About This Class

Welcome to "How To Identify & Change Your Core Beliefs".

Hi, my name is Adam. I created this course as I was in my own process of identifying and transforming my negative beliefs.

In this course, you will learn the process of how to identify and change your beliefs to ones that you prefer no matter how "deep" they may seem or how long you have had well as:

  • What belief systems are, their purpose and why we have them

  • What kinds of beliefs we have (positive & negative)

  • How emotions are connected to and stem from our beliefs

  • How our beliefs and definitions determine how we experience ourselves and our circumstances

  • How beliefs perpetuate themselves, making them often a challenge to change

  • How to identify old definitions and replace them with new ones

It is my passion to share this topic with you. I am a very specific and technical person with this topic, no fluff, but you do need to be open-minded. I use personal examples of what has worked for myself. The material in this course comes from years of my own experience of self-exploration in transforming my own beliefs that I picked up from my past and I hope it serves you well.

Feel free to message me anytime if you need help or would like to ask questions.

I am excited that you too are on this journey of transformation with me!

1. Course Introduction: Hi, everyone. My name is Adam Sweeney, and I'm going to give you a brief introduction on my course how to transcend limiting beliefs. Now, this course is divided up into four sections In the first section will be talking about energy, how we are this sense of life energy that is flowing through us, and we experience this life energy through different emotional filters chosen by our belief . Systems in the second part will go into more detail about what believes actually, are why we have believes and how they create our experience of reality. In the third section of this course, we will be discussing the exploration process overview because I will be leading you through a process of self discovery. You will have to look inward to see what you're believing, what believes you're buying into, and I will give you the necessary tools to do this in a seamless and easy manner. Now, in the fourth part of this course, I will take you through the specific process of self discovery off discovering these core beliefs, the tools you will need to discover specifically absolutely what these beliefs are that you're buying into and how they create your reality and, most importantly, how to change them to the ones you prefer and to make them stick So you can experience a new reality full of positive, wonderful beliefs and experiences the way you were meant to live. And not just picking up these beliefs from childhood from your parents. The lightest beliefs that you have belong to you. Anything else is not your baggage. So I'm very excited. And I am very grateful that you are with me on this journey. I hope this course serves your life and changes it in many positive ways as it has served me in my life. 2. Intro 1: Life Energy, Emotions, & Filters: All right, let's get started in this lecture. We're going to learn about life, energy, emotions and filters. So from the time we were born to the time we die, we have something called Life Energy. Some people just call it energy. What you need to get through your day And this little son here, it's going to be representative of our life Energy. Now, what important thing to remember is that our life energy is always shining through us at all times from the moment we were born to the moment we die, However, we experience this life energy in a couple different ways the first way by the degree or amount of life energy. For example. If we're feeling healthy and we feel that vitality, that is our life energy coming through to a high degree. If we're feeling ill feeling sick and we're lying in bed and we feel weak, our life energy is still coming through us then. But to a lesser degree, no, the second way. We experience life, energy three types. Now, traditionally, we call these types emotions such Aziz feeling happy, feeling angry and feeling fearful. So but what we are going to Dio. We're gonna take these emotions and we're going to call them filters because what happens is as we go throughout our day, we experience our life energy through these filters. For example, if I'm feeling happy, I'm experiencing my life energy through a happy filter. If I'm feeling angry and I feel a rage, that is the same energy. But I am experiencing it through the anger filter. I'm feeling worried and fearful, no reason to fear it is the same energy that was coming to the happiness filter, but you're experiencing it through a fear filter. Now you might ask, what chooses these filters through which we experience our life? Energy? And that is we dio our mind chooses it. So you might say, Well, I would like to choose the happy filter all the time, and I would like to do that as well. But the thing is, there's something a bit deeper that chooses how we experience our life energy, and that is based on our belief system. So if something good happens to me, I get a raise at work. I feel I have a reason to believe that I should be happy, so I experience that event. I experienced my life energy through the happy filter because of my belief about the situation. Now, if something happens and I feel angry about it a friend that I was supposed to meet with canceled and he's canceled a dozen times. Now I have reason to believe that I should be angry about that situation. I'm afraid my partner is going to bring up with me, and I have a belief about that situation that says I should be fearful. So I experience my life energy through the fear filter. Now the important thing to remember is that everything that happens in your life is ultimately neutral. You decide if you want a label it good or label it bad. The challenge is society has kind of already programmed us to say, This is good and this is bad. But as you go throughout your life, you might experience things that might seem bad. No, they might turn out in the end to actually be good. There might be opportunities there. We don't always see the big picture. You know, if you get fired from your job, perhaps you get a better one. If a loved one passes away. Maybe this brings the family closer together. So it's important to look very closely at these belief systems because in the end it is up to us. We choose how we want to feel. We choose what we want a label, and this is what this course all about. And I'm going to help you to find these beliefs. I forgot where they came from. Turn them around so you can experience more things in life through the happy filter or whatever filter you'd like. Because life energy, as we set is always coming through. It's not going to stop, so we might as well experience it through positive filters. 3. Intro 2: Resistance & Emotions: Now we're going to discuss resistance and emotions as you mentioned before our life. Energy is flowing through us at all times, and we experience it through emotional filters such as happiness, sadness and anything in between. Now it determines which filter we experience our life. Energy is our belief system about the situation. Now we could talk about some of the more positive filters such a XLA love, happiness and elation. But I don't think this is why you're taking this course. So for the moment, we're going to discuss some of the more unpleasant filters, such as sadness, hurt grief and fear. Now I want to talk about these, because when we experience our life energy through these uncomfortable filters such as sadness, hurt and fear, we tend to suppress them. We resist feeling them because who wants to feel sad? We distract ourselves. We suppress these feelings. But what you need to know is when you are suppressing these feelings. When you're suppressing these emotions, you are suppressing the same life energy that comes through it. When you're happy, it's just a filter. You were suppressing the same life energy. So when we resist and suppress this energy. What happens? Well, what happens? The energy when it has nowhere to go? This is physics. When energy has nowhere to go, it's cycles. It's cycles around inside you, and you can suppress emotional energy for days, months and even years. And I'll make this clear. And this is not to scare you, but anything you suppress will never go away. Even if you think you've forgotten about it, it will never go away. So what did people do? They tend to try to control their environment, to avoid feeling these uncomfortable emotions such as sadness and hurt. But in the end, we can't control everything. The only thing we can control is ourselves and what we dio now here's an example of a situation where someone would want to try to control the environment because of these unpleasant emotions. Now let's say you go through a break up and you're experiencing much of your life energy, through sadness, hurt in grief, and you look up at these pictures on the wall and their pictures of you and your ex. How did they make you feel? You probably say they make me feel even worse. Let's take them down the pictures of the problem that pictures are making me feel bad, but the pictures aren't the problem. What you're reacting to is never the problem. But why you're reacting to it. The belief behind it is what you should be looking at. Now, this is a picture of my grandma, so we're not gonna take it down. But let's say you take down your pictures and you think problem solved problem not solved. So let's say the next day you're at work and you go on Facebook. You know, we all do it so but see, you're on Facebook and suddenly you see a picture of your ex with someone new. And it caused this this extreme sadness again. And you think OK, OK, I don't want to feel this. I'm going to de friend them try to control the environment, de friend. Them closed the computer. Now you're leaving work and you walk through the park and you see a couple on the park bench kissing. You're feeling sadness again because that's something you had before and you don't have. Now it's going to get you every time, so don't look to what you're reacting to. Look to the belief because as the suppress energy accumulates within you and gains, momentum is going to weigh you down, even mawr, and become heavy. And eventually you'll come to a point where it's so overwhelming. You'll break down at any place and any time and just release everything and it's gonna be just is painful when you release it as it was when you stored it. The purpose of this course is we want to avoid becoming depressed. We want to avoid breaking down some place to release our emotions because it's so overwhelming. So this is why is important to look at the beliefs which we will do. We're going toe, identify them. So in any situation we can experience our life energy through the filters, which we prefer. 4. Intro 3: Releasing Emotions / Stored Energy: Now we're gonna talk about releasing emotions and stored energy. Our life energy flows through us, and we experience it through different types of emotional filters. However, when these emotional filters are negative, they can be quite uncomfortable. So when we feel it coming through these uncomfortable filters, we tend to resist this energy because of the discomfort and what happens when we resist the energy, we end up storing those emotions inside us. Now what happens to stored emotions or stored energy? It has nowhere to go. So it cycles around and around, accumulating over an infinite amount of time until the point where it becomes so heavy and reaches a breaking point. Your breaking point. And then it releases the let's talk about energy and emotions. For a moment, energy and emotions are synonymous with each other, and they both want just one thing from you. And that is to be experienced fully, and they will do their best to get you to experience them fully, despite the fact that it might make you feel a bit uncomfortable. But the good news is, is that all emotions run out once their experience fully, they really dio run out I'll give you an example. Let's say you watch the movie two kinds of movies. It could be, Ah, funny movie or scary movie. Now watch that movie 10 times, then watch it once more. Is it still as's funny as it waas? Is it other ones still as scary as it Waas? Probably not. And why is that? Because you've experienced those emotions while watching that movie fully, they no longer have an effect on you. There's no longer a reaction. They have been experienced to the point where they're no longer charged with emotion. I'll give you another example. Let's say you're at work and your pal coworker comically slips and falls on his rear end, and you think it's hilarious. Now the moments passed and you're thinking about it and you're still cracking up and people are looking at you. So you go outside and you just you bend over and you start laughing some more and you think about the thought and you laugh. You think about it and then you release and laugh those emotions until the point where you think about it. And it's not as funny anymore. And that is because you have used up the emotion. The thought in the emotion have both lost. They're charged because you have experienced it fully now. This concept also applies when we release sad or heavy emotions on Lee instead of when you release happy emotions and you're laughing. When we release satin heavy emotions, we tend to cry. Now I want to say one thing about crying, maybe a couple things, that crying is actually the best, quickest and most natural way we release heavy emotions. It is just as a natural release as sex. It's how we function as a human being. And I don't want you to get caught up in the belief that there's something wrong if you cry that you're not a man, if you cry or the you're a weak person because I'll tell you it takes a person of extreme courage and strength to come face to face with those emotions, and I know that you were that person of courage and strength. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever been to a therapist before? Or you seen one in a movie where they're talking with the patient and they touch upon an emotionally charged issue? and the patient starts crying and they say, Oh, we've had a breakthrough and the patient thinks I've been cured. I feel so much better now. I feel so relieved now. I want to tell you that if the belief is still there, and it most likely is because even though you feel better, you have treated the symptom and not the actual cause because the cause is the belief. And if you don't take care of the cause, you're going to act, react, behave and think in the same manner in the same ways that caused this whole thing in the first place and you're going to suppress the energy again. It's gonna accumulate, become heavy until you reach your breaking point and release. Now it is my goal with you to keep you out of this storing and releasing energy pattern over and over again. This is where a lot of people not get it wrong, but they just don't go far enough 5. Beliefs And Their Functions: in this lecture, we're going to talk about beliefs in their functions. So what are beliefs now? As we said before, we experience our life energy just flowing through us through different emotional filters, which defines our experience of reality. Now it chooses the emotional filter through which we experience. Our reality is our belief systems about situation. Now we have belief systems, so we know how to experience reality. This is their job. The job of the belief is to give you a more solidified sense of a reality. Otherwise you wouldn't know how to feel about things. So it takes your belief about something and it makes it riel and more real and more riel. And this could be in a positive way or it can be in a negative way. You basically have believe systems about most things in your life, so you know how to feel about them now. In a sense, consciously and subconsciously, we choose thes beliefs, and it's important that we acknowledge that we choose them because it allows us to have a sense of responsibility. It allows us to take self responsibility for our choices. So we go inward and we examine what those beliefs are. But back to the nature of beliefs. It is their inherent function to give you an experience, a solid experience of physical reality. Now what are believes exactly the way I define a belief is it is a thought opinion label on things, people, circumstances which we experience as truth. The key word being experienced as truth. Because, as we said before, everything is inherently neutral. Life is meaningless except for the meaning that you give it, and you give them meaning through your belief systems. So we have a belief about a person or situation, and we define it as good or bad, and therefore we experience this situation as good or bad. I know it sounds very simple, but metaphysically structurally, you can have an experience of anything, and this makes all beliefs ballad, all perspectives valid, whether they're true or not. Everything can be experienced as true, and this could be good if it's positive and it could be not so good if it's negative. But all beliefs are valid and all believes can be experienced as truth. And as you said before, it's their job to perpetuate themselves into your reality and a physical reality functions like a mirror of your beliefs to you. This is why you could have an experience of being paranoid. For example, if the government is after you or you fear you're getting fired from your job or someone is out to get you, you can have a real experience off that fear. Even though on the outside nothing is really happening. So physical reality functions as a mirror for our belief systems. And what we tend to do is we look at our experience. We look at the circumstance which is already a projection of our belief systems, and then we react to it further with fear or whatever emotion were experiencing it. And because we are reacting to the circumstance, this strengthens this energy within us. It strengthens the belief system. This is how the beliefs grow. They grow through your reaction to them in physical reality. And some people get caught in this loop. Remember, life is inherently neutral. You can stop these experiences when you explore the beliefs because the belief always comes first and the experience always comes Second 6. Example: Relative Beliefs: So here I'm going to give you an example. But I could see two different people have different experiences in the same circumstances. So we're gonna take a traffic jam because most of us have been in traffic jams and where I'm from in New Jersey, there are plenty of traffic jams to be experienced. Now you have two people in the same traffic jam. Let's say for the sake of argument, they're both on their way home from work. There's nothing urgent, but they do want to get home. They have important things to do and people in love ones to see. So we have person A. He's stuck in the traffic jam. He is not happy about it. He's feeling frustrated. He's feeling angry and he's feeling very stuck. Now we have person be. They're also in the same traffic jam, but this person feels differently. They feel happier. They feel joyful there, thinking Well, I can't really get home right now, but I have this new CD this new album wouldn't listen to, and now I have an hour to listen to it in my car, and I can enjoy it thoroughly or since I have this extra time. I could call my mom because I've been meaning to do that. And now I have the time since I can't do anything else. So two different people having different experiences of the same circumstances now what would they each have to believe in? Orderto have those experiences person A to feel frustrated, angry and stuck? He would have to believe, or she would have to believe that time is being taken away from them. So this is the relative believe time is being taken away. Therefore, out of that believe the feelings of frustration, anger and stuck nus come from that belief and our experienced now person be in order to feel happy and content making use of the time. They must have a relative belief, saying that time is being given to them. They see it as a blessing. Time is being given to them and they can use it as they want and therefore this person experiences this situation through this belief. Time is being given and he's feeling more happy and content with the experience. Now you might think OK, eventually, Person A is going to make it home, and the traffic jam is going to end. But the belief is still there, and the belief will manifest for this person as well as the other person. His own believe in different perspectives every day throughout their lives. Which is why it's important to know if you're feeling uncomfortable, frustrated, angry or sad. It's important to know what that belief is, because this person A will experience the same symptoms of that belief when they're in line at the grocery store when they're waiting for. The doctors are waiting at the D. M V. Every situation that is similar that will activate this belief to one extent, one extreme or another. He will then experience it in that way it will follow him and and then it will continue to give him two. Give him a stronger sense, stronger experience. This belief will follow him and manifest from different perspectives. And as it does, the emotions get stronger and stronger because the experience keeps being repeated and the belief, as it does wants to solidify itself in your reality. So therefore it gets stronger and stronger and stronger until one day he has to wait and get stuck in another traffic jam and flips out. This is why it's important to look at the belief and this is a bit of proof showing you that these emotions, every emotion stems from a belief. 7. Negative Beliefs & How They Serve You: Now we're gonna talk more specifically about negative beliefs, and what a negative belief is is a believes. It's ultimately not true. It does not represent who you are, and it is opposite to your life energy, your life frequency. This is why it doesn't feel good. It basically, if your mind is computer, it would say, does not compute because it is so different from who you are. His negative beliefs, such as I'm not worthy or I'm unloved or other negative definitions of things that simply aren't true. Now, every belief you have, whether it's positive or negative, has this motivational mechanism within it. And that means that you are motivated to choose the belief whether it's positive or negative. You will always move into the direction which you defined to be your best interest or your safest interest. Whatever works out best for you, you can do that consciously or unconsciously on the tricky thing with negative beliefs is, as with any believe, positive or negative, they perpetuate themselves. They wanna hang in. They want you to choose them at every moment. So as it perpetuates itself and strengthens, it's so in your sense of reality, it will do its best to keep you away from it, keep you away from discovering what it is. It has a little bag of tricks that were used to distract you. So when you sit down to go work on yourself or investigate this, believe you might notice an urge to walk away from your desk to turn on the TV or Netflix to go get something to eat. Sometimes the more fear you might feel as you go to discover that you were actually getting that much closer to uncovering it and transcending it. And this is why it's important to discover what they are not. Just let them run your life because you're choosing at every moment. We're choosing automatically what's in your best interest. And most likely, that's also the safest interest for you. If you look at what the alternative might be to not choosing that belief, often negative beliefs make it seem like they're the only choice, and they're the best and safest choice, and you continue to choose them. But once you dig down and I'm not saying that it has to be very deep because it's just to believe to believe that all these negative believes air so deep I've had them for a long time. Their their here and now and present. And once you uncover them, once you bring it towards the light, you will see that it doesn't make sense that it truly can't make sense. Is not representative of what we hope, who you are. However, you can then look and see how you have experienced that belief in your life and how it strengthened himself, how it made itself seem real to you. But as we said, no, all beliefs are not inherently, really. They're just experience, Azriel. Once you see this, once you see how nonsensical it is and how it can't possibly be true. Then you'll see you have other options and you won't have to choose it anymore. It is still there. You can acknowledge that it's still there. It just goes back on the shelf with all the other choices, and you can choose what you prefer is when you're in that higher state and you can see what you've been doing, what you've been choosing and why you've been choosing it. You come to this point of total awareness, then you can feel free to choose you prefer and then get a different result out of your reality. Have a different experience. So this is why it is so important to look at our negative beliefs, too. Dissolve them in a way, transcend them without invalidating them because they're still a part of you and you need to acknowledge that. And in the end, from that higher space, when you can see, you'll realize that it's just a choice and it goes back on the shelf with all the other choices. 8. Your Process of Self Discovery & Tools: So now what I'm about to take you through is the process. And it's my personal process that has worked for me and exploring and transcending my negative or limiting beliefs. And I hope it works for you, too. You were all on a journey, and I feel very grateful to be a part of that journey. So please take what works for you and what doesn't work. You can just leave. It is that of all the teachers and all the tools you have, it's important to collect what is relevant and works for you. And as I said, this is what works for me, and I'm very happy to share it with you. So basically, this is a process of self discovery. This is really knowing yourself, knowing who you are, what you believe and why now, some useful tools that might be handy when you do this process that I've used. My main tool was journaling, and when I say journaling, you can. I mean you can write in a physical notebook. I personally use a word document because I typed pretty pretty quickly and my thoughts come out pretty fast now. Some people asked me Well, had a wide journal. What does that really mean? And what it means is you just right. As you think. You take your thoughts and it's like you're thinking as you're writing, so you can sit and say, Well, Adam told me to journal. I guess I'm journaling. Why am I doing this? Well, I guess it means that I need to look at myself in some beliefs. Well, what are my beliefs? Well, how my feeling right now? Well, I'm kind of feeling this way and so on. You literally just write what you think. And this could be a very helpful tool, whether you are doing self discovery or whether something's is bothering you. And you just want to get it out out of your head out of circling from your head onto the paper. Also, when good things happen to you and you want to talk about it and express yourself on the paper. You can also use a recording device if that works best for you. But the most useful tool that you will need is compassion for yourself and honesty. Because if you can't be honest with yourself, then who can you be honest with? no one has to look at this journal, and it's important for you to let those parts of you, no matter how how they sound, how whiny they sound, how desperate they might sound more how joyful day sound that you let it all out on there and be open and honest, because what you're looking for is within that honesty. And if you hide things from yourself, you're only making it more difficult to find things. Now, all levels of this process I'm giving you are connected, and as you go through each of them, they connect with each other to give you a greater awareness of yourself. And this will help you deconstruct these negative beliefs so you can see what they are, see their nonsensical and get this awareness because with awareness comes power. And this is all about exploring yourself and bring greater awareness to who you are and what you choose and why to see everything laid out right in front of you. And then you can choose what you prefer 9. The "Order" Of Things: now one thing I want you to remember when doing this process. This process of self discovery and uncovering your beliefs is that take things as they come . This is a very gentle and loving process. You don't need to go look for demons or monsters. It doesn't have to be scary like that at all. I have to do is just notice when you don't feel good emotionally, when you're having reactions to people or situations that you don't prefer tohave when you're trying to reach a goal and you're you're feeling frustrated, so any of these things that come up in the moment, that's what you need to work with. You don't need to dig any further at that moment. They're there for a reason and your consciousness. What I can tell you from my experience. It has this organizing principle because you have these court negative beliefs and sometimes it'll have these secondary beliefs on top of it, sort of protecting the core. And these secondary believes sometimes flare up in your life and as you feel them and experience them, your consciousness knows that that is what you need to work on first in order to deconstruct everything else. It knows the exact order. So don't worry about going real deep. Just take what is there with you now what is coming up now? Because that is the only thing it's necessary and the most relevant thing for you to work on at that moment. And as you follow this day by day, in your process of self exploration, you will deconstruct these negative beliefs and it easy calming and sometimes even it can be. It can be a fun experience after a while and you get used to it, but it can be in a very gentle manner. There's no need to fear, because as you look inside yourself, all you're seeing is more off yourself. 10. An Overview of The Process: This is the process that I have used the past years through much trial and error. And this is like this said This is what works for me. And I hope it works for you too. So and if this resonates with you, please give it a try. Now, this is a four part process, and I will go through each of these in great detail. But for now, I just want to give an overview. Number one is to clearly identify your symptoms. And this is just how you're feeling. You know very specifically how you're feeling. Number two, find the origin seeing if you can look back and find a time where you felt just as similar as you do now. Because, as we said, beliefs manifest themselves from different perspectives in your reality. Once you have them, you will experience them in many different ways. Number three, naming the belief and being very, very specific when you name the belief and doing your absolute best. If you don't get the core belief, it's okay. If you get a secondary belief, then that's what's necessary for you to do. And Number four is to create and become the belief you prefer 11. 1. Clearly Identifying How You Are Feeling: So before I go into the first step clearly identifying your symptoms, I just want to mention a little bit more about the tools. So, as I said, I prefer to use journaling doing this sort of self interview, asking yourself, You know, how are you feeling and why you can also use meditation If that's more your thing and sort of, sit down, close your eyes, think about how you're feeling and try to match words specific words to your feelings. You can use something called I. F s Internal Family Solutions, where you you lay down and you guide yourself. Sort it inside your mind to find this part of yourself that is not feeling well. And you go ask it questions and you see what answers you get back another one that I've used. I call the Nathaniel Brandon Method Nathaniel Brandon Waas a very spiritual in my opinion psychologist, and he wrote these six pillars of self esteem, and he had this sentence completion exercise where you would write down a question for yourself and then you would write the 6 to 10 ending's just without thinking about it. Just see what comes down. No matter whether it makes sense or not, just to give yourself at total honesty and not judge yourselves. Whatever comes out comes out and I've used all these tools and you could do your own research looking tomb or them. So now we talk about the first part clearly identifying your symptoms. So as you're journaling or doing using whatever tool you want to use, you ask yourself, What am I feeling? Why am I feeling this way? What is the rial? What is the cause of why I'm feeling what happened? Why are you upset? What is really bothering you and be very descriptive because these are your clues. The way you phrase things will be your clues to sort of narrow down why you are upset. More specifically, you can start with what I call umbrella terms, which is feeling angry or sad or fearful. And then you just sort of be more specific from there. Well, why why do I feel angry? Why don't I feel sad or for your fearful what what happened today or what's what's going on in my mind that is giving me that experience. I want you to fuel the words I want you to get a sense of their direction, their specificity and where they're going because they are taking you somewhere. They're taking ume or inside yourself mawr of how you're feeling and the more specific you can be with how you're feeling, the easier it will be. Two more specifically define the belief behind those feelings. 12. 2. Identifying Past Experiences Of Beliefs: now the second part finding the origin. Now this isn't absolutely necessary. But it can be a great help because, as we said, beliefs occur again and again in many different ways, from many different perspectives on your experience and in your reality. So you think one was the last time that I felt this way? And as you look at it from this other perspective and you look into the past something you're not so emotionally invested in and you could remain detached, you get this sort of subject object relationship, and it's easier to look at it to find what the belief is. Just remember, it's the same belief from a different perspective and as you this process. If you do look into your past about these beliefs, you may need to release emotions if they're charged, and if you need to do that, that's okay, because once you do that, you will then get a greater clarity of what it is. And as you touch, if you do feel like you need to release emotions regarding a specific issue, you you are there you are right there. The thing that is charged with the exact thing you need to look at. And then you compare it then, too, as you're feeling it now to get a greater sense of awareness. 13. 3. Naming The Specific Belief: now the third part of the process, naming the belief and being very, very specific when we name the belief that is causing all these emotions. Now here's some questions that have worked marvellously for me and for other people that have coached. And that is to ask yourself, What would I have to believe in order to feel the way that I do? What would I have to believe? Or what would someone have to believe in order to feel this way? What must someone believe? It's a very simple question. You'd be surprised the answers you get and sometimes the Nathaniel Brandon method using the sentence completion works really well. So what would I have to believe in order to feel this way? Well, I could probably would probably have to believe that this or that I am not that or that this means this or that. This is that and just write down spontaneously. Don't even think about it, whether it makes sense or not, and you can take this a bit further. So if you think you found out the belief is, well, what would that mean if it were true? What is the worst case scenario, and in this way you can sort of blow it out to make it very obvious. And if if it becomes very obvious that Oh, yeah, that would be the worst thing. Then you're sort of narrowing it down. You know, it has to be this or in this general direction. Now, remember what I said about choosing beliefs that we choose them, and because they have this motivational mechanism, we get a benefit from choosing them. Whether it's a positive benefit or negative benefit, they do serve us in some way. And this is key to the awareness, because this tells you why you are choosing the belief. So if you think you found the belief, just ask yourself, Well, why do I keep choosing it? What would it mean if I chose the alternative? What is the alternative? And usually the alternative is scarier now. I often use this as an example. Let's say you have a child and they're very shy and they're in class, and they have this belief about themselves that that they're not good enough, and they see this reflection that they don't get approached by other students is not that anyone hates them or anything, but they have this belief they're not good enough. And so this sort of hesitant to express themselves and raise their hand in class. Now, this child believed that he was not good enough. And he preferred that. Believe he shows that belief because what would the alternative means? Well, the alternative mean, if he did think he was good enough, you'd have to raise his hand. But that was scarier because as he thought, if I had to raise my hand, What if I say the wrong answer where someone laughs at me, that's a lot worse. This is how this works. This is why you choose what you choose and when you see what the alternative is with the alternative would mean for you. Ask yourself, What would this mean for me if I did this? If I believe something else, then you know why you're choosing what you've been choosing. And it brings a greater awareness. And you have this sort of conscious control and you can choose something else. Now, sometimes negative beliefs like the box you in. For example, the child believed that he wasn't good enough, and the alternative was raising his hand. Well, that was too scary for him to do because he had another belief about what happened to him or what could happen. Him, if he did, raises his hand. So you have to negative beliefs and his sort of boxed in. But once you at least work on one of them, transcend one of them, choose something else for one of them, then you have a way out. Working on the other will be much easier. 14. 4. Becoming The Belief You Prefer: now, the last part of this process is a very special part to me, and it can be very metaphysical, and I will explain it in the way that has worked for may, creating and becoming the belief you prefer. So if you know the belief that you're believing whether it's the Corbally for secondary belief, what you can do to sort of test this out is say, what would you prefer to believe? So I wasn't with the example of the child. What would that mean if he believed that he was good enough? And usually what you prefer to believe is the opposite of what you're already believing? You think, What would that mean for me? And I want you to see a version of yourself, a parallel reality version of you who has this believe and think. What thoughts would they be thinking? What actions would they be doing? You can journal about this. You can write to this version of yourself and see what answers you get from them, where you could just simply do what they would do as you do what they do. You'll notice that actions and knowing are very synonymous. What someone believes in what they dio connect, match up perfectly and from what you believe to what you do in physical reality will get you certain consequences. And this is how you can sort of manipulate reality. This is how you can sort of create your experience, even though all experiences already exist in a sense. But what you get out of them is up to you, and it depends on the belief you have. So if you take physical action and do something and if it can be something very, very small, you can actually strengthen that belief and shift your vibration closer to your natural life energy level where it is and you will get different results. In reality, the bigger the step, the bigger the results. But this is actually how you change it. This is how you literally become a new person and that new personal had different consequences. So, for example, if you believe that no one likes you or your unloved, you'll probably stay home, and that has certain consequences. You stay home, nothing happens. But if you have a belief that you are loved and you go out and you meet and you talk to people and you get invited to other things those air different consequences based off of actions based off the beliefs. And you can use this a sort of test yourself because as you take the physical action, if it some point you do get scared, then that's your cue to look at the belief you didn't quite get it. You might have got a secondary believe, but you just go back and you look inside yourself and you do more self discovery work and try to be more specific about what that believe could be. But it's sort of way to test yourself to move forward in the direction as you want to go, and if you move forward and you become that other version of yourself and it works out, then great. If you feel fear, as I said, then you need to look back at the negative belief and examine it further and more specifically. One thing that I've always done is I've used in eighth annual Brandon Method, this sentence completion method, saying if our 5% more like this version of myself that I wanted to be that has this beliefs would be specific about what they believe. I would probably do what and now, as you have those lists of things and it could be small things or bigger things, you go out and you look for opportunities in your daily life to act on them. And if you don't act on them immediately, it's OK. But just recognize that the opportunity was there and and you'll do it next time. But as you do it in very small ways, you'll see small results and that belief, which perpetuates itself no matter what, in what direction, Because that's its job. It just wants to go in one direction. It will give you a stronger sense of that reality as it does, and you will have different experiences. And as you have different experiences, you will experience different emotions, emotions you prefer, and you will know this whole time that you were consciously choosing it, and it's much easier to choose it. When you unmask the belief that you have been believing. You know specifically why you were doing it and you can see, then the other choice is that you have. You can see that it's not as scary as it once was when you look at it in the light and you have this process a sort of test that to be that other version. And once you see consequences of that belief and they're usually very positive arise in your reality and your experience, it'll take off and have a snowballing effect, and that's how beliefs work. And that's how you transcend your negative belief into a positive believe. Although I say transcend, it's really just choosing. But you're giving yourself a reason to choose. And as you choose, you see the proof and as you seem, or proof reflected in your reality as you seem or approve, it becomes more solid within you, and then you can take bigger steps. 15. A Real Life Example: Now I'm going to give you an example of this process in action, and I'm going to use a true story of a friend and I'm applying this process to my friends situation. Now I have a friend and he was working for a boss that did not treat him very well, Treated him very poorly, paid them very poorly. And he was not having a good time. Was calling up every day complaining. Didn't know he was going to do. He felt very, very stuck. You're probably saying, Why did he apply this this process? Well, he had his own process and I respected that. And story does have a happy ending, but I'll get to that in a second. But I want you to see, in real terms how you can apply what I've just taught you in the process to your situation . Just so you understand it very clearly. So in this situation he would look at his symptoms. How is he feeling? Start with an umbrella term who is feeling angry and frustrated. But more specifically, how is he feeling? He was feeling stressed. He was building up resentment towards his boss having revenge fantasies. He would say he's underpaid under appreciated reactive is complaining, undervalued. And as you go through all those things when you hit the key terms, for example, in this situation under appreciated under valued those those things that really hit home for him those were very, very specific symptoms he had, which will lead you to more specifically, the belief. What would he have to believe in order to feel this way in order to feel underappreciated, undervalued, and in this example he include, he would spit out answers such as, Oh, he would have to believe he's not important to you not to believe he's not skilled, not worthy, not good enough. And in this situation, not good enough really hit home for him. So he would have this belief that he is not good enough, and from that believe he would experience being under appreciated and undervalued. Now I took a look, knowing him as my friend. I thought about his past and what past experiences are there that are very similar. And he had a situation with his father, where his father had expectations of him, and in his father's eyes, he would feel like he's not good enough so the same believe have not feeling good enough with his father manifested from a different perspective in the present, gaining strength with his boss So he doesn't see his father every day. But it's he's his boss every day, and it's gaining strength each time. So what was the benefit to choosing this to choosing not being good enough? Well, you have to look at the alternative. What would the alternative mean? The alternate would mean he would have to leave and get a new job, but he was feeling not good enough. Who would hire someone that feels not good enough. So if he had the belief he chose the belief he was good enough, then he would do those things. But he was boxing a bit because he also had his belief in black that he couldn't support himself. If he if he took a break and reality, he could you could piece things together. I could see perfectly how that could happen, but he was choosing to believe in black and he was experiencing feeling fear from that, so he was sort of boxed in with these beliefs. And as I said before, if you can take care of at least one of those in this situation, Blackley, for not being good enough and you can find a way out. For example, if you transcended this belief in like that, you can support yourself. Do a bit more research that you can manage on unemployment and a small side job while you find why you find a better one so that that's one way. If he transcended the belief and chose something else as to being not being good enough to be in good enough, then he would have quit and started looking for another job and feeling very confident. But instead he chose to stay and experience this, believe not being good enough on a daily basis. And it would grow stronger and stronger and his emotion but go stronger and stronger. And in this particular situation, the outcome was that he was fired anyway. Universe, the universe would threw him out because who he waas believing is not good enough. Is not representative of who he waas. It's not representative of who we are. We are unconditional love. We are good enough. We are this higher frequency and if we stay in there too long, the universe will throw us out whether we get fired or get into a car accident. One way or another, it will toss us out. Hopefully, it's not that extreme. So what happened was he was fired and at that moment he chose something else because he was put in this circumstances where he would have to sink or swim and he chose to swim. He got a new job in a couple weeks, and now I used his story as inspiration for others. But in this circumstance, if he were to go back, you have to look at those two beliefs, the belief and lack in the belief of not being good enough seeing why he chose them and what the alternative waas and unmasking his motivation to choose them. And taking a Step four is taking a step forward in physical reality and seeing seeing the change. And as this change occurs, your emotions will go down and your belief will perpetuate itself in another way. So this is a lesson a lot of people can can relate to this situation. I related to it a couple times in my life, but I just wanted you to see this process that I've given you in action 16. Belief-Benefit-Behavior-Experience 1: Now I'm going to give you another example so you can understand more clearly how believe systems work, how we choose them, how are motivated to choose them by a benefit that they're giving us and how we experience them in our physical reality. So in this example is taken from my personal life. At one point, I had a belief that my needs were less important than others. I don't know exactly where it came from, but all I knew was I experienced this belief of my needs being less important than others. I would be at the office and someone would put the shades down when I wanted them up, and I would think they don't care about me. What about my needs? I would be at the lake, and some young kids would come by, start smoking near made playing music. And I would think, What about my needs? No one cares about my needs, and I would feel that my needs were less important and others and others didn't care. But in reality I believed that my needs were less important and others, and therefore I was experiencing this belief through the circumstances of the actions of other people. So as I explored this belief of my needs or less important than others, I thought, What is motivating this? Why am I choosing this? This isn't inherently, really. This is just inexperience. So I thought, What's the benefit that I'm getting out of it? What would it mean if I believed that my needs are just as important as others? My needs are important. And then it hit me. If my needs were just as important as everyone else's, then I would get up and do something about it. But I always thought, Why should I inconvenience myself? So there it is. From the beginning, I defined my needs as an inconvenience by my actions of not doing anything about, um, I could have moved to a different spot at the lake if I was complaining that someone didn't buy me the exact groceries that I needed. I could have gone to the store and get them myself if they were important. But I dismissed it I to find myself first. I define my needs as an inconvenience through my actions of in physical reality, of not doing anything about it. So after I had this realization that this was just an experience and that I was doing it. No one else. Waas. This allowed me to take the blame away from everyone else and put it on me. Not that I was blaming myself, but I took responsibility for my experience for what was going on from what I was doing. And then I would take these small steps and physical reality and slowly see the change in every situation. I thought What would I be doing if I believe that my needs were important that well, then I would go to the store. I would get this. I would take care of this myself. I would do that myself. And not long after my physical reality reflected back to me. The experience of my needs are important. And I was never offended by anyone else again because I always took the responsibility. And this is why your definitions, how you define yourself is so important. And this is why you need to look at your beliefs, see why you're motivated to believe them and to look at the outside and think, Why is this being reflected back to me this way? Why am I having this experience. What are my physical actions which are being grounded in physical reality, doing to create this experience, and how can I change that? 17. Belief-Benefit-Behavior-Experience 2: So I'm going to share with you a Another example taken from my personal life from when I was a child. And maybe a lot of you can relate to this now. When I was young in 6/7 grade, maybe even younger, I did not participate very willingly in playing kickball in gym class. I would always be picked last. And so I bought in this into this belief that I was no good at sports. I get picked last just about every time. No one really wanted me on their team. And then I would look at that circumstance and I would blame them. You know, I'm no good because of them. They say it so it must be true. Otherwise I wouldn't be getting picked last if I was any good. Put years later, I realized that I was defining myself as not good. I was buying into a belief that I was not good at sports and but why? Why was I motivated? This is what I thought. Why was I motivated to choose that? It's not just that this experience was being reflected to May, so I bought into this belief I was motivated to buy into that belief, I thought, Well, what if I had a belief that I was good or or that at least wasn't bad? Well, then I'd be participating more willingly than I would have to actually try. What if I get up there and kick the ball and I miss it or I let the team down? So then I realized I define myself as not good enough. First, by my actions, you define yourself by your actions what you do, But you also define yourself by what you don't do. So I thought, OK, so if I do this, if I participate, then I might let the team down. Might embarrass myself, make a fool. But at least I would try. At least I would show interest. And then the other students would see even if I wasn't the best, but that I cared enough to try. And because at that point, if I were to care enough to at least try and everyone noticed, I would not be picked last anymore because then they would see the Eid care and me not getting picked last doesn't have to be picked first. That is the circumstance. The physical reflection, mirror changing according to my belief, because actions and knowing and your beliefs are it's anonymous and this is how it works. And this is the amazing thing that I want to share with you that you can change your reality. You can change your experiences of people by how you respond to them, how you respond to this situation in the way that you prefer. And I hope this example has helped you. 18. Changing Definitions: Hello, my name is Adam. Thank you for joining me. So and in this video, I'm going to talk about changing definitions of the words freedom and control. And because recently, these negative belief systems have been coming up for a lot of people where they have negative definitions of what it means to be, to be free and control. And my power is, and they're using these negative beliefs to create these negative experiences. Now, whatever you believe to be true, no matter what it is, we'll create an experience for you. So one thing we get to do is we get to choose our definitions. And if, and if those new definitions make sense to us, then it can create a whole different reality for us. It can actually switch out the old definitions. It just has to make sense, it just has to feel true. And I went through my own process recently where I took a look at this and I thought about control and power and everyone, or many people getting upset that somehow they're being controlled or that freedom is being taken away. And what I have learned is that control, freedom and power all come with from within, all come from with inside. It's not something that can be imposed upon you from the outside. Now you can create an experience that it is, but you have to surrender your freedom first. You have to surrender your power, you have to surrender your control. However, I noticed I had these kind of outdated, old definitions that were passed down through society that you may have to. So let's take a look at them. The first one is control. Now, what I have found to be true for me is that control is not something that can be imposed on you. The only control there is is self-control. Now. And this is very important because the old definition was that someone else could control me from the outside, from outside of myself. And it's very important to switch the old definition with the new one because you can say, Oh, South is only self-control. That's great. That kind of that kinda makes sense. I'm responsible for me and my state of being and how I choose to react. But it's important to identify what is exactly the old definition. So and what that is or was was not actually control. It was just influence someone else, something else influencing me to you negatively to use my self-control against me, to use my self-control in a way that I don't prefer, in a way that is scary. Now it could be positive or negative. But that's all it is. It's just an influence. And then we decide with our self-control, how we choose to react. Rr, our state of being. Now the second word, power, we may associate power with, might enforce and knocking things down. But it doesn't take a lot of power to knock things down. It takes power to build them up. So I changed that definition L. So power can now only be positive because power is something that builds, something that expands, something that grows and keeps going. Because that is what, that is what true power is, is to me. Now, you might say, okay, well what about, what about the head of a regime somewhere? They are the ones in power. But if they're not, if they're not going with that definition of something positive, expand new, building in a sense, growing, then they're not empower, they're actually in panic. So that's the old deaf, that's the true old definition. We can say. Not empowered. They're in panic. And they're in panic because they're caught trying to control everything with fear. And they're in panic because they know that can't really control, because it's not something you do to the outside. As we said before, control is something within. So when you flow your energies for you, when you act on, your, act passionately about things. When you express yourself, this is you being in power or n powered. That, that's what that word means. Because it's something that expands, something that grows, something that flows up and outward. So the only one keeping you from being in your power is used, so to speak. The only one controlling u is u. So when you combine these two things together, your self-control, choosing what you prefer, choosing this state, you prefer taking that preferred natural state, applying it, applying it in your passion to grow, expand, be empowered. In that way. It, you will always be free. No matter what, no matter what the circumstances are, will always have the ability to choose your state. And from that place, you'll be able to perceive the things that you can take action on, that you can feel empowered by and make yourself empower. And that's really all freedom and happiness and joy is to be empowered. So this is something that's been on my mind for quite some time. It's something that's prevented myself from feeling free in a sense. But once those new definitions and clarity about the old ones became clear, and then I took responsibility for my state, started taking actions, positive actions that expand like even just making this video, even just telling it where I, where I can. That's empowering. I hope this video helps you if it did, share it with someone who you think might might need it, because things are never really as they seem, but things are also exactly how we create them to be. Bye.
