1. Introduction: hello and welcome to Introduction to Japanese three. So similar to introduction to Japanese to this course is going to guide you through recognizing and writing the 46 cut back on a character's. For the most part, the experience is gonna be very similar to learning the heat are gonna characters. The only difference is there are a few additional things that you will find him with a couple Khanna characters that you will not find with heat are gonna characters. So, as always, I'm going to attach everything you need. It will be a blank Catholic on a chart for you to post is your final project. Just like the heat are gone. Of course, Um, a completed cut back on a chart for your reference cut back on our practice sheets, which you can trace over. And of course, there will be a final exam and a workbook attached so that you can follow along. So I was she Look, I hope that you get the most out of this course, and if you haven't had an opportunity to take introduction to Japanese one and two, I strongly recommend it, especially before continuing beyond this point, because After this, I will be fully immersing all of my students in the Japanese language by no longer using no magic characters. So on that note, I look forward to our first lesson and gum, but dead. 2. Lesson 1: Hello and welcome Teoh Lesson one. So, in this lesson, we're gonna go over the following characters. Ah, through car through whole sob through soul first character that I'm going to write is off. Uh, next eight e next. Oh, next and next. Oh, next is car looks kind of like the You don't gotta call, right? The next one is key. Okay, Also, looks like the heat are gonna right. Next is Coop cu. Next is kit. Okay? Actually, this is not It's a little more like that. And the next character is socks. So don't let this character confuse you. It looks like the heat are gonna say, but this is something in Ghana. Next is she she next is soon. Soon. Next is said, I said, and their last character for this lesson is So So now I'm going to fill in my blanks on a chart. So that is it for this lesson. And I will see you in the next one 3. Lesson 2: hello and welcome to lessen too. So in this lesson, we're going to come to following characters top to toe, not through no hot through Sorry. First character that I'm going to write is talked. Next is key. Next is suit. I know it looks a lot like the she character and we will get into that, uh, later before the review. Next is take and next poll. The next character is not next is me. This one's easy to remember because it looks like the con genie. And it also has two strokes. Next is next, actually. Sorry. This is new. Next is neck the rial neck. And finally no, which is super super easy. The next character is, huh? Next, is he pretty easy, right? Next is who again? Pretty easy, right? Next is hey, looks just like the heat. I got ahead and finally pulled. Now I'm going to fill in my blank. Cut the Thanachart. All right? And that is it for this lesson. I will see you in the next room 4. Lesson 3: Hello and welcome to lesson three. So, in this lesson, we are going to cover the following characters. Ma through, uh, through the first character that I'm going to write is Mom. Mom, next is me. Next is moved it. What next is men, man? Next is next is dark. Dr. Next is be. And, you know, this kind of will remind you of heat are gonna but it's a lot more sharp. And you kind of know, by context which one is being written? Uh, doesn't who has round characters. This is pointing here point sides, not characters who has around side Atacama characters have sharp sides for the most part, and this looks a lot like that. Got nobody. Except again, um, a lot more Just sharpened. Not as doesn't have as much possess, but anyway, do The next character is the It next is dead, dead and family know. Now I'm going to fill in my blanks on a chart. All right, so that is it for this lesson, and I'll see you in the next one 5. Lesson 4: blue and welcome to listen for. So in this lesson, we're going to go over the remaining characters in the basic part of the Catholic on a charge which would be the characters yacht you, Yo. While wool and first character that I'm gonna right here is Yeah, Yeah, easy enough. Right? And it does kind of look like the you know. Yeah. Next is you, you and next is your You're goodness next is what? Wow. And, uh, I know it looks like another character, but again, we'll get into the lookalikes. Just know this is what and and last but not least we have. Yeah. I'm now going to fill in my blanks. Cut back on a charge. All right, so that is it for this lesson, and I'll see you in the next one. 6. Lesson 5: hello and welcome to our last lesson. As far as writing the characters is concerned. So, um, in this instance or in this case but have become similar to hear not what I mean by that is this, um, these characters and these characters are going to be written in the same format as there. He dog on a cop counterparts. So what I mean by that is these characters have docked in, and it changes their sound the exact same way it does what he does. These characters are combinations where the second small character is the volatile sound that ends up being used or the entire side. The entire sound end up ends up being used and only the continent from the big character and being used. So in this lesson, I'm actually only going to right just a couple of them, and then I'll come back and show you my completed chart. But since we already did this in the heat are gonna lesson, I don't think that this is going to be something very difficult for you. However, if you have any problems, any issues always feel feel armed free to contact me and let me know so on that note. So the first character that I'm gonna right here is got. And this is more so just to demonstrate to you, the similarities between Dr Them with heat are gonna back down with other comrades just about the same. So as you know, this character is calm. Well, just like its heat are gonna counterpart this duct in makes it got this character is with a docked in that I don I don't. Excuse me, Pop. Now, come on. Cut back on, huh? Box? It's kind of strange. So as you can see, it's really not much different from the heat. Are gonna So for the combination characters, I'll just do something through similar um, so yeah. Yeah, sure. Yeah. Yeah. Like a cat. Yeah. So that's all that I'm going to actually demonstrate here because I think that it shouldn't be too difficult. So, having said, I'm going to go ahead and fill out my play because I got a chart and I will come back and show you what it looks like. All right, So this is my completed kata cannot chart, so your should look something like this. Um, don't focus too hard on handwriting. Everybody's handwriting is different in any language, but what's important is that you can, at least to a degree you can write them. Hopefully, you can also recognize the characters. So, um, please post your completed your completed charts. If you would like handwriting critique or anything like that, head over to my website pair pair of dreams dot com, and you can schedule an appointment with me. So on that note, we are going to head into the lookalikes and the review, and we'll see there. 7. Look alikes: So in this lesson we are going to be discussing some look alikes. So, in my opinion, that cattle Khanna lookalikes are much more difficult to distinguish between the two of them. Then they're heat are gonna counterparts. So I'm going to try my best to explain the differences. So our 1st 1 here is she and sit the character here on the left is she were wild character here on the right is another way that I remember. The difference is, um for heat are gonna suit is horizontal like the waves of a tsunami, however, or come back Rana, it is the opposite. Soup is vertical, she is horizontal. So when you're riding them as well, these are two vertical strokes for sheep and two short horizontal these air to horizontal strokes for she and these air to short vertical strokes forts. And so, um, they kind of look a little more like dash marks. You don't have that make them look slightly curved here on the way that I learned, was to just write the marks, uh, horizontally for she and vertically. Ford's too. And like I said, I just remember it's the opposite of key diagram a heat are gonna She is vertical, you know. She has long hair, you pictures someone's long hair flowing vertically down and the waves of a tsunami are horizontal. Just reverse it and you've got the Atacama. She and next we have Mom. And the way that I remember the difference is just I kind of you this looking a little like you Like I looked at a picture this like a like a u shape. But that's just me for these, this might be one of the ones that you just kind of have to memorize. But that's how I remember Mom. And this one here on the left is mocked and which is here on the right move. Like I said to me, it kind of is shaped like you. Next we have that versus debt versus um, and it's funny because they're literally right beside each other on the chart. Um, but there has one less stroke. Then do there is one less stroke. Then do test two strokes. So this is this'd is due next. We have pulled and quote. And one easy way to remember Lo is that it's even though here is clearly a square. I think of it like an old, like an open mouth saying, whereas a coal is not closed, like is next, we have Coop and Coop, and, um, how I remember the difference. Gosh, I guess I've been studying for so long. Um, I almost want to say that, huh? Looks like, uh, it doesn't look like it, like in anything, but ta has this extra stroke here. Whereas crew is just 12 strokes. Coupe has two strokes. Where is top? It has three. Next. My favorites next to she. And so the in my opinion, equally difficult. No. And soap no. Has no stroke. Besides this one for And so I think about heat are gonna again. However, it is not the opposite. And gosh, that might sound really, um, confusing. So, for so I think of heat are gonna soul heat are gonna soul is vertical. Kata console is also vertical, even though the stroke looks kind of confusing and slanted. Give you a writing it, or if I were writing it, it would be a short vertical stroke. So that's how I remember the difference between and so if this stroke is going vertical, I think of heat are gonna so and I know that this is so If it's not so, then I know it's and it can't be No, because no has no stroke. Next, we have LA and hoots And honestly, if you just look at these, they don't look that similar. Who and what? Look a little similar, minus this stroke on the tongue. What? And who look kind of similar minus this stroke here on the side. Um, so I don't really have, like, an acronym or image. I just remember that who has nothing and who has everything. And if it's not or who it must be what? So the next thing I want to talk about are the special combinations, and so special combinations are basically used to frenetically right out sounds that don't exist in the Japanese language. Um, a lot of them are, I want to say most not all, but just about are the sounds. That air skipped on the topic on a chart except for um T. Which I have because on the cover kind of chart there is no teeth right. It's just cheek. Uh, so I said, except for it, because technically they give you are to use a door, Moggie keyboard and you type t I. You're going to get cheap, Chief. However, that's not the teeth sound like. If you want to say beauty or iced tea right, you're not going to use cheap for them because the purpose of these special combos are to make sounds like it said that don't really exist in the Japanese language. So regardless of if it's on the attack on our chart, I just wanted to mention that many of them are missing from the kind of chart. So I have an example for you here, and it is teeth. So the way this works is the vowel sound of the big character is negated, So it's kind of like the combos we learned. The vowel sound is canceled. So this is Ted. The egg is canceled and we just have to. Then you take the vowel sound of the small character and paired with the constant from the large character. So remember this is this is T T and with cover kind of characters. When you see this long stroke, it means that the vowel sound is held so in here are gonna for already got goal. You have Ari Gatto di gotto, right? That's how the sound gets extended out in Kata Khanna. This stroke here indicates that the sound continues. So this is not teeth. It's t t again. It's like an additional. He was at it T t t Next is the w sound, which is another. It is another combination. It has a big boot. Small e or it don't know why I put that in. Don't mind, because it looks like I u and e right, confusing but small eat or in. And the sounds simply transition from the gruesome to the second vowel sound and mid mixed w sound So like, why wine? Um actually not wine. Sorry. Wine is written. What, however, a winter or Uinta win? There is no we sound in, uh, Japanese. Right? So Uinta would be rude and the e sound and you just go from one to the other without pausing. Read? We need lean pop. So Uinta in Catholic and I would be a big, small e top and then the stroke to indicate that the eyes being held Uinta So that was actually it for this. I hope that I explained them Well, if you have any questions, please please feel free to contact me. Reach out to me. Right on the discussion board. So many options. But please let me know. I know that this can be complex when you are new to the Japanese language. However, this is something that you can and will actually easily overcome. What? I first started learning Japanese, I thought that this was impossible. But now it's actually so simple that I have a hard time explaining it to other people because I just know it when I see it. So, um, practice makes perfect. Don't stop trying time, but then it and I will see you in the next lesson. My son Net. 8. Review: All right. So welcome to the review for the end of introduction to Japanese three. So, in this, of course, we learned all of the kata comic characters for your reference. I do have a completed chart on my website. I don't know why this looks so blurry. Um, but I guarantee you there is a nice, crisp chart that you confined. Oh, my website pear a pear dreams dot com. So, along with that, um, here is the link and password to the secret final exam that you can take to go along with this course. It'll just give you some words to study. Check your recognition of the contact comic characters. I strongly recommend taking this exam using the quisling deck and studying it. That's what it's there for. So following this following this course, my courses will always be in here, gotta or cut back on our characters. So, um, Out most likely mentioned this at the start of the next lesson, but I find it to be counterproductive to teach Japanese into an extent in English. I know that in the beginning it may be a struggle, but it is a very valuable struggle. Japanese people don't learn No, Maggie. Then here are going on. They learn the heat Are gonna Taylor Nakata comma? Maybe some Roma Gee and of course, Condi. But I say all that to say that if Children conduce Oh, it then anybody, including Children, adults, whatever, you can do it. So I just want to put that out there. That following this course, you will not be saying in Edo Maggie characters to describe any Japanese words or sounds, Um, so when you go to the exam, it looks like this you're going to click on test if you want to take it as a test, if you want to, you can do the flash cards. But I would strongly recommend starting with the test when they have some games here in the chicken players worlds. Really helpful. And so, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, praises, whatever. If you're interested in one on one lessons, I do have a limited availability now. So please, please, please. While you can try to make an appointment for some one on one tutoring with me, contact me, I'll let you know about the rates and things like that, but, um, got to wrap it up here. Ah, thank you so much for watching my videos. And I truly, truly appreciate everybody who is taken even one of my courses. And if you've gotten this far special shout out to you, I look forward to continuing to make more content as quickly and as frequently as possible . And yeah, with their Japanese studies come. But in the
