1. About this class: Hi there. I'm Lovre are scientists with a patient for arts, especially for watercolor paintings. I'm currently leaving in the Amazon rain forest and nature here inspires me every day. At the moment I'm filming Is the time off Corona virus but a rebuild pandemic affecting all around the world Apparently, art, it's the last thing to consider at this stage. But I'm sure you agree with me. That is not true art really else to run away from stress and worry about the situation we are leaving. So with this class, I hope to bring you a little moment off joy. In this class you will learn how easy can be painting a monster relief in water colors. At the end of these cores, you will learn one off the most famous watercolor techniques that is wet on wet. Materials needed: Let's see the material we need for this glass first a pencil and on the razor to draw the most. A relief done. We're going to use brushes to different brushes. One is a medium brushes. I'm using the court mont round brushes, and we also need a small one. So they says the small one. Then off course, we need the water colors, just orange and indigo. So just two colors. We're going to prepare the green with these two colors. You can also use them on on pen, as I'm showing there or in tube, as you prefer. No, no problem. Then we need a pallet. I mean, no, sorry. First the secondary veins. So the secondary veins are simply the vein that will give to our leave a more natural effect. So, for example, I'm going to show you we are going to draw these secondary veins simply living Ah, white space between leave fingers. So, to do the head, we simply draw very soft line to represent the secondary veins. So one lines close to another one, and then these lines will be wide, completely white, so no color will be applied to this part. Okay, then will do the same on the right side. So this are the two main colors we're going to use orange and indigo. And let's see how, mixing them we'll obtain. Very beautiful green, a dark green. Let's do this and a little bit of water. Okay, so now let's feeling with water. Okay, So now with a small brush, apply again the color on the board on the ages. So as you can see, the counter, um, is flying very slowly and very beautiful on the water. So the wet paper and the war and the wet color allows you to allow you to obtain these amazing situation. Then has you say I have year also the blue and the orange. And if you pick up a little bit off orange, you can apply it and give some natural effect to believe. Not too much off course and no to less but the right amount of and then you gently apply water and color, and this is allow you to obtain these results. 6. Leaf painting_Layer 1: in this video, we're going to paint the most a relief. We're going to do it layer by layer. At the end, we're going to paint three different layers. So let's get started with the 1st 1 that is done with a very bright green. So in my palette, I have take a little bit off my first green, the green we made during the first exercise. And ah, yes, diluted with lots off water. Lord let off water. So I have a very bright great. So I'm going to use this green for the first layer. Now I'm going to assume the paint. So let's get started and have fun. First thing first is to apply water. So over there, clean water on this part off the leaf. Remember to apply the right amount of water. No, I'm going to use the little brush on take the diluted green and I'm going to apply it just on the border, on the edges. Sorry. Off the leave. If the color is very, very diluted has mine. So now we're going to repeat the same on these spots, So I'm going to apply a layer off clean water. Is it possible that during the process off applying water your starting point is is going to drive very fast. So no problems Simply go back to it and wet it again. Don't forget. Don't forgot to. Don't forget to, um that the secondary veins has to have to stay in white and so no water and no paint will be applied. Okay, so now the paper is wet And let's apply the color the diluted green as a general idea, Don't don't apply color on the centre on this part off. Believe because we want to say a little beat. Ah, white. Because this allows to to obtain at the end. Ah, more realistic effect off, believe. And so basically, we're going to apply the color just on the edges, off the leave and close to the primary to the main vein like this. Okay. And so Now go on and on and take your time to Doody's. Relax. It's a very good way to to take a time for yourself to relax a little beat. We know that the pandemic period is very hard for most of us. And so painting. You also have to edge color. Great. So now I'm going to speed up the process. 7. Leaf painting_Layer 2: great. Now we're going to change the second layer off the monster relief. So and this is how we're going to play in the second layers. So up to the 1st 1 So the first step is to applying, um, clean water on the section s. So we're going to paint the leave by sections between secondary veins. So has, first we apply our clean water all around thes section. So has we said, uh, in the previous video is very important to apply the right amount of water that means not to march and now to less so this allows to obtain a very beautiful spreading off the water color. No, we're going to pick up the green were previously prepared mixing orange on indigo. And so, um, this is the green we're going to apply. So is simply cover the edges off the section Previously wet en gently a and gently go all around leave. But but just on the edges. So on the teapot believe And also in the section close to the primary vein to the main vein . As I'm doing right now, that's it. So gently applying the color just on close to the main vein and on the tip off the section , that's all. So now go to the next section to din Axa leave finger and repeat the same process. So we're going to gently apply Ah, layer off clean water old around the section as I'm doing now, and we're going to repeat the same process until painting the old leave is very relaxing, in my opinion, because it is a very repeated process. And ah, to me, it is very very. I mean, I I enjoyed very much this process because it's a very good way to relax Duren painting. Okay, so apply the water is I'm doing also around the hole that we know that is a very good A very typical shape off the monster relief. Great. So now be cup again the green. And as we did before, simply apply the Kander on the on the edges of the wet section. So be careful to avoid at color on the secondary veins, because these veins ham have to stay white. And so no color, no water. Go on the secondary veins. Okay, So, as you see gently, I'm gently applying the color close to the principal vein to the main vein and then on the simply on the on the cheap, off the leave and look how the water counter is spreading into the water. This is very beautiful. And this is the most characteristic, um, aspect off what colors. They basically dance with water. And I really do it because when water color is stuck in the water, it really dances. It really dances and helps you to paint. So is a kind off collaboration between you and the water counter. So if you want is I'm doing here, you can also use the small brush just to paint details. And now so now we're going to repeat the process and I'm going to speed up the video. So see, on few minutes, - Okay , Now we're going to add a little bit off orange to give to leave are more realistic effect. So be cup a little bit off or in, and just add some line year and there can be close to the secondary vein or close to the old. I mean, where where do you prefer? But just a touch will give a more realistic effect to the leave. So mixing green and orange and now we'll continue with the process. I'm going to speed up. Your beauty is the second layer 8. Leaf painting_Layer 3: Let's jump now into the layer. Number three. This is the appearance off the third layer. As you see in the center, we have a dark color and also on the the external part. So we're going to do this right now for the first for a fair earlier. We're going to use green and also indigo, as I previously prepared on on the palate. And so this is the two color, uh, we're going to use as we previously learned. The first cell is to apply. Um, water, clean water. So a layer off water on the paper. So now I pick up clean water, then simply what? The paper correspondent on the part we're going to to paint like this. So be careful. Two don't add water on the secondary vein because otherwise, because he test stay white. Okay, so now the party is a wet No is the time to add the green as data for the 1st 2 layers, I add green just on the part central central section of believe very near to the main vein , like I'm doing now, because this will help to obtain a three dimensional appearance off the leaf. So by adding watercolor on the center and on the external part. We're going to ever white space or more clear space along the leave, and this would create these three dimensional appearance. Now I had a little bit off indigo just a little bit because it's a very dark color. And so just some sports here and and there. Great. Now move on to the to the second section. I mean, the the lead singer, as I did before, I had clean water and I wet the section, in my opinion, is very, very relaxing because even if you have to repeated several times, but it's very, very relaxing and it creates a very good connection between you and the paper and the paintings are I really enjoy this part to repeat again and again the same process. Okay, so now we have applied the water clean water, and so with the the small brush, I take a little meat off green and I repeat the same process. So I apply the color just on the lateral part off the leaves. In this case, the left part just on the on the on the edge, on the T properly and of course I can pain till so lying into to define the leave off course. It's it's fine. And then I do the same on the center, on the center. I mean in the the part, very close to the main vein. So look how the leave it's This is just peering more three dimensional. Just adding a little bit of dark color on these two parts. The center, indeed lateral part ever. Now the indigo here and there. Some spots. And this is fine. That's perfect. So be careful with the small brush to avoid painting that second everything. And that's great. So now we're going to repeat you to the same process again and again until will where we're We've covered the the old the entire life. So again, enjoy the process unchanging the recording position. Uh, so I can I can show you that What is the right amount of water? You have to apply on the paper. So look at these days. This is very useful to see. So as you say, as you see, it's shining. But but not too much. I mean that there's not water dropping about the wet. The paper is simply wet So this is the amount of water that allows to obtain a very nice transition. Very nice spreading off the water colors into the paper. So just please f practice do exercise because just painting and do it. Um, just through this, you will be able to achieve the right amount off water. Okay, so then when at the end, off the water layer, we're going to repeat the same process as before. So edgy, the color green and the do you go on the center part? I mean, close to the principal. Very. I get green. I had a little bit of indigo. Some spot you on there harmed it with the with the small brush. I'm going to control very well the details between leaves. And so it's This is a reason why at this stage on the third layer, we're going to use small brush and not the the big one.
