About This Class

The first thing I do when completely refurbishing a piece is to remove the old finish.

If I take the old finish off I don't have to worry about not damaging that finish nor do I have to try to match the finish on any new parts I make.

For this class I'll discuss mechanical and chemical methods of removing a finish and the benefits and drawbacks of each.  I'll also go over some of the safety considerations for each.

If I've done it right, free enrollments can be found here.

Blacksmith, woodworker, all-around crafter

I am driven by a need to create.  This has lead me down some interesting roads.

I know a bit about woodwork, metal work, leather, casting, and several other disciplines.  I also enjoy passing along what I know to others.

Life is a continual path of improvement.
