1. What is learning? Learning redefined as I understand it and as you experience it: What is learning? My definition of learning is a process I am doing now to acquire new or modifier, reinforce existing knowledge, behaviors, skills and values. That's very similar to the Wikipedia definition, and the main thing to me that's redefined in that is the emphasis on is a process. Now learning is something you're doing now, as long as you are open to acquiring new or modifying, reinforcing your existing behaviours, knowledge, values and skills. So there's a lot more to learning than just knowledge. In fact, you could argue behavior, skills and values. Those are much bigger things. Toe learn that just knowledge alone, at least from my view, most of my learning idea in my life has been to gather as much information as possible on Add that to myself. So I thought, Is learning is something you did in school, and I thought of it more like you could look at building wealth that you try and add and build up all these things and that everything you learnt. It's like putting money in the bank so that once you've learned it, it's just there forever, and you want more money in the bank. So with learning my thought was always to ADM Orm, Orm orm or and to grab Mawr things toe learn all the time and to just go through and try and learn as much as possible without regard to the quality of it. What I didn't realize is that learning is a process that only happens now. You can't learn yesterday or tomorrow, because yesterday you'll end up forgetting the details of it, and tomorrow never comes. Today is the only time you can learn, and today starts new each day when you wake up. So learning I've discovered and redefined mawr as a process. Learning is something you do all the time, and it's not like putting money in the bank. There's a lot of different quality to the things you learn, and when you learn at a greater level, when you learn with the intelligence that is running your whole body instead of just the mind, then there's fantastic learning available because that intelligence learns also, it learns the same way you might think of your mind learning, and in fact you could say you are that intelligence rather than you are your mind. To me, the mind is something I wanted to stuff with knowledge. I didn't even realize most of my life that I needed and did learn all of my behaviors, all of my skills and all of my values and that at any moment I could learn or modify new or reinforce behavior, skills and values in addition to knowledge. So to me, my definition of learning is a process that happens now in order to gain and modify existing knowledge, values, behaviors and skills. So that, to me, is a much more broad definition of learning than I ever imagined in my earlier life. And that, to me, is exciting. That means I can learn every moment of every day. No matter what I'm doing. I'm always learning. There's no moment where I'm not learning unless I'm dying, there's to pass in life. There's growth and there's decay. If you stopped learning, you will decay your mind first, then your body, so that, to me, is a big, broad definition of learning. That redefined gives me infinite power to learn this moment and to learn anything and to change anything about myself. So I hope I can share that infinite power that I've found within myself that you have to that learning unlocks. Join me in this journey to unlock the infinite power. You have to learn anything right now. 2. If you want to learn anything, all you have to do is do it! It is that simple!: If you want to learn something, there's absolutely no substitute for loving it in doing it. That's all you need to be really good and easily learned. Something is toe. Love it and do it. How many times in your life have you noticed? If you wanted to do something and you did it, you could get good at it. It's really that simple. The reason it's so difficult is because most of the learning situations were in our times. One. We don't want to do it or times when we don't put enough time into it. So, for example, I wanted to learn to code earlier this year, but it turned out I didn't want to do it, and I didn't put enough time into it. The two key things for learning are that love it and put time into it. I've played a lot of video games in my life, and I've gotten very good at playing a lot of video games because I love playing them and I kept playing them. That's all you have to do to learn. You don't need any other tricks tips. That's it. That's the utter simplicity of learning. You love it and you do it almost any time you've struggled. One of those two has not been there. You didn't like it or you didn't do it. Nothing substitute for actually doing it. I've get questions. How are you teaching all of these different courses online? I've done all these things. I do all these things. That's how I learn. I do all of these things. I like doing them. Therefore it's easy learn. And when it's easy to learn, then at some point it becomes easy to teach. If you love something and you do it, you will learn it. It's that simple. If you do not like something, it will be very hard to learn it compared to when you love doing it almost all the time. You've seen people who were really good at something. They really liked to do it. When you see people learning something and it seems effortless, it's almost always because they like to do it. I was really good at math in school, and it's because I liked it. I liked doing math. I wasn't as good at writing because I didn't like writing as much. My skills also transformed based on what I do what I love to do also changes. So if that changes over time, the only thing you can know is Do you love doing something right now? And are you willing to do it right now? That's all you need to learn. Do you love it right now? Are you willing to do it right now? It's that simple. And the beauty of it is, once you know that you can find what you want to learn and you can learn it effortlessly. I hope this has been useful for you, and I will continue to go into much greater detail on what the implications are of those two things being the core of learning. 3. What you love to do times how much you do it equals rapid and fun learning.: if you want rapid learning, understanding that how much you love doing something multiplies with how much time you spend learning it. And that's the result. You get out of it. So when I love to do something and I spend a lot of time doing it, I get fantastic learning results out of that. If I hate doing something, it almost doesn't matter how much time I spend on it. So quick. Review of multiplication in multiplication of anything. Zero, you get zero. So that means if you can't stand doing something, you can spend an infinite amount of time doing it, and you won't hardly know any more about it. If you love doing something, but you don't spend even a minute learning how to do it, then I'd argue, How do you know you love doing it? You get nothing out of it. You get no learning out of it. At the same time, if you like doing something a little bit and you put a little bit of time into it, you'll get a little bit of learning out of it. If you love doing something and you put a lot of time into it, you get rapid, gigantic learning because you eagerly take everything in. Yes. Give me more. Yes, Yes, this is good. And you're open to changing anything that came in wrong. Oh, whoops. I didn't do that right here. Let's try it this way. I didn't do that right? Let's try it This way. You will. Rapidly it a rate you will very quickly try new things, new things, new things. When you don't like something, you will hesitate to try anything new. You will resist being wrong. You will fight against yourself in your learning and it's miserable. Trust me, I've obviously done it a lot dating. I refused and didn't like to date a lot of my life. And it took me a long time to learn how to do it right when I was ready to learn out of dating, it was very easy to learn out of date. It was very easy to learn how to date. Once I wanted to learn once I stopped being so frustrated with it. With my business online, it's been very easy to learn because I love doing it and I put the time into it. You could argue I've never spent more time consistently focused on learning anything with There's a little resistance. So I have a high school education, plus a four year undergraduate degree, plus a two year master's degree throughout most of that, I resisted throughout a lot of that. I did not enjoy my learning overall. I did, though, and that's how I was able to get good grades, not because of any ingrained intelligence, although I told myself a lot that that was why I loved school for most of the time I was in school because school built my ego up. I'm smarter than all you guys. I loved school, and I worked hard at school. That's why I did good at school. Still, I love my business a whole lot more, and I put a whole lot more time and energy into it. And I feel like I've learned in three years with my business as much as I learned in 19 or 20 years of school, easily, I'm saying, probably not kindergarten or first grade. You really learn a lot in those grates. But for the rest of the time in three years I've probably learned as much doing my business online as I learned from about third grade through my master's program. The principles I've just given you are the reason I love doing what I'm doing online. I love educating people online. I love learning about all these things that are new and challenging online, and I do them. I do them a lot. I do them almost every day. I do something. I'm on you to me every day. I'm on Facebook. I'm on YouTube. I love what I do, and I put time into it. That multiplies when I have nearly infinite love for what I do, combined with thousands of hours of time and insane amount of learning happens. That's how I'm able to teach so many courses on you. To me, you have the exact same ability because all you have to do is love what you do and do it. It's that simple. At the same time, life makes that really hard. Lots of times, most of the things you get to do in life you won't want to do you won't like and then you won't have time to do the ones you do like how does that sound like your life? Right now you're trying to learn all these things you don't like and you're desperately trying to hide away and get some time to learn a few things you do like I find when I focused completely on learning what I love. The amount I can learn is so far beyond any speed of learning I've had in my previous existence. It's unbelievable. Putting numbers on it just doesn't even make sense. I will continue to share more with you and go so much deeper into this. I'm grateful to have awesome capacity to learn, and I want you to discover you have the exact same capacity to learn as I do. There's no difference between us when it comes to the potential each of us has, and I want you to be able to unlock all of your fantastic learning potential. I want you to be able to make a awesome contribution to the world based on your learning, because that helps me when you are able to reach your potential. When you are able to learn when you are able to do your best, and when you are able to learn something you love, you will give that back to me somehow in some way. So that's why I'm here to give to you because giving new gives back to me. So thank you for sharing with this with me, and I hope it's been useful for you. 4. Learning is what happens now when I am humble and live with an open mind.: learning from me happens with no effort. When I am humble, when I live in the moment and when I have an open mind, it happens effortlessly, instantaneously, with no resistance. That's a lot different from how I thought learning Waas when I was in college and I'd sit there banging away at thes textbooks, thinking, If I just read this a little bit more, I'll get it. If I just finished this chapter, then I can go drink and have fun. I thought learning was supposed to suck for a lot of my life. I am shocked and how easy it is to learn things when I'm humble when I'm present. In other words, when I'm focused when I'm paying attention to what I'm doing and not thinking about what I'm going to do next week or what happened yesterday and when I have an open mind, an open mind means I am open to suggestion. This was my single biggest learning problem throughout my life. Having an open mind, my mind was just open enough in class to realize I didn't know what I needed to know for the test, and I should probably learn whatever I needed to know for the test. That's about all I was willing to learn for most of my life in school. What do I need to know for the test? What do I need to do to show how much better I am than other people? That's almost the only thing I was open to learning. If you've been told early on that you're not smart, that you're not a good student, you likely don't even have that opening where you want to learn what you need to do on the test. I am grateful to have gotten a lot of good grades throughout my life. At the same time, I worked for a week at a temp agency and I failed the test at the end of the week. Think about that. I certainly had the previous learning experience to make it easy enough to learn something new, but my mind was so closed I didn't even care. I didn't even let anything in having an open mind. Being humble and being present allow me to learn effortlessly because there's no resistance , there's no distractions, and I'm open to accepting the ideas. So when I'm humble, I'm willing to admit I don't know. And that helps me open my mind when I'm present. It's easier to be humble because it doesn't matter who I am. I'm just here. That's all I am. I'm right here. That's all I need to know. I'm here. I'm with you right now. That's all I need to know. When I'm humble, I admit, you know what? I don't know most things. There's most of the things there are to know. I don't know them. That allows me to look at something and say who with an unconditioned mind. Oh, think about the first time you looked at a tree, you might not even be able to remember it the first time you look at a new animal. That's why people love to travel so much. You want that first time I remember the first time you saw someone in person that was attractive to you Nude That or that. Wow, that moment of silence, if you will, where you just took in everything like or maybe the first time you've seen a new animal where you're you just look at it like, Whoa, that moment of open, humble curiosity where you just want O instantly absorb everything that comes prior to naming it the mom or you just look like, Whoa, the first time you walk into a new place that you've never been to, where you're looking around. But before you start naming stuff like, that's a painting who that's, Ah, waitress, that's a table. Before you start naming that moment, where you just walk in and everything's fresh, everything's new. And then you start naming it and you start trying to cut it up and say, OK, this is one section is in that moment where everything all at once is fully present. This could be easiest to remember. Think about if you're married or you're in a relationship, you value a lot. Think about the very first time you ever saw that person with my wife. The very first moment she kind of materialized. She walked into the restaurant and I saw her, and before I thought anything the next thought that then came was Wow. So the easiest way to describe what I felt was Wow, that sensation makes learning effortless. When you have that, you can learn effortlessly all the time. You have that sensation available always at every single moment. If you want to learn rapidly, that's all you have to do is tap into that. It's already there. That's the unconscious part of you, that part of you that's not actively thinking but the part of you that is aware it doesn't use words unless it puts them into the mind. It just is. It's above thought if you want to learn effortlessly having humility, being present in the moment. So not one leg in the past and one leg in the future, but being right here now with me being humble of saying, putting your head down a little. You know what? I don't know everything. I've got something new to learn and then having an open mind, like what you're telling me, might not be crap like that's the bare minimum for it. What works best is you're telling me this out of love, and maybe I should try it. That's when an open mind feels like when you hear something you say, You know what? Maybe I'll give that a try or wow, maybe that's true. I hope this has been useful for you in assisting your journey on learning, being able to learn is a miraculous, awesome thing, and I want you to reach your full potential right now in your ability to learn. 5. Learning is what does not happen when I think I already know.: I have been surprised to discover that the main barrier to my learning always was me. I got in the way of my own learning by not wanting to learn things and by thinking I already knew. Here's a great example. I thought I already knew how to live a good life. I thought I already knew what you needed to do to be a good person. I thought I had enough values. I didn't need to learn any new ones. And that stuck me perpetually for 10 plus years in a state of basically being a teenager, where I was selfish, where I didn't know how to be a good person. And when I opened my mind and said, Oh, you know what? Maybe I don't know that much about how to live a good life. My learning started happening so absurdly fast. It's hard to believe I have learned more about living in the last year that I might have learned in the last 20. I have suddenly been able to change and modify and learn new all these new things in my life that seems so hard, like, how do you get up in the morning? Well, you go to bed, You get up at the same time every day. You get up immediately When the alarm goes off, No snoozing. You get straight out of the bed if you need to sleep or nap a little bit. Actually, you have a separate place outside the bed that you do it. How do you eat healthy. You be aware of what you're eating. You don't mindlessly stuff things down your face. But you take one bite at a time noticing. Okay? I just ate this bite. That's probably 10 or 2030 calories. Okay, I'm gonna eat this next one. You slow down. How do you get in? Better shape. You are aware. I'm aware every day of how much exercise I've done have I went to the gym and did I at least go take a walk? Did I go for a swim? I'm aware of what I'm doing. These things seem so mysterious before, and I could never learn them because my mind was closed. I thought I already knew. Oh, I don't need to learn anything. I already know. I already know. That was my biggest barrier to learning for most of my life. thinking I already knew and is the biggest barrier I see in other people. When you get a suggestion and you say Ha na don't need to do that and you've never tried it before, that's thinking you knew. Now that doesn't mean every person that comes along and says, You know, you should try doing this is right. The only way to know for sure, though, is to give it a try. For example, I thought praying for most of my life was crap useless. Who listens to that? I'm just talking to myself. It turns out it works really well, and all I had to do was try it. All I had to do is open my mind a little tiny bit to say, OK, I'll try that I'm suffering. Maybe I'll try praying. I've tried a lot of other things when I've been in pain, so I guess I should try praying. Whoa, praying works. Oh, man. Praying actually works. How many times that I heard that before I tried it. Opening your mind is the biggest way to increase your learning, but it's really hard to open your mind when you're not humble. When you either think you're better than other people. I was an egomaniac with an inferiority complex. I will go around. I'm a way better. New? You're such a bum. You're stupid, You're fat. You don't look good. You're mean. I found a way to find myself better than nearly everyone. But then it only takes one person for me to back. Oh, I wanna be like you. You're better than me. It only takes one person for me to really feel like crap about myself. And then I would do things. And then I would feel like I'm the scum of the earth. And it's hard to learn in that state. Also, when you feel all alone when you feel like everyone's better than you, it's hard to learn in that state. Also humble implies you're in the middle. You are nothing. You are not somebody. You are no one. I am no one. I am not somebody. I am no one. I'm just consciousness the same as you are. I'm no better or worse than you are The things I've done Don't make me any better or worse than you are The things you've done don't make you any better or worse than me. That's humility. We're here, We're equal. We're all one. And it's easy to learn in that state because then there's not all these block ing's. Oh, I'm I'm white. I can't learn to dance. Oh, I'm a guy. I can't learn to be sensitive those stereotypes that come with not being humble, that either come from I'm a rich guy. I can't learn the Panhandle or I'm poor. I can't learn to manage money. Those things are huge barriers to learning gigantic barriers, toe learning if you let them be. If you can just say I'm No. One and I'm here, it's really easy. Learn. It's so ridiculously easy to learn. I've taken things rial seriously most of my life, and I couldn't learn. I couldn't learn. I read the Wikipedia thing. One of the first ways people learn is through play. Kids learn by playing. That's what I've done in my business. I play around with things. You have to take everything seriously when you are somebody. Well, im Jerry Banfield, I've got this big presence online. I can't screw up. I'll look stupid. So what if I look stupid? Maybe if I look stupid, that will help you. Maybe if I screw something up, you'll see open. I don't want to do that The way he did it, that was really dumb. Definitely don't want to do that the way he did it. When I'm humble, I can look at other people's mistakes and say, You know what? Their suffering. I do not want to do what they did in order to get what they got. I do not want to be such a selfish jerk that I ruined my marriage. I don't want to be such a sick person that I can't function and be helpful for someone else . I can use other people's mistakes and add them to my learning without experiencing them. But that doesn't happen. If I'm somebody, I'm a big deal now, okay? I am a big deal. See, I don't like to cuss, but there I just went and cussed. I'm sorry, I'm not perfect. I'm a humble. I make mistakes. I try and do my best. That's why I don't go through and meticulously edit my videos. Also, I try and do them honestly, straight from the heart, because that's how I learned best. I learned best from other people who give more of an honest approach. It things, too. So learning in school often is the exact wrong environment to learn successfully. That's rationally justified with things like I did it that way. Or you have to go for the socialization or it's required. Learning in school is often the worst way toe learn. What I'm giving you is the easiest way to learn. You become humble you, except you're not better or worse than anyone else. You open your mind and say, Oh, I'll try that or I will listen to that. When you tell me that you did this wrong, I will listen to it and I won't try and go do that wrong myself to see if you're right. And then there's the willingness, the love, the joy. If there's no love, enjoy and you're learning. And that's what's most often wrong in school, there's no love. Enjoy in it. It's boring. It's boring. How many times have you heard that if you had a kid on the school is boring? How many times did you say that? It's boring. I hate it. Learning will not happen. Hardly all in that environment. Oh, you can memorize a couple of words. You can remember a couple of dates from history. I'm offering you exceptional, instant, effortless learning. It does not happen if you're bored, you've got to be present and enjoy what you're doing. And you could know by now whether you've got an open mind or not. If I'm saying this to you and you're like, God, this is all crap. You don't have an open mind more than likely. And I'm amazed if you still made it this far. If you're listening, most of my audience seems to have a very open mind. If you're listening, you're thinking this is cool. This is cool. That's probably an open mind. That's definitely joy. If you're listening to me and you're thinking, Well, that guy's just about like I am or I can relate That's probably humility. 6. The difference between how we are in the habit of learning and what works best.: There is a huge difference between how were in the habit of learning and what is highly effective for learning what I've been in the habit of doing toe learn most of my life is trying to look at things and absorb them. Now this is at least how I thought I was learning. This is not how I really was learning a lot of the time, but what I thought you did to learn was you go take a course or something. You take a class, you sit there, you absorb the information and then you learn it. And that's when I thought for most of my life you did in order to learn. I also thought learning frequently happened on the job. For example, you'd have a training or seminar. We'd sit through that and learn. Or you would actually learn by going out and doing notice how I kind of put that as a foot . No, almost that you went out learned by doing most of what I thought. Learning Waas involved a classroom and not doing but talking about it thinking about it. I thought you learned by thinking about stuff. How you really learn is by doing, there's no substitute for doing, and when you're doing reaches a limit where you need a little help, then you go grab some information and then you try out that information. So that's what I do now. That's how I've learned since I've started my business and my learning has been fantastically faster. I just go out and learn. I go do things. I just start trying to do things. And then when I hit a frustration, then I say OK, I need to learn from someone who has done a lot of this. I need to learn from someone who has experience. So, for example, when I started my business out, I realized I need to learn more about business. I need to learn more about the basics in the principles. I know nothing about anything in business. So I bought books on it audio books and I read them, and that's an important thing to is. We're usedto thinking we have to learn in a certain format. I've got to sit there and I've got to write this or I have to read eight or I have to listen to it or I have to have someone presented in person. There are no rules for the format you learn in the only rule that matters if you can even call it a rule is to learn, however, works best for you in the moment, so that really lends itself to There are no rules. You just learn. That's all you do. You learn. You just learn whatever it takes. However you actually do it. So that means if you need to listen to something and read it. If you need to try something, listen to something that helps with it. Then go back and try it again. Then look at a visual I representation, then go back and try it again, asked someone about it. Then go back and try it again. Whatever you've got to do to learn that's what you do and how you do it. These ideas that I have to do this in order to learn almost always wrong because generally you've been learning all these different ways throughout your life. You just haven't associate ID all of these other areas of learning that you've done your values, your skills, anything besides knowledge. Generally, you haven't realized it's happened the same way you do gain knowledge, except that there seems to be this dichotomy where you sit down in a classroom, educated, you get a certification. Then you've learned enough to do it with almost this ridiculous idea of you actually know something, even though you haven't done it. That's why there's often disrespect for people who just have classroom learning. Have you been in a profession where someone's come in with an advanced degree? Who's never actually would don any of the work? And their obvious inexperience infuriates everyone who does have experience doing the work . That's because experience is hugely and primarily valuable. Learning in a classroom is great. It can be useful. But most of that energy is wasted. There's resistance toe learning. Almost all classrooms come with a lot of resistance toe learning. They come through egos, things like I already know that I don't want to look stupid. I'm not gonna ask this question. I have things like rules. You must do this test this way. You must write this paper this way in order to get a. When my business got started, I had all these ideas of rules in my head, and the longer I've gone on. There are very few riel rules. Almost all the restrictions I placed on myself were exactly that. I placed them there. They weren't riel. And once I saw that Oh, there's a lot more I can learn. For example, I can't learn out a code. Well, I can learn how to code. I don't have a lot of passion for it right now. However, at any point I could learn out a code. Another thing we're used to doing is thinking we can't learn things. Well, I'm too stupid to learn that, or I'm too big toe. Learn that, or I don't like learning that you can learn whatever you want to. You could go out, learn out of dance, do ballet. You can learn how to make a ton of money online. You can learn how to be a religious figure. You can learn how to be a great speaker. You can learn how to be a politician. You can learn anything you want to. The key is you've got to want to do it now, and you've got to have a way to actually do hands on learning. So it's hard to learn how to be a politician. If you can't go get involved in politics somewhere, it's hard to learn how to dance. If there's not somewhere you can dance, it's hard to learn how to do ballet. If there's not somewhere you can go do ballet. That's reality. Practically. If you want to learn something bad enough, you will go find a way that you can experience it. If you want to be a politician, you will go find somewhere it might be a student body. If you're in a college, it might be at work. You can learn office politics. You will find a way to get experience with what you want to do. What I'm saying is we consistently have these bad learning habits and ideas that are the main thing that ruined our learning ideas, like there are just people who are inherently intelligent. That's not true. I have frequently been called intelligent. I frequently got good scores on tests. I was not born that way. I was not born any differently than you. All I've done is continued to learn and experience things, and then when it came to school and tests, I was a real bad kindergartner. I didn't even know how to read. When I got in the first grade, when my first grade teacher told my dad that I'd get held back if I didn't learn to read, I learned out a reading two weeks. That is an ability you have inside you. You can learn miraculously if you want to. The idea that you just go about learning and how you feel about it doesn't matter. That's often habit. How many seminars, air corporate trainings or classroom sessions have you been in where you had no interest in learning it and still felt like everything was fine? You were there and you had no genuine desire to learn anything. And yet you felt like you were learning that that's what learning Waas learning is joyful. Learning is happy. Learning does not suck unless you make it suck. Learning is supposed to be like play. It's supposed to be fun and happy and joyous. I'm just trying to learn how to render my videos faster right now because I don't want to shell out a bunch of money for another computer at the moment. So I'm learning some options and camped Asians fun to try and mess around with some of these things. I just set the process higher so that I'd try and give the CPU an indication that this is more important of a task than running my browser in the background. I'm playing around with stuff when you see older people saying about digital natives and about how kids just are so much easier. The main difference I've found. As I'm willing to mess up, I'm willing to try things without worrying about how they come out. I'm willing to push all the buttons on the remote. I'm willing to change all the settings on the TV in order to find out what I can do to fix it were in the habit of being ruled by fear. When it comes to learning, you've got to let go of fear. If you want to unlock your learning potential, you will make more mistakes. The more you try and learn, the more you will screw up. But as I'm going to continue with later, you either will learn or you will be dying. You either grower decay. Life exists in those two states, growth and decay. You're either getting bigger or you're dying. You're either growing and learning and strengthening. Or you're dying that beer prohibits growth. You've got to let go of fear and just do it. Just try it. Just do something new. I know how hard it ISS You might think this is stupid. I was afraid of going into a massage and me to get my first massage. I've never been in there before. I didn't know what went on in there. I didn't know how everything worked. I didn't know how much it cost. I was afraid because I'd never done it before. It's normal to have fear when you're not doing something for the second time of 1/3 time of the 100 time, the habit of doing things over and over again. So it can be scary to start something new. But it's also fun to try something new. So if you focus on the fun of trying something new, if you focus on the joy in it of learning in this moment, then you can overcome all off the negative learning habits that have probably been ingrained in you up until this point. So I'm honored. You're giving me this chance to share the best of what I can with you about learning effectively 7. You keep learning or your die. I try to learn something new every day.: in life. There are two primary states learning which equals growth and decay, which equals not learning. Growth and decay are the two primary forms you see life in you see life growing and expanding or you see life shrinking and dying now in Western culture or not, is likely to see a much love life shrinking and dying. We go through and we cut out all the things that are shrinking and dying. All that tree's dead. Get that tree out of there. Well, that cockroach died over there. Get get him vacuumed up. All that old man's dying. Get him in a nursing home so we don't see a lot of the decay in life and the cost of this. We often experienced the decay in our lives. We experienced times where we're not learning anything. Where were defensive? I personally have just finished gratefully experiencing a years where I fought between learning and not learning. In the periods of not learning word decay, my life went downhill. I started to gravitate more towards death, lest good health, less good life decisions, lots of negative thinking and without seeing and being aware of that aspect of decay that comes with not learning that comes with resistance to what is then we have a hard time noticing it in our own lives. So I try and find any spot of my life where I'm not willing to learn any spot of my life. Or I think I'm perfect and I have nothing to learn is a spot of decay. Now that I understand this dichotomy in life of growth and decay, of learning and not learning, I try and learn all the time. Every moment, every moment is a teachable experience. That means when a car pulls out in front of me and I get a little frustrated, that's a teachable experience. Okay, let me learn toe love. Let me learn to relax when I'm making this video with you. This is a teachable experience. Let me learn to honestly share from the heart and say what I mean with the best intentions I can without the fear of what will happen. I'm working to learn every moment because the moment I stopped learning, I'm decaying. If I stopped learning, I'm decaying and I don't want to decay until it's time to decay. When it's time to decay. When it's time for my end expiration in terms of this body in this form, when this form is ready to fade away, then it shall fade away. Until then, I will relentlessly learn, and that relentless learning allows me to continuously improve in all aspects of my life. So I hope understanding that life mostly exists in either state of growth or decay, and that you can switch between these states rapidly whenever you're not learning is usually a state of decay. Whenever you're overly defensive, whenever you refuse, toe learn. Whenever you're stubborn and say I don't care whenever you get the f, it's and say F ed, I'm I don't care what the obvious lesson here to learn is I'm not going to learn it. That is a state of decay. And you? I often gravitated between those two, and now that I understand that when I'm doing something that's leading me to decay, when I'm resisting learning, I try and identify it. It's a ziff. My life is a forest. I don't need to remove the dead trees. I just need to notice them and focus on growing the trees that are live. In fact, I can usually use those dead trees to grow the trees that are alive faster the trees that are alive faster or the things I'm learning. The values, the skills, the knowledge that I'm building. Those are the trees that are alive. And if I'm aware of the trees that are dying and are dead, I can grow my forced much bigger, much faster if I act like there aren't any dead trees and in a forced is just perfect the way it is. The whole forest will die even if it's just a little bit of the time. Every little bit that it dies. I have to then work back to regrow it. So if you want unlimited growth in your learning, all you have to do is learn every moment, all the time. Have you got frustrated before you were falling asleep thinking I can't fall asleep? There's a teachable experience right there for you. I have that experience last night and I thought, OK, this is a teachable experience. I can learn from this. What am I supposed to learn in this moment? Please let me learn it. Let me learn when I'm supposed to buy my tossing and turning. And then when I've learned it, I will fall asleep, which is exactly what happened. So I hope I've shared the infinite power of learning you have in your life and I've given you and I'm continuing to give you everything you need to unlock that. 8. The best learning happens above conscious thinking.: the best learning I have found happens above conscious thinking. So what does that mean? That means it happens above the level of words above the level of thoughts. It happens unconsciously. Have you seen a professional sports player playing the game and seeming to move so effortlessly and thoughtlessly rapidly to make the right decisions? Have you heard people talking about in the zone or really get in the game? The idea of that is to be completely focused, and in that focus state, your thoughts are simply there to act as helpers, occasionally as they serve you best. Most of the time, you're not actually thinking you're just acting. There's a much greater intelligence that runs your and my entire body. So think about taking a breath so I can breathe. Okay, so that was a conscious breath. The intelligence is unconscious, at least if I'm not aware of it. Consciously, that runs in my entire body is fantastically powerful. It's way more powerful than anything you can possibly try and grasp with the mind. In other words, the mind is generally composed of thoughts, words, concrete explanations. The intelligence that runs the body is fantastically powerful. You could almost argue it's all powerful and that the same intelligence runs everything all life everywhere. Getting down a more functional, practical purpose is to not take this to spiritually the learning that you do with that part of you that controls your whole body. That's where the effortless, deep, powerful learning comes into play. The part of you that's able to breathe when you're not thinking about breathing the part of you that controls every little muscle movement that controls falling asleep, waking up metabolism that controls all the functions of your body also learns that intelligence is hungry for learning. That's the intelligence you want to aim your learning at. That's the intelligence I work from when I'm making these lectures with you. These aren't scripted. These aren't planned out by the mind. I've used my mind as a bare bones framework to write out the steps for this course in terms of what order the lectures to be in and what they should be called. I don't have a script for this course. I simply create these words directly out of nothing straight from the consciousness that runs my body. I try and let my mind to be silent. No thoughts, no distractions so that my mind serves that intelligence that runs the body the same way the lungs served that intelligence the same way. When you're doing something and you're not thinking the same way, you're still conscious and alive, your mind when it starts thinking. I know when I tried to play football, I've tried to think it and playing quarterback and thinking you can see when a quarterback's doing It is a very slow and ugly process. They make bad decisions. You can see when the thinking mind gets involved in gets in the way of the greater intelligence that runs you that runs your whole body, the greater intelligence that makes it effortless. When you're conscious of that greater intelligence, you can intentionally get your mind out of the way. The mind, usually in most of us, acts as a barrier to entry. The mind blocks almost anything new from coming in the bind blocks at greater intelligence from doing a lot of learning the mind. The way most of us have set our mind up is a defense mechanism to screen out all the crap. The problem is, it also screens out all the good things. And if you just let everything in the good and the bad, the greater intelligence that runs your body can decide what to do with everything. Sure, your feelings will get hurt sometimes. Sure, things will really hit hard. I used to be the kind of guy that never cried, was really strong, and I also used to be the kind of guy that couldn't receive love right when it was in my face. Now I'm very sensitive. Sometimes I just break down and cry for almost no reason. When you let that greater intelligence run you when you let that learning go straight into the greater intelligence that is you, the things you can do are absolutely unbelievable. And the effort it takes is so easy. It's hard to believe when I'm able to just sit here and make a course like this without having the planet without having to go through all those struggles that the mind and normally says are necessary to learn that you've been taught are necessary to learn. It's so easy and it makes a fantastic course experience. I'm honored. Students consistently love my courses because I'm talking honestly straight from the heart . I'm letting that greater intelligence show through. I'm trying to get the idea of me out of the way and let that greater intelligence speak for me. Let that greater intelligence invigorate my words. Let that greater intelligence create what I am saying for you now. It uses my mind, and it uses all those things I've learned. But through that I can then deliver. The greater intelligence does not take form or words. It needs the mind. So you make your mind your friend, and you teach your mind to be silent, to not get in the way, and then your mind can be a tool in your mind can really show you how powerful it is, more powerful than you ever imagined. So that's where the greater learning happens and that learning almost Onley can happen through doing through experience. When you experience something that is assimilated into the greater intelligence that runs your whole body, all levels of your consciousness, when you do something over and over again, you learn it on a deep level. When you experience things, you learn it on a really deep level. That's like driving. I've driven so much I know how to drive almost while I'm asleep. Most people are very good drivers because they've simply driven so much. They know how to do it now when they let their conscious mind get in the way of driving than there are bad decisions that often happen. But if you just drive and just let it happen, most of us can drive really good. So that's what I'm talking about, that intelligence that gets into you when you're most in the zone. That's the intelligence you want to learn with. You already are doing it. I guarantee there's something in your life you are doing where you're already doing this. In fact, you could argue you're doing this in all aspects of your life already. It's just that the mind blocks a lot of them out. Think about something you love to do. It might be playing video games. It might be gulf. It might be sewing. It might be making videos like this, which is what I love to do. It might be doing something in nature like gardening. It might be swimming, working out, sports, basketball, football. You might have something like that. You already like to do it almost guarantee it now. Think about when you are most happy. When you're most at peace, when you're most joyful, I will bet it's a moment where you are simply in the now where you are experiencing life, and through that you are doing your maximum greatest learning. If you're playing a sport the moment where you're just out there running, there's no thoughts. You're just chasing the ball or the Frisbee. Whatever sport you're playing, you're in the game. You're letting your body move as it's supposed to move as part of playing the game. If you're doing something like video games for me has been a big one. When I get in the zone, I'm a hammering people. I'm just crushing on making great shots, great plays. I'm not thinking I'm just playing. Usually when I start thinking when I start playing bad and that often will happen, will have a bad game and I'll say, Oh, I'm so frustrated now and then I won't get out of the cycle of thinking. I think of Tiger Woods for this one. When Tiger Woods was in the zone when he was on top of his game, he's just out there. He's just playing. Then when he added all of these negative thoughts in, Let All this shame out, all these bad things happened in his life. Then it was hard for him. I would guess to go out there and play without thinking. If you want to do exceptional learning, find the area of your life. You are already learning without thinking, and then take that into everything. Take that learning without thinking into everything. It's so fantastically powerful. That's exactly what you're experiencing with me. Now. If you're thinking nothing at all, then this course is really communicating exactly what you can get access to in your whole life that you already likely have in some portion of it. So I'm honored. You spent this time with me. The greater intelligence that runs me consistently likes gratitude. So thank you for spending this time with me. I'm honored you here, and I hope this has been useful 9. The intelligence that controls your breathing has immense power.: Most people are in the habit of learning through the mind. The mind is very powerful. It can do and learn lots of things. The problem is the mind. It tends to be confined to words, ideas and concepts. The great masters, in their own words, have learned from a much mawr powerful point of view than simply from the mind. So how we're used to thinking of learning is this process more like eating, where you try and eat all these ideas and then add them to yourself and the idea being that when it comes to knowledge, you want to eat as much you can stand so you can be the biggest possible expert in your field or expert at life. The Masters. People like Einstein DaVinci have described their learning more like this. A clear, peaceful mind, a silent mind that then receives information from the great intelligence in the universe, the same intelligence that runs your body that runs my body. That doesn't require your mind to do anything. That is exactly how I am able to accomplish my best learning. That's how I'm able to sit here and teach you this course, even though I've never scripted it. Even though I've done the barest minimum in my mind for it, I can simply create this out of nowhere. I make my mind silent, still surrendered, peaceful. And then I let the information simply appear out of nowhere in my mind from the great intelligence that runs my body. There's lots of different names for it. It's the universal collection of all knowledge, of all things. This is how many of the biggest breakthroughs have been reported to have happened by the people like Einstein that created them. They did not actually do it with the mind. They downloaded it from the universe itself. Now you're probably not going to suddenly sit there for the very first time in just download the universal theory of all things, and that's okay. It's a habit. Learning is a habit if you're in the habit of expecting to do things completely in the mind when I'm sharing with you in this course is how to break that habit and smash through into unbelievable levels of learning and creativity, and I guarantee you already know how to do it. You're just probably not used to doing it in the context I'm explaining for you. For example, if you've played any kind of sport, you understand that you simply have to play the sport a lot and that often you're not thinking about playing the sport while you're playing it were simply playing it. Your body is almost automatically learning what to do when I played football a lot when I was younger, the more I played football, the better I got at it. And that's the kind of learning I'm talking about. There's no textbook now. You might look things up to try and polish off some ideas when you actually play. The sport, though, is when the most learning happens. And the more you play it, the more you start to know what angles you take, how to hit the ball, how toe best, catch the ball or manage various place. And with enough experience, you can instantly respond to any situation appropriately without thinking. If you look at professional players, the best ones, especially this is what they do. You look at something like baseball while the ball comes out. You may be at 100 miles an hour and pictures are able to catch it. There's simply no time for thinking the arm just reaches up and catches it, and that's using that greater intelligence. The arm moves almost on its own. So when I'm learning, I try and learn in the same mode. I want my mind to be quiet. In other words, if my mind is judging my mind. Tango, that's crap. Oh, that's stupid. Who that might work The mawr, My mind, judges the Mawr barrier. I'm putting between me and the great, all knowing intelligence. What I want to do is get in sync with the great intelligence that runs my body and get that learning all of the unconscious part of my brain to really learn and to accept rapidly. So I know this is a radical new way of thinking about learning, and it works fantastically. This is how I'm able to do so many different things online because I just immersed myself in them. You might think it's ridiculous that I have somehow become known great at Facebook ads, even though I can't remember taking anyone else's course on Facebook ads, I don't remember learning from anyone else how to do Facebook ads. I do remember checking a few resource is when I had a very specific problem. I just let the learning happen and I take other people's courses. But I mainly go through there and end up looking for very specific a little things. When you hit certain limitations, you are motivated. You're inspired to say, OK, I need to find a concrete thing So this learning helps do and drive all of that. So if you're thinking right now, what what is he talking about? This sounds alien. This sounds impossible. No, you can feel I'm doing it and I'm creating out of this right now. My mouth is moving almost on autopilot without me trying to dictate each word. It says It's just flowing, and you might be like, Wow, it is really flowing. You're just talking all these things and that's what happened. You want your learning toe happen the same way? My mouse moving. It's almost automatic. It's almost effortless. Most of learning I tried to do in my life was painful, methodical and awful. It was frustrating. It was annoying. How many times have you thought I'm never gonna use this when you love what you're doing when you let the learning happen? When you put yourself in a situation where the greater intelligence that is you that runs your body can learn, it's effortless. It takes almost no time at all. You can instantly comprehend ideas fully now, maybe not consciously. But you can get these brilliant flash of insight where everything just immediately completely makes sense. And then the mind is just kind of stunned in the silence. I often find myself kind of looking around as if someone else is going to notice what just happened to me, that is the immense, powerful learning you have access to within yourself. And thank you for giving me the chance to unlock that with you. 10. Brain training games at Lumosity helped me understand my brain better.: the brain Training games on luminosity dot com present an excellent opportunity to get to know your brain better and to work on your brain as if it were a muscle. So you can train specific areas of your brain like your speed, memory, attention, flexibility and problem solving. These air the areas luminosity breaks your brain down into, and what you can do then, is play games in these areas to train your brain. Now the interesting thing is, this really reinforces my point. You'll notice if you trained on Lou Masaji, I'll zoom out here. Your score will continuously seem to go up. So when I first started on luminosity, I had a L. P I. Off 8 86 which they use the LP. I is kind of a luminosity performance index. I think of an indication of how fit your brain is, so you'll notice. When I first started on luminosity, it went up quite a bit. It almost doubled. Then, as I kept playing Mawr, it started to drop off. And now, as I have not trained very consistently over the last year, it has stayed much the same, so as with anything in life like that. If you're willing toe work at it a lot, you can count on good results, especially in the beginning. So this gives in an awesome example for learning and for your brain. Your brain will like, make the most massive improvements. When you start learning something new, you will tend to make huge spikes in your learning when you start something new. That's why a liberal arts education can be so valuable is when you learn all of these different topics. All of the learning happens so quickly. That's how I've been able to do so much myself. Online is, I've learned a lot of new topics, and the learning tends to happen very rapidly, especially in the beginning. If you want to continue to go higher, you've got to continue playing. So the nice thing is, Lu Masi also gives you how you compare thing and I'm a lifetime luminosity member. So I they got me really good with a mobile ad. So here's where you go to the how you compare and it shows you how you compare with other users. Now, as with anything in life, the main thing this shows you is how much I've played on luminosity because if when I just started on luminosity, I had a pretty low percentile, and if I kept playing a lot more, I probably could work my way up to the very top. So as with any learning, it's more of a function of effort than anything else Now. At the same time, things like those math games, word games have had a lot of practice in my life. A those two. So again, it all ties back into practice. But luminosity is very good for helping you get to diagnose yourself. It gives me different areas. It thinks I'm very good in memory and flexibility. So flexibility is the ability to multi task or change between things very quickly in the brain and memory You can imagine, as you will see later in the pinball game, is the ability to get a set of data and then quickly remember it and work with it. Attention, I can tell you. Yes, I've been working on that. Attention is your ability to focus on doing something, and the ability to focus is absolutely crucial in terms of raw speed. I don't I thought of myself as a very quick brain, but a lot of the times I actually don't have asthma, much raw speed and for problem solving same thing. But again, these mostly reflect the games I've played and how much I've played them also. So the games I like to play tend to be in the flexibility and memory areas, so I tend to play those more, so I tend to do better at them. Luminosity is very helpful for giving you the data you can use to dig deeper in your brain and to helping you figure out exactly how your brain works. So this is a cool new feature they have, and it shows you what kind of performance you're likely to have based on people who are similar. So it says I'm most similar to people who work in finance, and then it types out gives me an idea of which game that IHS So this is luminosity. I hope showing you this has been useful for you. If you want to improve your learning, you want to get to know your brain. If you want to get to know your brain, luminosity is very helpful and you can just train at one time I was training every day with Lu Ma City and that's when my score really went up a lot. So again the same thing. 50 different ways. I appreciate the time you spent here and I will show you some actual games. I play on Lu Ma sitting and then dive deeper into how these actually reflect how my brain works. 11. Multitasking brain training game proves your brain likes one thing at a time!: If you think your brain is a great multi tasker, let's take a look at this brain shift game in the brain shift game. You have to match the numbers and say yes or no if the numbers, even on the top or if the letter is a vowel on the bottom. So this is happening as I'm playing it in real time. I'm not playing it while I'm talking because of what I'm just saying. Well, teach. Asking is hard. I wouldn't dare try and talk and play this at the same time. So what I'm doing is narrating playing this for you and showing you how fast my brain has to switch tasks and explaining how painful it is every time I switch. So I'll play this game a few times with you guys so you can get the hang of what's going on . So the first time through what I'm doing is I'm hitting a left arrow. If the numbers odd on the top and left arrow, if it's a continent so not a vowel on the bottom, I'm hitting the right arrow for yes, if it's an even number on the top or if it's a vowel on the bottom. Now I've played this game Ah few times, so I've got a little of skill at it by now, so that as with anything, I've made the point in learning several times. The more you do something, the better you will get at it. It's that simple, So you'll notice. I actually get a top five score right here on my game because the more you play something, even if you don't use it for a while, the better you get at it. So what I want to dive in Mawr now is to show you exactly how painful it is to switch between tasks. So it's a distinctly different task to decide. Rather, it's an even or odd number on the top and to decide. Rather, it's a vowel or not on the bottom. So you'll note watch for the little slowdowns in the errors I make when I try and switch. Sometimes I get on a roll, but my brain often tries to cheat. It will try and just go with whatever I was doing, So if I was doing numbers on the top, it'll try and cheat and do numbers on the bottom because it wants to stay doing the same thing. There's resistance, like right there. I tried to switch and keep doing the same thing on the top, and then when it switched into the bottom, I kept trying to do it, and I got it wrong. So you'll see the biggest hesitations between when it switches. So you'll note right there. I just rolled through the top. And then there's this big hesitation when it switches, and then the errors tend to happen when it switches. So I hope what I can communicate out of this is to give you concrete proof that trying to multi task is something your brain does not like. Your brain likes to do one exact task at a time, and if you saw there, I tended to roll through those the fastest. When they would stay in the same spot when they would be. All numbers were, all I had to do was decide even her. I'd I could go really fast, but every time it switched over to a letter, then I slowed down. But once I got to trying to decide steadily, rather, it was a letter that is a vowel or not. Then I moved faster, and then it would switch back to the numbers and I'd slowed down. So this has taken practice, and this has taken a lot of good brain health where I can even play this game this fast. At the same time, you should note here that there are big slowdowns often like right there, even if it's the time afterwards, the task switching hurts. And when I'm aware of what's going on, it makes me a little nauseous every time it's which is tasks. So every time it drops from the letters back and forth to the numbers, my brain hates it. My brain says no stop, and we take it for granted. So much with multitasking. For example, How many times have you been working on things online? You'll have, like 60 different tabs open. That's multitasking. Every single tab you switch is just like switching between one of these cards. Your brain conduce Oh, it, but it exhausts you. It wears you out. Your brain also hates it. Your brain likes to do one simple task at a time. It's very effective that way is kind of like a single core processor, so I hope by saying we play through this game a few times and I'm excited. I just got two out of my three top scores on it again with the idea of being repetition is the way to go. So I hope you've seen through this a little bit of proof, a little bit of indication that the brain likes to do one incredibly simple task at a time . So if you can figure out ways to do one simple task at a time with your brain, your brain is likely to be very happy and likely to function very well. So thank you for going through this with me, and I hope this look at how the brain functions has been helpful for you. 12. Memory training example: memory comes from practice and trust.: your brain's memory is something you can get to know a little bit more about through this pinball recall game. It gives a Siris of pinball bumpers and then gives you a starting point. And then what you have to do is pick the endpoint. The main thing I've learned about my brain through this game is that memory is something that has to almost happen unconsciously. If you see I've played this game already enough that it's giving me some of the harder pinball setups, so I actually cannot sit there and mentally try and think about all of the layouts. You'll notice that sometimes I get it wrong. The layouts on the screen are so complicated that I'm not able to remember exactly which bumper it goes to all the time. But if you'll notice how fast this is going, what I have to do is actually just pay attention. As best I can just look, try not to think and then trust my instincts. Now you'll notice sometimes when I think too much, I'm usually likely right there like that to get it wrong. The more I think the less likely I am to succeed, you'll notice the ones I get it right are usually very quick, without much hesitation. The idea is, memory works best when you just let it work. When you try and consciously muddle with it, it tends to not work is good, she'll notice. On some, I hesitate and I try and double check my memory. The ones I get right like that one. You'll notice I just almost immediately. As soon as it popped up, I knew where it go. I didn't have to actually think about it. I just knew already. It goes so much faster than thought. And we typically think off the memory as something that's very slow and intentional and get frustrated when it won't work right. But really, memory is something that happens almost immediately, rapidly, instantaneously. And so, if you want to have a good memory, you've got to just pay attention like you'll notice on some of these. I got it wrong. I was a slight ever so little bit distracted when the bumpers came up right there and then I kind of don't know what I'm doing after that. I often guess, like right there now, in this next one I paid rapt attention, and then I was able to fire it in there and get it right and the same thing on this last one. So all memory really requires is paying attention. And now that's not how I usually thought of memory. But this game highlights it. All you really need to do for memory is pay attention and then trust your instincts the same thing, like with parking your car somewhere. As I told my wife, I figured this out in the process of parking our car. Disney, I said, I know that deep down I know where I parked the car because I parked it and then I walked from where I parked it. So if I don't interfere with what I already know, the information is there. So I hope this brain training game was useful for you in exploring a little bit more on how your brain works and mind works with memory. 13. If you want to be great at anything, you must move faster than thought!: I hope this raindrops game will show you exactly how you can be the fastest, the most effective with your brain. Now, first, nothing makes a difference like practice. But once you've had practice, then what you want to do is work almost unconsciously. I'll show you as I play this game. I've obviously done ah, lot of math in my life. So the idea is, as these rain drops fall with simple math equations, very simple. All I need to do is type them into pop the bubble, and then I can get more points. The idea being I don't actually want to think about this and when I hope I can communicate with you as I play two different games is a few different lessons that will be valuable for you to see firsthand about the brain. So first, these aren't coming fast enough where I couldn't actually think and do it. So it's easy enough, you see? Okay, six minus three there. That was three. You could easily think these through at this point, and you can see sometimes even when I do think them through. The idea is, if you want to really get to your learning potential and your brains maximum potential. Think about it like the Matrix. When Morpheus says you're faster than this neo, you are faster than you ever imagined before. The way to do it is you've got to drop out of thought. You've got actually rise above thinking to the point where you're automatically working where there's no thinking, because thinking is cumbersome. Thinking is slow. What you want to do is rise above thinking where you're working so fast. It's unconscious, and with your learning, you want to aim your learning directly at that level. So again here you can see when I'm thinking I'm playing poorly often. I made a mistake. Then I start thinking, What did I do wrong? And then sometimes you can see I speed up. And then I stopped thinking again. But the challenge with life often is your given so many opportunities to think it can be hard to stay in the zone where you're not thinking, because when you get to see the later versions of this, you won't believe how fast I can go. And it's not just with thinking. I have to go above thinking, and that's because I've learned it. You often have to learn it the slow and painful way. But once you've learned it that way, then it will stick in your brain so good that you can go almost on autopilot. You can run so fast, you don't have to think and what you'll see towards end of this game and especially I'll play this twice. You can see that I get going so fast. It's almost unbelievable. You can sit there and say You can obviously see. I'm not thinking about each one of them. The answers just popping straight into my head and I'm typing it like these. You can see 4 to 7 15 17 13 8 2021 18 24 27th or 23 899 That's all that has to happen. You want to just go so fast that there is no thought. There's no carrying a one. There's no what is nine plus two equal. You just do it automatically now. These air rather simple numbers, but they really help highlight the speed factor so you can see I actually went down under pressure there. I often will go up under pressure, and I did not get one of my top scores. Another huge lesson for learning that this game highlights is persistence. So I could just play this once and say Okay, I didn't play very good today, and I did these live beforehand, so I didn't know how these were coming out, and I'm announcing them now so that I can give you good focused announcing and play the game separately. So what I'm doing here is I'm going to play again, and I'm trying to remember the one number I missed 11 times 12. I really hung up on it 1 32 so there can be holds. There can be little glitches in your unconscious memory, and that often comes from not practicing. So then you can use little handy things, like a calculator to fill those holes. So as I play this game again, you'll see how unbelievably fast I get going at it. Now. I feel like a lot of people can sit there and do these little calculations quickly like this because you could think that out. OK, what's to minus one? Well, 52 fingers up and I take one away. It's one like you could easily think these things out when I want to give you the ability to do with your learning and with your performance is to go beyond thought. You work so fast that you absolutely can't believe it. You won't even believe, man. I can go that fast. But again, nothing substitutes for practice. I've spent thousands of hours doing math in my life. That's why I can do this fairly quickly and with pretty good accuracy. So nothing substitutes for practice. If you'd spent as much time doing math and you may have, you may be looking at this like, Wow, this guy's going really slow or if you've spent less time than meal like, Wow, he's going really fast. If you spent the same amount of time, you'll think, Okay, that's probably right. And while that's a really silly error there, so that's the idea. You want to reach your potential simply by practicing, practicing, practicing nothing substitutes for practicing, and this game highlights that persistence practice, and you can practice when you love what you do. I know there's a lot of repeated ideas in here, and life is really that simple. You just do what you love to do and keep doing it. So for this game, you'll see the numbers will start to speed up soon. And the key to how fast I go is that I'm not actually thinking about any of them. All I'm getting are the answers. If I get a thought, sometimes I'm actually entering it without thinking. But if I do get a thought, it's the answer. So, like they're 27 to 974441562 69 55 to 15 3 That's what I'm getting. And then I've got my fingers laid out on the keypad so that I can hit Enter a backspace with my left hand, and then I can just type the number of my right hand and you'll see. Then right there, I hit the orange one, so that clears the whole screen. Now, if you want to really learn, you want to tap into this unconscious learning. So this is where it starts to get crazy and watch how fast these answers start coming in. If I make a mistake, I don't even hardly slow down because I'm not thinking about what that men I'm like. I just made a mistake. I just keep going. I just keep running through it and you can see how fast the numbers disappear. This is called working Under Pressure, and the problem is, you might already know this about yourself, and you might find your intentionally putting yourself in pressure situations so that you perform at your maximum ability. You don't have to do that. All you have to do is understand how you perform at your maximum ability, and then you can perform at it. So one final home stretch here is I try and tackle all these numbers at once, and you know, I think it's amazing and kind of Just watch this. How many numbers get shredded at once, So they're now. I've got my second highest score on this game because I tried again so more than you'd ever believe in life. It's about just trying again, and you don't even need to pressure yourself as much as just figure out what it is, how it is that you tend toe work most effectively, most quickly, and that usually will be focusing on one thing and repeatedly doing it. So thank you for watching this, and I hope it's been helpful 14. Absolutely nothing beats loving what you are doing and doing it repeatedly.: loving. What you do makes learning so much easier, and you probably already know this from learning something you loved are ready. Think about something you've learned that seemed almost effortless. Toe learn, like for me learning the play video games didn't seem it all like learning in school. I loved playing video games. I still do. So it usually seems very easy to learn in a video game, especially when you compare it with the a learning environment of something like learning in school, where the learning often seems painful and frustrating, forced or confined. The reason you can learn so easily, especially if you just learned through your whole body. Your whole being is when you love to do something. Everything just kind of effortlessly soaks in. So if you love playing a sport, you'll notice that you'll just play it and you don't have to try and get frustrated and learn all these things in it. You just keep playing it, and it's kind of in an atmosphere, fun. Anything you love to do and learn like that. You can learn it 1000 rapidly faster than anything you could try and force yourself to learn. So loving. What you're doing is the main component for easy and fantastical learning. This is why I've been able to learn so many things. So fast. Online is because I have had and have so much love for the learning process and getting better at them. It's made it easy to try all these new things out and to get good at so many different skills because I'm just learning them for fun because I want to. Do they have a lot of practical application? Do they have a lot of real world value? Yes, these air very high demand skills. At the same time, I'm one of the few people learning them. That's just learning them for fun, which gives me a gigantic opportunity. Think of people like Bill Gates. He just loved programming. So he learned way deeper into programming than his colleagues, and he happened to be in a good opportunity for it. There are tons of similar great opportunities today to learn very in demand skills effortlessly. The key is you've got to be able to love that, though, so the easiest way for me to try and figure out what I love is trying do different things and see which one somewhat naturally sticks in video game terms, playing different video games and saying which one I end up coming back to the most and getting the most excited about. That's the easiest way to figure out what exactly I love, because action speaks louder than words. So if I love something, I'm going to keep doing it. These you Timmy videos and the YouTube videos I did before them are great example. I love making videos, so I keep doing it. And in the process of doing it, I keep learning all these little things. Things like the videos bit rate, how to get better quality audio, how dumb or effortlessly film a more professional looking video without having to spend a whole bunch of money. That's the power of loving what you do. I love making videos, and the more effort I put into it, the more I keep doing better with less effort, and it doesn't feel like painful learning when I have a little technical problem. Now, I just go out and look for it, and I don't get so frustrated because I know I'm looking to improve one little part of a much bigger system where I've made all these great improvements are ready. So the key is having love for what you're doing, because that unlocks the easy, simple learning potential of everything else. I'll show you exactly in some future lectures, how we think of most learning and how hard it is to learn when you don't love what you're learning. And the good news is, if you've been told a lot of negative things about your abilities, like you're not a good student or you're not good at this or all these negative things people tend to hear in school, almost all of them simply result from you not loving it. That is a doorway into unlocking your exceptional potential. The only reason I did in school is because I loved the feeling of being better than other people that I got in school. So that's why I work so hard. I love that aspect of it. I've worked with a lot of other students who are very smart and yet didn't get good grades because they didn't have the love and the joy that I got out of school. So that's the beauty of it is finding out you have way more potential than you ever imagined, and you have to unlock that potential by loving what you're learning. So thank you for watching this, and I hope this has been helpful. 15. Resistance is the main reason you have not been able to learn in your life.: Have you ever asked yourself? Why does it seem so hard for me to learn? And how many times have you been hard on yourself? Like, why am I so stupid? Why don't I get this? Why is this so hard? I have these answers for you and it only has to do with one thing. Its resistance. That's all. You're not dumb. It's not so hard. You have incredible awesome abilities, its resistance. You have so many so much depth inability that you can both try and learn something and push it away and still learn at the same time. Resistance is the biggest barrier to learning. When you resist, it makes it almost impossible to learn. And yet you have so much ability you can still learn through your own resistance. Now, once you comprehend that, you'll just be blown away. Like, Wow, I can learn even when I'm trying not to learn at the same time. And when you realize you have so much ability that you're still learning even when you're fighting it at the same time, then you realize, Wow, how much could I do if I try to wholeheartedly to learn? If I didn't waste 80% of my energy on the fight toe learn. So this, of course, as with everything with me, is from first hand experience. When I resist learning, I learned a lot less and I hate it. I can't stand it. It's frustrating. I don't enjoy doing it. And you know what happens then? I don't actually learn anything. Well, I learned very little. Here's the forms it takes. This is stupid. So whenever I'm saying this is stupid, I'm blocking my own ability to learn, and I'm judging it. Contempt Prior to investigation all, I don't need to know about that. Most of my life was contempt prior to investigation when it came to any personal matters for example, how to treat people and interact with people how to date how to be a good person. I would go around saying, I don't need any of your crap. I know I got this. I'm fine the way, um, that's contempt. Prior to investigation, I wouldn't even look at all of the things I possibly could learn. So I just blocked them out on purpose. Another form it takes is negative thinking like I hate doing this. I don't want to do this. That's resistance. And while most of us have been trained to just push through resistance, that's the really hard way to do it. If you want to learn something, you've got to accept resistance and say, OK, this is here for a reason for me. Recently I had the bright idea who I'm going to learn how to code. And then I started learning how to code and I could see the resistance there. Then the resistance is there to tell me, Maybe this isn't the right thing for you to learn. Maybe you should learn what feels right. I haven't spent a lot of time learning to code. So a lot of the learning I've done before is not applicable. Directly learning the code and the resistance is a reflection of the fact that I can get how much I don't already know. And how much will I need to know and how much sheer amount of time and effort I have to put into learning all these things to code just to kind of get a basic understanding and the resistance was there to let me know. Hey, you already know how to find people who know how to code. Why don't you just enable them to teach what they know and then you help them? They help you instead of trying to all do it yourself. Okay, that'll work a lot better. So if you're resisting learning something, there's a reason, and often the reason is probably. It's not for you. When you try and learn something and you love it, it just effortlessly comes in and you want to do it. You want to do it. And my view is that you want to spend all of your time learning and doing things you love to do. If there's resistance, that's an indication it's not right, and it's more of an indication it's not right now. There are things I'm learning now that were not right for me to learn in the past that I had resistance learning that I'm learning now. So if you get resistance, usually want to back down and I know how that sounds. I have been a person most of my life. I'm never backing down. What that really left me was vulnerable to any little pinball movement. My life I'd bump into something I wouldn't like it just by chance and then I'm not backing down. I'm gonna learn this, damn it! I am going to learning and then a lot of pain and suffering. So if you accept resistance and recognize it when it's there, you will tend to gravitate towards things and be attracted to things you love to learn. So, for example, even in this course, if you find you're resisting it like no, I don't like this guy's ideas, You may not be ready to learn how to learn better. You might be in a place where you just want to keep learning the hard way. You just want to do it in a way that's comfortable. And that's okay. You've got lifetime access to this course, and you can come back whenever you already at the same time. If you are recognizing while I'm telling you this that Oh, okay, maybe this subject I'm trying to force myself toe learn. I've seen a lot of people, and I see this because I've done it myself. I tried to learn email marketing with male chimp, and it just didn't stick. I just didn't like it. I just wouldn't spend the time doing it, and it just didn't work. Good, because I don't like email marketing on either end. So why would I try and learn it? The resistance is the main reason you struggle toe learn nothing else, not because of anything anyone's ever said to you. Resistance is the Onley reason. You struggle to learn you have exceptional abilities, toe learn so exceptional that your own resistance often is not enough to prevent you from learning something. You're that smart that you can try and block yourself from learning something and still learning at the same time. If you can focus all of your energy in learning in areas where you don't resist it, then you can maximize your learning potential. And if that takes a form that you might question so if the only area you confined, you really like toe learn ins, video games and that takes a little bit of offense in your own mind like should not like to learn something more useful. You can do a lot by learning out of play video games. And if that's the right thing for you to learn right now, then that's okay. If that's the only area you can learn in without resistance. That's okay if it's knitting. If it's making repairs, maintenance. If it's playing with electron ICS, networking tool, whatever it is, find the areas you don't resist learning and that you just gravitate towards a right now something you think of like I'd rather be learning how to do this right now that might be an area. Or that might just be a nun. Satisfaction with how the moment is. If you find yourself spending hours doing something at a time, just flies by. That's probably an area or you're not resisting learning. So I hope this talk about resisting learning has been useful for you. I wish I would have heard this a long time ago, and the only thing I can do now is keep it in mind every moment for myself. So thank you 16. A silent mind makes an exceptional student.: if you want to learn most effectively. Ah, silent mind is the easiest environment to be receptive to learning. So that means a mind that simply observing, watching, looking, not judging, not producing thoughts like I don't like this or this is stupid. Or what does this mean? The less you can think. And the less you can get into thought, the more you can learn rapidly. For example, For me, this often will happen when I'm doing things online, like Facebook or YouTube, that I've learned that I've made courses people have loved. I'm often not thinking very much. I'm just doing. I'm into what I'm doing. I'm creating add sets. I'm getting pictures. I'm just doing things hands on when you're thinking, thinking disrupts the learning process because when you want to be in receive mode, you want to just let things come and soak in thoughts are throwing these things out. So when you're throwing all these thoughts out, then the thoughts clash with what's coming in. So when some knowledge is coming in and you're throwing this thought out, what am I gonna do tomorrow? What am I going to do later today? What am I going to do next week? How does this girl look? What should I do with this information? What am I going to get out of this? When you're throwing all those thoughts out, all the information coming in gets disrupted and then it gets hard to process, and this is what makes it easy for me to learn peacefully on my own school was a very disruptive thinking environment. How many days of you sat in class thinking the entire class? If you're having a thought like while this classes, So a slow What time is it? Those air thoughts and those are an indication of a mind that's not silent. If you have learned something you've loved and you probably already have and may be continuing to do this, you'll notice your mind is usually pretty quiet and you'll notice that's a time you tend to really enjoy. So if it's something like martial arts, if it's something like games or sports, where you're totally absorbed in it and you have very few thoughts, so not complete absence of thought, you notice very few thoughts, and the thoughts you notice tend to be productive. The thoughts you have tend to help you with what you're doing. You can see this in action in my courses because I can't afford to think right now I can't afford to be trying to think about anything because then that will disrupt my teaching experience with you. My energy is focused completely on producing what I'm saying. I'm not actually thinking about it. It's just coming out of nowhere on autopilot. As you might figure some of the time that you can see the same way, like playing a sport, you might create action out of nowhere. It doesn't come out of thought. When you run down the field and go up to catch a pass or you make that perfect soccer play . You're not usually thinking it through. You're just doing it. You're just moving. And so that time, creating my courses the same way. I'm just letting the energy flow out of me, and I'm kind of letting the energy direct what I say, which is beautiful, then I don't have to use a script. I don't have to plan everything out. I don't have to even worry how it's going to come out. I trust that I'm saying what I'm supposed to, and when I have things that don't go well, then I simply deal with it. It's a very, incredibly easy, creative process. You want to learn this way. Also, you want to totally be absorbed in what you're learning, because then there's no resistance, and a silent mind is the most concrete where I can put it of an environment where you're learning peacefully in just letting everything in. Often I confined. My mind is fairly silent while I'm at the gym. It still thinks, and driving tends to be another time where I can have a silent mind. That's good. But any time I can learn with a silent mind, it helps me to have a time where I'm doing some manual task. That tends to be an easy opportunity, such as driving that I know how to do driving so well. It requires almost no conscious thought to actually do it. So that's the kind of learning I'm sharing with you, how to do in this course and how to apply that to everything. It's challenging to understand the silent mind apart. If you've never been exposed to it, though, so the best I can share with you is what I do myself between lectures. It takes time for these videos to render. And when I try and do between the lectures, I try and just sit quietly. So while the videos rendering, I sit here like this. No, I sit here like this, and I just try and be quiet blank, because it's easier for me to get straight in and do the next lecture. Now you might think that's a real waste of time. You could be answering email. You could be doing something else than another browser window. You could be answering your messages that are pile up in o desk. You could be boasting an answer to my question on you, too. May A silent mind is both a great student and a great teacher. If I am going to make a good course for you, I need to have my mind silent before starting while I'm doing it and during breaks, because when my mind is active, you will notice it in a poor quality lecture. You'll notice a lecture. I'm not quite there. I seem a bit distracted or where I talk from ego Maura, about how great I am I am nothing. I'm a nobody. I'm here to serve you. This voice is something that's appearing in your mind. This face, if you're watching this is something that's appearing in your consciousness. I as regards to, um, Onley the voice that inspiration which you can use to be the learner you want to be. That makes me nobody in the sense of you in your world. I am here to serve you, and that comes from silence. That's not something I would say out of ego. An ego is. I'm Jerry Band Phil. I'm this I'm Baba. That's ego. Silence encourages me to teach with a care and utmost care for the value I give you. It places me in a place of peace where I'm here to serve you, and that's the environment that's easy for me to learn in also, now, at least notice when I have thoughts that are disrupting my learning. So if you can notice, your thinking is disrupting your learning, then you can do something about it. So next time it might even be right now you've made it this far. In the lecture, you might already be drifting off into some thoughts If you're drifting off into thoughts now that's disrupting your learning. It's interrupting your ability to absorb what I'm sharing with you, and any time you do that, it makes it harder to learn. So a silent mind, a peaceful mind that's receptive and open mind, as it's called, makes it so much easier to learn. So I hope what I'm doing is communicating what you already know how to do and just making you conscious of bringing that style of learning into everything you learn. Thank you for experiencing this with me, and I hope it's been useful. 17. Accepting that you need help will encourage you to learn what you need.: one of the key steps to successfully learning through your entire being is to accept that you need help. And again, everything with me is from personal experience. This is often easy when you're just starting something new. Like for me. When I was learning how to drive, it was easy to accept. Okay, I need help learning how to do this. It gets harder the more you think you know. So it has to happen in your mind. You've gotta accept and you could call it surrender. You've gotta surrender in your mind to the idea that you already know. I already know. I know about that. That blocks learning out. What let's learning is is saying okay. I don't know. I need help. And this is hard, especially in Western civilization, where we're programmed to always look like way. No. And I know in many countries in Asia this is a big thing to you want to look good? You want to have a good face. You want to save face and keep a good appearance at all times. You don't want to look like you don't know something You don't want to look ashamed As if you can't be helpful or you can't be useful and that you're not a good member of society. So this is a hard one, especially depending on where you've been at your life is toe open up and say, OK, I don't know. And then a miracle with learning happens once you accept you don't know, then knowledge just floods in. It's a way of dropping resistance. So when I told you about a silent mind and resistance being a huge buried of learning acceptance to what you don't know and surrender toe, what you don't know is the doorway where you can get learning in your whole being really easily. So all you have to do is picture scenarios where you've already done this and then apply it to everything you're trying to learn. So for me, when I was in first grade, I had not learned how to read. Yet I said, OK, I don't know how to read. I need help. I rapidly learned how to read. In just a few weeks, I learned how to read, and the people were shocked. My teacher couldn't even believe that I could learn how to read so fast. And if you'll notice that's what happens in society. You get labeled and all of a sudden you believe it. But then there comes resistance with that belief, like so what? So what if you can just accept? Okay, I don't know this and then genuinely, you love it and want to learn it. Then you get really easy. Rapid learning in video games. This has been tough for me because the better I get at the video game, the more I want to say I don't need anyone else's help. I got this. I'll just learn it myself and the same thing with online ads. At various points where I've gotten really good with them, I start saying I don't need to take anyone else's course. I already know when I took. I think I've taken most everyone else is how to be successful on you to me course, because I was consistently an M, consistently admitting I don't know exactly what works on you. Me, I try and share it in my course. I don't even know what works exactly for learning. I'm open to learning what does work, and that's why I've learned so fast at how I can learn faster. That's why I've learned so many of these subjects so fast is because I was willing to say, OK, I don't know about this. What is that? I need to know. And then I went and found it. And it's amazing how easy it is once you admit, once you surrender once you accept. Okay, I don't know this. It's so easy to go find it. Then the hard part is realizing when you're sitting there trying to act like, you know, I tried to act like I knew how to live life for 10 or 15 years, and as soon as I said, You know what? I don't know how to live life. I don't know how to manage my own life. I don't know so much about living a good, happy life, a life that includes not treating myself with disrespect, not poisoning and hurting myself with various chemicals or ways of living. As soon as I opened up, a ridiculous amount of learning has flowed into my personal life about Oh, if you're mean to someone, you just apologize. And there you fix it. You don't hold it onto it. If you do something stupid you say? Oops. I did something stupid. I'm sorry. I'm not perfect. I will do my best to be a good person right now. Oh, then I don't have to go be mad about it all day. I mean, just huge breakthroughs that I suffered most of my life. The opportunity to learn was there. But I did not want to admit I didn't know. I didn't want to look like that guy. That doesn't know. And I did that so much with my business online. Oh, yeah, I know how to How many people have you seen? Oh, yeah. I know how to do that. Yeah, I could do that for you. And then the truth comes out. They don't know how to do that. How many times have you been like that? Yeah, I know how to do that. You can do that. And then you try and do it and you're ashamed, like I lied. You know, you lie. You know, you didn't know how to do it. And then you're trying to do all this work fantastically to prove that you didn't lie to this person with learning. It's critical, to be honest. Do you know how to do this? No, I don't like unlearn. I don't know how to do it. Do you know how to program in this language? Nope. No idea. I might be able to learn it, but I don't know how to do it. Do you know everything about Facebook ads? Nope. There's a lot I don't know about. Facebook heads. That humility. Honesty that opens up your learning like you can't believe. So I hope when I'm sharing with you, I hope you're feeling what I'm sharing with you. If you're here looking for specific tips and shortcuts, I'm giving them all to you. They're just probably not in the areas you ever imagined they would be in. You probably never would have imagined that admitting what you don't know is the key to learning. It just doesn't necessarily make sense. And I hope what I'm sharing with you that you can feel inspired that you can feel your potential coming out like Wow, I can really learn anything while I really am smart. Wow. I really have a lot to contribute to the world. That's what I'm hoping to share with you. I'm honored. You're here with me and I appreciate the time you spent listening to me talk 18. Why are there so few traffic accidents? Most people are very good drivers.: Have you ever wondered why there are so many people that are driving so many cars on the road? And yet there are so few accidents now this requires a positive mindset because the mind is wired to remember all the negative things you've seen in driving. Let's look from the data. While a lot of people do die in car accidents, most people that drive every day everywhere get where they're going safely now, given that worst driving these cars that go very fast, often in areas of congestion, traffic, all kinds of potential hazards and dangers, I think it's amazing there are so few car accidents. The reason that is is because most people are very, very good at driving. And the reason most people now, I'm not saying every single person I'm saying. The majority of drivers are very good at driving people like me. They've spent probably 10,000 hours driving, have an exceptional amount of learning when it comes to driving, and then you've got people let like my mom. She spent probably twice a much time driving as I have, and it's just a miracle that you can see through the learning. Most people are able to adapt to most situations nearly without thinking when it comes to driving. And that is proof off this concept I'm giving you. If you can apply that to every other type of learning you're doing and most people, it's not that they have all these inherent abilities to be a great driver. It's just you've spent so much time driving. You've become a good driver. You can drive almost without thinking. I noticed I could be totally wrapped up in my mind, totally not present paying attention, and I can still drive good. And that's because the greater intelligence that runs my body has had so much time to learn . Driving it can effortlessly process everything that happens. Car's slowing down lights changing, different driving scenarios, all of it easily readily handled, especially when you drive in a place you've driven in a lot before. It's really easy to be a good driver. It's also easy to be a bad, rude, inconsiderate driver, too. The testament to this is that when people are rude driving that they're still usually is not an accident. What people are driving bad. Usually there's not an accident now, of course, I was a police officer before. I've seen plenty of traffic accidents, but what's amazing is the sheer amount of cars on the road in the very few amount of accidents out of those cars. And it's because off the learning principles I'm sharing, you don't have to have exceptional talent as a driver. And that's why driving when you're young is so dangerous. You don't know how to drive very good, and you often will be overconfident about the driving you do have. I know. When I was in my early twenties, I thought I was a great driver, and yet I wasn't. I had very little actual experience driving. I was not prepared to deal with a lot of different driving scenarios. And yet the other drivers were so good around me that they could usually account for me driving poorly. And that is an example of the learning I'm sharing with you. Think of it like driving or any task you learn just through manual labor. The more you do it, the better you will get it that there is no type of learning that is significantly different from that all learnings just like that, we put all these things on it with our mind like, Oh, you've gotta have this level of intelligence. You've gotta have this family upbringing. You've gotta have this education. Anything you want to learn, you can learn it just by doing, and in fact, if you love doing it, you can learn it with almost no effort. That's why there are so many good drivers, because there's a lot of people that loved to drive that enjoy driving, who are willing to put the time into driving to learn it. So I hope this example with driving's been useful and wrapping up the idea that if you want to learn really good, you want to learn through your entire being and that your entire being as a learning machine, rather than just your mind, is so powerful that you could do something complicated, like drive a car with no effort when you're not even that old just by practice, so anything you want to learn is just like driving. All you have to do is admit what you don't know. Open mind, learn and just keep doing it, and you'll learn it that simple 19. If you think you can't learn something, you probably are right.: being an exceptional learner is as much about breaking bad habits as it is making good ones and replacing them. So one of the worst learning habits I've struggled with myself is the I can't I can't learn this. If you don't think you can learn it, you're probably right, for example, going to football practice. I went once and I said I can't do this And sure enough, I went back to the coach the next day after one football practice and said, I can't do this. I quit. That's the easiest way to defeat yourself. That something is by thinking you can't do it. The problem is it's hard to see that you're in and I can't mindset. So what? I try and do I try and notice any time I say the two words, I can't because that's usually not true. I very often can do things. That's what I'm choosing to do. So I try and be an I can mindset. What can I do? And then what will I not do? So, for example, I can make this video with you right now. What I will not do is try and butcher it. Try and make a really bad quality video of it, try and produce it from a point of view of self interest. What I can do is try and make this in the mindset that I'm talking to you. This is a very personal course between me and you that all I am here for is to serve you the same way Waiter served in a restaurant. So that's what I can do is I can serve you in learning any time you say I can't. It's very dangerous. It's very poisonous to your learning experience. I've seen a lot of other students in school saying I can't get this. I just can't understand this. And I know whenever I say I can't understand something in my life that's not true. I'm choosing not to. And seeing the choices I'm making are crucial. If I'm choosing not to understand something, that's where the problem is, not with the thing itself. For example, any situation comes up and I said just I just can't understand this. I'm choosing not to. So I've nearly removed the phrase I can't from my own life because I know that's a lie. I'm either choosing to do something. I'm choosing not to do something. If I can do something, then I will decide. Rather, I will do it or not. I don't work in a world love. I can't. I work in a world of I can and I can't is devastating for learning. I went to try and learn coding before, and I've mentioned this a couple of times. I can learn coding. I see resistance there, and at this time it seems like the right thing to do is not to learn coding. Can you see the difference between that and saying, I can't learn coding? I can learn almost anything. You can learn almost anything. Removing I can't from your learning will absolutely give you exceptionally better learning . So any time you hear yourself saying or thinking, I can't understand, I can't learn. I can't get this or often it goes along with I just don't get this or I know language varies a lot in parts of the world, So any phrase related to your inability to do it in other words, where the blame is that it's an inherent characteristic in you. So you're saying is if you were designed and your design does not include that. Even something like going to the moon. I can go to the moon. I do not know how I could go to the moon. I guess. Actually, I do know how I could take a spaceship there. I could go to the moon right this second if a spacecraft appeared and picked me up. So even saying something that seems impossible is bad. Something I could say I can't go to the moon. That's not true. I could go to the moon. I would guess that the necessary requirements are not going to appear in my backyard right now, so you can see the big difference in using the phrase I can't or in believing you can't. If you believe you can't get this course, you're probably right. If you believe you can't learn something, you're probably right. If you believe you can learn something, you're probably right. If you believe you can get this course, you're probably right. So notice what you're saying and what you're thinking. Take responsibility for it. There's nothing you can't do. You will not do most things, but there's nothing you can't do. You have the same abilities as any other human being, given the same opportunities, the same conditioning, the same experience and the same love for what you're doing. Especially when it comes to learning. You can do amazing things in your life, especially with your learning. And I hope that's when I'm communicating to you out of the love in my heart to the love in your heart. So thank you for spending this time with me. I can teach you to love yourself and to find the unlimited potential within yourself if you think I can, and if you think you can. 20. What you think of other people is what you think of yourself.: one of the bad habits in learning is judging and being critical of yourself in your own learning abilities. This relates to that can't and I give you hear a shortcut you can use to see what you think of yourself. So here's how I know what I think of myself. Whatever I think of myself is a reflection in what I think of other people. So, for example, when I go call someone stupid, I think I'm stupid. When I go call someone lazy or fat, I'm fat. I'm lazy when I say someone is mean or rude or a jerk. I mean, I'm rude, I'm a jerk. So at this point, you might be thinking, That's ridiculous. There's a big difference between other people and me. What there's no difference is how you are seeing and treating other people with how you are yourself, and that includes, for me judgments. I've been very judgmental in my life. One of the worst and most consistent things I did was to call other people stupid. I had got high scores on tests all the times, and I always looked around and calling other people stupid. You're stupid. And even if I didn't do it to their face, which I often did do it to their face. If I didn't in do it to their face, I was always doing it. My head who look out, done that guy as a cow dump she is. She didn't know and I was always judging other people. And you know what? That reflected my own inability to see where these other people I was calling dumb or smart . So I felt actually very insecure myself. I was an egomaniac with an inferiority complex. This made it very hard to learn because any time someone wasn't stupid in my mind set, I felt threatened by them in anyone who was stupid. I had nothing to learn from them. You can see that makes it very difficult to find someone to learn from. It tended to make this very limited window where I could learn from maybe someone like a professor, that I expected they'd be farther along than me or sometimes a friend. I could learn from them. So if you want to be able to learn, you've got to be able to love yourself and do not judge yourself and be mean yourself and you can see if you're doing that by what you're doing. The other people, if you're saying other people are stupid or if you're going around saying other people are so smart, Even man, that guy's so smart with the idea that you're not, then it's hard to learn that way. If you're going around judging and being mean to people, then you're doing that to yourself, and that's likely hurting your ability to learn. I know I've done it a lot to myself. A good example is in video games when I would get mad back. That guy says You cheated out guys such a jerk. What I would not do is look at what he was doing that I could do. I did this same thing on you. To me, there's Instructor has been very successful in una me, and he consistently would post his huge earnings in the Facebook group. I was in with him and I still am, so I would look at his earnings. If I quote a jerks guy, he's making all this money. He's just trying to show off and make other people feel small. So obviously, when I was looking at him with that mindset. I couldn't learn anything from what he was doing at that time. My personal life was starting to collapse and I prayed desperately for help and I got it. And then and now, as I've continued to treat myself better, that's reflected in how I see other people. And then that makes it easy for me to learn. Now I look at that other instructor and say he's really inspired me. At first I looked at his income and was resentful. Then I looked at his income and thought, If he can do that, maybe I can at least do 10% of that. That be enough for me to merit doing more. You know me. Since then, my you Timmy incomes grown rapidly as I've looked more and more of him. What is he doing right that I can learn from? Everyone is doing something right that I could learn from everyone everywhere is doing something right. I could learn an old lady who is mean and crotchety is doing things right that I could learn from a little kid who's in his diapers in his baby crib is doing things right. I could learn from Everyone has something to teach me. That means no one stupid. I am grateful. I have a guy that fell and had a bad head injury, fell from three stories and his head's caved in a bit. He calls me every morning. He wishes me to have a good day, he says, to hug my wife and he says, God bless me And he asked how I'm doing. A lot of people might say mean things about his abilities and his I cure his abilities to be a student. He has a lot of beautiful things to teach me, and he's taught me that often the best things in life are simple, inconsistent. There's no day I shouldn't be hugging my wife. There's no day I shouldn't be thankful for what I have. And he teaches me that no matter what happens to my body, I am a part of the whole that I am valuable, that I have learning ability, that I'm useful and I am worth. Love is a person. That's what he is able to teach me. Everyone and everything is something to teach me, and that makes it ridiculous easily, easy for me to learn I can learn from everything and everyone all the time. Now compare that with how I used to live. Going around saying you're stupid, You're stupid, You're fat, you're ugly. I would find a reason I couldn't learn anything from everyone. So what did I do? I sat around. It was frustrated all the time at my own self. My own fatness, my own laziness, my own stupidity, my own feeling, like an old person. Everything I did to everyone else was a reflection of how I felt about myself. Everything I do know. So when a car pulls out in front of me, I usually think now something mawr passive or neutral, like a little carpal out in front of me. Okay. I used to get so mad, you idiot. Don't you know, Get out of my way. I've got places to go. My interstate is reflected by how I treat people. If I can love and understand. I know my mom personally has a hard time with murderers. I can love and understand Murderer. I've almost Ben in the position to murder other people in my life, and most of us have been in some kind of mood or some kind of physician in our lives where we could have really hurt someone or killed them often in our cars. If the pedestrian didn't move just right, if that guy had his bike, if you hadn't swerved a little bit, most of us have been in position at some point in our lives to kill someone rather on purpose or by accident, or maybe even have done it somehow. If I can love and understand everyone and everything that I have a fantastic ability to learn at all times. If you want to unlock your learning abilities, breaking the bad habit of judging, labeling other people the habit of trying to understand everyone in a stereotype, another bad one that's I suffered a bad stereotype. Oh, this is a blonde sorority girl. This is the sketchy black guy. Oh, this is the big, big, annoying girl. I always had to put someone in a stereotype. Those stereotypes stopped me from learning things. The person who I thought was a sketchy black guy turns out to be a really nice person who's got a lot to teach me, the person who I thought the blond sorority girl turns out to be my wife still blows me away. The girl I would label who is a big, fat, annoying girl turns out to be someone who's got a lot of love for me who thinks I'm a great person and who finds me inspiring, who helps me love myself. The things you do when it comes to labelling and judging other people are what you're doing yourself. Even if you don't notice, you're doing it to yourself. So I hope this lecture from my painful experience of doing this bad habit wrong so much in my life can help you see that if you want to unlock your exceptional learning potential where you can make a huge bad habit disappear where you confined learning every single moment of every single day. And I hope my honesty with you in this lecture has made it clear I give from the heart that I have complete and whole genuine love for you that if you can feel that coming through, then you know that you've got all of this exceptional ability within yourself. So thank you. And I hope this has been for me How it feels for me has been that way for you. 21. Memorizing, cramming, and copying will not help you learn.: how much of your learning getting through courses, classes, tests has involved memorizing, cramming and copying. I know a lot of mine did, and that rarely helped me learn. Most of the time. Memorizing, cramming and copying in any similar strategies are short term, specific, objective type learning. What I mean by it won't help you learn is how much of all of that do you remember now, How many of the things you've memorized You've crammed into your head before unexamined, ive copied are still in your head. Now these strategies don't tend to promote good whole being learning. These tend to be mental emergency strategies you use to pass tests, and often if they work, they will become the only strategies used to pass the test out of desperation, laziness or whatever else you want to call it. I know I depended a lot on memorization and occasionally cramming to get me through courses . What I noticed when I like to course, I didn't tend to need to memorize, cram or to copy things in order to get in a. In the course when I generally enjoyed the course, I paid attention in class every day, so I didn't tend to need to panic at the last second to try and cram these things into my mind. This type of strategy is a reflection of the fact that you're resisting the learning. So if you're in a place where you trying to just memorize vocabulary or memorized terms where you're trying to cram at the last minute or where you're trying to copy things in order to get ahead, which often happens in business, people will just go through and copy things instead of trying to do them yourself. Now, of course, there's a place in the time. If you see a certain thing you needed to do and you learn it, then you can learn it that way without just verbatim copying it. So using these strategies tends to be a reflection that you didn't pay attention enough. You weren't genuinely interested in learning enough in the first place that now you're panicking and you are pushing yourself. You're trying to force yourself toe, learn these things rapidly at the last minute when I'm doing things I love, I don't tend to do any of those things. I don't have you to me terms. I need to go through and memorize. I learned stuff as I need it. I use things as I need it. I don't need to cram my courses. I do my courses out of love. I love doing them. This is a big course I'm making with you, and I don't need to cram all the lectures in. I just do about what I feel feels right every day and then the course appears, and I don't need to copy other people's material because this comes from the heart and comes out of my genuine love and desire to learn. So I don't tend to need to go through and find an idea from someone else and then just copy it. Now I'm enrolled in other learning courses, so if I see something in there I want to cover in my course, I can learn it. And then, in my own experience, share that with you. So then, while the idea might be similar, the actual delivery in the details of it are much different. Copying tends to take everything in whole and put it in the same format, and that's tends to get you in trouble. Memorizing and cramming tend to get you in trouble also because you don't genuinely learn and retain these things. So if you can find a way to learn and break the habit of thinking that memorizing, cramming and copying and all those similar strategies air great ways, toe learn. If you can see that those are strategies that often go on in a poor learning environment. If you can recognize that poor learning environment and extract yourself from it, then you can put yourself in a learning environment. That's positive. I know. In grad school, I saw a lot of memorizing, cramming and copying, and I did my share, especially of memorizing things of just trying to read things and memorize them with no genuine desire to actually learn them. And I then extracted myself after a couple of years of grad school. When I started experiencing the learning I did on my own for my own business. It made my grad school learning seem completely pointless and awful. Not because of the grad school itself, as much is my place in it. I could see that my learning potential was so fantastically bigger then what I was likely to do in grad school that if I would just learn on my own. I could learn so much that I could give so much more to the world. And that's the thing the more I learned, the more you learn, the more you can give back to the world. The world needs you to learn. The world wants you to learn and do the best you can. The world does not want you to sit there and suffer through memorizing and cramming for exams, copying other people's work in order to get ahead. The world wants you to bring this creative energy that you feel me bringing into your world . Now the world wants you to do that. In one way or another, however, you are supposed to express it, whether it's making something crafted by hand, making something crafted online or any combination of things you can craft and create, the world wants you to learn and create and to be a productive member. I hope that giving you thes signs of bad habits can help you figure out where you should spend your learning energy in a place of love and where you don't cram memorizing copy but that you just freely learn and taking everything joyfully. So I hope this has been as awesome as it's felt for me to share this with you. I hope it's felt that way to receive it. 22. If you do not want to learn something, why try at all?: If you do not want to learn something, why try and learn it at all? I know throughout school and most of our lives off our normal definition of learning, we often I especially have often learned things I did not want to know how to do. For example, I did not want to learn about music and sixth grade. I had no desire to learn about music, and yet I sat through a year of learning about music. I hated the class. I was rude. I was a bad student. I still somehow got an A in it, and I hated it. That might be OK for school and classes and coercive learning situations. However, you more than likely are not in a coercive learning situation now, and it helps to separate that course of learning lifestyle from the learning lifestyle. Your and now, if you're in this course, then you likely are in a situation where you can choose what toe learn, so that means you don't have Teoh longer. Any. Follow those practices those course of learning practices off, forcing yourself to learn things you think you should learn. That's the beauty of the ability to learn rediscovered. You don't have to learn things you don't want to learn, and I know that sounds easy enough. Toe explain on the surface. Here's how it looks when I'm actually trying to do it. So a lot of the things I've learned in my business I've learned some of them with idea that I have to know this. And there have been a few things I've tried to learn that I did not like learning and did not want to learn, like email marketing. Now I know I don't need to learn that at all. In other words, I can still send promotional emails with built in software. I don't need to go and learn about how to collect email addresses. How to use mail Chimp How to write all these subject lines. I don't have to do that, So why would I try and do it all? Breaking those coercive learning habits can be challenging because when you're usedto learning things, you don't want to learn you easily can all the sudden somewhat assigned yourself a topic toe learn, realize you don't want to learn it, and then you end up continuing to force yourself through it When I went to learn how to code my first coding course. I got a few hours in and I realized, you know what? Maybe I don't want to learn this after all. Maybe I just rather work with people who already are experts in it. And so I stopped learning it. For now, the fact that I want to learn it may change in the future. I may want to learn coding more in the future. The thing is, I have to trust my feelings of what's right. If I'm trying to learn something and I'm resisting it, then it's probably better to just give it up completely and go and spend my time learning things that I love to learn like you to me. I've loved learning how to make and launch and sell successful courses on you know, me. I love it, so I keep doing it. So the learning keep happens if I'm not willing to learn something than the easiest, most rational thing to do is to stop is to not learn it at all, and it's okay to be a quitter when you don't like doing something because I have a lot of things I'd love to do, and I have a very small amount of time to actually do them. So it's important for me that I focus all of my energy on things that I want to do. And I love to do because I do not have the amount of energy and time to force myself to do things I don't like to do so. The trick for me is to figure out how I can like doing things that are good for me, for example, working out. I've got to figure out how to do weight lifting in a way that I like. The best way I have now is to do it with a personal trainer. I have already figured out a great way. I love doing cardio, so I do that for my learning. I figured out a lot of different ways. I love to learn things, so I do it so you no longer are in a world where you have to learn anything you don't want to, and just because you don't want to learn it now that's all that matters. If you know you don't want to learn something, you don't have to learn it now you always can go back and learn it later. The worst thing you can do is try and force yourself now to learn something you don't want to do. So I hope I've given you the motivation and inspiration to be okay with quitting learning at least one thing you're trying to force yourself to learn in your life right now. 23. Standardized tests give no real idea of your true learning potential.: have you thought for most of your life's that standardized tests were a very good indication of your ability to learn. I know I did, because I did really good on standardized tests, and I always thought that made me really smart. And then then I could learn anything, and that turned out to not be the truth at all. In fact, that made it very hard for me to learn most things outside of one. I thought I could learn. Standardized tests basically reflect the amount of energy and effort you've put into school over your life. So going back to everything I've said in this course, if you don't like school, standardized tests do not give an accurate reflection at all of what you can learn. Standardized tests are not useful at all, in my opinion, because standardized tests are very biased in favor of people who like school. And now, if you're trying to use standardized tests to decide if you should do more school, I guess that makes sense. However, if you're really trying to learn and if the school environments just write, a hard worker is almost always better than a high standardized test taker, the data for PhD program shows that someone with a lower standardized test score with more life experience, which usually means older and who's willing to work hard is much more likely to finish their PhD than someone who just rolls in with the high standardized test score and expects everything to be easy. Life is like that. Your standardized test scores don't get you very far in life once you get out of school. And employers like Google have found Google initially was very biased in terms of standardized test scores. They tried toe only hire people with really high standardized test scores. When they did data on that, it showed that there was almost no way for them to predict beforehand who would be a good employee. And that's because who's a good employee primarily revolves around who's willing to put the most time and effort and who's going to be the most loyal and dedicated to Google. It doesn't matter as much what the standardized test scores were, or even what previous job experience waas. So for your learning, this applies directly and for my learning, especially what you've done in the past gives you, ah, big head start in what you're trying to do in the future. And standardized test scores are only a reflection off your school ability. So when you are trying to learn things out in the real world, for example, you're trying to learn all these things online like I am. My standardized test scores didn't mean almost anything. And that's why I got so frustrated when I started out. My Why is all this stuff so hard? It's because it wasn't in the format that I was used to learning in school and standardized tests gave me this inflated idea of myself that I could just learn anything without putting in the effort so often student that have high standardized test scores like me. Then get this idea that they don't have to work hard. And that's the most devastating idea. You can get in your head for learning because, like I said about driving, learning is very hard. If you're not willing to put in the effort, and if you don't love what you're doing, if you love what you're doing and you're willing to put in the effort, learning will be easy. That doesn't mean there won't be painful lessons. There will always be painful lessons. Anything you do, there will be painful lessons. But the process of learning will be filled with joy, excitement and exploration. So if you've got low standardized test scores, just throw out any of those ideas about how smart you are, how much you can learn. I know one of the things that always bothered me. I held on the home I standardized tests or just go good. I'm so much better than all of you guys. It always bothered me to see someone who was really successful in doing good, who did poorly on standardized tests because it showed the lie that I believed in that standardized test scores were this holy grail of your intelligence and ability to learn and same thing with I Q tests. I obviously took those two and was happy with my results. And the thing is, that doesn't matter. Those things don't matter. And that's why I've been discovering about my own learning. If I'm willing to put in the effort, that's what matters. And of course, I've done good in school because I've put in the effort in school. I was one of those kids who would go home and really do my homework, I would go do my homework. I'd spent hours writing in trying hard to get in an a paper, doing all of the problems in my math homework, and I thought all along it was because I was intelligent until senior year in high school. And then in college, I stopped putting in the effort and that my grades started to go down, so it didn't matter how much I had done in the past. When I stopped putting in the effort, I stopped getting in his good of grades. Now I'd put in so much effort in the past, I still could ride on that. You can throw out the ideas of standardized test score being relevant to your learning, though, because it's effort. It's effort and love. If you love what you're doing and you will put the effort and it doesn't matter what your standardized test scores were it those say nothing about the potential you have for learning. They may indicate that various types of school and certain kinds of book learning which aren't relevant to most success in life, will be harder for you, and that's fine if you've got low standardized test scores. Ole was almost always because you didn't like it, wouldn't put effort. And and there's nothing wrong with that. There's all kinds of things I haven't liked and haven't been willing to put the effort in tow. Learn. And I'm okay with not having done well on them. I want to be here and do what I'm supposed to be good at what I'm supposed to and be useful in that respect and then depend on other people like you to be good at what you are supposed to be doing and for you to share what you've learned in the areas you're good with with me. And then I share what I'm good with with you and then between all of us, when we all do this, then we can have a very good world of potential where people reach their potential for learning. When you and I can lead by example, reach our potential for learning, then we can help others around us do the same. So regardless of what standardized test scores you've got, it should be great news that that doesn't matter for your future of learning 24. Turn the TV off, silence your phone, and close your music player.: If you want to learn effectively, you will want to learn in an environment of complete peace and serenity, which means no distractions. When I'm learning, I turn that TV off. I silence my phone and I turn my music player off on my computer. A lot of my best learning happens at places like the gym, where I can listen to something and just focus. Or when I'm on a plane where I can just do that or when I'm on my computer and I'm learning and I don't have anything else going. I used to play music. I used to always have something going in the background, especially music. And I've found that having any kind of distraction throws off the mind. If you remember from those Lu Ma City brain training games, having any kind of little distraction makes it way harder to learn. While I'm filming these lectures, I'm not listening to music. I don't have the TV on. I'm not trying to take phone calls now or think about when I'm going to do later. I'm just sitting here doing this with you, and that's how the best learning happens. You've got to give your mind a clear playing field. Think of it like this. If you're going to play soccer game more baseball or football, whatever your sport is, if you're going to play that you just want the players that are supposed to be on the field right, you probably don't want a bunch of random people walking around in the middle of your game . That would ruin the quality of the game, wouldn't it? If there were 10 20 people standing around right in the middle of where your soccer field is and you're trying to kick the ball in there in the way when you're distracting your mind with things like TV music or messing around your phone, then you don't get as smooth and as high of a quality of learning experience. Because then your mind is trying to process all these things at once. The song lyrics or just thoughts. You want a silent, peaceful mind, so the easiest thing you can do is turn off all the distractions, turn off the TV, turn off your cell phone or silence it. Turn off your music player and just sit there and learn. That's also an easy way to honestly see, rather you like learning something. If you like learning something enough to just learn it, not do anything else, then you probably have a lot of joy learning it. If when you turn off the music of the TV, you find Whoa, this is not very fun. I don't like this. Then you've got the truth, and that's what you need to know. I remember in college so many people would try and have the TV on or listen to music or do all these things all. They studied me. I would grab a book and find a quiet place and just sit there and read that book. And I didn't even have to take notes as much because it was easy to just process the book when it was quiet. So you may have developed some of these bad study habits because you tried to learn things you didn't like learning. So you tried to distract yourself from what you are learning, which makes it even harder to learn when you love what you're learning. You do not want any distractions, no distractions at all. Every distraction hurt your learning a lot, So break that habit of having a distraction available while you're learning and be able like I do. When I'm learning something, I try and have a much focus as possible. Just zoom in on what I'm learning, and then it effortlessly comes in. So thank you for watching this. I hope it's been helpful. 25. Breaking the habit of guessing or faking that you know something.: are you often finding yourself acting like, you know something or afraid to say you don't know? I know, especially in the U. S. A. Where I live. Our society is rampant with people trying to act like they know when they don't. And I know I've done that a lot of my life. I didn't want to get caught not knowing anything. Do you know this? Oh, yeah, I know about that. Do you know how to? Yeah, I know about all I can find out to do that. I didn't want to look like that guy. That was stupid. Who didn't know? Do you know how to do this? Oh, no. I don't know how to do that. I was so afraid of being like that. The problem is, that's a really bad habit to be into for learning, because you need to be able to be honest with yourself about what you know and what you don't know. Especially about what you don't know. When I first started working online, I did not want to admit I didn't know anything. Because if I did it men, I didn't know anything. The amount of things I didn't know would be obvious and it would be really clear. I had no idea what I was doing it all online. So I didn't want to admit I didn't know how to do anything like I didn't know how to make a WordPress website. I didn't know how to get people to come visit my website. I didn't know how to ranking Google. I didn't know how to make good YouTube videos. I didn't know how to make money online. I didn't know how to write good content. I mean, this year, staggering number of things I didn't know when I started was amazing. And yet I remained incomplete ignorance for years on a lot of things because I was unwilling to admit I didn't know them even to myself. And then when I wouldn't admit I didn't know things, I didn't realize I needed to go learn them. So the easiest way to break the habit of trying to feel like you know everything is to be okay, openly with not knowing things I rarely would ever say in most of my life that I didn't know anything. I always tried to act like I knew. I know I got this Now I'm very comfortable saying, I don't know, unless you ask me a fairly narrow range of questions, I will tell you, I don't know because that's the truth. I don't know most things in the universe, I don't know. And that's okay. I'm okay with not knowing. I don't even know who I am because the moment I try and say, who am I? Well, I'm not just a name. I'm not just what I've done. I'm not just what I might do. I'm not even just what I'm doing now. I don't even know who I am, and that's okay. I'm okay with that. Because when I define who I am, then I limit myself. Jerry has had this much school. Jerry knows about these topics. Jerry's and AdWords or Facebook professional like those things are all very limiting. I don't know who I am and that gives me infinite power to be whatever life wants me to be, to learn whatever I'm supposed to learn. And that comes from honesty of saying honestly, what do I know about? I do know a lot about Facebook ads. I also don't know a lot of things about Facebook ads. That's one of my areas of known specialty online. I know a few things about how to be successful on YouTube. There's lots of things I don't know about how to be successful on YouTube. I know a lot about you. To me. I also don't know a lot about you know me. That's honesty. And what you want is to be honest with other people about what you don't know, because that will help you be honest with yourself about what you don't know when I'm honest with myself about what? I don't know that I can go learn it. I can go learn more about YouTube because I know there's lots of things I don't know about it if I think I've got all of it. If I think I got all of the information about YouTube, my mind is closed. I can't learn more. I'm unwilling to let more information in, and that's why I'm hesitant to even call myself an expert or guru or anything like that, because I want to admit there are great limitations to what I know that allows me to keep learning more, keep learning more when I say I'm an expert. I know all this stuff that blocks me from learning more. So trust, honesty, humility, thes helped me to learn mawr by admitting where my limitations are on Facebook ads. I have not done a lot of ads on a lot of different topics. I can intentionally learn those if I want to. If I just sit there and say I'm so great at it than I am blind toe where my weaknesses are , I want to know why I'm weak so that I can emphasize my strength and so that I have the option to learn where I'm weak. So this is made easiest when you're honest with other people about when you don't know. So give it a try. If you haven't done it before. Next time someone asks you something you don't genuinely know the answer to. For example, how do you get to this place and you don't know, Just say I don't know. I don't know. It's so much easier than trying to guess and look like you know and try and give them these directions when you don't know, and I've started to recognize when people say something that is other than I don't know in the place of it, and that helps me to diagnosis and more communicate with them. The more honest I am about what I don't know, the easier it is to read people who are trying to tell me something that they don't know. So when I ask someone, how do you do this, or what do you think of that? And when they try and bluster, then I know they don't know. So then I know I will need to do more research in that area. When I just went around blustering all the time, I couldn't tell when other people were blustering me back. I mean, maybe sometimes I could. But most of the time I couldn't tell because I couldn't tell when I was doing it myself anymore. I done it for so long. If you've gone around faking it for so long, how do you know your be actually doing it? So if you can figure out honestly what you don't know and then admit to not knowing it, you can unlock all of your learning potential. I appreciate this time you've spent with me, and I hope this has been useful for you. 26. Every single moment is an opportunity to learn something.: one new learning habit, I have added. That's made a great difference for me is looking at every single moment as a teachable learning experience. In other words, there aren't certain times of the day where I'm supposed to learn or certain times of the week or the month, or I'm not limited to taking a course toe. Learn that every moment of every day. All the time is a teachable learning experience. When I'm doing these videos, this is a teachable experience for me when I'm in the bathroom, when I'm brushing my teeth when I'm going to bed when I'm going to sleep, there's something for me to learn there. And so I try and have an open mind every minute of every day because the day is bull of times and moments to learn all of them, and that when I am aware of that, I always I'm looking around for something to learn, and it's mostly something within me to learn how I work or how the world works. And if you look at the definition of learning, learning is not just about something new, but it's about reinforcing existing things you already know or modifying them. Looking at my learning that way allows me to realize every single moment I'm either making something new that I'm learning. I'm modifying something I know or I'm reinforcing something. I know every single moment. Then I want to reinforce the good things that I know. And I want to be on the lookout for things I can modify to be a better person, a person of greater service. And if there's something I don't know, and I'm aware of that I want to allow that new learning experience to happen. So I try and look at every single moment. There's a teachable experience there and look at life is more personalized. Every little thing that happens, there's something for me to learn there, and even if it's just to reinforce what I already know, that helps me to learn always to keep growing too rapidly learn. And that's where my biggest breakthrough and learning has happened over the last year is going from looking at Learning is a very compartmentalized thing. I do in a very limited number of situations where I don't know what I'm doing to every single moment I'm learning. I've unlocked the power of learning throughout my entire life now and it allows me learn about who I am. Deep down, as I said, I don't know who I am deep down, so every moment is a chance to learn a little bit about it. It allows me to look at every aspect of my life with the idea that I can bod if I what I'm doing at any time. So if I see a new way that I can eat, I see a new way that Aiken drink water. I see a new way to look at a tree. I see a new way to breathe. There's something new. Every moment I can learn that I can use to modify what I already know and that if I am not aware of the learning that's possible. Usually what I'm doing is reinforcing what I already know most of my life. Learning was spent reinforcing what I already knew, which was a dangerous thing to do when I had all these bad habits when I had all these struggles and all this suffering and pain that I mostly created for myself. What I took out of each moment was reinforcement that I was right, and I didn't need to change. Everything that came along reinforced the idea. I was right and didn't need to change. What I will do now is I try and reinforce the good ideas and be aware of which ideas I'm reinforcing all the time. Okay. Am I reinforcing a good idea right now? Am I reinforcing gratitude, Honesty, humility and every single little thing I do is there for me to learn either something new, modify or reinforce my existing learning. So that makes every moment a lot more exciting. There's something here to learn right now while I'm talking with you. There's something here to learn, and that's cool. That's fun. And that makes my whole life fund because there's always something every moment, toe learn. I feel more like a child now, where the world is full of things for me to explore. And that's fun. When I went around for most of my adult life, acting like I knew all the time and simply reinforcing when I already thought, I knew life seemed too boring like it was un explored like there was nothing I could do that would make a difference. So this learning this way of opening my mind to each moment is a learning experience. A teachable experience helps most fantastically when things are difficult when something's challenging. I know this is a powerful learning experience. When I'm having a hard time with something, it's a powerful opportunity to learn. And so I'm grateful to have learned enough that I can share this with you now and give you the ability right now to unlock all of the learning that's possible for you in your whole life. 27. Learn to see the similarities in life and you will find you already know a lot!: have you been programmed to see the differences all the time in life? Toe. Look at two people and try and figure out what is different between them to look at two different subjects you're learning and see what's different from one subject to another. I was programmed that way, too, and it makes learning really hard because most things in life have this ingrained similarity in them. And when you go around looking for differences all the time, life looks really complicated. Everything looks so specialized, and it seems so hard to learn that you'd probably rather just not start with it at all. When you see the similarities in life, everything starts to get rapidly, easier toe learn because everything you have learned before becomes relevant to what you're learning now. So for me, that's happened really well with learning online, and it allows me learn all of these subjects and teach ah, fantastic range of subjects because I see the similarities across all the things I've learned before. So, for example, one of the areas I'm learning a lot inactivity is spirituality, spiritual practice, Zen and similar categories, so that allows me to bring those same things and to see how those are woven in with things like learning a lot of the things I notice in my spiritually learning, I see that those applied directly to how to learn. I see that those apply directly in areas of my business. I see those apply on you. To me, things like doing a little bit today, just focusing on now things like that that are very obvious and focused on, and spirituality are brought in very clearly to other areas of my life. So then it makes things so easy to learn that I can learn so many different things, and then I can teach those things. When I started out, everything seems so different, so frustrating. This interface is different from that in her face and then encouraged me to try and get really good at specialty things. The more I've opened my mind and realize how similar things are. I feel comfortable learning these in brand new things because of the similarities. So, for example, Twitter is an area of had a big success with this Before starting on you to me, I thought Twitter was mostly useless and an accomplished very little with Twitter Then I got inspired to try and learn how to do my own Twitter better so that I could make a course on it. Well, when I started learning Twitter, I could see that I already knew most of Twitter because I already knew a lot of similar things to Twitter already knew all kinds of basic online marketing concepts. I understood the news feed format from Facebook, with the difference being in Twitter that there is no news feed algorithm. It's just brute force, which makes it easy. Then all you have to do is pile up followers. I understood from Facebook about how to build fans, and I took that knowledge into Twitter. Although the details didn't work out the same, I still understood that having a huge number of fans is the most important thing I could do . So I had a lot of success with that very quickly. Then I made a course on it, and now people have had a lot of success using the course themselves. So in just a little tiny bit of time, I was able to learn something very valuable for myself. Show how to do it, refine it enough to then teach it. So when you see the similarities in life, that's how powerful your learning gets. When you Onley look at differences, everything seems so mysterious. When you bring the similarities with you, you'll find you go into everything with a strong foundation. And then all you need to do is figure out what you don't know and then know that, then learn it. So when you are willing to admit where you don't know, it also becomes very easy to figure out what you do know. When I started my business online, I couldn't hardly learning thing because I didn't want to admit how much I didn't know, because that then it be obvious what a fraud I waas here. I'm offering to do all these things I've never done and can't do myself so the more I've admitted what I don't know. For example, I'm pretty good with Google AdWords. I think, however, there's a ton of things I don't know about it. I'm willing to admit that, and so I have the potential to learn deeper and Google AdWords enough to do an advanced Google AdWords course and then make that course on you to me so that's one of my future projects. I wouldn't have the courage to go into that and do that without my understanding that most everything similar that if I can get way deep into advanced Facebook ads, there's no reason I can't get way deep into advanced Google. AdWords and I can't do the same things on Facebook ads and put them into Google AdWords. So that's a miracle of seeing the similarity. So if you can, even right now, in learning this and whatever else you learned today, try and see the similarities between things you're learning and combining that with knowing that every single moment is a teachable experience. At some point you'll get to a conversion where you see that everything is one. And everything you learn is a basic lesson off the same lesson. So then everything really gets crazy from there. And you just get into this wild learning potential that you're unlocking with me now. So thank you for being here with me on this exciting journey, and I hope this has been helpful with you 28. You can only learn today because you forget yesterday and never get to tomorrow.: how many days in your life have you noticed that while you lived them, they were yesterday or tomorrow in another way of putting this every day off? My life is today. I can, of course, remember other days. I can predict what tomorrow might have. Every day I've actually lived. Has been today. It's always today. It's always now. In fact, you could argue that yesterday and tomorrow our imaginations, they're not riel. Which might explain why witness testimony is so unreliable because what is happening in everyone's imagination is different and even things like cameras. This recent dress online has made the point very well that even pictures and cameras that we've come toe over rely on are not very well at representing reality outside of what we can see ourselves firsthand. Knowing this is a very powerful way to enhance your learning, because the lesson that comes from this is knowing that you can only learn today. You can't learn yesterday, and you can't learn tomorrow because every day is today and you can Onley learn and try and do better today when you say I'll do it tomorrow I'll learn how to do something new tomorrow already learned enough yesterday. I don't need to do anything today. Then when tomorrow comes, it's still the same day. It's still today. So what you've got is a pattern of daily living then So, for example, if I did that, I could tell you I learned enough yesterday. I'll learn more tomorrow. I'm not doing anything. Today. I go to bed, I wake up. I've got the same thing in my head. I learned enough yesterday or the day before. I'll learn more tomorrow. I'm not doing anything today. 30 years later, I wake up. I learned enough 30 years ago. I can learn some more tomorrow. I'm not doing anything today. What you want to do is focus your energy and effort on today and trust that tomorrow will come out. How it was supposed to entrust that the past put you in the perfect position for today. The sitting sample of where I talked before about bringing in those principles from other aspects of life. This is a big part of spirituality in being focused in the present moment being focused in today. This is a big part of recovery programs to is being focused in today So if you're learning , you want to focus in today and that goes back to what I said about limitations. Also, when you're focused in today, you can accept that you have a very limited amount of time to learn something today, and it can help you to figure out what is really worth learning When you want to take on a big project. It can be daunting to think, Oh, man, I want to learn coding that might take 1000 hours toe learn really well, and then you think, Why better just not do that at all, regardless of how you feel about it? What I try and do is think of what would I be willing toe learn a little bit about every day because today is every day. So what I try and do is figure out a life where my day is full of things. I'm learning a little bit about every day. So you to me, I'm willing to learn a little bit about you to me every damn willing to try every day and love doing this work on you to me, and I'm willing to put effort into it every day. I'm willing to learn how to be a little bit better of a video game or every day because it's fun. So I'm willing to spend a little bit of time everyday playing a video game and learning how to be better at it. Right now, it's League of Legends and call of Duty. I'm willing to learn how to be a little bit better lover every day. I've been married to my wife. I am grateful for over four years now I'm willing to learn how to be a little bit better lover. Today. I'm willing to learn how to be a better family member. Ah, better son, a better brother. I'm willing to learn how to do that today So you can see my day is filled with things I'm willing to learn how to do today, and that allows me to learn all the time when you're putting off your learning till tomorrow or you thinking you learned enough yesterday or you're mad, you didn't learn enough yesterday. All of that disrupts the actual place where you can learn. The Onley place you can learn is now. You can never learn in some other moment because every moment is now. If you've known us, you've never experienced anything in your life that really. In other words, that's actually here, not in your mind and even your mind. If you're thinking about something in the past or the future, you still experience it through now. So when you can apply that to your learning, you want to learn now that's when you want to learn. Now every moment is an opportunity to learn. And so that's how I learned. And that's how I'm able to learn. So much is because I'm willing to learn. Now. I try and be aware of any moment I'm not willing to learn, because that is very dangerous for me. I cannot afford for my health to have moments where I'm not willing to learn, because then I'm starting to shut out the world. And when I shut out the world, I go to a very dark, self destructive place of decay. Like I said in another lecture, life exists in two parts growth and decay. If you're willing to learn your in growth, so I try and be willing to learn every moment because I want to be in growth when it's time to decay, I will decay. And in the meantime, I don't want to spend half my day growing in half my day decaying to step back two steps forward. I don't want to do that. I want 10 steps forward and I'll take a step back whenever I'm supposed to. So I hope this lecture about the power of learning now, as opposed to putting anything off. Now you still have to accept your limitations. If you accept that your limitation is that you can't do anything in a time different from today, a time different from now. Then I hope that can help you to start learning right this second and not have to put it off any longer, even if that means you have to go tab out of this and start working on something else you've been wanting to learn. I'll be here whenever you need me. So thank you for sharing this with me, and I hope it's been inspiring for you. 29. Knowing a little bit about everything is much more powerful than specilization.: for learning. It's much more powerful to have general knowledge across all categories than it is to be specialized in a few and not know anything about the rest. Most of my life I lived in the specialized category, but now I've moved over into the general category, and this spreadsheet provides nice concrete proof of what I'm talking about in a simplified way. So let me explain the spreadsheet first. So this spreadsheet starts with life skills on the left hand column. It then moves into a specialized look at life skills and then a generalized look at life skills. So these are life skills rated from 1 to 10 the way you might rate them on a survey. And then they're split into specialized in general, based on how it's person who is specialized would answer. And then a person who is general might answer Now, of course, you might also have the egomaniac would answer 10 on everything. So for that, we're just going to disregarded and have. This is an honest look at the way you could spend your skill points you could say in life, so each of these has ah 113 skill points total that's accept your limitations that you can only do so much. So each of these has applied exactly 113 skill points into various categories that are important for life. Things like relationships, diet, exercise, emotions, computing, social media. Now, I've just put these skills up here, you know, as an idea. So these I'm not saying these are the exact life skills you need. You know, Google, for example. But this is kind of how learning works. So what are these numbers on the bottom? These numbers on the bottom are the total from that. Now these are multiplied because if added, these come out the exact same. However, life skills are more of multiplication then addition. So in other words, if you looked at it like thes two from addition, these people you could say are both equal. They have just the same opportunity and ability at life. So you could call this life ability down here, and this number divides the bigger one by the smaller one. So what I'm showing is that having a general learning approach is very powerful when you look at life as multiplication and that tends to be how life skills and learning are. Life skills and learning tend to be like multiplication because it's not as much about how high you can go. It's about the eras. You know, nothing intend to punish you really bad. So, for example, if you know nothing about language, you tend to get punished in anything that involves language. For example, if you just know one language and you're not even that good with it, you tend to have a lot more limited options. Whereas if you have more learning in that language so that you can write in it read and it talk well in it and maybe even a little learning in another language, you have a much bigger ability to do all kinds of things in life. So I look at it like multiplication because everything you know across categories tends to multiply together. We often think of life as Onley additive is if it doesn't matter how you spend your skill points. But looking at life, it consistently to me appears multiplication tive, and that's why you see some people that are so fantastically successful and you see most people never go anywhere in their lives in terms of what they can contribute to the world now. Ultimately, I think everyone is equal, and we all make a great contribution. What I'm sharing here is learning, and I'm guessing you're wanting the learn so you can make the greatest contribution to the world. So in this respect, learning is definitely multiplication of where your skills multiply together and I've done a 1 to 10 scale for simplicity. The effect of this gets even more extreme if you do things like hours of learning. So what we mostly do in our lives is try and specialize in things all the time because our ego like specialization. I like to be able to say that I'm really good at something and then live in this fantasy world where no one's better at it. So, for example, when I started my business, I wanted to feel like I was the best at business, and I really knew what I was doing, that I really knew how to help people and give. And I was really good at math and look, I'm so good at work and learning in games and shopping and exercise. The problem is the areas you know nothing in will absolutely punish you. I came across this in psychology as it goes to buying. I realized at one point I had absolutely no idea about psychology and that psychology plays a huge role in people's buying decisions. While I took a little time to learn about psychology, and now I radically have a different viewpoint on the way people buy things. For example, before psychology, I thought people just bought things rationally. Now that I've taken psychology, nearly all purchases people make are irrational. They do not go into logical computations. In fact, the irrational process happens first, and then the rational process comes in afterwards to justify the purchase. And I'm sure you've either made a purchase yourself or, you know, someone else who has irrational buying habits that drive you insane. Most buying is irrational, and that's the power of having a more while rounded learning same thing with finance. If you don't know anything about basic finance, it's really hard to get a grip on your own finances. And then this leads to the idea off the person defined by concepts. So, for example, I'm a person who's great at relationships, great communication, great at business. I'm awful. I don't know anything about psychology, and it's amazing if you could get someone who specialized to even admit what they don't know. But if they do admit it, you'll be amazed at how many things they don't know anything about. And often that will be accompanied with things like, Oh, I hate history. I can't stand social media. I don't use Google. I don't do anything around my home. I have a housekeeper. I just eat whatever I want to end the water emotions. So you'll realize after looking at this, you realize most people are specialized. And that's why life's hard life is hard when you are specialized. Now look at the general skills. They're not a lot of difference. The difference is there are no tens in the general skills. There are fewer areas of hyper specialization, also like shopping. I took a few points out exercise took a few points out, but look, when you multiply these what happens? This result is 60,000 times bigger than this result, and the reason is in multiplication. You want the numbers toe all be very close to each other when you have a number like one in 10. When you have a big difference, it's much better to have two fives than one in 10. So, for example, one times 10 is 10 but five times five is 25. So push that aspect of multiplication across your entire life and you'll see that general skills across every life category are fantastically powerful. I hope this lecture. If you like Excel spreadsheets and you're kind of math oriented as I am, then I hope this lecture will do a good job of showing you the power of being generalized. You want general learning because of this 60,000 times MAWR life ability. And I guess I should paste this over here because this one is divided by that one. So 60,000 times more life ability when you have general. That's why your life is more than likely frustrating. If you have a very frustrating life, it's more than likely because you're specialized. If you're general and you know a little bit about everything, life is way easier. I know because I was specialized before, and that came often from not wanting to admit I had categories that were once I often just wanted to ignore those like those don't even exist. I hate them. I don't like them. When I opened my mind up to my learning and I started learning a little bit about all these different things, then my life has gotten 60,000 times easier. So that's the power of general learning and attached to this lecture. You can look at this and you can play around and put your own numbers in. You can see what the results come out too. So thank you for experiencing this lecture with me. And I hope this way of looking at learning is helpful for you. 30. The best learning comes from being wrong, from failing, and from mistakes.: what are some of the most dreaded things in our world? If you think about the movies you've seen and the painful situations in your life, do you think of things like being wrong, making a big mistake or failure? How often do we see these things portrayed as the worst, most awful thing that happens in life? The's big mistakes. We make these big failures being wrong. How often is it that these things are portrayed as awful as shameful of things that should be avoided at all costs? If you fail this, the whole world's going end. You were wrong. How awful does it seem to be wrong to be a failure to make mistakes? The problem is, the best learning I found comes from failure from making mistakes and from being wrong. Almost all of the great learning in my life has started with a big wrong, a big mistake or big failure. Rather, that's big in terms of a big, whopping failure in one day or ah, lot of little failures over a lot of days leading up to a big failure for my business. I had so many failures in getting it started, it was hard to believe the first year was one failure after another. One mistake after another 50 wrongs after a 51st wrong, I got tons of things. Ban suspended, punishments, nasty responses. All kinds of bad things happen, starting my business out. And yet I then started making good money in the second year of my business is I started to learn from all those mistakes and then, in the third year, another big wave of mistakes as I took the success from the second year and made even more gigantic, mostly financial mistakes in my business, mistake after mistake failure after failure. Now, after over three years, I finally am gratefully in a place where I'm functioning pretty smoothly, and I'm sure I have my biggest mistakes ahead of me. The thing is, I've learned from these mistakes. These mistakes are all awesome. Learning experiences in dating The biggest, most painful failure was also where I learned more in a few months than I had in my entire life. Dating was consistently ah, huge frustrate in ah, big black hole. Ah, big mystery to me until I had a gigantic failure resulting from dating a coworker. Big, gigantic failure and then after that dating had this ease to it. I messed it up so bad once that after that it just got a lot easier. And then within one year, 1.5 years of making the biggest dating mistake, I'd make the most painful, awful experience I've had in dating. Within a year and 1/2 from that, I had met my wife, and now I have the happiest relationship I've ever had in my life. I doubt I could have got here without making that massive mistake. When I look at people who are kind of in unhappy relationships, that pattern usually is that they didn't make a lot of huge mistakes before they got in that relationship. Same thing with businesses and jobs. People that aren't willing to take chances and make mistakes tend to come out last, tend to get really frustrated, tend to be in positions where they don't know what to do. Ah, lot of people when they are on the death bed, I've heard have said that the two things I wish they dunmore of or take chances and spend more time with family when it comes to your learning, you want to take chances and they don't need to be stupid, reckless chances. But they have to be some kind of risk. Usually building my business has been one risk after another, and I've got brutalized failures on lots of things. $2800 on a movie theater at that didn't work. $8000 bookkeeping error. $10,000.0 desk am pain that produced almost nothing and where I had to hiring and then fire a whole bunch of people, all kinds of painful mistakes. And yet painful mistakes are where the best learning happens. If I'm not making mistakes, I'm not learning. And so for me, I have to be taking some chances, even if it's just minor things. That's why I've learned so much and can teach all these things because I've made so many mistakes and all these things. When I tell my stories, people are usually shocked at how many things have went wrong. I've been pitched as a success as an entrepreneur online, and what I see is someone who's been willing to screw up a whole lot of things in return for being able to deliver a great value to the world and to be able to learn. So if you want to open your learning, you have to be willing to make mistakes. If you're not willing to make mistakes, you're also not willing to learn from those mistakes. It can help if you look at it as a learning opportunity. If every moment is a learning opportunity, then there are no mistakes. There are simply opportunities to learn, and sometimes you're learning can be judged from the past as a mistake. But since we're only here and now there are only learning opportunities and I try. Look at every life. Situation now is a learning opportunity, especially when something I find disagreeable happens. My dog, when my wife and I came home from having dinner with my family the other night, had butchered a possum in my backyard. She my wife and I's backyard. To be fair, our dog, she chewed the whole possum up from head to toe. It was barely but still alive. I would have been really frustrated with that in other parts of my life with this outlook that learning is every moment. I looked at it as thank you. This is a great learning experience for me, a learning experience of life and death, of understanding of love. This is a very good learning experience, and then life becomes more of an orchestrated song where you start to realize that the part you're playing is part of a bigger plan, and you're not all isolated. Things aren't all self centered on you and that things that are bad that come into your life are the greatest opportunities to learn my dad passing away last year. I was mad about that for more than a year before it happened and months after it happened, when I finally started to open my mind. That was the single most powerful, inspiring learning experience for me. I've suffered so much that I finally could learn to live a better life. My mistake of being mad and resentful about what happened to my dad was, ah, huge, hurtful, long, painful one where I suffered and missed out on a lot of the joint my own life because of my dad's suffering. Then, after making that mistake so long, I finally was able to take better care of myself. That's why I'm here right now is because I started taking better care of myself. I wouldn't be here if I hadn't. All of these things all come together. Every moment is a learning opportunity. And the bigger, more painful the mistake is, the more you can learn from it, the more I've learned from mine. So I hope I can show that mistakes, failures, errors, admitting you're wrong thes air, powerful tools for learning. And if you wrap them all up in shame, then you're also wrapping up your learning potential in sticking it away in a place where you can't do anything wrong, which makes it really hard to learn. So I hope I've explained this Well, I'm honored. You've spent this time with me and hope this is helpful. 31. Love and experience produce talent, ability, and skills.: do you want to have talents, abilities and skills? Then you're in luck. All you need is love and experience, and you will produce talent, ability and skills, love and experiences. Almost all you need to learn anything, be really talented, have great abilities and demonstrate herbal skills at it. Now that sounds simple. Having the love for doing something tends to be the biggest part of the equation. If you love doing something, you will do it and then you will gain experience doing it, and then you will build talents, abilities and skills. So all that I've done online is a reflection off the love I have for what I do. My success in schools, a reflection for my love off doing school. Anything I've failed to learn at was a reflection of me not loving to do it. When I love to do something, I will keep doing it and then I will get better at it. The idea that talents, abilities and skills of something you're born with, something certain people are gifted with something certain people get by luck. Those remove the responsibility of you to build your own talents, abilities and skills. They were placed things on other people as if through divine placement. And then what they do is they strip all the love and experience out of what other people have accomplished. So when you look at people and you see someone who is good at something like a professional athlete, what you want to see is the love and experience they've put into getting where they are. They have loved playing that sport long enough to have played it thousands of hours and to have gotten really good at it. And that love permeates through everything you might say. Well, some people are just more athletic than others. We all look fairly the same one. Maura, baby, If you start out learning something really early like a sport, if you start out being really active early as a baby as a child, then you already telling your body what shape it should be, and your body will shape itself around what you want to do with it. And of course, that can lead you to say, if you're older, well, it's too late for me already. The good news is it's not if you want to be a professional athlete and your past. Probably 20 or 30. Okay, it probably is. And that's okay that comes with accepting your limitations, However, for anything you want to do with your mind or your creative skills. If you are realizing now, what you need is love and experience. You have everything you need. You're in the perfect position to do whatever you want to look at me. I went through and did all these jobs, did a ton of things I didn't like in my adult life. And then when I started my business online and I started learning in just a few years, all that I've built online is a bit absurd. All of the videos off the Blawg posts, all of the students, all of the audience and people following me. It's ridiculous. And I've built that out of love and then experience and then a continuous loop. I do it more because I love it. I get more experience because I love it. I love it because I have experience in it all. Build on itself. You are here watching this with me right now. I've given you the place. You can look in yourself to find anything you want to build talents and abilities and skills that you've got it. All you have to do is find those things in your life you love doing and do them more, and you might find some of the things you think you love doing. You don't like doing that much, and that's okay. If you just try and attract yourself to the places you love and build experience, you can have absolute world class talents in anything that you have the ability to love and enjoy experiencing consistently. That is great news, because wherever you're at in the world, regardless of any of your external surroundings, the only things you need inside our love for doing a specific activity and that love does not care about what the rewards are, it doesn't care about how much it pays or how much you get out of it or how good your reputation becomes. The love is just there, and when you do that with love like you see me, I'm doing these videos out of love. I love doing these videos. You can feel that it's because I love just talking with people I love Sharing My nickname was gums, cause I flap my gums a lot when I was younger. That is what I love. I love talking. I love sharing. And the more I've done it, the more I keep doing it. And this is a way that I've found that's good to do it right now and later in my life, it may come out different. Earlier in my life, it came out different. When I love to do something, I will keep doing it. I will gravitate towards it. You can see have obviously talked a lot in my life, so talking for me is really easy. By contrast, I don't enjoy writing as much, and that's okay. When you match what you love to do with doing it, you will find different ways to do it, and you will be attracted towards the most useful and valuable ways to do it. So for me, this is the most useful, invaluable way I've found to talk right now, and I've been attracted towards it. I've been almost magnetically pulled into doing this because you you enjoy it and you are likely to tell me that I should keep doing more of it, and that's how I keep doing more of it, and then it builds. My love and experience just builds. And so people are liable to say, Jerry, you're so successful. You've got all these talents and abilities and skills. You've got all this and it's easy for someone else to look at me and say, Well, he was just born with this ability to speak. He just was born with this ability to do business online. He just was born with things. When the truth is, my love and experience is what has built all of this. My love and experience is why I'm here right now with you. It has nothing to do with anything I was born with or anything I was just granted, although I believe the universe builds itself just how it's supposed to. So let me not try and take all the credit or any of the credit, all the love that's created all of the universe, the love that made me here into a human being, the love that is all existence, that love is where talents, abilities and skills come from. You can try and build them another way, and it's really, really hard if you build them through love and through experience, you will find you can build any talent, skills and abilities around anything you love doing. So I hope this frees you from all of the negative things you've thought about yourself and gives you the ability to tap into your biggest skills, abilities and talents. Because the world needs your abilities. The world needs your skills. The world needs your talents. Humanity were using but a fraction of our abilities. And we need you specifically to discover the love you have for what you like to do. We need you to figure out exactly what talents, abilities and skills you can give best to the world. So I am grateful to be a part of you unlocking love you have for accomplishing and doing whatever you're supposed to right now. So thank you for watching this. And I hope this has been useful 32. Trust and verify what anyone else says works, including what I say.: How many times have you heard something and been sure it was right, including anything in this course You've heard it and said Yes, that's definitely right. That's it, I got it. I know that's happened to me lots of times, and my general policy with things is trust and verify. So if I hear something, what I want to do is try it out myself and ideally, tried out with an open mind. Then I can see if it works for myself. For example, one of the things it's been a miracle for me to discover is a power of prayer. I heard a lot of other people saying that prayer works, so when I was able to start trusting enough to say Okay, I'll try it. If you say it works and you say it works and you say it works and you say it works, I'll try it at least, and it turns out it works really good. It works really good. That's a big difference from the attitude of looking at what someone has said and thinking , Oh, you're wrong about that. You don't know that's crap. I don't believe that. So there's that attitude and then there's also the old. That's definitely right. I know you're right. I'm gonna go around and tell everybody what you said. I haven't actually done it, though, So those are two very common attitude you'll see, and both of those are very destructive and limiting when it comes to your learning. So the attitude for me that works best and like has said trust and verify. You contest this out for yourself if you're used to using a different one if you have contempt prior to investigation. So in other words, if I'm saying this and you just think, Oh, that's crap and you're not even willing to try it, then you almost can learn nothing in that mind state. I've been in that mind state a lot in my life. I learned almost nothing, most all the time. I was in that mind state. I heard good things. I heard good ideas all the time. I refused to try them because that's not going to work. Why would I try it? The other mind State of I heard this and is definitely right, so I don't even need to try it. That is also extremely limiting. I get a lot of people that come to me online saying, Oh, Jerry, I know this works really good, and I'm going to prove it. Well, how do you know it works? Well, someone told me I've seen it all over. You don't know anything works until it works for you. So even this you don't know this works until it works for you. The only way to know if things work for use to try them. So the attitude that works is trust to start. Okay. I'll take your word for it. Enough that I will. I will trust you enough to do it myself. So, for example, on Facebook, I have a Facebook, as course. People often tell me that. Oh, these things work really good, like. Okay. Well, how do you know they work? Well, it everyone's everyone's doing it. Everyone says it works. Well, what if I say it didn't work for me? Well, you must not have been doing it right. What you never want to do is be convinced that, you know, with no data and the best data is first hand data. So, for example, I suffered a lot in this area with dating I often would think things were right and then go try and tell people to do them after having never done that myself. And then I would try and do them myself like pickup lines. Bad idea, then they wouldn't work. And I would think, Well, that was stupid And I would do that with my business. I'd see these things like email marketing with male champion opt in and squeeze pages. Everyone's doing it. It's gotta work doesn't work for me. Oh, sure, I got email addresses. But what the time and energy I put into it and the result I got out of it, it was awful. It was a total waste in my time, except from the learning point of view. So when you trust and verify so I don't use the word but here because I think, but adds the lack of trust into it. So trust and verify. So when you see something, you take a look at it and say, OK, that's probably true. I will give it a shot, and if what happens for you differs from what is supposed to happen, then you can start asking more questions and it's really easy to pick up new skills and life of you trust and verify. And I've been able to pick up a ton of new skills, especially in the health taking care of myself, especially in spirituality. I've picked up all kinds off these new skills by trusting and verifying. So I say, Okay, what you said is probably true. I will give it a try, even things like getting a massage. I'd heard people before say, It's so nice to relax, So at some point I trusted enough to try it. You have to trust first and then have the faith to try it. You've got to do both of those together. If you want to maximize your learning and you can try this right now, you can trust what I'm saying and you can go verify it. Go verify that you can find something that's useful and try it yourself and then see that it works. So I hope this has been helpful for you and seeing two of the most common attitudes that hurt learning of the not trusting anyone. So I'm not going to listen to anyone at all and the over trusting where you trust so much you don't even verify what you heard. So thank you for sharing this with being. I hope this has been useful. 33. Accepting your limitations will free you from feeling like a fraud.: How often have you been afraid that people would get to know the rial you and find out what a fraud you are or find out you've been faking the whole time, you didn't really know anything or find out that you really aren't who you say you are accepting your limitations, especially as it comes toe learning. Even though I'm telling you in this course you have unlimited learning potential when it comes down to the practical application of it. You on. Lee can do a little bit every day. Accepting your limitations will help you overcome the fears that often inhibit learning. It will help you not be afraid of being a fraud. It will help you not be afraid off people judging you based on what you don't know. And the reason that works is because when you accept your limitations, you except you can't be good at everything. So looking at this, if you can see there are 113 skill points on both sides of this, so either way, you're going tohave strengths and weaknesses. If you go specialized, you're going tohave areas where you have a lot of deep knowledge and you're going to have areas where you know nothing. If you go general, you're going tohave areas where you have pretty good knowledge. But always many people no more. And you will have a lot of areas where you do at least know things. But you don't know nothing at all. And most importantly, you have an idea of what you don't know. So if you want to learn more, you can learn more. If you accept that, you only get those 113 skill points, then you don't have to be afraid of people judging you based on how you distributed them. So if you accept your limitations and someone comes up to you and makes fun of your lack of finance ability, you can be okay with that because you chose that you chose not to put your time and energy into learning finance. And then you don't have to be afraid off feeling like a fraud because then you know everyone has the same thing in their life. You can know that everyone's got a limited amount of time and energy, especially me, that you have the same access to. And the only difference is how it gets distributed, so that removes that fear of being a fraud. The fear of being a fraud especially comes in when you're living in this dream world where you're really grated everything and you're hoping no one finds out about all these things you don't know about. If you accept all these things you don't know about, you accept your limitations. You only have a very limited amount of time every day. Toe actually do anything that's helped me a lot to accept my limitations. I can't be everywhere. I can't do everything. In fact, I can do very little, and I can usually only be in one place That helps me to know what to say no to and what to say yes to. It helps me to figure out exactly what I should do with the limited 113 skill points I have again. This is a simpler way of putting it. Then the reality. I guess you could say that it's a helpful way of putting it when I understand I've only got those skill points toe work with. Then I just assign them. However I think is best. I put my learning into exactly what I want to learn, and then I accept that if someone doesn't like it, then that's OK because everyone has their own skill sets. And who am I to judge someone else's skill set? And who is anyone else? To judge my skill set? We all have the potential to be equally useful to make great contributions to the world. So when you accept your limitations and except that you can only do so much, especially when it comes to learning in all aspects of life, then you don't have to go around with this fear all the time that someone's going to discovery or no good at something, because the more honest you get to know yourself, you will find there's a lot of things you're not good at, and that's okay. There's a lot of things I'm not good at. I try and do most what I am best at, and I try and learn and experience a little bit of everything, so that then I have well rounded knowledge. Now that doesn't mean I want to go down to, ah, bad part of town on experience, getting robbed and beaten and cheated and hurt. But you get the idea, you get the idea that I try and experience a little bit of life all over and do most of my time and energy on the things that people want me to do, the things that I'm best at, these areas of nines. Then I put a lot of time and energy into those. At the same time, I put some time and energy into keeping these threes up also. So, however your skills are distributed, it's OK, and as long as you can understand that, then you don't have to go around all these fears because fears are paralyzing when it comes to learning. So here's how that works. If you're so afraid of people finding out, you don't know anything about finances. What you often do is never mention it or your overcompensate and try and act like you know him. Both of those will greatly inhibit your learning. If you can honestly admit that you don't know anything, then you'll often be inspired to try and learn more about what you don't know. So the worst thing you can do is try and go around and act like your life is all tens because the rial person suffering from that is you. If you don't know where you're weak, how can you improve those areas? And like I showed about multiplication, it tends to be more important to improve the areas your week on a little bit. Not a lot, but a little bit than it is to go really deep into being good at things. But most of us like to go deep into being good at things and then try and live in this fantasy world where we don't know anything even often about what we don't know. And then the fear of being a fraud is a big one. Because deep down, you know you're being a fraud. Deep down, you know, you're acting like you know everything when you don't even know what you don't know. So if you accept your limitations, then you can be free from those paralyzing learning fears that will inhibit you from being able to reach your full learning potential. So thank you for sharing this with me. And I hope this look at how to get through your fears and accepting your limitations is helpful 34. Figure out when you are wrong as soon as possible.: one of the longest, most deep, comprehensive mistakes you can make is not being willing to admit you're wrong again with everything. This has been a great one. I've made grandly myself throughout my whole life. I didn't ever want to admit I was wrong, because is a man that would make me look weak. That would make me look unprofessional in my work environment, and that would make me a failure, and I dreadfully was afraid of being a failure. Until then, I felt like such a failure that I was willing to admit what I was doing wrong and start figuring out how to live a better life. You don't have to go that far into being wrong in being in a place where you've been so wrong and unwilling to admit it. Your whole life's falling apart for your learning. If you Kansteiner with little wrongs all the time, if you can admit the little wrongs across what you're doing, then it's really easy to learn. So for me, for example, when I'm making a Facebook ads campaign and after $2030 it doesn't have a conversion yet. I look at that is a little wrong whoops that targeting that ad combination didn't work. OK, done. And then I don't have to spend more money on that exact ad. I can try something new and try something new and try something new. I can try again, but I am willing to admit I'm wrong early. So if you're willing to admit you're wrong early on things, then you can save a fantastic amount of misery and you can skip straight to the learning. I was surprised to learn that the main thing that separates good investors from nearly all other investors is a willingness to admit when they're wrong early. So for me again, another mistake. I speculated on Bitcoin and I made the mistake consistently of not admitting I was wrong. And even if I wouldn't mean I was wrong, I try and turn it around. Okay, well, I'll do this. I'll buy more and then I'll be right. I wouldn't admit when I was wrong when it was obvious I waas So my theory at $500 a Bitcoin was Oh, look, it went down a lot. It'll go back up at $400 a bit kind, I thought, Oh, look, it's went down a lot. It'll go back up at $300 a Bitcoin. Oh, look, it's way down. It's going to go back up, and the price now is at 2 50 So, as you can see, the only places I was able to come out ahead is when I was willing to admit I was wrong and say, OK, I've been wrong about this. Let me get rid of this Bitcoin. I don't have any Bitcoin today. Maybe I've got a dollar or something that I can't sell in full disclosure, I am not holding hundreds and thousands of dollars a Bitcoin anymore. I made a painful mistake. It cost me several $1000 messing around with Bitcoin because I thought I was right. So if you can see when you are doing that, it can really help your learning because it's easy to see what I've just explained to you where I was wrong. Where it's a lot harder to see is where you are doing that, and it's easy for me to see where you were doing that. If you tell me what you're doing, I'm sure I can point out a bunch of things you might be doing wrong. The only person that matters is for you to see your wrongs. So for me, I had a lot of problems throughout my life and people were often very helpful in trying to point and say, Look, you're doing this wrong, you're doing this wrong and I didn't want to listen. I didn't want to admit it, so I kept doing it wrong until finally I was willing to listen to it and admit it. Good investors see when they're wrong and they withdraw from the market at that point, they sell at that point. So when it starts to go up, or even when it's just low, they'll buy when it goes up, then they sell a little bit or hold on to it when it starts to drop. Then they sell what most people do. They'll buy when it down the way up. And then when it plateaus to say, Well, maybe it'll go higher, it starts to go down. Well, no, I got to get my money back now. I'm not gonna make any money, and it goes down and down. Well, now I might. I'm at a loss. I've got to buy Mawr. I've gotta buy more or I'll be wrong. That's what I did. And so that being wrong and admitting it will help you get into the learning failure to admit you are wrong is one of the worst wrongs you can have, because no one can clearly convince you you're wrong without you allowing them to. One of the things Edison said about making the light bulb was that he didn't find a way to make a light bulb. He found 1000 ways not to make a light bulb. I feel like that's what's happened. My business. I haven't found a way to do business online. I've found 1000 ways not to do business online, and that has got me to a place where I'm here with you and I'm doing something that works good for me and that is likely to be working good for you. And I've done that by messing it up a lot of times. So when you're willing to admit you're wrong, you can get into the learning you convey. I've deep into the learning opportunities that are there for you in your life. When you won't admit you're wrong, it's hard to see where you could do better because there's an area you're selectively choosing to be blind to. So when you're being wrong in the area, there's huge learning there and you're selectively saying I'm not wrong. I'm not wrong and you're then blind to all the learning that's their dating. That was another good one I can date. I got this. I know how to date. Ah, lot of wrong there. A lot of pain until I said Okay, I made such a grand mistake that I could say, OK, what do I need to know about dating? Then I learned more about dating than I got better at it. Then, even when things didn't go well, it usually wasn't as bad. And then I met my wife, so I made new mistakes. But at least I was willing to admit them. For the first time, I actually broke up with a girl that was my girlfriend. Without having to be such a total jerk as in just be a horrible person, I could actually say Okay, made a mistake. Let's break up. I don't have to make you hate me so that you'll dump me. I'll just do this before we get to that point when you can see when you're doing wrong. When you're making mistakes, then you can uncover the learning. So think of your life like that is filled with all these places. You're doing things right. And then these few or maybe many place you're doing things wrong as if they're stickers. And if you can rip off those wrong stickers by owning them by saying Okay, yep, I'm I did that wrong. I'm doing that wrong. Then the learning is right behind that sticker. So if you go through, that's what I always try and do whenever I notice wrong hope. Yep, I'm doing that wrong. I'm doing that wrong. Okay, What what's the learning? Where is the learning at? You can see how peaceful a place that is, where I expect to make mistakes. I expect to do things wrong, and I expect them to notice those mistakes and then learn from them. So I hope that's what I've shared with you. And thank you for spending this time with me today. 35. Everything you are doing in your life impacts your learning.: how many people, including maybe yourself, have you known that live their life in little compartments, So they act a certain way with their work friends or their colleagues. They act a certain way home of their family. They act a certain way with their boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, husband. They act a certain way when they're out in public. Act a certain way when they're online. And it's hard to figure out where the real person is because they act so many different ways. Think about your learning like that. If you look at you, learn a certain way in a classroom, and then you learn a certain way at home with your family, which often might be not at all. And then you learn a certain way without out your friends, which might be a lot. You might learn a lot from hanging out with your friends, and then you learn a certain way when you're online. You're learning when it's compartmentalized, does not function well because then you get into this mindset of that you Onley learn at certain times, and then you're closing out most of the learning in your life with me. I did that of course, I feel like there's not a mistake I haven't made for various things, like in this course I would look at OK when I'm in the classroom than I'm learning when I'm in school that I'm learning. And I had years where I hardly learned much of anything at least consciously, that I was aware of, because I didn't feel like I was in a place where I was learning. And my brain often my whole being often decayed a lot because I wasn't in a place where I was learning. Once I learned a new job, then I would go into the state of decay. Why wouldn't get much better at the job? And I wouldn't get much better at anything in my life. So all of the learning in your life is unified. You want to and not have any compartments in your life or any falsehoods in your life for your learning. So, in other words, if you're playing a role somewhere and you're so stuck in that role, you can't learn anything in that role that applies to the rest of your life. That's devastating for your learning, and what I'm learning applies at any time across my life. Unified learning means that I can learn in any moment. And so that means everything I do in my life relates to my learning. There's nothing Aiken do that's isolated outside of my learning. So if you're hurting yourself, like for a lot of my life, I went around abusing myself, hurting myself mostly with alcohol, but with all kinds of other bad habits, like gambling and over video gaming. I started my business because I thought I had a video game addiction. I thought that I couldn't stop playing video games while the problem was, I couldn't stop doing anything. There was almost nothing I could stop doing and the more I liked doing, and I certainly couldn't stop doing it, and that made it really hard to learn. How are you supposed to learn when you can't even control your own behaviors when you can't manage your deciders at all? Once you're learning in one area, you can expand it to other areas. But if you think every area of your life is separate and different and what you're learning about, say how to be a better online marketing guy doesn't apply toe what you're learning about how to manage and control your own behaviors, then you're missing the biggest part of the learning, which is the connection between all things. The connection between all things is where the power of the learning I'm unlocking here with you is. And I had to unlock this the hard way myself because I looked at it. I was willing to learn. When I sat in a classroom, I was willing to learn how to play a video game better, but I was unwilling to learn how I could go about and have a happy life without playing 2030 40 50 hours of video games a week or drinking, getting wasted, doing stupid things several days a week or without taking trips to the casino. I'm burning up, Ah, bunch of money. Occasionally I want some and without going around in my life, feeling like I already knew everything and was better than everyone. So most of my life I was unwilling to learn in most areas, and especially the ones that impacted happiness and health. If you're not willing to learn things about your happiness and your health, why would you be willing to learn things that don't matter as much when I have my business online and I was playing a bunch of video games and or drinking and or going around like I knew everything. It was a lot harder to learn. And once I've been able to do better in my personal life, I've been able to rapidly speed up my learning in what I'm doing online. So if you have an area of your life, you are hurting yourself. And that often will come with a victim mentality like my drinking would come on the victim mentality. Oh, I'm drinking because this person was such a jerk or I'm drinking because my dad's dying, which is crap because I drank one. My dad was healthy, too, and you can do that in any different ways. So I'm taking these pills today because my mother was mean to me or I'm gambling today because I just wanna have fun and forget about all my problems. You can see these problems come out in a whole different kinds of ways. I'm hoping I can find that someone new toe have sexual relations with because then I can forget about escape my problems well I'm hoping if I work 60 70 hours this week, then I will feel good about myself work. When I was sober for a few months before I started trying to learn how to live my whole life better. That's what I did. I went into overwork. I would come home really late, overworking over exercise. I started my company while I was in graduate school and had an assistant ship, so I had a 30 40 hour week school commitment. And then I started my company and then was exercising a bunch. And often I would not see my wife very much during the week except on the weekends. In fact, it was almost worse than when I used to. Just have a few drinking benders a week, and then I wouldn't see her while I was drinking. At least would be nice to her. When I had a hangover. When I was overworking, I actually was often a worse boyfriend and then fiance. Then when I was drinking now I was much worse to myself, especially, and the times drinking hurt. The thing is, bad behaviors come in all different forms, and it may come for you in an abusive relationship where you are with someone who's abusing you are not treating you very good, and then you are the victim. And that victim mentality allows you to blame everything bad in your life on them. I don't know your exact situation. I do know almost everyone has a very specific area of life that is on isolated area where no learning is happening and those areas tend to be black holes and black holes suck everything in. They will not let any of the light escape. So wherever your black hole is, that sucks. All of your learning in one of the most powerful things you can do to open up your learning is to eliminate that black hole. Rather, that's a bad relationship. Ah, bad school year in Rather, it's family. Rather, it's something you're doing for yourself, which I would argue, it's almost always something you're doing yourself. The victim mentality, which I've had a lot, often takes out the part of the equation where you are doing something that's putting you in that situation. So for me, I would put myself in all these situations and then blame everyone else. Well, now I don't have to put myself in those situations. So you're learning in your life is all related. And when you have a black hole area, an area of pure negativity, where things are always bad and that seems often it may be like a fantasy. So when I say always bad, I say having a fantasy were Euphoria is in. There is also a bad thing, like my drinking was like that. It wasn't always bad on the surface. But what I do is I go up and down in that euphoria was a big lie, and then the down would seem really riel. So eliminating those bad areas of your life And for a lot of guys my age, it's video games. They'll be playing 2030 40 50 60 hours a week of video games. And it's not just the game itself, but it's the overindulgence, that overpowering influence, where the main thing you think about is that negative thing in your life. So in other words, when you're sitting there learning like you're taking this course, you're thinking man, I wish I was in Vegas right now, gambling. I had that thought a lot in graduate school. I would sit there and think, I wish I was at Caesar's Palace right now, which is funny because Caesars Palace, in the three times I went to Vegas, was the last casino I'd go to and then the trip would be over. Either I'd be out of money or I'd have to leave. Thankfully, last time I had to leave and I still had money. So that's the thing. You've got to find these black hole areas in your life because nothing is separate from your learning. Your learning occurs across every single little thing you do. And if you have these black hole areas where you are unwilling to learn anything for me drinking video games and over work, all of those negative things, whatever it waas or even putting myself on a bad relationship, whatever it waas, those black hole areas messed my whole learning up. So if you want to unlock your true potential, if you want to really unlock your learning, you've got to find those bad areas. Be able to admit you're wrong in them and do something about it. Learn those black hole areas of the best areas toe learn from There's a singularity in that black hole that's got a universe of information in it. And that's what happened to me when I finally dove into the black hole, which I will call my insanity because, to be honest, I didn't as much have a drinking problem as messed up thinking. When you've had a lot of bad experiences, be it drinking, Ah, relationship, pain management, whatever. You've had a lot of bad experiences for the moment, you make a decision sober to go back into that. That's the insanity, the moment you have m ah, realization. The moment you say you're in a violent relationship, the moment you decide to go back with that person, that's the insanity. Or if you are in a awful environment somewhere and you've got out the moment you decide to go back in there before you're ready to serve, and not just to be a victim in it. That's insanity. So however, that happens for me. My black hole was insanity, simple, pure craziness. And when I dove into that, I've unlocked the unbelievable learning, so you might have to go into your black hole, which probably will be in the form of insanity in one form or another, and you can call it whatever you want. It manifests and you doing something you regret. So in other words, that could be if it's sexual, who you get this overwhelming craving, you act on it, you make a bad decision, and then the next day you're remorseful. That's insanity. That's craziness. That's whatever you want to call it. That's a black hole of learning. It sucks everything in. So I hope this has been very honest and forthcoming with you in terms of where you can get into unlocking your deep learning potential. And often these things will be hard, and I recommend a support group. I have a great support group myself. That's five minutes where I go every day. A support group can help with this, so you've got to get into those problem areas of your life and learn in them. Then you can really see what you're capable of learning in all of your life. So thank you. And I hope this has been helpful 36. What have you always wanted to learn? YOLO! Get started on it now!: What have you always wanted to learn? You only live once, so now is the time to get started with it. If you've wanted to learn a language, a new skill, The main reason you probably haven't tried it yet is because of fear. And you only have now, so there's nothing to be afraid of. If you can face your fear honestly, you can likely overcome it and get started learning whatever you want to. So, for example, have you been wanting to learn a foreign language? You're probably afraid that you won't be able to do it. What you can do is just break it down into a very small segment. Can you learn one new word or one new phrase from a foreign language today? I'm sure you can do that. If you can do one, maybe conduce two or three. If you do a little bit every day, you'll be amazed at what you can do over a year, and you've got this power. Now you're unlocking this inner power, so you want to try it on something, maybe trying on something new or apply it to what you've already been learning. So, for example, one of the easiest ways to do it is to just try and do something new for five minutes. Try learning a new language for five minutes, even if that just means you Google some basic phrases online. There's a ton of great APS out there you can download to learn new skills. There's lots of great you Timmy courses that you can use to try and learn a new skill. I tried a little bit of learning coding and you know what I realized? Maybe now is not the right time for me to learn coding. I can always go through and learn coding again later if I want to. I took a UNA me course. I spent a few hours in it and I realized, you know what? Maybe I didn't wanna learn this so much, and that's valuable, because if you've been thinking, oh man, I want to learn this foreign language and then you try and start learning it and you realize, OK, maybe I don't want to do this after all. Then that's OK. Then you've crossed that off your bucket list. At least then you don't have to go around all the time saying, Oh, I wish I'd tried to learn this, but I never did. You can say you know what? I tried learning Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean. I tried learning it, and I realized I didn't really want to learn it right then And so maybe I'll learn more of it later. Maybe I won't. You can see how much better that is. And in five or 10 minutes you can discover whether you really want to learn something or not. So I hope at this point, with all that we've talked about with learning, I hope you are getting inspired to at least go try learning something new, even if it's learning more about how to learn. Just try something 5 10 minutes. You can do that right. There's nothing to be afraid of in there. Try five or 10 minutes of something you've been meaning to learn that you've been putting off and then tell me in the discussions how it went. Most importantly, analyze hot wet yourself and then the next day do you want to do it again? That's the real mark of Rather you're going to love learning. Something is, Do you want to do it again? So I hope I'm inspiring you to try something new and to do now what you've been meaning to do forever and see if you really have wanted to do it. 37. The difference between thinking you want to learn and really wanting to.: How many times have you done something in life that you had so much excitement for beforehand and then you actually did it and you were kind of surprised at the let down as if Whoops, this wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. This isn't as great as I thought it would be with learning something you want to cross off Aziz. Many of those things is possible, and you want to find out which ones are really as soon as possible. So, for example, if you've been wanting to learn a foreign language something, people often say they want to learn that they never do. It's important to see if that's really a true thing. You want to learn, and all you have to do is spend a little bit of time starting toe. Learn about it any skill like for me. I wanted to learn coding, and then I started putting a little effort into and realized you know what Now I don't want to learn coding, but what I do want to do is partner with someone else who knows how to code and make a course with them. It's important to always get to the truth about what you want to learn. So all you have to do to get to the truth is just try it and see if you keep doing it. If you love doing something, you will do it every day. If you don't love doing something, you will not do it every day by your own accord. So all you have to do spend five or 10 minutes 20 minutes trying to learn something, and then plan that in your daily schedule. You'll very quickly call any bluffs on things you thought you wanted to learn. And that is a real opportunity, because when you clear out those things you thought you wanted to learn, you really didn't. Then you can start finding the next set of things you think you want to learn, and some of those might be right. Often the things I've thought I wanted to learn. I wanted to learn for the wrong reasons. I wanted to learn them as a means to an end who, if I know this skill, then I'd make a lot of money. Then, when I make a lot of money on lay around all day and play video games all day, so you can see that's the wrong motivation to learn a skill. And there's lots of things that we've thought we wanted to learn out of the wrong motivation. For example, foreign language. Oh, I want to learn this foreign language. Then I'll look really sophisticated. Then everyone will be really impressed with me. Then I'll feel good about myself. Do you actually go and try and learn and you realize, Oh, no. Maybe I don't want to do this. So that is exactly what you want to cross off. You want to find all those false areas where you think you want to learn something, and the only way to tell whether it's a false thing is rather you will keep doing it and not keep doing it out of forcing yourself to do it. But rather you'll find yourself wanting to do it. So like you to me, I'm drawn to you. To me. I keep doing you to me. I keep investing more time than I keep learning. I continue to go deeper. That's an area I really want to learn in teaching online in area I really want to learn in Facebook ads was something I got into to learn, and rather, I really wanted to learn in that area or not is questionable. I did it as a means to an end, and I'm good at it, and I'm thankful to have the skills at the same time. I without having to do it every day. Now I find I don't end up doing it every day, so you'll find a lot of the things you have learned are often things you've learned for a means to an end. And when you start discovering your full potential, learn, you might grill has you've learned a lot of things that you didn't even learn of your own accord? You just wanted to use them as a means to an end. The good news is, most of those things you've learned can translate directly into something you will do out of your own love and joy every day, so there's no substitute for trying. You can't planet. You can't try and speculate on it. The only thing you can do is just try and do it. There's no substitute, and I hope I have said that a lot in this course, there's no substitute for actually doing something. So get out there, actually do something, and then when you want to learn more about how those things are going, then keep going with this course. 38. If you want to be world class, you just need to spend 10,000 hours doing it!: do you want to be world class at something? All you need is about 10,000 hours in that subject, and you can be world class and almost anything you do now. Of course, this is a rough estimate. The thing is, this is proof among so many people that have already done it, that the learning happens just the way I share with you in this course. If you spend 10,000 hours doing something, you will be absolutely world class at what you're doing now. There are lots of world class people in all walks of life. When I said about driving, there are lots of world class, very good drivers out there. And here's why. If you spend 10,000 hours and you divide that by 365 so you drive an hour a day, so no need to divide by one. In about 27 years of driving an hour a day, you can be a world class expert at driving. In other words, there's very few things that are likely to come up assuming you've driven in different environments and you've tried to push your learning at a bare minimum. There's very few things that will come up in the environment you drive in that you haven't already seen before and already reacted to. Let's put it in some other terms here will clear this out. So let's say you want to be a world class expert in a new programming language or something like that that comes out. You don't want to take 27 years, so you have 10,000 hours and you're willing to do 40 hours a week toe. Learn that language. What you need is 250 weeks. So you divide that by 52. Then you can become world class expert in five years in that language, and then that allows you to do it a lot faster. Now, of course, if you really want to be exceptional at something and you want to do it faster than five years, you obviously can see you need to put more time in. So 10,000 hours, probably about the maximum you could do in about anything will be 80 hours a week you're looking at in a couple of years, 2.5 years you could be world class at something. Now you can see that requires love, because if you're going to do something 80 hours a week, let's divide this up 80 hours, divided by seven days. You need to do it 11.5 hours a day. You better love to do something if you're going to do it 11.5 hours a day, but you don't have to build all of that 10,000 hours from zero. So if you've already spent a lot of time learning, you've already spent a lot of time in the classroom as I have. You might already have around 7000 hours of credit, so to speak. So it's important when you get to know yourself to figure out OK, where do I already have skills that I could start from 2000 hours on 3000 hours on 5000 hours on Where do you already have skills that you can start from and then build them in a specific direction? So for me, I've probably averaged at least probably 15. If not, let's do 20 hours of video gaming per week since about 16 years old, and I'm 30 now, so times 52 then times 14 so I've probably got about 14 ish 1000 hours of video gaming. Now that's more of a generic skill, though, So when it comes to a particular video game, I don't have 10,000 hours in probably anyone. Video game now. I did play one video game for a lot of time, and I was one of the best in the world at it because I sat there for a whole summer, played it 50 hours a week for about 10 weeks. So I had 500 hours in that game before. Most people probably had 50 and that gave me the ability to play a lot better than other people. So I hope when I'm sharing in these numbers is that these are big numbers, of course, But if you're willing to do a little bit of work every day, you can get close to it. What I do now with you, to me, I probably spend about five hours a day doing you to me related things seven days a week, so that's 35 hours a week. Times 52. I'm adding about 1800 hours of you Timmy learning every year. That will give me the ability in about five or six years. I will then have 10,000 hours on you to me, so you can see I'm not doing a short term plan here. But what I'm looking to do is do something I love. I love teaching on you to me, continue to build the skills in it and then have patience. I'm not looking to be successful overnight. When I'm looking to do is 35 hours a week times 52 weeks a year, 1800 hours a year. In that rate, I will very quickly be the person in the world who has spent the most time teaching on the you know, me. So that gives me a very exclusive opportunity. Because then the sheer amount of things I know is just not even at a conscious level. And it allows me to get into exceptional areas of opportunity. So if you find a skill you love to do, it'll take some work. But once you can get it into something you love to do, then you can start your 10,000 hours math. Then you can get an idea off what you need to do every day, and then you can be realistic. You can say you know what I probably willing to do about five hours a day if you it's playing a musical instrument. If it's doing something online, if it's playing a certain video game, if it's trying to be a better husband or wife, or if it's trying to teach a certain class or learn a subject. If you're willing to spend five hours a day doing it, then you can calculate. Okay, how long is it going to take me to be proficient? 500 to 1000 hours will give you a good proficiency in something. So if you're learning a foreign language, you could do OK. I want to do I want proficiency. So 1000 hours learning a foreign language. You're probably going to be pretty good at it. You can learn a four language pretty well in under a year if you're willing to spend five hours a day at it, if you're willing to go through and honestly, look at your hours and I recommend doing this after you found something you love to do and you're willing to do it every day if you're willing to go through and look at the hours it takes tow, learn something and find a number 45 hours a day is probably a good number that you're willing to do every day. Then you can see. Okay, how far do I have to go between Why I'm now and why I'm a world class expert And that's how you can get to a point where you can see the small amount of work you do every day adds into a gigantic picture. So I'm grateful you've spent this time with me. I hope this has been inspirational. If you'll take a look, I would also combine it with something like a little spreadsheet like this. These are the number of U two me lectures I've done. And yes, I have days where I travel that I didn't do anything. And I also have days. I invest a lot more effort in. So having some kind of accountability like this built in your learning will help you make sure and keep track of what you're doing, because it won't seem like you're doing much. But if you do this with learning a foreign language or something similar, you'll be shocked at how much progress you make in, what a short time. So track your progress and calculate your hours, and you can get an idea of how long and how much work. It will take you to be really good at something. And in doing that, you can be sure of rather you love it or not, because you won't do it. If you don't love it, and if you love it and you do it, you will get world class learning. What can you do to be of greatest service to others?: What I try and do to guide my own learning is ask What can I do to be of greatest service to you and to all of the people in the world? And this helps me to direct my learning and to share it in a way that people use it. What has helped me be successful is I started with that, of course. And then I've made the transition toe. What can I do to serve you best? How can I help you? So if you look on my website, I post all of these things I learned on their for free. I share all kinds of articles on my website for free. I do the same thing on my YouTube channel. I've got tons of YouTube videos and that's how I've gotten so many subscribers and over two million views is because I try and share all of what I've learned for free and then even my you to me courses. I've been able to be successful on you to me by letting tens of thousands of students take my courses for free, especially when I first was getting started. So I try and ask What can I do to be of best service to others? What can I learn to be a best service to others? What is it that I already know that people will really appreciate? What is it I should learn so I can serve the world that's helped me combine my passions and my learning into these really valuable skills that I can then teach on you to me and then I can put small portions of the course is up for free on my website and then on my YouTube channel so that everything I learnt is of service to the world. So I'm not just learning for myself. I'm learning for you. I'm learning skills that then I can teach you. And so that helps me to match up my learning my passion and then the ability to make money with my learning also. Now I'm grateful that any time I go toe learn something, there is very good chance that there's monetization potential off that I can usually make money with what I've learned, because I've learned all of these things and shared them for free so much on my website and on my YouTube channel that people find me all the time and then are interested in buying my una me courses. And if you've bought my una me course, I'm honored. You've done that. You give me the ability tomb, keep learning and to keep sharing these things. And I have done all that through the positive reinforcement loop. When I put up all of these things for free and shared where I'm known, I got really good feedback, especially on a YouTube. Just give things out totally for free on your website in your YouTube channel and then get into that positive reinforcement learning loop where you're learning something and people are excited with what you're learning, and then they want you to do more of it. And then when you've done enough of that, you might be in a position to be able to use something like you to me to teach what you're learning, and then that way you further enable your own learning to continue happening. So I'm honored you're here as a part of this with me. I wouldn't be here if I hadn't got so much positive feedback about the free things I gave out to be of service to others. If I hadn't made the transition to thinking in terms of how can I serve others with my learning, then I would have never got to the point where I would be teaching you this. Now if I just sat around thinking, What can I learn to make a profit? What could I learn from my own benefit? I would still probably be at a job trying to get through all the frustrations that come with working at an organization where most of what you have to do and learns dictated. So thank you for watching this, and I hope it's been useful. 40. For every minute I spend learning from others, I spend 10 minutes doing.: inspirational courses and books are really useful. Things like this course, and all of the books and courses I've taken have helped me to rapidly increase my learning in all kinds of subjects. With that said, for every one minute I spend doing something like taking course like this on your end or listening to a book on Audible about something I wanna learn or taking a you to me course on it for every one minute like that I spend I spend about 10 minutes actually doing something Now when I'm newer to something when I'm first starting out. Like when I first started my business, I spent a lot more time using existing. Resource is I spent a lot more time listening to books. Maybe for every one minute I did something I spent one minute listening or reading or using a course. The point is now I consistently spend most all of my time doing things, the 80 20 principles and clear effect here I get the biggest results out of doing things, so I spend the most time doing that. However, in that one 10th of the time I spend doing a learning, it tends to help me solve a lot of the most annoying problems I have. So when I hit frustrations that I'm having a hard time figuring out myself, I go to other Resource is right away because usually you will have blind spots that you just have a little bit of our time solving things like Maybe this course can help you open up things that have helped me like inspirational books and courses I've taken have helped me hit some of the areas I didn't notice, especially they've helped me learn what I didn't know. I didn't know, and that's very valuable. So for every minute I spend in a course I spend a lot of time doing, so it's important to get that you've got to do doing is the main thing with it. It's not about how much time you spend taking courses. How many books you read, you've got to actually do something. I've noticed consistently how much time people spend talking about things, and then how little they actually do. Not all people, not all the time, not all places and I've noticed a tendency with the majority of people I see is to talk about things with me. I don't like toe. Hardly talk it all. I just want to get in and start doing it. So, for example, when people ask, Do you want to make a course together? I'll say, Sure, I'll invite you to, Of course, start making it all right. Well, I want to have a Skype call. I want to talk about it. We don't need to talk, just do something. But people are afraid of doing things wrong, and I know I've had that fear a lot. You don't want to do anything wrong, So what you want to do is spend a ton of time talking about things because then you can try and minimize the mistakes. What I try and do is just do things. Just do them, make the mistakes, learn from the stakes and go forward. What a lot of people seem to do is spend 234 times as much time. Talking about things is actually doing them with the hope they can minimize mistakes. The problem is, then, when there is a mistake, it seems like this huge deal and it's got to get talked about a lot. I just try and do things. I don't want to sit there and talk. I just want to get to work and do something. I mean, the same is having a relationship. I want to do things. I want to go out. I want to get to know the other person. I don't just want to sit around and talk. In other words, without the intent of actually doing something or talk way more than we actually do things by do things I mean spend time together talking. So I want to always be doing things in all of my learning because the best learning happens from hands on. Would you rather talk about having a relationship? Would you rather actually be working on learning that? Would you rather learn about doing something by actually doing it, or would you rather talk and theorize about it? Most people actually seem to prefer to talk in theorize about it because that's safer. It's safer to talk about all these great ideas and think, Oh, man, what about this? What about that? Oh, yeah, it's so comfortable to just do that because it's scary to go hands on and see how messed up things actually turn out and how many times you've gotta work and struggle to get things going. The both successful people. I tend to see her people that get straight into the doing, the people who don't spend much time talking about things and just do them and communicate on an ongoing basis. So I don't mean you shouldn't communicate. What I'm saying is there's no need to talk about things a whole bunch beforehand. Usually you can communicate in a paragraph. Your idea. Oh, I think we could do this. This and that. Okay, let's start doing it and see what happens. I do that with all my courses. If people want to collaborate, sure, here's a course. Start doing something in it. Make a lecture and it make the outline in it. Start doing some work in it so that I know you're willing to actually do work in this because that's all I really need to know. Learning is the exact same way. How many things have you talked about? You wanted to learn? You didn't even hardly start them. I look at with my learning. I want to start learning, go hands on with it like I did with coding I went hands on with it. I started off by taking a course, and I thought, You know what? I really don't want to learn this. I already have spent probably hundreds of hours in high school learning how to code, and I That's not what I want to do right now. And that's okay. When you go hands on, you figure that out fast. When you just take courses and try and learn about things, it's hard to figure that out. So go hands on. I hope the one thing I've communicated in this course is that if you weren't learn something, you've got to do it. So thank you for experiencing this course with me, and I hope this course inspires you to go actually do something. 41. What will you learn now? How do you feel about yourself?: How do you feel about yourself in your potential now? I hope after taking this course, you are really excited about all the incredible potential you have inside you about all of the need. The world has to experience what you have to learn and share with us. We want you to give all of your heart into learning what you love to learn and then share that back with us so that we all can have a better life and so that we all can serve you as you serve us.
