Welcome back in this video, I'm going to introduce you in my Web development three step process. In every Web development project, I use the same process. In my opinion, it's very, very important to have a system to use a fixed process so you don't have to come up with ideas, what to do or what's next. If you have a fixed process stander process, you know what's The first step was the next one until the last, the very last step. So let's take a look about these three steps. The 1st 1 is the website requirement analysis. In this step, we do all the talking with our client. We talk about goals. We talk about the client goals. What does he want to achieve by doing this website? We analyze the websites visitors goals. When a visitor is entering the website, what does he or she want to achieve? Why is the visit or entering our website? And generally we want to get all the requirements from our client so we can fully 100% satisfy admit his needs. The next one is the website design. We start visualising, the main picture off the website in this step, it's good to have our clients opinion about the visualization from the color to lay out toe the modules. We're gonna use him in this course and many other things that we're going to see. How are all the requirements? The requirement that we got in the first step are going to be actually on our website. How will they look like? We'll talk more about them when we get into the second step and finally the third step, it's the actual development. In the third step, we're gonna take all the previous things that we have done and we'll start putting them into our website will do the actual development. 3. Chapter's Indroduction: Hello everyone. Welcome back. As I already told you, the first step is the website requirement analysis here. We're going to start talking about golds number one website goals. Here is where we took. Why do we want to achieve by creating this website, we're gonna set every goal we want to meet visitors Goals next one Visitors goals, as I already have told you, is what we believe that our visitors want when they entering the website. Next one. Special requirements. We may have some special requirements from our client. We have to take them very seriously. Fourth, it's the main Manu the basic options. But a visitor will have when he will enter our website. We're going to see how this basic options how this main menu it's built. What options should we have there? And finally, some general things, this general things I are usually based on the niche. So if, for example, you have been building hotel websites like the one will build here, you know that there are some general things that your client may not tell you anything about it, but you know, or you should know that it's good to have them in order to convert better. We're gonna talk about them on the fifth video off this Siri's. So that being said, let's go into our first course off this chapter. See you on the next video. 4. How to set Website's Goals: Hello everyone welcoming the first course off this very first step analyzing and setting website goals. Before we start analyzing and setting our hotel website goals, we first need to understand what's a website goal? Okay. A website goal is the goal that our client, the hotel owner or manager wants to achieve with the website. If you understand this, you will understand how important it is because is the actual why he needs this website knowing actually why he needs a website like this. It's gonna be to your benefit when you go talk to the next hotel owner or manager. You can use this. Why? To get your next clients especially if you're focusing on a certain niche like the hotel websites. I'm gonna teach you here. So if you focus on Lee on the hotel websites after talking with two or three clients, you will understand why they need a website what exactly they want to achieve by building a website. So let's take an example here for our hotel website We're building here in this course. Could you think off some goals that our client may have? Let's say that we just talked with a client and he gave us some website goals. He won't achieve some things. I have put six goals, six website goals that he usually clients want for hotel websites, the very 1st 1 and the most important, it's to make reservations online. Special in big hotels. These days, every hotel owner and monitor have realised that without giving this ability to their visitors to make an online reservation, they cannot stand up in this competitive age. Almost every hotel owner or hotel manager that I meet, they want the online reservation system, Whether it's a complicated online system or just a simple contact form with a few more fields, we're going to see how we're going to implement this in our website. Next website goal is they want to create a customer list. They want to create a customer list because they don't want to be dependent on the booking sites like booking dot com or priv ago dot com hotels dot com and other websites like this they want inform their clients about the rates. You know that hotel rates are different from season to season. Sometimes they may have some discounts. Sometimes they may have some changes on their rates. They wanna have their clients informed above this. So that's another goal for the website. The clients must be informed through the website. Another information they want to give their clients and their partners is their availability, their rooms availability. It's very time consuming if you have to send to every client the current room availability and also inform all the partners about the current room availability so they know how many rooms you have to send you some more guests. So many hotel owners and hotel managers want to have an online booking system so they can inform about their availability immediately without having to send a separate email to every customer or to every partner. This is very, very important, especially for big hotels. Let have more than 10 rooms or another informational website goal is that clients? It would be nice to be informed about the hotel news. For example, if the hotel is taking part in an exhibition, it would be nice to have their clients informed. If the hotel wins an award lately, the the Trip Advisor Award seems to be very popular, and the sixth goal is to inform the clients. How can they contact or even help. They can come and visit the hotel if the client can contact three male, We gonna write our email there. If the client come visit the hotel before the guest off client visit the hotel, they want to know the exact location of the hotel. How they come there. Well, we're gonna talk about every goal in more details on later stages. This is a small list six very, very basic goals website goals that usually hotel owners and hotel managers want these goals to be achieved by the website. These six schools are the actual reason why they create a website for their hotel. So by knowing this, you know exactly how to talk to them and what to offer them. I'll be very happy to help you find your own website goals. If you're in in a different niche, let's say, for example, if you're creating a website for a shoe store or for a coffee shop, I'll be very glad to help you contact me through the four room. I'll be talking with everyone on one on one. I'll be very happy if I can help you. Thank you and see you on the next video 5. How to set Visitor's Goals: Hello again. Welcome. In the second course on the first step in this course, we're gonna analyze and we'll set our visitors goals. But before that, we have to know exactly what are the visitors goals. Visitors goals are the goals that our website visitors I want to complete when they're visiting our website. This actually is the big why they're visiting the website. By knowing exactly why they're visiting our website, we can make more conventions. The conversion is the number of visitors that are visiting our website to become our clients, to buy some of our products services or to do whatever we want to do. Or now we're website and how exactly we can use this tool. We can use it because if we have a list with our visitors goals starting from the most important, we know exactly where to put our promotions on the website. Our main Manu on the website. Our contact information on our website etcetera. I'm going to show you in a minute. What? I mean Anything off some visitors goals for a hotel website Here is a list. Do they seem familiar? Off course they seem familiar. They're pretty much the same with the websites goals. So let's see one by one. Visitors visiting our website. I want to make a non online reservation, maybe the 2nd 1 They want to see more details about the hotel before making a reservation, maybe, or before contacting us. They want to be informed about the hotel rates. They want to be informed about some news, maybe and last. But sure, not least, they want to contact the owner. So these goals are pretty much the same with our websites goals. Okay, so now what's next? After knowing this, our goal as a Web developer is the place. Websites, goals and visitors goals into our website. How can we do this? Let's see an example as a visitor's goal that they want to make more reservations online. The same is as a website gold that we want more reservations online. But here is the difference between those two. In order to achieve the websites goal, we have to create an online reservation system. In order to achieve our visitors goal, we have just to place a big bottom that can fulfill this need a new online reservation bottle, you understand? What's the difference between the website goal and the visitor goal. I'm going to explain this again In the Websites goal, we have to develop a reservation system for the online reservations to be made in orderto achieve the visitors goal. We just have them to get a big online reservation. Batam. We're going to see all website and visitors goals one by one. So don't worry right now how we're gonna implement them in our website. If you have any questions about your website If you're building a different niche website, I will be very happy to help You don't hesitate to send me on the message right in our forum. Contact me in every way. Thank you. See you in the next video. 6. Main Menu Options: Hello again. Welcome in the fourth course off the first step in this course, we're going to talk about the main Manu with users options. So what exactly is this main menu in a website? The main Manu is the basic navigation for every website. These are the options that a user will see whenever a visitor want to go in a certain section off, the website will try to find the basic maneuver the main Manu and click on the options that will give them that's way. It's a good idea trying to achieve the visitors goals in this navigation. We have created our list. We know our visitors gold so we can build our main Manu based on that. Of course, not all options, but we'll see what we can implement in our Manu. Here are the visitors goals that we saw in the previous course. All these six are the top goals for a visitor when entering a hotel website. Usually a visitor want to make a reservation online or want to see some more details about the hotel. I want to be informed about the rates, the availability or some news and last want to contact the owner or the manager of the hotel. So, based on these goals, were gonna create our basic navigation. Our main menu. The first option is gonna be a home page. Almost every website has a home page. Everyone is familiar with the home page. Whenever they feel they're lost in a website, they always know that returning to the home page, we'll get them out of this labyrinth system. So it's always good to have a home page. And in this homepage we're gonna place links that can lead toe any sub page off our website . We're going to see more details on the development section on third step next option rooms in this section, we're going to show the hotel's rooms to our visitors. Many visitors want to see all types of rooms with their rates so they can make a reservation. It's always a good idea to show them exactly what you have, so you don't have any misunderstandings later restaurant. It's always good to inform your visitors if you have a restaurant or generally, if you are offering them a way to eat, it's very important, and almost every visitor asks before making an online reservation you have any way that I can cook or I can eat in your hotel. It's one of the most common questions I get. Three male before someone make a decision to book a room next one, services were gonna place a Manu that when the visitors will click there, will see the hotel services free and paid services. This menu, as well as the 3rd 1 of the restaurant, are fulfilling the need for more information. The visitor wanted no more information about the hotel before booking before making a reservation. So all of that lead US toe online reservation option. Okay, some of you now may ask why you put as 1/5 Manu the only reservation, while it's the number one demand number one goal off both hotel owner and the visitor. Well, as I said previously, before making an online reservation, a visitor wants to know about the rooms, how they look like to see some photos to see the raids. The visitor also want to know about the services that the hotel offers and then make a new airline reservation. Then, after knowing all this, he will make the decision to book a room the next one is the location off the hotel. It's very important to have the exact location of the hotel on the map. Many visitors used the GPS system, so they want to know the longitude in the altitude off the hotels location so they can insert it in their GPS and they know exactly where your hotel is. You have to provide this information. This also will save you a lot of trouble by calling. Where exactly is the location of the hotel? It's 100 meters there. 100 meters left. 100 minutes, right? No, no, it's on that location Exactly. To get out through the map. The next menu. It's a photo gallery menu. Now we're gonna use some photos from our rooms were going you some photos from our restaurant. We're gonna use a lot off photos here that the visitor may find in other places too. But we want a photo gallery option because everyone who wants to see photos will click this one. They don't know if the room's section has photos, but they are sure that this section has Father. So they will click on this one. They may both have the same photos, the room section and the photo gallery section. But they know that here, by clicking this menu, the photo gallery Manu, I will see 40 hours, and the last one is the Contact US menu. In this, Manu will have a small map showing application again and our contact details on email. A phone number, maybe a contact form will see more details about this on the development step. I have a tip here for you. It's good to use more keywords sometimes, maybe for the same destination. What do I mean by that? Looking our main Manu. You will see that a number two. We have the rooms section and number five. We have the or Lent reservation. As I'm going to show you in the development section. Both off these my news lead the exact same sub page because in the sub page, where everybody can see, the rooms can immediately make the online reservation. But we're giving them as two options here. Why we're doing that. As I mentioned earlier, it's nice to have more keyword options because if we didn't have the online reservation and had only the rooms section, everybody who enters our website will see the rooms, but if you want to make an online reservation, you don't know where he should click. So we don't make the visitor feel this way that he don't know where to go in order to achieve something, achieve one of his goals. The same is happening if we don't have the rooms section. If someone wanted to take a look at the rooms first before making a booking decision where he should click, he don't know again. So although there pointing in the same sub page, it's good to have us two options. We could do the same thing with the location and the Contact US section. We could put in the location section on email and the phone. So both men use the five location in the seven Contact US Point in the same exactly sub page. But they are two different options for the visitor. So always keep in mind that it is good to use more keywords, maybe for the same destination. Sometimes, as long as these keywords stand for our visitors gold we need we have to make it obvious for them where exactly they should click in order to achieve their goals. I hope it's really clear for you. And if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me through private messages through forums. I'll be glad to help you. As always, Let's go to our next course. Thank you. 7. General Things to do: hello and welcome in the fifth course here. In this course, we're gonna talk about some general things that we need to do as Web developers, even though that our client may not request these things. It's always a good toe over deliver. Always try to over deliver, give more value even though you're not asked to give. So actually, some general things to do are different based on the business type. For example, there are some general things to do for businesses that sell shoes or general for e commerce websites. There are some general things to do for hotel websites. We're going to see here some of them. There are some general things to do for riel estate websites. Let's see an example for a different business on a hotel so you can understand exactly what I mean. Let's say that we want to build a rial estate website. It's good to place a loan calculator. It's gonna help the buyer, the visitor, to estimate his loan. If you want to buy something, another example. When you are selling international, sometimes it's good to offer a currency converter so they know exactly how much they have to pay based on their currency. The visitors. I mean another example is when you build any shop n e commerce website, it's good to know that having a car, a shopping cart, always visible to visit her it's a good thing even though your client may not ask for it, at least is good from our side as website developers to offer this option. Our plan, In my opinion, it's very important to know exactly what we're gonna need for every type off website. That's why I always prepared to make focus like the one I'm doing here right now. I focus on hotel websites. I know exactly what they want. After having a focus like this, I know exactly what visitors want from a hotel website. I know exactly what the hotel owner on the manager wants to achieve through the website. I know exactly what things would help the visitor to become a customer because all these things convert more visitors to clients whenever you have no idea. What are those general things That would be it would be nice to have them on your website. Always analyze your competitors website. It's going to give you some nice ideas so you can use them immediately. Of course, you can get more ideas by asking the websites visitor the actual clients off your client. If you're developing a website for ah shoe selling store, it's a nice idea to ask a few customers off this store. What exactly would you like to see on the website off our star? What exactly are you seeking or asking when you entering the store? It's always a good idea to make a good analysis. What are the basic things that the visitors want when they entering a web site based on the website type on our type on our hotel website? What are those general things that we should know? It's nice to have a small place in your website. With the weather forecast so cast over, the visitor will be informed about the weather in your place. It's very important for a hotel to have a section that will explain how a visitor can visit the hotel. For example, we've built a website for a hotel in Fassel's. It's a small island near Kavala in Greece. It's very important to inform the visitors that are coming for many countries all over the Europe or all over the world. It's important to know that there are two airports. One, it's near Kavala and the other ones in Thessaloniki. It's also very important next one to inform them about the bus on the ferryboat schedule. As I told you in the previous example, we built a website for a hotel in a small island. The only way to visit this island is through a ferry boat. Off course. People want to know this. What are the schedule off this? Very bold so they can make their own program. What are the prices for this one? And was the bus schedule in the island? The hotel owner may not ask you to provide this information, but it's very good to provide them to your visitor. And it's always good toe over. Deliver value, give more value, give more value to your visitors. Give more value to your client, the hotel owner or the manager. Another important thing is the things to do or thinks the visit. In the island, you can do a small section that you can present 12356 things that a visitor can do on the island or that thinks conveys it. A visitor in the island in the last one is that the site should be multi language. It's very nice for everyone to read the details, to read the information in his or her own language. They feel good about this, and they're more comfortable off making a booking decision. Those five things were going to implement in our hotel website. If you're developing a different type of website, I'll be very glad to help you to see the different thinks general things that you should do on your website. See you on the next course. Thank you. 8. Chapter's Introduction: Hello, everyone. Here we are again. We're going to the next type off. Step two. In this step, we're going to do all the website design. We're gonna visualize the main picture, how well our website look like. Based on all the courses that we have seen until now, we're gonna put them into a certain style into a certain template and we're gonna work with them as you remember the first That process is this one, and we're gonna talk about the 2nd 1 right now. Website designed visualizing the main picture. The course is we're going to see in this step are the following how to choose your colors, the website colors, clients, special requirements, some special requirements or some information that you have gathered from the previous step . How we're gonna implement them, how we're gonna put them into our website, how we're going to choose our template because it's very important in Julia to choose the right template not only in junior, actually, in every CMS system it's very important to start with a correct template. When we reach on our third course, we're going to see why it's important. On the fourth of video, we're going to see how we can implement how we can design our general things to do that we saw on the previous step. So after that we can start immediately. Let's go to our first video off the second step. 9. How to Choose Colors: Hello, everyone. Welcome. In the first course off our second step, the website designed in this video, I'm gonna give you some tips on what to look for before choosing the right color for every website. Number one tip. Use a natural palette of colors when you are using an unnatural color causes some I fatigue and these chases the visitors away from your website and definitely you don't want to do that. So number one use a natural palette of colors number to create a strong contrast between the background and the text. I have some examples for you presenting some callers that match as a background and text, while some others are not very easy to read. You see here the purple text and shape on a very light blue background. You can read it easily seems to be nice. The bottom one with the with the green blue collar and a gray background. It's not us effective as we would like to. For example, if you use something like this in your website, not only visitors won't read this. They may not even seed, but even if they see it, if you use it on large text they cannot read it. It's gonna cause I fatigue. I have a few more colors to see. Blue with yellow and the orange with yellow, the black on the very light pink and the green on the red. Okay, but how you will be able to choose those colors here is the color will contrast. It's a nice to combine opposite colors, and it's not very effective when you combine colors that are next to each other. So, for example, it's very nice to use yellow with blue or yellow with violet. It's not so effective to use orange on a red background or the opposite. Read text on orange background tip number three. Select an average off three different colors, and he used them consistently throughout the website. I am sure that you have noticed on every website, especially on some famous websites, like the Facebook or you. To me. Here you see some colors, and they use them everywhere on you. Today, me, for example, primary colors used on the whole website. It's green wise and black. Those three you don't see any other color. Same with Facebook. You see the blue, white and black. You can choose which three colors you were gonna use on the website. Your building next step is you make sure that you take into account people with visual disabilities. This means that make sure your text is quite big. Bacon is easily read. You don't mess with colors so they can be able to read and generally everything you use on your website. It's big enough and clear for everyone to read. Okay, so after those tapes, let's see one of my favorite topics the colors and their meanings. Let's start with red. What's read all about red is about energy, passion, excitement. Power read also implies aggression and danger, so you should be careful where you use the red color. Red color, usually on the website is used to show a sale. Big sale, 80% sales, for example, and you see a box or a circle that his background is red. Red is used on some advertising banners when you want to show some passion, some energy, some loving there some excitement. But generally it's a color that it needs to be treated carefully. Next one will see the blue. You see the difference. I have created the presentation in this style, so you can feel it because colors are feelings at the blue is for coolness, spirituality, freedom, patience, loyalty, peace, trustworthiness. But in some cases it can imply sadness and depression. Hotel websites used a lot of blue. They want to get this feeling, the freedom, feeling, the peace, the loyalty, the spirituality. Next one is the yellow for yellow can be used when we want to feel some joy, some brightness, some happiness. Optimism. Where do you think the yellow color could be used in a website or in which type of website could be used waiting for your answers? Well, now it's green. Does this remind you something? Okay. Green is for life. Natural nous arrest, fullness, health, wealth, prosperity. In some certain contexts, it can imply decay and toxicity generally in what types of websites, we could use the green color as our primary color, or in what way we can use the good and cooler in a website in a general website waiting for your answers. The orange color is for friendliness, warmth, approachability, energy, playfulness and courage. It's generally a great color and one of my best colors. I really like orange as a primary color in many websites. Next one, violet violet is for wisdom, sophistication, elegance and celebration. Could you think a good use of violet in the website or in the website? Type waiting for your answer. Next one is the old time classic white. The white stands for purity, cleanliness, youth, freshness piece. I always use a lot of white in my websites. I love it. I love the white, a good combination off a primary color, a white on black. I think, in my opinion, that it's the magic combination right now. Here we are, the black, the old classic black that it's sense for power, elegance, secrecy, mystery. There are some business types, some website types that I think they couldn't be in another color than black. They should be black. Could you think off some of these businesses? If you had to build any Commerz? Let it selling men watches. I think that the black should be the primary caller. Did you think of some other website types that black should be the primary color, or what other uses we could have for black color? Next one is Grey Grace for security, maturity, reliability. If you see any security system website. You'll see a lot of grain there. But you will also see a lot of gray in some messages that they want to imply security for a certain product. Some promotional messages. Can you think off an industry that it's using a lot off messages like this? Next one is the pink pink stands for romance and is used in Web sites that usually have women as they target group. I'm sure you can think a lot of websites that use pink off their primary color. Next one, the brown stands for comfort, strength, stability, credibility. A lot of construction companies use the brand caller as a primary color or throughout their website. Okay, that said about the colors you should choose wisely what colors you are going to use on your own website. You can follow any off my tips, or you can ignore them all. It's up to you on what colors you should choose on your next business website that you're gonna build. Let's go to our next lesson. Thank you very much for watching 10. Requirements: Hello, everyone. Welcome. In our second course off this second step in this course, we're gonna talk about our plans, Special requirements Many times. Despite of the website we're developing, your client may have some special requirements that he wants you to include in the website . Of course, you're gonna take very seriously this requirements. So let's see a few examples about the hotel websites. What I've heard from my clients. But they wanted what are the most common requirements? They have the 1st 1 and I think it's the most important. They want to show the A words, especially the Trip Advisor Award that has been very popular the last two years. Now I have a client that he is number one in all over the island 1000 silent here. Of course he existed this award to be included in his website in his newsletter, email in his business cards everywhere. He wanted to shout that they were the number one based on TripAdvisor users. Of course, in my opinion, it's very good to include every a word that the business has one or has taken place. It doesn't matter they want or not. Next. One, a lot off hotel owners or managers want to show their partners. I want to show that their partners with booking dot com or with hotels not come, for example, and through their website, they want to show their ratings if the reigning is high. Of course, I believe that this tactic is good, too, because it's a social proof. A social proof is like you're telling the website visitors, Look here. I have a nice hotel. A lot of people are saying this Another social proof is the testimonial. It's always good to include a few testimonials. What do people say about us? Or some reviews they have made for the hotel or for the place, or for everything that you won't include in the website that you want to promote on your website? So these three are the most common requirements I get from my client. Of course, these three wear special requirements the first time a client asked me. Now I am proposing my prospects to include those three methods, and I see that they're converting very well. So that's all for now. We'll see how well implement those three requirements in our website on the development step. Till then, see you on the next course 11. How to Choose Template: hello again and welcome in the third course off the second step. How the choose a template in every CMS system is very important to choose the right template. If you don't wanna mess with a lot of coding, customizing and stuff like that, so it's very important to know what to look for before choosing a template. So what should we look for before deciding what template to choose? Number one tip. Check the template colors if their match to your needs. As we said before on the color course, there are a lot off templates that offer a lot of variety of colors. You can change the colors very easily. You can customize them through the template settings, but there are some templates, especially the free templates. We're going to see a few examples later that they do not offer a lot of options, so you have to deal with some CSS coding, and that would be a problem if you're not familiar with CSS or holding. Generally, my second tip to you is to look for the template based on the kind off site you're developing. It's very important if you're developing a special website like a hotel website. Why not choosing a hotel template to develop the hotel website? Let's see a few examples. Could you imagine what kind of template this would be? I'm sure you guessed it. It's a news portal template. If you are developing a news portal, why not choose a template like this and starting toe Put your own content inside with some customization is of course. Could you tell what this template for? It's an electron ICS issue up template. If you are going to build any shop that you're gonna sell electron ICS, why not choosing a template like this and start customizing it? Could you imagine what kind of site is this? Yes, I'm sure. Your guest, right. It's a travel website template. What about this? It's a really estate template. So if you are so, if you are developing a really estate website, why not choosing an appropriate template? A really estate template? Not this particular. Of course. There hundreds off these templates, you can choose the one that suits more in your needs that you like the most. And now some of you may ask why to choose a real estate template. Why not choose just a general template and start building on this. Okay, you can do that. You can choose a general template and start developing your website there. But there are two advantages when you start from a ready made template that it's for your business type. In this example for the real estate business, the 1st 1 is that you're gonna have some more features that you can't find in other templates. Why is that happening? Because the template developers have built everything that a really estate business will need in here. That's the 1st 1 And the 2nd 1 is that you get something semi ready for use. You have just to customize it and do it as you like. You don't have to build something from out of nothing at a scratch. You have something ready. You have a base to build on it and make it. Of course, as you wish, you can customize everything, everything in there. So if you wanna have those advantages, it's better to choose a template based on your business type on the business type. You're building the website for next step. The next step is to search your competition. It's very important to know everything about a business type before developing one. So, for example, if you want to develop a car rental business website and you're doing this for the first time, what do you think? That it's the easiest way to get the most information off course from your competition for your competitors? Go on Google, search there, rent a car, navigate through some websites, see their features. What are they selling? How they do it, what color they use, what selling techniques they use, how much text they use. If they have some special features, like do a rental online, anything. You can find anything in a competitors side in many competitors. Sites, actually. So, before making your final decision to choose your template, do a small research about your competitors. Search on their side. What do the offer? Wait, What do they have? How is their side layout? Search everything. Take your notes and you're gonna make later. The decision on what template to choose and how your website is going to be. The fourth tip is about the website. Functionality needs one off. Those functionalities is the layout. We're talking now about CMS Jumla. Like every other CMS has some positions you can use. This is the basic layout that you can use. These are the places that you can use in order to place images. Text your logo, your content, anything you wanna show to your visitors. You have to place it in one of those pretty defined positions Off course. You can create your own positions you never template. But assuming you don't wanna mess with coding, these are the positions you can use. This is your template layout. I have noticed that lately every template development company is trying to give the ability on the user to customize the layout from the back end from the administration panel so you don't have to mess with coding. But the majority of the templates don't give you the ability to do so. That's why you have to be careful when choosing the template. Choose right layout for your website, and the last tip is the template pricing. I always compare the prices. In my opinion, it's not worthy, giving about 100 euros for a template. While you can find pretty much the same template at 30 or 40 euros, you have to make your own search and compare the prices before deciding what template you should buy. Or maybe you should use a template from the free listing on The resource is you will find a few links with free templates and a few other links with some premium templates that I prefer and I have been using for many years now. So before choosing your own template, consider all those tips and let's proceed to our next course. Thank you. 12. Localhost - Install Local Server: Hello, everyone. Welcome to the development section. Before we start developing our website, we have first to install our server. We're going to work on local host on a later course. I'm gonna show you how you can upload your website in a really sever. But for now, we're gonna download a local server. Generally, I prefer working on local host on a local server before uploading my final website. The main reason I prefer this is because I can work even if I'm offline. So I can work literally from everywhere while I have my laptop with me. That's the main reason I prefer working on a local server. So if you haven't already done, this step is very important to do it, download a local server. If you have no idea which one to download, you can go to www dot Apache friends dot org's slash download dot html. We're going to download here. Example. Local server. Here, you can find exam for windows. For Lennox or for Mac. There are two options to download. Based on the page fever. June, you can download the top one so you can be sure that is going to work after you download the sump server, you just go next, next, next till it's finished. It's a very simple step to install it. What you're going to see when you finish this, you will see exam control panel again. If you have any problem and you can see this one, this control panel drop me a message and we'll do it together. After installing your lookout host, you should be able to see on your computer on your say. If you didn't change the directory, you should be able to see then spoiled files here on the exam folder. And I want to make something here before proceeding to our next step installation off Jumla . I'm gonna lower the browser. I want to make a short cut off the folder HD dogs on my desktop. I want to do this because we're using the HD Dogs folder very often. So with your right click pressed drug and drop here, create a shortcut. But now you're seeing it in Greek. You're gonna press this bottom here and you're gonna have a shortcut like this one. After creating the short cut on your computer, it shouldn't have all these folders. These are some projects that have been doing in your computer should have blessed folders and files here. But do not worry. That's normal. So after doing this step, let's proceed to our next step installing Jumla on local host. 13. Installing Joomla: Hello, everyone. In this step, we're going to make our first Djamila installation. I have the menu in Greek, but that's not a problem. And give on this project. Whatever name you want to just make sure that it don't include any space on the name. Repeat here at mean every time I work on local house, I use this user name and this passport at may not mean it's very easy to remember. And I don't need to make more difficult trying to remember what password I used in one of my 50 60 websites. I always use those when I upload. Of course. My website on Riel Server. I never used those details at the main user name and admin password. Never. Okay. After that click on next. We're gonna configure the database here. You'll see that the other basis? My Askri a lie. Install waiting for a few minutes. We're gonna have our first Jumla installation. It's pretty easy on this June television because I remember on some older versions of Julia , there were eight or nine Julia steps, so it's nice to know that they have made it on Lee. Two steps and an overview. It's not even three steps. Okay, you see a message here. Congratulations. Julia now is installed. Great. Press this battle here that says remove installation folder and we can access our our side . Now click on here site. Welcome in your first Djamila website. This is how every Jew mullah installation looks like when you don't have sample data or when you don't have a template installed on it. That's it. That's the basic user interface. And does you see the path is local host slash hotel slash If we want Teoh access the administration panel, we have to write local host slash hotel slash administrator enter. We have to write the user name. And the password, as you remember when we installed was at mean at Bean President Logan. Batam. And that's it. This sidebar is a small bar on your left or on the right, depending on the option you will have. This is a nice promotional sidebar or a very nice position to place the reservation module we're going to see later. You can choose whatever you want. I prefer on the left. So the sidebar with normal go to top icon. Okay, yes, the height front page content is an option. If we want not to show the articles on our front page, we don't want that option will choose the no. We will click on the No bottom, the background style. As I said in the design step, I love white. So we're going to choose the white as a background color. We don't need any background image for now, at least, but you can use some experiments here and do whatever you like. That's all for now. Let's click on, save bottom and see what have we done until now. After the save bottom, you will see a green message, says Stiles has successfully saved. Red with white. We're going to change it. I don't like red. Let's see the third style. Okay, front end Refresh. I said something like Green here. I don't like it. Ever the 4th 1 Save again. Refresh a blue, so it's very good. There's very nice blue or the faith refresh. Mm, That's the orange one. I think that's what I'm going to keep now. The orange one. We found our color. Our primary cooler, the brownish orange. Like the logo we found. We have our the ground color, the white, and we have set a few configurations about our template. Now you see a message here and notice notices are not to take serious. It doesn't matter. It's not a problem when you see a notice. This is the default warning system off Jumla and notice. It's not a problem when you see a narrower, then you should be very careful. And you should fix that immediately. A notice and know this isn't a problem. An actual problem. We're gonna disable this because we don't want our visitors to watch this notices. So Goto Administrator panel closed this gold A system global configuration. Click on the server tab on the error reporting. Choose non saving close. Go to front end refresh. Okay, the note is gone before going to the next course. I have a small tip for you here. If we want to check all our templates, position the layout. We have to go to our administration panel, choose extensions, template manager, click on the options menu and click enable on preview module positions saving close Now, if we go on our side, click on the U. R l and add the current line. Question Mark tp the call one. Hit the enter bottom and you will see all the positions off the current template. Now you know exactly where you can place a module. That's all for now. See you on the next course. 17. Weather Module: Hello, everyone. Welcome back in this course, we're going to talk about the weather module. How can we install the weather module so our visitors can see the weather prediction? In order to do that, we have to go to our administration panel. Click the extensions. Bratton, Extension manager Choose vile. We want to install the mod SP weather. It's a free extension, a free module that you can find on my resources. Folder shoes, open upload and install. Installing module was successful, so click on extensions. Module manager. You see the SP weather also, as you can see here, it's unpublished and there is no position set for this module. Click on this module and let's see the settings for this module. The 1st 1 is a city name. I'm gonna said Tassos here translated location you can set in a native language how it's called. Are you gonna leave it blank? You can choose to show whatever details you want, like city name, weather condition, humidity went condition forecast for how many days you want. You can choose whatever you want for this template. I'm gonna disable the forecast. I want only the current state, and I don't want the wind condition. Don't want to show it. Next one. We have to be careful for every module we have to see on the right. If we want to show the title, we should choose our position. The position here. If we scroll down, we can see all our templates Position if we choose another position from another template, the module is not going to be shown. So be careful on this one. You should choose your Karen template position here under I t the Lodge. We have the weather position. Click on this one. Status click on publish. The next thing is to check out my new assignment. Actually, where this module is going to be shown We wanted on all pages. After that saving close. Go to our front end press the F five Batam. And here we are. Congratulations, everyone Very well done for your first module on your first Juma website. Now you can experiment more about the other options that you can find here in the module, in the weather module as well as you can go to the official Junior Extensions directory extensions, Jumla dot org's If you click here and search for weather presenter. You can see a lot off modules. Maybe you'll find here another module that you like more than the one we're using. Generally, you will be going to use a lot this directory, every official Juma directory will. Every official Jumla extension will be uploaded here, so make sure that you keep this u R l and you're gonna use it very often. Search for modules that you want for extension that you want to use as you can see here. It says if it's for for June a 2.5 or for general three compatibility, it says if it's a module, if it's a free or paid download, everything you're gonna need s here. So after seeing the directory, the Extensions directory, let's move to our next course. 18. Contact Module: Hello again. Guys, Welcome back in this course, we're going to place a small contact field on the top right corner. Actually, we're gonna place a phone number that every visitor can call us in case off an emergency in case they want something. It's always good to have a contact field, a contact information, like a phone number in case often emergency in case someone needs an extra information for your property in case someone couldn't find something in your website in case someone want to make a reservation online. But he don't know how exactly he could do that. Always, always have contact information, and I personally prepare a phone number. So we're going to create a module that is showing a phone number with maybe a small message here. Okay, let's go up in a new tab with the hotel administration control panel. Click on extensions. Module manager. We're going to create a new module, a custom HTML module. This time we're gonna name it. Contact up. We're gonna hide the title and on the editor, we're gonna right a number. It's random. Of course. The owner of this number. Forgive me. I don't know if it's it could be a real number. Okay? And we could put a message here. It's all free or emergency call. Whatever you like. Next on the menu assignment were signed the module to be shown on every page. But on the module. Basic settings. We haven't said a position for this one. Click on the position. Go to our template. And let's see, when you see positions, you cannot be sure Where is every position? So let's go The front end on the your l and we're going to write. Question mark to pee equals one. And now we see all the positions I would like to place with HTML module in the position contact. So let's kill the back end and place it in position contact. We'll save. Okay, Successfully saved. Let's go in the front end. Delete the tip Asian one and hit the under. Okay, now I see the phone here. The phone number. I'm gonna give you a very small tip here. It would be very nice in front of this if there was a phone icon. So everybody could see what exactly is this number? Because by watching just a number says nothing to me. and it would be very nice to have a small telephone Aiken in front of it. How can we do this? We can do it with many ways. I'm gonna teach you one off the best ways to do this. On the editor, we scroll down and we pressed the Tuggle editor Batam. Now we see the cold. The HTML code, actually. And we're going to write something here. I write the small piece of code here so I can actually add a small icon. A small phone Heiken. As you can see here, let's Tuggle editor again. It's not showing on Editor, but it's showing on the front end. That's the important thing. Okay, now why I did it this way. I'm gonna show you another way how you can do it. And I'm gonna explain you Why the previous way is is the best way to do it. You can immediately insert any much you can find through indirect from Google. A phone icon uploaded here and just said it and just set the icon. The icon will be right here, but when the way I use here, we use it through CSS. It's a very popular way so the side will be as fast as possible. It's not any much right now. It's not used as an image is through CSS. Every time I changed my colors, this color will change too. So it's very nice to use this type off code. This type off icons on your website I have here a u R L for you where you can learn more about glee. Feikens. So you can use all of these codes here. Let's make a test. Icahn Heart Rename this for Mike. Unfold like on heart. Save it. You know the front end refresh and you see it changed and still having the same color as I were. Template. The orange color. Let's changes again to phone saving close. You can practice up with the goal. If I the cliff icons, you can use them as much as you like, And if you need any help, I'll be very glad to help you. Let's refresh our side and let's go to our next course. Thank you very much. 19. Main Menu: Hello again. Here we are, guys. In this course, we're going to see the main Manu. A nice position for our main. Manu obviously is here. And this inside those two orange lines, it's gonna be a great position. Let's go in the administration by now. You see the main manual module. It's on the position. Seven. This position was used by the previous template a general main menu. We're going to create two other men. Use one main Manu for the English language and one for the Greek one. But before doing that, we're gonna go at the extensions extension manager. We can choose a file and we're going to install the ice Mega Manu Unzip it Is that a click and install the play game and the module. Let's go and enable plug in. Click here on the status I can. Okay, now you see with a tick that's enabled. Let's go again into Maine, Manu and let's choose Main menu module position Main menu Start was published Everything as it is my new assignment on all pages, we've selected the main Manu like to save Go to our front end refresh. Okay, here it is. Our first Manu, It's the home. Okay, that's it for now. But what we have done here is were placed in a module over here, our main Manu. This Manu stands for both languages, Greek or English, but we want a separate Manu for every language, so that's what we're going to create right now. Click on the menus menu manager, and we're going to create a new My new title is Main. He and Main Manu in this menu is going to be our English menu, Saving you Main G R. You can give any title you want, but it's always good to keep a title that you will recognize later. Maybe you'll have a multi language site with seven or eight languages. It's good to give some nice descriptive name. Main Manu Jr Saving Close. Now click on the main Manu, the English one click on New. So we're going to create our first menu item. There's gonna be the home page on every menu item. We have to select what's gonna be what? Type off my new. It's gonna be just For now, we're gonna select articles, featured articles. We're gonna change this later on, but I just want to put I'm a new right now. Another important thing is that on the right side we have to make this as a default page for the English language. Saving close. You see a little flag here. This means that this Manu is the default for English. We're gonna do exactly the same for the Greek one. Click here. Choose made Manu Jr a new one given name out of key, which means basically home. Home page. This one is in Greek. We're going to select an item again. I'm going to select feature articles and what I'm gonna do here is gonna make it default for the Greek language. Saving close. You see, the Greeks like here, So we're done. We have done a nice job. But now I have only said the menus here, the English one and the Greek one on the front end. I have used one Manu. They have the same Manu the home. So what we gonna do about that? We have to do find two final steps in order to see our changes. We see only home. I cannot see Greek. Although I should be watching Greek menu here because we have l U. C It's for Greek extension for Greek, so it should be Haiti. Here in Greek. This is not happening because we have to set two different modules. Two different main menu modules, one for English and one for Greek. So let's go to extensions. Module manager. We're gonna rename this and name it main menu E N G. And said the language to English. We'll be needing the same menu so duplicated. Click here said the status to publish Change the name. Two Main menu G R. Select the main menu G R. Language. Greek saving close. I forgot to set on the main menu. English. I forgot to select the menu I'm going to use here. We'll go and select the main menu. English Saving close. Go to our front end with a refresh. I should be watching the Greek menu here. RPG, That's our Greek Manu. Now the second step after setting those two different modules, our second step is to have a more Jewell to show the flags. If I want to change the language here, how am I gonna do it? Go again in our administration extensions. Module manager. We're here. Create a new module We're gonna create a language switcher. Give a name, language. Select the position position, language from the lodge. Do not mess with anything else. My new assignment on all pages. Okay, Save. Now let's go on our front end. Look at five. Now you see two different flags that we can change language. Click on the English. We see that English menu click on the Greek. We see the Greek one. Remember that a multi language site in Djamila could be a little bit tricky. So a small recap here. Be careful. You need to set the menus. You need to have as many menus as many languages you have. The English language needs to have its own Manu here, the Greek language, its own Manu and the main Manu general main menu. The logic behind this general main menu is that if you haven't said somewhere a language, it's going to apply the main Manu. This one is the most important. So you could see the flags here. When you see the flags, it means that everything is okay. You have said everything okay, and the next part is that every new module that you're going to create now on every new module, every new category or every new article. You have to make it twice once for every language. For the purpose off this course, I'm going to use this ability in a few articles. Selectively. I'm not going to create the whole website in two languages as it should be. If it was to be sold, I'm gonna use it for demonstration purpose. So I'm gonna use this selectively. But you need to remember that everything that we create from now on, we should created twice every module. We should create it twice will be talking for this on a later courses. That's all for now. Enjoy your site. See you on the next course. Thank you. 20. Slideshow: Hello, everyone. Here we are again. In this course, we're going to place a nice slide show in our website. Generally, it's a great idea to have many beautiful pictures off your property. Every hotel website should have a lot of pictures, in my opinion. So we're gonna have a slide show here. A pretty big one with our best photos that we want to promote our business. So let's see how we're going to do this. Open the administration panel. Local host, hotel administrator. We have to log in. User name and password are mean at the mean. Okay, let's create our slideshow. The first thing we have to do is install the module that we're going to use. Go to extensions. Extension manager, click the choose file button. Go to the resource is file that I gave you and unzip the ice slide show. Unzip it here. Double click on the folder. Sure. The mod slideshow open, then upload and installed. Okay. It has been successfully installed. If we want configure it, we should go to extensions. Module manager. We manage it through module manager because it's a module. If it was a plug in, we should go into plugging manager. If it wasn't template, we should go to template Manager. And if it was a language, we should go to language manager. So here we have. It's unpublished. It has no position, and it's not showing on any page. Before we configure this module, we have to do another step first because the certain module inserts the much is from articles we have to create our articles. First, the articles will be our slides. Actually, we can create the articles from the article manager. But before doing that, remember that it's a nice idea whenever you want to create a category off articles as we want to create. Now we want to create some articles for our slideshow only for this purpose. It's always a good idea to create a category. Categories are very helpful, especially when you're having a lot of articles. Ah, lot off content inside your website. So here we're going to create our first category click on you. We're going to give a name slideshow. No need for any description, parents tags or anything else. Status is published saving close. Okay, now that we have created our category, let's go and take a Look at the media manager. Click on content Media Manager. This is where we keep all our images so we can have them organized in one place. Let's create a new folder. Name this folder. Slideshow, create folder. Okay, let's click on this folder. You see, it's empty. Now, let's upload some pictures. Here, click the upload button. Choose files on the resource is folder. I have included some images only for demonstration purpose. You cannot use these images. So double click on sample data slideshow. And here you can see for images that we're going to use. Select all of them. Choose the open. Start, upload. Okay. Now we have uploaded our images on our media manager slideshow folder. Okay, we're done with that too. Let's go. One app. Okay. We have created a category from the category manager that says slideshow, we have created a folder that we uploaded all of our images that we want to use in our slideshow. Now, the last step is to go to article manager. You see a blank screen. There are no articles right now here. So we're gonna create our first articles here. Click on new. Let's create our first slide off our slideshow. First light is gonna be slide. One category would be the slide show that we created a minute ago. And as a content here on our slide, we're going to choose the much we uploaded one of the images that we uploaded previously. You see why we created a category first and then uploaded our images on the folder? Choose images slideshow a much one insert. Here we have our first slide with the same way we're gonna create three more slides. So click on saving you create the slide to choose category slideshow and the U much here, but, um, to insert our next you much for our slide number two ceva nu The same for the slide number three category slideshow a much slideshow, a much number three inserted ceva nu, Let's create our slide number four category slideshow and as a content here, choose image slideshow you much for insert if slide show you much for insert now before saving You see that there are a lot off saving options here. The 1st 1 is the save option. What you do with this is when you click. Every change you have made is gonna be saved, but it will keep the same screen here. It won't close. The next one is the saving close. But, um, that means that it's going to save everything changes you made, and it's gonna close from this is gonna take you to the article manager saving you as it says. It's going to say every change that you have made and it's gonna create a new article. Save us copy is going to create two articles exactly the same. The one will be the copy the versions battle. We're going to keep you informed about the changes and the close battle. There is always the help battle if you find something difficult. If you don't know what to do, you can choose the help button to help you find out how you can write an article or how you can create a new category, etcetera. But let's see, we have created a new category. We named it Slide show. We created a new folder named its Light Show and uploaded all our images that we want to you. We also created our slides four slides for now. You can, of course, use your own images or your own imagination for the slides. You can create them as you want, but let's see what changes happened here. Go to the front end, press the A five to refresh the website. I don't see any changes. Do you know why? Have you any idea why I don't see all these changes I made? We cannot see any change because we haven't enabled our module, the slide show module that we installed the first thing that we did. That's the more jewel that is going to show Whatever we do on the administration panel, so click on the extensions module manager. You see, it's unpublished without position, as we said, and showing toe non pages. So click on slideshow module. The first thing is to choose a position for it. Scroll down. Here are the positions off our template for the slide show. Click on that next click on the publish option on status. The next thing, we should take care of its the menu assignment. Until now, we've been using the Arnold Pages. That option is that we want our module to be visible on every page. The other option is the no pages. That means that the module will be invisible through all our side. Another option here is the choose exactly the pages that we want our module to be shown. That's what we gonna choose right now. And, of course, we want to show our module our slideshow module in every home page in English, in Greek. Of course, you can click or unclipped a page if you want to be shown or not. You're going to see how useful this option knees when we'll have more menus so we can choose exactly in which menu we can show our module and in which menu we don't want to be shown. We'll see more details in the later module. Next one is the filtering options that we need to assign here. This particular slide show used us source Julhas articles. That's why we created a certain category, the slide show category, and we placed our articles inside because right now we can choose the category here, closed the old categories on the category field, click here and choose slideshow. Now, whatever articles you upload on the slide show category, it's gonna be shown immediately without any other configuration on the module. We just said it once and that's it. So from now on, if we want to change a slide or if we want, oh, show another picture to show some more text, we don't have to configure. The slideshow module will go immediately to our articles and change the slight that we want to be changed. Okay, so click the save button. Let's go in our front end. Refresh the page. Press five. We see a new, beautiful Imagine here, but as you can see when we mouse over, we see the arrows here so we can move toe the next slide. I can also see the name here on the slide, and I see that it's starting from the slide number four. I wanted to start from the first slide slide Number one. Slide number two slight from three. I want to change that order, and also I want the slide show to change images by itself. I don't want to click on it. Let's go again on the administration panel. If you pressed the save button, you'll be on the same screen here on the slide show module settings. If you pressed the saving close button, you should now go to extensions module manager and click on the ice slideshow module. Now click on the module tab. If you scroll down, you'll see some more options. Here you see the image dimensions render thumbnails. If we want to use thumbnails, your surrender thumbnails doesn't matter the much quality. We don't want to use this. Now click on the item settings. So we choose some settings for our slideshow. You see if we want to display arrows If we want to display our caption How many items were gonna limit we're gonna have if we want to show the title, How many characters will have on title and a lot of other options here? But for now, we're going to change V Auto play, too. Yes, this means that the slide will change every five seconds. Right now, we're gonna change it to 3000 admits to three seconds. You can do as many experiments as you want and another option. We want to change its from filtering options. The order off our slides were gonna choose date extending not mean that the first article that we created is gonna shown first. Then the 2nd 1 on the 3rd 1 It said there. Let's click on Save button Gold from Times Refresh. And here we are our first slide, our second slide third slide, changing every three seconds as we choose on the module settings, I want you to notice that this particular slide show it's very nice because it's giving a depth field. You see, it's like you see a really image here. It's not just a static image. You see the menu is in front of it, but it's scrolling down. I think it's very beautiful. There are a lot off slide shows you can use, and most of them are for free, where you can find those slide shows. Now you can find those slide shows on the official extensions. Directory extensions dot juma dot org's If you search for slide show, hit the enter button, and here you can see a lot off slide shows off course if you want to filter it so it's gonna show only the free slide shows go, and here you are. You can download whatever you like, and you can use it as a slideshow. I'm using this literal because I really like it, but you can use your own. That's all for now. See you on the next course. Thank you 21. Homepage Article: Hello, everyone. Here we are again Looking at our website are front end. This is what the visitors will see. Until now, we have finished our slideshow setting. Everything seems to be okay. We are on a good way to our first complete hotel website. Until the slide show. Everything seems fine. But if we scroll down, we see there's a blank page. There's nothing below this below slideshow. So what do we have to do now? We have to assign an actual article some content to the home page to this Manu, we have to assign a very specific article. What exactly? We want this to show below the slide show because until now, we have been using some modules. It doesn't matter what I want to show with my home menu. These modules will be shown the weather module. The cast, um, html module that we used for our phone, the language module language switcher module, the main menu module, the slide show module, everything as a module right now. So we need to create a new article so we can provide some content. Our visitors. Okay, open up the administration panel click on content article Manager. You can click to add new article immediately from here. If you're not very experienced, click on the article manager so you can get used to see and to manage your articles from this environment. We have our slideshow articles here. Our slides. Actually, So we need a new article or our home page Click on the new bottom. Let's give a title rooms home page. That's the title I'm gonna give. You can name it as you wish. I live it on categorized I don't want I don't want it to be featured because I'm not gonna use a menu that I'm calling all the featured articles So we're not going to use this feature right now. I want you now to be careful about what I'm gonna show you here. It's very important to choose a language. Why is not important? It's important because if we choose English UK every time that I have English articles every time that my language is English here, the article will be shown. If I choose Greek, it can be shown on Lee on the Greek side. It cannot be shown on the English side. So whenever I choose English, I won't see this article. I cannot see Jumla forbidden us to show this article. That means that while we have two languages, we should create one for English and one for Greek. Two articles. They should be the same. Just the text should be translated. But we should create to I'll do a test here and I'll create one for the English one and work for the Greek one. So I'm gonna name rooms, home page, the English one and I will put some text in here. Welcome. In our hotel, we provide you with top while it is services, navigate through our work website and book your commendation online. Now, I'm gonna use a small trick here. It's okay about our text. We're gonna use some text here. I'm gonna choose the language English, UK, After the text. I want to show a moderate. But how can I do that while I'm in the editor here? I'm not on the module manager. What can I do from here? Here is a small trick. Julia has a comment that can load modules inside of your articles so you can write load position and you can name your position. Whatever you want for this example. I'm gonna load position home rooms in this module. I'm going to show hotels rooms. So I'm creating a cast. Um, position here, the home rooms. I'm gonna create a moderate. I'm gonna sign on that position. The module. So it will be shown in our home page. Do not worry. You'll see it in a minute. How it works. Exactly. So I'm gonna place a thank you message here. I'm gonna save and new because I have to create the helm page for the Greek one. So if you keep my dear, this is the title that I'm choosing to give it my Greek article. I'll put some text in here. Something like the text I had in English just now. I'm gonna put it in Greek. Carlos Ortiz and destruction of the humans. Welcome in our hotel, we wish you a great huh? Have a nice navigation and book your reservation and make your reservation online. Okay? And now I'm gonna use the same command us previously the load position. And I'm gonna use the same position, home rooms. Ah, thank you. Message. And I'm gonna sign this article in Greek language and use the saving close battle. Okay. Now, in order this to articles to be assigned, we have to go to menus main Manu and assign a new Manu. Here, click on home on the minute type item, press the select bottom. Choose articles, a single article. Select which article you want to show. We are on the English menu. So click this rooms. Home page, saving close. Okay, so go in front. End refresh. Okay, here is so after the refresh, we see that below the slide show. We see our title, our article title, some more details off the article, our text, exactly what we wrote. A thank you message. But we don't see any module inside here. There isn't. That this is happening is because on the certain position, go to extensions. Module manager in the position. Home rooms. We don't have any module. We're not using any module currently here on the filters. You can see only the positions that some modules are using. So actually, we don't have any module to show here. We don't have it yet will create it in a second. So let's go on administration. My news Main Manu the Greek one choose. How did you choose the home page? Actually, select articles will assign a single article to be shown here. Select RCTV Mafia. This is the article really need to. Okay, click on the Greek and here we are. We have our Greek version of the same article. From now on, I'm gonna use only the English one. I just wanted to you to know how the translation works. Now, every article, every new article we create we need to create it twice, once in English and once in Greek, as you can see. Also in the Greek version, there is no more general between the text. The two texts that we wrote on the next course we're going to see how can we deal it? All these details here we don't want to show. And also, how can we place the module in the middle of the text? See you in the next video. Thank you. 22. Homepage Settings: Welcome back, guys. Here we are. We have now set up our home page The first article to show and this one is the article. This is the content. And here we see some more details about this article. But what if we don't want to show all these details here? What can I do? How can I hide this super user or this category or the published state? If you wanna raise all of this Goto administration panel, click on the menu Main my new English click on home And here we have a lot off options for this menu. Click on the options tab and does your see weaken set from here If we want to show or not the title If we want to show our not category let's choose hide If we want to show or not. Parent Hide to show Author No hide Show created it Date Hide Show modifier Published Date All hide show navigation Now Hide show void gloating Hide Show Aikens Aikens, Are this to the print in the email? We don't wanna show them Hide show heads. No hiding this. Okay, let's click on save going on our front end Press the F five or the refresh bottom and you see everything is gone. We still have these options because we didn't, said the print icon in the email icon on Hide Save Again written home at five and that's it . Everything is gone, although you can live whatever details you wanna show, for example, the print and the email icon as usually good to show it and give this opportunity to your visitors to print immediately details or to email the details off your home page. Okay, we have said that, of course, you should do exactly the same for the Greek article also, or for any other language that you have said the next one. I want you to show it's another option here that it's a special plug in for the certain menu that means told for the Ice Mega Manu, Click on the Ice, Megan A New Perimeters and here you see a small subtitle field Give here a small subtitle for the people to understand what exactly there seeing Ah, Hotel Front page. It's a nice subtitle for this certain Manu Click on Save Let's Go on front end Refresh F five and here you are home with a subtitle hotel from Page. I find it pretty awesome this way. So that's it. For now, as a homework, you have to do all the other languages set the same perimeters as we did with the English one. So, for example, you will go on your Greek menu, choose the men you have here and said the details not to be shown. And also place a subtitle here as we did with English one. That's all for now. See you on the next course. Thank you. 23. Rooms Module: Hello, guys. Welcome back in this course, I'm gonna teach you how you can use the module inside your article. We have said a position here, but it's not showing in our front end. I'm gonna show you exactly what you have to do. So we're gonna have a very nice rooms module in here, shown in our home page article open up the control panel. The administrator panel First, I would like to upload some images, some rooms, images that I have included in. The resource is file click on content Media Manager creating your folder. I'm gonna name the new folder. Rooms create folder, Click on that folder. I've load select files. Go to resource is like, um, folder sample data that I have given you. Click on the rooms folder and choose all four of rooms open and start upload. Now we have those four rooms. Next one. Our next step now is to show those images throughout a module. So click on the extensions module manager, create a new module. It's gonna be a cast. Um, html module. Okay. You can name the module as you like. I'm gonna name it. Rooms included into an article so I know that we're going to include this module in our article. Now, if you remember the custom position that we had said it was home miners rooms, that's our custom position. Hit the enter bottom and that's it. We set this module on a cast. Um, position. It's not a templates position. It's a cast on position that we created. Now in that position, we want to show some details about our rooms, the images that we uploaded. Okay, great. So click on the image, but, um, Goto rooms folder. Here are the images we uploaded a minute ago. Select the 1st 1 click insert next to this click on the image rooms. So, like the 2nd 1 and click insert. Press the enter button. Click on the image on the rooms. 3rd 1 Okay, leave a space click. Image rooms. 4th 1 insert. Now, here is the trick. I will live it as a language to be shown in every language. The old one. If I have this option is gonna be shown in Greek and in English. Both. But if I change it and set it on Lee to English, for example, we're going to see it only on the English home page. The same with Greek. But for now I'm gonna live it to all. And I'm gonna click. Save battle, Not saving close. Just save because I want to change some things later. Go to our front end. Refresh. If you scroll down, you will see the rooms. Here we have our module title. The much is we insert and everything we want to insert in here. We can sit the title to hide. We're going click on save button, Go again, Refresh. And I think it's getting better now, Another option here. For those who can use a little bit of coding, they can do it off course. You can add some text here so you can explain exactly what type of room is every room here , maybe show the price of the room or anything you want. The way that I just showed you is the easy one. If you wanna handle some coding, you press the tuggle editor battle. And if you know, or if you want to get your hands dirty with some coding, you can copy and paste the code that I'm giving in this lecture so you can see how we can use the class ro fluid, the Class span six. That it's used to divine the space horizontally and the class room title so we can have a cast, um, button by saving this goto home page. Refresh. You see how it looks like it has a flashy effect. It has a label here with a link. It's pretty different from the previous one and more elegant using the CSS off the template . If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to answer me through messages, personal messages or through forum. That's all for now. See you on the next course. Thank you. 24. Things to do Module: Hello and welcome back. Everyone in this course, we're going to create a nice module under our rooms Home page with things to do. So we are going to create the things to do or visit section open up the administrator control panel. Before we do that, we need to install an extension. A new module. So click on the extensions. Extension manager, choose file. Locate to resource is folder Unzip the ice carousel extracted here. Choose the mod I s carousel opened. Upload and install. Okay, that's it. No. As the slide show module, the ice Carcelle module works exactly the same. It needs a few articles in order toe. Show them. So the very first thing we have to do is click on content category manager and create a new category. We're going to name this category. Things to do. Saving close. Okay. As you can see, the category has been created. Now we're going to upload some sample images that we're going to use in this articles. So click on the content media manager, create a new folder, Name it. Things you can give any name you want doesn't matter. But as a general rule, it's good to give things name that is going to remind you. What exactly is that? Because maybe after six months, you have to edit this website. It's good to know where everything is located. Where are the images? If they're organized? Well, where are the articles? If they are organized well as well, etcetera. So let's create the things folder. Click on that folder. Upload some images, select files. Browse on resource is folder sample data things folder I have four photos for you to use here. These are not mine. Photos are just for demonstration used on Lee. You can use your own photos with a resolution off to 70 and hide 1 60 just for this website . I'm going to use those four photos. Okay, open them. Start upload. Great. Now we have created our category. We have uploaded our photos. Next thing is to create the articles. Go content. Article manager, Click on new The first article. It's going to be the island. Both trip category is gonna be things to Dio. We're gonna create our content here. Scroll down. Choose a much things boat trip image uploaded. Hit the enter bottom and write some text here. It's war Earthy to try the boat trip experience. When did you Liz? It our island, blah, blah, blah. You can write whatever you want. Don't Mace Teoh, Visit our mountains with bike. Okay, saving you our next one. Visit museum. Choose category. Scroll down. Choose image from the things folder that says Museum of Lofton's great Museum. I like the photo. I'm going to use this photo just for demonstration purpose. I repeat, do not use those photos on your website. So let's see here. Visit our museum and see all the ancient civilization Okay off Greek people. And one more last one I'm gonna create here. Off course. You can create your own or the things to do that you have from the previous steps from the Step one and step two. You should find them and include them in this section. Learn scuba diving category things to do you much things scuba diving and a sample text here that it could explain what exactly you are offering or what exactly? People can learn here are in its tractors will teach you and you have a great experience and their water. Okay, saving closed. Now what have we done here? Let's see. We are on article Manager. We're seeing all our articles click on search tools. These are fielders that we can apply Click on select category and shoes. The things to do now you're only watching the articles that are on this certain category on things to do. We have those four. It's pretty good we have created for all languages. You should be creating the same articles for English. Same articles translated into Greek or for every other language you have. But I'm creating to all for all the languages for this demonstration. Now we created our category from the content category. Manager Next one, we uploaded our files from content Media Manager. Next one, we created four articles from content article Manager and the final step is from our extensions. Go to module manager, click on the ice carousel module and let's select the position ice carousel position. It's ready, said studies. To publish, you can select a theme here and some other general settings for this module. But the most important setting is in content options. We're gonna delete the all categories, select things to do categories in the item options. We have some more settings, just like the slide show settings. But for now we have to set the menu assignment Onley on the pages, select on our home pages and click Save Let's Go, the front end. Hit the refresh bottom if five and let's see. What have we done here? Nice. I see our articles here, but I don't like this, of course. So let's change the name. I'm going to change the name amazing things to do and look out what I've done here. I place a vertical line and I said, some title. So author saving go again in the front end. Hit the refresh battled Look how beautiful. It looks like amazing things to do with a subtitle. That's it for the awards. See you on the next course. Thank you. 27. Testimonials: Hello, everyone, Welcome back in this course, I'm going to teach you how we can use a testimonial module on our website. As we said on our previous steps on the goal setting step, it's a nice thing to have testimonials to show every visitor what your clients say about the hotel and the services that we provide. So we have to go to administrator control panel before proceeding in our creation off this module off this testimonial module, I'm sure that you have seen in other websites how the testimonials are presented. Usually they have a small image of a person. The person who say is the testimonial was doing the testimonial. A small text. What's this person saying, Actually, and his name or his or his title? So actually, our testimonial module will have the same design. Before we do that, we need to upload those images the people images that we're going to use. So first, go to content. Media manager. Creating your folder testing more Neill's create folder Political that folder upload. Choose files on the resource is folder. Click on simple data testimonials and choose three random images. Of course, you're going to use the rial images. Those are just for demonstration purpose. Okay, I'm choosing those three. Team three, Team 14 5 I choose. Open. Start. Upload. Okay, now we have those three images. Now, the next step is from extensions. Module manager. We should create a new custom HTML module, and we're gonna place testimonial. Just the money. All one here. We're going to use a small piece of cold, so as we can take full advantage off our great template. So let's go to Tuggle editor. And the first thing we're gonna use here is the block quote block quote, block quote. This is how we close. This is how we close the quote. So whatever we write in here, it's gonna be shown as a testimonial. You can write whatever you want. I am very happy with those services provided, uh, these great hotel lovely people and great place to say, Okay, that the text next one, we need the image to be shown. So we're going to use the class testimonial offer. Here it is. Write this down, Dave. Class equals two testimonial author, and you can choose which he much to show from the images. What? We uploaded a minute ago. The last one is the author's name. Toys giving us this testimonial. Let's say, Ah, sample name Gary Smith from you Jersey. Okay, so that's it. Keep a copy of this on the elephant. Select all and press control. See? Keep a copy off this text of this code. Choose position testimonials. It's published. It's on old pages assigned. Okay, Now save a new Let's go to our front end. Hit the refresh bottom. Yeah, it seems that it cannot find the image. Let's take a look at it. Testimonial, Tim. Three. That's it. Saving close. Refresh. How soon to be great. Okay. From this one, you go to Tuggle editor, not testimonial testimonials. Get all the code control. See Copied. Saving you. Testimonial number to Tuggle. Editor President Control V. It's the paste. So the team for the next day much of course, you can change the text. This may be Lara from Brazil. Select position. Testimonial saving close. Hit the refresh bottom. And here we are. We have lava from Brazil who have Gary from New Jersey, saying the best for our hotel. So now we have finished our testimonial module. You can do any customization is that you want. I encourage you to experiment with those settings with with everything we're doing here. Actually, it's a demonstration site. So do every customization that you want to do every experiment that you want to. If you find any difficulty, I'm here to help you to achieve your own goals. Okay. Now, before we proceed to our next course, I want to show you a small feature that I really like on this template. You see, now that we have placed the testimonial module, it seems very nice. But I don't like this orange background here, although it's pretty good, pretty nice color. But I don't like it because I want to use images. I want to have beautiful images through my whole website. So what can we do now? So if you want to change the orange background with a custom image, you can do the following step. Open the local host administration panel. Click on the extensions template manager. Choose the I T. The Lodge three. Our current template. Click on General Tab, scroll down and you see here there's a showcase background, a much click on select. You can upload any file you want I currently have included a sample image. Go to resource is click on sample data. Choose the showcase. A much open click that start upload, scroll down, choose the much and press the insert Bottom saving close. We're not going to make any other changes. Go to our front end refresh. And here we are a much better background, the much for our testimonials. You can see that this one has the sense off death also as the slide show. I really like this. So that's all for now. See you on our next course. 28. Bottom Modules (Facebook): Hello, everyone. Here we are again in the next videos, we are going to create some modules so we can place them on the footer off our website. The food here, of course, is the bottom off the website, the bottom space. So in this video, we're going to place a small Facebook like page. It's really important, in my opinion, to have a Facebook fan page. And as we're going to see on the S E. O course, not only the Facebook fan page, it's important. But any social link that you can get is very important for your branding and for your traffic. We're gonna talk later about this. For now, we're just going to add a Facebook like page on our website. Okay, open the administration panel. Click on extensions Extension manager. We need to install a new module. So throughout the module, we can promote our Facebook fan page. Click on choose file button and select the mold. FB like box, choose open, upload any stole. Okay. The module was successfully installed. Click on the extensions menu Module manager. You see, the new module that we just installed is here unpublished, of course, waiting for us to publish it. These are the basic settings that we need to set up the 1st 1 I want to change. Here is the title. Join us. Um, Facebook. Be a member. If you community so far create community. Of course. Okay, After making a custom title, our page you are l look, Paige, you are ill. You have to find it from Facebook. So, for example, it should be like this one https dot slash last, www dot facebook dot com slash and your company name Here. You should go on Facebook, click on your group on your fan page and copy and paste the URL. If you find any difficulties on this, drop me a PM and I'll answer for you. I'm not showing exactly, because I think it's easy for you, the next one. How it's gonna render. I prefer html five in the dimensions. I think we're gonna make it like 400. Hate the cooler. There are two basic options. The light in the dark one. You can choose whatever you want, border color and now some basic options people faces. If you have a lot off followers, a lot off likes on your Facebook front page. It's a nice idea to show all of this people the stream. If you upload a lot off news on your Facebook page, you should let this to show. But for this example, I'm gonna hide this The header I want to show and the language Toa alta. The next one we have to assign here is the position. It's going to be the foot their position and studies publish. Okay, Now the last thing we have to do here is to assign our module assigning on all pages. We want this model due to be visible on every single page off our our website. So please save. Go on the front end, press at five, or refresh scroll down of the bottom and you can see we have a Facebook fund page module here. Do not worry if the Facebook module seems big one because we're going to add two more modules on the same position, so it's gonna compress them in order for all of these modules to fit in the same position here, one next to each other. That's all for now. You can experiment as much as you want. See you on the next course. Thank you. 29. Bottom Modules (Newsletter): Hello, everyone. Welcome back in this course, we're going to install our newsletter component. Open the administration panel. Click on the extensions Extension Manager. Our first step is to install the component I have chosen for you. The newsletter. It's a while mailing the free edition. You can download it from the official website if you want, or you can choose the one that I have included in The resource is folder. This is totally free. Now the component is under the components menu on a C mailing here, you can create your lists. Right now, we have only I newsletters list, but you may have as many lists as you want. You can choose. You can create your newsletters. Your templates use leather templates. There are some installed template that you could Jews. You can see statistics. And there are some configurations here. Some basic configuration about senders, information, male configuration. You should check these configurations before sending your first newsletter. CSS features tracking the tracking feature is only on the essential A c y mailing edition and above. Okay, you can see all the configurations here. Shake them out. If you have any problem, just drop in a PM and we're gonna set your own newsletter configuration. But for now, we just want to create a small use letter form down here so everybody can obtain in our newsletter. Every everyone can give us his email address so we can contact them. We want to build a customer list from our newsletter module. Okay, So, back to the administrator, click on the extensions module manager, click on the new but button click on a C mailing module. Let's give a title here, subscribe to our use leather state, informed about our discounts or stay informed about our special prices. You could put your own promotional message here. We want to choose the position now on foot or position. Okay, as you can see here, the A C Why? Mailing module has a lot off options. You can experiment with a live these options For now, I'm going to choose the news letter released. Apply display mood vertical, The list checked by default. Okay, display. Field your gun. Display any field you want. Okay, that's all for now, if you want to create a custom message for every language you're using, you should set this more Jewell to a certain language and create another one and then create another one and set the other language. But for now, I'm using the old language is setting here menu assignment on all pages. Okay, lets President save bottom. Go to our website Refresh. Here we have our subscribe fan. Of course, you can change no settings here. I'm gonna change the size. I'm gonna change the effect. We're gonna make it to slide effect. She was saved and see how it's gonna change on click. Here it is. I'm click again. It's hidden. Okay, That's not very nice. I prefer them normal with no effect saving close refresh again. And that's it. Every new subscriber that will give you a name and an email. You will have this information saved on your ace emailing. Now every new subscriber will be saved on your list, and you can see them from the users menu on the A C While mailing component. Here we have some demo users subscribed. Remember that it's always a great idea to give the option to your visitors to opt in in a in a newsletter. This is a great idea. Give them something for this, so inform them about special prizes or give them special discount for everyone quizzed in your newsletter. It's very important to build your own client. List your own customer list so you can promote any time your product or services. So that's all for the newsletter. I repeat that if you have any problem on how to set up your newsletter module or your component, send me a message and will configure it together. See you on the next video. Thank you 30. Bottom Modules (Contact): Hello, everyone. Welcome back in this course, we're going to create a small contact US module in this module. We're going Teoh. Put some contact information so every visitor can see our address, email and phone number. So I opened the administrator control panel legal in the extensions module manager. We're going to create a new custom HTML module. Right. The title here address. We are always here for you. Address only. Menace. Okay? Yeah. Fastow's Greece E mail. It could be in four my Dunblane dot com or go G r. Maybe when I hit the enter bottom you see that Juma transformed this email into a link? What? That link? If we double the editor, you will see that it's ah male to into this email. That means that when will save this and the visitor will click on this visitors default mail client will open, ready to send us an email. This is very useful feature. And our phone number here, the phone number for international calls should be if your hotel way, if the hotel is located in Greece, should be like plus 30. All right. Should be something like this. So Okay, having said this up. Choose a position footer. Okay. My new assignment on every page of our website seven. Close. Open the front end off the website Refresh. Okay, so here we have our address details Website Sims. A little bit more complete. Now, those three modules that we have assigned in our footer position are actually very, very important because all those three modules are called to action modules in a different way. So we invite our visitors to follow us through Facebook if they have a Facebook account or to give us their email so we can contact them or to contact us through a more direct option , like we give them our address or our phone number. So, in my opinion, it's very important to have a lot of coal to actions off different call to action buttons or a different kind off call to action modules like we use here. Different call to action methods on Lee on the home page, we use a lot off call to action bottoms. Another great culture action module is this one. Make a reservation module. Always remember that you have to give your visitors a lot off call to action options. You may have seen in many websites. When you enter as well as soon as you enter on their home page, maybe they have a pop up. But, um, let me call an action. They want an action from you, a skip action or a register action or a subscription action or just a follow US action. Follow us on Facebook. Like the module we have here throughout the website. We're going to use more coal traction battles. But for now, this four are very important. Call to action modules. The one here for our address and other details. The other one here for the newsletter. The join us follow us on Facebook, or like us on Facebook and the make a reservation module. Okay, that's all for now. You can practice and see what works for your kind off website. If you are not building a hotel website and I'll be very glad to discuss with you what would work more so you can create a very effective website that converts visitors into customers. Thank you and see you on the next course. 31. Promotional Message (shortcodes): Hello, everyone. But before doing that in this course, we're going to use some short colds. If you have never heard this before, I'll explain you in a minute. What's a short code? So please come the administrator Control panel extensions extension manager, choose file. And now we're going to choose the short codes. The ice A theme. Short codes through the pale, G ice short codes open, upload and install. Okay, installation is complete. Let's make a check for the plug. In short, as you see the plug in is disabled. Click on this bottom and we just enabled the play game. Now let's click on the extensions module manager. Create a new module, a custom HTML module. I'll name this promotion. You can name it as you want to, but just it would be nice to remember it later. Position message. And now we're going to write our message here, get a special 10% discount for booking online. Okay, choose the text and from paragraph, let's make it age three heading. Scroll down. Push the Tuggle editor bottled and you will see it as an age three tags. And inside here, we're gonna write something else. Press the book now bottom and get the special discount. And now here we're going to use our short code, the plugging that be installed a minute before I want you just to copy and paste the following code. Now click on save button. Let's go on our front end, refresh the page, scroll down, and does You can see this is our promotional message. We can write whatever we want. You see, this text is H text. That's why it's bigger on the one below it. And you see a small bottom here. This one is created from our short code. The bottom short code has a few settings, like the link here, where exactly what? Write a descriptive title here, room type and facilities. It's good for me. I think it's good for visitors. Also, they know exactly what what to expect when clicking this menu. Just select. And now, for the first time, we're going to use asshole Addressed menu Legal show a single reservation Asset Legal change asset. You should have only one answer here. Listed some flour. Or if you changed the name of your asset, your property. You should be seeing that click on that scroll down and shoes on your right. The language to be English, UK, the next one I see Mega Manu Parameters. We have said that parameter to our home page. Manu, we're gonna set it here, too. Exactly Manu. If you click this Manu, you will see that there are exactly the same options. But why we use this twice? As I said earlier, it's nice to give your visitor a lot of options with different keywords. It doesn't matter that we're showing the same exactly Manu here. They're entering each off these two options for different reasons. So when someone clicks on this menu, you want to see some pictures and what room times you have and what are your prices. When someone clicks on the online booking on this Manu, they wanna book a room so they may be exactly the same. A new, but they work differently. We created to accomplish different goals. OK, so let's take another look. It was pretty fine. So let's move on to our next course. Thank you. 36. Contact us Menu: Hello, everyone. Welcome back in this course, we're going to create the Contact House menu on the main menu here. It's very important to give our visitors a lot of options to contact us like the one we give here. See you on the next course. Thank you. 37. Modules Settings: Hello, everyone. Welcome back in this course, we're going to see some module settings. For example. As you see, we have here 12 modules set on the same position. The sidebar. But the make reservation module shows first, and then their words. How can we change this order or if you click on the contact us button? We have three modules on the same position here. How can we hide those two modules so we can show only the contact form, so it's gonna show right here. Okay, let's go to the administration panel extensions, module manager. So in this course, we're going to see a little bit about the module manager on the side bar. On your left, there are some fielder's. If you want to arrange the order off the modules for a certain position, this is the best way to do it. Select your current position that you want to fix the order. We have the sidebar position. Click on that. And as you see, this is the order that are Modules are shown. If we want to change that, click on this. Click on this. Order bottom here and now, just drag and drop the module that you want to show first or second or third. After that, go to your front end Click Refresh. And here we have our contact form module showing first, then our awards, then or make a reservation. Monjural Off course. This is going to create a problem here because if you go on the home page, you'll see the awards first, then the make a reservation, and we don't want that. So we want make a reservation before the award wants you. Okay, rearrange that front end refresh, and that's it. So, just like that, you can arrange your module ordering the next one that I want to see here. It's when a visitor clicks on this battle on the contact us that he wanted. Contact us. So actually, we don't need the maker reservation module or the awards. Marshall, I don't want this to be shown here. How can I do that? Open up The administration panel module manager. The awards first play Comey awards module click on the menu assignment. Let's change this, and we're going to choose for the first time the on all pages except the selected pages. General Things to do: Hello, everyone. Welcome back in this course, we're going to create and module to accomplish our things that do our general things to do . Goals that we have said in the first step. The goals that we want to achieve is to create a module over here just below the awards module that is going to have to bottoms. The first bottom is going to show the visitor the bus schedule and the other one is going to show the fabled schedule off course. It's a very nice idea to include this kind of information. They're always useful for your visitors, especially if you're talking about a hotel that it's in an island. So open up. The Administrator Control panel extensions Model Manager. We're going to create a new module cast, um, html module title here. Bus and ferry and subtitle collect to see schedule. The position is going to be Have a sidebar. And here on the content, I am going to upload to new images. Scroll down. Choose file on the resource is folder. Choose the sample data. Upload the bus one and the ferry images open. Start, upload. Choose the bus. One image insert scroll down again click on the image. Choose the fairy image insert. Okay, of course. You can customize and make him smaller by clicking. And dragon drove through a corner. I'm gonna make him a little bit smaller. Okay, so it was nice right now. Menu assignment on every page. I want this morning to be visible on all pages. Okay. Now, we're going to use for the first time an external link because we don't want toe right. The ferryboat schedule or the basket drew as they change constantly. They change every week or every month. Maybe we want to show an external link. So I'm going to open a link here. This one is a useful trouble guide for Fassel's. Okay. When to choose this control, see, to copy, click on the first tee much, then click on the insert Edit link control paste, The U R L. I can give a title here. Click to see bus schedule and on the target, I'm going to choose a new window. A small tip here, whenever you have an external ing external, Inglis, a link that leads to another website. Always remember to use the new window feature because we don't want our visitors to go away from our website. We want to give them a new information. Very useful information, but no, chase them away from our website. So remember to use in your window option Here. Click. OK, you can do the same with the other image. Click here. Let's get the exact Earl. Okay, Here it is. Control. See to copy. Let's insert control. V Paste title Click here or the ferryboat schedule on a new window. Of course. Okay, click on save button. And now let's go on our front end like the F five or refresh bottom. Here we have our module, bus and ferry, but I see that they're quite big images and they don't fit on this sidebar. So I'm gonna make them a little smaller. Okay. Click on save. Refresh the front end. Okay, that's better. Okay, the module is pretty fine, but the problem is with the order. I want to make a reservation first, then the awards, then the ferry and bus schedule. So this is going to be your homework. Based on the previous course. I want you to rearrange the order off the modules here, so we'll have to make a reservation module first. I'm not gonna say anything else to you. That's all for now. See you on the next course. Thank you. 39. Goals Check: Hello, everyone, Welcome back in this course we are going to make a check on our website. We're almost finished, so we want to shake if we achieved our goals. The first thing that we have to check is if we have achieved our visitors goals. So let's see one by one. The visitors goals are the goals that we set on the first step. If you remember, For those who don't remember, you confined those goals on the first step. The first goal, the first visitors goal, is to make online reservations. We have achieved that by installing a booking component, the solid rest component, and we give this ability to visit her through our online booking menu or the make a reservation module. So this goal is achieved. Our next goal. Waas for the visitor to be able to see more details about our hotel by clicking on the room type and facilities, he can see more details about the rooms in our facilities. Also, through our photos, he can see a lot off details about our hotel, from the photo gallery and from the location Manu. Hey can also see a lot of details here, so I think that we're OK. We achieved that goal to another goal that we had said Is that our client, our visitor, want to be informed about the rates and the availability we achieved that to buy solid rest component our booking component here. If someone clicks on the online booking, hey can see the price here and the availability from the calendar. Our visitors also can can make use off the make reservation module so they can be informed about the availability on certain dates. Another one goal that we had set up was the news. Our business news. We're achieving that Our website from page or through email if they subscribe to our newsletter. So where we achieved that goal to and the last visitors goal that we wanted definitely to achieve it waas the contact When the visitor want to contact us, we achieved that by a module here where we display our phone number. We achieved that by a contact us main menu button here and also and also with a module on the bottom off our website that has our address email phone number so everyone can contact us immediately. Okay, so as we see, we have achieved all our visitors goals. The next thing that I want to check here is the general things to do that we have set up. The 1st 1 was the weather forecast. As you see, we have achieved this by installing a weather forecast module and it seems very nice. The next one is the how to visit information when someone clicks on the location off our hotel. We have some additional information here, so this information help anyone to visit us. This answers to how a visitor can visit us off course whenever we give the address here or whenever we give a spot on the map here on a Google map. It's also an information that answers how a visitor can visit us, the bus and the ferry. Bold schedule. We achieved that by adding a very nice module with two icons here for the bus and for the ferryboat off course. We're using an external ing here that opens a new window with the bus and the ferryboat schedule each the next one we wanted to give our visitor, I thinks to do my new. We achieved that by adding a module here, a car Rozelle module, using some great images and showing the visitor what he can do or what he can visit on the island. And the last one on the general things to do. Waas that the site should be multi language. Of course. Here we have our languages. This one actually was the first thing that we did here because in junior, every multi language site should be set just after the Juma installation. It's the first thing that you have to do before start developing anything else. So that was the final one from the general things to do. The last thing that we have to check on our website is the special requirement section, a special requirements. We had said first the show awards and we achieved that by creating a module, a cast, um, html module. But we're showing our hotel awards and the other special requirement towards the testimonials. We achieved that by creating our testimonial modules showing on our testimonial position here. Okay, so after checking our goals, I think we're okay. We have achieved all our goals here, everything what we wanted to accomplish, and our website is ready here to be sold and start acquiring new clients for our new hotel . So thank you very much. I hope you learned a lot through this course. And I also hope you enjoyed it as much as I did while recording these videos. See you on the next course. Thank you. 40. Selling Tips: Hello, everyone, welcome in the bottle section. In this course, we're going to talk about the up selling and the cross selling techniques. These are two different techniques that you can maximize your profit as a website developer or as a freelancer before starting to use those techniques, we first need to know what exactly is the up selling and the cross selling Here We have the definition off the up selling I was seen in Wikipedia dot org. Up selling is a sales technique whereby a seller induces the customer to purchase a more expensive item, an upgrader and adorn or something extra in an attempt to make more profit from the sale. So, having this definition in mind, let's see what we can do on our hotel website. How can we use the up selling technique on our hotel website? Can you think off any service before proceeding in? This course posed this video right now and try to write down a list of five items that you could use as an Upsell technique for a hotel website. Okay, if you have ready your list, let's see my list here. My proposals. The 1st 1 is the premium hosting package. This is very common in the Web development industry. So instead of offering just one package, you can separate two or three packages with different hosting space Off course, you can interpret the space into more photos. So, for example, you can offer a hosting package for starter giving them just the basic to be online. The minimum requirements so they can upload their website as well as a premium hosting package, so they can have more hosting space more bound with maybe more than five email accounts, etcetera. You can work on that and get the best hosting packages that you can offer for this case. The next feature that you can offer as an up sell is the languages you can have a basic price for two languages. You can charge some more for every new language that your client needs on his website, so you can charge a small amount for every new language that you offer Nowadays. I see many website development companies that they charged the responsive design because it's very important the website to be responsive toe to be to be visible on mobile devices . So you're gonna charge this to the next one the online reservation system in order to create an online reservation system, but a hotel owner can track the reservations. You can charge some extra for this feature. Maybe on your basic package you will have just a contact form. And on the more premium package, you can have the online reservation system. Could you come up with more features that we could use as an Upsell? Write them down. Make a big list with this. See which of those features you can use on your own up selling system and start using them right away. So that's all for the up selling. Let's see what's across selling the cross selling is the action or practice off selling an additional product or service to an existing customer. So that means that when you have developed actually the website on where you have agreed to create to develop the website for your client, you can sell him additional services. Could you think off some services for the hotel website? Pause this video right the least off five services that you can cross sell after your website development package. Okay, so let's see now this is my list off cross selling services for hotel websites. As we said in the development section, it's very important to have nice photos, nice images. So every hotel owner, every hotel manager is very interested in the nice and serious photo shooting. You can offer these as across, so off course you don't have to do it on your own. You can hire a partner and do it through a partner if you don't know if you have no idea about the father. Shooting. Another very important service for hotels, especially for big hotels, is the S e O service. You can offer a short them or a long term as your service. It's very important, and many hotel owners or hotel hotel managers will ask you for this the next one you can offer. It's the promotional services. You can offer them a nice least off promotions that you are going to do for them. Promotions, maybe, from listing to local travel guides to listing and partnering with some big booking sites like hotel dot com or booking that come. I don't know off course hole that you can do with an extra fee or maybe a percentage off their reservations. Another another feature that you can use as a cross sell is the social media presence, so you can create their social media presence or also handle them for a small monthly payment. Could you come up with more features that you can use as a cross? So for a hotel website, write down at least with all the features that you can use as a cross sell and then carefully place every feature into your selling process. Actually, how we are going to promote those sales throughout your sales process. That's all. For now. I would love to discuss with you about the selling system that you use about the cross L and the absolute system. How you implement all these tactics into your sailing system and what working for you best . That's all for now. See you on the next course. Thank you. 41. The big question: Hello, everyone. As a conclusion here, I want to thank you. And I also want to congratulate you for taking the whole court how to develop a professional website. Let's take a look Now what have you learned now? You should be able to create the professional, good looking website. You should be able to make good use off Jumla. You know how to use an article categories media manager, menus, components, modules, flag ings and all that kind of stuff that we used throughout this course. Now we should be able to know a few things about the S e o. What is search engine optimization? The basic stuff and how you can apply this on Julia. So you should be able to know a few things about Julia s you. The next thing that you should be capable off doing is to interact with your clients effectively. From the first moment that you will talk with your client, how you can systematize your work throughout form templates, what exactly you should ask from them and also how you can proceed with a Web development project through the three step method that we used here in this course and the last one. You should be able to know where your clients are, how to find those prospects and how you can sell on them. Also, how you can sell some more on your appliance, how you can use the cross, sell in the absolute strategies. Okay, so now you have learned all of this stuff. But the big question here is what's next? And I think that there is only one answer to that question. Take action. Yes, that's right. That's the answer. Take action. If you're not sure what action you should take, I have a small template for you. I believe it's gonna help you like it helped me throughout my life. The first action you should take. Now that you have completed this course, get your first client. That's the 1st 1 You should make a focus. Get your target group just like we did in the example off this course we created a hotel website. So our target group was hotel owners or hotel managers. Where you find these people, we find this people through Internet, some tourist guys on travel websites, and we create a nice least off prospects. You can use all the techniques that we said on the prospecting course, so find out who is your customer and start creating a list. After that, go and find your first client going. Talk to these people. The next step is to develop your first clients website after talking to your prospects. As soon as you get a client, start developing the first website. You can do this step by step. As we analyzed on this course on the first step, get all the requirements on the second step. Visualize the design on a paper or on the computer, so it's gonna meet your client's requirements and, on the third step, develop the actual website. So lots of the second step develop your client's website after finishing the second step. The client's website development. What's next? Repeat. If you repeat again and again and again, that's a business that's going to be your business. Seems pretty simple if you know exactly what steps to do yet your client developed the website. Repeat. Next client developed the website. Repeat. That could be a very successful business model for you, as it has been for me for the last years. So before I leave you here so you can take action. I want to thank you again. I want you to know that I'll be here to support you on every matter on every problem that you will face through this process. Do not hesitate to question anything you want.
