Project Description

Make a laser cut wood brooch!

Now that you have seen the basics, from sketch to completion, it's your turn!

  • Decide what word or simple design you want to bring to life
  • Sketch out a blueprint, so you know what you want deeply etched, any lines, and the basic cut out shape.
  • Illustrate your idea in Adobe Illustrator
  • Finalize your design and get it prepped for the laser cutter, by referencing your blueprint and using the p1 illustrator template (download yours in class files on the right) that includes the laser cutting lines cheat sheet!

Share your designs in any form —whether it's a sketch, a file or the final piece!

I'm so excited to see what you make! A few of my brooch creations are below!
