1. Welcome! :): Hello, my name is Christine and welcome to your new Procreate illustration course. You will feel refreshed creating this colorful coffee time illustration. All that you need for this course is the iPad, the Apple pencil, and the procreate app is Course is made to be very easy to follow. You don't need to have any experience in using Procreate. By the end of the course, you will learn how to use different layers and beautiful colors to create your own wonderful artwork. You will discover very useful tools to help you create in your own unique style with all of that being said, welcome to the course. 2. Beautiful bush: For this course, you will need a canvas that is 4000 by 4000 pixels. Let's create Canvas. This will give you 12 layers to work with. You can download the coffee time color palette from the project resources page, as well as the Armen brush going on the background and clicking on a beautiful cream color on the second row. And straight on with the pencil, you can start to draw a beautiful oval with turquoise closing its form and then hold your pencil down, click on Edit Shape and make the oval a little bit more weight on the right side. And then you will drag the color onto the shape to fill this form with color. After that, you can start by adding another over onto the right side, holding the pencil down and then you can drop the turquoise color as well. Another beautiful shape this time, just imagine for beautiful curves, living a valley in the middle. And then you will drop the color. You can go and click on the Move tool in the left top corner and start using the rap too and drag the corners to make the shape a little bit more interesting and beautiful, drag the sides as well and the top just like this. And you can make the top right side a little bit taller. Once you've done that, you can go onto the brush and going to the spray paints. After that, you'll go to the layers and alpha lock the first layer. Then with the spray paints, you can see it looks quite wonderful, but it's not dark enough. It needs a little bit more dark. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Once you touch the halfway point, you can start to decrease the size of the brush. And then you will start going on the sides of the beautiful curves, nicely going along the edges from between the curves to give them a little bit more volume. Then he will grab the lighter turquoise and make sure the tapes of the curves are clean and bright. So going from the right to the left side, make sure every tip of the curve make a nice round form. Once again, going to the brushes and selecting the Almand from the inking brush this time and the dark turquoise. So decreasing the size of the brush and the flow as well, choose the darkest turquoise color and just draw a line, splitting the curve in two parts. And then followed by three lines on to the right side and one more onto the left side. Then you will move to the next one on to the left and repeat the process, drawing a straight line until you meet the bottom. And now going down the middle of the fourth, adding two more lines. On the left side. You can go as fast as you want, or as slow as you want. Add two more on the right and one more on the lower part. This time, a little bit thicker and shorter. 3. Colored circles : You will start with the hormone brush and start with the beautiful blue right in the middle of the color palette. Once that is done, you can start to draw in some beautiful circles. You can increase the flow of the brush so it has a 100 percent and then start making a beautiful circle. Whereas the circle is done, you can edit the shape, making it a little more round. Then you can grab the color and drop it inside the circle. And then just like that, making another circle holding the pencil down. And then added the shape, making it a little bit more round and then dragging the color onto the shape so it's filled. So zooming out and then going onto the bottom left side, this time making a circle, a little bit more circular, editing the shape and making it a little bit bigger and oval. And now you can go and select the wonderful yellow and the coroner. With this beautiful yellow, you can move on the top right and make another circle and then just drop the color in. Now you will go down right next to the blue circle and make another beautiful circle editing a little bit so it doesn't compete with the blue circle and then dropping the color down. Keeping in mind, this is a very good lesson to know. Small shapes go very well with big shapes. So you don't have them compete with each other. Now going and dropping the next miracle just below the blue circle and another small beautiful circle on the left side of the top blue circle, making it small and round, zooming out and checking live. We are pleased with the result and then adding one more small circle to break the repetition. And once that is done, you can go into the layers and set on Alpha Lock. Once you've alpha lock the layer go into the colors, then you will select the second yellow color paint. Choose the medium nozzle, drop down the flow, as well as the size because the circles are very small and start making the shadows onto the bottom right side of the yellow circle, gradually covering it until you reach the middle of it to create a beautiful texture. And going for the next two beautiful circles. First going from side to side and making a beautiful texture and shadow it, increasing the flow, giving them a little bit more depth. Now you will move to the next yellow circle on the top side. Then you will shadow the bottom left side of it nicely countering the edge circle there that the yellow circles are done. You can go to the colors and select a lighter blue. This time, since you have used the darker shade. Now you can add the highlight that needs to be a circle that sits on the top left side of the shapes. So you will go and make the blue circle to give it a little bit of highlights and texture. Continuing onto the left side for the next blue shape, highlighting the right side of the little oval living just small stripe off the darker blue on the bottom. 4. Decorative plants: For this step, you will need to create another layer on and going in with a beautiful light blue zooming on the right side and start drawing with inking. Brush. Just going and creating a beautiful curved line with a circle at the end and two upside down tear drops, one on the right side and the other one on the left side, and another one lower onto the right side. Very simple shapes. Once the shapes are created, you can start to make the stem a little bit thicker and that carefully drop the color just so it fill in the shapes. Then you will go on to the layer and you will duplicate the last layer. Once you have done that, you can go on to the move to the left corner and click on Uniform and flip it horizontally, moving it to the left, rotating by grabbing the small little green circle and then making it a little bit bigger. Once you've done that, you can go in and merge the two layers, going and selecting the yellow, and then making a curved line going with a curve towards the right. And then start adding a couple of teardrop leaf starting from the middle of the line. And then one smaller going up and then a bigger one calling on the left side. Another beautiful shape on the right side. And the very, very tiny shape at the end of the stem. Then you will go and drop the color on leafs carefully, grabbing the color nicely, going down until you feel all the forms. And making the stem a little bit thicker. Just so it has a little bit more stability going on the S-shape and the left top corner. And grab just the yellow shape and then click on the Copy Paste. This was done with the free hand selection tool. Once it's selected, you can copy and paste selection. Then you will select the Move tool and flip the shape horizontally and move it to the left side and a little bit lower. Once you've moved it lower, you can click on the wrap tool and just distort the beautiful shape in order to make it seem like it's a lot more different than the first one. You can distort it and play around with it. Let's find the position where it feels just in the middle, okay, once you've done that, this step is done. 5. A plate for a cake: For this step, you will need to create another beautiful layer, merge the branches together, and now go on to the newly selected layer with the blue from the middle of the color palette. And then you will go to the bottom, a shape, our novel form. Then you can add it the shape making it a little bit more horizontal and quite a bit more flat. Dragging gets corner outside. Then you will grab and drop in the color and then add another beautiful circle on the top, making it a little bit bigger, this time, fitting it nicely just above the one from below. Then he will continue by adding two beautiful lines. One on the right and the other one to the left side of the plate. And then dropping in the color to create the beautiful plate. Now you can alpha lock that layer, then go to a beautiful middle gray and start creating an oval on the top of the plate. And hold the pencil down until it snaps into place and creates a beautiful oval. Once the oval is created, editors shape and get it as close as possible, moving it a little bit more high and dragging the corners, going and dropping the color in. Once you've done that, you can go ahead and go on the selection tool. Then you will select automatic, hold the pencil down and drag the pencil to the left and delete, select just the bottom color. Now you will go with the brush with the darker blue medium nozzle and drop the brush size, making some shadows, starting on the right side and then going a little bit into the middle and then on the left side and the bottom of course, just like that going in the middle line, just to add a little bit more variety. Undo the As, and then select the lightest color, the lightest gray. And with the same medium nozzle you can go in and add some light to the back of the plate. Just creating some beautiful highlights on the backside of the plate. 6. A glass of coffee: For this step, you will need to create another beautiful layer and drop it below the plague. Once you've done that, go into the brushes. Inking and hormone brush. Once you've selected it, go into the size of the brush as well as the color. Then you will select a light gray drawing at the bottom and creating a small oval. Hold the pencil down and then click on the edit shape to squish it down a little bit more, making it a tiny bit smaller. This will be the bottom of the glass. Now you will go and create the left side of the glass way, the straight line. Then you will go to the right side trying to keep the same angle. If the shape is good, you will go and create a circle on the top. Hold the pencil down and position it as well as possible. And then go into the edit and make it quite horizontal and a little bit more flat. Then you will go and drag the color to the middle, then to the top and the bottom as well, dropping the color in. Then you can go into the eraser and erase a little bit of the corner, just making the illustration look clean. Now you will pick a lighter gray and add the top. You can create an oval, holding the pencil down and dragging it until it fits the top, you will just hold the pencil down and move it to the left until the form you want to color is filled. After that, you can go on the layer's alpha, lock the layer, and select this wonderful read from the middle and start drawing the coffee. Start making an S-shape going from the left to the right, then you can drop the color on the bottom half of the class. Once you've created that, go into the lighter colored just next to the brown color and start making the backside of the liquid, trying to make it as high as the curve on the left, going back to the brown color of the coffee and into the brush medium nozzle. Then you will go on automatic from the ass to select just the bottom color and track your pencil to the left until its legs, the bottom half of the liquid, once you've done that, you will go onto the brush. And with the medium nozzle, you can start to add some highlights. Make the brush a little bit bigger and start adding some highlights to the middle of the coffee, going into the darker color at the top just to accentuate the edge. Okay, once you've done that, then you click back on the S2 and undo the alpha lock. Then you will click on the darkest color, the blue turquoise color, and start making a straw. We'll use the oman brush. Then you will go over here and start from the left side with a straw just inclined, holding your pencil down until it's straightens. Then you can go and position it a little bit more to the center and drag it down from the bottom until it hits the corner of the class. After you have done that, you can go in and add another line just to create the thickness of the straw. Then you will go to the spray paints medium nozzle, and then pick the dark coffee color and start drawing a little bit over the straw. Just make it a little bit more transparent. Dropping down the flow and then covering more of the bottom part of the straw has her dad you can go into the lighter color and cover a little bit more of the straw, keeping just a little bit of the short still visible. Going to the inking brush, TL mom brush, selecting the color of the straw again and start making the straw a little bit thicker and a lot more straight. Once you've done that, you can zoom out and see if it needs a little bit more work. And there you go with this step as well. 7. The cake : For this step, go on the plate layer, click on the Move tool, and then you can start making the plate a little bit wider. Click on the Star Tool and grab the top and make it a little bit more flat, since is not a ball but the blade. After you've done that, you can drag it and make it a little bit more straight. Then you will go into the layers and add another layer. Going on the brush taking give the element 2 is selected and grabbed. Beautiful medium sandy color and zoom on the plate. Once you're zoomed on the blade, you will start to make a beautiful rectangle. After you've done the shape, hold the pencil down and click on Edit shape. Then you can drag the corners a little bit to make it look straight. This will be the base of the cake. Then you will go to the top corner and drag the color into the forum. After that, you can zoom in a little bit just to make it a little more straight with the help of the eraser, getting rid of the imperfections, going into the Layers and alpha locking layers going into a beautiful darker color and start making a thin line on the left side of the cake. Just like that, holding the pencil down and until it's a straight line, move it just a bit on the right and then go at the bottom until it's a straight line. And then click on Edit Shape and move it down just so it is a little bit thinner. Click in the middle and make another straight line. Go into the beautiful orange color from the bottom right corner and start adding another straight horizontal line. Hold the pencil down, and then extend the line by going onto the Added shape and extended to the left, so it goes outside the cake. This will be the strawberry filling inside the middle of the cane drawing. Then you will add another beautiful line and then drop the color in the middle of the rest of the filling. After that, you will go into the color sense like a beautiful light orange going to the S2 on automatic and grab the middle selection of the cake. Once you've done that, you can go onto the brush and create some beautiful strawberries. First, draw a line at the bottom and then go and make a strawberry just coming out of this beautiful line. And at the top on the right side create a bigger strawberry and a smaller one in the middle. And on the left side, another one make them different sizes, so they have a little bit more variety. Now going for the darker orange and make the brush a little bit smaller and start making an outline around the strawberries. Keeping mine, this is still selected with the S2. So that's why it doesn't go outside. Once you've done that, go into the lightest orange from the bottom and start adding in the middle of the strawberries, adding some of this light color just in the middle. And the last one on the left side. Then you will unselect the as two and you will go to the lightest sandy color and you will make some beautiful data onto the cake. Just too, add a little bit of variety and interests to the cake. Making a circle and another one on the right and a bigger one going to the top side and making a few more circles. Trying to vary the size and the shapes a little bit. Then you will start to drop the color, starting with the bottom half of the cake. And for the smallest one is just a bit harder, but you can do it if you zoom in a little bit more, going on the left for the last two circles at the bottom. 8. The frosting: For this step, you will start by adding another layer. This will be the layer of the frosting on the cake. Checking if the brush is the same used before. Grab the lightest gray color and on the top jaw straight line on the newly created layer. Then you can hold it on to make the line straight. Then from the right side of the line you will draw another one at the top, making a beautiful proof for the cake that is a little bit inclined to the left. Once you've done that, you can go ahead and close the triangle with a curved line. Hold the pencil down until it's a beautiful curved line. Then you will click on Edit Shape and added this beautiful arc dropping in the color inside the triangle. And then you will add some of this frosting to the left side of the cake as well, going in and creating a little bit more frosting onto the left side, just so it seems like the cake has frosting coating. Now you can zoom in and erase the bottom of the frosting, as well as going in with the brush and create some beautiful curved lines on the left side of the frosting, slowly making the curves and then dropping some color inside the forums. Just so he has nice decoration on the left side. And for the last one, dropping the color inside the form. Going on the color and selecting the lightest sandy color. Then you will drop down the flow and increase the size of the brush. And then once you've selected the alpha lock on the layer, you can start giving the top of the cake and nice sandy hue. Cubic curves on the left side, untouched. And then because of the flow is lowered, you can add another color in the middle, creating another shadow. And there you go with this beautiful and simple step as well. 9. Strawberry on top! Thank you ! :D: And for the last beautiful step, merge down the frosting on the cake and add another beautiful layer. And once you've done that, select these beautiful pink in the middle, grab the brush, make it a little bit more saturated and wide. And then you can start creating the shape on the top of the frosting. This will be a rounded shape on the left side and it will have a pointy and on the right side, make sure the flow of the brush is at 100%. And in case your shape is not a shape of a strawberry, you can start giving it's shaped by clicking on the move to make it with the rap to a little bit more strawberry shake, drafting a little bit more down and making that beautiful, pointy end on the right side of the strawberry. Click on the lightest version of this color. Go on spray paints, medium nozzle. Click on the layer. Then you can alpha lock the layer and start adding some highlights to the strawberry. Then you can click on the brush, on the Armen brush and go on to the darker coffee color and start on the darker pink CR. Making these beautiful shapes are a couple of small rounded lines. Just like you see on all strawberries. The little places where the seeds of the strawberries are placed. And as they go to the side, take a curve and a little bit down to the tip. Going on the top and the bottom side, and at the end, add a little bit smaller ones on the top. Once the little shapes are done, you can go and undo the alpha lock. Then you will go to the colors and grabbing a medium turquoise, zooming in a little bit more and making a line to starting the strawberry on the top and with a couple of curved lines just making a couple of beautiful leaves on the top of the strawberry. Then you can fill them with a color, either with the brush or dropping in the color from the corner. Then you will go on the ASU and click on the color, select the lightest color, and drag the bottom slider towards the green. This will give you a little bit of a beautiful yellowish green with the screen selected. Go on the brush and select spray paint, and then medium nozzle. And start adding a beautiful highlight to the top of the strawberry leaves. And with that, then you have now finished their wonderful coffee time illustration. Look how beautiful it looks. Thank you for taking this course and see you in the next one.
