About This Class

Mixedmedia is an amazing avenue for self expression and in the moment creativity. Through this art form design, composition and color theory can all be practiced and applied or you can simply let the process take you where ever it leads.

In this class, you will learn how to collect papers, scraps, bits and bobs to use in a mixed media project.

Emphasis is put on using found and recycled items as well as Do It Yourself art supplies and inexpensive materials.

My class project will focus on the subject of traveling, but any theme or topic can be used.

Techniques taught and used but not limited to will include:

  • Found item collage
  • Stenciling with found items
  • Doodling
  • DIY ink sprays
  • Splatter effects
  • Gesso uses
  • Foil borders
  • Embellishing

By the end of this class you will have the skills and knowledge of techniques to create your own mixed media project to serve a reminder of a trip or vacation that will never be forgotten.

Here is an image of my class project using items found and picked during my travels in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
