About This Class

Well, Poll everywhere is a live interactive audience participation application, accessed through the internet, that allows learners to create multiple-choice or open-answer polls.  Students then respond to these polls using a web site, twitter or SMS text message – making classroom clickers a thing of the past!

The polls can be embedded within PowerPoint or Keynote, or learners can simply use the web interface.  The poll will update virtually instantaneously after the participants enter their votes, and the results can be displayed on the screen for all to see.

The inclusion of a poll everywhere activity within the classroom or lecture theatre gives your students or participants a more active role in their learning, and introduces engagement and interaction within lessons and lectures.

Responses can be anonymous, providing a safe environment for reluctant students to feel more included and they can also be used to check your students understanding and comprehension.

Students are even able to download a poll everywhere app, which can be used to respond to polls.

The use of poll everywhere also helps students with their listening skills, encourages discussion with their peers and makes learners feel a part of the lesson or lecture.

The data that is collected within the classroom can be analysed and reviewed, and could even be used to improve your presentations and lectures in the future – so for example you could ask a feedback question of the audience in one lecture and use that data to make the next lecture focus more upon subjects identified in the poll.

Poll Everywhere contains multiple layers of subscription, but the basic package is free, and will allow business users up to 25 responders and higher education and k-12 education users up to 40 responders.

This class will teach you all the features and amazing polling options, using poll everywhere, including Creating new polls, configuration of response options, sharing and presenting tips and tricks!

I then moved on to work as a Learning Technologies officer for Coventry University London Campus, and then a Virtual Learning Environment Manager during my 4 years a...
