1. Class Preview: start learning in design and create a project at the same time. In this class, we will create a beautiful flip book for both digital and print. Woke over the basics of in design and learn how to lay out a beautiful and clean design. And we're gonna cover all the basics and we're gonna learn how to work with paragraphs Headlines Body Copy. Learn how to work with Montel colors and then design. Learn how to do text wraps, learn all about master pages and spread layout and design in design could be a blast, so let's learn together. 2. Setting up your file: welcome to end design. We're going to learn how to develop a multiple page pdf flip book. So I am in the latest version have been designed. So if you have an older version, it might look a little bit differently than this. But all the same options are available, so it just might look a little bit differently at first. But once you get into the program, it should look very similar, even if you have an older version. So what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna start a traditional flip book. We could do this really any size. Um, I'm gonna actually do this flip book as an 8.5 by 11 or in 11 by 8.5, but just have to figure out what size I'd like it be good to do it and print a print version so that if you want to save it and export it as additional version, you can. But you also have the ability ability to print it as well. Let's go ahead and get started right now. I'm gonna go ahead and go two units and, um, I'm in the United States, so I'm going to use inches, but you would obviously use other measurements if you need to. So I'm just gonna do kind of in 8.5 by 11. Ah, this is portrait size or conduce. Ah, horizontal flip book. Which I think that's kind of the look I'm going for. So let's go ahead and go with that. So I'm gonna go with the horizontal orientation. I'm gonna start out with 12 pages. And if you were ever to get this printed professionally, a lot of printers like to see things divisible by four. So they like to see either 48 12 16 20 pages and so on. It's the way they print it. It actually saves them and knew a lot of money. So a lot of times, if I'm thinking about doing an eight page ah, that's good. But if I have nine or 10 pages, I might go ahead. Just increase it to the next multiple, which would be 12. So just a little tip if you are gonna do a print version of this, um so let's go ahead and margins. I usually go ahead, leave default because I'm so used to margins being 1/4 of an inch. Um, so let's go ahead. Click create. That's gonna go ahead and create a document. And this is in design. I'm going to do this class like you are our new to in designing a little bit of experience , but not much. So I'm gonna go to a nice pace for you. So over to the right, we have our pages, So I kind of have everything. This is gonna be your first page, and I'm over here on the right side. We can actually serve. See our entire document all the way down to the last page, which this is my double click. It is gonna be our back page. I'm gonna double click on page one, and it's gonna be a front page and all these downhill to go ahead and zoom out so you could see a little bit what I'm doing. Zoom out to 50%. Okay, so now you can kind of see the entire document. So these are all called spreads is gonna be spread since the left side, the right side of each of the inside pages. This is kind of your basic set up. And next we're going to get We're gonna get started 3. Learn Master pages: So before we get started, I wanted to review master pages. This is gonna be a huge time saver when you have multiple pages where you wanna have the same design on each page. So if I didn't have master pages, this is exactly what I would do. I'd go ahead and set up my document here, and I will draw a design element. Will say I wanted a bar and I got a very go ahead and draw just your basic box at the bottom. And let's say this is part of my branding that I've developed that I want to have kind of our branded color right here at the bottom. And I went that on every single page. So if he didn't use master pages, he would just copy and paste, and he would just continue to do that all the way throughout the documents. But what if you had 50 pages? You had a 50 page flip book, and it would just take you forever to do the same design element on all these pages. Well, there's something called master pages. Let me go ahead, delete all of these and I'll show you exactly how Master pages can apply the same object to everything in your document. So the access master page, you're gonna go up here to the top on your pages panel. If you do not see that, just goto window and click on pages and you'll be ableto bring it up. So here's your master page right here. So I'm gonna go ahead and double click this and this could take me to the master page so I can do any kind of design actually gonna click on. Let's see. Yes. So I'm gonna go ahead and get a nice box here. Let's go ahead and pick out a really nice color for a flip book. Let me pick out like a nice Tiffany blue. Not quite cause that is copyrighted, but something close. I love a blue greed. It was good drawer box or kind of design element there. I think I like that. And let's say we want it on the other side as well. So I could put the website down there and white. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do exactly. Aiken dio I could do something a little different. I'm taking the pin tool and I'm just gonna draw like maybe try and go up at the corner. That could be a design element instead of the boxes. Um, so I'm not sure. So I'm just going to do the basic boxes because I know I'd like to have my website down. They're on every page. Let's go ahead and do it. Do that. Let's put our website is getting the text box tool and I'm gonna type in www. Actually, we don't need Www anymore. That's old school. So let's discuss, um, Lindsey Marsh design dot coms. Kind of something I made up that doesn't really exist. Let's go ahead and do a quick railway font. Just pretty versatile. Let's do light all caps and let's expand it out a little bit. Just doing this as a quick example to show you how to de master pages. So let's not mess with it too much. Okay, so we went that on every page. Let's go ahead and do two quick things. Let me make it a tiny bit smaller at a little bit more spacing, make a little more elegant, and let's make it white, make a little smaller and then white, and I'm just being picking here. Goto a color panel and ups double click it, Make it white, and let's make sure it's centered. Okay, that's good. For now, it's not perfect, but that's fine. Okay, so I want apply was go ahead. Copy and paste. It would make the spread the same. Gonna make sure these air aligned going up here gonna align it. Okay, so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna say this is this has already been set, So I'm gonna go and click back on my page one. And look, my entire document has the same bar of text with the website, so I can easily change every single page just like that, and have a design element that I want repeated. So pretty cool. Awesome time saver. So next we're gonna go ahead and continue with our first page design. 4. Saving: So when it decided to do, I went ahead and went back to my master pages up here, and I have decided I don't want anything on the right side. I just kind of went a little bit of a small logo or not logo, but my kind of company name. I'm gonna come up with a fake yoga studio flip book, so I decided a name, a good life. Yoga Adams could have a little small simple on the bottom left hand side. Just a simple box with some text so you don't have to save master pages when you go up to master pages that automatically, whatever you do on their automatically saves to all of these below pages. Let's go and click back on the first page, and you can kind of see how it applies. It applies it to every page or every spread. It's gonna go to the left side all the way down all the way down my pages. So let's say this is the very last page. The last page is gonna be your back cover if you get it printed or it's gonna be your final page. If it's a digital. Pdf I don't want the website to be to the left. I want it to be different and centered. I'll have to do is right. Click on that last page and just go ahead and apply toe Master pages. Go ahead and click on none and click OK, and this will not participate in the master pages anymore. So you have to do is right. Click and put it on the nun and it'll it won't load for that page. So if you want to have a unique page that doesn't look like your master page, you can do that with any page. Really? So it's kind of the basic set up for master pages, So Okay, I want to save my documents, so I'm gonna go file Save I created a folder called Flip Book and I like to save my in design files in that folder, and I like to put any images and into that folder as well. So it's all kind of in one folder in one place so that when I start late linking some of these photos in their all in the same directory, they're all in the same folder, so let me just quickly save this. I'm gonna save yoga Lit book. I'm gonna go ahead and put that I think it believe it's on my desktop and put it in my foot book folder as my saving is in design document and I'm ready to get started. So let's go ahead and go to the front list. Develop a front cover, so I'm on page one. Let's develop a front cover. So what I usually like to do as I like to go and set my colors and font and branding for the entire document on the first page. So I really like this little color is almost Tiffany Blue. I think that's on my master page in the click of a master page. Let me just go ahead and copy this. Go back to page one and paste it. We can go ahead and, um, start creating some ideas, so I'll go ahead and press the W key. Go ahead and press it. This is what happens. You'll be able to see be able to extend things outside of this visible art board if you press W so you can kind of create things on the outside here, and it's not gonna affect what appears on your document. If you were to toggle w again, it makes that disappear. And you're able to kind of see the final ah document so you can go ahead and toggle that they hide it. Andan hide it. So this press w go ahead, do that. So let's go ahead and get started. The Net. Next video. We'll go ahead and get our palette and some fought choices. 5. Picking out your branding theme colors/font: All right. So this is the fun part. We get to go ahead and select a color palette and our font choices, So Oh, this is kind of our first page. This is where I'm just gonna kind of develop some things. So we go ahead. We have our blue green gets its more of a blue than anything that's gonna be a kind of our main color. Let's go ahead and color come up with some other color palette idea. So I'm just gonna copy and paste the square and see what goes really well. Ah, with this color we can bring in, I could go back to my foot book folder and see if there's any photos. I downloaded these photos from a website called Pixels P e X E l s. And they have a lot of good free stock photography. So we can go ahead and bring in some of these photos and see if we can use the eyedropper tool to get a little inspiration for our second color here. So let's see what would be nice. I really like the sky. Think this is beautiful so we can kind of take the eyedropper tool see what we confined here. Kind of a peach color, maybe a deeper color like this. I really like that a lot that you see. Let's keep going. See if there's something deeper, kind of like that purple kind, like this lighter color that could be kind of a secondary color. It's gonna make this smaller, see what other colors we can draw in. I'm a lot of times I like to take a shade and create shades within the same family, so it's Go ahead, double click your swatch, and they make a darker shade or could make a lighter shade like this so that could go really well right here. And let's see who could make that darker or lighter. Let's see what a darker shade would look like. They can also go down here to your color panel. And if you cannot find this panel's goto window and then go to color right there, so you go and make some adjustments, along with same scale who that is beautiful. I like that. Okay, so I can have is to blues and then I have kind of these two kind of pink issues, so let's go ahead and go stick with that as kind of our color inspiration. So, no, let's go ahead and pick out a few fonts We like. Um, so let's go ahead and take our website here. I'm gonna copy and paste this and I'm gonna make this. Um, let's see, let's go and make this black for now, just so we could have a clear idea of the plot. I'm gonna go ahead, make this box a little bigger, so I have some space to play with and make this a little bigger too. So this is gonna be your headline fonts. This is gonna be about this size, maybe even bigger. So ah, thought I like I really like open Sands because it's has a lot of different fought our weight choices. So let me go to extra bold. Let's get a nice, bold fought and I'm gonna go. This is automatically on the top. All these options when you're in design, when you are selected on the text tool, unlike illustrator, which is a little bit different. So I'm gonna go ahead and highlight this and let's see, let's adjust the spacing between the lettering, which could be right here. Let's make that 200 make a little more spacing. Maybe 300 men. A type that and manually and what I'm gonna do for headline go ahead, make that a little bit bigger. And once collapsed, the spacing down to zero. Actually, I like a nice tight spacing with bigger, bolder headlines. So it's gonna be kind of our headline idea. So an in design when you have a text box and you have kind of this extra, um, kind of area right here you go ahead, double click on the bottom. Right corner double click it. It will actually collapse it around the text so you don't have this extra big box. So this is ah, main headline. So I'm actually gonna collapse the space in between the lines now, so I'm gonna go up top here. Ah, let me see if I could find it. See if it's in the paragraph. These are two options here. This is the character panel. If you click down here in this paragraph Icahn, you'll switch and will be the paragraph options. So you gotta get some different options here. Um, so that's where I confined. Let's see, Go back to character here it is spacing between the, uh There it is. Let's collapsed at a little bit. Spacing between the lines. Okay, so in designs. Great. Because got a lot more control over Flint, as opposed to illustrator, where it has some control over font and how it collapses and how it is loaded. But in design is so much more powerful when it comes Stuff, type and farm management Onda how it works. So in the next video, we're gonna continue kind of developing the sub line and the body copy, and once we have that will be ready to start making your document. 6. Continuing to develop your theme/brand: are we have our main headline headline font established Let's go ahead and establish our other types of bonds. So let's go ahead and illustrate on and, um, in design right now I'm gonna go and take this corner and to stretch it out I'll hear a little bit actually going to stretch a little bit bigger to put this all on one line. There we go, and I'm gonna double click and that's good at collapse it, Teoh go around The text was gonna copy and paste like I do a lot makes life easier. And this is gonna be kind of your secondary headline. It's not gonna be a biggest your bigger headlines could be a little bit smaller. So let's reduce the weight and make it semi bold And actually let's make it, uh, regular. And let's ah, produce the font size right there. I'm in the character panel here, which is automatically on the top when you're in the font section on icon. I'm actually to put a little more spacing between the lettering was going to make that 200 . It's okay, so I really like that any time you don't want to see these lines. It kind of gets in the way of you seeing what you're doing. This toggle w So now it's a good way to see it without all the junk there that could distract you. So body copy. Let's copy and paste and develop. Nice body copy. Ah, body copies. Good. Make a little bit bigger. Um, usually a good body copy. Size ist 12. That's good. This is currently on all caps. So let's just toggle that no will no longer be on all caps. So we're gonna just, um, type ends on sample text right here at this area. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna copy and paste a few times and get some nice sample text. I want to keep the font in the same family. Um, I'm gonna make it regular. I'm also going to let's see what I'm gonna dio. I need to collapse. This is too much spacing between the lines. So let's go ahead and collapse that a little bit. Um, let's go right here. Here. It iss right here to reduce the space in between the lines. Let's go ahead and reduce that a little bit. That's nice. And we also need to reduce the spacing between the characters. It was good. Make that a nice zero. So now that's starting to look like some nice body copy. We could even make it 11. But with this type of flip book, it's not gonna be a magazine where there's gonna be a ton of text. So I really don't mind making this a little bit bigger than what a standard body company would be, so I'll keep it a little bit bigger and notice how, um in in design museum in just a little bit, so you can see better the museum in at 100%. Okay, so you can see how it hyphenates you can adjust this text box to make it will start collapsing, um, the text into the to fit into the box. But you'll notice that every once in a while it'll do a hyphen. I don't like hyphens, so let's go ahead and highlight the text. And this is how you eliminate hyphenation. Go to the character icon right here under 10 when you're in your text tool and go ahead on a click hyphenate so that will, um, divvy up the text. So there's no hyphens created. And when I really love is doing right now, this is a line to the left. I really love doing a left and right alignment with body copies. Let's go ahead, highlight. And to do that I'm right here in the paragraph option. And right here is all your different alignments. So we could do center alignment, Right alignment. This was default left alignment. But what I really love is right here. It's called justify with Last line A line left, Let's go and click on this and it's gonna make everything left and right justified and it just looks really nice and publications. So I'm gonna go ahead and keep that. So there we go. We kind of have our basic branding established for the document. We have images and we are ready to be ready to go 7. Front cover design!: Okay, so we are ready to get started with Their document was going to create our front cover. So this is kind of our basic template of different fonts and sizes we're gonna use throughout the whole document, so everything is cause consistent throughout. So I'm gonna go ahead and take this. I'm gonna toggle w So I have my art port around it that I can move things to the side, go ahead and select everything and to shift it over here so I can have access to it. Okay, so this is our front cover. Ah, let's go ahead and take this beautiful blue Gonna copy and paste it. Now we're just gonna have fun and start creating something. So I have my go ahead and do this nice beautiful blue was go and bring a photo in. I'm in my folder I created for this document. Let's try to find a photo. I think would really be good for the cover on that we could do something a little artistic . So let's see, what is a really good photo we could use? Um I really like using people shots to draw people in. Let's do this one of this lady in the city. I'm just gonna drag it in. I'm gonna hold down shift. And when I hold down shift, I'm gonna scale this down perfectly and perfect dimension. So it doesn't stretch actually going to use command shift and do it again. That's gonna make it smaller. I'm once again command shift and then drag. It's making a little bit smaller. And another thing you can do and in design and design is so proud when it comes to photography, too, so much easier than in designed to manage. So let's say I want to put this I actually, uh, when I create a shape and I want to put that photo with shape So let's say I want to have this photo appear right here in this box. I'm gonna make it a different color. You can kind of see what I'm talking about. I want this photo to go in the green box, so I'm gonna go ahead, delete this. I'm gonna go back to my photo. What I can do is I can actually drag this photo right over the shape, and that's gonna pop it right in there. So I'm gonna select the image and of course, it's cropped. So to fix that, we're gonna right click, go down the fitting and there's several different options here you can play with. So I'm gonna fill frame proportionately so it's gonna fill the frame with my photo perfectly like that. So I'm gonna toggle w when so automatically kind of have, you know, a nice cover going on here so I can do the same thing with shape. So if I want to do a circle, I'm gonna hold down, shift and drags on, Get a nice even circle and let's go ahead and take her. I drop tool and make that a different color. I want the photo to populate and a circle I just dragged into the circle. Boom! Go to right click goto fitting gonna fill friend frame proportionately, and it's automatically in my circle Top toggle W And here we go. We already have kind of something developing here, Um, so let's go ahead and make this blue a little bit bigger so I can actually have three circles going down with three different images. There's a lot of things we can do, so let's go ahead and toggle w Let's go ahead and copy and paste this headlines Get a nice headline going here. What I'm gonna do is I'm going to take this. I'm gonna drag it, make it more narrow. So it's gonna actually collapse this one line into three. And I'm gonna make this, I wonder. Let's make this white. So I was gonna double click the text or go to color. There's my color if you can Not If somehow a box was deleted on your options is gonna window and load your colors this way So I'm going todo RBG and let's do some coloring heels do white There we go Now we have white text and a lot of times these lines bother me. Um, I can't quite see how it looks finally, So I just toggle that W and I'm able to see it a lot better. So this this text can afford to be a lot bigger. And whenever you see text disappear, it's extended outside of its text box. You just need to make the textbook text box bigger, and that text will appear again. So let's increase. Let's go to my character panel and we're just gonna play around the space between the lines . Let's make a pretty big gap here. Let's really make it extend. And I wonder if I do this as a light fun. That'll look good, too. There we go. So I feel like this needs a little something else. Let's say we're gonna want tohave our website, so let's go ahead. Let's go back to our master pages. I think I have my website there. Here's my master page. Okay, let me copy. Go back to my first cover page and paste and I have my little website there I can have. Maybe we can toggle. W get kind of my stuff back here. Let's see what it looks like in this box. It's copy and paste this peachy box here. I'm kind of playing off the colors, and there's some purple in this photo as well. It's always good to play off your photography colors to make it match, and if this extends outside, that's totally fine. Your press W can see where the final document will end up being so that those colors go well together. I really like that I'm still not 100% happy with this fun, but we can always play with it A little later. We're just gonna block everything out. Which means you get everything up and you can finesse it after we're done with the document . So if I'm not 100% with that, we can just play with it a little later. But I'm happy with the overall blocking overall, kind of basically out of this. 8. working with paragraphs and copy: So now we're gonna have a little bit Ah, fund and create our first spread. I'm gonna actually scroll back up to our first page here, and I'm gonna toggle w so I can get my art board here. And I'm going to just select all of this un select that image there. I'm just gonna you can copy and paste it, but I like to kind of have it on each spreads. I can have easy access and do kind of an eyedropper tool for everything. So let's go ahead and create our first spread eso A lot of times I like to load in photos first and then work on texts. Seconds. Let's go ahead and get some shapes here. Um, I kind of have some angles. Toggle w here have some angles going on. I like to continue to work with that. So let's go ahead and select Arpin Tool and make a triangle. So I'm just gonna do a triangle, maybe in the corner of the page are actually better yet, since this is a nice spread, I almost wonder if we can have it span have the shape kind of span this area here that is kind of made it a little shape here. I'm gonna toggle this swapping. Fill this little arrow right here. It's gonna switch it from the line to the pill and let's go ahead and drag in a our photo. So what's going Drag this photo in? Yeah, let's use that one. So let's go ahead and select our object here that we just dragged her photo into right click fitting Phil frame proportionately. There we go. Perfect. So now we can kind of create our 1st 1st text box. Let's get a headlines, go ahead and go back to our little panel here, toggle w We're gonna need a headline. We're going to need all of this, so let's go ahead and copy and Paste is gonna be our headline for our first panel. This is where margins are good. If you like to say your margin even deeper, you can have nice white space. But I like to eyeball things to when it comes to a flip book. Okay, so this is gonna be kind of I want to have a good amount of texts. Okay, let's make this a tiny bit. That's a good size. So it's gonna be our headline. Of course, that's just kind of filler for right now. Sub line right here is going, says our main headline. We don't necessarily need a sub line here, so we don't really need that. We just kind of need a nice grabbing attention headline. This is our body copy. And so I'm gonna go ahead and make this a little bit deeper here. Let's go ahead and put some spacing between the paragraphs. So this is what happens. This is what's fantastic about in design. You have a lot of control over your type and text. So let's say I want Teoh. Um hum, make this a little bit skinnier where I can make this two column very easily. So how I'm going to do that, But they have a lot of spillover content. Okay, So whenever you have, ah, certain text box and then make it smaller, all this text that's at the bottom when I collapse it it disappears. Well, where does it go? It goes into this overflow, um, text option. So whenever I do this, I'm gonna load the rest of this paragraph, so I'm gonna go and click on this small little plus sign, you see? And it's gonna have this option right here. This is gonna ask me where I want a load. The second, all the overflow text from this text box. I'm gonna go and click. It's gonna be right here. And this is a great, easy way to make two columns. So whenever I drag this down, it's gonna take text away from this box and bring it back into here. So they're really linked. I'm gonna bring this down until about the end of Ah, nice stopping point. There we go. So I just created night, Uh, really nice two column layout right here. And it goes really nice with this angle. Right here is. Well, so let's say I wanted to keep going. I'm gonna go ahead and copy and paste these two panels. Are these two columns? Go ahead and bring it down here. So this will be a new, um, sample text. Let's say I want to make this shorter, so I'm gonna collapse it, and we're doing the same thing, but in reverse right here. So that's an easy way. Let me actually make this a little bit shorter. You can cut a finesse. This a little bit. That's gonna depend on how much copy you have. Really? Depends how you to do your layout. And we could probably put something here. Maybe another headline or maybe sub line. Let's do our smaller headline font for right here. I'm gonna make by a box a little shorter, make it collapse a little bit. So if we're happy with this, will be to save it. And that's kind of some basic I do paragraph ing. It could break it up into columns, a lot of different options, and we'll keep going with some. When we do some different pages, let me actually move this to the right a little bit. It's taken this object, noting it over a little bit, says, Well, more even space in between the two layouts. So there's our first spread and will keep going and learn more as we go along 9. Let's create our first spread!: I'm gonna finesse the spur spread just a little bit. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna toggle w bring up thes options right here. And I'm gonna add a little bit of color to some of the headlines. Just taking the eyedropper tool. I'm gonna play around with some might, uh, some color. You go in toggle w See what I got here. That looks a little bit better already, and a lot of times a body copy. I'm gonna go ahead and select all of this, and I'm actually gonna make it a little bit of Ah, right now it's set on black, but sometimes it's nice to set it a little bit on a gray tone. Makes it look a lot more subtle and nice. You see the difference between the grey here and the black Here, this looks a lot more subtle. It looks really nice. It really goes, um goes with the flow of this document, that kind of more softer tone. So that was what 80% gray, More eighties, percent black. There we go. That looks nice. So a lot of times, this isn't that this is all this gobbledygook. It's not actual text. But let's go ahead and play around with Bolding. I don't like to leave body copy all the same weight. I like to bring out certain elements. So I'm just gonna go up and make that bold, extra, bold, kind of as a differentiates. A little bit of text was. Do that over here to boot. What's great is going toggle or W Let's go ahead. Make this. Ah, lighter color. Go ahead. I dropped a tool right here. Um, there we go. We finesse it a little bit. And, um, let's say there's too much white space who went at kind of a line just kind of break everything up a little bit. It's good and shift this headline up a little bit and let's create a line. We're gonna go right here to our line tool, and we're just gonna click and hold and create a simple straight line. So let's say we went out a little bit. Break this lineup at a little texture to it. Maybe some dots. It's not just a straight line, Um, and I also want to change the color. Actually, this is color I like, so I'm gonna keep that if you go up here to your options. This is Ah, solid line, but we can change it to I like Japanese dots. You click off of a kind of season dot action going on here, we can actually change the stroke. The higher the stroke number. Um, the bigger the stroke. Isso is gonna make the dots bigger. Just like that. I'll see what else There's ah, double thin line. If we want a double thin line that has a certain looker effect Straight hash. What you can't see unless I increase the stroke, Then you can see it. So that has kind of a certain effect. Dash thick, wavy, wavy. That doesn't really quite go what we have. But it could go with what you're wanting to do. So this experiment, white diamonds. Nice. Ah, but I think what goes best here, this probably Japanese dots and respect it a lot more subtle. Just like that man. One more one more, bigger. Let's make it two. There we go. So if you do win a line and you think that works, will it kind of helps break up the different areas visually, So I'm just copying and pasting I got my lying already. Copy and paste. It might actually make it shorter and drag it up. It will keep the same dot size. Oops, I'm actually zoom in. This is work. It's a little bit tricky because I want to be able to pull. Let's go ahead and zoom in here view soon. Men. There we go. And a lot of times you can take your direct selection tool. It's like this object to make it shorter. You could have a line, maybe here, right here, Separate like that. A little bit taller. So it's gotta zoom out and see what we have going on here. So you kind of see her document and see how it's flowing. See if we like it. We like the consistency. So so far, I am okay with it. I think it looks okay. Was good. Save it and let's go ahead and start with the next panel. 10. Blending Modes: All right, So here's our second spread since we had a very text heavy first spread. Let's do kind of a very image heavy second spread to give people kind of visual break after reading this couple blocks of text. So let's make this entire panel of photo. Ah. So what we're gonna do is I'm gonna go ahead and take an object. I'm gonna go ahead and select a rectangle tool and create object going to make this all the way to the side. And instead of just making it a perfect perfectly to the left side, I'm actually could extend it a little bit into the second page of the spread and see what that looks like. So I'm gonna go ahead, Dragon, a photo that alike. Let's see what looks good. Maybe it's going do this nice image right here of the mountains. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna create some other small objects. Let's create to rectangle photos. I was gonna copy and paste it. So now I know that's the same size and what I'm gonna dio as I'm gonna drag two photos in here. Let's drag hood and see how it zoomed in a lot. Let's go ahead and right. Click. Perhaps click on my image first, right click fitting fit frame proportionately. There we go. And let's drag a photo. That's very similar. I'm can select my objects like my photo fitting, but different proportionally. So now we kind of have a nice visual, actually. You know what? Wonder if it could make that bigger. We can always just make the image bigger. Zoomed in pretty good. So this gives us a little bit. We could do a little bit of copy here, but instead of having white space, I'm actually gonna go up. I'm gonna get are blue. Copy that. Bring it down. I'm gonna make this a blue box right here, and I'm gonna have a chance to put a nice, bold headline to the right. Let's go and grab our headline font. This is already in white, so I'm just gonna I like to go back to previous pages. And if I already like it, copy and paste it side like this element. Let's copy. I love to copy and paste saves a lot of time, and I'd like to have some kind of phrase here. Um uh live life to apps. Life to the max are full list. Okay, let's do that. We could play around with a font a tiny bit, so let's make that bold and let's make it a Talic. There we go, going to do the same thing with this as well. And it's really nice toe have different weights and italicize to bring out different elements. Let's put this on the same line. Perhaps so live life to the fullest that they would guess. That's kind of our second spread. If we decide we don't really like it on the blue box, we want white space. That's easy. Let's go ahead and make this blue line to the right and let's make this the blue and we have these different colors here. We really want to bring out. So let's toggle or w Let's I just bring these color palettes down here, the spread so I can I don't have to scroll up anymore. So let's bring these over here and let's say I want to bring out some of this darker color . Well, we could do just that. Tackle the w, let's see what we have. Still not happy with it Let's make this the lighter shade. Maybe this will join a little bit better because we already have a lot of blue going on here. Well, Steuer lighter colors. Well, let's continue to play with this. Okay? So let's kind of play with these images a little bit. Let's go ahead and select this image and select this image. Let's see, How can we kind of I knew these around. What if they go over here? I would have won images. Those over here We have another one here, kind of change it up a little bit. Or maybe it's his background image That's not really driving. Let's drag and then it any time you have a photo already loaded into ah, um, an object or a shape, all you have to do is drag another photo over it, and it'll automatically replace it. Right click off policy fitting that brand still frame. So maybe this is what I need to do. I just need to kind of have a photo switch. I really like this. I always wonder I make this a little bit bigger. I'm just gonna drag this, see her hands or cropped. You can crop it any way you want dragged the sad a little bit, we'll show her on the rocks. I want to show her whole body. So I'm just using command shift and drag. Get a nice, proportionate reduction. There we go. I really like the photo better. It's good. Drag these over and I wonder if I'm adding a nice stroke outside of these photos will make it better. I'm clicking on this main photo, and I'm just gonna reduce it a little bit, or even to spring it back to have it be the page again. It's all about experimenting and seeing what works better. I'm already liking this a little bit better. Still not happy about the font over here in the pink, but, uh, we'll figure that out. So maybe it is a little drop shadow. So let's go ahead and select this image, and I'm selecting This image is, well, I'm going to right click and go to the effects options. You can click on any of these. Let's click on Drop Shadow. It's gonna pull up your effects panel, so let's see what kind of effects we can add. Let's do a drop shadow. Uh, let's do not so strong. Always like to do drop shadows that air subtle. So maybe 25%. I always click on previews. I could see what kind of effect it has. Let's reduce the distance, Bring that shadow back in a little bit and let's increase the size they'll spread it out and make it look a little more subtle and realistic. So dropping the shadow really kind of adds a little bit more of a three dimensional feeling to this. That still is very clean. What I can do. I really like the contrast between the white and the blue background. Um, here's another thing we could play around with. Let's bring up. Go ahead, bring our blue object over here on. Let's make this the same size as the photo, and I'm gonna go ahead and right click this. I want to send this to the back. I don't want this to be the back layer, so I'm gonna arrange and send it to the back. So now if I select this top layer, you'll see it's in the background. Let's see what we can do with transparency. Okay, We're going over a lot in this one. Spread Let's see if we can find, uh, one of that's in the backs. Total effects. There it is. Okay, so we're in the effects panel and I This is what's called transparent, actually a class. It's a blending modes classic kind of go goes over the basics of some of these. Ah, but this is where you can change some options on photography and photos is when you're in the effects, I'm gonna go ahead and pull it up again. So you kind of know how to access that. So you get a window and effects and this is how you pull that panel up, so it's gonna make it a little bit bigger, but will let me I don't think it will. Okay, so let's go and play around. This is multiply. And I have this blue. It's blue background behind it, which is kind of our branded color. And I put the other photo on top cause a blending mode is actually gonna let some of that blue behind the photo through, and you can kind of see how it's gonna be affected. I really like luminosity. This is cool, cause it really gives kind of an even tone of that blue behind the photo looks kind of cool . You can always reduce the opacity, which is basically transparency. Make it more transparent. You make more subtle like this. Yes, we have our nice branded blue coming through right there. And the more you make it transparent, the more that blue's gonna come out. So that could work. Luminosity, color, dodge overlay screen. Ah, saturation. So go ahead. Make that all the way. Some of these air a little wacky just depends on the sector going for But in this case, let's do luminosity. I Let's scale it back ever so suddenly. There we go. So really liking that a lot. Eso Let's go ahead and move this image over. And here's our background. I wonder if we play around with this kind of purple que seeing. You can see when I changed it to purple. Now we can actually go back. Where's our effects? If you can't find something, go window effects and he always have it where you can just drag it over here so you always have it easily accessible. So I think that's already at 100%. So that's a strong as it's gonna get. So I like this. I like this Allow were really playing with pink and purples here. Um, let's go with it. This was gonna drag this too. How we like it. I want to see the rocks there at the bottom. We're looking at her first spread. Better second spread. I'm changing my mind already. I'm gonna make this that blue color again. I'm a toggle. The w There it is. There's my colors here. Let's go ahead and take the eyedropper tool and bring it back to the blue con. Selected eyedropper tool ups accidentally change that one. That's watch. So click on our background color. Get that blue back, toggle the W Let's bring her image back over. There we go and let's make sure we have that on the luminosity and we go back in the effects. Do luminosity scale back a little bit? Boom, There we go. I like that contrast between the purple in the blue, so it's not too much pink, So I really like that. So let's go ahead and save it and we'll try some new things. And the next spread 11. Text wrap fun!: All right, Here's our new spread that we created. I would have just copied the text up here already, like the basic layout down. So just go ahead and copy. And I pasted the text here so we can start the next spread kind of show you with some tricks that you can do with the laying out paragraphs and type. So, um, I am going to go ahead and create a circle that kind of show you some effects you can do. So I'm gonna create just going here to your circle tulips tool to create a basic circle. So I'm just going to do I'm going to type in a bunch of just kind of filler. Copy. It's typing in a bunch there. So let's say we have four lines of copy here, and I'm just gonna go right over here with it. This is coming, so I'm gonna show you. Well, we just need about three lines here, so I'm gonna show you cut some kind of neat ways. You can carve different shapes and toe into paragraphs, so I'm gonna go ahead and set. I'm gonna go over here to window, and I'm gonna go to text wrap. Go and select this tool, and right now there is no text wraps. So if I drag this object under or I could neither have it the top layer or the bottom layer , and it just doesn't really interact with the text it'll. But if I go to text rap and I go to the second option object, which is wraparound bounding box, let's go ahead and select on that. We could now drive this object over the taxes, actually get to interact. So whenever I drag it over, it's good, uh, interact with this, uh, this bounding box wory. Hey, go ahead. It's like this option which wrapped around the object shape. So if I go ahead and this is your bounding box right here, if you click on the third option, it's actually gonna do it around the circle. So now when I knew the circle over, you could see how it the text hugs around the object. So you see this? A lot of magazine publications. That's how they kind of get that nice shape. They don't have to mainly do it. They can just ah put the text wrapped option on the object and they can do some pretty neat text wrapping effects. So if they wanna have kind of a picture here, they could do it and got a just noodle around with it. If you want to have some more breathing room between the object and the text, you just add that breathing room right here and you can increase. It'll increase the, uh, the white space between the object. So there we go. So now if I wanted to drag this up a little bit over, let's make this a little wider. Let's make this wider. It was copying to paste this. This isn't the most exciting copy, I can tell you that much, so that has a nice curve. Rituals make this a little bit bigger. Let's go and dragon image in here. It's dragging this nice forest image. And, um, let's say OK, so let's go ahead. Right click fitting Phil frame proportionately like we've always done. But you can see how the photos not exactly where we'd like it. So I'm going to select this direct selection tool, which is right underneath your main selection tool. If I select the object, the photo, I can actually drag it down and kind of crop itm or how I'd like it, which might be right. I need to make it smaller. So I'm gonna go ahead and it's like my selection tool Hold down command shift. Just making a little smaller. And there we go. That's perfect. Right there. This is a little bit more of a text heavy. You just move this the left a little bit more of a text heavy area. So I might want at another box here. Maybe another circle. Maybe that circle overlaps this this circle a little bit. So if you wanted to be behind you go to a range and send it back. If you wanted to be in front, you go to arrange and send a front. So what I like in the back, actually, let's drag another photo. We're kind of running out of photos. So, like me to go on pixels and hunt down some more photos. Let's do this one fitting that frame proportionately and let's get our direct selection tool. Select. It kind of shifted around a little bit. How we like it right there. That's good. So there's some, uh, and actually one ad, maybe a drop shadow the circle to add a little more dimension. So I'm actually gonna select both of these so I could select this one hold down shift line would select the 2nd 1 I could do these both at the same time. I can right click, which is the easiest way to find it and go toe effects and click on any of these options. Ah, drop shadow. I'm gonna add a little drop shadow, so that doesn't look good. So let's bring back the opacity a little bit. Let's bring down the distance and increase the size and click on, OK, so that add a little bit more of a three dimensional kind of look, I can always make this a little bigger. And what's great about this page? Let me do an object when we put a background of this right page to contrast against all the white on the left side. So I'm gonna do arranged in the back so I can do that or let me do my my colors up here. Do my eyedropper tool. Let's make that that maroon color. Oops. I may have to copy and paste here, bring my colors back down here so I could be able to use my eyedropper tool. But I haven't used any kind of that other color yet. The toggle W I can actually select this object hold down command shift, make it a little smaller. The Texas automatically could adjust. So I can really do anything I want here. But I love how it hugs the text. It could really create some cool effects. With that, we could make this even bigger. Maybe make the circle go off the page. Doesn't really matter. You can even have this extend all the way into the next panel. You do whatever you want, especially when it's a flip book. It has kind of a spread you could do. Do pages that really connect with each other on DPI play with each other, So this is kind of our second option we can actually bring, Like, for example, let's go ahead and do it the same effect. The blending effect. We could do something in the background here, so it's not just a solid color. Let's go ahead and save our document. And let's, um, I'm gonna go ahead and copy. I want pasting this object so I have the right size and let's drag a different foot of something that would be really good in the background. Maybe it's this leaf. Maybe it's this photo right here. So now I'm gonna range You sent out the back, and I went all the way to the back, actually want this solid color to be in the back, So I'm gonna click on that a range. And this is this layering. You just send things the bags and send them to the front, um, to kinda get the exact placement. So you want when you're doing a blending mode like we did up here, You want your solid color to be in the back and you want your photo to be on the front, and they're going to select your photo and you're gonna go back Number two effects and we're gonna select Let's do this is called Blending Modes. We're just like luminosity again. There we go. That's nice. And this is our little photo. That's our background solid color books. And this is our photo. So isn't that much better than just kind of a solid background? That looks really cool so we can take our tool we can make a the image smaller if we want to see more of that image come through. Good slicked on this, there's our bounding box or bounding box is way over here. Command shift. It was like a little smaller could see more of the background graphic That way. Right now, I have my direct selection tool arm is shifting us around in the box. Kind of Get out. Better view. Okay, I think I'm happy with that. I like to see a little bit of sky. Um, I'm actually using the direct selection tools selecting this and shifting this up a little bit. Perfect. So I think with this spread very happy with how this is turning out. I'm actually going Teoh, toggle or w and highlight this. I'm gonna bring out that maroon on this side. Perfect. I can save it. And I'm ready for my next spread. 12. Clean spread design: for our next bread. Let's have a little bit of a visual break. We just had a ton of text on the last spread. Let's do something a little bit more creative s so I'm gonna go ahead and toggle or w here . The press w Let's go ahead and get off all over items here, so I'm gonna go back up the top. Grab all this scroll back down. Pace that so I can have access to it. Let's do some solid boxes into a solid box here. This is our visual break. People retire for here. This area, they would could play a round of blending modes. Skin. That seems to be nice. I'm just gonna make this a different color, sir. Eyedropper tool. Okay, so it's toggle or w kind of See what we have going on here so we could do a lot of different things. Let's do something with typography, so I'm actually gonna get our headline. Just gonna be this copy and paste. We'll see what we could do. Just like a simple phrase, you know? Yes. We just do our simple phrase. We're gonna make this text. We're gonna make this go to color and make it white. And I'm actually going to increase this bounding box a little bit. So we have a little more room for fund. I'm gonna highlight. Not gonna put a lot of space between the characters. I'm going back to our character panel. Gonna go to spacing and increase the spread a little bit. I'm gonna make the thought, Smalls could be a little bit more of an artistic panel. Keep going here, making it really dramatic here. Oops. It was decreasing the size of the bond and increasing the spacing between the characters. I'm gonna double click the corner. It's gonna hug. The bounding box is now gonna hug my fund. Exactly the size it iss gonna toggle. W kind of see what I have here. I really like that. That's perfect. Maybe this I want to make it a photo. Let's go ahead and bring in a photo here. I don't think we've used this one yet, so look how simple this is. This is not complicated. There's not a lot of fun. It's a nice visual break from all Whatever. Copy would go right here. This is beautiful. Maybe one a want ad a few little line. So let's add some lines. Let's add a short line here. Let's make it solid. Let's make it toggle. Let's make it this lighter color. We'll see what that looks like. And this is Phil. Any time you do a line, you want to make sure it's on stroke. So I have to do is just this little tiny little arrow right here. Go and select that and it's gonna make it a Phil's gonna make it a line. Let's make this even shorter and make it thicker. Gonna go appear and change the size they would go I got a copy and paste that bring this underneath in this line just kind of really helps accentuate the font here. I'm going to select all of these objects and I hold down shift when I select objects because I can select multiple objects. I want to center align these two. So I'm gonna go up here to center alignment. Click on it once and now it's perfectly center aligned. Actually, Consider select this background box and do the same thing. Center. Align everything. There we go. Perfect. So if I want to maybe bring this down a notch. This is I'm just going to do some. I'm all in here. Make some adjustments. Perfect. Beautiful. Simple. This is your visual breaks. Bread. Maybe the next spread, We do a little bit more text or copy, but this is nice and simple. 13. Text wrap at an angle: it's hard to believe that we're already on our last spread of 12 page flip book, a Zaken see kind of right here we have our first spread. Second spread. Third spread forth spread. Where did we going to do for the last spread? We had a nice, simple clean spread in the last one. Let's go ahead and or have play around with some thought a little bit and have some more copy. Let's go ahead and copy kind of something we've already have that we like. What's this? Paste it in and start to play with it. Ah, what's kind of play with it over here in this area. So let's kind of play with the horizontal or the diagonal line that we had here are really like this already. So let's just select the object copy and you noticed how much I love to copy and paste. It's got and shipped this over here. I wanna try to see if I can let me actually, right click and a lot range or send this to the back. It's a background element. What I want to do is I want to, uh, do some more text wrappings. So Let's select this object and go to text wrap my text drop boxes already open. I'm gonna do wrap around object shape. Okay, so this is gonna have a mess with my headline here. So wonder if I do a headline over here and have the actual copy over here. So let's add a little bit more padding here. Well, more space between the object and the wrapping. And let's delete this box and let's see what kind of text wrapping we can come up with here . I'm just playing around with the bounding box. I wonder was created even more copy. Let's create a space. That's probably enough right there. It's bring this even closer. It more of, ah, rap. That's pretty neat. So you could do some neat things with text rap. I wonder if I, wow, puts like this object even more padding between it. Then let's drag this over about what are you waiting for? And so I typed. See my bounding box. Any text that goes past the bounding box, it just disappears. So just go ahead and expand your bounding box until it comes back selected. Always go ahead. I'm here. My character panel to reduce the spacing between the lines. Here we go. What are you waiting for? They would go that hugs nicely with that arranged this. See, it's kind of move this over a little bit more, but I don't want that to go that way. It's double click on this box, so we don't accidentally touch it. And so we could play around this angle a little bit more. They would go. I like that right there. Let's make that a little bigger. Perfect. Put a line break there. I wonder if we can manly add now and then. I kind of like it left. Aligned right there. Let's play around with this object a little bit. It's going delete that object. Actually, let's create a different shape, because why not? It's our last panel. Uh, let's create a little bit bigger oven angle like right. Oops, right there. Let's do our text rap. Add some spacing and breathing room. Go and drag that photo that we were just using. Actually new do a new photo. Don't we have about this one right here? Select it fitting but different proportionately. There we go. I'm kind of liking how that's looking and I wonder if we can actually create a box here. We're gonna right clicks and that to the back. A range in the back. Let's make this blue. Let's go ahead and toggle or w go back to our colors here. Don't go and copy and paste these down here in this panel, you can have access to those. Select our color. I dropped Tool. Let's do this Blue tattler w like that light. So there there's a little nicer balance there. Let's actually bring this down. I think we could probably use another line of text. Let's go back up. Let's grab a smaller. We actually already used that, Uh, kind of smaller is Go back up. This is good right here. Let's go and take this. Once you develop a couple of spreads, you'll be able to have a lot to sample from, so you don't have to sit there. Re created all the time. Let's go ahead and bring in this line like a little wider like that. A tiny bit smaller. I think this block of text needs some kind of headline to break it up and let's actually make this blue. Highlight it eyedropper tool booths. So I am happy with that for now, and it's time for a very last panel, which will be our back final panel. 14. Back and final page: So we're on our final page. Your panel? That's got to be the back. If this is gonna be a printed flip book, this would be the very back page worth. This was a digital. This would be your called action page, Your very last page the the reader would be able to see this is where we pitched what we want to pitch. Those are called action. So let's figure out we want to do a really simple page. I love how this one looks actually Goto. Just select all this and copy and paste it and move From there. We use blue on this page. Let's shake it up and do kind of our maroon color. Um, so let's do this. Say, let's course number. This is actual. This has a copywriter. Yeah, let's do this on my Texas disappearing. My bounding box needs to be expanded. There it is, But it's to this. This is our little motivation called action. It was select all. I'm going to make sure this is ah, aligned to the center. All that's nicely aligned. It doesn't look aligned, does it? Let's go ahead and double click this and I think I know why? Because this is left alignment. So let's ah, center a line. There we go. Okay, so we're gonna need to send them somewhere. We need to send him to our website. We've been doing that throughout, so let's go ahead and go to our master page, which is right up here. Go and sample this and go back down to our back panel and copy and paste. This is a website. We wouldn't really make this big. Now, this is our big called action. That would make this much bigger right here. Let's do this well with the sales. Make it smaller. And they've been seeing it throughout the whole flip books. Maybe they wouldn't get away with making it smaller. DoubleClick's bounding box. Make it nice. Let's select all this and center. Align it right here. Boom. So I think we need some kind of graphic, so let me see what we can drag in. I think I downloaded a final photo here. This is perfect. So I'm gonna go ahead and copy and paste this box here so I could drag my photo into this one. Boom could right click fitting. We've been doing this throughout the whole Siri's. Okay, so now I have my background color and I have my photo. Let's do another blending mode. Let's set this blending mode is gonna be in effects. Dr. My effects panel like it bigger and I'm gonna do live in ossa t There we go. And I'm going to feather this a little bit because this background is really harsh and dark , and I'm gonna lighten it on a great way to do that is to feather. That's also gonna be in the effects panel. And it's gonna be Let's do directional feather because I don't want a feather it all the way around on all the edges. I want to do a directional feather. I just want to feather it from the top. So this is how directional feather works. Let's do the top. Let's increase it. And you kind of see what happens. See how it's feathering from the top. You can feather from the bottom to little bit do from the edges, but maybe not as much you can add, and always to it, and have it be grainy choke. You can kind of play around some options here. You could also do a basic feather, which is gonna feather all the way around on all edges just like this. That actually might work the best. There we go. Perfect. Okay, so now I'm going to send this, uh, actually gonna go ahead and select the back around solid color and my photo by just dragging like that, I'm gonna send us all of the back because we want our font to be in the front. Let's go and select our, uh, This is work. It's a little tricky. I have two different layers. I have my photo in my background, solid color. I can actually select those two layers, and I'm gonna group them. So I'm going to right click and group those layers of what's great about that is now they're linked. I don't have these two separate layers anymore. So now when I want to kind of drag and select, I would just like this far right here, but I don't want us like this photo. Now you just hold down shift and just un select that. Now I have my father selected. I'm gonna ship this up a little bit. Perfect. So let's kind of see what if I did this Ones like that, of course you could dis manually select objects. Or I could select these three and group it. So now I can to shift this around. That's probably even easier. So I love grouping things because you don't have to sit there and new things individually in group them and with them around. So I want to make sure everything center of a selected all center line. I hope I need to group these two objects, don't I? What's group kind of shifted around? I don't want to cover her arms. Perfect. Ship this down a little bit. I kind of like her smaller. That has a nice visual effect to it. So I wonder if I can reduce the transparency of this a little bit. I need a new group these don't I? So I can access just this photo layer. I'm gonna reduce the transparency just a little bit more right there. And I am officially done with this book. So let's go ahead and scroll up. See what we accomplished in this class. We have our back page. We have our different panels and here's our front cover. I will go to select save. And then the last video, we're gonna find out how to export this and ah ah, format where we can print it in a format where we can upload it to a flip book style, um, option online. 15. How to export your file: So now that I have had a few moments to kind of sit with the document, I decided to do some little last minute tweaks. And I actually added a different little script font to kind of shake up the design a little bit. Uh, not huge changes, but I just kind of added a little bit of a script plot. Kind of just randomly throughout the document. Uh, kind of show you where And I took away the line. I did a few things to kind of update it a little bit. Nothing major, but just wanted to kind of do some small things before we went ahead and exported it. So Okay, so now I'm ready to export this as a digital document. I'm gonna goto file. I didn't go to export, and I'm gonna goto adobe Pdf Interactive. And I'm gonna call this, uh, digital I'm gonna save. I'm gonna do all pages. I'm going to keep it and spreads for right now. Um, I'm but you could also do single pages. Although we kind of designed this with spreads of mind. We're gonna keep all of this default, so let's go ahead and export. There's oversight that's fine. We just did sample text for now. That is fine as well, and it's exporting. We should have our final digital PdF ready momentarily and also show you how to get it ready for print. If you want to send it to a printer and get it professionally made, let's go ahead and zoom out. I kind of see her document. Yes, this is our document and its digital. It's ready to be uploaded online. There's actually ah, I'll show you in the very final video, which will be the next video kind of a website that you can upload it to and actually be able to flip through the patient pages called issue. We can go ahead and trial that in the next video. But that's how you export a digital. PdF. So what we're gonna do now is a sense publish online. You can also do that on the newest go ahead and, uh, publish online that way. But I like to export as a PdF. Let's go to file. This is what we're gonna do If you wanna have this sent to a printer and print it as a physical flip book. Ah, you want to keep in mind what's called Bleed. So I'm gonna go ahead and toggle the W because you can see everything in the outboard art board. So you see the difference between this This is our are the end of our art board. That's what's gonna finally be cut. And, uh, you'll see it in the final printed document. If I press W, you're going to see this little space, this little red line, that indicates a bleed line, and you want to make sure all photos and backgrounds extend past that blade line. That's what's gonna be trimmed by the professional printer. So that's good to have that little bit of extra space that they require. So I just like to go through each. I just toggle the W, and I make sure everything extends outside to this red line. Um, so let's go ahead and select. I need to go back up to my master pages, and I need to make sure this extends out to my line. That will change, since that's a master page that will change it on all these other documents as well. So that's already extended outwards, and I have a habit of already doing this when I designed so that I don't have to do much after I'm done designing have already extended everything to that line. This is white. It doesn't matter. It's only solid. Colors are foot photography. So this photo needs to be dragged out here. Okay, Miss. Select. Ah, the next object below. Believe there's a background photo that also background solid killer that needs to be. And it's a simple is that you go around, make sure everything is this extended out to that red line that will be trimmed in the final print process. Some photos won't extend out, and you just have to make them a little bit bigger so that they extend out to the bleed. There we go. All right. So just I think we have one more to do. Okay, so now we're ready to export. It's going toggle the w Everything is out. The bleed file we're going to export. But instead of doing interactive, we're gonna do print. Are we gonna title this print? And we're going to do this is how printers like it. We're gonna do press quality, and we're going to do pages instead of spreads. They like to see individual pages were you click on pages instead of spreads, and then we're gonna go down toe marks and lead, and we're gonna add 18 of an inch, bleed around all the edges, and the printer can tell you how much bleed they need. We'll tell you what to put in this this box. Then I just click on crop marks. They click on Leave Marks to Doesn't Matter. Export it and it's gonna export as a PdF whenever it's done exporting and will show me the PdF and I can show what the crop marks and everything looked like. Uh, when that's done, uploading what safe? It's uploaded to the desktop. Yet I think it's still doing it. I'll show that in the next video. 16. How to export your file part 2: once we exported the pdf for print with crop marks. This is what the final document will look like. Uh, eight, It's single pages, so you don't see the spreads anymore, and you see the crop marks as well. You just double check each page and you make sure everything looks ready to go. There's the back final page with the blade marks, and there you go. We have a digital version and we have a print version as well. And that's how you do a flip book and in design. Thank you. 17. the Website I use to create a magazine style flipbook: So I want to show you one last website before we go. This is called Issue I s S u You. And it's a website where you can load your pdf and will create a flip book, Digital flip book style. So this is the file I just uploaded that we created and probably less than an hour, and I'm just gonna go ahead and flip through it. It's got a kind of a nice flip animation, just like flipping through ah magazine. This is what we just did. What's great about this. You couldn't make this full screen and people can read it or you could actually embed it so you can embedded a website and you can also share it on social media. So it's kind of a neat way to have your flip book. If you really don't want to get it printed, gonna have a digital version. You could still have a magazine style. So I just want to show you that website up. Debatable. When you upload your pdf, make sure when you're in and design and you export um do the digital, which is interactive, and make sure you do single pages for this website, so you just want to make sure it's on. This is spreads. You would make sure it's on pages and then exported and uploaded and you're ready to go.
