Project Description

Upcycle an Old Shirt or Dress Into a Bow Tie!

We love seeing old things being made new again. This project is all about taking something you may have eventually thrown out and letting it be loved again.

Find a fabric from your wardrobe you want turn into a bow tie or alternatively get down to a thrift shop and grab something cool!

Adjust the template provided either in Adobe Illustrator or by hand after printing. Some ideas are provided in the PDF.

Deliverables

  • Share a photo of which garment you’re using.
  • Template ideas and/or final template you come up with.
  • A photo of the finished bow tie.

Things you’ll need:

  • Sewing machine
  • Iron
  • Old garment
  • Thread
  • Pencil/pen
  • Iron on Interface (optional)
  • Knitting Needle (or similar long non-pointy implement)
  • Sewing Scissors
