About This Class

Marketers are bombarded by an onslaught of emerging technologies and channels, and attention spans seem to keep getting shorter. One day, the press is touting how everyone will soon wear virtual reality headsets; the next day, it seems like everyone needs a blockchain strategy. This unit is designed to separate myth from fact and look at some of the more overarching trends, opportunities, and challenges that marketers encounter when delving into certain impactful technologies. This class will address five areas in particular:

  • Live video
  • 360-degree video and virtual reality
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Chatbots
  • Blockchain

This class is designed for marketers at organizations of any size who are curious about any or all of these technologies. Coming out of this, you will have a clear understanding of how these technologies apply to marketing, why marketers should care, what the benefits are, what elements are overhyped, what challenges you should watch out for, and examples of how these technologies are currently being used for marketing objectives. That sounds like a lot, but it will all be manageable and digestible.
