1. Introduction: The job interview tends to be a feared and decisive stage of the rocket when process. But it's a discussion where the rookie tries to determine if you are the right candidate and new to determine if the company and the nature of the job meets your expectation. In this section, we will walk you through everything you need for this discussion towards smoothly, for you to feel confident and ready and for turning the interview into a successful job offer. 2. Preparing for your interview: Convince a recruiter you are the right candidate. You need to be clear about what is expected of you. Therefore, you must read the job description to understand what they are looking for by knowing the job description while you will be better able to make the link between their expectations and your skills. Highlight your skills and responsibility that relate to the requirements of the job just as you study the job description carefully, usual also study the company. Preparation is key to successful interview. Your future employer wants to make sure that you are not there by chance and that you're really motivated. Recruiters can ask you a question about the company and the reason behind your application. Why have you decide to apply to this particular company? Those initial have a global awareness about the business model, geographical location. Is it national, european, a global company? But also men values, mission, visions, recent events. I'm not asking you to learn everything by hurt, just tried to have a global understanding of the company. And remember, two key figures. It can be. It's turnover is creation days, it's worldwide presence. What speaks to you and that you manage to memorize, knowing how to talk about the company not only shows your interests, but can also help you to demonstrate that your desires and ambitions are lined with what the company stands for. Don't hesitate to draw inspiration from your cover letter. The same way that you collect information about the company. It's also really went to add information about the person you will have the interview with. I advise you to go and have a look at your recruiters, linkedin profile and path tensions to the background. Grew. They follow a bit of talking. Basically, you will have a better understanding of who you will be speaking with, which can be a great asset to create a link according to the similarity attraction. Hypotheses, we tend to like people who share similar attitudes. If you know the path of the router, you may find commonalities, same schools to these region on which you can lean on and which will help you to create the link. In addition, if the recruiter has led recommendation to people, you can read them and deduce a quality that they have a light and that they must value. If you share this quality, it's an advantage to a highlight them in their interview. In addition to reviewing the offer, the company interlocutor, it is also important to prepare, build full question to ask at the end of the interview. At the end of the interview, the employer may ask you if you have questions, it's your time to shine. We including the playbook, a list of relevant question to ask for your reference. This question, our guide and not set in stone. If during the interview question arise, go ahead and ask them. This will prove once again, who actively are listening and WHO interests in the position you are. On the other end, there are question that shouldn't be as in the first one of interview such as, when can I take vacation? What are the weekly ours whole long slow way to get promoted. How many sick days our load, what are their benefit do you provide? Of course, this question may have the importance and you have the right to ask for clarification and anther before accepting a job offer. But asking them too early in the process makes you look more interests in the advantage and benefit, then in the job and responsibility, it will raise question about your true motivation on top of preparing question to ask usual, also prepared the commonly and frequently questions to answer. There are some classical questions that often come up in interior, such as, tell me about yourself, what is your qualities? What is a default? They need to be undiscovered. This question can be a little bit tricky, but don't panic. I therefore invite you to open your playbook and work on the so-called frequently asked questions. We provide you with guidelines on how to answer them with samples included. Whoever reading the answer is not enough, you need to practice them and rehearse a load. It is important as one thing is to think about them and know what to say and another to express them clearly orally. Sometimes our ideas are very right in our heads, but we have trouble communicating them fluently, verbally, you can practice in front of your friends or family who plays the role of the scooter. Or you can film yourself and where's your recording afterwards to correct the imperfection? Beyond the preparation of these classical questions, you must above all, know how to talk about yourself and past experience. For a successful interview, you need to master each element of your resume, your fingers, your task, responsibility results success. But knowing and mastering what is writing on your resume is not enough. So recruiter wants to know what is high then beyond your resume mentioned your what. In an interview, you should be able to explain all the context around it. That is, you should also be clear about what you gain from it. This Kills, gained difficulty on contoured and how you overcome them to this end, please refer to the playbook for guidelines on mastering your resume for the most relevant task and responsibility you have undertaken. You are going to list what you gain from it, as well as a difficulty you face, if any, and how you overcame them. There is an example including the playbook, so that you have an idea of how you should reflect on the element of your resume, the signal size we owe you to take a step back from your past experience to internalize what they brought to you, and therefore to lean on them during the interview. A lot of candidates during interviews speak in very general term. And use vague phrases to defend yourself. You need to provide specific example with fat and figures. The more precise and tangible example you can provide, the better it is. And that's when this preparation will come in handy. Once you are clear about what you have gained from your background, you need to know how to express it properly. Knowing how to talk about your skills and accomplishment is essential. Yet sometimes we struggle when expressing them in a poor fool and really went way. It can be difficult to give concise and read even insert to situational interview question, you know, that of the nature. Tell me about a time when what do you do when? Give me an example of a time, you know, this kind of question. The previous exercise will help you find really even examples quickly. And the star technique will help you explain it effectively. The start technique is a relevant method that can help you answer in a clear structure and concise manner. Star is the acronym for situation, the context, task, your responsibility, action, how you complete the task, result, what have you achieved? Other, the answer must be concise or the recruiter's attention will get lost in the way. Example. Give me an example of a situation in which you had a complete a task under a tight deadline. Example of answer using the star technique situation have been untruths with the baby shore of a very influential personality. She's someone who at the time and more than 800 K follower. The stakes were very high. Task in less than two weeks, I had to plan a baby shower with 350 guests with an unusual set of specification. Indeed, the mother to be had very precise and challenging requirements such as arriving on a chocolate thrown, having mermaid in the swimming pool, a wall of cakes and medieval decoration made of gold. Action. Doing two weeks, our work tirelessly. I called about 300 providers, night and day contact, more than 100 bakery, 123 to be really precise, to convince others to get involved, because it also meant a lot of work for them to do in only two weeks. I had to be persistent and determined to create a baby shower offer dream. But I was so stimulated by the desire to satisfy our customer and the stakes in term of image for the company. Result, we eventually succeed. We were all very satisfied because the client was over the moon. She was amazed and share her satisfaction with our community, which had of course a great impact on the made in brain earnings of the company. It's estimated that following that event, it generates 12 new opportunities in less than five months. It was truly gratifying and rewarding. After mastering your what, what is behind your what afternoon code to convey your story, the last step is to master your y. Besides mastering what's in your resume and the context around it, you need to be clear on the reasons that have taken you, Daniel, pass every component of your career as an underlying decision-making process. And you need to be clear on the factor you took into consideration. To do so, take some time to reflect on the following. Why did you study what you study? Why did you change jobs? It is the case. Why are you working in that particular industry? The exercise in the first section of the course will help you be clear on this front. 3. Guidelines during interview: During an interview, you need to create a bone, a James Bond, and with your interviewer, the person viz want to work with you. We usually spend more time with our colleagues than with our family. So you have to make the interviewer wants to work with you, talk with you, have a coffee break with you. Our employers hire peoples. Unlike, don't lock yourself in the serious candidates posture. You will create an emotional distance that will work against you. Let your personality speak as well. Remember that an interview is a conversation. Above all, the loquitur is here to understand your background and to know you as an individual, not only as a candidate, B, u be true, be human. You can perfectly combine professionalism and authenticity. The two are not mutually exclusive. In a nutshell, you have to create a human relationship so that at the end of the interview, the Roku just says, this person is competent, but also friendly, warm, and I want to work with them. They will integrate perfectly into the team. During an interview is a substance is important, but the form is also critical. This is encapsulated in your nonverbal communication. It relates to everything you communicates. That isn't word. Albert Mehrabian, professor of psychology, has established rule of 7%, 38 percent, 55 percent. According to him, the transmission of a message from words will only come for 7%, while tone and voice and will count for 38%. And most importantly, as a visual impression will count for 55 percent. Let's do the math. Nearly 93 percent of the message transmitted is done without using one word. So during an interview, be alert to this nonverbal communication, especially attention to your first and last impression. They are crucial is start with a handshake. Be firm, flabby and shake conveys the impression that you like energy and vitality. And it's the opposite from what a recruiter's seeks to perceive in an interview. When you enter into the interview room, wait before you sit down until the rural corridors suggest it. Sitting down before the recruiter's suggestion may perceive as rude or Keller's. Then stand up straight in the shirt to show you a dynamic active posture. Don't be like that. Don't cross your arm on your chest as it gives the impression that you are cools and defensive. Then always look at the row cutter in the eyes and be aware when there are several people maintain eye contact, which each of them, as everyone needs to fill, include taking into consideration, smile. During an interview you need to predict a positive and to the aesthetic dynamic image. And your smile is one of your biggest tool to help you achieve this. Smiling will help you generate a good impression on your interviewer. You will immediately appear more sympathetic to them. Take notes. I can never insist enough. Mini, mini, make the mistake of arriving empty ended. Police. Take, not taking, not show your professionalism and actively thing. Plus not you take will be really useful for the post interview email. We talk about that later. Wear clothes that will make you feel good about yourself and confidence. Looking good, hubs feeling good. Adapt your attire to dress. Go to your industry or the code of the company that you're applying for. A start-up might be more casual than a consulting firm. For example, avoid the following. Wrinkle, close, distracting accessories such as use bracelet that makes too much noise in the table or when you talk, you know what I mean? Too much perfume. The first image that you will send to the recruiter is very important. Indeed, the first impression will have a strong influence on the opinion that the Rakuten will make of you. It's positive. The record her during the interview will focus on all the elements to confirm their good impression is called the confirmation bias. To avoid any additional stress, find out in advance where the interview will take place and the direction together. Needless to say, you should not arrived late, but not too early either. If you arrive 20 minutes, 30 minutes early, you will portray the feeling that you don't know how to manage your stress? No, You shall. The sweet spot is ten minutes early. If it appears to you to arrive really early, just go to a coffee next to the interview. Please have your coffee one hour if you want. And then ten minutes after the interview, just go at the recruiter's contact information in your phone if case needed. And when your ID should it be required to enter the office? Take a bag with a notebook and a pen. If you're arrived with nothing, you display the image of a tourist, thereby chins, print and bring several copies of your resume, as well as literal recommendation and professional reference, if you have any, during the interview, remain positive. So recruiter's seeks to hire a person with good energy onto the aesthetic dynamic. If we're negative complaining and criticizing everything, you will not encourage people to work with you, and therefore, you want encourage them to hire you. If you are asked to talk about your previous job or why you are leaving, Don't start denigrating the job. The company is a task or your former manager focus on what you have learned to an every experience into a positive one. If you are negative and critical, your interviewer will believe that you will act the same way about the company, which will seriously compromise your hiring chins, how light, what motivates you instead of criticizing what bother you. A positive attitude is key to a successful interview. To succeed in an interview, you have to be able to lower your stress level. Stress is inductively part of an interview. Whoever stress can sometime be too intense and instead of being an asset, it can become a burden. So here are some quick techniques to help you turn your stress into excitement and positive energy. First, accept that stress is present and that is not a problem observing your emotions, although you to detach yourself from them and just by detaching yourself from your emotion, observing and seeing, Okay, I'm feeling stress. You can release tension. Second, remember that the interview is above all a discussion. Your interlocutor will have all interests to be pleasant if only for the reputation of the company. You also have the choice not to move forward in case the interviewer is an unpleasant person to talk to. It's always a two-way street. The router has to determine if you are the right person for the job and knew how to determine if the job in more detail. The interlocutor, the atmospheric feeling is also suitable for you. Three engage in a relaxation session before the interview. Whether doing exercise, meditating, listening to music, do what you know. We slow you down and will allow you to focus during the interview. Force in case of stress peak just before the interview, I invite you to do the 55 55 technique. Breathe five seconds. Hold your breath for five seconds. Let the air go in five seconds. Repeat the exercise seven to ten times and you will see your heart rate go down five. Do a visualization exercise. Visualization will allow you to better prepare for the interview and better manage stress. Visualization is a technique that choose the research of the imagination and intuition to improve performance and well-being. It is commonly used by athletes, performers, and high achievers in general. Why can visualization help you better cope with stress? Stress is a set of physical and psychological reaction linked to a protective mechanism. In principle, the purpose of stress is to enable an individual to react effectively in a dangerous situation. To doing stress is no longer associated only with danger, but more globally with the situation that the individual does not believe they can face or relate to an unknown situation, such as an interior. But if you convince your brain through visualization that the event is not unknown, but on the contrary, familiar and already experienced, then you will be less stress on D-Day fun fact, studies have shown that the brain does not differentiate between reality and imagination. It doesn't differentiate between a real memory and an imagined one. In other words, when you imagine a situation in detail, when you feel the motion, your brain will record it as if the experience is real. Close your eyes and set an intention example. I want to succeed in my interview. Then imagine the future situation. Make this as real as you can. The more specific and clear you picture the scene, the better it will be recorded in your mind as a memory imagines a place the recruiter visualize your outfit, what you feed your heart, beating, your hands, being a bit sweaty. Visualize yourself taking notes, visualize a Rakuten, looking at your resume. Visualize yourself talking about your background and motivation with fluidity. Try to be as precise as possible in your visualization. Visualize your interaction with the recruiter, your smile, and your eye to eye contact with them, visualize the satisfaction, pride, relief, and joy when you finish, emotions are critical in your visualization. So include positive emotions. Visual lasing your interview is a great way to really stress and visually in your success is a great way to arrive confidently on the D-Day. That if you have prepare yourself well for the interview and kill the IT that is really, and here's what's next. 4. Post interview - Leaving a positive impression: The interview is imperative to send a follow-up interview email. Very few candidate do this. So doing this will make you stand out from the crowd for the right reasons. Sending a post interview email is another proof of your professionalism and your interests in the job. This e-mail also demonstrate that you are a good listener and that you clearly understood the position and the issue at stake in this message, you will sync your interview war, but also in 23 sentences, highlight the key challenge of the positions. Hence, the interests in taking notes during the interview. These five elements should be included in your message. Thanking the person you had the interview with, recapping on the job-related tasks mentioned in the interview. Reassuring your expertise in relation to the job, emphasizing your interests, leaving your contact details. A template you can use for the post interview e-mail is available in the playbook. It's recommendable to send the e-mail within 24 hours except for Friday night or Monday morning. And recruitment is not a science. Sometimes you can have the feeling that it went well and get a negative answer. And on the other hand, you can be really surprised by a good answer you didn't expect. Still, there are some cool that even if they are not 100% reliable, can be a really good source of information. If for quitters promote the company, the task, or the position. If you feel that they are trained to sell user position, some hope it's a good sign if they ask you a bunch of availability your notice period, that also rather encouraging. And if he or her ask you about your current process and spontaneously mentioned the next step. That's a very good indication if you haven't heard back after one week or after the date of the recruiter has come in to get back to you, It's good to send a respectful follow-up e-mail. It's a shirt male in which you specifies a position. Reiterate your motivation. Ask about the process, state that you're available to provide more information. Our email should be assertive without being imperative, you shall say that you are motivated without something desperate. Please refer to the template available in the playbook in order to send your follow-up email. To know send you a follow-up on Monday morning of Friday evening in state m for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, it may be that the interview goes well and leads to a job offer. But unfortunately, the opposite can also happen. Any, it's important to be able to draw the positive from it first, develop a resilient mindsets. It's possible that you receive a negative answer for your Java applications, this negative response generates a lot of feelings. Disappointment, frustration, devaluation. Perhaps also interesting is anger. Even if this bitter feelings are legitimate, usual not remade. It says negative state of mind for too long. Considered the interview as an opportunity to learn into rural, turn your disappointment into determination, today's know will open the door to tomorrow. Yes. We were just mentioning that is important to be positive during the interview. Please keep this positive attitude after the interview. Develop a resilient mindset by fitting challenge with a positive approach. Failure is part of the success. Second, show professionally and ask feedback, understanding what went wrong is essential to progress. A negative answer is never pleasant, even more so when you don't understand the reasons, however, a negative responses should be seen as a source of learning, an opportunity for personal and professional development. Feedback helps transform disappointment into a constructive and formative experience. Making a mistake is necessary to make progress. Don't be shy to as a recruiter, it's a part of the job to give you constructive feedback, ask nicely and politely about what went wrong. Reassure them by explaining that you won't take that common to hurt. But on the contrary, you will be grateful as essential for you to address your flows in order to improve your performance. For your next interview, you can use a template available in the playbook. 5. Other interview formats: Variations of the interview stage don't change much in terms of preparation. All advice mentioned previously applies here, but there are additional tips and tricks that good knowing about if you are to embark yourself in one of these. 6. Phone interview: Mile even more on the phone. In a traditional phone interview, you can't use eye contact to convey a positive attitude with your interlocutor. Therefore, to be able to do so, you need to smile, sounds silly, but you can hear people's money through the phone. It sends an enthusiastic, engaged, friendly image of view and therefore give a positive impression. Set the tone on the phone. It is especially important to set the tone to put in 200 in your voice. If you have a monotone news and very low voice, your speech may bore and generate distraction for the recruiter. Get me said the tongue he opposed to also has an impact on your voice. The send-up straight on your share. You can even get up if you want. But above all, don't call sluggishly on your couch or sit on your bed because it will be heard on the phone and it won't put you in the dynamics and reactivity required for the interior. Make sure not to be disturbed. Make sure to turn off all notification from your phone to avoid distraction and turn off call waiting so that your coal cannot be interrupt, lead the rocketry call you if the time interview has been shallow, lateral Crito call you first. However, if after 10 minutes you still haven't received a call, advise you to contact the raw critter that will underlie your motivation. But before calling, check the time of the appointment again to make sure you have not made a mistake, leave one to two seconds before answering. In an interview where stress, we tend to talk fast, we don't send enough and we interrupt too often. But remember that the interval is above all an exchange. So take the time to listen and let your interlocutor finish their sentence during a telephone interview. Since we do not or interlocutor, it is sometimes more difficult to feel when they're finished speaking. So always leave one to two seconds before answering. Charge your phone and bring your charter. Make sure your mobile phone is charged. And if you decide to do this phone call outside your home, bring your charger with you. You never know. It's always better to plan ahead. 7. Video interview: Microphone and camera before him, before you interview, record yourself talking to make sure that both the video and audio work as expected. Not only will you be able to validate the correct functionality of your phone, laptop, or PC. You will also be able to spot subconscious master of your own that you want to avoid charged your device. This one is very important. Make sure the battery of the device you will be using will last during the interview. It can be a defining aspect if you unexpectedly drop the colon the middle of an interview for your dream job, as it shows your lack of preparation, make sure you have a fast and reliable Internet connection. Video interview is already challenging enough. Imaging one wherein you are constantly bringing up or lagging behind. So how do you make sure you have a fast and reliable connection? You can test the speed of your Internet ads BITNET point in it. It will render both download and upload speed. The internet speed recommended by Skype is 1.5 megabits per second for download and upload speed. If possible, repeated tests in the same place in which you will be doing the interview several times during the day. It will give you a better sense of the reliability of your Internet performance. Clothes, all irrelevant windows, tabs are apps. There is nothing more threatening to your train of thought. Then a push notification, new email or instant messaging, have the perfect setting. Few thing as knowing in this truck thing as a terrible setting. Make sure you have a good enough lighting. Avoid looking like you're in a cave, if possible, sit in front of a window. Nothing provides better lighting than or friend of best friend. Also set yourself up so that there is neutral background. Avoid standing in front of your Jell-O. Geneva was based poster or a montane of dirty dishes are messy bed. Dress, properly dress as you do for a traditional interview? And yes. Yes. That includes your pens to Don't be elegant on your upper body and grace less for your lower one. No, no, no. Take a few seconds before you answer. And doing a video interview, it's sometimes difficult to perceive when the recruiter has finished their sentence, like for the phone interview, take one or two seconds before you answer. In order to make sure the rocketry is done talking, you will avoid cutting them off and coming across a disrespectful or even both form. 8. Group interview: Interview aims to evaluate several candidate at the same time, asking them to solve a case study in a limited time. The aim is to analyze your behavior in a group, but also to assess your individual abilities. And the challenge of a group interview is to be able to stand out while adapting perfectly to the group. Each row critter, depending on the specific expectation, will have different assessment criteria. Some employers will look for a certain skills in particular, while other will give more weight to other qualities. Nevertheless, there are some immutable characteristic and common quality every worker Joe look for in a group integral, your ability to work in a team. Our analysis and synthesis skills. Your ability to meet the timing, your ability to listen, your ability to support your argument, your strain of conviction, your productivity. Keep in mind that you're evaluated on your personality much more than on your professional skills. You will probably be confirmed with the case today you have never dealt with before. What is more important is your methodology and interpersonal skills rather than the result itself. This is what I invite you to apply to make a group interview a success. Take notes, take notes all along the way. This shows you're listening skill, but also your methodology. It will also help you to structure, summarize your thoughts, reformulate, and conclude. We formulate and summarize regularly to show that you know where you are and where you are going. Conclude by summarizing what has been said and talking about the action plan. Listen, listen to other people's argument as your ability to listen is a quantity sold by recruiter's is also a sign of respect. So do not cut off other candidates, which doesn't mean remaining silent during the exercise is a recruiter's never his. You, you won't be spot. So common on other people's idea and present yours with conviction while remaining open to questioning value others idea, a good leader is also a person who knows how to value others. So if you find a relevant idea, say so, recognition in a company is one of the key factors in motivating employee. So knowing how to recognize a good idea is not taking the risk that and other people will still your place. But on the contrary, it is showing relational intelligence, quality thought by companies. This shows a good set of mine oriented towards collective success and group cohesion show with introspective during final discussions, after the group interview, the recruiter mass CUE, how you explain the exercise and what you sort of by your performance. Be careful not to release the pressure. You will also be evaluated on this point.
