1. What You'll Learn in this Course: Hello and welcome. My name is Daniel. And in this course, I'm gonna show you how to create a professional looking business card from beginning to end using a free website resource called move dot com. There is no additional software required for this. So if you already I'm ready, let's get started. 2. Exploring the Business Card Options: in this video. We're going to take a look at some of the options that are available to you as you design your business card here on move dot com. So let's dive in. Here we are on the home page of move dot com, and if we hover over products, we could see that they actually have a lot of products available on here. Not just business cards, but also postcards, stickers, flyers and more for this video, And for this course, we're gonna be focusing on business cards and specifically creating a standard business card. So I'm going to hover over business cards and click on original business. Cards on this page were met with a couple of options for original business cards, and the 1st 1 is size. So let me go and click through these and let you see you know how they change. So when I click on Standard, it gives us a 3.5 by two inch business car. If I click on Move gives us a 3.3 by 2.16 business card. And lastly, if I click on square gives me a 2.56 by 2.56 for this video, we're gonna go ahead and stick with the standard one just creating a standard business car and the next option that were met with his square or rounded. So limit. Click on rounded, let you see what that does. And as you would imagine, it gives us a rounded corner on these business cards. It's pretty cool looking, but for this video, I'm going to go ahead and stick with square. And now, when you click, start making. Now this is one of the coolest parts about mood dot com. They have three options as to how you can design your business cards. The 1st 1 is you can use their templates. They have a ton of professional created templates available and ready for you to use, and all you need to do is to put your information in, maybe upload your own photos or work, and then you're pretty much done. Everything is already designed for you. The 2nd 1 is you can design here online. Maybe you already have your own logo, as it says here, and you just want to customize some of the other details that could be a valuable way to design your business card online if you have those. If you're in that situation in the last one is maybe you are familiar with photo shop illustrator and you have already created your own business card. You just want to upload the finishes. I you can do that, too. And then move will handle the printing for you. What? We're gonna take advantage of our the templates that move already has. So I'm gonna click on usar templates in the next video. We're gonna take a look at some of the other business cards that are already designed on here, Get some ideas, and then we're gonna go ahead and pick one and make our very own business card. I'll see you in the next video. 3. Browsing the Business Card Templates: in this video, we're gonna take a tour of the business Card Designs page. We're gonna search through and find a business card design that fits our current situation . And then we're going to prepare to make that business card. So let's get started. As you can see on the Business Card Designs page, it's separated into two sections. The first section on the left side is how you can sort and filter the designs that you see on the right side, so some of the ways that you can filter the designs are Sanders size or move size. You can choose by the paper type. You can choose by the industry category, like arts and crafts, or you can even choose the style or color. So if you're looking for a specific way to filter, go to the left side and on the right side you can see these are the designs. So let's go ahead and take a look at some of these designs. No, the business card that I want to create is I am a photographer of cats for this business car prompt for this project. So what business car would be best for me as a cat photographer. I know two of the important elements are for me. I want to be able to share my contact details in a clean way. And the 2nd 1 is I want to be able to maybe share some of my portfolio. Maybe on one side of the business card. Okay, So with those in mind, let's take a look at some of the other options that are available to us. So this one is for a technology consultant? Um, interesting design on one side, very clean on the other side. This one is for financial planning only. See an interesting photograph on one side and some clean text on the other side. And this one has some logo on one side of love on the other side. Which would be great if I already had a logo. In this case, I do not. So what I'm gonna choose for this particular project is this one If the shoe fits, so I'm gonna click on that. And as you can see, it has a nice section of the top for me to maybe put my name there. And for the bottom, I might be able to put cat photographer and some of my contact information and the other of the two contact details and showing some of my portfolio on the back side. You can see I can actually interchange the photos so I can maybe share some of my portfolio with the person that I give the car too. So I'm gonna go ahead and click, make this pack. And in the next video, we're going to move forward with the business car design and actually make the pack. I'll see you there. 4. Editing the Template's Content: in this video, we're going to customize the template that we chose in the last video for the project of Daniel the Cat Photographer. So let's dive in on this page. We could see that move is telling us that this is the front and that this is the bag, and this is pretty important to know, as this will be the same for your whole pack of cards. So we want to make sure that our contact details or important information on this side while the other side could be used first things that could be inter changed, like photographs. So I'm going to go ahead and click. Start your design. So my name is not Amanda Rose Haley. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go ahead and just like we're document or some other type text editor, I'm just going to navigate over, highlight this and type my own name in. And my name is Daniel Fe IX, and the important piece of information that I want to change here is I want to put Cat photographer now the other information. If I wanted to print these cards out, I can definitely change for the purpose of this video. I'm going to go ahead and leave it as the text that is already there. So here we are. The front is already done. I'm gonna click design backs. And here we see that it has photos of shoes. So I'm gonna go ahead and change these out with photos of my own of, hopefully cat photos. So I'm gonna click, upload a photo or design and go to my cat photos and choose cat end grass. So here we go. This is the first image, and this looks like it will do for this particular project for right now. So I'm gonna go ahead and click this check Mark. Now, I could move this around just so you know, and I can resize it a bit. Maybe something like this will work. And one of the cool things about working with editor is that it will kind of give you warnings as you go through. So show me there may be a white strip on the top edge. And this is because I dragged the photo a little far a little too far down, so it showed some white space. I'm gonna read position this. We make just a little bit bigger. So there we go. You know, click the check, Mark. There we go. One of the photos has been uploaded and is on the design, so I'm going to go to the next one. And as you can see, this the back design one of five. So I'm gonna upload a few more photos just to use as an example. So here's the next one. I'm gonna click. Upload another one. It's a cat on deck. Is this one? The framing isn't perfect for this one. Let me go ahead and make it a little bit bigger. Really. Cat. I focused here. So let's see what this one is telling me. At this size, your image will look blurry when printed. Try making us try making a smaller use a higher resolution version. So that's good to know. If I works print these cards. I would definitely make sure that my photos of the correct size, but that is something really good to know. Make sure using high enough resolution photos for the print. And if you don't, then move will let you know. Okay, so I want to go ahead and click. OK, here. Um, kind of breaking the rules, but make sure your photos or high enough resolution, and I'm gonna go ahead and upload one more photo cat on fluff. Here it is. And see what this one is. The White Strip warning. We couldn't proceed anyways, but I'll just go ahead and fix it real quick, and it's gonna give me Let's see. Yes, the other one. Okay, so I've uploaded right now, have uploaded three of the designs, and I think three is good enough for May. I don't really want too much variety. And I could make, you know a number of these different backs, but I'm just gonna go and go with three. And what I can do is I'm just going to click on this trash can. I can't appear to delete the other two that I did not, um, they're not the cat photos. Okay, so right now, I have designed the front in the back of the business cards. The next step is to go through some of the finishing touches, and we'll do that in the next lesson. I'll see there 5. Finishing Up the Business Card: in this video we're gonna add are finishing touches to the business cards before we order them. So let's dive in. So on this page, add the finishing touches. We can choose which kind of paper that we would like the business cars to be printed on. Some of the options include Luxx Super Cotton Original. If you'd like to learn more about each of these options, go ahead and hover over that question mark and read about them. If you want to just order a standard original business card, you cannot go wrong with the original for choose corners. You can choose for it to be a square or rounded, and we went through some of these options in the beginning. It's kind of nice that they let you review them at the end as well. I'm so square or round it. You go ahead and choose whichever one fits current carbs situation, and for finished, you can choose either Matt or gloss personal preference. I really like the way that the mat cards feel in my hand, but once again I think it's just personal preference. Um, and then you could choose how many cards you actually need 5100 or however many you need. So once you've chosen which paper corners, fish and the number of car, Ginny, you can go ahead and click review and purchase. And one of the one of the things that I really like about move to try to give you as many warnings as possible so that your card is correct. And here you see that Careful, theres something to check before you print. So I'm gonna click view, and it's making this do a little dance. So I'm gonna click on this, and it's given me a warning that says, This is dummy text. And if you remember, I didn't change the dummy text. So that's why I'm getting this morning. And this is a good reminder for you. If you're training your own business car to really double triple, check that all of the text on your business card to smell is not smells correctly. That would be kind of interesting, but that it's spelled correctly on, and that the all the numbers are correct as well. The worst thing is when you order some awesome business cards and they come to your door and then you realize you missed a number, or maybe you spelled something wrong. So really double triple check Have a friend Dio you know, check it over as well. We were this weight in gold. When you get to hold the shining business cards, your hand and everything is correct. So over this I'm just gonna go ahead and click, proceed anyway and navigate back to the review and purchase by just kind of going through all of this. It looks like there's something else. I think we remember that this resolution wasn't high enough, but I'm going to go ahead and add to CART. And yes, may have double checks. I'm not gonna actually purchase these, but at this point, the business card is finished. And just like any other online shopping experience, you just need to check out and ship it to your own address. So that concludes our project. We went from beginning to end on creating a business card. I hope that this was helpful and pointing you to a resource. A very awesome resource mood dot com for where you can create your own business cards. I hope that you can jump in, choose a template, change some things around and make a professional looking business card quickly that you can create on your own without needing to have other software or professional help you.
