Create an illustration on the theme "Before and After."

ASSIGNMENT

Your assignment is to create an illustration based on the theme "Before and After."

  • Theme:  Feel free to take your interpretation anywhere you like. You may want to illustrate each of the words, or both together, or even the space between them. Think about characters, places, narratives, and ideas. Give yourself time to explore until you find an interpretation that excites you.
  • Materials: Experiment with different media. Embracing new materials is so important as you're finding your style. You may work traditionally or digitally, or mix the two as I demonstrate in the class.

Remember: Style should serve your purpose, whether it's narrative, conceptual, or both.

DELIVERABLE

Use your Project Workspace to share your steps and process. I'd like to see:

  • Brainstorming
  • Sketches and style tests
  • Final piece
