Project Description

Illustrator for Lunch™ - Pattern Know-how

Your project for this class is to find a pattern to use from either Illustrator's pattern collection or one you find and download from online. Create two rectangles and fill both with the same pattern. In the second rectangle change the pattern's scale or rotation or move it (or do all three!). Then recolor it and post an image of both rectangles here.

If you want to learn to create your own patterns Click here to go to my Illustrator for Lunch (on a pattern making Safari) class on making patterns in Illustrator.

To extract files from a RAR file in Windows (often patterns are shipped in rar compressed files) you will need an unextract tool. Two free ones are Free RAR Extract Frog and 7 Zip.

Click here to download the DesignFruit patterns used in the videos.
