oxen 10 turn gentle constraints, Uh, can be really frustrating in the beginning about that belief. Uh, if you practice it long enough, it gets really easy. Um so how well will start here is and again, like shown in the previous exercise. I will create the rough shape off the sketch and then use constraints and dimensions to finish my sketch and last but not least, I will choose my origin. The vote flow. He is a little bit different than before, because I need to start with the arcs here, Um, another silly software. Three of the option in in terms of the pollen command that you can switch really between creating arcs and alliance on. Sadly, this is not the case in freak out. So we have to switch it up a little bit, and, um, honestly, starting with the Oxus. Not a good idea. So I will start creating lines. Excuse me. I'm so the rough sketch again. I would just be as roughly as possible here, creating me life outline off the's my drawing. And now it will basically just put arcs in between these lines. I would go off this one little bit high up because I need to I need to get this arc here done easily, and I will use the second option to create arcs because I have my lines already light out. And now, Aiken, basically just point the start and endpoint of the ark like so and so just create arcs. And so your starting point in point size of Thea Don't don't, uh um, fret Too much of the arts look really rough around theaters. This is normal at the beginning. And, um, we will get the smooth ah, going between the lines and the arcs with e ngentle constraint in a minute. So this is the a rough outline for my for my part. And now I will first check if my lines are all connected to my arcs because getting the sketch closed, this is really important. Okay, so this is done. And now eso if he used constraints and you have, like, a complicated sketch, always check first. If your sketches closed. Eso if he starting and in points of every line are on top of each other. And then again, the next one is to smooth out any 10 gentle constraint before I do that. Actually, in real say that this line is vertical. So and, um, now I can use the term gentle constraint which is this one over here. Start to come constraining. Just click on the line and click on the Ark. And then this symbol over here will come and again the county ark Click on the line, Time and arc, and so you can work your way through this through the sketch, This one can become a little bit tricky. Um, but yeah, it's fine. So now the outline off the sketch looks smooth and almost exactly like I wanted to be, and the last part now will be to at my dimensions. And if I have the rough, the outline off my part, I will create the drilling holds eso dimensions. Um, the 1st 1 I will create. It's the angle between these two lines. Just press the line here and press line here, and I can gift my angle. So this is done. And now I can create the other dimensions. Um, let's create the horizontal ones first. This one and this one had a size off 60 millimeters and the height here between this and this this this one And now I can basically, um if the measurements to my arcs constraint off a radius year, this one is 15 millimeters. This right here is 30 millimeters. This is a 20 millimeter radius and this year again has a 50 millimeters radius. So no, the last thing that it's missing at two degrees of freedom, which we know it's the point of origin. Use this this And now the outline off my three d part is done. All that's left to do for me is to create the drilling. Holds the 1st 1 this year. Oh, so if this ever happens to you, um, if you're basically move out off the ah plane off the sketch, just press this button over here and you get back to the perp addict, Their view on your on your sketch. I don't know what happens just happened there, but, uh, discreet my circles here, see if there are on. So I have to put three degrees of freedom, which is basically the diameter oh, for each of those and the diameter is 10 millimeters. And now the sketch is finished and I can close the sketch, get the at the sketch in descended or my my graphics of you here, and use the pet command and end of the 15 millimeters off thickness. And, uh, if I'm happy with it and compress, Okay. So I know I have created this a little piece here, and I can, uh, save it on my computer if I have to. So to summarize now, on the exercise to we learn about working with arcs and lines. The general idea is to again create a rough sketch first with the line broke and then, um, create your arcs in a way that you start by the one end point of a line and move your act with another endpoint of the line and just put it in between. Um, if you don't get the endpoints, it's no big deal when you start you. When he started using constraints, just keep in mind that the important ones are if your lines the endpoints and start points off the lines or the arcs are above each other and afterwards used the 10 gentle constraint and the other constraints. Sometimes it's easier Teoh to start with the horizontal and vertical constraints. But this is something that's up to U. N. Maybe a little bit of experience. I hope that you can finish exercise, and in the next exercise we will move on to creating a sketch for the rotating command here 5. Rotation Sketeches: for this part of the class. I want to teach you to create through the parts that are based on the sketch for rotating. Um, the most common example. For example, a bottle, a bottle of water is something that he would create with the based on the sketch and then with a with a rotating command. Um, for the time being, we will start with the exercise three, which is a sleeve, a simple one. Um, and afterwards we would go over exercise for which is a bottle so way would create a body here again. And then the sketch X and by plane is fine. So let's talk about the technically drawing for a bit before we start into. I said, This is a drawing for the exercise three. And if you don't have any experience with technical drawings, this line here and this view republic probably confused. You didn't. But what this is is basically, um, it's I. It's a view inside, off the off the object what the dust is. Basically, you cut the object in pieces and look at the cutting site. It's if you think about it in a different way. Think about ah love off bread, and you cut the first piece. Your first, um, a slice of bread and the bread faults the slice fault. And you look at the size off the you look at the slice off the off the bread. This is basically what this Would this cut thus, now, this, um this view does it gives you an idea off how the object looks in the inside. This is basically done to show that the drilling hole, for example, is, uh, goes right through the through the whole body and that and that the thickness off this, um, war here is constant. Um, yeah. So for those off you that didn't know what this is, so let me get this pick and let's create the sketch for this. What we have to do here because it's a rotating body, we only have to create 1/2 off this sketch. What I will do now is create this sketch, um, on this side of the sketch and, um, use a rotating Kamande. Most people that never used too much off computer software in terms off three D have a little bit of complications with another standing like a visual off the off the object they want to create later on, because you have to determine rotating access for the command. But I will go into that in a minute. Let's just start with the sketch. I used to pull in, I in command again and just be really rough with fea outline here. Um, so this is the Auckland for my sketch. I will use constraints. Now, this? Yeah, this one. And, uh, this one should be verticals. And now I can show you another command, which is, uh, this one here, which basically creates smaller arcs between two lines. And as you can see, they already are 10 gentle, which is pretty helpful. Um, and with this, uh, the constraints are done, and then I have to use my, uh, dimensions. So, um, from this this side is five millimeters from here to here are 20. And from here to here are 25. And the length off this object from here to here is 40 millimeters. And now the only thing that I have to do is basically give this one here. It's size off two millimeters and this one here off. And now the now the sketch is almost done. Have three degrees of freedom. I didn't if it a dimension for this size here, which is also five. Um, As you can see, the sketch looked a little bit weird for a minute there. Don't Don't fret. If this happens to you, just do your constraints and dimensions. Sometimes it helps Teoh the sketch gets how you want to know how you wanted to be. Sometimes it doesn't. Then you have to just use the undo command and maybe move around a bit if other commands so other constraints and dimensions beforehand and then get back to, uh, the original dimensional construct he wanted to use. Um, so and now what everyone actually want to do now is that I want to fix this line on this axis here so I can use it this constraint. So I use this line and it's not possible with lines. All right, then they use basically this point in this line, and now I can give, uh, the dimension for the hole in the middle, which is from here to here is 20 millimeters. Um, because I only created t half off my sleeve. I only have to use half off measurements. Right, sir, Because it's a dime here. So now I'm finished. My sketches. Ready? I can close this up. Uh, get this in the center of my graphic of you again. And now I can use the rotating command. Ah, so I can see the command already itself has done everything that has need to be done at the sleeves created, like the way I wanted to be. Um, and you're it looks pretty good. And sometimes things dozens does not happened straight away. If this separate so you can basically choose here the access for the rotating A so you can see the excess already are also shown in the graphic view. So if you need a special rotating access, just look in the side and you can basically see it. My drawing This lies in the X and Y plane. So basically looks like this. And this command uses the vertical sketch excess was, which is basically the B y xs right here. If you didn't use the X and y plane, why you? Something different? Let's say used the he used the X and that plane. Your rotating access should be the X excess. But this is what I meant with that people. Ah, sometimes have problems making them, uh, visual off the object in their mind, based on the sketch and the rotating access. Any this is sometimes different needs a little bit of experience and practice because if I would use this sketch and use another rotating access three sketch would look a little bit different. For example, if it would use the X X ex excess, the object will look like this, Um, because the sketch just gifts that away. What I can't uses thieves that access it shouldn't basically use it because it shouldn't be possible. And as you can see, there's not change in the individual. Um, and if you see why excess the get the object that I want to be so rotating always has to, Sometimes you need a little bit of understanding off how the rotating command works and how this whole the appropriate sketches to look for it, and what kind of access you need to basically create the The object based on your sketch needs a little practice, but I think, um, it to you will get there if you would just do a lot off. Do some of rotating Kumar sketches in this. Use them in different ways. So you get an understanding off the off the command on. If you're finished, you can basically press you. Okay. The other thing that he can do here, you can also create half, um, rotating command. So you can, Or like, um, something like this is so you don't have to use 360 degrees if you don't want to. Basically, I want to have ah, whole sleeve. So press. Okay. Here, save the file. Oh, and we have done with it. Great. Um, and now we will go over the exercise for for the bottle. How? I will mostly use the pollen I command, um, starting from here and again. Yes, close. But roughly two. The finished sketch, like I want to be on here and here, and yeah, and close this himself. And the holds will no be filled with arcs. Mm. This one, this one will Something like this on and this thesis look so and this and this. Now, Theo, rough sketches done. Uh, like before now, we will use the constraints. I didn't see that on. Well, I created over redundant constraints. I will defeat this. And now I have to use the 10 gentle command, um, on the lines where the where the lines and arcs, uh, ton gentle to Java on. And I see that I made a mistake here, Um, a little one, because it's Arkan arc. So basically something like this, and, uh, this will be 100 here and here. And this one, this one and basically this and this. So you have this will come around. But I use e dimensions. Sorry for my creaky, uh, care. Um, so again, uh, using constraints only half off the constant that are shown because we're creating only half of the sketch. So this is 40. Um Oh, this was wrong. Actually, this one's 30 millimeters, this oneness 80 again or 40 on the top one here is 20. Mm. And now we have to use have to measure the height. So from this point to this point is 100 on from at this point to this point, Isse 90. And from here to here is 200 17 And push this a little bit. Burt's and last line will be from here to here, Booth. 300 right? It's so it's clean this up a little bit. All right, so and now we have to If the size of these radius here, this one is 15. This one is 15. Oh, it will be fatal. I would do that right now. And this one is 15 on the last one here is very nice. And with this, our sketches done. Um, just a little reminder. Um, the but the flow of the line from here to here, it's not done gentle because we have ah. Ah, hard edge here. And the same goes from here to here. Um, it needs you need a bit of practice to see what? Where you have to use the term gentle constrain and where not. But if you have smooth, smooth conversions between arcs and lines, it's always. And gentlemen, if you have edges between an organ in the line, it's not 10 gentle. This is the basic idea. Um, and I can close this, um use of this year, and I can use the rotation command again and was gonna click the Who will. My, um, bottle is done. Sorry, father. We had cut. Um, I had to do some of your life. Um, so what I want to do now? Because the but lists basically filled with solid with whale material. And I only want to have thickness of two millimeters. Like the sketch says, we have to use this command right here. Make a thick, solid. I know if the if the interpretation off the off the commands is just not good, But it was basically death. If you choose this size, just face or plane over here and just press this button, you basically create a sin shell for the for your bottle and just place it two millimeters right here, Ana present day and you have finished the bottles. And with this we're finished with exercise for thank you for your attention so far. And, um, in the next part, I will go over exercise five and six. 6. Excersice 5: so no one would create exercise five the goblet for the wine on that, we can drink out of it and feel a little bit like soc lannister. Oh, that could condone everybody. That's probably sometimes a good feeling. So I created a new fire search to the par design and create a sketch. I will use the X Y plane to create my sketch in. No, I would basically just start. Um well, I will show you a little need to the u Trickier because, um, I can create a line here and just switch it to a construction line. Thes constructors lines help me create my sketch, but they're not basically given to the pet command or rotation command. Um, so if you need to like construction lines to help you create other lines that you need, where you are, stuff just, uh, use this button on top of here to switch the lines between, um, construction lines and lines for for your geo geometry. So, uh, let's start with this line here, down below, and do it in the basic size like this. And now we will can create the first arc the second, you know, let's that one over here. Then we switched to the polling command on. Uh, if you have this problem that here desperately wants to give you the 10 gentle line, press the end key on your keyboard to switch the modes. Um, so this will stop. Think this and no one lost so really rough. And now we will use constraints. This this are too gentle on this. This are turned gentle. Don't sweat the small arc sent off year. I would create what we would create them in the three d party later. And, uh, so no, if the rough outline, the next thing I will do, I will say that this arc and the center point of this ark are on top of each other. Ah, this was bad. This was basically the only thing. So a safety who another not happen. And sometimes it's just drag around, right? And this point, this line so really rough. Put that one already. But here and, uh, do you think this line and say that these two, uh, the same sentence and this one is like this and no, we can use dimensions. The 1st 1 is this. Let's do all the ox first. So know me if given the dimensions to every arc. And now we can basically just, uh, measure the size thesis 40. Yeah, that's what I can do here on, uh, from year to year ISS succeed then from here. Two years is Andi from this point to that point are 23 I guess. And now we have just one degree of freedom. That's this line. That's Ah, construction line. And we can give them dimensions as well. But for that, we have to switch, uh, click this button here, and then we can measure the size off this light. Um, and trippy s long on a slow long s, um, its highest. The carpet itself. So now everything is done, and we can close. And no way we can, um, create with this command. Oh, I forgot the nine hoops. I'm sorry. And I forgot a lot the nine between at this point, This point close in this sketch rotating. So now we can create the government. Um, like this hers. Okay. Ah, Selectees to line soon with e. I know you can do it. This single our do it together with the commode pressed on, then make a fit it year on the edge and make it a two millimeter in size. And there's okay. And now basically the go, But this finished and we can drink out of it if you have printed it with something like that. So this was excised five. And then now we come to excess six. 7. Excersice 6: this will create in cryo um, Iranian. The part design, which is a good switch. This to tasks, create a body and start getting a sketch done and create the X Y plane Select the X and Y plane. And first thing I will do for this is, uh, at her Several opened the pdf so I can see home speak. Everything is and no, I can create my file. The first thing, the first thing I will do is, um, basically just create two lines like so And I would say that thes on top of each other and that these two lines are construction alliance, which I will need in the future. The reason I'm needing themis for the arcs off fidget spinner to get the basic idea ender in the size of it. And, um, I was stuck with the arcs. Um, basically like this. Ah Oh, that with the room. The wrong command center point creation from here. Two years, a bad right suck. And from so so and from here to here, really basic and basically no, you can just switch here from this point and just click the send points and just start creating the the, uh, connecting arcs. Um, so basically, the future spent as a little bit easier. If you know how to do it, then the goblet. Um, Now we will use constraints again. That, in general constraint is really important here. Ah, little disclaimer. I basically created this apart from memory, so I don't know if it actually would work as a fidget spinner. Um, but ah, I'm pretty sure it watch, but I'm not 100% sure because, um, yeah, I don't know if the sites long enough to for the for the irritation told long enough. So So just little disclaimer for me. Um, so the hotline is basically ready, you know, half under this left now is give a few constraints. Sorry. Not constraints, dimensions. And I will make this really easy for us. Um, I will say that This'll Sakiri is 25 in size, and this arc here created it to way too small thesis. And this looks really weird right now, but then don't sweat it too much. We can just basically click on all the Zarb's and say that they have the same size. And, um, this'll was maybe not a good idea. I mean, we have to start with the's year at first. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Jesus. Uh, but this looks better than the other one. And now we have thes and say, same size. Ana, we have to say far Sometimes it just unlucky how you are, how this world end up being, um that just don't panic. Just move around you. You have two degrees of freedom, right? So move around your stuff a little bit, um, to see if it if it helps. Um, whatever do now is a basic Discover sized to here, which is 19 years. And, um, from here to hear this, I refuse a point, dammit. From there to there is 45 such exactly in the middle. And I can basically give the size here, which is 75. So, no, it's it looks a little better. I have two degrees of freedom left, which will be basically these two points, right? So, no, my my fidget spinner casing from the outside is ready. All that's left for me to do is create the he holds for the Buren's and some in the middle . Uh, so this and this they have to be on the same point on the same line. And the difference between year and here. ISS 30 years, and, uh, the size of thes holes is 12.5 million years. And now I can basically select one of them and just say that they have the same size. The son of my sketches basically again. Ready? I can close this. Um, so now you can see that my construction lines are not visible and I can create the pet command, make it five meters, I think turn a little bit around. And now we have to select each each year, which is a little bit difficult in this programme. I admit, um, at least for me, because I'm used to seek a smart selection. Oh, Jesus. Now have to start over. Um, I'm used to a smart selection which I could not find in freak out. Um, but I think if you practice this and it's been longer Hey, will get used to this. Um, this would be all creative. Fill it again on the size of two million years. So now we have created the casing for the fidget spinner. Ah, and we basically finished 8. Outro: I thank you for your attention from the first school share class with three cut learning to do sketches and creating three D objects based on a two D sketch. Uh, help. You did not get bored during during this class while because it's a little bit longer than anticipated. But I hope that the exercises give you enough room to come back to the classes into what I have to say to the exercise and do the next exercise. Um, yeah. To summarize, we learned how to do sketches. We learned about the most used come our commands in the month in the sketch module. Blind about constraints, how to use them, which ones are important on which are not so much we used to. We learn about how to use dimensions, and we learned about the general work flow in sketches. Um, yeah. I hope this was a cat. Sorry. I hope this gives you the general idea and hard work in the city program in like a freak out on over. I see around in the next class
