1. Introduction: Hello, My name is Elena Maria Mundane. I'm in Italian food, Blogger video and Radio House. On this black form, I have a lot of classes in the culinary section where I teach you how to prepare Italian traditional dishes and recipes taken for movies. But I also have a lot of experience as a professional host for videos on the Web and on TV . I thought it was time to start sharing my tricks to make the most effective token had video . What I've learned in this many years of professional hosting is that when you want to express your passion and your knowledge for something in a video, you need to put your face out there. But I also know that many people are intimidated by the camera, so sometimes the content off their videos is a little bit last powerful because they're not at ease. If you want to be powerful in your videos, stay with May in this class because I will show you first of all the tools that I used to make the shoot more professional, how to use the lights, how to set the room, how to position yourself. But most of all, I will share with you all my secrets. All my tricks to be natural confidence at ease in front of the camera. As a class project, I will ask you to share one of your videos. If you're ready to start this journey with me, stay put and watch the next video.
2. Cheap and Easy Tools : thank you very much for joining me in this glass. If you're watching my lessons, it means that you want to improve your way of shooting your videos. For platforms like this one, like skill shares and music, you're a teacher. Congratulations. Or if you want to know how to shoot better videos for your YouTube channel for your websites social networks, because now videos are really important, and it's really fun to show yourself and express yourself through a camera. You just need to follow a few rules, because now technology made it so much easier for all of us to shoot without hiring a professional. I'm using all the time I'm using my smartphone, which is a iPhone. I think that a camera off the iPhone does perfectly the trick, and it makes a very good shoot, considering that everybody knows this is not a professional shoot. But the realization off it is really nice. I always should with my iPhone, but all the time, and I want to stress this all the time. I'm putting it on the stand. A stand is, I think necessary and fund amount. If you want to relax while you're doing your shoot because you don't have to worry if the iPhone is moving on top of the shelf, you know, if you put it somewhere where it can fall down. And most of all, once you set the perfect heist and the perfect direction inclination off the camera, you can be sure that for whole your video, it will stay the same. It's marrying, pointing because now, if I need to turn off my camera and go outside the answer to the door or answer to the phone, I know that if I come back and I have signed on the floor, so always put myself in the same position, my video will be consistent. It will always look the same. Another thing that I'm using because it's required on skill share on other platforms like this one. But because it changed completely my way of shooting, I have to tell you that is the mike. The mike keeps my tone always steady, and it helps me Teoh, reduce the risk off having noises from outside. So from outside of the window or inside off this room, there are going to disturb my speech. Another thing that you need to remember is where to position your mike, because it gives you the possibility, Teoh. Move wherever you want, and it always will keep your voice. So just put it into a position, knowing where you want to move, put into a position where it is gonna be always the same distance to your mouth to which is not compulsory. Body think it's very, very helpful is remote controller. This remote controller helps me to turn on and turn off my camera on the iPhone without catching it, and it's connected through Bhutto's. And it's very easy to use, so you don't have to change your position. You're gonna have to go clothes and go back, maybe to touch your phone to turning on. So if even if you have a stand, he moves a little bit like this, shakes and you have to wait for it to stop or else it would show in the editing. So by one of these they don't cost them much money and will definitely do the trick. In the next video, I would show you how to choose the perfect room in your house if you're shooting in your house or whatever you're shooting. Considering the light, the natural light and how to set it. How to prepare it for the perfect shit. Because this is not a prepared room. Everything you see behind me will be changed.
3. Choose Lighting and Set: in the previous video, I gave you a short and easy list of tools that I used to make my shoots as professional as possible. But there's another key factor that I keep in mind and take into consideration when I'm choosing the location where it should my video and that's the light. There's a big difference between a video with poor lights and a video with great lights off course. This is not the place to talk about sets off artificial life. They usually calm. With a director of photography. You can shoot perfectly at home using the tools you have already, and these tools are the windows. Luckily for me, the kitchen, which I used to shoot all my cooking videos, has a fantastic window, which is right now, right in front of May. So I'm behind you, which gives me natural, diffused the light. What does it mean? It means that I never have the sun coming directly to my face. In that case, it would makes my faith. It would make my face too bright, and it will make all the shadows about around me too strong if you don't have this perfection. If you are not as lucky as I am. Don't worry about it, because you can diffuse the light yourself coming from the window by using a curtain, a white curtain thin one or by using parchment paper. Put it on the windowpane and it does the trick perfectly off course I can hear you're saying. But what about the Have time to shoot during the day, while if, when I choose to shoot during the day, there's a storm outside the window or is too cloudy and the light doesn't come in as much as needed. What you have to do is you can definitely use your own artificial life that you have a home to lambs at least two lambs. Try to use two or one big lamp right behind your camera, but try to make them has diffused as possible. So if if they're too bright on you and the rest of the room, use parchment paper. Don't burn the house down. You will learn how to do it because you will see the difference when you're looking at your video. Just pay attention than the light needs to be defused. Another thing that you need to remember is that you shouldn't have. You must have a light coming from behind you. So don't shoot in rooms where you have a window on the back or artificial lights on the back because it changes settings off your iPhone or a smartphone, which is automatic. The cameras automatic and with the light behind it goes crazy and most of all, is very destructing for the person that it's watching you. Another thing that is destructing is all the junk that to say in the back. I left the room like this because I wanted to tell you this. When you're preparing for your shoot, when you're choosing your location, you need to remove everything, which could distract the audience So everything is seen. The corner there, on top of a cat board on the on the refrigerator, has to be moved, and that's what we're doing right now. Ted. In the next video, I will show you how to position yourself in front of the camera.
4. Choose Position and Clothes: Okay, Now you know which tools I used to make my shoot as professional as possible. Which room? Off the house I choose because of the natural refused life in front of my beautiful face. And now I will tell you how I position myself in front of the camera, coming for many years off professional hosting. You can ask me anything in the comments below, but I will not tell you how many t here's we're talking about. But there are many coming from many years of professional hosting. I am more used as standing up, so I always stand. But off course, it's always fine if you want to sit down on a stool or on a chair. If you're more comfortable like that, just remember, though that's when you're sitting. It's easier for the body to to crumple up close a little bit on itself, and you don't have to do that. Try to stay straight and try not to move too much, meaning I'm Italian. I move my hands a lot, but it should restrain away Go from that. Also, don't sway. Don't go back and forth while you're talking or go one side to the other. It always happens when you are a little tense and then you go from one feet toe from one foot to the other. But it's not. It's not fine when somebody is watching you is gonna go sick and other trick that is used to give death to a shoot is to position yourself a little bit far from the back wall. So at least here I have two meters. If you're coming from my side of the world or a few feet once you have, position yourself, just sign it on the floor so you can move a go wherever you want, and then you can come back and you always have your perfect position. And now they're trick Can, I want to tell you is a little hand from professional host? Is that since that everybody that is watching you is Washington on a dream or on a TV? So it's bi dimensional and they try to position their body so that they're not completely straight in front of the person, but one shoulder goes back a little. It gives also it gives depths to the shoot. If you forget to do that, because sometimes you do what you're talking. You change position than you. Don't go back like that. You can try and keep your feet instead of keeping them like this. You keep them like this. So my feet 90 degrees. So my right shoulder goes a little back that I'm positioned like that. If you like it off, course you can do that. Also on chair. The only thing you need to do is that you don't position your feet like that. But you position your chair. That's where you're still so you're always a little bit given. Mawr warms more opening to your body and to the rooms for your positions. Another thing I wanted to talk to you about is the closing. And, of course, you can wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. I'm not here to say that the only thing that you have to keep in mind don't give the effect off the floating hat, and it comes with high collars, a high T shirt, so high sweater that have a high collar or it comes when you wear a white shirt or a white T shirt on a white wall or a black T shirt on a black wall that is not nice to see. Here we are. I told you everything about how to position yourself also gave you a future and a few tricks and a few hints in the next video. How long did you have to be absolutely natural in front of a camera?
5. What I realized: this video is a little bit often introduction to old tricks, that professional tricks that I used to be natural and confident in front of the camera. I wanted to do this introduction because I want to share with you two things I've realized in all this years off work in front of camera or shooting my own videos. First of all, video is transparent. It's not Ali what you're saying that it's important not only the content off what you're saying to the rodents, but also the tone of your voice. Also the movements of your body, as I told you before, or the movements of your hands. So if you don't feel like it, if you're tense, if you're scared, if you're hungry, you want to just go to lunch. Or, if you are emotional for some other reason, everything comes through you and goes in the video that you're showing that you're shooting . The other thing, I realized, is that video turns down the emotions, meaning that you have a lot of passion for what she wants. You teach through your videos or want to what you want to tell to everybody through this mean but the problem is that this is a mean. So if the is a step in between you and the audience is not like you're talking directly to somebody, there's something between. There's a screen in between, and this green turns down the emotion, so you have to push them up. You have to put a lot of emphasis on what you're saying not too much, but a little bit more than what you will be using. Why talking to AH group of people in a room or just to your friend, why you're talking directly to somebody that is right in front of you. So in the next video, if you're ready, are all my tricks to be natural and confident in front of the camera?
6. Be Natural and Confident: thing is the core video off my whole class. In this lesson, you will learn my tricks on how to be natural and confident in front the camera so you will be able to express all your talents and all your knowledge. If you're a teacher here, kill share first trick make followed points off anything you're saying, either if you are the one there, right, your own script or if you receive a script for somebody else like I do all the time in my job, I always ride down bullet points because he helps me to keep my head straight because I always know what is coming next. And I always know how to express myself in a consequential way. Another thing that I do is that I use very short sentences. I do it because I'm not a native speaker, so it's easier for me. But it's also easier for somebody that speaks his own language. Makes everything much, much clear. Second, rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. That's the key point. You have to rehearse everything you're saying better if you rehearse it in front of the camera and then you watch yourself when you watch yourself. I know is a torture and another Many people hate watching themselves, but it's very important because then you can take notes off many little mistakes, many little things that you want to change. You don't want to get to the editing point and then watch for your video. Think half I should have done this. I should have done that. I should have said better that thing because sometimes they happened. It's sometimes it's so easy. You just have to do it one more time just because you re first it and you'll watch that yourself. Another trick, which is not a trick. But it is the way you keep alive is breathing. Remember to breathe while you're talking. If you remember, if your conscience on your breathing you would realize that you are talking a little bit slower, your little bit clearer on what you're saying and you come off confident but not too much. You don't come off as Mr or Mrs Tichy. You don't want to impose what you know. You want to share what you know. So remember to breathe and to keep it calm, and then it makes it much clearer for everybody. I know everybody knows it's like this for everybody there. Talking to a camera is a little bit intimidating, and if it's not intimidating, it's quite strange. You're talking to a sane rights, not to a person. So a lot of people use this trick and maybe you're using it yourself. So if he works for you, keep on doing it. If you didn't know it, try it. They pretend they're talking to a friend like their best friend or the brother sister, mother. They pretend they're talking to somebody. They know one person, others. They pretend they're talking to a small group of people instead of just one person, because it gives a little bit more emphasis on watchers. They're saying what I do is different from both things. Instead of imagining my friend or he started imagining a group of people that I don't know , I imagine all the time one single person, one single student, one single user, one single person that is watching my video and all I have in my hat is the feel the need to explain what I'm saying. So I hope you understanding this because I'm talking to you. The last and final trick is about what I was saying in the previous video. The camera turns down the emotions. It turns down the passion you have for the content of your expressing in your video. So you need to remember to push up. If you don't want to think about it pushing up all the time, putting emphasis on what you're saying all the time. Instead of talking to the camera like I'm doing right now, you should talk to a point behind the camera. If you know what is that. My voice is changed. My voice has changed because I am. I have to reach a further point behind the camera and my voice needs to go all the way there. I don't do it all the time. I prefer to push up, but you can try it and then tell me what you think about it in the next video. We've talked about your class project and with summarize everything you have learned in all the previous videos
7. SkillshareFinalProject: Thank you so much for making it all the way to here. This is the video where I talk to you about your final project in your class projects. Where you have to do is to show me and show all the other students here in the class one of your videos. Either It is an introduction off your classes. Your skill share. Even if is a video that you want to share in your YouTube on the social network on your website. Please show one of your videos when you use yourself as talking. Had to express something you like something you love, something you have passion for. And I hope that you will try and use all the tricks. And you will remember everything I told you and my in the previous mayor. Let's make a little summary. First of all, I told you that I use three very important tools with my iPhone. I use a stand, I use a microphone and I used every month controller. Then I talked about a light light is so important. I will never stop putting emphasis on this. I'm going on a handful. You say life is the key to every good video. If there's some lights that comes that strange to the person that is watching the video, the video is ready. Impossible to follow. Then I told you how I choose the room and how I change a little bit of room. I removed the junk in the back I making nights and making tighty so it doesn't destruct everybody. Then I told you about the position, how you position yourself, high position, self standing straight, or you can sit down. You can turn a little bit to give more deaths. Then I told you all the tricks to be natural and confident in front of the camera. How do you do that? You need to make bullet points off anything you're saying on top off the outline. Just think the outline, think about the script and then make bullet points. So you keep your your speech consequential. Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse because that's the only way to do it. Rehearse in front of the camera, watch yourself, take notes, and then imagine how you condone it better all the time. You can do it better. Believe me, you will never stop to learn it. You never stopped to improve and all your videos will become amazing. Another trick as to breathe breeze while you're talking because it makes the speech lower, clearer and easier to listen to. Then you have to pretend you're talking to a friend or you're talking to a group of people . If you don't want to do that, do like I do pretend you're talking to yourself. So pretend you're talking to your students toe one student in particular that is watching this video right now. Last final trick. Remember that you can. You have to emphasize and you can turn up instead of turned down all the emotions for To do that, you just watch a point behind the camera directly behind the camera and talk to that point . It will make him everything mawr emphatic and funnier and more interesting to watch. I can't wait to see all your videos, share them with us and asked me if you have any questions. I'm here to answer
8. Retakes : Theo. In the previous video, I gave you a list of short in the previous video. I give you a list of easy and short in the previous video I gave you short and easy list. Have the final word to say thank you. So so much for completing all this lesson. All this classes. I will tell you what I've learned. When it comes. I will tell you what I've learned.
9. Conclusion: justifying award to say thank you. So so much for completing my class. I hope you found interesting and helpful tricks. And then you use them in your videos. If you like the class, please leave a positive review until or your friends here askew share or outside of skew shirt that they should enrol in my class.
