Project Description

Create your own portrait of someone you’d like to celebrate!

Assignment

Choose a subject that you’d like to pay homage to—consider a friend, family member, or a cultural figure. Then, after gathering references and doing some preliminary sketches on paper, transfer your drawing to Illustrator and make it come to life with color, typography, and patterns.

Be sure to share your work in the class project gallery for inspiration and feedback!

Deliverables

  • Your main portrait
  • At least two reference or inspiration materials
  • Process sketch of your work
