About This Class

This class will teach a fun and easy painting technique that creates bold artwork looking rather like a woodcut but without any carving. I'll explain just what you need to get started, demonstrate each step of the process and show some of my own paintings done this way.

I loved watching you do this amazing technique. I would have thought masking fluid would have made it much easier to do but I didn't see you use any. I'm not sure I'm a neat enough painter to try it without but I will. I havn't ever used gouache properly so it will be fun trying. i need to draw a proper picture and give it a try. Thanks so much for a great idea and a beautiful example. I am fascinated now.
Interesting technique! Adding to the list of things I want to try!
Pros and cons of the gouache resist: + This technique is pure magic! I really love the result, it looks a bit like a print. Great texture and lots of character. - There is lots of water going down the sink to wash the ink off and reveal the paint underneath... Alisons teaching: + Perfectly done, clear and short, very well explained and very easy to follow! Totally recommend this class! :) Thank you.
