About This Class

Have you ever really thought about what makes a great product? Is it color, design, beauty, or usability? Maybe all of the above? Developing products for your small business can be both exciting and scary - after all, the success of your business hinges on them, not to mention your personal satisfaction as a business owner.

When we create products that fill a need that we observe, while expressing our personal values and style, it can create deep satisfaction for both our customers and ourselves. I firmly believe this is the path to creating products that resonate with authenticity, and create a connection between ourselves and our customers.

In this class, we’ll discuss discovering and observing a need, then brainstorming and creating an inspiration board to help push us into product development. I’ll be sharing my own inspiration board and process, as well as a couple of case studies to help further inspire you. There are so many things I wish I had known when I first embarked on this process for my own business five years ago, and I’m so excited to share them with you in the hope that they’ll become a springboard for your success.

You’ll just need are your creativity and powers of observation, and whatever you choose for your inspiration board. For the second optional inspiration board, you'll need a version of Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, which you can grab a 30 day trial of for free on the Adobe website.

I can’t wait to see you in class!

Bonus Material:

I’m sharing a printable PDF of important things I’ve learned about translating ideas to actual products that can be manufactured - whether you’re making them yourself, or outsourcing to manufacturers or skilled artisans. I’ll share key things I’ve learned to be important to my product development for my business.
