1. Introduction to the course: Are you tired off your kind career? Not inspired anymore. Nothing really feels anything in your current role. If that is true, it is time for career change. That may sound a bit scary, and it kind of a big thing, But in the end, it's actually not that bad. When you just break it down into smaller steps in this course, I'm gonna talk about how you can go about starting your career. Change in seven steps. We're gonna look at you. What do you want? What kind of skills do you have instead actually need for those skills in the market? This is an introductory course on how to make a career change. And if you wonder if I'm I am a qualified to talk about Korea change. I am. I'm a professional Korea changer all the way. Until I actually started my own business. I was in corporate roles in various departments, doing HR to finance and accounting to project management. So I pretty much did everything and I kept changing because nothing was really fitting and I wasn't happy and in high inside, all those changes actually helped me so much today as an entrepreneur. So I really know isn't out a career change. And here are my best seven tapes how you can get started. 2. Part 1: question number one or step number one is What do you want to dio? Quite simple question, isn't it? But actually, it's quite profound. I mean, if you are in a job that you're not happy, you gonna have to figure I would actually makes you happy. So one thing, anything but what is the task that you kind of do and you forget the time you can. An hour later, you get the words like, Oh, my God, Where did that? I will go. That's a good indication that is you doing something you really enjoy the career change you want to do? Maybe a just small one. Or it could be a week one. Whatever it is, you actually need to figure it out. Maybe have your big dream, that for water, A reason you haven't been able to realize. Maybe it's now time to actually put those dreams into actress and goals. No matter what kind of change you're looking, it is really critical that you kind of sit down, take a step back and think about what you want to do. What kind of job would excite you on a Monday morning? I use head Monday mornings, but not anymore. I choose when I work, and I love that says it down and take a step back and rights or draw somehow putting the paper. What would you like? You do. And if that seems hard, they could buy what you really do not want to do. That's usually pretty easy, D Once you have that long list of things you don't want to do, you can kind of start picturing what it is that you would actually like to do. And don't just think about task. Think about also environment what kind of managers and coworkers you would like to work with. Or maybe you would like to work alone. And at this point, do no think what your parents wanted you to become. Also, don't think about what kind of education background did you have. You could always retrain. It may take a couple of months, or you could take a couple of years, but I guarantee it's gonna be worth the effort. Everybody thinks about money because we need money to live. But don't take that into calm right now. Just think about what you love to do and really brainstorm. I let your let your mind wander and keep this exercises. Anything is possible. Really anything is possible and then write down all those dreams and goals and things that you would like. Lady in the course, we can actually talk about what a something you can actually do, and there's a market for it and need, and there's somebody who's willing to pay for that. But in the first question, everything's possible. That's the starting point. So sit down, take a pen and paper and start writing. 3. Part 2: next step in the process is to think about what are your skills? I mean, skills are gonna somewhat dictate what you can do. But that doesn't mean that you couldn't train your skills. A swell skills part is slightly limited. So I mean, as much as I would like to be a rock star, I can't sing, so that's not doable. So there has to be some good balance off dreams, Andi skills and what you actually can do realistically under start where you can think about what kind of education do you have If your career change is gonna be in something similar that you already have education? Great. Then it's easy. You don't have to do a new university of decree. You can just continue, maybe do some supplementary trading. I went to enhance your skills. Another thing you can think about is what kind of training courses have you attended because of your work on because of your hobbies? Could anything from their help you out in your career change and realizing the dream? And then, lastly, how could you train? In case you don't have those skills yet? Were you gonna need in your new career and training does not mean necessarily university and actually kind of quitting your job and doing a full time studies again. You can do that part thymus Well, and most likely, you are able to treat homos well, so you don't have to travel to a school or university trade. You can actually do remotely. And you can learn quite a lot already on skill share. And on top of Todd if if you had you damn e and all the other free options where you can learn. So this again is a another pen and paper task or exercise. It is good to actually write down those things that you can do and then the new body, your new career. If there's some knowledge and skills gap, it's good to write those down and then think about how you can actually eliminate that gap . So what kind of training courses you should be doing in order to do the Korea change when you actually write it down? And then you research on how you can train and what kind of skills you need and what it takes to learn those It just gonna eliminate the fear off doing the career change because then you actually kind of have already a plan in place, So take a pen and paper and started writing. 4. Part 3: So once you figure out what do you want to do and what kind of skills you have, it's time to figure out if there's a market for your skills. It may sound daunting at first, but it's actually quite easy. Thanks to Internet and Google. We can do this pretty quickly. One of the good ways is also to just go to up work dog corm on. Look at a number of projects for your skill set. So when you go to up work to a search on approaching and let's say you're looking, you want to become a copywriter. So you would type in Corporate Rider and then see how many hits he gets. And then you can a wait and see how many hits or how many projects you gonna see. If you see loads, great. If you see none, I'm not so great. The whole point off becoming on online free lines. There is off course to find a market that you conserve, and ideally, you want to find a market market space that is undeserved but with a big demand. That's where you know that's where the money really ease, you know, made her come across is very easily, and everybody is trying to find that same spot. But don't worry about it. At this point, the only thing here is to figure out what you really want to do, what kind of skills you have that actually could be used in your freelancing business. And where can you find if there's a market while he's a listing in Start Off With First is , of course, up worked. A calm because it's it is the world's largest freelancing marketplace, along with freelancer the calm. So those two companies actually have maturity, earthy online, freelancing, jobs and projects so that those two website should be your first point of contact. There are, of course, multiple more. I want example is people per hour, which is really good, and you should never forget five or dot com as well. If you can find what you're looking for, then Google is your best friend, and if you really come up with nothing, you could go into Cora to come and ask people to help you out 5. Part 4: after you done some research to figure out if there is a need for your skill, set the next step off course. Figure out if clients are willing to pay for your skills and how much are they willing to pay in the last exercise? If you find a lot of projects on up work and freelancer, you already know that people are actually willing to pay for your skills. So now it's matter to figure out how much they're willing to pay. And the reason why we're doing this exercise is to figure out what is actually profitable for you to do those projects going forward. We all got bills to pay, and as much as fun being a freedoms there is. It is a business, and he needs to make a profit. When you figure out how much clients are willing to pay, you also need me should figure out how much it's gonna cost you to actually provide those services and skills. So you need to think about your expenses as a business. A swell. You most likely have an accountant to help you out. Maybe you also need a lawyer. It depends on where you, which country you're from and how easy or complex setting up a business is. And if nothing else, you most likely have to pay taxis and the insurance. So there's always gonna be expenses, so you just need to figure out what those are, and if you can earn enough to actually cover your expenses on, then pay salary for yourself. 6. Part 5: number five is What is the competition in the market? This is pretty important. You need to know how many competitors you've been a phase on. It is really important to know how many competitors you're gonna have face in your niche. And to really make it as the only freelancer you should always aim Teoh have a quite narrow neige. This course doesn't go in depth on the niche. But if you look at my other courts, hysteria is a court. How you can figure out a profitable neige on up work, which I highly recommend to take. So you've I kind of learned how to do the surging on up work to really figure out what? Whether you're freelancing, career is gonna be a profitable or not. And what do you do? Your research on free lines are up work. Go anywhere else. Try to figure out how much money this person is and could be making in some places is easier. You actually see what they you actually see? What is the project value? And then you can just see how maney there there is per month or per year. In some places, it is impossible to know, but do your best. And that's why it is better to do this resource on multiple websites. So don't just stop on up work and freelancer. Also use Google to your advantage. And, if nothing else, work, always go to corridor. Come and ask. If you come across a niche that you find lots and lots of freelancers. That is a good sign that your niche is not narrow enough to do really well on up work or any other own life realized marketplace. You need really, really narrow niche. So don't just be a copywriter. Be a Cells page copywriter for life coaches or something similar. Whatever skills you have, just narrow it down all the way to the industry and and specific task. This will portray you as an expert in that small niche you can expect to be paid. Also expert rate. This doesn't mean that you never, ever going to do anything else except sales pages for life coaches, but it is a starting point. Once you build your profile on up work or any other freelance marketplaces, your knees will naturally expand. So don't worry about being having a really narrow niche. It is a the best and the fastest way to get started as only freelancer 7. Part 6: number six Maybe live is scary. One. Can you sell your expertise? I'm not gonna lie to you. It's not easy to sell your expertise, but it is a skill that you can learn on up work. This selling kind of happens on your profile on on your proposal letters. So you need to become a master of both and you need to write those in thinking about the client. So it's not about you, really. It is about what the client is going to get. I have further courses on both of these topic as well, so you can look for the information on my other courses. So you really need to think about what makes you unique. How you gonna sell your expertise? What is that thing that clients gonna really like about you and the service you provide? And what is the thing that they think is valuable enough with antique with money? And how do you guarantee a quality to make sure that the customers stay loyal to you and keep coming back with bigger projects in the future? 8. Part 7: the last one is Are you lucky? No matter how good your skills are, how right the timing is and everything else you just sometimes need a little bit luck to make it. I got my break a swell as their own life freelancer. After I've done all the work to make sure everything waas ask, you did as they could and I found my knees. But then it was really matter off getting lucky. I found this great project I really wanted, and I found it really early on. So I put my proposal ing straight away, and I was into it pretty much straight away and hired us well, so sometimes, really, the secret source, the success he's being lucky and being somewhere at the right time. This doesn't mean that you should not perfect your profile and your proposal. Of course, you have to do those as well, and you might have to change those many times before you make it. But don't give up. There's gonna be a day when you are the one that is gonna be hired over everybody else. 9. Course Project: So now you reviewed all the course videos, and it's time to do the course. Protect it won't take too many minutes, but he will help me, and it would help you and everybody on the course. When you do that, you could make the most off the course when you actually do the course project and introduce yourself the community we can all learn from each other. So it is pretty important that you everybody does the course project as well, and that's the best way for me to help us. Well, when you introduce yourself and let me know how I can actually help you, so do take the effort, and I make the effort as well. 10.
