1. Introduction!!: Hello guys and welcome to this course where we will be introducing the software called Bethel studio, which she's a music production program to make any style of music you want. In fact, we will be discovering each window of our door and learn some tricks and tips. So you can start easily with your first music as a beginner. In discourse, some given you the basic fuel need to start making music in just one hour a half. So you don't have to waste your time and start with your first project writing that next day. So without any further Tolkien champion, and start your journey of making music right away. 2. Overview: Hello guys, and thank you for enrolling in this course. So I hope you'll enjoy it. And after watching all the videos, you will be able to produce something on your own. So this course is about how to use threatened looks for you, which is a nice program with making music of any type. I'm using for this course as Studio 280, which you can find on the main website of FM studio achieve emerge line.com, you can chef associates on any browser. So to start, let's make our first beat. It's kind of funny, but this is the first beat everybody is assumed are on their first day on FM q2. Now let's discover some of the important knob and controls we have here on top. So as you can see those play and pause button. We have and poverty rate that the music is playing when we have the metronome that help us. If we have already an idea in mind of the speed of the music we reproduce. So we just try to execute data bits in by using the metronome. So basically those are the main control Z will need to know first, we have overhead position in return. You can have it a bit. And then sessions. We have also the spectrum of frequencies that we are going to explain later. We can have it's also into different types, the wave spectrum and the frequency spectrum. Then we have the DB measure. And over here we have the CPU or memory for you. This shows you how much memory you're using. So basically if you have, for example, in your lab bytes of memory, that means that your project should not to go over 4 thousand megabytes in here are each with crash. So this is the piano roll where you can write your melodies and chords. And this is the place to where we arrange on the end, end of our song. This is Dominic server. We add effects. This is the browser where we can find our sound sampled bag. This is, I'm not DOCTYPE of view where we found the elements of our song. Let's now use the playlists. Let's add a new pattern. So basically every written can be done in different patterns. And the patterns are the main elements of our arrangement. As you can see now we have two different patterns. So now we are playing the button mode to play the whole song, we need to click on the Send button. As you can see, we are not playing the whole arrangement. Over here. We have the volume That's controls everything. And also we have to pitch not that controls all the elements. We're good so far. 3. Step Sequencer View & The Main Controls: Hello guys. So in the last video where we did this. And now we're going to try to discover the sequencer. So those are the default precautions. We have a kick snare. Let's choose can you put them make you feel? We have this button, Play button over here. Then with this, we know that add some color to our B. We have the piano roll visual model in addition to the default settings visual mode, where you can see how the proportions are represented in the piano roll. So as you can see, onto professional, are represented in timing between modes in the piano roll. They've got also this green button to turn northward on those elements. We have in the sequence. 4. The Graph Editor: For this icon over here, it's for the graphic editor. So basically those are some advanced nodes we've got over here. For example, we have the velocity control, does control not the volume of the notes, but their intensity, which is quite different. We have also this window where we can change the notes positions will have also these release velocity. Not that doesn't tell us in the percussion, but in other instruments you can hear the difference. We are also undefined control, which is basically a pitch parameter. We added the pan control. Let's control the volume of the left and the right channel. You can only hear the difference with the left rights monitors like headphones, speakers, et cetera. Then we have an x y controls, which are a frequencies parameter. So the X control is low filter and the Y Control is a resonance Theta. Then we have the shift control that just moves the notes into the right as you can see over here. So let's see the beats. As you can see. The basic copy and past case for gods that we know work is us, say, inside of our program. 5. Sequencer Elements Options: We can go to our elements in the sequencer window, is we can rename our precautions. For example, change their color and their icon. This is the graph editor we've seen previously. We have the load stance. If you want to change the whole sample mean or the one. We have the uncertain button to add another instrument. As you can see, this plus icon over here works just the same as Ts certain button. We have the Expand button to make a debilitation of an instruments or percussion, etc. And we have the replace them Delete button to replace or delete some elements. We have the touch button to delete the plane key from the past buttons. We've got the two or 48 steps, which are basically some rhythms we can use. Then we have to rotate left and right. That's the key. So basically a bar is in the piano roll from one to two. We've also got, which is a volume knob and the other one next to it. It's the norm. Then we have those numbers that represent the numbers of the mixer channel. So basically the kick is assigned to the mixer. Number 1, the plus to the third channel number two. And so when we add a new instrument, we fit a number to it. So which can't be sent to the week 7 where we have disrupt HR areas. In effect. 6. The Sampler Overview: Hello guys. So in this lecture we will be discovering some important elements we have in the sampler window, which is the window over here. So we have this tiny kick over here. So by clicking over here, we can load another sampling. We've got multiple manipulator, not such as narrative reverse. Then say Dan swap stereo button. We've got also to normalize button for a maximum boost and amplification of our sample. We call the reverse control to reverse sample. As you can see over here. You got this one called samples of data would say shift our sample from the beginning. We've got this one to control the length. Then we have those fade in and out controlled. You've got also this one called crossfade that creates basically a look if we maintained the key. And this trim knob done basically shorten our sample from the end. And over here we got to three knobs that are basically time stretching. So as you can see, we have this boost and EQ not to amplify our sample. Then we've got this one that I really like to make on something more stereo. You can hear the difference using headphones. Then we've got this carbonyl and this one for resonance that's amplify the last type of frequency of our sample, as you can see in the spectrum on top. And we also got these extra, I will stay manipulation of this. 7. The Editing Tools: Hello guys to sneer sections. So now we will try to introduce the important elements inside of the piano roll and everything you need to know to start using it. So let's add first an instrument. I am going to use fn keys. The grand piano preset, which is a stock plug-in Dutch, came up with fl Studio. So let's make something in the piano roll. As you can see over here, loading FL kids will cost you about a 100 megabytes of memory. Let's choose a new pattern. As you can see, we can make our notes shorter or longer as we wish. So this is a basic chord. The main tool zooming need to write in the piano roll is the pencil. Choose domain and now plays on and the Cut tool to cut in the notes. So to delete something, I just click the right mouse button and slide to the note psi1 and delete. You can change the node color over here. We got also this Mute button to mute some notes without deleting them. We can mute nodes, also with a double right-clicking the mouth in the notes We want to mute. And with the same operation, we can unmute them. So over here we have the piano roll of all the elements we have in the sequencer. So far. 8. Advanced Options: Hello. So now in this lecture we will try to discover the measure tool is, we've got in this window, we have this tool called the glue to merge two nodes with each other. We have this trim tool that shift and bitter or not, so they seem justified day where played realistically. The flip to randomize, to generate random notes. We've got the top. We have this tool for articulation. In this window, we have some controls like in the graphic. Then we have this Window folder. So as you can see, we have multiple grades that we can apply. 9. Portamento,Slides , Scales & Basic Chords Progression: Hello guys. Through in the previous video we have seen some tool is uncontrolled. So let's now make a simple chord progression and let's discover other stuff we have in the piano roll. So as you can see, we can control the loss fatigue. If you need smoked individually. We can delete the selected notes by using the shortcut Control plus x. So this is a button to make a slide effects between two different nodes. But we have also this tool to make a slide effects in the beginning of unknown. Right now. In this window over here, we have multiple chord progressions as we can. We have also some scales we can use, so we can know exactly what are two different keys, but go in with each other. 10. First Arrangement & The Grid: Hello guys. So in the previous videos, we've seen some of the domain Windows we will highly used in FL Studio, which are the sequencer and the piano roll. So we learned how to use them and we did discover some controls that knobs that are often used. So now in this section we will move to the playlist. So basically the playlist ID window where we arrange all the elements of our songs to get the results. So let's discover it. This first change the colors of those patterns. It's, the courts would create a video. So now that we have a basic rhythm of a piano chord progression and they don't beat. Let's discover the controls and parameters we have in this window. So as you can see, we have distinct grid, which is basically the same as the Piano Roll. Greg, we've seen in the last section. We've got those tools as well. So we've got the pencil to draw, buttons, Cut tool, and to look, to zoom in and out. Plane tool to paint the position p1, huge button to museums and mute. Brush. 11. Types Of Elements In The Playlist: Hello guys. So over here we can find all the elements we can add to our playlist. So as you can see, we created for patterns so far. So we can use both this window and this one on left side to select a pattern. So as you can see, we have about 500 trucks in our playlist, which is quite a very big number. Plus four the time we have an unlimited time. So now we will discover other type of elements we can to the playlist because we don't have one liter patterns. So for example, this icon over here is for the audio clips. We can find audio clips in our browser. So if we go to the park, for example, in the browser and choose a sample or audio clip and drag it directly. To apply this, we will find it in this window of audio clips. For example. This window is for another type of elements we can have in the playlist, which is the automation clips. And automation clip, It's kind of a graph that current control. And thus we want to move. So for example, let's say I want to control the volume of this. I wanted to move. So all what I need to do is right-click create automation clips, and the graph will appear in the playlist. So now we can edit the graph as you wish by provisioning the wind and adding points and so on. And depending on this graph, the volume knob of the arch will move. So you can see over here your model note is morphing by ESA. So basically those are all the type of elements we can have in our playlist. So we have patterns, audio clips, and automation claims. 12. The Advanced Options: Hello guys. So now in this video we'll be discovering those icons over here. So let's start with this piano icon That's refer to the patterns. So basically those are some types of views we got over here. For the automation clips icon, we have the step button that's enable us to draw freely the shape of graphs we want. And we have the slide icon, touch enable us flied the last points, as you can see over here. As for the audio clip, the main button is the one of stretching. To make our audio clips longer or shorter. As for the 0 growth, it's a non-touch prevents clipping. So basically when we have an AudioClip that's placed in a short little of time, we may be jumping from a negative value to a positive 1 instantly, which goes the clipping problem, which is getting over 0 dB. That's why we enabled this button. So the wave growth 0 before moving to another value. So we present this probe. You can see now that DOD Eclipse and the automation, we add our presence over here as well. For the arrangements, we can rename, add another empty arrangement or clone it. So as you can see him or sequencer, we have a new image. So basically every element, whether an audio clip or an automation Revit to our project, is going to be optimistically to. The extermination camps can't be assigned to the maximum. Over here. If we choose to your garage patterns, we will maintain the order often sugars, but the one from top to bottom for a few years. As you can see, we have pretty much the same parameters for the audio clips, like the elements in the secondary. 13. The Mixer Overview: Hello guys and welcome. So in this section we will be discovering the mixer. So this is a new project to start over. So let's make our beach first and go right ahead to the mixer. So as I said earlier, every element in the segment circuits being assigned to the mixer examined the sites. We go to 125 Mixer Channel and image some split to two. I would say Steven allowed a left and right one. So over here we've got our mass, which is the Mixer Channel that all the 125 channels are assigned to. So as you guess, that green button is to turn on and off the mixture Sona. This one is on the volume. This one is a plant icon over here, is to reverse the polarity. So basically the possessive signals that can be negative ones and vice versa. This one is another reverse icon, but this time it's for the left and right outputs citizens. So basically, if you look closely to this click Install low in the master channel over here. We've got tooth extract tiny little peaks over here. So when I click in the left and right are reversed, you can see that they got swapped up, which means that the output signal is now being represented in the right touch put thing and vice versa. 14. The Mono & Stereo Control: Hello guys. So in the last video, we did discover some parameters in our mixer window and we will continue. But let's add an SLT. Let's make a new arrangement and write the course progression in the piano roll. Now, I will try to make a simple melody on top of our courts. I am using as a shortcut to make this type of copy paste Control plus B and Control plus x to the need to read selected note. To make a new thought for a down payment using shifts and up and down arrows, you can move, it cannot move up or down movement by using Control plus the same policy. So I am making this PNG 16 form mixin understanding purposes. So now let's assign our planning to come back to this node. So basically, this is a mono and stereo. Know, if we move it right, we are only getting 10 families in the country. And if we move this list, we will get the stereocilium. That is basically that In this times performer here, those are some of the few icons over here, multiple cycles. Hello, Mr. Chairman. But I personally prefer complex 2 Overview. 15. Slots & First Plugin Effects To Discover: Hello guys. Through, in this lecture we'll be discovering does slots we got in a mixer channel. So basically those are our sin affects infants. It's shiny. Mixing boards, change slots. So basically we can have ten different plug-in affected to be a challenge to a single Mixer Channel. So if we do the mat, we will have 10 times 125 plug-in effects that can be inserted to our mixin class two of the master challenge. But this is going to be quite insane. And diamonds pretty sure that you want me, the amount of turbulence to make, to have some athletes can see I am adding 32. That gives me some room. However, I wanted you to make attention to the snowboarder here that gets activated and become yellow. Up global effect. This icon is an on and off of all the built-in with frequent sense. In the next section, let's add the 50 abandoned, which is a volume. And so now our broken and fix, it can change the position of broken effects using the mouse. I can also fall under a mixer to buy a right-click on its green button. 16. Main Plugin Effects: Hello guys. In this video, we'll be looking into the main plug-in effects. So we did discover already the reverb plugin affects when the first imbalance. Now we'll look at the 3D parametric AQ, which you've, I can say a frequency controller. So do is read movements are the frequencies batch consist of the sound for piano. Using those seven bands, we can elevate or reduced a power of those frequencies that you can see over here. I can use the mouse scroll geometric krater pick. I can say that equalizing effect is one of the main effects that a producer should know how to move. Because it is very important because at some point of your production is only, you will find out and catch a lot of elements are going on in your composition and contaminants are fighting each other. That's why we use an equalizer effect to clean sound. And it gave us space to all the luminance of our trap. As you can see over here, we can directly use the band from the screen and we can use, It's always invites that we have to delay effect, which is a protein to move out these the same. So still we have mosquitoes, moths and continuing got the results we want. This is also a prefix. Now to be honest, enough to lift the left under counted the phasor. So basically these are two pieces with a nice corner to corner solution. Then we haven't addressed spit would choose, I would save us money money later. So as you can see, we have different right? Then we've got this terminal aspect. And this is often what shapes your constituents and mess with it. They teach wide. So basically do is often used to treat know how to use. This. We go to our next slide is an overview of my scene. 17. Mixing Process Saving & The Assignement Of The Sequencer Elements: Hello guys. Through in this lecture we will be looking at the other elements. We go to the mixer window. So over here we can rename and change that color icon of our mixer China. Then we've got this one called file over here. So I personally use this one. For example, if you save a process I really like, for example, I want to save the arrangements to affect music project. So I click on Save mixer. Trucks are, let's say a 12 up and one are the same. So I click on track state to open. Okay. We also got to fly out to dock our Mixer Channel to the left and right. We should also know this type for a full assignment of our sequencer element to the mixer channels. So basically by clicking in here we are moving the color and the name to the mixer Chang automatically. We can do this also to multiple elements. So we'll do it to our defaults precautions, for example. So what we need to do a senate percussion, then go to the mixer channel from where we wanted to start out assignments, then click on channel proteins starting from this track. Then our precautions will be fully assigned with their names to the Mixer Channel. Mixer channels. So if I change assignment number 2, I know having our click Search, but the name and color in the mix new number. So we need to fix this. So what you need to do if he wants to maintain its identity and the mixer effect is to move it all to the right and left arrows. We can do with also to multiple channels, as you can see over here. So now we have different numbers over here. 18. The Mixer Channel In Common: Hello guys and welcome to this lecture where we will be looking at the last things that are necessary and important to know in the mixer window. So let's add the new pink. As you can see, we can assign multiple elements to the stand mixer, to R2 kicks are now assigned to the mix. So now I want you to watch what I'm going to do. Let's get to it. First. Dose effect. It's had a new European influence. Let's copy our meeting to the new piano. To this Mixer Channel. I am high frequencies. So the idea is to combine two to get one. But let's say I want to delay effect. That means that I need to add the reverb in each one separately. But that's not the case. So I am going to use this jerky exception should prevent boat out the unknowns. So let's rename it first. Remember this Mixer Channel is not attached to any fundamental for our sequencer. And now I need to send to tonic solutions to this one. To all what I need to do is to detach them first from the master channel like death. So now we can hear nothing because they are detached from our final output channels, which is the mask. So now I will attach them to this one. And this one is attached to the Mastercam. So basically the boat piano Mixer Channel is playing the role of an intermediate fill. If we add an effect in it, it is going to affect both our pianos at the same time. So that's it for the mixer section. I know it's a big number than the previous actions, but it's worth it. I hope you didn't learn how to effectively use to make the window and see you in the next one. 19. Merging Patterns & Reducing CPU usage: Hello guys. So in this lecture we will be looking at some additional. So for example, we can get it an old pattern, cutting it like this. And by clicking over here and the merge button clips, we can create a new pattern with the order we want it. Captain shoe, true? This icon over here that refer to the. So if I make a click, you can see that it is now playing ten voices. That's because every key is considered a voice. So basically we have four keys of the chords. Gain k of 10, Rudy and everything times 2, which means five times two, because we are having two piano instruments. So what I'm trying to say is more the voices that are played are increasing, the more our CPU is going to have a hard time processing all those elements at the same time. Therefore, you will have a crushing problem and our project will not be smoothly play in. That's why as a relative solution, we can consolidate our patterns by rendering them into audio clips. We can replace the pattern now when the audio clip is only generating one voice rather than 10, ten voices. 20. Linked Automations: Hello guys. In this video we'll be looking at the correlations with respect to any page. It will only has two C02 moves comes out to be so China, everything is good. Let's make a new arrangement. So now I will add an EQ to put our piano. So let's say that we are not going to use two weeks. Because let's say we want to make some pianos differently as we created here. So instead of creating a your information with the same bank, and they didn't teach to look exactly like this, this one. We can use this option here that says to the controller and the rod watch we need to do is to choose overview. Our permission slip. Without full Bowtie2 can check this button over here. Automation clicked. 21. Advanced Tips About The Automation Clips: In this video we repeat this country year which was different. Wow. While we have given you these values between 0 or or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or four. So basically that's exactly the same as x. We edited our automation clip like so without touching the max and Min nodes. So basically when the top in reality, it's already good Fibonacci and treat all down. It's basically immaturity personally. 22. The Layer Plugin & The Cut Itself Technique: Guys, so in this lecture, I would show you some other techniques we can use inside those to sequencer. So let's say we want to create a unique kick, my leg kicks. So let's do a text. Now after we choose. Let's find the mice. So as you can see, if we want to change this, That's why we will add this plug-in called layer so we can control all the four kicks using it. So always we need to do is to select our kicks. Then we can press on set children and that set, we can now use this plug-in. So when I press a key on the for kicks will be played at the same time. So now let's add the ride. So I can show you another technique. Let's make a nice audio clip in the playlist so you can see what's going on. So now we have the right answer. Module clip has an element of the sequence. So we notice that our right is too long. Therefore, when the second ride yz plane, we have this part of the first ride that still going on. That's why we need to go over here and press in this option of cut itself. So now we can get rid of this part. So whenever the next stride starts playing, the older ones stops right away.
