1. Intro: What's up, guys? Welcome to the course. Now, the first thing I want to do is try to explain how you convey best. Use the course. All right, so this course is definitely made with you guys in mind and that I'm not teaching you necessarily the way I do things. But how I train how I practice, how I come up with the way that I do things All right, So these air like tool sets that you can use to create your own style. All right, I'm gonna break down how this course goes, And as soon as you finish this, what I want you to do is take the technique progression, uh, video courses first. All right. Like even though you think you already know how to do waving technique, how to do all that, you already understand the progressions. It's still really good to go back and fine tune the little things. It's always it's just the little things that make the biggest difference. All right? Just one little body movement. One little concept, no metal we put into your mind will change how you go about things. And, you know, it's really good to go back to the basics. Even I go back to the basics. Sometimes when I feel like I'm stuck and I'm stagnant, even with all of this creative creativity exercises and all these little concepts that I have been working on, sometimes I'm just like a little state. I feel a little stale with that. And whenever that happens, I always go back to my basics. Always go back to the technique and, you know, it always resets me. All right, So always trying to go back to the technique, even if you know it. Even if you're advanced, even if you know you've been doing it for years. Word of advice. Always, always, always do your foundation. All right. Not to that you can do the drills if you if you want. The drills, I think are very, very important. Especially if you're a beginner. Because these are the drills that I've been taught and jewels that I do to, you know, in grain all the technique into my muscle muscle memory so that everything becomes natural and so that it looks like you're not trying. Remember? It looks like you're trying. Then you're probably trying, but you want to make it seem like it's so easy. You want to make it seem like a second nature. All right, So once you learn your technique and you've done your drills, then you can hit up the concepts area. Now the concepts area is just ideas, games and you know, things that will expand your mind now, Like I said before, this course is basically for you. It's not for me, all right? These are just the tool kids like I said before. So I don't want you to leave this course looking exactly like me. What I want from you guys when you finish this course, is that you have a greater understanding of yourself of your body. You know, to be a good dancer, you have to have really good body awareness, self awareness. So by the time you're done with the end of this course, I think you should be able to understand how each muscle feels, how each movement should, you know, be incorporated with the music. And you have a better understanding of control, technique and creativity and performance and musicality, you know, And as I always say, if you like something, do it If you don't like it, then just skip it. You know, if it's not for you, then skip that concept or you can just tweak it, change it to make it your own something that something that resonates better with you. These air just the concepts that resonate with me and really helped me explore space and my body more. And allow me, Teoh, you know, become a little bit more dynamic with my waving. So I don't do the same type of moves over and over and over again, you know? And that's the most impressive thing trying to be different, unique and, you know, obviously clean at the same time. But creativity is a big aspect, especially when there's so many people who are dancing the same nowadays. If you look different, you're going toe feel different, and you're gonna stand out. And you probably going to catch the eyes of people who, you know, our worth being impressed. Why you listening to me talk? Just go to the next video. All right, All right. Cool. I'll see you in the next video off to the studio. Let's go back 2. Waving Progression 1: All right, so we're gonna go by progression. So this is progression one. If you don't know how to do any kind of waving technique yet, or if you're just starting or if you need a refresher course, this lesson is for you. So we're gonna do. But we're gonna do very, very basic waving technique. All right, so we're gonna break it down, Teoh Each body part. So what first thing I need you to do is keep your arms straight as possible. If you have a mirror, that's great. So you can see how straight your arms are. See how straight my arms are. It's like a table top, like a complete T. And when I want you to do is I want you to reach reach on both sides. If you stretch your arms out, keep your arms straight and Korean. All right. So when we're training and when we're drilling, we want to keep our armed a straight and as clean as possible so that we can get used to this kind of gonna be tiring. But that's why we're gonna develop our stamina throughout this course. Alright, so first thing we're gonna do fingers up down. We're gonna bring on knuckles up. Risk is gonna go up Elmo, Shoulder, chest, shoulder, elbow, wrist singers, fingers. Okay, let's try that again. So we're gonna go fingers, knuckles, risk Elmo, shoulder, chest, shoulder, Elmo, wrist knuckles and things. And likewise, we're gonna start from the other side. So we go fingers, knuckles, list, shoulder, chest, show elbow, wrist knuckles, things. So what I want you to do is really focus on each body part that's moving. So really, really focus on one side of this is what it feels like to have my fingers going up down. See, everything else is still the only thing that's moving should be the thing that is going up or down. This is where the wave starts, and it's gonna go throughout your body. Okay? Their wrist. Oh, chest. Ideally, we're going to do one side at a time just so that we can keep our mind focused on one side . You have to worry about the others. Get 12345 chest. Okay, so we're gonna take the chest. We bring him back out. Shoulder, elbow, wrist knuckles, things good opposite side fingers. Nothing. Wrist, elbow, shoulder, chest bringing back shoulder, although just knuckles. Good. Put it all together. 123456789 10 11 Bring back 123456789 10 11. Okay, pause the video here and continue once you get that down. 3. Waving Progression 2: All right. So for progression, number two we're gonna do is we're going to smooth it out. Everything that we took from the first progression, we're going to try to make it smooth and not sharp. Or Jagger noticed how When I'm doing my waves, I'm trying to make it a smallest possible, making it smaller than it was from the first progression. Likewise, on the other side. Yeah. So how do you do that? Remember, I want you to really focus on the only thing that should be moving. Everything else is still and this is called Isolating the way here. Good. Again from the other side. Great. So we're gonna do is we're gonna practice it going big, and then we're gonna make it smaller and smaller every time. So here, number. Keep it on the line. Keep it in the line. Big. Big. Okay, so that's what makes it clean. Every time you bring it up, it goes back into this line back into the line. All right, so now that you get a bigger you want to make it smaller every time, Okay, Smaller it is. And the more isolated it is the cleaner, it's gonna look, So it's not gonna work if I'm moving too much and I'm going like this cause you won't be able to see it. But the effect is is if I stay still and then I go and I were really small. Oh, it shows a clear path so everyone could follow it while they're watching, all right? 4. Waving Progression 3: Mawr waving technique. Okay, we did. Up, down. Now, I want you to think of it like going forward, all right? It was my hand this for right here. I'm actually boil up this rotating this doesn't this not only gives it the plane of going up and down, but also gives it a more three dimensional planes. I'm going here. All I'm doing is rotating slowly. Okay, so my rotations look like this one? No, my elbow is rotating in words, and my shoulder's going roll. We're going and we'll cheating, mumbles, rotating shoulder and then we're gonna bring it to our chest. Okay? From here, it's gonna be the same thing opposite side. So what I'm doing is from my chest, I'm rotating the shoulder forward, almost going forward wrist, and then we're going toe Roll it out on my fingers. This one takes a little bit of more practice because you're not only going through one plane, you're going to multiple planes once you learn it. This is a very powerful trick to make your waves look more dynamic. 5. Isolated Waves Finger: isolated waves. First thing we're gonna do is we're gonna isolate with our fingers fingers, and we have a lot of bones in our fingers in our hands. So we're gonna use all of all of our joints do a little up, So we're gonna try to do the only bring our fingertips up, bring it down, Uh, our fingers event on their knuckles here, okay? And then you're going to try to roll it out. So the idea here is not to be big. It's to be nice. And I want you to think of liquid or water when they're doing likewise with the other side . It takes a little bit of dexterity, but when you get it, it becomes really, really easy, really simple. And this goes on toe are liquid waves, which we're going to cover in a little bit. So practice in front of the mirror. China isolate that way. That's going forward. I don't start slowly and then work your way up to a little bit faster so fast 6. Isolated Waves Arms: So now that we have our fingers, we're gonna isolate the arms, do this full arm area. Same thing from our fingers we're gonna do is obviously we only have our 14 arm here. But we're going to do is we're going to try to make it look as smooth and fluid as possible . All right, so one of the techniques and tricks that I like to do is bring my fingers up finger isolated movements. A handful. Oh, assumes it gets here. It's kind of like I'm pushing it back a little bit. All right? So it doesn't stay like this Doesn't stay in one spot. What I'm actually doing is I'm almost, like, pushing it back. That's an exaggerated movement, so I'm going pushing it back, all right? As you can see, it doesn't stay in one place like this. It's actually moving back, coming back full. OK, but when you practice it, you can practice it big, and then I want you to make it smaller every time. Remember, progressing to smaller micro waves microwaves. Okay, so we're gonna go here. Oh, as I'm doing a smaller it looks less and less like I actually moving my arm back and forth , but I really am very small. Very notice. I'm moving it small as opposed to in one spot just fine also. But this makes it a little bit more dynamic because it adds a little extra layer of movement. Thank you. 7. Isolated Waves Elbow: Now we're going to do the elbow now. The elbow is probably one of the more difficult parts of the wave because people wonder how you can get your elbow to go above your wrists and your shoulder. It's easy. All you have to do this right for this trick, take your hands. Palms facing forward you're going to do is you're gonna rotate it to the back, right, And then you're gonna bring your arms down. And now you have this 90 reaction, right? Okay. And you're gonna bring your shoulder. I mean, not your shoulders, but your elbows up like it's on a string there. Now it's higher than your shoulder. And it's higher than this, Obviously. All you gotta do this, we'll bring it right here. Flatten out your wrist again. I'm out here doing it up. Thanks. The idea here is not to be like this, but to be more like this, supposed be subtle ways should be subtle. Okay, so what? I'm doing it. I'm actually I'm actually rotating my shoulder forward so that my elbow has room to go up. You can see from the side. It's all trickery. It's all like a magic magic trick, so I like to think about it. Okay, so we're going from fingers to risk, and then it brings it up. Okay. Remember, you rotate forward. That's how you bring the elbow. 8. Isolated Waves Shoulder: So now that we got the elbows bringing into our shoulders Likewise, I'm bringing my elbow up by rotating. I'm also going to rotate my shoulder in a circle. So what helps is if you do this motion, I'm just rotating it forward. Yes. So let's try it. Should try one side fingers elbow. See how I'm rotating. It actually brings my shoulder forward. So, beside it goes here. It's like I'm being pulled. And that's what it's like when the wave goes still you because it's actually moving your body parts out of the way of the wave. If the ball of the waves air here, Wayne. Okay, pulling me forward. It's pulling me in a certain direction. So the wave is actually pushing me up. Here. Here, here, here, here, here, here, pushing up and forward. Okay. Then you're gonna bring him back out. So you bring it in shoulder, you completely reverse the movement. So you're gonna be rotating backwards, pushing 9. Isolated Waves Chest: now. The chest. The chest. Okay. Chest. No, we do the chest. I want you to think of not your shoulders, Not your shoulder and your chest going opposite directions like this. I want you to think of your shoulders, actually going back and down while you're just going up, going out like this. I'm going. So I'm eating for a diagonal up when I'm doing chest as I'm doing, this kind of feels like my back is being pushed in and my flats are being squeezed together . Okay. So really, you're flexing your back muscles and you're just making your chest go out. So when you do it, chest pops, it's really from your back, Moses. OK, so you go like here. Four boom. Notice. My shoulder went down and back and my chest went up. Good. Again. Yeah. Push now. The chest isolation 10. Body Wave: Now we're gonna work on our full body waves. You step back for a little bit, so it's gonna look like this. Okay, so just like we broke down the arm waves, we're gonna segment each part of our body. So we're gonna make it from head for chest to our hips, down to our feet. Okay. So for our head, we're gonna go forward up chest, hips forward, and then we're gonna sit, and then we're gonna kick our legs out. So this is where the wait ends again. The wave starts from her head, Head forward, back chest, and notice how my head goes back and it goes back to center, my chest. And then it goes back to center and then bring my hips out after the move goes to the body . Goes back to center. Sit. What? Bring it back. Reverse the movement. It's chest had boom. Good. Try that. One more time. Head Boom, boom! Great. Now we can had our hands to I'm gonna do a wave. Same exact kind of wave. Except instead of going from here, we're just gonna do it from both sides. Waving at the same time, wave head, bringing back outdoor notice. When I'm doing the wave here. I'm not dropping my arms. I'm leaving it here. Okay, So wherever the way it goes and it leaves, you leave your body parts there, no matter what. I tried again from this side. 11. Kick Wave: kick waves Kick waves is a great way to start your way. If you're not starting from the top, you can always started from the bottom. How? What you gonna do? You gonna kick? Just like you're kicking a soccer ball, You're gonna kick on, bring it up again. Kick. You know, remember to keep all of your weight on the back foot. You decide. Kick. All right. Now that you've got that kick in that body wave, you want to make it small number is always gonna be progressing by making it smaller and smaller. So what you wanna do is one. Once I kick to be smaller this when it's smaller, it's more contained. And it makes you with your body out. And it gives it a little bit more of a dynamic movement to it. So kick All right again from the side. Small. Okay. Slowly kicking and body waving it forward. Do it faster 12. Drills 1: drills way. 13. Drills 2: way. 14. Drills 3: single. 15. Drills 4: - all right, way. 16. 3D Waves: way got basics down and that you've been practicing your technique. We can start getting two different concepts that make your ways a look a little bit more complicated. And they had an extra layer of creativity to things called three D wings. So when I mean three D waves, it means that I'm going from one plane and I'm going to try to go into the next plane, which could be coming out of a screens. I want you, Teoh. Imagine that you're actually going to be breaking through a screen if you're on a movie. If you're in a movie theater or if you're like watching TV one of those fancy three D monitors, then you're going Teoh, see these waves coming at you. All right, so first thing we're gonna do is we're going to start as if we're doing the normal way that were doing in the previous section. Except let me let me go back for a second with our feet, we're going to stagger our feet. All right, so one foot is going to be in the front and one is going to be in the back in the side. It's gonna look like this, OK? And I want you toe understand? The shifting of went going forward and backwards, Okay. For our purposes, it doesn't really matter which foot goes in the front and which foot goes in the back. You just have to know how to shift your weight between each floor. All right, So for this lesson, my right foot is in the back and the left foot is in the front. So far forward, we're going, Teoh, bring our wave. Not up to down. We're going to go forward And here's where we're going to lean forward so improbable, overweight to the front and then bring her chest out. And as you can see, my hand is still staying in the previous plane that we're doing. It's not going forward with me. It's only going forward, it's going back. Stay here and then my chest is gonna come out, and then it's gonna go to the other side and bring it back. So neutral. All right, so I do it again. I'm gonna be going forward. Bring it in and then coming back Now you want the forward wave to be as dramatic as possible. So he's a small is big, big, almost like you're trying to bust through the TV screen and then come back. All right, so we're on the side, the way it looks like that. So now we're not making go up to down. Remember, one forward to back forwards and back. All right, again, forward. Forward. Remember, make that chest as dramatic as possible. Now, when you do this, you don't have to stop at the chest. You can use other things. You can make this hand become the three D wave. So go or speaking to use the other hand. It all depends Which wave you're gonna emphasize Which part of the wave you're gonna emphasize, right? If I'm gonna do it with a body wave, it could be like So the concept is I want to be pulled in the direction that I'm going. All right, I'm gonna be pulled forward or in a different direction. Like if I'm going to use my body wave as an example would be going forward, right? It's already going forward. So how do you break this and be pulled in a different direction? We're going t o be pulled in a side Would direction, sideways direction Okay, So a kick and then go back. Right. So notice that we're bringing our way forward. And then when you get to a chest, were gonna be pulled to the side and they come back. I remember trying not to move any other part of your body except for the part that's moving within the way. So this might take a little bit practice to make it look good. So drill this kind of movements, Have fun with it, and try practicing different types off three D waves, three different types of motions with your different body parts, all right. 17. Vibrating Waves: Uh, all right. Vibrating waves. Cool again. We're going to be using this wave as our example. What? I really want you to focus on his this up and down motion when you're vibrating. Okay. So when you're doing this, I want you to make it smaller, get a smallest possible almost like you're shaking, right? That's a vibrating effect. You could make it as big as you want, but you want to be controlled and fast. We're really helps is if you tense your muscles, get tense tenants. Okay. All right. So now that we have the arms, we were gonna be vibrating with her hands, and the movement is we're gonna bring it all the way up to our elbow. So I'm doing I'm doing the same thing. I'm just now adding the elbow into it while trying to keep this still as possible. So I'm not going this going. Remember, you kind of want to be subtle. Nothing should be moving, except for the wave and the vibrating. Now we're gonna get to a shoulder, our shoulders just going up and down again. Not moving this, Children, no. Make it small. Bring the chest. So the chess is the same thing is shoulder right going up and down? What I'm doing is Mexico, almost like tiny little chest chest bumps into the other shoulder down to the elbow, back to here and then let it go. Okay? This'll one takes a lot of practice to do. So what I suggest is you break it down by body parts and then vibrate only those body parts with his hands. OK, now I'm going to vibrate elbow. I'm gonna bring it to the shoulder. Just other shoulder elbow rest. Okay. So you really want to get used toe isolating each body part so that do you have more control over my breakaways? All right. And then you should be able to do with every single thing, your head, right, all the way down to your legs. So that is your exercise for doing the vibrating. Yeah. Boom. Use this to hit those things in the music video, remember? Subtle, subtle in the key 18. Animated Waves: uh, I really like these ways. I use these weights a lot, but these air the most tiring waves you'll ever do. Alright. And I'll tell you why. Because animation requires your movements to be very sporadic and irregular. So it looks like you're in animated movie, or like, Claymation or something. So when you're really doing with the mussels, is your tensing the muscles of the entire time, so it makes it look like it's a jagged movement. All right, so this is animation for you. Okay, So that's not That's not body doing the robot doing a little body is actually a smoother movement than that. Right? But you can use animation in your little buddy, but that's a different thing right now. We're doing enemy ways. Okay, So two techniques, animation and waits. So you're going to do animation. You're just gonna take a random movement, right? We're gonna do this very easy. Very simple to do. Just going up and down, right? So what you're going to do is you're going to get tense your muscles so hard that you're actually kind of shaking a little noticed that I was shaking a little bit. What? I'm doing this, all right? It's like you're squeezing as hard as you can, and then you're just gonna be moving, moving, moving It makes it movements look very, very regular. Weird. Well, that's animation. You're supposed to look weird. Okay, so the whole time I'm moving on stains tenses possible, like so tense right now, Like my blood pressure is gonna go on the roof or something. Right? So when your waves normal ways, my regular attention we're going to do is we're gonna squeeze, all right, our entire body. And then we're gonna do our ways. What's really good about this is you can make these super clean and super super small. So what I mean by that, is it from here? Right. Okay, So you're exercise for this one is obviously one. Practice your animation, practice your animation. Try to make it looked as weird as possible, right? Okay. The weirder the better. You really need to get out of your comfort zone for this one, okay? And then what you're gonna do is we're gonna try to break it down into different parts of your body. Not not by like, isolation, like with them before, but I mean, like less side and right side. All right, so we're only gonna use this side of her body, and then we're gonna stop, right? So now we're breaking it down to have, And then when you get here, this is where we stop, and then we're gonna bring it to the other side. So that's a brand new sequenced. Decide is a different sequence. Go again? I'm super tense. That's the main thing. You need to get out. Okay, So break it down into, perhaps again. Okay? Next exercise. What you're gonna do is each wave is going, Teoh, move you in a different position. Okay, so pick three positions that you're going to do. We're gonna go here to here. Teoh, back here. Okay, So when you go here, Wade, you're wave here Went All right. So pick any three positions that you're comfortable with, and then enemy your wave to each position, right? 19. Bullet Time Waves: What's up, guys? Rich styles here today I'm gonna be teaching you guys how to do. If you're a movie buff like me, Hey, really enjoyed the movie The Matrix. Then you'll know what I'm talking about. This is that concept where action is happening and then actually just stops, and then the camera pans around them and then continues the action from wherever the camera left off. Right? So that's the same concept that we're going to be using. So this technique requires two types of other techniques. All right, so this one requires waving. Obviously that includes trace waving, and it requires six points. So if you guys don't know what that is, I'm gonna leave Lincoln description of other tutorials that teach you how to do those kinds of moves. So the first type of bullet time waving that we're going to do is do this trace waving one arm and then we're gonna do is we're going to use the other arm. And when we get to our shoulder instead of continuing on the front or we're going to do is we're gonna reach behind us, Okay? As far as you can. This also depends on how flexible you are. So what you're doing here? Grab okay from here. This is where you got a fixed point. So you're going to bring this around and you're gonna try to go around it. It should be on the opposite side of your body, All right. And from here, you can do whatever you want with it. So you already have the weight right here in your hand. You can weight it down, bring it back and wave it out. So the effect here is wave. Stop. You're gonna look at your wave, and then you're gonna go around it, and then you're going to bring the way to another part of your body. - So this concept can actually work for other types of movement. It could even be a simple is this wave hold wave out six point way. Wait. I don't 20. Circle Waves: circle ways like these ways because they kind of had a little bit more dynamic to your waves. It's almost like I'm doing a little bit of three D and just a little bit. It's not exactly three D, but it gives it a little bit of a three D effect. So what I'm doing is okay. Yeah. Boo. All right, so how my own doing? That isn't actually just rotating everything again. And I always emphasize this, but isolate each movement. That's how you get your ways to look really, really nice. Risks rotating my wrist. Honestly, it doesn't really matter where you want to rotate it as long as you keep it in that same circular motion. Okay. Wondering one arm wrist. Guess what's next. Yes, Elbow. How you doing? This is trying to use my elbow joint to create a circle. Now, when you're first starting this, it's actually going to end up looking like this. What I'm gonna do is I'm actually using my fingers like this. This simulates that there is an energy ball that's an emanating from the hands here. All right, so you want to keep this fingered movement hold times. So now we're going to use our imagination to this. Because we're going to do is we're going to user our eye sight to follow that weight. Because what, We're going to do it with Energy Ball. We're going to throw it outside of our body this time, so it's not going to be easy. Teoh trip to follow, right? So if I bring it to this side by throwing, the only way for anybody to follow that way is if you actually look at it. Okay? The shine again. So we're going to bring this wave to this side. Now it's here. The only thing you need to do is make sure that you watch it and then you have your fingers actually emulating the wave. Okay, So, exercise. I want you to pick a place where you're going to do your wave could be anywhere. And then I want you to take your energy ball, throw it up into that body part, and then catch it. And another body part. So what I mean by that is I'm gonna pick to body parts. All right? Now I'm gonna use my legs. Means my feet, and I'm gonna go all the way to my hedge. Simple. Back up for a bit energy I'm going to do is I'm going to take this with you. All right? Very simple. So again Here. So you went from here and then came out of my head, and then I just took it out and throw it. Plan. All right, So, exercise, find the entry point. Find the exit point for your wave for energy with all right? 22. Fixpoint Wave: six point ways. Six point weights. So just like when you're doing waves and tutting two techniques that are mashed together to make one brand new one, right, So we're doing is waving. We're doing six point again. If you don't know how to fix point, do a very quick quick. All so X pointing is you're going toe Leave your body part in a fixed point in space. Which means if my hand is right here, it's gonna be stuck here. I'm just gonna go around, right. Just go. It's not gonna move. This is also a cousin of mining. When they do the mining, they're stuck in a box. Yep. Same thing. Okay, so this time we're going to be doing our hands here. All right? So the windows were only going to use one hand to six point. The concept just helps you create your own moves, all right? 23. Levels: levels levels is an easy trick that I like to dio when I'm really bored. And I can't find where to go with my waves. Actually, get me out of this little box that I'm dancing it. All right, So what I mean by levels is we're gonna break it down to, let's say one to let me back up. So three and then four and five looks and then five I was on the floor. All right, so this is a This is a nice game that I like to play. Remember, One is a top. Anything above your head to is this normal, everyday way that we always uses the basic standing opposition. Three squatting. All right, four is you're gonna be on your knees doing this wave, and then five is there on the floor, right back up. So five doesn't matter as long as you're like lying down under Sputnik wherever. So I assume you've been practicing your other ways and all that stuff. But for this one, we're gonna be using the basic way. You can also use all the other techniques into these levels that we were doing before. All right, so let's start with level 11 is everything that appeared. Everything that's above your head. I don't have to go too much into detail on level two, but two is easy. Everything that we've been doing here, Right. Okay. Now let's go to level three. Level three. Same thing. Except we're going to be going a little bit lower. Right? We're gonna be working in this space. Okay, Level four. Everything on your knees. Anything. You okay? Now, we're going to do everything on the floor floors a little bit trickier, because this one, you're gonna have to find more creative solutions to getting from a to B. Right. So it makes it more dynamic and more games or morning. All right to practice, doing waves in different levels. 24. Speed Control: speak control ways. All right, Speed control, as you can tell by that was going fast and then slowing my waves down. Right was going fast. Slow, fast, slow. Fast, Slow, Fast, Slow. All right, so how we're going to start with that is we're gonna use a lot of our core, so as always, keep your core tight to record type. That's just entire. Right. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna try to keep a good stance going shoulder width apart, right? And then what I'm gonna do is I'm going to just go back and forth from side to side. But what I want to do is I want to pretend like there's a ball here. I'm gonna smash the wall. My shoulder. Right. So I'm gonna have an abrupt stop. This is the dining stop. Part of it. So do oh, go practice in different directions when you do too. Right. But the most important thing is that you go fast and then you stop the upward. Remember, use your core. Tighten everything. Great. Now, when you get to stop, this is where you start to slow down. Slow motion. So what? I want your arms to do is I want You aren't trail. It's like a friend. Do you? What? You don't think you like? You're in water, right? And everything is just going. It's just following slowing. Or if you're in space or something, there's, like, no wrong answers here. So you're gonna go here and then bring it all the way. So my waves are actually coming from the center and going out all the time. So exercise that you can dio I want you to pick three different poses. It doesn't matter where it is. It would be like one to three Doesn't matter. Picked three random poses. All right. Something that that's easy to get from A to B deceit. So you go 12 three Obviously, it would be very difficult to go from Appear to the floor, but it's doable, right? So 12 Great. Okay, reading the writing is waving, creating holes and going to their ways also like to call these like portals because, you know, going from one portal and then you're gonna end up in another part, right? So what we want to do is we want to create different holes. Doesn't matter what kind of holds you're gonna create. Boom. And this one's a very easy one. All right. So you're exercise is try to find creative past polls or portals, whatever you wanna call it, and then just try toe, See if you can wave right through. Remember, here's a hint. You don't only have to live your arms through it. Example Woo. Okay, remember, Sky's the limit. That's your exercise for for threat, right? 26. Trace Waving: uh, trace waves. Trace lays. All right is very popular. One was when you see almost annually dancer doing so Not gonna spend too much time on it, but I'm gonna try to make it as interesting and creative as possible. All right, so this is the normal trace. Leave that. You see everyone do wave. That's cool. All right, So why don't we instead of just doing well, armed the body all the way back? Why don't we try going around our head right here? Okay. Here, then we're gonna trust Leave it out. All right. So let's do the basic trace. Wait. All I'm doing is regular wave, always or shoulder using this other arm to follow the wave. You can see this actually makes the effect of the wave bigger because you can follow easier . All right. Head down. 27. Wave Tutting: wage tutting. So wait, cutting. This is, uh this assumes that you know how to touch, but because this is awaiting course, I won't go into detail on signing, but I'll give you a very, very basic angles that you could do with your ways. So these air combining two different techniques styles into one to make it completely different, have a style. All right, so it's gonna be like, Okay, notice that I'm always going to wave into one of my joints. All right, So if you know how to touch, you know that each movement is only moving from the joint. So this is my wrist joint elbow joint, and then, you know my shoulders back. Right? So now we're going to use three different angles. Nineties. This is an angle brings This is an angle. This is an angle, and then this is a legal. Okay, so we're gonna do it when the waves when you get to the shoulder band. Bam. Okay, then from here, we're gonna bring it into another ways. So try to break that down. Let's try another example. Bread Easy. Just so you guys gonna get, you know, some ideas. So let's dio okay, we're gonna work with one harm. So we're gonna go hear some random wave to our to our shoulder when you're down this role Here. Wait. Okay, wait. Shoulder right. Rece rolled down. Left flat. So how this risible works is I'm going like this. Some bring it in. OK, bringing my wrist will in words. I'm here to bring it in by up Right again. Bland this role Bring in down. Oh, okay. That's just an example. You guys can use any any type of touching you want. It should be very, very simple. 28. Musicality: All right. So now that we're basically done with all the technical stuff and creativity aspects of it , now we can get onto musicality. Now, what is musicality? Well, to make things simple. Okay, I'm just gonna make it very versatile. All right? Basically, you're taking the moves that you know that you've learned and you're going to be singing them, singing with your body. Yeah, that's a weird definition. All right, let me explain. Okay. Musicality. Let me explain. Musicality really quick. What is musicality being musical? Duh. No, that is true. But how can we You know that deeper into it, what does it really mean to be musical? So musicality is basically how you interpret the music. There's really two ways to do it. The first way is perceiving the music like it's coming into your body. All right. Although the beat, the the feeling, the vocals, you know the riffs, everything is coming into your body. And then the second part is how can you be creative and interpreted in a way that suits your style and your feeling of the music? You know? How does music make you feel? And that is your interpretation. When you're dancing to it. Okay, so that's just the most simple definition that I can, you know, give you guys so that you don't have to think too much, Remember, just receive all the information, and then you're going to try to be creative with that information. Some people like to think that musicality is you're born with it. Either you either have it or you don't. But I think it's a little bit more complicated in that in that some people are just more adept at, you know, picking up the patterns in a song because each song has its own kind of patterns. So let's break it down into how a song usually goes. Usually goes by eight counts. All right, so each one is a council of like, 12345678 and then repeats to another eight count. And this is usually how the pattern of music goes. OK, so I'm going to put on just a an example song, and then I'm just gonna count the counts in this. Okay? So I can go. 12345678123456781234 slash 678 You see, after each account, another layer of the song gets Ah, you know, added onto it. If you notice the first account was just the beat. The second account, the base came in and then the third a count, you know, a little bit more. The snare was coming in until the vocals came in. So that's how you can distinguish, you know, each a little part of the song. Okay, so exercise number one for your musicality. I want you to dance, using your waves in eight counts. Here is an example. Okay, you're gonna have to count this out, too. So each wave is gonna be one account, so I'm gonna do the wave on. Go. 123456781234567812345678123 456 12 for six. Okay. Very simple. You're just going to drought your waves for an entire account. This is just so you can get the feel of a song. Now I want you to pick a song that you like to dance to Okay. Pick any song. It doesn't really matter. Slow song. Fast song. Just pick any song and then use that exercise. 29. Musicality 2: Okay, now we're gonna talk about the three levels of musicality. The three levels of musicality include riding the beat, sitting in the pocket and beat manipulation. All right, so let's go over riding the beat. Writing the beat is very simple. It's what we were doing before. Actually, it's pretty much on account every time. But writing the beat is the drums. So it's what keeps a temple on the music. That's what the drummer does. Keeps a temple of the music, right? So exercise, take a song, any song you like And then I want you to just really focus on the drum so the boom boom boom can All right, so when you first do this, I don't want you to dance yet The only I mean, I don't want you to do any waves. You can dance, but I don't want you to do any waving. I would just want you toe not try to dance, Just groove to it. And what I mean by groove to it is just, you know, just how does it make you feel inside? How does that beat make you feel? If makes you move like this, then just let it happen. All right? Don't stop yourself, but don't force yourself. Just listen to it. If you just stand there and you're just listening to it and nothing is happening, that's fine, too. Just listen to it. Because when you stop focusing on trying to dance to it and just listen to the beat, it's going to happen by itself. It's gonna happen naturally. An example is, if you ever take public transportation, there's always people just listening to their earphones. All right, if you're on the train, on the bus, whatever notice people around you and people are just gonna be standing there listening to their headphones and then just gonna be like this just gonna be bobbing their head. What are they doing? They're just grooving. They don't know that they're doing it. But there just listening to the song and it's just happening is just happening naturally. Right? So that's not what you do. Just listen. Okay, So I'm gonna do it. Boom, boom, cat boom cat boom, boom, cat cat. Okay, Notice how I'm Onley thinking about the boom cats. Drum snare. Okay, so that was the first exercise in a musicality level. So the next one is sitting in the pocket. All right. Sitting in the pocket is an old school term that a lot of ah funk bands used to use My pocket. They mean, like the groove, the song Sometimes that could be the riff drum pattern. Or it can be like the vocals, Your sin. Basically, it's just any part of the song that, like an instrument, OK, it could be a guitar piano, whatever. So you want to isolate that sound? So this exercise is we already did the drumbeat. I want you to listen to a song that you like. Of course, we're always gonna listen to songs that you that you are into doesn't matter. No judgment here. Alright, but listen to the song. I want you to pick out different instruments and on Li. Listen to that for a good 16. Accounts are for as long as you can. Okay, I know that this song has a really nice, um, base. That's why that's why I'm I'm listening to it. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna isolate just the base. Okay, So here's an example. So, sure, I was in the back of my mind. I was listening to a drum and staying on beat, but I was really focusing on the base, which went du du dude in doom Todo Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim to do them too. Right now I know that that riff is going to be repeated throughout the entire song because that's the main pattern of the beat. That's the pocket that I'm, you know, sitting in. Okay, so try that with another song that you like, and each time, try to pick a different part of the song. Okay? Don't try to use the same instrument the same time. And really, listen, you'll be surprised at the kind of things that you here. Okay, if you have to. You have You should be like in a really quiet place. That really helps. Okay, Beat, manipulation being manipulations. What? You see, Ah, lot of advancers do especially with their waves, because they're going to be like they're hitting everything, you know. And that's the That's what we're going toe work on right now, that one ISMM or like a sprint. So it only happens in like, very short spurts, as opposed to riding the beat and sitting in the pocket. That's like the marathon. That's how you're going to ride the entire song and then throughout, you're going to start hitting the beat and then going back into riding the song. OK, so that's how I want you to think of it. So it's like you just casually dance to it. And then when time comes, you hit the beats and then go back into dancing. When you listen to a dump stuff song or or like a really hype song, you're gonna notice that there's a build up right all the way to the drop. And sometimes the buildup is where you're gonna hit the beat. It's gonna be a lot of beat hitting to it. So usually Bill goes that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that boom, boom, right all the way up to the beat drop. So here is an example of something that is kind of like that a. That is a form of beat manipulation that you can dio that is something that you can hit. Okay, so here is your exercise pick, a song that obviously has a arise into a beat drop whenever song. If you know a song that has that, or if you don't, I will put some examples in the description. Okay, So listen to a song that has that. And when you get to that, uh, when you get to that rise, rise, rise, rise, rise, rise. I want you to waive the entire time. Okay, so it goes that I let that thing that All right, So you're gonna go that I that I know. It doesn't matter what we're gonna do. It doesn't matter. I just want you to stretch up for that entire that entire phrase of the rise. Okay? All the way to drop. So usually those rises air from one. A count to four. Count by what I mean by that is it's usually like 12312345678 Or it could be, like 5678 drop. It's either an account or half of that. So I want you to figure out which one it is. It's either gonna be an eight or a four count. Okay? So figure out the count, and then I want you to waive that entire count into it and then stop before the B job. Okay, so that is your exercise. Find the song, figure out the count and then wave through the entire, uh, count. OK, so here's an example of me doing it, Theo. Okay, so when I'm hitting those beats, remember That isn't isolate, it should be isolated. Case on. I'm doing the wave I'm waving. Nothing else is moving. That's how you're able to convey what you're hitting by isolating the move when you're doing it, right. So really, really focus on the technique also. So get your technique down before you're gonna start. Uh, tryingto do beat manipulation. Okay. All right. So that is a very, very basic lesson on musicality. There's so much more that you can dio with it. But those are the things that are the most important when working with waving, waving technique and all the creative stuff that we did.
