About This Class
In this class you will learn how to remove the white background from your inked illustrations by scanning them and using Adobe® Photoshop® software. The best thing about having your artwork isolated is that you can change its color, use it on different backgrounds and add different effects to it. So join me and let´s get rid of all those white backgrounds!
You need a basic knowledge of Photoshop for this class.
Meet Your Teacher
Hello! I'm a Freelance Illustrator. I was born in Medellín, Colombia (puedes escribirme en Español!). I create detailed, stylized, playful illustrations, patterns and characters from my studio in Gabriola, BC, Canada.
I have very big eyes and I love animals. Most of my inspiration comes from nature and animals.
I love mixing traditional and digital media to create illustrations and patterns for a number of corporate clients around the world to use in home decor products, stationery, fabrics, kids products and greeting cards.
“I’m very passionate about what I do and believe that through my art I can impact the world in a positive manner. This is why I teach online and why I create fun, colourful and happy... See full profile
Hands-on Class Project
Draw the thing you like the most and get rid of its background!
ASSIGNMENT
One of my favorite techniques to create art is to draw with ink, scan and edit digitally. Getting rid of the background in my linework was something I struggled to do. This technique has worked great for me and I can now do many more things with my lines than just simply using them as a black outline. Your assignment is to draw the thing you like to draw the most (mine is flowers, birds and other animals, so I chose flowers) and scan it and remove it´s background.
DELIVERABLE
A completed project includes:
-A picture or jpg of your scan
-Your linework, recolored, and on a different background.
