Project Description
Share your lettered book cover!
Follow along and design a new book cover for a beloved book. Share your brainstorming list, audience notes, concept ideas, sketches, layouts, and final work: we want to see it all! As a reminder:
- Choose a book you love — but that also gives you a lot of visual ideas!
- Read your book, keeping messy notes as you go.
- Expand your reading notes into a full brainstorming list.
- Next up: audience. What are three possible audiences for your book?
- Narrow down your concepts to 1-3 to move forward.
- Then, sketch your initial, rough thumbnails.
- Create a structural layout to plan your final piece.
- Sketch basic letterforms into your layout.
- Finalize your letterforms, adding style details as you go!
- Choose and add color to your piece.
- Add final details and ornamentation to your letters.
- Share your final cover!
