If you can take a minute to leave a rating, it would be great if you could spare two minutes off your time to leave some off your thoughts about the course. It honestly, it would mean the world to me, and it's more important than most realize. Moreover, as a personal looking to become a teacher yourself, you'll come to see and feel how much it's appreciate it. When someone does take a minute to leave a rating and their feedback, it's Trudeau's refuse that in the end you allow me to keep doing this. I hope you already and excited to learn everything There is about course creation and during this idea of yours into a reality. 2. Is It Still Worth It to Teach an Online Course?: let me answer a question here, one that I've been asked many times before, and one you might very much be wondering about two. Is it still worth while to create an online course? That's a fair question to ask yourself before devoting a whole lot of time to following this course and creating your own course afterwards. Now let me answer that question. In the shortest and most straight forward weight, it still is 100%. While it's understandable that people might ask this question, the truth is that people have been asking that question every year. Every year from 16 17 6018 to 2019 I have encountered this question again and again. So why is it still worth teaching online courses? Online courses are the future off medication, and as long as the Internet exists, there will be a men's line. Mitigation is a growing area that is truly just getting started, and today, more than ever before is the perfect time to begin. Therefore, take this gents and go for it. Every year is another year later that you wish you could have starts. So now that we have this question out of the way. Let us start and learn how to start creating a best selling course. 3. The Top 3 Reasons for Creating a Course: In addition to the reasons why you want to create this course you have in minds, let me run you through the top three benefits you will gain from creating your very own course. Mainly, I'm touching a bond them for you to understand the full potential you will have of creating a course so you can fully make use off them. The duck tree of reasons are best income. Own your skills. Build a community slash a following. These are duck tree benefits. You will profit from any course you create. And these are the reasons I believe creating a course can be of high value. Too many people. Now let us take a moment to break each reason down. To truly understand each one, let us start with the apparent reason. Passive income. Passive income has always been a very applicable topic for many, and it is an excellent investment. Create something that could work on its own without you as indeed a course. Now let me give you an example, as I will with the other two, to show how creating a course is beneficial to almost everyone to play out an example with the priorities ranked as followed, earning money, building a community and mastering a skill. Let's say that you are eights rebel blogger and you want to achieve your dream of doing this for a living. Due to your block and social media, you already have a following. Also because straddling has been something you've done for years, the skill off mystery is one you possess. Earning something through your travel block is more of a struggle. At this current stage, however, creating a course could very well be the answer to help you with that. You could, for example, create a course about the best travel, hex and dips or a course that serves S A travel guides about a particular city or country, etcetera. Creating a course will allow you to benefit from one passive income which will come to help you to continue doing what you love. And even though you might already have a following and master the skills of traveling, you will still benefit from this as well. In your instructors bio and your course, you could tell people more about you and your travel block with links to your website is social media pages. This will lead to to building a community and increasing your following. And of course, even though mastering your skill might be the last priority, you will benefit from it. Either way, when creating the course, your skills and knowledge, Iran's reveling will only deepen personally. For me. This has bean the number one priority off, creating a course mastering a skill. Let's go through an example to show you how creating a course allows you to master your skill Main priorities. One getting better at the skill to earning money. Three. Building a community slash a following. Let me give you a personal example from one of my courses s ice it. In each course that I've created so far, the main priority was to better my skill and deep in my knowledge, on that topic even more, it personally motivates me the most to get better. At that topic, it maximize the feeling to do an extensive amount of research as students will come to benefit from it as well as myself. With my productivity course, the ultimate productivity course of four beginners. I wanted to master the skill off productive the in my own life. Even Mawr does. I set aside a deadline off four months to create a course on it. I took a couple of months to do extensive amounts of reading and research on the best productivity techniques, and so on why I also experimented and tested them out through those months. I wrote out my findings and constructed that course in general. I would recommend you create a course on something you do have a degree off experience and expertise on. For me, creating a course is a way to further deepen my knowledge on that topic even more and hit that point off mastery now for the productivity's savages out there. Maybe this is for you, who knows? While I certainly get recommended to everyone, creating a course could be an exciting productivity heck, to gain a higher skill level in a concise time. Here is how let's say you aren't too good at cooking but would love to improve. Creating a course will force you to do research, practice and study as you must show and teach it to others. If you set a deadline off when to finish the course, let's say three months to do research about the course competence, right? The course and film the course. You'll be learning, thinking and teaching to intensify that skill. By doing this, you'll hit a high skill level in a very short amount of time. Moreover, by the end of adult, you'll even come to earn money with its. Now again, this is not for everyone, but who knows? Maybe it might be something for you. And lastly, let us look at how creating a course will help you build your community and increase your following main priorities. One. Building a community slash following to getting better at your skill. Three. Earning money Let's run through an example. If your main priority would be to build a community and increase your following, let's say you're a big company. Money indeed might be less off a needed resource. However, community spreading the word of who you are and what you do can effectively be achieved by creating an online course. If your main priority is to increase exposure of who you are and what you do, create a presence where people already are and bring them to you in each instructor bio, you have the possibility to link your social media pages for your rep sites and in the course, you can tell people more about who you are and what you do, leading them onwards to your website. For example, if your course is good, the chances that you will attract hundreds to thousands of students over the years and increase your following and further built your community is very likely to happen. Whatever your reason might be for creating a course, the opportunity of all three elements will be there now, one less an important note. I'd like to end his lesson on in the end, your main focus, no matter if your reason for creating. Of course, it's passive income to Messer, your skill or built a community should always be to create the best possible course for your students. Don't create a substandard course, because this will hit you hard in the face. Generally care about your students and create a course with the best possible intent for your students to succeed. This message, I will come to repeat Mawr throughout discourse, as it's something I really like the foster reading U S a person who makes a big chunk of its living from courses and is really passionate about the direction off online medication . I like to contribute in a positive way through the development off quality medication. You someone looking to become an instructor, a teacher to others will become a part off this change as well. Therefore, we are going to agree on something. Let's agree to help our students succeeds as our main focus Now, having said that, let me end this lesson and let us move onwards to the next one. 4. The 3 Golden Ingredients to Create a Bestselling Course: This is the part of the course where we get practical. Let's talk about the how how do you create a successful and high quality course? What do you teach for your first course? What is the best course style? More over? What about course lesson titles. How do you structure your course? How do you teach correctly? These are but a few off the many topics we will come to touch on here in this part off the course. The how parts. Before we dig into all that, let me first share with you treat golden ingredients that I have used for all my courses that are essential to know when you want to create a course off quality value and one that will stand out from the crowds. If you have never created a course before, it can be tricky and confusing to get started in building and structuring a course. However, there is a common saying that goes, You do not need to reinvent the wheel, which implies make smart use of a system dual structure, etcetera that has already been invented, and give them your own twists. An excellent way to get started in building and structuring your course is by following someone else. Course on a closely related topic. Before you get started, I would highly recommend you follow at least two courses. You don't need to overdo this, but just choose to off the best courses on the same topic. You want to create a course about when you do take down notes on paper or a digital writing programs such as Word or scrivener, and write down the following three things. When following a course on the top, you want to teach in, Write down everything you like about the course, the style of the illustrations, the way the teacher talked, the quality off the videos, how it was filmed, etcetera. Write down everything you liked about it. This information will serve as the basis or foundation for your course. Moreover, it shows you the quality you must match or exceeds. Therefore, it's important not to follow any random course on the topic you want to teach, but only the best ones. Moreover, it's also essential to not follow only one, but at least to this way you can compare and incorporate more off the things you liked in your own course. Now Does this mean that you should copy someone else? Words and continent off course nuts. The aim of this exercise is to help provide you with some ideas on how to structure your course. What you want to do differently. End s. I want to emphasize here the quality you must meet or exceed to bring you one step closer to creating your best selling course. The second thing is to write down everything you do not like, such as poor sound quality, poor presentations for examples. The leg off exercise is boring. Teaching style, etcetera, right, all the information down and figs the's in your course. For example, when hours gathering information for my beginner course in photography, I watched one of the best rain photography courses were the instructor used other people's photos as examples. I didn't like this at all, as he wasn't able to talk from the heart about his photos. This I was able to fix this in my course with another highly ranked photography course. I got annoyed because the instructor took way too long to explain each concept. Therefore, I also fixed this and tried to explain this complex topics briefly but clearly These are but a few off the many corrections that make my beginner course in photography one of the highest ranked and highest rated out of the hundreds and thousands of exciting courses on offer. Likewise, with my productivity course some off the illustrations in the productivity courses I followed were not well done and sometimes unclear. So I fixed these and made it very clear in mine. In the courses I followed that were related to my course on how to live a happy life. Many of them had no actual practical exercises or clear guidelines for course takers to follow. To start changing their life I fixed is by adding practical exercises to my course. When watching the two courses on a topic you want to teach, ask yourself, What don't I like about this? What frustrates me when I watched this course or what do I feel is missing here? In this course, this is valuable information you need to write down so that again you can fix this in your course. In addition, you could take it one step further and read the feedback from the reviews off. Other students who took those courses You are following see what they would have liked to change in the course. Used that information to solve those complaints in your course and do not make the same mistakes. Finally, the last ingredient that should not be missing where you want to create a best selling course is that you should bring something unique. Now. This can include many things and doesn't have to be enormous. You could, for example, use humor in your course or stunning illustrations or animations, or bring your personality into its. For example, in my beginner course on photography titled The Ultimate Photography Course for Beginners, I created lessons on the philosophy off photography. These are lessons about the things that photography has stopped me in life. This immediately set my photography course apart from literally thousands off other photography courses s. I introduce something unique and different that show my personality and brought a new and unique and value to my course that no other photography course had offered. If you are creating a course in a high demand niche that already has many courses out there like photography, it is essential that you bring something different to the table. Another example. I convention relating to my productivity course is that while thousands off these courses already exists, I made mine different and unique by including gorgeous animations throughout the whole course with my course how to live a happy Life I created together with a professional illustrator, a practice book off high quality with some valuable exercises. There are really many ways to set your course apart while watching the two courses related to the topic. You want the teach of surf and think about what you can bring to the table that is different from these courses. How can you set your course apart from the rest? Introduce these tree basic ingredients in your course and in any future courses you creates , and I can promise you you'll increase the likelihood off, creating a best selling course, one with great value and high quality that your students can enjoy. Having learned this tree most valuable golden ingredients, let us move forward to the next listen 5. The 6 Different Styles of Creating Courses - 1. Talking Head Shots: in this lesson, we are going to talk about the different styles Yuki used to create a course there are more than you might realize. The first and most obvious way to create a courses through talking head shots s you can see me doing right now. This is the most commonly used methods in most courses s It also works the best. Creating a connection happens much easier through talking head shots compared to slide shows. For example, I think you feel far more connected right now, seeing me talk to you, right, If we switch to an illustration or slide show, the connection is less. I'm not saying there isn't a connection s. You can still hear my voice, but you can certainly feel a different kind of connection, one which is much weaker. You've probably heard the old expression. The eyes are the window to the soul. While that may not literally be true, they do reveal a great deal about what we're thinking and feeling from moment to moment. It certainly helps to communicate what you're teaching to your students when they can see you and look you in the ice, especially when talking about something personal or something more emotional your students . Being able to look you in the ice really helps to communicate not only works but also feelings, obviously, as we soon will come to learn, because there are different styles to use in your course. Each one also allows a different way to explain and teach. Something is therefore important to learn each one and to choose which style will work the best for your course and the current listen so you can explain the subject in the best possible way through your students. Now let me provide three easy but essential guidelines to keep in mind when using belting headshots in your course. First, make sure you set the camera, and I level placing the camera. Two. Hi. It looks rather strange as thus placing it too low. Therefore, keep your camera at eye level. Now this is easily measured by how your head is stilted. If your head is going up, it's too high. If your head is going down well, it's too low. Aim to have your eyes at the same level as your gambrel ins. When recording, Do ofcourse look at the camera. I know this might be an obvious one, but you'd be surprised by how easily it can happen to look away from the camera. It is very annoying. Four to student. If you do this regularly each time you look away, the connection you've been building up with your students breaks off. Now, if you aren't used to looking at the camera lens directly, it indeed might be a bit strange and uncomfortable. In the beginning, however, try to imagine the lens off your camera being the eyes off your students give busy minds, and it might help to maintain that I contacts as well. Practice creates mastery the more you duties that more comfortable, it will also become. And finally, when you frame your camera, give yourself the right amount of headroom. Headroom refers specifically to the distance between the top off the subject sets and the top off the frame for both photography and cinematography. Composition is incredibly important redder than pointing, and shooting composed the image to be pleasing. Let me show you through an example of how much it matters. If I give you an example with no Headroom s now you can see it looks weird when there is no space above me. It gives no room to breathe. It is best to keep a centimeter or five, as you can see now, off room for your head to have some space. It's between that balance off, not too much and too little eater. Now the same applies for your body. While your entire body does not have to be on the screen, give your body some space on the camera. Els the same as with your heads. It feels like an crept in some down of box, while again too much room isn't good eater as it draws focus away from me. So here as well give your body a couple of centimetres off space in the frame off your camera. Now one thing while you don't have to put your whole body from bottom to top in the frame, whatever you do, do not get off the chin. As you can see, it looks ridiculous and not rights. You've been cut parts from your body, but do not got anything off from your heads, as it just does not look rights. Apply this tree simple but essential guidelines. When used sulking headshots put the camera on eye level don't look away and give yourself proper headroom, and you are sure to connect with your students rightly and come over as an instructor who knows what he or she is doing. 6. 2. Illustrations/Images/Slide Show with Voice over: the next style of creating a course is true. Using slide shows or illustrations would voice over. This is the most effortless style to apply in the course as you need the least amount of equipments. While you certainly can create the whole course using slide shows and illustrations with voiceover alone, it can quickly become quite dull. If you don't do this right, you're not alone. Need to be engaging with your voice, but also in the slide shows and illustrations you use. Let me provide you with a couple off tips on using slide shows and illustrations. You can make your illustrations or slide shows mawr informative and entertaining as something is happening. By adding text to highlight something you set, it's important to keep it simple. Too much text while you are also talking can be overwhelming and somewhat distracting in general, just include the keyword or a keyword phrase. I'm not saying you can't at more than just a key words, but keep it simple in my course house. Live a happy life. I wrote in multiple listens when I was using illustrations, a short piece out of the dicks that I was saying at that current moment Nothing too long. But it helped to give the attention as something new is happening, and it brings forward a lesson and its message more strongly. The student doesn't alone here the works, but also reads them while I'm showing this. Here is not a tip. When inserting text in your illustrations or slide shows, be sure to make the text easy to read. Make it big and bolts and nuts too small. Also use a clean and easy to read fun type s you can see here, even though using illustrations are the easiest style to use your course. Don't be lazy eater. Don't use the same slide or illustration for a complete listen or for a long stretch of time without doing something different. It's extremely boring. Bring variety and use different slide shows and illustrations occasionally throughout the lesson. Let me show you a short example of a beast for my course. How to live a happy life where I use the same slight for an entire beast. If your questions remain narrow, so will your conversations. Try it to construct your questions using the following wards. Who, what, where, when, why and how. If you ask a question using one of them, you create an open ended question instead of a close one. Open ended questions are questions that you can't merely answer with a yes or no. For example, instead of asking that you like visiting Belgium, which quickly can be answered with a simple yes or no construct instead questions. OK, I hope you haven't left this course by doing this. Now let's do the same, but mixing things up using different illustrations. If your questions remain narrow, so will your conversations. Try it to construct your questions using the following awards. Who, what's where, when, why and how. If you ask a question using one of them, you create an open ended question instead of a close one. Open ended questions are questions that you can't merely answer with a yes or no. For example, instead of asking that you like visiting Belgium, which quickly can be answered with a simple yes or no construct instead questions using who , what, where, when, why and how such s what the zoo in Belgium initially, what you're doing s you can probably feel it's farm or engaging and entertaining. Therefore, don't use the same slideshow or illustration for a significant portion off one lesson, but makes it up by using various ones. Now, if you're wondering which program to use for slide shows or where to download illustrations , check the BDF research file. You can do more with slide shows and illustrations than just inserting text. You can make them come to life by zooming in or out. Nothing too crazy, but it does a lots. It might take a minute or two longer to do this, but it gives a much stronger dynamic to your course, and it can significantly improved entertainment level to keep your students attention as well, helping to emphasize the point you're trying to make. 7. 3. Demonstrating: to take it even further than merely talking head shots. Create video based courses where you can demonstrate what you're teaching. Toe your students. If you're teaching something that you do with your hands, such as how to cook with working yoga, giving massages, etcetera, it is better done on camera with you demonstrating the actions redder than through sleights for illustrations, animations or talking head shells. Why? Well, simply because these are subjects that are better taught by demonstration and learned when you see someone doing it. Now, the two main points to keep in minds are the following went demonstrating something. Take your time. Please don't do it at the speed you usually do. For example, with cooking. Don't shove the carrot as fast as you usually do, but slow down so your students can take note of how to apply properly. The slicing techniques being dots I'm not saying you'll have to do it is for each carat. You'll be shopping throughout the whole course. However, the first or second time you're doing something, be sure to slow down, especially if there is a particular technique involved in what you're trying to teach. Now, as simple as this sounds, Don't forget to duties. What might seem natural to you may not be so for someone new to this. If you go to fest, your students won't be able to see or understand what you're trying to teach them. Lastly, be sure your camera is set up correctly so that your students can see what you're doing. Were you ever at a school trip and events or workshop? Etcetera, where someone was demonstrating something, but you couldn't see what they were doing? It's annoying rights. Don't make the same mistake of positioning your camera at such an angle that your students can clearly see what you're doing. Alternatively, if you can use two cameras, one is aimed directly at you, which is the one you will be talking to, and the other one is positioned somewhere else at your left or right sides with the lens. More assumes in this way when you are, for example, explaining it. Tool that you'll be using in your woodworking course, and you're talking about a specific part off that tool. You have two types of shots. One more zoomed in and you could switch between frames in your course. Now you certainly don't have to have two cameras if you want to incorporate videos where you're demonstrating something, However, if you can do so, it's certainly a nice extra for your students to allow them to see more clearly what you're doing. If you're using only one camera, make sure to frame your shot well enough that your students can see you and what is happening. 8. 4. Screencast: another course that is showing people what you're doing through the computer for my beginner course in Prospero's ing and anything. I mainly used this style throughout the whole course, as everything had to be demonstrated on the screen. Now let me give you a couple of essential tips and guidelines in using screen guests for your course. Now you could indeed record only the screen without you in the picture. However, I would highly recommend that you do not do this. It's always much more pleasant when you can see the instructor. Also being able to see the instructor on camera helps a student establish a direct connection with the instructor, which is something that matters. Most programs that let you record your screen, such as Ben Again, also allows you to record yourself through your built in camera. Now, a few tips on that. First, the quality off built in cameras suck. Therefore, I would strongly advise against using your built in camera instead, invest in a proper weapon. There are great Web gems. Price between 80 to 100 and $50 offer excellent audio and video quality in the BDF research file. I will include a league to a couple of good ones that you can shakeouts. Or you could use a camera or even your phone if you have an iPhone X or Samsung 10 or a buff, and then use a program such as Endo Premier to combine boat files. This, however, involves much more work. Therefore, if I were to recommend a better way, it will be that you invest in a webcam and use to software Ben again to record your computer screen and yourself. True to rip him, the program itself will do all the work for you. Finally, there's the audio here. I would recommend the exact same thing as with the video Eater invests in a quality webcam that offers excellent audio quality or invest in a good camera and use a shotgun microphone or a USB microphone like the eddy to record the sounds. Whichever your choice don't go for the lazy way and used a built in microphone off your computer, the quality is anything but goods again. The easiest way here would be to invest in a webcam. However, if you do generally want to have incredible audio, a quality microphone such s deity used in combination with a webcam for optimal video quality will bring the best possible results for your students. However, a decent webcam will provide good audio quality. If you don't have the budget to buy a microphone. Now you can find the equipment I've mentioned in the lesson here in the BDF Resource File, where you can as well check for the prices. 9. 5. Video Footage: yet another style to create your course in will be using video footage. Here is an example from a short clip out of my travel photography course in my Star for Gore's The Ultimate Travel Therapy Course. I used a lot of video footage I had shot for my travels with voice overs to explain the lessons. Now you could either use your material or you could use a website that is a library off stock videos. If there is a side, I would highly recommend it will be our grid now. There are other websites like shutter stock, for example, that also allow you to buy video footage that you can use. However, in terms off price and quality art rate is outstanding in the beauty of research file. You can also find a link to this side, which is a referral link that will give you two months for free. Now. One thing that I want to mention here about using video footage in your course. If you're talking about a lifestyle or a skill or a profession you are engaged in and you want to incorporate video footage in your course, do show actual video footage that you had shots or in which you appear. This is 100% better than using stock videos. Why? Because using stock videos doesn't feel like you're living up to what you're talking about . For example, if you have a course on how to be a successful public speaker, but you only show video footage from a stock website about someone else doing public speaking throughout your course, it becomes a bit questionable if you have ever done any public speaking yourself. Another example. It will also be a bit strange if I keep talking here about creating a course, but always run clips from other people's courses and never show any off mine. It would feel like I really never created a course myself rights. This was what exactly happened in eighth RV course I once followed. Throughout the entire course, the instructors showed famous photos that other people took, never showing any obvious images. Now I'm not saying that that instructor is not a skilled photographer. Alternatively, the guy showing stuck videos off someone else doing a public speech might be an excellent bubbly speaker himself. However, by doing this, you are depriving yourself off one important quality credibility. Therefore, if you want to incorporate video footage when you talk about a specific thing, you have done its best to show yourself doing it or to use video for that you have shot yourself. Otherwise, you can undoubtedly you stop video footage in your course if you are merely trying to explain something better or to enhance your lesson and bring variety to your course. 10. 6. Animation: finally, the last style you can create your course in its animation. The reason why I've left animation for less is that while animation could look incredible, it is also expensive s You may already realize unless you have a budget, most people who are just starting out creating courses won't be able to use animation because it is expensive. At the beginning, however, it doesn't have to be extremely expensive. I have worked with an animator to develop multiple courses. From my experience. Let me share with you some tips to reduce the price off animation first. Of course, you don't have to fully animate your whole course. And personally, I would say Niedere shoot you. As I said, Variety Worst best, So use multiple styles throughout your course. You could animate certain parts off Ellis and bars that could be best explained through animation and the last dip. Often, when I worked with an animator, I tell them they don't have to fully animate the complete script, but only parts of its meaning. They can animate the text and incorporate a few animations here and there. Those do tips are honestly the most crucial ones. I can give to help lower the gusts. Yet still have your animation Luke gets Now. If you're wondering where in the world finds an animator, I recommend you search on up work dot com or Viber dot com. I found a few great animators true upward dot com, and I regularly work with them for my courses if use the filter tool on up work. Orv ivor You could look for an animator with excellent skills but who charges lower rates because they are living in a country with a lower cost off living there. Yours. This way. You can pay a significantly lower price for their work well, at the same time helping them make a living. 11. Combine At Least Two Styles in a Course: Here is Why: I would like to round out this lesson on the different teaching styles with any important notes out highly suggest incorporating at least two styles in your course. I know I dropped this in previously while explaining the different styles, but I like to emphasize it one less time. Just to be clear, why use at least two different styles? Well, there are two main reasons why the first and foremost reason is that it brings variety to your course. Variety matters a great deal as it keeps the intention off your students on what you're saying now. Imagine if in this course all I did was used talking head shops on Lee for every single listen for three hours straits. I'm quite sure you get a least a bit bored and annoyed with looking at my face all that time. Therefore, variety as a relationships life and anything else matters if you want to keep things fresh and exciting. Therefore, using at least two styles truly changes the whole dynamic off your course. The second reason why you should use more than one style is that every man, it gives you a different way to explain something to your students. Certain aspects off your lesson could be explained better to illustrations others through animations and still others through real life demonstrations, screen guests or talking head Schultz. I'm not saying you have to use each and every single style in your course, but knowing each one do consider what will work best to explain what you're teaching your students in each particular lesson. Now, in the succeeding lessons, you'll going to learn more about how to correctly structure your course to help you decide for yourself what style you want each part to be, whether it should be an animation illustration talking head shot, etcetera. This is something we will talk more about in the lessons on how to structure and outline your course. Now that you know all about the different styles, I hope it has broadened the possibilities off. Teaching for you, while incorporating more than one style, undoubtedly involves more work. Remember that you are here because you want to learn not merely how to create a course, but how to create a best selling one. Doing this surely will help to set your course apart from the others and increase the chances that your course will become a bestseller. 12. How to Effectively Script and Outline Your Course: So what are the waste structure out your course? Well, here in this lesson, that is precisely what we will learn. There are two ways to write out your course outlining and scripting. Let's look at boats separately to see which one you like better and works best for your course. 13. How to Script Your Course the Right Way: first, let's talk about scripting. Scripting out, of course, means you right out every word you're going to see in. Each lesson s in a movie. You write out the script for your course. If you choose scripting, note that it will likely be the most time consuming part off creating your course scripting out. Of course, depending on how long the courses and how many hours you can work on, it per day can easily take up to three months for a treat for our course. However, scripting is still my preferred way to create a course, mainly because you know exactly what you're going to see. Where you're teaching your students with a script, you won't have any moments where you're saying, um or, uh repeating yourself and you won't come across as unclear, which can quickly happen if you merely outline your course and fill in the rest at the moment you are recording. That is not to say that nothing can go wrong where you are recording yourself, reading your script to your students. The main thing that again and often happens, is that you could come across as robotic, especially if you did not practice now. Soon we will dive into a couple of lessons on how to be an excellent instructor, where you will learn essential skills to make sure you won't come across. As for a body, what I also can recommend is to record a test. Listen to see how you beer on the screen, especially if you're making your first course, and you aren't too comfortable being on camera yet. It can also be helpful to send this desk video to a couple of people you trust and who you know. We'll give honest feedbag and ask them to assess whether you appear natural or robotic. If you do come across as robotic, practice some more and focus on the skills, we will come to learn on how to be a great teacher. What could help you enormously to become more fluent is to read through in advance the script off the lessons you're going to record the next day. Moreover, do another wreath true as well on the day itself. This way your brain will already be familiar with parts off the script, making it easier for you when you are recording, as you will have to think less about the text itself and more about how to see it. This reduces your chances of making a mistake and increases the likelihood that you'll come across as more fluent and less robotic. Now, how exactly does reading your script and recording it work in practice? Well, you could memorize the whole script in your heads, which I did with my first course. Now I tell you, this is not the most effective way at all, and it takes an enormous amount of time compared to the alternatives and better idea I had after that course by a daily prompter. Using a teleprompter is by far the easiest and most effective way to record yourself while you read your scripts. Now what exactly is a daily prompter and how does it work? A. Teleprompter is a display device that provides the person speaking with an Elektronik screen, showing the running text of a speech or script. Using eight daily prompter is like using Q courts. The way a teleprompter works is quite simple. All the Gamarra, a hood with a transparent glass, is his Stultz. At the bottom, there is a mirror that reflects the script on that less right before your camera lens. Therefore, you can look directly at the camera lens while reading off the script and still come across as speaking naturally. Now there are two options off using a teleprompter. If you don't want to spend any money at all, you use a free website such sq prompter dot com. If there should be an even better website for this, I will update you about it in the BDF research file. This site works, and it's quite easy to use you just skopje the text off your scripts and enter its in the website. Just a few settings, such a size and speed of the text and you have your teleprompter now notes that while this option certainly works, you should still make sure during recording that you do not appear to be reading off a script. Diskin quickly happened where you're reading off your computer screen compared to an actual Taylor prompt device that is right in front of your camera lens. A computer screen doesn't duties, meaning your eyes will be looking down. Instead of rights into the camera lens S. You really have to position the camera or webcam a bit above your computer screen. Also, if it is to evidence that you're reading something, that you can see your eyes going from left to right, this can completely break the connection between you and the students. Make sure that if you use a website to turn your computer into a teleprompter, you reduce this eye movement as much s possible now. I personally would not use a website to turn your computer into a teleprompter, as it's not the ideal way for the reasons we just learned. But I did want to give you a free option if you don't want to or can't afford to spend, This certainly does the trick. However, if you can't invest some money to make your course better, I would highly recommend the second option by an actual daily prompter device. Now this certainly isn't a considerable investment, as there is a great portable daily prompter device from parents gusting 100 and $93 that works together with your phone. I've used it ever since, and it's been honestly one off my best investments in terms off course equipments and making the whole process of creating a course more enjoyable. I will provide an Amazon link to the products in the Pdf research file. Also, if I should encounter or here off entertain Lee, prompt devices that many instructors use, you will find it there with this device. Every possible mistake that can happen if you use your computer screen as a prompter is far less likely to occur as the device is indeed right in front of your generalists. As for tips out also advise you to make the fund big enough, it will naturally reduce eye movements. Also, as I mentioned in the beginning, make sure that you practice using a daily prompter record a test video to see how much your eyes are moving. So again, I would highly advise you to invest in an actual daily prompt device like the one I mentions simply because if you read your script the wrong way while recording that is, your students can see your eyes going from left to right or you're looking down instead of right into the camera lens. This could be a significant deal breaker and control the ruin. Your course. Invest some money to make sure the content off your course can be delivered with right care . Trust me it will certainly pay off in the long run. Now that we have learned more about scripting, let us learn more about outlining your course. Find out what not to do, and it's, um, dips for executing this more seamlessly. 14. How to Outline Your Course the Right Way: another way to write your courses by having solely the outlines, the talking points for each lesson and feeling this in at the moment you are recording the continents. I created my beginner course on Prosperous E and anything in this way. Now let me provide you here with some tips and important notes to make the process off, outlining your course more seamless. When you outline your course, plan out exactly what you'll cover in each section and lesson off your course. If you don't do this, you are likely going to rebel. And if you are confused and not entirely sure what you're teaching in your listen, it will also bring confusion to your students. This results in poor rural essence and a bad course. Therefore, plan out how and what you'll cover in each section and lesson off your course. Let me show you an example of how this could look like. For this. I'll use a part of the outline of one listen for my pasta processing and anything. Course in this lesson, I was teaching how to create a sunlight effect in a photo. As you could see, there is a clear goal that I have outlines how to create a sunlight effect. And then I merely wrote in bullet points two steps on how to create a sunlight effect, even though I already knew in my head how to do it. Having this bullet borns outlines helped me a lot in not rambling too much and staying focused on the goal off what I wanted to teach. Now this bullet points, as you can see, don't have to be extended. They can be as brief as you like, as long as you clearly know what you want to teach. Speaking off rambling here is a big mistake I made with my course on bus processing and editing. I did not entirely edit out all the rambling this course waas at 1st 89 hour course. After receiving some bad reviews, I started asking my students Why now? It turns out that there were indeed far too many parts. We're a rambled and repeated myself too many times, and this was annoying for the students. So over the next months I completely re edited that course, which took some time and get out two hours off, rambling from its afterwards. The reviews and ratings started to pick up and became much better today that courses one off my top selling courses, proving indeed how important it is to edit out any unnecessary parts now to prevent the same thing happening to you. Do make sure you edit out any rambling that you have included in your course. Don't make something longer if it doesn't have to be cut out those unnecessary parts and get right to the points. Give your students what they came for, what they should learn on the course topic, not some senseless of ramblings. And lastly, I would recommend that you either print out the outlines off your course or have them open on your computer so that you will be able to check them regularly mainly, so that you could keep track of what you already did. Focus on what you are currently covering and a vote going too much off trek. Hopefully, this pieces of advice will be off used to you bonus scripting and outlining your course. Now, if you're wondering which one works best outlining your course or scripting it this honestly, the bends are your preference. Vote could work well. It all depends on the way you like the beach and the way you feel you can teach the best. Also, depending on the topic off your course, scripting or outlining could be the better choice in general. When I'm explaining a program like light Room or photo shop, it seems much easier to do this by outlining in bullet points the topics I want the touch upon redder than completely scripting everything outs. Why? Well, because it's more of a practical lesson than it theoretical one. It naturally feels easier to explain what I'm doing at the moment. I'm demonstrating it in comparison. Scripting is easier for a lesson like this one. As I'm providing technical information and to meet heading a script feels much better, as I certainly will not miss anything important following its of course, note that you could also use boat minutes in your course. You can write out the script for some parts and simply outlined the other parts, which is precisely what I've done here in this course. In the end, choose what you feel most comfortable with an experiment throughout your other courses. However, these are the basic guidelines to help you make that decision. Scripting works better for theoretical lessons outlining works will for practical lessons 15. How to Use Your Script or Outline for a Better Overview of your Course: Once you've either scripted out your course or done the outlines, you can do something that I do with each and every course that will significantly help you get a better overview of what you want to do with your course. Let me share it with you, mark in advance. What you want to do here is what I mean. Once my scripts or outlines are finished, I mark everything I want to do in the course. In the following colors yellow talking heads, blue animations, green illustrations or slide shows, purple video footage, reds demonstrations, great screen tests. Now this art colors that I use. You don't have to use these exact same colors. You can use whatever works for you, but I would suggest that you decide beforehand which colors you are going to use and note them down. Stick to the same colors for the entire course, or it will get confusing and you might end up making mistakes to show you an example. Here is a portion out of the script off this course here. You can see how for the entire text. I'm Mark what I wanted to do. The bart where I was going to shoot. Talking head shots is marked yellow. The Barton s animations is marked in blue, and another one for screen Guest is marked great. Once everything is marked, what's I always like to do is record all the voice overs for the animations in one day and then record all the talking head shots another day and so on. This is, of course, just a suggestion. You can set your own schedule to record entire lessons or whatever you're comfortable doing . But in my experience, recording all the voice overs for the animation, say, one day, all the voiceovers for the illustrations or slide shows another day and all the talking head shots and so on. Yet another day has been proven to work very effectively, mainly because it's more elects to do it this way. As you don't need to switch between different setups from your microphone to your camera to your computer screen, etcetera. You can stick to one set up for a couple of days, such as your microphone to record all voice overs, and then, once that is done, switch to your camera computer screen, etcetera. Stick to that for the next couple of days, until you're done recording all those different parts experiments and see what works best for you. But I recommend this med it off Working Creating a course can seem like an enormous project . Therefore, marking your entire course according to what you want to do and how you're going to do it not only gives a good overview but also helps to break this massive project down into smaller parts. This way, creating an entire course feels much more doable and simpler to execute and accomplish. 16. What is the Right Length for a Course?: you may be wondering what is a right ling for a course 30 minutes, 12 hours Now there is no single right answer to this. Basically, the length off your course comes down to this. You should give your course the amount off time you need to cover Clearly the subject you are teaching now, certain topics are more complex and take more explaining than others. For example, my beginner course in photography was tree hours in length, as that was what I required to cover everything in that topic. On the other hands, my Prospero's in course in photography was nine hours. Lung software programs such as light through and photo shop have a vast number off tools that needed more explanation. Now I know it is might not be a specific, therefore, to give you some guidelines. First, note that almost all marketplaces require records to be a minimum off 30 minutes. That right there is already one marker for how long. Your course should be at least 30 minutes in length. Now, in general, I can personally say that I normally have a course that has a minimum running time off. One hour, 30 minutes is generally too short to cover any subject early for Tim or longer. Courses tend to sell better because people feel like they are getting more value for their money. This, of course, doesn't mean that the longer a course is, the better it will be. But students see longer courses as more value. It's a better deal in exchange for their money. That's indeed another reason why I personally would recommend a course that is at least one hour in late for many people, courses that are as short as 30 minutes a beer to offer the least value. While your course should be as long as a subject requires. If you are curious to know what link that tends to work best in general, it's courses that have a link overrun three hours. The reason for this ties together with a couple of factors. Because s I already mentions, it appears to have more value as its longer. But a second. It's on that fine line off. Not too long and not too shorts. A 12 hour long course might scare people away as they often don't have the time or don't want to spend the time devoting themselves to such a lengthy course. Many people are too busy. Therefore, Don's make your course longer. If you don't need to make it longer, teach what is necessary for your students to understand the subject clearly and what is essential for them to know. While I might be of repeating myself, let me end this lesson with my meeting points on how long your course should be, as long as it takes for content to be adequately delivered. Therefore, even though you do get some guidelines out of this lesson, don't stress too much about the length off your course. Simply focus on teaching your students what they should know to understand the subject clearly. 18. Three Mistakes to Avoid to Be a Great Teacher: creating a course with quality audio video animations. Illustrations at etcetera is one thing, but these are not all that matter. Knowing how to teach makes the difference between a course that will actually sell and received good reviews and one that won't sell and will receive board reviews. Being a good teacher includes the ability to simplify the topic you are teaching to engage your audience and use your voice correctly and make yourself understood in the lessons to come. I'd like to show you some steaks to avoid what debate ation to and how it's become a crates and engaging teacher. 19. 1. Audio Matters More Than Video: let us start with the first most common mistake many instructors make and Amy steak. I have made as, well, bad audio. If you had to choose between audio Bali or video quality, audio would always win because it matters more. Why? Because audio is what a course mainly consists off. If the audio quality off discourse where poor, it can significantly learned the learning experience as you might not understand me clearly or at all, let me show you by switching off my microphone and using the built in mic for my camera s. You can probably hear the audio quality shifts dramatically, and my voice sounds way less crisp and clear. Now let's turn that back on again. Having a group microphone is essential so that people can understand you. If I could recommend one thing that you should invest in, it will be the microphone. As it matters enormously. Now the microphone isn't the only factor that determines the quality off your audio. Another important fixture you should not forget is your environments. Let's go through a couple off deeps here that will help you attain optimal audio quality in your course with the use of the right equipment and by recording in a suitable environments , first and foremost, which microphone should you buy? Since this is equipment and real change over time, I suggest you refer to the BDF research File off this course there. You can fight the current and most up to date information about microphones next. If you use a microphone such as this one, for example, directly in front of your mouth, you need a pop filter. What is a pop filter? A pop filter is a protective filter for microphones that reduce this popping sounds caused by the mechanical impact off fast moving air on the microphone during a recording. Any word starting with a B or an F might make a popping sounds. Now let me read you a short fixed, which has a few peace and F's in it to show you the difference in recording with a puff filter. And without once upon a time, there was a dock. The name of the doc was Sim. She was a brief and fluffy dog where this story is going to, I've no idea. As I'm trying to merely say, if you read in things to you so you can hear the difference between recording your voice awaits a pop filter. And without a pop fielder, however, a legend say that the story of seven The Brief and the Fluffy Dog is supposed to be an incredible story. You can hear the beast and EFS Popping writes. This is because of the fast moving air as it comes out of my mouth and hits the microphone . Now let me repeat the text. But this time with the pop fielder attached to the mike. Once upon a time, there was a dark. The name of the doc was Sim. She was a brave and fluffy dog where the story is going to, I have no idea, as I'm trying to merely say, if you random things to you so you can hear the difference between recording your voice with a Paul filter and without a pop filter. However, a legends say that the story of Cem, the brave and the Fluffy doc is supposed to be an incredible story. S. You will notice the peace and EFS don't pop this time, but filters are in expensive, costing about 10 to $20 but a day will do a love to significantly improve your sound quality at highly recommend that you invest in one. If you're using an external USB or studio microphone, if you use a standard USB or studio microphone in a talking head shots, see if you can make the mic blend in as much as possible so it doesn't distract the viewer . For example, in my course on how to live a happy life, I use a USB microphone in my talking head shots. Now, even though you can see it's it is not distracting as it doesn't cover my mouth's. Alternatively, you can set up the microphone so that it hangs over your head, but just outside of frame off your shots. Or you can also position its rights under your camera like I'm doing now for discourse so your students don't notice it. Of course, you could also use a level ear, which looks like this if you use it, see if you could disguise it nicely in Europe floats so that he doesn't stick outs. If you're using a shotgun microphone, well, it's quite easy to hide this away s It's attached to the top off your camera so no one will notice is now there is an upcoming listen that will touch more thoroughly on the different kind of microphones. There are where I will as well provide more in depth tips and pieces of advice for each one . Here, however, you already learned some general deeps for equipments. Be assured to take note of them, as following these steps will radically improve the quality off your audio. Now let's look at the other factor that dramatically affect sound quality. Your environments. Let's start with the obvious but very important notes record in the quietest environment possible. Before you start recording, make sure you are in the quietest possible place. Close any windows, endorse and turn off the A C or anything that might create noise in the backgrounds. Alternatively, if your apartment isn't exactly in a quiet neighborhood or there is often some noise, maybe from your Children or others, what you can do is rent an Airbnb place for a few days to record everything. Yes, you'll have to invest the money. However, too many distracting noises happening in the background can really ruin an otherwise great course. Alternatively, what you could do is record during a time when it is the quietest in your house. Search s early in the morning or late in the evening. One less step to improve audio quality is reducing the echo. If you've ever been inside a large public space or loved with bare walls and hard floors, you may have noticed a distinctive reading sound called flutter echo. This phenomenon occurs when sound waves bounce back and forth between the walls, ceiling and floor, making conversations difficult. When you are recording your lessons and sound echoes in your room, it feels like you are more distant. Gold sounding your ward also bounce around, making you sound less clear. It's not pleasant to listen to someone whose voice is echoing. I've certainly made this mistake in the best Buy. Nothing taking this seriously enough. Echoes can be reduced, however, quite easily by doing the following. If the room you're recording in Hess and Eco cover hard surfaces with pillows and blankets , closing your curtains also reduces echo as glass windows can bounce sound around the room. You can also use furniture such as a bookshelf through juice, echo or install sound absorbing panels on your balls. If the echo is truly that obvious now, if you're wondering how to tell if sounds echo into room. If you're recording in a spacious room with not many pieces off furniture or things on the walls, you will very likely get an echo in the room, the smaller to space, the better in terms off limiting echo. If you aren't recording in a small studio, the chances of having some ago in your audio are very likely. Therefore, do apply some off the simple tips we've just covered such s laying billows around room, heading a carpets, closing curtains, etcetera. A lot of attention through your audio, as it indeed can be a major factor that makes a difference between students. Leave your course and giving you one star ratings to students staying and showering you with five star ratings. It certainly takes some efforts, but if you're here to learn how to create a best selling course, you certainly need to get your audio rights 20. 2.How to be an Engaging Teacher: next, let us learn another important thing to remember about being a great teacher. Be engaging. If you want to be an engaging instructor, it matters how you use your voice as this can make your course in a boring or engaging here is what you need to pay attention to and how you can use your force correctly. The first thing to remember is not to use the same tone all throughout. Do your best not to sound like you are reading off a book. Bring on your content with energy and melodious nous. First, let's go through an example, and then afterwards let's get into the details. Let me read you a piece from this course in a boring and dull way, using the same tone all throughout. First and foremost, you can create a suitable background using real world the environment around you. Incorporating a suitable background. Using the real world does not have to be complicated and can easily be achieved by merely having a clean background. It's easy for your students to loose attention and dust. Get boards. Now I'll let you hear the same text again. However, this time I'm using different Don's and adding melodious nous to my voice. First and foremost, you can create a suitable background using the rial world, the environment around you. Incorporating a suitable banker on using the real world does not have to be complicated, and it can be easily achieved by merely having a clean bed grounds. As you can hear, there isn't defined difference between the two. You also noticed this time that it was easier to pay attention to what was being set. The don't off my voice goes up and down, making it much more engaging to here. It's the same as would sing where you can hear different domes. A great speaker will also use different Don's when they are speaking. Here are a couple of basic yet very effective guidelines to incorporate melodious nous in your voice. Start with a slight upward inflection off your first words or at the start of a section off your text. This signals that something is about to begin when there's a gummer half an upward inflection as well. This signals that you have more to see when you ask a question. Also have a slight upward inflection in your voice. Upper tones indicates openness dour tones do nuts. If I rare to in tone why did you drop your keys while dropping my tone? That I would be indicating displeasure s You can hear if I ask this question with an upward tone, Why did you drop your keys? I sound much more friendlier rights. Therefore, keep in mind that when you ask a question to your students, have a slight upward tone when there is an important note you want to emphasize to get across to your students, raise the volume off your voice A bits. This signals that a particular wards or sentence has more significant meeting and one less essential tip. Have a neutral inflection at a period to signal that it is the ends off your sentence. The G is, of course, the sound natural. While doing so. This comes through practice and buy enough, overthinking it too much. Otherwise, you might come across s robotic and not natural at all. Also too much melodious nous, while speaking, comes across as a bit strange, too. You don't want to be all over the place with your words, as this is redder annoying for the rest of this lesson and the rest of the course. Pay attention to how I continuously used these five basic dips we just learned when I speak this way, you could already start practicing now in deputy of Research file. I will also provide a couple more articles and videos that delve even deeper into using melodious nous. And don't mawr engagingly while speaking. If you want to learn even more, do have a look. Don't talk too fast when you're teaching. If you do, it can be hard for your students to understand what you are saying. Slow down and talk clearly. Be aware off the length of each breath you take. When someone is nervous, they start taking frequent short, shallow breaths, basically hyperventilating. If you talk to fast, Students may not understand clearly what you're saying and may end up leaving your course. Therefore, take a bretz talk clearly, boss and repeats Now. The opposite also holds true. Don't talk to slowly think of a slots or a turtle. There are enough funny videos on the Internet where you see them taking ages to get somewhere or animated videos. When they tried to say something, it's not always through that this lower you talk, they clear you become for your students. If you talk to slowly, you will likely lose their rotation as it's taking too long for you to get to your points. With the result that students might also get impatient and ends up leaving your course, you need to find that fine line between not too fast and not too slow. Basically, you just need to talk naturally. For most, this will not be a problem at all. However, since this is an important note, it is good to point out in the case, you might be so one who talks too fast or too slow. If you are wondering, you can make a test video and send it to a friend you can trust to give you honest feedback . Now for sure, I have an accent, too, as I'm not a native English speaker. However, just because you speak English with an accent doesn't mean you shouldn't create a course and can be a good teacher. The main thing is, if you have a sharp accent, tell clearly and understandably, even though I haven't accent, I do think that most people in general will understand me, clearly writes, If not to let me know. Now, if you aren't too sure how clearly you talk again, you can send a clip off your course to a native English speaker, which you could find up work. Or to someone you know who can provide you with an honest answer about whether you speak clearly and understandably, despite your accents. As you may notice, there is a lot to consider about voice showing how important it is. Be aware off this points about your voice, and you will surely become aim or engaging instructor. However, voice is not the only thing that matters when you want to become an engaging teacher. There is indeed more another mistake many instructors make. Besides, using enforce incorrectly is standing in a kind of Bellway in their videos. Like some kind of robots. Of course, everyone is different, so you have to do what is natural for you. However, if you want to be a more engaging instructor, make sure you teach with energy meaning move your body, use your hands to further explain certain concepts like I'm doing right now, movement holds attention. Also, your face is a way to be more engaging. Show your emotions smile, etcetera. If I do not move my hands at all, or if I remain expressions, lists and merely talk and stare atyou, this won't come across as natural or engaging, right? Of course. Don't overdo this eider. Don't move too much that he becomes distracting. Likewise, Don't make too many crazy faces that he becomes creepy. Try to be spontaneous now. I know it might be easier said than done, so pretend when you are talking to your camera that you're talking to an actual person. This could help. And then, of course, it's all a matter off practice as well. Finally, to B'more engaging, you have to make eye contacts. The lens off your camera represents the eye off your students. Therefore, look at its don't look away too much as this doesn't build connection with your students. If I start talking and I look around anywhere but at you, it's really annoying rights. But secondly, you are completely disconnected from your student. When you do this, if I look at you again like now you feel a difference rights. Don't underestimate the importance off eye contact. Now, this doesn't mean that you can't look away for a second. When you are thinking or explaining something, it can happen and its OK as that's natural. Here again, it's all about being natural. As always. Staring at lens without blinking is a bit weird, too, so pretend that your camera is an actual student of yours and it will be all of this. In the end, dust come down to practice, but knowing is a big part of being able to practice it, so be sure to keep busy mind when recording your listens. 21. 3. Simplify the Subject, Be Sure Your Students Understand What You Are Teaching: a famed quote from Albert Einstein that perfectly dies in with this lesson here. If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. The goal of teaching is to make a complex topic easy to understand. A government stake you see in courses is that the instructor makes the subject more complex by using difficult words, not providing enough examples or enough explaining the why off what is being thought. Be sure to be aware of this. Don't make this subject more complicated because you want the sound smart. You will only come across as a fool, as this will backfire as you won't be helping your students. Instead, the reverse is true. If you make a subject look easy, you will sound like a genius. Now, does this mean you have to be an expert before you can teach a course? Not at all. Do you still remember one of our first lessons where we learned the treetop reasons for creating a course and how creating a course can help you become an expert? If you don't have that level of mastery yet, or if you don't feel you are an expert research and study your chosen topic will, when preparing your course. And you can be Gump and experts along the way, as long as you're able in the end, to simplify your subject for your students. Now let me give you an example to show more clearly the difference between explaining something the complicated way and explaining something in a simplified way. Let me explain to you what productivity ISS the complex version would look like. The following productivity is a measure off the efficiency of a person in converting inputs into useful outputs. Productivity is computed by dividing the average output per period by the total costs incurred or resource is capital energy material personnel consumed in that periods. Productivity is a critical determinants off cost efficiency. While these does explain what productivity is, it's so complicated that it has more likely left you with more questions and confusion rendered and brought you clarity rights. Now, if we simplify this using no complicated words and going straight to the point, it would look something like this. Productivity is a skill that allows you to use your time more efficiently and effectively. Well, this is an example of a worth that in general isn't too difficult to explain in simple terms, it does show a good difference between explaining something to complex way and this simplified way. In any topic, there are parts as straightforward and obvious as they might be to you That will be totally new for your students. Great teaching requires you to put yourself in the shoes off your students. Therefore, keep well in mind that you should simplify. So anyone can clearly understand what you are teaching Now observe. You know what I just did? I showed you an actual example. Didn't this help you to deepen your understanding off the difference between explaining something the complex way and a simplified wait, It did rights. Therefore, be sure to incorporate enough examples in your lessons because this greatly helps to provide a better understanding off your topic. Also something that you might have seen me do here in due course. If not, you certainly will notice. It now is to explain the why Why do this? Because you are digging deeper into the actual reasons of why it matters. To do that which you're teaching or to not do it. See what I just did? I explained to you to. Why? The reason why it matters. Let me show you an example. Building further on the previous example we know now what product of the ISS productivity is a skill that allows you to use your time more efficiently and effectively. Here could be an excellent place to explain to your students the reason why productivity can be so helpful to their life. That could go as follows. Why does it matter that you, mestre, to skill of productivity? Because whatever your goals, projects or dreams you have, knowing how to use your time more efficiently and effectively will greatly help you in achieving them again. This is a simple example of how to incorporate Dubai and helping to deepen your students. Understanding off the subject you are teaching in the process of creating the content for your course, you should occasionally ask yourself, Why does it matter that they need to notice? That explained those reasons? Do your students. This will only help deepen their understanding. Keep this points that we learned here well, in your mind when creating your course. Because if the company off your course isn't easy to understand, students will relief. Now here is an exercise for you. Take note when going through the rest of the countin off their scores and see how I am applying what we have learned here. Notes. When I'm simplifying this subject, note the examples I give and when I use why to bring an even deeper understanding practice here while learning more about how to create your best selling course. Now, with that, letters go on to the next part off the course. 22. Real-World Backgrounds: If you generally want to create a best selling course, you can't overlook your backgrounds. In this lesson. We'll learn about the two kinds of backgrounds you can use in your course. First of foremost, you could create a suitable background using what you see in the environment around you. Now incorporating a suitable background using images from the real world does not have to be complicated. In fact, this could be easily achieved by merely having a clean background behind you. What matters most is that your background does not distract your students from what you're doing or saying honestly, if you want to keep your core simple, just having a clean background that does not distract her students can be enough. I've created a couple, of course, is where I had a clean background that did not have any distractions for my students, and these have sold many times over. However, if you do want to take it a step further and use a background that complements your course , make sure that your background adds to your story. Here is what I mean. For example, if you're creating a course about cooking, let your kitchen be your backgrounds If you're creating a course about survival or climbing or something outdoor, stake it outside amidst nature. If you're creating a course about yoga, see if you can do it in a yoga studio. Or give a spiritual ambience to the room for your recording. The lessons by adding candles or other similar props. If you're creating a course about learning to play the guitar, see if you can incorporate something musical in your background, such as other guitars on the walls or posters related to music. If you're creating a course about a scientific topic, try to do it in a LEP or alternatively, in a classroom. To take your course to a higher level, use a background that adds to the story off your subject. If you truly want to immerse your students in the course you are teaching, this type of background does not have to be complicated. For example, I recorded my beginner course on photography in my Venn. It works perfectly. It created this space that resembled traveling and exploring something that you often do when taking photos. The At Variety. I mixed it up by sitting outside for a few off the lessons where I talked about the philosophy off Tara Fee. I went to a forest nothing too complex there and used nature as a suitable background. It matched perfectly with the topic I was teaching about what photography had taught me about the world. While creating a suitable background could mean more work, it does not have to be overly complex or too difficult to create. As you can see from the example, however, it didn't make a dramatic difference to the extent that my students were immersed in the subject being discussed, especially if compared with just using a white wall for the whole course. Take some time when you decide to create a big round using the real world. Think on what would be a suitable background that would add to your subject and make your course that much more engaging and fun for your students to watch. Now, if you can't find or create a suitable background from the real world, then there is the second kind of background you can use a fake one 23. Fake Backgrounds: another type of big runs weakened uses a fake beg grounds. Now what that means is a self created backgrounds. For example, using a green screen, the first gonna fake background you could use is a green screen. Using a Korean screen, you can easily change your background to any photo illustration or video. You choose it. One of my courses, titled Travel Photography for Beginners. I used a CREA screen throughout the whole course to showcase photos, videos and illustrations while I explain concepts, shared dips and offered piece of advice about travel photography. This work exceptionally well as I was able to take my students to get her wit me on a journey to the places I had been using. A green screen could work well and can bring excellent results, especially if you're showcasing many illustrations or pictures, and it like your students to still see you as well. Now, if you're wondering how to use a green screen, it's really quite simple. Let me explain to you the whole process. In a few simple steps, the equipment you need consists of tree items. First, you need a green backgrounds. If you go to any photography store or on Amazon, you can easily find a green studio backgrounds in the PD of research file. I will include links to a few suggestions for these. The Bryce Range is somewhere between 10 to $50 so it's nothing too expensive. Now when hanging up the green backgrounds, be sure it's stretched sites and not loose. This matters a lot, as it will make it easier for you when you are masking out the green screen in post production, which we will later learn. So be sure there are not too many wrinkles in the green backgrounds. I'm not saying there can be any in its, but the fewer there are, the easier it will be domestic out the green backgrounds. The second piece of equipment you need is a bag drop studio strength. This is used to hang the green background on If you're creative, you can, of course, create something yourself. However, a big drop studio stand is also quite inexpensive, ranging somewhere between 30 to $60 it is handy to have also don't forget to buy clams so you can attach the green background to the bag drop studio stand. Check the PDF research file to find a few good suggestions. The less piece of equipment you need is light. Now you do not necessarily have to buy this. It all depends on the room that you're in and delight that is available there. The important thing is that your evenly lead when you use a green screen. Why? Because if you're not evenly litz and one side of the green screen is darker while the other one is lie. Either you are making it so much harder for yourself to mask out green later on, as you would then be working with multiple shades of green. Therefore, be sure that when you use a green screen, the whole screen and us well are evenly lits. Don't use a light that chance from only your right or left sites. Now there is a whole lesson in this scores that will give you a more in depth coverage, alighting what equipment by how to set up lighting and so on. All the information you need to know about lighting will be explained their here. However, I just wanted to emphasize you the importance off being evenly leads when using a green screen. So once you have recorded what you need for your course, you have to put the material into a video editor to mask out the green from the green screen. Eso you can then overlap it with an illustration or video. Now I'm gonna show you how to do this. But in the anything program at a premiere. Now, there are so many editing programs that allow you to do this so I will link in a Pdf research file, some utter videos, some other tutorials where you can find how to mask out the green in a green screen for which, ever, at a anything program that you might use. So let's jump here into at a premiere and let me show you how to do it. We have our clip here, and this is a clip from my travel photography course. Once we have put the clip in your editor than you go here in adult true two effects and you type in ultra key keep. And here you say the ultra key affect you click, drag and drop. It's on the cliff here. Now, if you go here to effect controls, you can go here to ultra key and here with the color selector. Take its and click on the Green. Now here is where I say that it's really important that the cream background is actually very smooth. Eso no wrinkles. I do have some wrinkles here also that it's even well, it's I am not completely evenly lit. So there's some different greens that we're working with here, which it works, but you make it more difficult for yourself if you don't evenly let yourself or if you don't have it completely wrinkle free eso you know, disc leap. I definitely not course Acute of Don. It's made it myself easier by having those wrinkles, outs and having myself even real. It's, but sometimes you have to use what you have available. So here, in this case, I was using lighting from insights eso no actual studio lighting and, uh, well, maybe I was a little bit lazy. Are not completely removing those wrinkles in here, But I tested it outs and he worked. So once we have the color selector select, it's just click on the green, and the goal is to have everything in black. So here we have some highlights showing now we can go here to met generator. And if we in this case here now, decrease the highlights. We are completely making the backgrounds black now. But you might have to maybe play with Shadow or any of the other ones here. So play a little bit of rounds, don't overdo anything writes from the moment everything is black. That you good. So now we need, um, some other material here. So I'm gonna take this photo and gonna baste it here. I have to put this on top here to clip off me. Just put it together, and you can see that's how you condone mask something out. Let me just the scale here. And now you can move you now. It could move myself year around wherever I want. Now, you can clearly see that there is still this green year. Some it's not completely mashed out. So if that's the case, play around here. Maybe the shadows. Ah, maybe the tolerance. That's not doing something. Um, here. Okay. So, you know, maybe once you have messed everything out, double check. When once you have put administration or a video there that everything is completely gone. Um, like now everything is masked out if I move myself around? Uh, yeah, it's completely gun. There's a little bit of some black here, but, uh, four in this example. I'm not gonna put too much time on this. It's okay on. Once you've done that, you can. You can play around, position yourself wherever you want on, and that's pretty much all of there is to it to mask out the green from your green screen. Now, of course, you could also use a paper bag runs or a big run with one single color and leave it at debts. This getting these have excellent results to the great thing about using a blank background is that the focus is all on you now. You could also mix it up if you're creating a course with multiple people, for example, using a different background color for each instructor. Or if you would like to mix things up in your course, you can also use a different background color for each section off your course. Each color brings up a different feel, an emotion. While it certainly might be an extra effort to switch between different background colors, it does make your course more vibrant and exciting, as well as bringing variety. Do take a moment to think about which color to use when you want a solid backgrounds. As I said, every color brings a different feeling or emotion. Try to find a suitable color for the kind. Of course you are creating or alternatively, one that is suited to the personality. You have to give you some ideas about the effect off colors. Here are a few colors and their moods. Redd's the most emotional, intense color. Red stimulates faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color off luff. If you're creating a course about relationships or love, a red background could be suitable. Blue. Peaceful, tranquil in blue causes the body to produce column in chemicals It could be a deride background color to use when you're creating a course about boats were diving or even something calming, such as meditation. Green green symbolizes nature. It is a calming, refreshing color. If you're creating a course about traveling or about the outdoor screen could be an excellent option to use as a solid background color. Yellow, cheerful, sunny yellow is an attention getter. If you're creating a course on a topic involving happiness Yellow could be to write color purple, the color of royalty, purple keynotes, luxury welts and sophistication. Using a purple background color for a course about jewelry could set the right moots brown . Trustworthy, reliable brown is the color off hurts and its abundance in nature. Having a brown bag round for a course on yoga or mindfulness could be right for the topic. One more note about using a solid backgrounds. While you often see courses using a wide backgrounds out, recommend staying away from this. It's hard to get that really clean look with a white wall or beg rounds. In some courses, which have a wide background, the white simply looks slightly 30. You need perfect lighting on yourself and the white background to make it be really clean. I'm not saying it can't work and that you can't use it if you feel it's right for your course. However, it's a little bit harder to get this rights now. Heavy learns a great deal more about which beg runs are suitable for your course. Let us continue onwards. Do the next listen 24. Three Types of Microphones: Alright, it's time to learn more about microphones and which kind of microphones to use in your course. In this lesson, we are going to cover three types of microphones that are used most commonly in videos as well as for courses. Now, for specific microphone recommendations, do check the pdf resource file there. I can provide you with an up to date list every year off the latest and best microphones. Now, one thing s I have already stressed in a previous listen, audio matters more than video. Now, therefore, in the pdf file, I've not listed any budget microphones because I want you to have a microphone that delivers excellent audio quality. If there is one thing to invest money in, do let it be a microphone. Trust me, you will not regret it. Terrible audio will results in a terrible course. We are learning here how to create a best selling course. So if you want to create a course like that, do invest in a good microphone. The level here is quite an affordable microphone that can also offer great audio quality. Now, this mikes are perfect. When you're moving around in your course, the audio volume and quality will remain the same as no matter where you go, the level you're stays in the same position. Now the great thing would level. Ear Mike's is that you can place him anywhere. Therefore, you can also stick them on your skin or underneath your shirt so it's completely invisible . There is a product which I will link in the beauty of research file that allows you to stick it anywhere. Without much efforts, I'll turn to the fleet. You can also use good tape. He does take a bit more work to hide it, but concern Lee look much cleaner that way. If you don't hide it this way, just make sure that the level year doesn't stick out too much. Try to plan it as much as you can what your clothing. The best thing is to wear a button down shirt as the level ear microphone can be attached to the gaps in between the buttons. Besides, that's a jacket or blazer with lapels. Will work will to do. Make sure to test the audio when it is in place. Make sure there is no rustling sounds. This typically happens when something is moving over the level here, Mike, like clothing again. To check this else, you might end up with an entire course heading this and knowing rustling sounds. Now there are two kinds. Off level ear microphones, a wired one and a wireless one. A wired level ear microphone is more affordable and easier to use than a wireless level. Your microphone. You simply plug it directly, either on your phone or in your camera, and you start recording now notes. If you use a wired level year, make sure the cable is not hanging in the frame off your screen. If that is the case, either move closer to your camera or by an extension cable to solve this problem. And then there is the wireless level. Your microphone. Here, the microphone cable ISP lucked into a small transmitter. The dress meter can be stored inside your pocket or attached to a belt. Now, the biggest advantage off the wireless level ear microphone compared to the wired one is that it allows you greater freedom off movements you can effect. Also use a phone or a second phone. If you use your phone to video record, your course s a transmitter using a recording app, which every phone should have standards you could records your audio boat, A wires and wireless level earlier could work incredibly well to record the audio in your course. Then we have the shotgun. No nuts. The weapon. The name off the mic is indeed because it has a similar shape as a shotgun. Now, if your camera has a hot shoe, which looks like follows, you could slide a shotgun on its or, if you want to record your course, true, your phone. There are actual, quite decent shotgun mikes for that, as well, which you simply plug into the Outsports using a shotgun. Mike is the easiest way. In fact, to record audio, you plug it in your camera, put to Mike um, and that sits. You don't have to do anything afterwards anymore. The audio is already merged together with video. It's not complicated at all. I've used shut, get Mike's myself for many off my courses. And then, indeed, we have two USB microphone. Now, a USB microphone certainly delivers some of the best audio quality while at the same time not being extremely expensive. The Blue yeti, for example, costs about 100 $20 delivers incredible sound quality. In fact, this is the mike that I'm using right now for this course. The only downside through a USB microphone is that it's more of a hassle to uses. It requires more effort to set it up, and to record with its set up can be done in different ways. However, the most common one when recording, of course, is the use a microphone stent and position the microphone above your head right out of the frame off your video. Of course, you can also position it right under your camera, as I'm in fact doing here with this course. Or you can place it in front of you, which I did for my course on how to live A happy life. Best off course is to blend the my completely away as it could be distracting for your students and then to record your audio, you will need a recording software such as Audition. This means you need your laptop in range to pluck your USB microphone into its When doing so tried to place your left up as far as possible. Why do not have any noise from your left of fan being recorded as well. If they use a USB microphone, make sure your camera also records some audio to match the recorded audio from the mike with your video. Hopefully, this lesson has given you some good insights into the options there are for microphones. For best quality, a USB microphone will do the trick for easiest recording. A shotgun is incredible, and for most freedom, the level year will suit you. Will, whichever choice you go for all tree are excellent options again for specific equipment recommendations, have a look in the pdf research file off this course. 25. Lighting Setup: lighting is a topic that covers a lot of grounds. It can easily be a two hour, 23 hour course on its own. There are hundreds off different possibilities in lighting setups, equipment, etcetera. However, I want to keep it as easy as possible here, as it certainly doesn't have to be complicated. Let me first start by answering why you need to take lighting seriously. Firstly, because our cameras need a little bit off help. Modern cameras are amazing, but they don't perform to their absolute best under low light situations. Without lighting your video food, it will be grainy, resulting in poor video quality. And then, of course, the second reason why you should take lighting more seriously is that you will appear much cleaner and clearer in your videos, resulting in a more pleasant experience for your students to follow your course. Now, professional lighting can be costly starting summer from $100 to thousands. However, it certainly does not need to be that expensive. For every course I've created. I merely used lighting from insights, and if you look at each one off my best courses, they do have excellent video quality with good lighting conditions. Maybe not the absolute best, but certainly meeting the standard requirements off good quality this year is, in fact, the first course, where I'm using additional professional lighting nonetheless s. I can speak out of experience. You certainly don't need to use this to create a course that sells and is received. Well, look at all my previous courses and you can see this is true. What I did, however, with my past courses is to correct and enhance the lighting and colors in an editing program like at a premier. While in the lessons to come, we are going to learn three different ways off using lighting. In your course, a Willis will show you how to correct an enhanced light and color in an editing program. So let's dig into the lessons and learn the first lighting minutes to use in your course 26. 1. Studio Lighting: Three-Point Lighting Setup: let us start by learning about studio lighting with studio lighting, you'll achieve the best results as well as having the most flexibility and many possibilities with which to work. Therefore, it certainly doesn't hurt to invest in a lighting equipment, especially if you plan on creating more courses. Now I do understand that possibly you may have only intended to create one course. Therefore, it might feel a bit unnecessary to invest extensively in equipments, and that's fair. It's the reason why I also have two other options following this one. If, however, you do plan to create more than one course or you plan to make many YouTube videos or similar recordings, I would recommend that you invest in a lighting equipment as it will dramatically improve your video quality and make you appear much more cleaner and clearer on screen. Here in this listen, let me teach you about the standard minutes commonly used in visual media such as theater, video film, still photography, etcetera, and this is the Street point lighting set up the three point lining set up looks like this . As the name suggests, three point lighting contains treat lights. Let's take a closer look at this illustration to learn how to set up works. The lights. First, we have the key lights. The delight is the main light source, which shines directly on the subject. This is usually positioned from either the front right sides or the front left. The delight establishes the overall look and feel off the shots among all the lights in Tree Point lighting. The key light should be the brightest. Position is somewhere about 30 degrees to the right or left off your subject and in a relatively high spot. To reduce shadows on the subject's face, fill lights. The fill light provides balance to the delight by filling in the rest off the subject's face, which softer lights the fill light should be positioned to decide. That's opposite off the key lights. In the scenario illustrated here that's on the right side. Don't position the key and fill lights symmetrically. The feel should be at the subject's face level and should get rid off any remaining shadows . The intensity off the feel. It should be about half that of the key lights back lights. Finally, we have the back lights. The backlight creates a flattering rim off life around the subject separating him or her from the backgrounds. It can be placed anywhere behind the subject, but make sure to keep it out of the shots. You'll once angling down from a high position to achieve a sharp outline on the edge of the subject. The wattage off this light should be like that of the fuel lights, or even less powerful. Those are the very basics off the tree Point lighting set up now a few other essential tips if you want to change the degree of intensity off any off your lights, but delights don't allow you to do so. You can tweak this by moving them farther away from your subject, which will likely be you. Secondly, make sure you have curtains in the room. You're recording curtains that completely block. Any lighting coming in will help your lighting. Why? Because of the simple reason that if you don't have any gardens or none that are take enough to completely block light from outside, you're going to end up with different lighting as your shoot progresses through today. Obviously you don't want these. You want to maintain the same kind of lighting throughout your whole lesson and ideally, throughout your whole course. Therefore, make sure you have curtains that are take enough to block light from the outside, and certainly it's best to start in a dark when you set up each one off the lights. This will help you differentiate among the tree lights you'll be turning on. This is a quick, yet hopefully clear explanation of how the tree point lighting set up works and how it apply. It's now in the beauty of resource file. I'll provide a few other helpful resource is on this. If you want to learn even more, you can also find their specifics of lighting equipments. Now, having learned how to use the most common lighting set up, let's look at the other two alternatives. 27. 2. Light in Your House: If you don't want to buy any lighting at all, you could use what you have in your house and create a three point lighting set up similar to that which we learned in the previous lesson. Try any lighting you have in your house that could simulate this. If that's not possible, and you truly want to keep it simple. You can also use the top lining from your ceiling and position yourself under its I used is in my previous course how to live a happy life. Do be aware these dust create shadows on the neck and doesn't evenly lights up everything, however, in all honestly, it does jump as long as lighting off your ceiling creates a sufficient amount of light for your camera to record without any notice. It's usable otherwise at lighting by turning on any other lights in the room. In the end, remember that audio matters more than video quality, simply tried toe up to my sliding as best as you can. If you don't want to spend any money on any lighting equipment, go for it and start recording in other courses. I didn't have the most optimal lighting eater yet, they still sell incredibly will. This just goes to show that if you're lighting isn't incredible, all is not lost. Now what you can do in which I do recommend is to optimize and enhance your video quality and lighting in an editing program such as at a premiere. Now let's jump into at a premiere so I can show you. Now note that there is gonna be a separate Listen here, coming up soon, where we gonna learn about essential editing techniques whereas, well, I will go over, um, a little bit off. What I'm going to show here is well, but here I want to show more how to correct color and just in general balance outs your video. So here in Edo, Premier, let's go to limit tree dollar here on the rights, click on its and go here to basic correction. So now we opens the basic correction panel here where we can do as the title suggests some basic corrections. Now, whichever editing program you're using, you should be able to have also the basic correction Option two increase the exposure contrast highlights and so on, so it could be positions somewhere differently. But normally though stools should be available now. Here the temperature. If you might be filming with more yellow dollars than you condone here with temperature, decrease it, for example, and make it more, you know, balance it a bit more outs if it's more infants to march rights. So something like that, you could balance it out that he could look more natural here in the things you can work with that as well. So it's a little bit off searching if you if there's too much warm so too much yellow than try to decrease it more to blue if it's too cold. If it's looking like this, for example here than you know, increase it a little bit. It's kind of like a little balance between that. So the temperature slider. You can use that to correct that, and since you don't really will have to use that per se, but you can maybe find shooting a little bit with that and here than a force we have. The exposure contrast highlights shadows, whites and blacks, and here we could start to balance Outs are video, so if, for example, we have shut very where it's very under exposed so very dark, for example, having the exposures lighter, increasing that we could at MAWR exposure. And if it's very under exposed and, you know, increase the shadows, for example. Now I'm just showing this. It's not really to be applied on this here, as this is basically pretty well balanced out, but it's basically doing the opposite off what you have. If it's too overexposed rights, then try to decrease the shadows. Bids tried to decrease the highlights. Ah, and then, of course, the exposure tried to do the opposite off what you have. So if you are filming in a lighting situation that is not optimal, then you can correct it by using this sliders over a year and doing the opposite off what you have. If it's too overexposed, so too much lighting try to decrease the exposure, tried to decrease the shadows. If it's due under exposed, so do dark, then try to just do the opposite and try to increase the shadows, bits and the exposure and player been around with the whites and the highlights. The main goal, in the end, is to have a balanced video, so don't overdo it's either. But just try to have it balanced. That's it's I'm not gonna make this more complicated, as it really doesn't have to be more complicated on. And that is, if you're lighting, situation is not optimal. You can infect in an editing program adjusted here in the basic correction by using the Sliders year that you should have in any editing program you might be using. While lighting certainly should be taken into account and shouldn't be ignored, you don't need a whole lighting set up you can to a degree, Veterans in boasts now note that the same also applies which we learned in the previous lesson. Be sure you have curtains that you can close completely. If you don't have that filled during a time off, they win. Delighting doesn't change in deeds in the evening. This will also allow you to edit in post your course much more easier as you will have to spend far less time correcting each different lighting situation altogether. Your course will appear more professional as the scene doesn't continuously look. Difference now lets us look at the less way for lighting Yuki use in your course natural light 28. 3. Natural Light: the last option is natural lighting. For the best set up for good lighting directly phase the window and set up the camera with the bank against window. Now. No, it's a couple of things. One. It is tricky to work with natural lighting as you're working on a time frame. Lighting changes continually. You only have so many right moments during the day to records, and this means the process of recording your course will significantly take longer. Secondly, vote any direct sunlight as this will create harsh shadows. Instead, you need soft lights. Cloudy days are perfect as a clouds defused the sun or aim to film during sunset or sunrise when the sun is still low in the sky. Whatever you do, avoid direct sunlight and record on Lee when there is no direct window lights. Now this also rings true if your record outside the best times are during cloudy days or during the sunrise or sunset, when the light is soft again. Whatever you do, avoid filming with direct sun at you. This will overexpose your shot, making you appear less clear in the video and yes, while imposed, you can correct this to some degree. You can't completely fix this. So if you could have voted to do so, let me show you two short pieces from two lessons in my beginner course on photography where I talk about the philosophy off photography. The 1st 1 was filmed during the middle of the day when the sun was shining directly on my face. Yes, I know this was a dumb mistake to make. However, we all live and learn it. However, dust coming handy now as an example. So here is the clip. What I lost so much about just walking around with a gamma because I know you will come to bring me an adventure And I even made now let me play you d optically which was recorded another day during sunset time. And I'm very grateful in a way that you started this journey of being a photographer and being more serious now in photography. As you're taking this course now, you can see an incredible difference in quality. Let me place boat next to each other so you can see a direct difference. I'm merrily showing this to you, so you see how much it matters to not record with direct sunlight in your face and how much of a difference it makes to recorded during more optimal times off the day, such as cloudy days or during the time of sunrise and sunsets. While it's trickier as you have less control, natural lighting dust give excellent quality lighting. If you absolutely don't have any good lighting to use in your house and don't want to spend any money on lighting equipment, the last resort is natural lights. Just remember before you begin, it is hard toe work with. Nonetheless, it's certainly a possibility. 29. How to Create an Excellent Promotional Video and Massively Increase Sales: a promotional video. A good inter video two year course is essential. Most likely before you enrolled in this course, you first saw the intra video. If the intra video was done well, it was likely also the motivator that made you enroll in this course here. In this lesson, we are going to learn the formula for creating an excellent promotional intro video that will help people decide that your course is the one they should enrol in. Let's start first with the length off your intro video. Don't create a 5 to 10 minute long intro video. The points of an inter video is that it's short and sweet and covers into the tree minutes . The following bullet points one. Welcome slash Instructor Intro to Benefits Treat Promo four. Structure off the course five. Ideal Student Description. Six. Thank You and Cult Action. Now it's better understand how to create a good intro video. Let's break down one off my intro videos to learn the formula for creating an excellent intro video for your course. I'll play you the Inter video first and then we'll break it down. Hi there. Welcome to the ultimate prosper acing and editing course for beginners. My name is Ellis Fast, and I am a professional travel and adventure for Darfur, and I hope that you already to take your photos from this to this after my first successful course, the ultimate photography course for beginners, where recovered all the theoretical and technical aspects off photography. I am super excited to invite you on a brand new adventure where we'll explore the other half of the whole that makes up with our feet, bus processing and editing. This course is designed each and show you all of fundamental techniques and tools off light room and Photoshopped. Now I've divided discourse with three sections. The 1st 1 will explain how light works. The second month will explain how Photoshopped works and all the different techniques and tools that we will need. And in the third section that's where the actual bus processing and editing will come to happen and where we will go over various different photos, all from start to finish, applying all those different techniques and tools that we have learned in those previous lessons. With every photo that we will come to edit in the third section, we will come to learn a whole variety of new skills and techniques that altogether will come to make your okay looking photos into stunning and dramatic looking photographs that will take yours and everyone's breath away. Now I hope to see you soon as I, for one, can't wait to be your feature and to show you exactly what's in store for you. There's a lot of fun to be had in taking this course, so Hubble boards and I'll see you soon. Okay, let's play it again. But this time I'll break video down to show the formula. Let's play the first parts. Start your video off with a short introduction of who you are and why you are the right teacher. To teach this topic, you can either tell them who you are and experience you have with the topic. Or, if you don't have the years of experience, the passion you have for teaching to stop it and why you started with it. Next, list the benefits off the course. What will be taught briefly? Go to a couple of the lessons that will be covered in your course, so people watching your intro video can have a small taste a little snippet of what is to come and what they will learn now. As you might have noticed, the first time I played this intro video, there is a small moment where I also promote my other course might beginner course in photography. Now this is a bonus that you could incorporates in your intro video. If you do have another course that you want to sell, also, tie in that out. Of course, if it could help explain a subject that is being tough in this current course, so as not to create any confusion this way, someone who was looking for a beginner course will not buy something that is for advanced learners or simply something they are looking for. If a short promo moment for another course can be beneficial for people shaking out that course that do incorporate it in your intro video, it will benefit boat. The people checking out your course ends us well. You could then explain the structure off the course. As I do here, I let people know discourse has three sections, and what each section touches on this can help to provide some extra clarity on how the course will work, then let people know who exactly this courses for who is the ideal student for this course . Now here I could have possibly done a better job off telling people that for example, I could have said if you don't know much about plus processing and editing, this will be the course that teaches you everything. However, in this part, the message still comes across clearly that if you want to learn how to convert your photos into dramatic looking photographs, this is your course and finally finished off the video by saying thank you. Then give a call to action. I do that here where I say I hope to see you soon and show my excitement to be the teacher of whoever is viewing the intro video. This is the general formula for how to create an effective intro video for your course. Now, this is a general formula. You don't necessarily have to follow that precisely. Of course, most off my inter videos like this one that I showed you don't follow exactly the number off seconds. If your introduction part is a bit longer than 20 seconds, that's no problem at all. Alternatively, if you want least even more benefits. At the end, you can do that's this formula is here to serve redder as a guideline to make sure that you touched upon some important points, such as instructor info benefits off the course, the structure. Ideal students thank you and call to action. This are important points the half. In your intro video, however, you are free to created do eight you ones. Now the points of an inter video. A promo video is to attract potential people who are interested in and get them excited about your course. Here is where music and visual resource is to enhance your promo video are necessary to create that excitement. As you saw in my intro video, it is appropriate music and show parts off the course when I touch upon the benefits and what people be learned, this makes it more visual and entertaining and holds the attention as well. If you can mainly include this two points, music and visual resource is in your intro video, you'll be able to create a highly entertaining inter video. Now let's take a moment to break them down. It can take a bit of searching to find a good song that is appropriate for your course. However, it helps a lot to have a good one. Therefore, don't just go with any song, but use one that fits the topic you are teaching as well as the style of your intro video. Also note that you can use more than one song. This way you can work with different moots now a few great websites to find royalty free music, meaning music that you can use for content. You earn money. Wits are the following art lists Audio Jungle premium beats. Now I use artless, which I highly recommend. Their catalog of music is endless. They work, however, with yearly subscriptions. So if you only need one or two sons for your intro video, premium beef might be the better choice. If you plan to use multiple sons here course, however, getting a subscription at Artless could end up being much cheaper. The intro video is often the last video I create when I make a course, simply because I can include content from the course in the intro video, I would highly recommend you do so as well. People already get snippets off what will be waiting for them in the course. This could greatly help drum up their excitement. Give them a better idea of what the course has to offer and make the video mawr entertaining toe watch. Now don't rush when creating the interview. While it's not a long video, put some reasonable effort and time in this to build it into something that generally excites viewers and makes them curious enough to enroll in your course. A good inter video significantly increases the number of students and rolling in your course more over. It can indeed be the make or break fracture if it isn't created well, if it's done well following the guidelines you've learned here in this listen, you'll surely have many more students and rolling in your course, and it'll drive your sales much higher. 30. How to Easily, But Professionally, Edit Your Course: Once you have filmed everything, the next stage of creating a course is anything. This is likely to be the most time consuming stage some people do not like editing. But others like me love it's This is the part where everything false together and you start to see your course come to life. It's cool, but as I said, it can take quite some time. There are hundreds and thousands off waste Edit your course, and there is a vest arsenal off tools and techniques that exists. However, you don't need to know all of them. In this lesson. I will teach you the essential tools and techniques to fully edits and assemble your course . These are all techniques and tools after use for all my courses. And indeed, for this one, anything can undoubtedly be complicated, but he does not have to be. Let me show you 31. Essential Editing Techniques: Let me walk you through a couple of easy yet essential techniques and waste. Edit your course so you can get started. I want your step by step through techniques I used when editing a course to illustrate. I'll use a lesson I'm currently editing for Discourse, the video editor. I will be using its head of premier. Now. You can use whatever editing software you like the most. However, if I could recommend a video editing software, it will certainly be no premier. Note that if you're using a different editing software, you can do it the same things for the most part. But certain functions I will be using here might not be available in yours, especially if you're using a free anything software. Naturally, the tools in a free software will be limited compared to an advanced editing software such as premier. None the last. Most of what I will show you here. You should be able to do a most if not all editing Softwares. Now I'm going to teach you the basic editing techniques that you'll need to completely edit your course, and what I'm going to show you is basically everything that I do for any course that I've done and swell for discourse. So I'm completely showing you how to do. It's on, and it's really not complicated at all. So let's jump your into my computer screen. So let's start from the star, right? Take your files. So we got a video file from my camera and that the audio file, which is from my microphone, which is standing over here. So I'm recording the video with my camera and the audio separately with my microphone, my USB microphone. So let's take photos, files and let's open here at a premiere. Allen's drag drop and drag him down. It's just zoom outs. There we go. So now you can see here. This is the video file, but it also has the audio file attached to it that was recorded in my in builds. Well, microphone off my camera, and here we have the audio off my microphone, my USB microphone. So, uh, this is where it's important that you do record the audio with your camera. If you also really use a external microphone, eso you can line them up and match it. You can do it without is well, but it's gonna be more difficult. So now let's just lined is up and the kind of match. Let's see, But look it. Take a moment here to line is up. Zoom in a bit more. All right. Let's just believe now, once you've it. All right, so that is lined up right now. If you wanna unlinked the audio from that video footage, just click on its right click on its and go year two. Unlike now it's unlinked. So now you can take this audio here and just delete it. And if we want a link, this video file with the audio just left click on its shifts and click on the audio file, right Click and go here to link. And there we go. We just linked those files together. Let's just put him closer. All right, So that is that right? That is how to ah, link audio to a video file now. Well, I mean, basically, we're just gonna gut things out that we don't need S o here. This is all just, you know, parts that we don't need where I'm just getting ready to start recording so we can click on the sea here and just jump that off. Let's just take delete. That's and let's maybe find unit a little bit more. So we have more this Let me walk you through a couple of easy get. Right. So here is where I made a mistake, right? So I did a few tries. Let's just see. Let me walk. You. Okay, So I gave you, like, two tree ghosts. I want your step. So let's get those out as we don't need them. Ah, let's delete that. We got this. Now, let me walk you through a couple of easy yet essential techniques and waste. Edit your course so you can get started. Okay? And here, take a little boss and then I can tune on with the rest. So we're gonna stitch that together by just cutting this off here. Removing that's and just placing it next to each other. Alice zooming We could blaze that a little bit more closer together. Oh, that's too much. Just let's see. I want you waste ended your course so you can get started. I want your step by step. That's basically all that I will do for the rest here, off everything that I've records And, you know, if you look at the rest of the course here, you will see that's Ah, that's how I did the course here. I just stitch parts together where I took a little moment, A little break, uh, of silence. So I stitched that together. Artists, I want your step by. And as you can see, you don't really notice it. It smoothly flows together. So that's that. That's how to cuts and stitch your course together. Now, if you want toe, you know, adds a course title, of course lesson title. As I do with each lesson. You don't have to do that rights, but I'm going to show you how to do it. If you do want to do that on. So let's click on the deep for the type two allergist. Click on here and you can see got a little boxier. And now, when you're anything by the wave, if you have scripted out your course or if you've outlined it, I would always open up and have your your documents, your document there, where you've written your bullet points order, complete script off that lesson. I would have that open, so I'm gonna copy essential editing techniques and heavy open so you can have an overview right off what you're editing and how to structure out your course. So I got a copy here, the title and it's open. It's now let's just peace. That's good. And that is our title down. So if we go here to the right by essential graphics, we have a whole range of options here of customizing our tile. So here you can actually align your title. And this year is your horizontal center. So just gonna make it horizontal and here is gonna vertically center it. So you know, if you want to have it in the middle, then click on boat. Those two here now, a nice thing to do is to have some spacing between your letters. You again don't have to do it is. But I'm just showing you off how I am actually editing this course here. So spacing You could do that over here. So it's now 10 Let's increase that to a hundreds. Alan Center reverting again. And as you can see, there's some nice spacing in there Now, from out of my lessons here in this course, you will also notice that with the beginning off a lesson the course, the lesson title also has, like a square box, arrived to create that it's really easy. Just click here and go here to the left to the pen tool and click on cults and left like until you have the red rectangle tool. Now go up through here and just click and dreck. It's only if, like, a nice shave here. Now, we don't want that to be filled with great rights. So go here to appearance. You could see Phil unclean. That's now you have to click arm stroke If it's not clicked on here, it was already clicked on. So if it's not clicked on click on Stroke and it's set on one, we're gonna increase that to five. So as you can see, it's more you can see more clearly now. Now, let's go up here to a line and let's align this as well. Um, and basically that's it. If you could go V again so you just have to normal Aero here and click on the graphic. Uh, you could edit this year and make you the live it bigger or smaller or you know, put in bettering position on, and that's basically it on. How creates what I've done in my course. Um, let's put this year in the beginning. Now let's take this dragon here. Start now, If you want to make a fade in and fade out effect. It's really easy. Just left wing gun. It's on the beginning here off this bar and right click and go to apply default transitions . Now you can see here. If we play now, it is fading in. And if you click your off this bar, you can actually make it longer if you want now to say can be applied here. So just click at the end and right click a blight default transaction transition, and now we're actually making it flowing. It's a bit more together, so let me walk you through income and we couldn't move these around writes. We could move in the mirror like this. Let me walk you through a couple, and that's how I would do that that are already a few basic things, right? Nothing too complex and basically what I've shown. You can do it similarly in any editing program. Now let's go and Scovell a little bit on how to improve the video quality off your course now. First of all, you should, of course, tried to optimize true your camera and by having lighting good lighting so you don't have to do a lot. So it's more like fine shooting in the editing program like I'm going to do here now. So click on the footage Go here to limit limit tree color and click on it. And here you have basic correction. So click on that as well. And here you can do some basic correcting, actually, off the shadows that highlights exposure little. That's maybe if your footage is under exposed, you can increase the exposure. Or if it's over exposed, you could, you know, decrease the highlights, maybe, or Dwight's. Um, this is all about more find shooting, right? So the settings that I have here is I have blacks have that two shadows have increased that your do 20 highlights. I have decreased that to minus five, and that's all off the corrections that I'm making here, here on the left side, actually, by the effect controls school down. You have limit tree color. Now you can click on this and double the effect on and off. So let's just see it before and after. So, like, you see, it's more balanced outs, and that's really the goal by doing the basic corrections to balance your footage out to balance your video outs. Now that's to do the basic corrections off video, but the scent of moods We Let's just one click this and go here to creative Now here you can apply lutes and loot stand for look up tables, and any movie will use that Now. There are hundreds and thousands of fluids to use, and I will effect in a Pdf research file. Um, suggests a few websites where you can buy lewd baggage is so you can you can insert them in at a premiere on, even if you a few free options, I will insert there as well as, well, how to install him. So so you know how to do that. But at a premier comes with some lutes already in there. Now I have a whole range of them that I've bought us well, and I have and show what eludes like every Lewis basically looks different. Here is a little preview. So if we click on its, there is just every eludes. Just gives a whole different feeling, too, to your video. And this is about finding one that that fits your moods, that you want to go for foreign. Your course. Now the one that I f is just go to it, um is the F 8 500? That's the one that's the one that I've picked. That's the one that I use throughout this whole course. Now the intensity is way too much. So what I would suggest is do not go for 100% with any loose, but decrease it. So I have decreased the intensity here, too. 35. And this looks way more natural now. Rights. And if we go here to the left again and unclean, the effect here you could see it gives more saturation and more of a punch in their off colors. So that's what this flute has done and has set the tone off this course, making it a bit more warmer, more colorful. Now, the last thing that you Critz inserts in your, um your lessons is music. Now, in general, I would be very careful with that as it many times doesn't work really good, basically because it's more distracting. There are parts like, for example, the intro video where you should definitely use music. Or at least I think so, as it makes people more excited on. It's just like a short clip to make people excited, right, and music and deftly helping death. But when you're teaching, you don't need that. You want people to just understand you, and music can make you less understandable. Now, whatever you do, I'm not saying you can use music. But whatever you do, don't insert music with lyrics. And the reason why is because lyrics their awards in there. And if you're speaking and then there's, like music with lyrics in the backgrounds, it's just confusing for your students. So if you want to use music than insert music with just instrumental, just use instrumental music. Okay? Otherwise it's just gonna be too much. Now I have downloaded the year just a clip I'm gonna inserted here. Um, this is not a good fitting music now, but basically that to show you don't do this now. Okay? Okay. So what I'm showing you is that that the music is way too loud and that you can't hear me at all. Now this honestly happens in YouTube videos, but also in courses that the music is way through loud that you can't hear the instructor reduce its that it's just somewhere in the background. If you want to use music, right, but make it that you can hear it, but at the same time, not too much at all that it's not distracting. So the way to do that is by right clicking here on the audio file and go to audio gain. And let's reduce the audio gain by 25. Maybe. Let's take another go. Let me walk you through a couple of easy yet essential techniques and waste. Edit your course so you can get started. So that's more what I would go for. Uh, you, you still here? It's but not distracting. So if you insert music, do it like this. Otherwise it's not nice. It's really not nice. Teoh. Want to hear what your instructor is saying, but you can because of the music. Now, music in general doesn't work well for many courses. Um, in definitely ganda like you. My travel photography course, I have made many lessons that I wanted to create more in sort of a short movie style. So I had showed video footage is off my travels while explaining what I was trying to teach them my students and having because he was video footage off, like my travels and landscapes and all that. I wanted to have, like music, and it really fitted well together. And he kind of felt like a short movies every lesson. But as I said, it was music with no lyrics, just instrumental, and the music was just there to be in the backgrounds, so people might. My students were still able. You hear what I was saying. See if it fits for your course in general, most courses music I would not insert. It's as it doesn't really do much goods for most courses, but there definitely are certain courses where it can definitely do something as the example that I gave with my travel photography course. This is a process I follow with editing a lesson. Now that you know these steps, you can start anything your lessons to create this course of yours. Now, once you've edited your listen, it's time to export it into a complete video. What are the best exports cities? Let me show you 32. The Best Camera Settings and Export Settings for Your Course: Once you've edited your lesson to your liking, you need to turn it into a video ready for upload. Now, in general, this is quite straight forwards. Nonetheless, I do understand that this might be for some and maybe for you the very first time you'll be working with video editing software. Therefore, I want to show you how to export your video. Now, if you're using a different editing software than adult premier to export your video, you might have to do it in a slightly different manner in your editing software. In general, however, the commands will be positioned almost the same way in every editing software. If, however, you are having trouble finding how to do this in the editing software you are using, you can easily Google how to export videos in my movie Final Guts. Sony Vegas, which ever software you use. I will also link up in the BDF Resource File, a list of videos on how to export videos for different editing software. So do check there as well. If you can't find a good video about your editing software now, let us start by learning how to export your video. So let's jump here into my computer screen and let's go here to file and go to exports and go to media. Now, once we're here in this screen, there isn't actually much that we have to do. Just be sure that the format is said to age to alert and 64 now. Maybe the editing program that you have might not show that formats then just set it to impact. For just, you know, this safe beauty headache is basically the same. This file format, age 264 is the best file format, actually, as its high quality. But the format itself, the file is not too big, so it's perfect for uploading now. Besides that, there is one important thing that you need to know. Now. Here is something important notes on the device you're using to record your courts. Beat your phone or an actual camera. Be sure that you have the resolution said to 1920 by 10 80. Why does this matter? There are many reasons, but one major reason is that if you want to export your video in F H D, which stands for full high definition that will result in high video quality for every computer screen you will need to record your video using a resolution off 1920 by 10 80. Does that make sense? You can't explore something in a high resolution. If you're accorded, it's in a lower one. Therefore, before you buy a phone or camera, make sure it can record in 1920 by 10 80. Now, when we talk about an actual DSLR or mirror lists camera for sure, they will be able to record in 10 80 just so you don't get confused. 10 80 refers to 1920 by 10 80 but it's commonly shortened and mentioned in this way. If you do want to double check if the DSLR or muralists camera you want to buy can record in 10 80 you can google the model and have a look at the specs. Let's take, for example, the Nikon D 3500 a decent DSLR for beginners. Let's type in Google Nikon D 3500 and at video speaks here. You can see that this camera can indeed records in 10 80. Now let's do the same for a phone. Let's look at the Samsung s six that being a Samsung s six And at video specs and s, you can see the Samsung s six can records in 10 80 that once you know that your camera or phone can record in 10 80 you do, of course, have to switch it to descending. Now where this setting is found the bench, of course, on your camera breath or phone brands. However, if you type in Google how to change video resolution on Nikon on Canon on iPhone on Samsung , etcetera, you'll quickly find out how again. Be sure this is done first before you record anything for your course. So once you've set the correct resolution on your device, you really don't have to do anything else. But we got exports. As you can see here, basic video settings. This is it automatically matched the resolution that have sits on my camera. So there's nothing here that I have to do. Eso you could just go and click on exports and your very first lesson is exporting on and that's all that there is to it. And there we go. You have just exported your very first listen, ready to be uploaded and put online for the world to see. Well, don't 33. How to Enhance Audio in Your Course: as we have learned in the lessons on three mistakes to avoid to be a great teacher. Audio matters more than video here in this Listen, I want to show you a couple of ways to improve your audio quality, using an audio editing software such as Audition Now, there are indeed many things you could do to enhance audio. However, in general, when you have a good microphone and you use your voice correctly, there shouldn't be too much additional work. The main thing to do would be to clean up any noise, get out the ums and UHS and combined sections off audio, which is precisely what I like to show you. How to do here in this lesson now will uses software audition. To explain this to you, however, you will be able to do the same with any our audio editing software. If you are wondering what other audio editing software there are out there, check out the beauty of research file, where you could find some useful suggestions and even a couple off free options. All right, let's jump here into my computer screen so I can show you how to end audio. So let's start off by adding an audio file to audition, which is here in this case, the audio editing program that I'm using. So this, uh, audio file here is for an animation for discourse. Eso let's take it and just click and drop its into audition now, which ever audio anything programmed you will use The things that I'm going to show you here are super basic, and it doesn't have to be complicated as he will do what it needs to do to get the good sounding audio. So if you use an utter audio editing program, you should be able to do the same things that I'm showing you here now for any animations or illustrations, you want to clean up your audio. So there are probably a few parts where some, um, sore or parts that are are not smoothly flowing over yet together here in an audio editing program. You can do that. So I'm gonna show you how now I'm gonna put my headphones on so I can hear well what I'm doing. And ah, let's take a look here writes, um, Now, if you're wondering basically into green here on the top, that's our voice. Right, But down here, you can see the red to explain this. Very simplistic. The bottom here to read it is way. More details to do more fine tuning work. And when we are going through this year, you will see what I'm what I mean with that, Um, So we let me just play a part here in the lessons to come, I'd like to show you some steaks to avoid what debate ation to and how it's become a great and engaging teacher. Okay, so what we're going to do is clean out the audio. Now, hear this part here. We don't need that right, So we can remove that. You can either click on the S to remove the sounds, or you can click on the leads to remove that completely away from the audio file. And we don't need it's room. So let's remove that in the lessons to come. I'd like to show you some mistakes to avoid what? Okay. And here you can hear me breeding now, in general, this is OK, but it isn't percent necessary to heavy there so we can remove that. And here you can see much more finer way off the intensity off my voice while here you can't. So therefore, like I said, you could do way more detail working. So if we want to remove that, let's just take that from there. And let's click on delete. Let's play that again. Some steaks to avoid what to pay irritation to right. It's much more smoother. I can show you before again that mistakes to avoid what to pay right. It is much more smoother to remove that some mistakes, to avoid what to pay irritation to and and you were doing another breeding. That weaker removes well to pay attention. Let's over beginning some mistakes to avoid what debate ation to and how it's become a great and engaging teacher, as you can hear, if there are so moments were breeding Utkan. You can completely remove that out as long as it sounds natural, of course, but it will sounds much more smoother. Actually. Now, here I took a moment to rests, and I'm concluding here. So we're going Teoh, stitch that together eso by just starting here. Let's go over here and down below. You can see here the moment when sort of my sound is stopping. So let's just got it. Until here, let's see. Aging teacher creating a That's let's go a bit more how it's become a crates and engaging teacher, creating a course with So that's maybe a little bit too close together. So let's just undo that angle a little bit back. And if you're wondering on how did you undo its control plus zits, an engaging teacher creating a course with So that's better, right? And there's little sparty er, so you can see here there's some unnecessary sound. Let's just remove that to become a crates and engaging teacher, creating a course with quality audio video animation. Basically, that is, it's on how to head its audio. So it's basically about just coming out. The moon's where your breeding, any moments where you're seeing arms rights, you can completely remove that. But if you're reading a script, you a lot less likely if firms in there. But it's more about the breeding to remove that and stitched together bars where you took a moment to pause, right? So that is all. Basically, that is there, too. It's too editing audio, and that's it's nothing complex at all. But it can make your audio sound so much smoother and cleaner. Definitely for any voiceovers. For animations, illustrations or slide shows, run your audio through an audio editor and making sure to apply the techniques we have learned here in this listen. 34. Marketing Strategies & Ways to Promote and Funnel your Course: in the lessons to come, we will learn more about marketing strategies and ways to promote your course to further increase its success. For the next lesson, I will go through a handful of highly effective minutes that have gained tremendous results for me in terms of increasing the sales and exposure off my courses. While there are certainly many more ways to market and promote your course, I want to share with you the strategies that I myself prefer to use and have experienced with because I know that these indeed work and are worth the efforts. Promoting and marketing your course certainly takes time. Therefore, it is better to focus on a couple of ways that are worth the efforts. Otherwise, you could be using up quite a lot of time and energy if you try out the hundreds of other ways to promote a market. Your course this trial and error is something that I had done in the best, and I don't want the same thing to happen to you. So I'm sharing with you here in this lessens the exact same strategies that award devoting your time to in promoting and marketing your course. Let's go and dig into them 35. How to Drive Sales Through Your Own Website: another great way to attract more students to your courses is by heavy your own websites. Your website is like your home base. First of all, it could serve as an excellent place for your students to learn more about you as well as find ways to connect with you on other social media sites. But of course, if you want to attract new students, do your course. Your website could be an effective way to do so as well. Now, the way you can generate more sales through your website is by having people visit your website. And one effective way to achieve that is by writing block posts. Now block posts generated visitors through something called S C E O s E O stands for search engine optimization. To explain everything about Seo, I would have to create an entire course focusing solely on the dystopic. For now, however, I will provide a link in the beauty of research file to a good you tube video explaining s you in depth just to give you a basic understanding here off S e o. Let's say you're looking for something on Google or whichever browser you use. And let's say it was about how to train docks. What do you type in the search window? Something along the lines off. How to train my duck So that right there how to train my dog is sculpt a key words they are towards people used to search for something went riding a block article It's essential to do some research before hands using, for example, Google keyword planner To discover what people often type in Google on the top You are trying to write an article about why? Because that is how you optimize your block article for it to be found on a search engine such as Google, hence the name S E O or search engine optimization. Having the right keywords helps improve the S CEO off your block article and this will help to attract more readers. More visitors to your website lading to possible new students for your courses. Now, knowing this, how can you turn your website into a funnel to generate more sales for your courses? Let's say you have created a course on doc training by writing additional block articles. Are your website about how to train a dog? You can include a link to your course summer in your block and let people know that if they want to learn more, you have an entire course devoted to training a dog. Here, as with everything we talked about in discourse, quality metres, it is better to write a haiku all of the article once a month that a low quality one every week. Invest sometime in writing great block articles with excellent s. You and you will be able to consistently drive traffic through these articles to your course. Don't just write one block article, but do several regularly. The more the better. But again on Lee, if the gun tint in the articles are helpful and of good quality now the great thing, of course with block articles is that once they are there, they are there. That funnel is created and it won't disappear. Leading all here along to new traffic directed torture websites and do your course 36. Podcast – A Whole New World of Potential Students: another incredible way to promote your courses by having your own podcast. This opens the door to a whole new audience. Let me explain how this could work by using an example of a podcast I've created. I'm the founder off an educational platform on life called the I PS Project. Were re provide information on topics such as mental health relationships, the minds, etcetera. These are topics relearned little to nothing about growing up. Yet they are a part off everyone's lives. Now on this blood from we also have a boat guest, the I PS, both guests where I interviewed psychologists, neuroscientists, relationship experts and people who have weather difficult times and learn tremendously useful life lessons, etcetera. Every year, more and more people xun into the podcast, and today some 5000 to 10,000 people listen to it every month. Now here is how a bought guests could drive sales to your course at the beginning. Off the boat guest, I let people know about the I PS Academy, a learning up that it's part off the I PS project. We're all lined courses can be founds. I'll let you listen through the announcement that displayed in many off the podcast episodes, so you can have a better idea of how this would go. The I B s Academy provides online courses from some of the best instructors out there on mental health. Personal developments, lifestyle, nutrition, relationships, mindfulness, improving your life quality, etcetera. Each course we offer has been made in collaboration with an instructor who has also been a guest here on the inner picture story spot. Guests have a look to see if there's a course to your liking. Read the full course descriptions and it shake out the thousands off positive for abuse from students who have taken the course by going to inner picture stories dot com slash academy. With that, let's dick into the interview every month. This funnel drives traffic to my courses, and with that sales now, besides the benefit off letting you promote your courses, there are a whole host off our incredible reasons why it will be interesting for you to create a but guests one connect with like minded people who also have an audience with the But guests have created foreigner picture stories, the i PS, but guests I can connect and talk with some fascinating l like minded people who do similar work about mental health relationships. The mind, etcetera. This, on its own, is extremely inspiring. Another benefit off interviewing other people is that they'll likely have their own audiences, meaning once the episode is out, they will most likely share that interview on their social media network, increasing listeners to your pot guest and thus increasing sales off your courses to work together with people you have interviewed. And because you have disconnection, you might end up doing something together with that person you have interviewed, which is precisely what I do for the I PS again a. Me an academy for inter picture stories, all courses where created in collaboration with people I've interviewed on the both guest or will be interviewing in the future. Working together, you can provide more courses for your students, and you may also end up becoming good friends with people you've interviewed. This benefits boat, your personal life and your career. Three. Help your suitors succeeds even more. Finally sharing a pot, guests very either interviewed other people or create more content on a topic can help your students even more. For example, in my course how to live a happy life, which I created for the I PS Academy. I talk about topics such as trauma to help my students even more. I invited a trauma expert on the I PS spot guest to talk about trauma and provides an even greater understanding off this topic. You can attach the link of relevant both guest episodes to your course listens or in a pdf resource file. There are a host off reasons why I would highly recommend that you start a podcast, which can be about any niche or topic. It could be about cooking, yoga, spirituality, business psychology, etcetera, off course. Do understand that this involves a level off commitment to keep the body s running. If you're really is just one or two, bump guest episodes and then stop altogether. Don't expect much to come out of it because listeners won't expect much from your pot guessed either. This does not mean you have to release a new episode every week. I released one every month. Here again, it's not about quantity, but about quality. You must create a place for your audience that is worth checking out and coming back to time and again, meaning you must keep providing content to keep your body just life and increase your listeners. If you're interested in doing a pot guest, give it a try. Don't be afraid to experiments. Keep in mind all the benefits that you have learned in this lesson. Commit doing 10 episodes over the next three months, for example, and see if you're still excited to continue doing so. If you are, you might have found a way that could become the main engine that drives most off your sales. Now, in a BT of resource file off discourse, I have provided a couple of great videos and articles on getting started with pot guesting . Check them out to gain some additional info if you are thinking off taking this step off, creating your own podcasts. 37. How to Funnel Sales to Your Course Through YouTube: another great way to funnel sales to your course is through YouTube. You dope is the second most use search engine in the world. Besides Google, almost five billion videos are watched every single day and you to pass more than 30 million visitors per day. It's an incredible place to build an audience and indeed, to funnel sales to your course. Let me tell you how a successful YouTube video does one off through things. It either entertains a viewer, or it helps if you're achieved something. Therefore, the way you can use you tube to funnel sales to your course is by creating either a tutorial or an entertaining video. And then, in the video and description, tell people about your course. Let me share with you an example of how an entertaining video as well as a tutorial video, can both be used to promote your course. Now how a tutorial video could end up funneling sales for your course. It's more self explaining compared to a video with the purpose of entertaining, however both working the exact same way. Think about flocks, for example. The purpose of a block is to entertain viewers now. You could create a block, but literally anything, for example, but you are giving a tour off your business in your flock. You can mention to your viewers that you also have a course available on how to run a successful business or when you're out walking your dog and you show your viewers a couple of tricks. You thought your dog you could let them know afterwards. Hey, by the way, if you don't already know, I have a full course on how to train your doc. Let people know that if they are interested, they confined into description more info about your course, and if you want, you could even offer a discount link. If you do, that lets them know as well. That's one example of how an entertainment video could help you promote your course. But here is another way. If you are a videographer or an animator, for example, you can create a stunning cinematic short movie or animation. If you have a course on that topic, let people know in the description off that video about the course or courses you offer on videography or animation again, this could be used in any way. If you're an actor, for instance, and you have a course on acting. Let people know about it all in your short movies or movies on YouTube. Alternatively, if you are a guitarist, pianist, singer, etcetera, and you make cover songs or original songs, put them on YouTube. If you don't already have them there, then let people who watch the video know that you have a course on how to become a better pianist. Guitarist, singer, etcetera. That's how entertainment videos can lead to course sales. Now let's explore how tutorials could do the same. S I already said the way a tutorial can help promote your course. It's likely more self explaining. Put simply, you can create a tutorial video explaining or answering a question often asked by people afterwards. Let them know that if they want to learn even more about the topic, you have created a whole course covering everything about that topic in depth. Now there is one important note to stay here. Please don't create a halt. Answer tutorial. But if you're can only get the real answer he or she is looking for by involving in your course. This is shitty, and no one appreciate this, you will only end up with towns up down forwards on your videos. Your tutorial should be its own islands, meaning it should fully answer a question. For example, on my YouTube channel, I have a bunch off terrific tutorials. One tutorial that drives a ton of sales to my course is where I answered the question.
