Body language is very powerful communication tool because it shows our intentions and emotions, it makes all the conversation smoother because the person who is a skilled decoder of body language can recognise when others are nervous, upset, sad, happy etc and because of that skill can adjust his behaviour to make the conversation smoother.

Everybody of us knows the people who are always ready to talk, who always know what to say, how to say and everybody like them, you can totally be one of them when you learn how to properly use your body language.

In this small course, I will tell you basics about reading body language principles, I will talk about reading intentions of people and how is it projected in the orientation of the body. Then I will speak about the importance of eye contact and why is it acknowledging tool for us and at the end, I will tell you how to put everything together and how to start implementing it into your casual life.

Hi and welcome. I am Martin Semerad and I am a communication coach specialising on nonverbal communication or otherwise body language. My story starts when I was about 14 years old when I, by accident, found out there something more behind a spoken communication, that there is a nonverbal part which is insanely influential. 


As I was pretty young I made my parents buy a book on the subject, the book was written by James Borg and it was my first intended touch with body language since then I have been deepening this knowledge and skills, for a couple of years I have been only studying and absorbing information, after that, I started the journey of transforming my life with this skill.

1. Introduction: Hi, everybody is Martin, somewhere out here, your body language coach and expert. I'm interested in body language and in this mini series on this website and on all my profiles, I'm going to teach you more about body language. I would like to spread the knowledge about body language because language is very important part of communication of conversation. Somewhere inside cells that the banner language is about 60% of the whole communication. I think this is not exact. It's changing weather, the purpose of communication, but it's definitely very, very important. Because there are some messages. For example, when you are fighting someone, this is just a bunny language communication and you know what the other person wants to tell to you. And you know that the other person know what do you want to tell him? You want to beat him and he wants to beat you to is pretty simple. And it's that simple even without words. On the other hand, there are types of communication where body language is not important at all. It might reach a 0% of that communication. And that's, for example, when you are talking to someone about sound philosophical problem. In this discussion, that's probably not very important. How do you say, what do you say? But there is important and what you actually say, the meaning of the words are very important in these important discussions. So this is a very nice example where you can see how the percentage of importance of body language and communication is. On the, on one side there is a communication where you speak only with your body. And on the other hand, there are types of communication where you don't really need your body to communicate, but you need specially the war. So via this channel, I'd like to introduce importance of body language to you, importance of nonverbal communication and communication at all. So I hope you're going to enjoy this journey with me here. And let's start doing that. 2. Body Language of Intentions: So let's start with reading intentions of other people. It's pretty simple to read intentions of other people because our brain, our body, shows that pretty easily. When we like something, when we want to get something, we want to get the closest way to dat. So it means that our mind is going to remove all the obstacles and it is going to try to get the closest to that. The closest easiest way to get there. On the other hand, when we don't like something, we are going to turn, turn away from that. So in this moment you can feel that I am talking to you. I want to be with you there. So my Bonnie is pointed to the camera to you. On the other hand, if I would be sitting like that and talking some place, they're not even talking to your baby. You would feel that there is no bond between us. And that's the technique how to read intentions of other people. And you are going to talk to someone and you are going to support that that person is pointed to you, you know, that his intention is to talk to you and you are going to call it that that person is aware, think away from you. You know, that his mind want to be someplace else. It might be because he doesn't want to be with you or it might be because he needs to catch a bus to go to work, for example. And there are three main eras or the body which demonstrate this intentions. And it's had torso and a feed. The importance is with the photo part of the body from Brian. So it means a feet. Where does the feed points? They're actually intention of that person flows because feet are though for a part of body from a brain. And the brain doesn't voluntarily control that very much. So it means that feed Conway very strong, very important involuntary messages. So when we are, when you will learn how to read a feed, you will be pretty much very good at reading body language. When you are going to spot that the feat of person are going to be like that and directed to you. You know, that's fine. But on men, you will notice that the feed of the personnel like that, for example, you might be pretty sure that that person wants to go this direction because his food wants to go this direction. And he's not doing that voluntarily because it's the first part of the body from brain. So it's involuntary message and it doesn't lie. So he wants to go this way. So pay attention to that and you will be very good at it. 3. Acknowledgement : Next very important part of reading body language is reading an eye contact and smiles. These are very, very important signs and body language because side, when we see something, we acknowledge that it actually exits because our eyes are the most perceptive parts of the body. So it means that we accept the most information's why our eyes. So it means that when we pay attention to someone, when we actually look at someone, we are acknowledging that that person is actually there. So when you are going to talk to somebody and that person is not going to give you a look, is not going to look at you. Very often lie, as it usually is comfortable. That is going something wrong. That person doesn't want to acknowledge that he's talking to that person doesn't want to be there with you because when you look someone to the eyes, you are bonding with that person. You feel that that person is actually direct with you. So it means that when you are breaking their patterns, you are doing the exact opposite of that. You are breaking that bond. And that's not very good when he wants to create a good relationships. And it's good when you want to like ruin DADT or be perceived as a not very nice person. So be aware of amount of eye contact you are getting from someone and there is definitely something you are experiencing on daily basis. For example, when you know someone and you are passing by on a street and that person doesn't look at you, you feel that there is something wrong, that it's not, it's not alright, as it could be, as it should be. And he might just not see you, but you see that, you feel that very strongly. It's very strong emotion that, that person doesn't acknowledge, doesn't, no, you doesn't notice you. And that's the power of side. And on the header, on the other hand, when you are passing by with someone and you look at each other, You feel that bond, that there is something deeper, something stronger, and eye contact is very deeply connected with a smile. By my opinion, smile is the most powerful body language signs, the most powerful communicated or at all. And I have a lot of stories I would, I achieved with just a smile. But let's save it for next time. You will definitely know boda from my blog, on my website. So if you would like to definitely go and check it, but by smile, you are getting closer to the people you are acknowledging that you are just a human, you are friendly and you are easy-going. And these signs are very important for everybody. Everybody wants to see the signs when they are approaching someone. And even in that person is not very nice at you and you are smiling to him. Screwed up. You are happy. He's not, it's not your problem. So be happy. Smile to everybody when there is a reason why to smile, Of course, not all the time. You would look like an idiot if you would like, if, if we would smile all the time. But it's another topic as well. So eye contact and smile are very important when you want to bond with someone. When you want to acknowledge the person is actually there. And when you want to go deeper in your relationships, think about that. 4. Put It Together: And now there are a couple of tips how to put everything together and make it work and make it a great observer of body language and great user of body language. And you're observing body language, you have to think about bigger picture. You can't take just one movement and sign some meaning to that. It's not very clever, not very wise. So I wouldn't recommend to do that. And you, you're observing body language, you have to find clusters of behavior. It means that you have to find three, at least three messages, three button language clues that support the same acid. So if you would like to know that that person doesn't like you, you would have to, for example, find three clues that suggest that it means you will have to find a lot of fake smiles. For example, breaking eye contact quite often, and worked in body away from you. Now you have a cluster of body language signs and you can be pretty sure that that person is not feeling very well around you. And now it's up to you how you are going to react to that. You have theory and now you have to react to that. You have to change your communication style. You have to ask the person what was happening there. And it is very much up to you how you are going to react to that by observing body language, you are just getting information. How does the person feel? It will help you. It will increase your empathy, but you have to be able to change your communication. You have to be that flexible that you will be able to solve that situation. You are going to spot by observing body language. It takes time, it takes practice, it wants practice. But when you will reach that point, when you can read somebody language clues some information out of that person, and you can react to that to improve your communication. It's amazing feeling guys. I would also recommend you to invest in yourself. In these terms too. Get better in reading by language. And by that you will get better communicator. You will learn how to react to that. It will come together and you will be irresistible. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. Starting button language and understanding body language, understanding people's behavior helped me a lot. To be a better communicator, to know how people feel, how people are feeling around me. And I can do something about it when I feel that someone is not comfortable around me, I can change my behavior because I noticed that. And I can make the bond between us strong verb. And you can as well because I'm just a normal guy who put the time in it and afford.
