Introduction to Domains and Web Hosting: All right, So it is very special section we're talking about web hosting in domains and working with WordPress locally on your computer. Now if you're already familiar with this topics and you don't need a web hosting, you already know how to install WordPress locally in a computer. By all means you can skip this entire section, move on to the next section. Don't waste your time here. However, if you're brand new to web development, web hosting domain names, then this session is going to be for you. In order to take this course, you need to be able to walk with WordPress. Now, this could mean either walking locally on your computer or you actually go the live world where you buy yourself a domain name. You get to sell some web hosting, and then you walk with WordPress live on the Internet. Now there's pros and cons to both sides. The major pros with working locally on your computer as well. It's completely free. You don't have to pay any amount of money. And then second, you don't need internet access so you can walk on your website anytime. It doesn't matter where you are. The major downsides though, is that you're not going to get the experience of working with an actual web host. So you're not going to know exactly how they protect your website from hackers and malware. You may not be able to do certain things like maybe install SSL certificates and so much more. There are basically things that you need to be live on the internet before you can actually do them. So your work and experience with working with what does locally on your computer will be limited. Now on the flip side, the major pros of walking that live on the Internet is that, well, you're going to get all the experience. Your website is going to be live on the Internet. Plus, if you want somebody else, like say for example, me, take a look at your website is going to be very, very easy. You just have to share the link to your, to your domain. And I'll take a look and it's going to be as easy as that. The major downside though, is that it costs money to buy yourself a domain name and also get yourself are some web hosting. But without being said, if you want own personal recommendation, I would always recommend that the live route, get yourself some hosting, get yourself a domain name. I just personally prefer that. But regardless, if you want to go the local route or you want to go with the live route. I have sped no efforts and introducing you to as many options as possible. Let me first of all talk about the live route. Now when it comes to web host, because you need a hosting company to host your website live on the Internet. I have two main options for your site ground and then cloud ways. These are two web hosting companies that actually personally host with our b would say gone since 2012, I joined Cloud ways are 20, 20. Now the major difference between both of them as that Saigon offers you something known as shared hosting. And then they also offered you offer your Cloud host. Now cloud hosting is superior to shed host. And because we've shared hosting, your website is basically sharing resources with websites are across the world. But with Cloud hosting is just going to be your own website. Having a particular amount of resources specifically used by your website, you're upset isn't going to share those resources with other websites. So basically cloud hosting is more superior. With that being said, though Saigon offers you both shed horse and, and cloud hosting, cloud was offers you only cloud hosting. They don't offer you shared hosting. So as a result, with side ground, you can get slightly cheaper alternatives. Like if you go to web hosting, for example, on safe ground. These are the prices, okay, So it starts from $7 per month, 2 all the way to $15 per month depending on which plan you go with. And then with Cloud ways, it's going to be a bit more expensive, like I said, because they only offer cloud hosting. But honestly, in terms of Cloud horse in itself, there among the cheapest that you can find on the Internet. Adele plants that from $10 per month all the way to $80 per month depending on the amount of resources that you want to buy for your website. Now in the very next video, I'll walk you through briefly how you can by yourself, domain names and web hosting with both Cloud ways and sad gone. But let me also mention that I have written extensive articles on both side ground and Cloud ways. I have also made videos comparing both said gone and Cloud ways. Here is one right here, SiteGround versus club who is hosting, which is better. You can check out my YouTube channel, the Web Monkey. I'll recommend that you subscribe as well. So I've made videos comparing site ground and Cloud ways. I have also made extensive tutorials on how to walk in the back-end of both SiteGround and Cloud was this is the one for SiteGround. So I showed you how you can take advantage of the features they offer you like speed, security, or services and so on. Everything is covered in the video. I've also done the same for Cloud ways as well. I've made a full tutorial walking you through the entire back-end of cloud ways. So regardless of which one of the two you choose, I have you covered, I have all the necessary information for you. I have also written articles on my blog and my girlfriend or chronic and check it out where a comeback, a compare both of them. And also by my honesty views about both our web hosting companies in shorts, I can stick my reputation on both Cloud ways and setting up because I walk with them. And the good news here is that if you decide to go with Cloud ways, if you want to buy yourself some cloud hosting, you want to go with Cloud ways. They've actually partnered with them to provide you with a very special discount that you can get to an effect percent off. For the first three months, you simply use the coupon code, cloud 125. But you also have to use my link, which I'll provide in the resources attached to this video. If you can't find the link to let me know and I'll send you another one, but you have to use the link and then you use the coupon code cloud monitoring and 5 to get 25 percent off for the first three months. Now, that's for the livelihood. If only goal law called wanna walk with what is locally on your computer. I've also made extensive tutorials. You can check out my YouTube video titled How to install WordPress locally week samp sample is one way how you can walk with WordPress locally on your computer. But I've also made another video for our local by flywheel. I am so Local by flywheel the S, It's another way how you can work with WordPress locally on your computer. You will find the video. I think the next one is going to be the second one after the upcoming video basically. So I'm going to show you how you can install what is locally on your computer with fly will end. Personally between exam and fly will, fly will fable is a bit better because with flywheel, you can actually generate a live link for your website installed locally on your computer. So if you need somebody to take a look at your website, you can do so with flywheel. So I'll recommend you use fable of a exam. So again, you can check out the video I'll have is going to be further down. I'll walk you through how you can work with flay will Hey, can install WordPress locally on your computer. So with that being said, that's basically the introduction to web hosting and domain names. In the next video, I'm gonna show you how you can actually purchase web hosting, which say ground. And also with Cloud was and also how you can buy a domain name from a site called, named Chip. Thanks so much analysis in the next class. 3. Buying Hosting and Domain Names: All righty. So like I said in the previous video, let me show you how you can buy assault web hosting and domain names with both our Cloud ways and side ground. Let's start off with SiteGround, and you can go to siteground.com. And then right here on the host and you will see web hosting. What hosts in WooCommerce hosting. It doesn't matter. They're all the exact same thing. I'm going to go with what race horse in and innovated. They have three main packages. Startup, grow big, and then go geek. Now, if you are non-personal recommendation, you wanna go with grow big because we'll grow big, you can actually install as many websites as you want on that single hosting account. With startup, you're limited to just one single website. So keep that in mind. Now with Colgate and grow big, obviously you see the differences. With Gauguin. You have access to more resources, more speed, more disk space, and so on. So it all depends on how much you can afford. And I'm going to go right here, click on Get plan. And then if you have a domain name that you've already bought from another website, you simply go with, I already have a domain and then you proceed from there. But let's just say, for example, you don't have a domain name. You want to get yourself a domain name. Well, you come in here right now and you type it out. So I'm just typing something ridiculous because I know no one in the world has this domain name right now. So I'm going to go ahead now click on Proceed. So Saigon will check to see if it's available. And of course it's available because no one in their right mind would buy such a domain name. So you simply fill out information right here, put out your email information. Now, very, very, very important. Let me show you something right here where you have the data center. Automatically, it will default to your physical location, but you want to make sure that it's actually accurate. Now it's sediment to Asia because I am actually in Asia right now. But depending on where you live, you have several options. You want to choose the datacenter that is closest to your physical location. So for example, if you were in India, the quizzes would be Singapore. Asia does the closest star to India, and so on. The reason why is because the closer you are to the datacenter, the more, the faster you'll be able to access your website. So simply choose the correct data center. And then of course you can go with 24 months, that a six month and so on. Right here. They do offer additional features like domain privacy and also the side-constraints. Can I in all honesty, you don't need them, okay, just just ignore those two and just buy your domain name and web hosting. And then you'll receive an email and then you can proceed from there. Of course, don't forget to check out my YouTube tutorial on how to access and use. All the features are Saigon offers you in the back end. Now with Cloud ways launched and I need to mention is our big cloud ways. You can have buy yourself a domain name. They only provide you with cloud hosting. Our speaking of cloud hosting, I nearly forgot with SiteGround. They do also offer you cloud hosting. Don't get me wrong. It's just that their own cloud hosting is a bit more expensive than that of cloud way. So if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, cloudless is your answer. And yes, they are actually quite good with their Cloud host and as well. So in Cloud ways, you're gonna go over to price in and you will see the different options that they have. Cloud-based themselves don't actually offer you the cloud service. They partner with other companies. So right here you have digital ocean lymph node vaulter, AWS, which is Amazon and then Google. And of course, Amazon and Google are the most expensive as you can see, I mean, with Google you can go as high as $225 per month, which is insane. Digital Ocean is by far the most popular. It's also what I use. So if you're gonna go with cloud hosting, our command Digital Ocean and innovator. You choose whichever one you can afford our document at the very least, go with the 22 dollars per month at the very least. And then you can click on Start free. They'll offer you three days free trial. But don't forget though, why here you have to fill out your name and all that. You have the link for God, a promo code when I click in there and then add your promo code cloud monk 25 to get unfavorite and represent off for the first three months. Don't forget to use my link inlet to take advantage of that promotion. And then I believe with Cloud wisdom, you'll have to verify your identity. So you may need to take a picture of your ID card. But as your line says to Java's line sensor, your passport, things like that, you send it to them and then within an hour or so they'll confirm your identity and then you get access to the host. And of course, like I said, don't forget to check out the YouTube tutorial where I walk you through how to use the Cloud ways back end. Now I know you said earlier that we can do is you cannot buy a domain name, the only offer you cloud hosting. So what's the alternative? You could buy your domain name fungicide ground, but a cheaper alternative would be named Sheep.com. Or you can buy domain names for really, really inexpensive of hormones in here. So as an example in here, again, I'm going to type in something ridiculous. Hdf is df.com. Let's go ahead now search for that one. So of course named tuple check and verify that it does. It's available. So let's wait. So, let's wait, let's weightless weights. Okay, So you can see right now it is a Ford. It is available and it's only a dollar per year. So I'm gonna go ahead now, add down to the cart and then proceed to checkout. I buy the domain name and get my e-mail and I am in. Now, the question you will have here obviously is you bought yourself a domain name from named cheap. You've gotten yourself cloud hosting from Cloud ways. How you connect both of them, right? Well, it's very, very easy in the YouTube tutorial, I show you how to do so, but Cloud ways also have an actual document of ITA. Explain to you the entire process. You have to create something known as an a record on your named Chip account. They show you all the steps in here. It's right there. It's very, very, very easy. I guarantee you it's not going to take more than five minutes. You simply do whatever you do, what they tell you to do right here. And then the rest is history, as they say, you will easily propagate your domain name from them, shipped over to Cloud ways. Of course, if you run into any issues, if you run into any difficulty, you can contact how the ways their support is also very, very good and I guarantee you that they will be able to help you out. So if you have anymore questions about SiteGround, Cloud ways are named ship, of course do let me know. I'll do my best to answer your questions as soon as possible. So hopefully I've been able to give you enough guidance on how to get started with web hosting, domain names, southbound, cloud wars and so on. Thanks a lot fortune. And of course, I'll see you in the next class. 4. Installing WordPress Quickly: I'm making this video to quickly show you how you can install what press on the website on both side, ground and Cloud ways. Now, of course I covered both in my YouTube tutorials, but I think there's a lot faster for you. Or you can watch you to, to, to ask for more information like backups, security, ssl certificates and so on. But let me show you how you can quickly get to set up and running on these two platforms. Now if you're with SiteGround, once you've logged in, you will see websites up here on your main menu. You click in there. And then right here, just click on new website. Up here, you click in there, choose your hosting plan. Let's continue. Now a writer, you have three options. You can go with the new domain where you'll have to buy a new domain name again and then proceed. Or you can go with your existing domain, click on select, and then choose your domain in that you bought from site ground. Or you can go with temporary domain where safeguard will create a temporary domain for you. It's free. You can see right now it's good at this one for me. I'm going to click on Continue. And by the way, the process from this point on is the same for either the temporary domain or the existing domain options. Right here you're going to click on Start a New York City. Click on select right here to install an application and right-click and go with what quiz? Or if you're taking a WooCommerce course, you can go with what? Woocommerce as well. But our community, those COBIT WordPress right here, you click on Select, and then you just set up your login details, you enter your images right here, your password. Click on Continue. And I should have entered an actual email address in here. My apologies or kilometers quickly fill that out. K. Click on Continue. And you don't need to add the sides, can I? You don't need them and just click on Finish. And there you go. So right now said God will create the site for you. Let's move on to Cloud was on. Let me show you how you can add your website. From here, from servers you want to go over to applications on your main menu up here. Okay, So from here you click on Add Application, the green button. Okay? And then from here you're going to choose your server that you have with them. You click on Add Application. And then from here what you're gonna do is you select the application. You want to go with WordPress version 5.6. It may be an updated version dependent on when you're watching this video, but currently it's 5.6. So 5.6 now you can name your website, so I'm just going to call my own test website just as an example. Test web site project. Just leave that as it is and then click on Add Application. And there you go. So psycho, I'm sorry, Cloud who is right now, is installing WordPress on the website. And so you can see right there, it'll take approximately two minutes. Are Saigon has already finished. So for me right now you can go to the Access WordPress admin. You click on the button right here, and it'll take you straight to the backend. So you might, you might see this one and telling you that, hey, this site is not secure. That's because you've not yet installed an SSL certificate, but it's fine. You can go ahead and proceed to the website. Okay. So you can you can ignore the LL1 in and there you go. So with segment specifically, they do have the STL wizard. You can just click on exits to exit the wizard and take you straight to the back end. And there you go. So from, from here right now you have what was installed on your website. You can then proceed with the course, are with Cloud ways. Let's see. Okay, it's gonna take about a minute and I'm just wait for this one to finish. Now once again, my YouTube tutorials on both side, ground and Cloud ways. We'll cover everything, everything they need to know from Kuwait. An e-mail accounts are insulin, SSL certificates taking backups are, and so on and so forth. Then go ahead and close this too. And there you go. So fortunately, cloud, which has finished installing WordPress, so you're going to go back to your applications. And then right here you should see the name of your website. Right here you click on Test Website right there. Just click on the link. And then from here you will see now the application URL right here. You will have the button to launch your website. And there you go. So for me right now you can see Claudius has a soul bought quiz on this temporary domain. You can now simply from here, go ahead and access the backend WP dash admin. And there you go, you simply login, provide your username and your password, and you're good to go. So hopefully, this video has shown you how you can get Wordpress installed on the website with both sat down and cloud is you have any questions? Of course do let me know. I'm more than happy to answer them. Thanks for watching. I'll see you in the next class. 5. Installing WordPress Locally with Local: All right, it let me show you how you can install WordPress locally on your computer using local by flywheel. So you can go to local WP.com and it's free for the most part. So what you wanna do is you simply click on the download button up here. And then you can choose your platform whether you're working with a Mac, Windows, Linux, and so on. And walking with windows, I'm going to choose Windows. And then they can simply go ahead and provide my firstName, lastName, walk email, and then phone number and then get it now. So I've already done this before, so I don't need to do so again, just simply go ahead and provide a first-name, all these details. Then click on Get it now. And then you will get your download link to download local on your computer. And it says a consumer, it now I have already downloaded the local application. It's about 416 megabytes for the Windows PC. So I'm gonna go ahead now and install it by double-clicking on the file itself. And it may take a while for you to see this particular window popup. Just be patient, but it will pop up eventually. So right now you can install flywheel for anyone or just to you on a computer. I'm going to go with our only for me, so I'll click on Next, click on Install. And there you go. It's very, very, very straightforward. Let's just wait for a few more seconds for this to finish. It's a little bit larger. It's going to be about 1.5 gig once you've finished installing the application. And it will only get bigger and bigger with the more our local websites that you create on your computer. Because keep in mind that you will be storing all the files, the themes, the plugins, everything that make up your websites will be stored locally on your computer, so make sure that you have enough space in your hard drive. Okay. So this is taken a little bit longer than I expected. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to pause the video and it seems to be picking up right now. Okay. Okay. So I knew it's usually doesn't usually take that long to install, But for some reason maybe because it knows I'm recording, it decides to take it bit more time. I don't know what I'm going to go ahead now and simply click on Finish and we can run our local as well. And I'm going to show you how you can now begin to create websites using local on your computer. So right now, I'm just come down here, you will see the local symbol right here, that's for local down there. So this is basically the main interface. And now we can create a new site by clicking on the green button right here. Let's go ahead create a new site. Allergists call this one. Blog are just as an example. Okay, This is going to be the name of our website. You do have the advanced options right here, but you can choose that local site domain, the local site path, and then whether you want to quit aside from blueprint, you don't need any of this other command, you just ignore them. Just go ahead and click on Continue. And anyway it here you have the preferred options or you have custom. This is where you can indicate the kind of database software you want to use and so on. Again, if you click on costume. Or you can choose your PHP version, your web server, your database. Unless you know what you're doing, I would recommend you simply go with the preferred option. Click on Continue. And now you can provide your username. I'm going to provide my Islam as Alex. And then the password, I'm going to provide a strong password all the same. And our WordPress email, I'll just go ahead and add my official e-mail vide here. One kilogram book com. And of course you also have advanced options where you can indicate if this is a sub-directory or a sub-domain. Where do they live? That's all those click on. No. Let's go ahead now and simply add our site. And right now, local is 18. The website locally on our computer. It's not going to take that long. So let's see. I'd say studying up the side services. And so you might get in all warning signs like this in Hey, you know, this program is trying to access your process or things like that. Just say yes. Okay. Make sure you Gwen permission. If you have a firewall that's also active on your computer, on your Mac or your PC. The firewall might also say, Hey, you know, this particular application is trying to access to files and make changes. It's safe, Don't worry, just go ahead and grant access to the application. So you can see right now it is downloading WordPress. It's now add in WordPress. So I'm gonna pause the video right now and simply resume on what person has installed and consumer hit now. Just as I said, I was going to pause the video. It quickly went went ahead to finish installing. So there you go. We have WordPress installed successfully on our blog or website. And then right here where you have your overview or you can make certain changes. So right now you have the same domain in here, blog of the local. You have the SSL, auto committed, go ahead and click on trust. So that's your browser, will trust your local upset too long. It's DPS. It may not always work, but in all honesty, it's not going to matter for the most part because you're still working with files locally on your PC. Alright? You don't need to change anything, any HIV or web server PHP version, the one-click admin, it's kinda disabled or recommend that you enable it. Let me show you what it does. So right now, right here, if I go to the Admin button right here, I want to access the backend of my site. You can see right now I have to provide a username and a password. But let me go back to fly. If I go ahead now and enable this for myself, who's the admin? And I say Alex, if I go ahead now and click on admin automatically right now, you will see that I have now been logged in. So this will depend on whether or not you're the only person who uses your computer, even if there are other people who are competent and you trust them. This is perfectly fine. You don't need to provide your username and your password because you're still working with files locally on your computer. So I'll highly recommend you go ahead and activate the one-click. Adamant is just, it just makes things so much more convenient in easier for you, okay? Right here you have your database, okay? And you've ever need to access the database for your website, you simply click on the Open. Add me now. Okay, I've clicked in there and right there you can see I have access to the actual database for my website. So if you ever need to access your database, this is how you would do so with local. And then you have utilities as well, which yeah, we don't need to walk with these. You also have tools where you can buy things like live links instantly load link check Athens like that. You also have the image Optimizer option that will allow you to optimize images are with local. But in all honesty, there are plugins that you can also use from what epistemically that can help you with this. Okay, Just a few more things to mention with you are the Connect button right here. This walk. Specifically if you're hosting our width WP Engine, you can easily transfer your files to WP Engine. You simply login with your oldest and then follow the prompts is very, very, very convenient. Unfortunately, it's only, there will be ending right now and that flow will, is partnered with hopefully in those future that will partner up with other very popular web hosting providers like an Cloud host and Alonso Cloud ways and siteground and so on. And then right here you have the add-ons again. You don't really need to walk with any of these. And then right here you have the GitHub button, and so on. Down here, of course you have the plus button to add a new site. If you want to optimize your account, you're going up good Two Pro or login to the hub if you want to. And then of course you have your menu buttons right here. You can add a new side. You can import a site as well. And you can also check for updates. Okay, let's go back to the blogger site and I wanna show you something very, very, very important. If you need to access the files that make up your website. I'm not talking about the database now. I'm talking about the actual files themselves. Right here underneath the name of your site, you will see this link, this arrow. You simply click in there. And this will take you to the folder containing local and all your files for your websites. And then from here you want to go to the app, open up public. And now right here you have access to the core files making up your WordPress websites. If you go to WP content, for example, right here, you will have access to your plugins, your themes folder, and so on. So if any, to access the files off your website locally, this is how you would do so. All right. If you more things, you can choose to stop at the website if you want to go on a break and resume later, is simply click on stop site right here. Now let me show you one not a very, very cool feature or with local writer, you can actually enable a live link for your site that will allow people to access it on the Internet. So right here where you have the live link, you can go ahead and I'll click on Enable. Okay? So what this does is that it's going to create a live link for your sign. I'm going to go ahead and click on Copy. And then I'm going to go back to my browser icon right here. And I'm going to paste and go. And right now you can see, I can now access my blog or website via the Internet. So if you ever need to access your site via the Internet, you can do so by creating a live link. But of course, keep in mind that you will need internet access in order to do so. Okay, I'm gonna go ahead now and stop everything. And if you want to delete your website or you've created, you simply re click right here on the name of your website. And then right here, you will have the Delete button. You can rename the button. So you can rename the side as well. You can clone the side, you can start the science, can open up the folder for your site as well, and so on and so forth. So that's pretty much how to install WordPress locally on your computer using local. Thank you for watching, and of course I will see you in the next class. 6. Building a Membership Website Section Preview: Well, hello there and welcome officially to this section where we're going to build ourselves a membership website. And that website is called Biz Academy. Now this Academy is basically a blog that offers very extensive articles and content on creating and growing a business. So the idea here is that we're going to have content that will be available for everyone. It doesn't matter if a member or you're logged in or logged out. We'll have content available to everyone. But then we're also going to have content that will be exclusive to paid members. So to build this website, we're going to use three main plugins, one of which is optional. But the major driving plug-in here is going to be the paid memberships pro plug-in. If there is a free version of the plugin, but then there are also paid add-ons that you can pay for that will further enhance the functionality of your membership site. Now, don't worry, throughout this course, you don't have to pay for anything. We're gonna build this site without having to pay for any additional add-ons or anything like that. So evidence is going to be for free. So we are going to be using the paid memberships, plug-in pay dummy ships per plug into Kuwait. To membership levels. We're going to have the standard membership level that will offer access to certain kinds of content. And then we'll have the gold membership that will offer access to all our content. So just to give you an idea of the sites, you know, you're going to have a logo, your main menu, the main banner. They'll have access to free articles and then you'll have access to the premium content as well. I'll show you how you can restrict content so that it's only available for the users who have actually paid for access to that particular article. So here's a preview of the homepage. Looks pretty good, right? So when it comes to the zine in the site and actually build a, building a website. We're gonna make use of Elemental, which in my humble opinion is the very best Page Builder plugin for WordPress. There is a paid version, but again, don't worry, we're going to walk with the free version. We will install two additional add-ons that are free that will help us build our upset with elemental. So I wanted to use the Gutenberg page buildup plugin, which is native with WordPress. But in all honesty, it is still a bit of a pain to work with Gutenberg at this point. So I just figured, hey, let's use elemental. If you've never used elements of before, don't worry, we actually do have a crash course in this course where you will learn how to use our elemental quickly. And of course, as we build out the side, I'll be showing you all the tricks and tips that you can use with elemental. And I guarantee you that by the end of this course, you will have learned how to use element and so don't you worry about that. Now the third major plugin is going to be Wu commas, but this one is going to be optional because with the pilgrims ships poor plug-in and with elemental, we're gonna build ourselves a fully functional website. But the advantage with Woo Commerce is that with Woo Commerce, you can offer additional payment gateways. You can sell your memberships as products and integrating with newcomers gives you additional benefits. But we those additional benefits com, additional issues that you might have to resolve. So we'll get to the point where you will now have to decide whether or not you want to integrate Woo Commerce or you don't want to use Woo Commerce at all regardless of the option that you choose. I have everything covered for you, so don't you worry about that. So that's basically it. Oh, one more thing I should mention is that I'm also gonna show you how you can set up your navigational menu so that it changes. Depending on whether or not a user is logged in or logged out users, they will have a very special menu where they can't login, where they can access the free content. And then for users who are logged in, they will see logout. You'll have access to the content that they've logged in for things like that. So by the end of this, by the end of this course, I can guarantee you that you would have learned how to build yourself a fully functional membership website that you'd be charging recurring payments, offering content, things like that. So it's gonna be great and we're really excited to show you how we can build this. So without waste any more time, let's get started. 7. Importing the Demo Content: All right, so the very first thing we're gonna do is we're going to import some content that I've already created on another website. And this content will have posts, posts, categories as well as featured images. So what I want you to do is to go over to the backend of your website, come down here to tools and then go to Import. Alright? And then you'll have to install this plugin right here down here called WordPress. Just click on install now and let's wait for a few seconds for the installations and finish. Alright, so up here you're going to launch the importer. You can also when a downhill as well. Let's run the importer and now from here you'll have to upload the Baeza Academy dot xml file that I provided for you. So I'm gonna go ahead Now click on Choose File. And I will just look at the file right here because Academy dot XML, we're gonna go ahead now and click on open and click on upload file and import. And now you can simply assign all the content to you, to your username. And of course, also check the box that says Download and import file attachments. And I'm gonna click on submit, and there you go. So let's just wait for a few seconds for the imports or the importation or however you want to call it to finish. And there you go. So that then is you might see sits an arrows like this. Whereas something may not, may not have imported. It's, it happens all the time, so don't worry about it. However, what I wanted to check is you go over to your posts and you should see 15 posts, alright, actually, well, mine says 16, but that's because this is a freshwater present installation. I did and I do have the defaults what Chris persuaded. So you should see if you have ten different posts, the categories you will have taxes. You'll have advertising, finance, general content marketing and sales. And also if you go to your media library as well. Hopefully you will see these images. These images are men for the post. So as an example, let's head on over to the front end. And you can see, for example, right now that each posts actually has it's own our featured image. That's the 14, ten tax mistakes to avoid. You'd have the 14x sense of invests, ten, you have financial strategies and so on. So just go through it and make sure that you have all of these. Now, if for some reason the images did not import because it does happen quite a lot with WordPress. I will also provide you with a Dropbox link where you can find all these images and download and make use of them. If you wanted. The only thing you'll have to do right now is you'll have to go to each post individually and said the images as they're featured image for each of those posts. So that's how to import the XML file. Thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 8. Installing the Paid Member Pro and Addons: So now let's move on to install in the main plugin. And we're gonna be working with, which is the paid memberships pull plug-in, as well as to add ons which are the walls for membership levels as well as the email templates, admin editor. So I'm over here in the back end and I'm going to install the paid memberships. Poor plug-in flourished. So let's install without one. And the next would be to simply activates the plug-in. And there you go. Alright, so I'm gonna go back again to the Plugins page. And I'm just gonna type in paid members. And ok, so down here, I'm going to install the email templates ad on the one right here. Let's install now. And of course I'm going to go ahead now and activates the plug-in as well. Now, I don't know if you can find, let's see, let's actually try searching for roles, for membership levels. And the Plugins page Atlanta actually tried this. I'm going to come in here, paste search. And let's see if we can find the plugin. And it says, I can see right now, you may have a difficulty of finding this other add-on directly from deployments backend. I'll what you can do is to go to memberships and then go to add ons right here. And you will see over here a list of all the available are add-ons that you can actually have with the paid membership poor plugin. So what we're looking for is the one down here. Alright? So there's one over here. Dependent mashups pool will add on. I'm gonna go ahead and I'll click on install now. And we're going to activate the plugin. And there you go. Alright, so ideally are disappointed right now you should have these three plugins depend memberships, poor plug-in, paid memberships, pro, email templates add on, and then the moles add on these other three, you should have SG optimizer. This was from sad going my hosting company. So if you don't have this, you can know, you can ignore that. Don't worry about it. Oh, and of course the water is important. Remember we imported content previously, so you should have this plug-in installed as well. I'm gonna go ahead and simply deactivates are the last one. We no longer need that plug-in. And there you go, right? So Gemini VII, next video where I will now show you the general settings for the paid membership is poor plugin. 9. Paid Member Pro General Settings: Welcome back. So now that we've installed the memberships plug-in, you will see the link right here. Let's click on Set tends to get started and you're gonna sit as a message telling you that you need to create a membership level. We will do this in the very next tutorial. But what I want you to do first of all is to click on pages right here. You click in there, and then click on genetic pages for me. So what the plugin is gonna do is it's gonna create aide, several different cancelled pages for membership account page, billing page are cancelled Membership page and so on. So if you go over to your pages right now, you should see all of this log in, membership cancel and so on and so forth. So we are going to be walking with a lot of these pages as we progress. But let's go back to memberships and then sets ends. Alright, so next year we will be the payment gateway and SSL. Now, what we're gonna do first of all is we are going to choose our tribe, our plumbing gateway. And I'm using stress specifically because it is, in my humble opinion, it would be more reliable than testing with PayPal. Later on, I will show you how you can set up the test environment for both stripe and PayPal saw. Don't worry, I will cover these later, but for now, I'm going to just choose stripe here. And I'm gonna come down here and simply save my settings. All right? And now email right here, we can configure the from email as well as the from name. So I'm going to use my own email address right here. And then the from name will be simply B's academy. Ok. And I'm going to go ahead now and simply save all my sets ends. And then right here you do have the option of email deliverability. We will talk about this later because sometimes when you send emails with the membership plug-in, it might actually not get delivered. Don't worry, we will cover that later. Alright, next we have advanced. Now in here, I would highly recommend that you block all users with the subscriber role from accessing the dashboard. And you can also hide the toolbar families, those with the subscript a robot, to be honest, we're not actually going to be working with the subscriber goal in this particular course, will talk about this later. But for now it's okay. You can just take this two boxes. So right here, you've got your message settings which would be shown dependent on his tuition. So if a, for example, a logged in on non-member wants to view sensing kind of content. It will say this content is for the certain kinds of levels or memberships, and their numbers are only allowed to access a particular content. Join now. And then you also have a message for the logged out users. So if a user wants to access content meant for a logged in user, this will be the message shall be displayed. And then you also have for the RSS feed as well. So you can customize these kinds of messages if you want to. And then right here, you do have the short excerpts to non-members. I would recommend that you do show the excerpts and I think it's a great way to actually market or promote your premium content. If non-paid members able to simulate the first paragraph, they might get an idea that, oh, you know, this content is awesome. Ebay should pay for it. So you might want to give it a teaser basically of what your premium content is all about. So I would recommend that you do show The accepts. And that's pretty much it for the advanced settings. I'm going to go ahead now, saved my sets ends. And there you go. So we've gotten levels, this will be available quit membership levels will talk about that later. Now your discount codes as well, these would walk with him and Bishop level, so we will talk about that one as well laid out. And then you have your Members tab. Now as you begin to get new members to your membership website, you'll begin to see all their stats in here, that user name, first name, last name, and so on. And then of course the orders. Now you may see a test order generated by the plugin. You'll say something like, you know, 09 something and then the level you'll see deleted. Or if you don't see this, don't worry. If you do see there's just a plugin making a test. It says order, so it's nothing for you to worry about. Alright, so that's it for the general. Set an agenda for the next video. Bell will now quick eight membership levels. I will see you then. 10. Creating our Membership Levels: Oh, right at the time has come for us to create our membership levels. And to do this, you can either click on the Create membership level link right here under initial setup, or you can just go to settings and innovate here you will have this message telling you to create a membership level. So I'm gonna go ahead now and create one. And for the purposes of this course, we're going to walk with two membership levels. Ok, so in addition to the free membership level where users can, but I was some content for free. We're going to have to premium paid membership levels. So the first one here is going to be the standard membership level, right? So we can call this standard membership basically. Alright? And for the description, I can say this membership will provide access to all free content as well as articles on markets in and we can call this one and taxes. So you have on the market in, in taxes in addition to all the free content. That's what members we, the standard membership will have access to. So right here, you do have the confirmation message. This would be the message sent once a user has bought the standard membership. So I can just say This is to confirm. This is to confirm that you have in lobe in the stand add membership plan. And there you go. Alright? And of course I'm going to tick the box right here to include this message in the confirmation email. So right here, this is now the price. And so how much would you charge initially, like for the very first months? So in this case, we're gonna go with 999. Alright? And then of course, this is a membership websites, so it's going to be a Recalling subscription. So I'm going to tick the box for recurring subscription. And then I will say again, 999 every month now, right? So like yea, you have all the flexibility that you need. You can decide to either charge may be a $1 for the first month, like a trial period. And then after the first Monday begin charging $9.09 or wherever how much you want to charge. You can also say, OK, we'll charge $9 every say, three months. You can make it a yearly subscription, so you can charge maybe $99 per year stuff that you have all the flexibility in here. Now, you do have the billing cycle limit and it says the total number of recurring billing cycles for this level. If this is going to be an unlimited kind of membership plan, then you don't need to include anything inhale. If you want to grant membership for maybe one year maximum, then of course, in here you would simply say r 12. Because, you know, 12 months is mimics of a year and you're charging Mandela's $0.90 every month. So you can come in and put in 12 if you want to make this like a yearly membership are kind of plan. But since ours is just going to be until the user decides to cancel membership, by not going to have any limits to the billing cycle. And of course, you can also add a custom trial so you can take the books. White Haven then say, all right, I'm going to bill, let's say $1 for the first month. But for the first subsection payment will judge a $1 and then after that $1, you statute and $9.99, you do have the option of adding a custom child period if you want to. Alright, well does that tends desirable new signups. So this happens if maybe you want to have like a fixed amounts of members in a particular membership level, maybe you don't want that number to go beyond a certain amount. Once you've gotten that number of users, you can come in here right now, check the box to disable new sign-ups. You can also choose to have a membership exploration, so you would say, OK, after two years, for example, your membership will expire. You do have the option of doing that if you want to remove that. And let's put this one back to days and keep it as this. Alright? So right here, this is where you can now restrict or choose the categories of content that you want these members with its membership to have access to. However, see, when I was playing around with the plug-in alea, you know, trying to work things out. I discovered that this is not the best way to actually was treated content. The reason being that, for example, if I was to come in and say, OK, markets in will be made available to uses aisle with the standard membership level in addition to the general content as well. What will happen here is that even you as the admin, you will not see the marketing content on the front end of your website. And remember that we also want non pin users to have a little bit of an access to maybe like the first paragraph, things like that. We want them to bool. We want them to be able to see the exhibits of all our content. If you restrict content this way, non-users will not see anything there will not even know that there is a whole section of articles on the markets in. So this is not the best way to distribute content, in my opinion. I'll show you a better way how you can have she contents. So for now, we'll just keep this all on checked. I'm going to save the level. You go. All right, I'm gonna go ahead now and quickly add the next level, which would be PD gold membership. And then I will say this membership grants access to all our premium content. Okay. And confirmation message, again, this is to confirm that you are enrolled in the gold membership plan. Okay? Check this one as well. And then this one would be, let's go with 1999 is going to be weaker in and then Bill and amount is going to be 1999 every month. And again, I'll just leave everything as it is. I'm gonna go ahead and now save my level. And there you go. So now we have basically AS three membership levels. We have the free membership level where users don't have to pay anything. They will have access to certain kinds of content. And then we have the standard that will give access to marketing and then articles on the taxes. And then we have the Gold notion that will give access to all the premium content so that you go, that's how to create age your membership level. Thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 11. Creating our Mailing Templates: Before we begin to a street content-based on membership levels, I want us to take a look at the email templates that we're going to be sending out to our users depending on what happens. Now remember we already installed these add-on, the one for the email templates. So to access this, I'm gonna go over to memberships and then down here, email templates, alright? So in here you have a wide variety of templates, templates to choose from. For instance, first though would be the email header. This will be at the top of your email and it says day. And then you have this tag, which would represent the name of the user. And of course down here, you can see all the available variables as the plug-in calls them. So you have naming here. They'll display the user's name. You have user login, node is split user name and so on. You have everything down here. And you can use all these variables to customize your message. However, the header here is pretty descent, It says there And then the presence them. I think this is perfectly fine, so we don't need to change this one. We have the email and it says respectfully, and then the person. I'm also the demo website, which is of course, B's Academy. Again, this is fine. I'm not going to change anything in here. Okay. I might change respectfully to let's say cheers. I think respectfully is a bit too formal. I don't know about you, but I think that's a little bit too formal for my tests, so I'll go with chairs instead. Let's save the template. And now, quite possibly the most important email, It's going to be the one down here where you have the checkout paid. This is the email to all be sands. Once a user has checked out and if paid for one of your membership levels. So this is very, very important because you want to welcome them. You want to get them excited for joining your membership website. This is your chance to create like a first impression, ok, so you really want to spend some good time in here customizing your message. Again, you have all these variables to really customize your message. The default is into bug. Either. It says Thank you, thank you for your membership to bes academy. However, lemmas changes 12 to this. Let me just say, thank you so much. Thank you so much for your membership to and then the site name, your membership account is now active. Okay. Below other details about your membership account and it is soup for your initial membership invoice. This looks fine. Everything in here looks pretty decent. I'm not going to change anything in here. And there you go. I'll just come down here at the bottom under, say, welcome once again. And there you go. Alright, so I'm going to go ahead now and save the templates. And by the way, you can also send a test email to your images right here. So you can simply click on Save template and then send email if you want to. And I'm going to do that. And it says Test E-mail sense successfully. So I will check in just a moment whether or not I received the email. However, you may also want to customize messages or emails for other situations like the membership expired, critical expiring membership experiment. I think ownership experiment is also very, very important. You want to try and get them to a new membership. So right here you have the default and again, you can customize it. So please do spend some time trying to customize this messages if you're going with a trial period and of course you have the trial ended as well. So you have access to all these different kinds of templates that you can modify depending on the c2 ways. And I'm just gonna go ahead and save my templates. And I'm going to open up my email to see if our received the test email. And there it is, you see consumer. And now this is the test stimuli gold membership confirmation for my watercress. Oof, Okay. We're gonna have to change this from B's academy ok, to me. And then here is the message right here. Dea beers membership level is gold membership price, mayorship is 1999 and so on. So the plugin just automatically enrolled me in the gold membership plan as a test. And you can see the email right here. Okay, I'm gonna change this WordPress. And to do this, of course you want to come down here to set sends General. And then right here at your site title, which is for me is going to be B's Academy. And then the tagline, effective tips for long-chain. For long, How do you spell luncheon? Have a lunch and a successful business. Okay. Okay. Alright, so I'm gonna go ahead and save my changes. And of course, don't forget that under memberships settings. And then right here where you have email, you can configure that the from email and then the from name VEVO important. But that's how to customize your email templates. Thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 12. How to Restrict Content: Her k, It is now time for us to begin to restrict content based on the membership level of our users. Now, let me show you how it looks like currently. So this is the website to a logged out user and nothing has been restricted, right? Anybody can come in here right now. The see all the articles. They can click on a title right here to read the full article and so on. But how do we now begin to enforce some restrictions? Well, we're gonna go back to my website and let's take a look at the very first one, Y K, ten to hacks mistakes to avoid its under the category of taxes, right? If I came in here. And notice that right here, you do have the requirement of a ship section asking whether a naught, a user needs to have a certain kind of member should be full. They can access this document. Now you've I came in here and I said, oh, IID, standard membership and write update. Well this means right now is, is that they use on most have the standard membership in order to access this particular document. Now, check this out. If I go back to the buzzer right here and I refresh the page, notice that it is gone. It is no longer on the front page, right? In fact, it's hidden completely from any user who is logged out. But in addition to that, if I go back in here and I go to the website notes is that I am logged in as an admin and even I cannot see the article. It is hidden from me as well. So it's only if your user is logged in and has the standard militia plan. That's the only user dial will be able to see this article. So you see why it's not the best to actually restrict content of this way. Let me go back in here. So you don't wanna do it this way. I mean, it's, I guess it's all subjective. If you prefer this situation where articles are completely hidden, then fine. You can do this where, by the way. And you can also take the books Friday for Goldman. But she'd meaning that if a user has standard all gold membership, that's when they'll be able to access this document. That's how this works. But I'm not gonna do this way. I'm going to remove this two. Ok? And what I'm gonna do is to restrict this content with a short code. Now over here on a document documentation for the plugin, you do have the article, The should content with a short code and innovate here. You do have the membership shut good attributes. You can walk with Level, delay and ensure no access. Here are the examples. Alright, so you can stay that okay, membership level equals one, show no access equals true, meaning that this will shop for level one users, while other users will not be able to access the document. So how would we actually use this? So I'm gonna go ahead. And what I'm gonna do is I'm going to grab this. Okay? I'm gonna come back in here. And now let us decide at what point we want to begin to restrict the article ICT. So. Let's say for example, let, let the users have access to the 4s2 paragraph, paragraph. So right. But then starting from the third paragraph, I'll, what I'm gonna do is I'm going to press Enter right here, and I'm going to paste that short code. Okay? Now what I will also do is I am going to change this particular block to our custom HTML, right? That's to remove any sort of formatting. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to remove this message. Okay? I'm going to remove that. And what I'm gonna do is I'm going to cut the end, the closing membership tag, and I'm going to cut that out. And then I'm gonna come down here at the end. Okay, and now I'm going to paste the closing. Alright, so this is exactly what you want to have. Let me try and see if I can actually remove this. Let me call that outlet that we move the block. Okay. You don't know have any pre-formatted. This is okay. Lemme just pays it this way and see, and see what happens. Okay, hopefully, the page will not display in order, white background, things like that. So let's see how this would work. So I'm gonna go ahead and now updates. And if I go back here, if I refresh this page, notice that we now have ten text mistakes to avoid. Okay? Now if I click inside to view the article, okay, we come down here, remember that? Ok, so we allowed users to see the first two paragraphs, although it's only showing the first paragraph and wonder why that is. Let me go back in here and confirm. Let me scroll back up. Oh, okay. So it's actually only the first paragraph. Okay. Okay. My mistake. It's actually only the first paragraph that we're showing. So if I go back again here, notice now that the first paragraph is shown. But then it now states that, okay, the rest of the content is basically for standard membership, members only. So you can either login or join now. So this will only show for standard membership plans. However, if we wanted to include the gold membership, will come in here and then say, okay, Level one comma and then level two. Okay, I'm gonna go ahead now and update. And now, if we go back in here and we refresh the page, notice it now sees this content. This was tenement mid ship and gold membership members only. Now you might be wondering why I'm doing 12. How do we know that the ID for this membership level is one and L one is two. Well, if we go back to memberships and we go back to the Dashboard, let's go about two members sets ins. Ok, I'm sorry to say he's under settings actually. So right here, notice that you now have ID one next to steady membership and then ID two next to gold membership. So this is how, this is where you will get the IDs for the memberships. So once again, if I go back to the post right now and I edit the post. So here you can see right now it says membership level equals one comma two, meaning that the rest of the contents should only show for members who have either level one or level two and show no axis equals true. So basically do not show the rest of this contact to any user who doesn't have access. And then note that down here. Down here we have the closing membership tag. So that's basically how you will do strict content, uh, based on a user's membership level. And by the way, remember, don't forget that this message right here that sees this content is for steady membership angled membership members only. You can modify that message right here. If we go to memberships, let's go to sets ins. Let's go to advanced. Alright, so right here, this is where you can modify that kind of message shall be displayed. So you can say something like, You know, my apologies, but you need to have this level of membership. You need to have that level of imagery before you can access this content. So this is where basically you will be able to modify. The message is shown on the Fontan whenever a non member tries to access a membership only content. So that's how to history contents using the shortcodes. Again, you can come in here right now and view the other ways how you can shoot content. You do have this interest in negative one. You have 01. So this will say show for everyone not in level one, including non-members and visitor. So that's how this would work. And then you also have the delay tag, which we didn't work with. But when you add delay, well, this simply means is that's the number you add in here. The content will not double shop after a certain period of time. So it just gives me an aphid seven it's going to be seven days from the start date for that member. Member. So that's how the delay tag would work. So that you go there, you have it. That's how to shoot content with shortcodes. Thank you for watching and we'll see in the next class. 13. Testing Membership Payments: Now it is time for us to loan a tests. The idea here is that we want to see whether or not if a user actually pays for the standard membership plan on whether or not they'll be able to access the rest of the top ten tax mistakes to avoid obstacle. So what I've done here is I've already set up the payment gateway for my website of its stripe. You can see as the sandbox system environment, I have my a publishable key and secret key, as well as my web hook all enabled. So let's do this. Okay, I'm gonna go back to my Firefox browser and Let's assume My name is James in Olaf come onto this side and like to pay for the sternum memberships. I'm gonna come in here, click on join it. Now, let's choose the standard membership. And so I'm gonna come in here right now. I'm going to call my saw James. I'm gonna provide my very, very strong password. Type that out again. Alright, emal address, I'm going to use my Gmail address and K. And we're also going to use this opportunity to test the email template, obese and remote if you lessons alea, we configured the email template for when a new user has been added to our sites. And we'll see if that works. Now for the testing environment for stripe, basically you can use the credit card number 44 to 1600161600004040 to 44 to 44 tube. So basically for two, eight times musically. So this is the test in number, the credit card number for tests and music, little stripe, and then any valid expiration date. So I'll say September 2023 and then of course, 345347, whatever. As long as it's three fingers, you're fine. So let's see. I'm going to click on Submit and checkout. And let's just see what happens, right? So it's processing. Processing. And okay, so there you go. Membership confirmation, light, it's now active. Okay. Okay. Okay. Now, let's go back to the homepage and let's see if we can access the rest of your document. And then you go nodes. Is that James? We've actually been logged in right now. You can still appeared, James, we are log n. So right now we can actually view the rest of the document because we have paid for the standard membership plan. Now we have access to the article. Now, I've also open up my Gmail account, and as you can see right now, we've got the email from B's Academy saying, ok, dear James, Let me just say thank you so much for a membership to bes Academy. So you can see right now that the template we edited alea is actually in effect and everything seems to be walking are properly as it should. Now, lemmas say that if you did not get the email, I'm talking about you as the user. If you didn't get the email, then it's possible you might have some melon issues. In the next video, I'm gonna show you how you can install a plugin, which is the WP mill SMTP plugin. That will help to guarantee that emails will be delivered both to you as the admin or know the membership site and then to users who enroll in your membership site. But as of, as it is right now, everything seems to be walking properly as it should. There's a few things we're going to have to clean up like the Main Menu, obviously, since James is logged in, he shouldn't be seen the login menu item anymore. And of course, we're also going to hide the admin toolbox from James as well. So that's a demolition works perfectly German IV annex video where I will now show you how to fix any e-mail issues that you might have. 14. How to Fix Email Issues: Welcome back. So if you're having issues with the email deliverability and let me show you what I did to fix the issue because I too had the exact same issue and it is a very common issue whenever you're walking in with plugins that have to send emails either to you as the admin or to new users who enroll in your website. So what you wanna do is you want to install this plugin called WP male SMTP by WP forms. It is a fantastic, fantastic plug-in. And once you've installed a plugin, you'll see the link right here, WP, email, SMTP, go over to settings. And what you're gonna do, first of all is to verify the from email mixture you to e-mail address. You can force different email, add the from name as well. You can also foster one as well if you want to. And then invite here. This is where you can now config ALL this plug-in to walk with your current Malin option. So if you're working with Google member, you're sending emails via Google, maybe via Microsoft or male gone or sand grid, you would click on the respective functional right here and then fill in the necessary information. But if you're currently hosting your emails with a web host like I do, I host my emails with US side ground. You're gonna click on all the SMTP and you're gonna contact your mailing host, contact them and let them give you this information. I guess you're going to need the SMTP host name. Mk is this, is it psych round? And then also ask them the level of encryption. In my case, I use SSL, although the plug-in of increments TLS, which is a bit stronger, but to be on the safe side, I use SSL and then the SMTP ports is 465. Your hosting provider might be using a different port number, so please contact them and act stem. And of course, authentication usually should be turned on. I don't know about auto TLS depends on your mailing provider. And then of course you're gonna provide Your SMTP username, annual SMTP password. Again, always information you can get from your mail-in host. And it also doesn't matter if you're hosting with Milgrom. Send grid, any of these guys you use will have to get pretty much the same kind of similar inflammation. So contact these people, let them send you all the information you need. Fill this out safe. And then once you've saved op here, you have the email test. I would highly recommend that you come in here, add your email address, and then send the email and see hopefully that you receive the email. So that's how to fix any issues that you might have with the WP mill SMTP plug-in. Thank you for watching. I'll see you in the next class. 15. Hiding the Admin Bar from Members: Alright, so to hide the admin bar from the members, it's pretty straightforward. Only need to do is to download and install the hide admin bar from non admins added on by the same developer is. And you can also get this from the WordPress repository. And I know here there is this one in that the plugin hasn't been tested with the latest two image of visions of what prayers. And in fact, the last update was over a year ago. However, in this case I'll make an exception. I typically don't like installing plugins that are outdated, that haven't been updated in the past, say six or seven months. But like I said in this case, I'll make an exception because the actual functionality of hiding the admin bar from known admins is very, very, very simple. It's actually just a simple line of code that you can actually add to your functions with PHP file. But since this is an advanced class, I will just make use of the plug-in, so it's perfectly fine that the plugin hasn't been updated in over a year, do not lie. So you can see right now I have installed the plugin. I'm gonna go ahead and activate. But before I activate the plugin, let's take a look at the website one more time. So right here you can see hobbes Academy and then James is logged in. James has access to the Toolbox. So let's go back now and let's activate the plugin. Okay? And that's all you need to do. There are no citizens involved. That's all you need to do. If I go back to the website right now and I refresh the page, now you can see the toolbar is no longer accessible by James will, any other member who logs into the website. So that's pretty much how you would hide the admin bar from your log the members by making use of the hide admin buf from non admins plugin by the same developer as strange as students. Thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 16. Constructing our Main Menu: Welcome back. So we're getting to the point where we're going to start designing our website with a theme and so on. But before we do that, we do need to create a main navigational menu which members, as well as a logout users will be able to use to navigate their way around our website. So right now as it is, we do have a default menu as shown by the workers 20-25 minute has the login page as well as the membership account pages all credit by of course, the membership of poor plugin. So let's do this. First of all, look, I'm gonna go ahead and create 83 new pages. Alright, so the first page here's going to be the blog page. I'll just put a title, let's publish. And then I'll do the same for the About page as well. So let's type in about, let's hit publish. And last but not least, I will add a contact page as well. Contact. Alright, let's publish. And there you go. Alright, next I'm gonna do is I am going to go over to our appearance and then menus. And I'm gonna go ahead now and create a main menu. So I'm going to call this one the main menu. Alright? And I'm gonna go ahead and click on Create menu. And now over here, I'm simply going to select all the pages right here. Let's just select everything. Let's add that to the menu. Okay, let's make a login, the very first menu link and then contact will be the last. And then of course, your profile membership levels in voice. All of these would fall under the membership account link. And then what I'm gonna do is I'm going to come down into categories. And I'm going to add the categories for finance, marketing, sales tax is basically all the categories fall members. I will add that to the menu. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna ate a custom link right here. And I'm just use hashtag. And then the link text, I'm going to call this one the premium content. Okay? Premium content. Let's add that. And of course, I'm going to drag it up all the way here. Let's put contact Beck at the bottom. And now finance, marketing, sales taxes always would fall on the, the premium content link. Now the idea here is that members of other users who are not logged. In. Other words, users who are not members will not be able to see these link as well as the categories for premium content. So we're gonna go ahead now and save the menu. Make sure that it took books for the extrapersonal menu is checked. So make sure this is the case. So now if we go back in here, now you can see this is going to be current menu as it is. But obviously, like I said earlier, we'll have to make some changes of it. It won't make any sense for a logged out users to see the membership accounts links and then also a non-emotional UDP on content link. So German event next video where I will now show you how we can show or hide our menu items based on whether or not it's a logged in user or a log belt user. 17. Working with the Nav Menu Roles Plugin: Welcome back. So now that we've created the main navigational menu, we need to figure out a way how we can display sets in menu items based on whether or not the user is logged in and also what membership level the user has. We want to be able to hide, for example, the content of men for the Gold members like finance. We want to hide that from users who only have the standard membership. And of course, we also want to hide links like log n for a user who is already logged in again. So right now I've logged in as James test user. And James can still see the login link. He can also see content for finance, which is of course for the Gold members. So what are we going to do? Now? We're going to make use of this plug-in here called nav menu olds buy coffee doll in. And this is a plug and I've been using for four or five years now it is a really, really good plugin. And the wonderful thing about this plugin is that you can hide or show menu items, items based on not only whether or not the user is logged in, but also you can show or hide many items based on the wall of the user. So check this out. Okay, I have already installed and I've activated a plugin. You can see it right here. Now if many roles. So to walk with the plug-in, I'm going to go over to our parents, go to menus. And what you're gonna do here is you'll go to the page, the link right here, you click on the dropdown arrow and inviting you will see the display mode. So first you have specifically for logged in users, logged out users, or just for everyone. Since this is log n, We want to show this only for logged out users. Make sense, alright. Now, blog will before everyone about Pedro before everyone membership account though. This is going to be only for logged in users. And if I take my net assets, we've chosen a logged in user. We can restrict the menu item based on a user's role. But since this is a link that every logged in user, user should see, we don't need to do that. Okay, so I'll just do the West in here. Logged in users for profile membership level, logged in user as well. Membership, invoice logged in user membership conformation. We might eventually remove some of these pages. We'll see. But for now, let's just make sure everything is only for logged in users, membership billing as well, logged in users. And there you go. Now, premium content, this is going to be only for logged in users, and it's gonna be four. Let's choose admin as well, and then standard membership and then gold membership. So you have to be one of these three users or you have to have one of these three years. I was in order to be able to see the PWM content link. And now for finance, then users, but isn't going to be available only for an admin and then only for a Gold Member. Okay, marketing is going to be for the admin, standard gold. That's where markets in. And then sales will be also for admin, standard gold as well. And then last but not least, taxes will only be for the admin and MD Gold Member, and then contact will be available for everyone. So that's it. I'm going to go ahead and now save the menu, and there you go. So now let's test to see what's going to happen. So I'm logged in currently as James who is a standard member. So I'm going to refresh the page. And now you can see Logan has disappeared. Mozilla have access to membership icon pages, and then in premium content, notes is we no longer see the obstacles for finance and taxes as because James is only a expanded member. However, let's run another test. I'm gonna go over here to memberships. Others go to members. And we're gonna click on James. And what I wanna do right here is to change James from Stanford to gold membership, ok. And then current level, I'm going to switch down to gold as well. Let's update the user. And now I'm gonna go back to my browser. Here refers to page. So you can see right now that James is, has the gold membership and then for p on content, he now has access to finance and then also the taxes articles as well. I'm going to go ahead now and logout James. And this is what a logged out users would see those hidden login, liquid a canal login to the website. So that's how to make use of the nav menu walls plug-in to hide or show menu items based on whether or not a user is logged in or logged out. Thank you so much for watching the video and of course I will see you in the next class. 18. Choosing our Theme: Well it come back. So now the time has come for us to choose a theme we're going to be working with for the rest of the course. And so far we have been using the default WordPress 20-20 thing, which isn't too bad, but they're definitely been a themes out there. Now I've got two different themes in here. I have genomic press and I also have the member loaded beam. Now why do I have to? Well, when I said I created this course and I was experimenting, I first of all started using genomic press. And then later on, after over a week, I discovered that the member lithium does exist. Now you may be wondering, you know, you might be thinking what's so special about mumble it well, the developers of the membership pro plug-in themselves developed the member lead theme. So there's basically a theme designed for the membership to a plug-in that we have been walking with. Now. Nine times out of a 100, it's often a very good idea to go with the theme developed, to walk with the major plug-in you're using to design your website. However, here's the thing. After plenty amount with both of these films, I had decided to stick with the genomic press thin. And I'm gonna tell you exactly why. So I'm gonna go back to the backend and I've already installed both themes. I'm going to activate the member lithium first of all, so you can see what it looks like. And all right, so here's a fanpage right now you can see that we remember that theme. The featured image is not displayed for the posts. And even when you click to view an individual posts, you don't have the featured image being displayed. And overall, I mean, if you go over to the backend, you do have customization options in here. But you can change things like the font family, you can change the default layout and so on. But when it comes to Theme Options and of all design, I think Jeanette press is better. I'm going to switch now to genetic press so you can see. So I'm going to activate generate press. Let's go to the front end. And now you can see genetic press is actually showing the featured image of posts as well. And if you go to the backend for the customization options, you will discover that it has a whole bunch of options that you can customize. Things like the font family for the buddy, for the heading. You can adjust the layouts, you can add containers, you can switch sidebars, things like that. So overall, it has more options than the memorable it theme. That's why I have decided to stick with the generic pristine. And by the way, this is a very, very popular theme. It's been around for quite some time and it's the kind of thing that I am fully confident will be maintained for many, many years to come. But let me just stress that even though we're going to use the generic theme from now on, if eventually you discover that you don't really like the fame, he wants something different, then I'll recommend you check out the Member lead thin it is, it is a solid thing. Don't give me long solid edges prefer the generic press fin. Okay, so that's it. I have chosen the genetic fest theme to walk with Germany. The next video where we will now go ahead and install the major plug-in we are going to be using to build out our pages. I'll see you then. 19. Installing Elementor: In our first to build, very, very now in other first to build out really awesome looking pages and content, we need to use a page builder and there are quite a few of them out there, but I'm going to go with what I believe is the very best Page Builder plugin for WordPress. And that's going to be elemental. Elemental is a fantastic page builder. I am a big, big, big fan of elemental. It is one of my all time favorite WordPress plugins. And we're gonna be using it to build out our website. Now elemental does have a paid version, but don't worry, we're gonna be using the free version of elemental. So what I want you to do is to go over to your plugins page, search for elemental, and then simply go ahead and install and activate the plugin. So I'm installing mine. And I'm gonna go ahead and actually before I activate the plugin, I might as well do this. I want you to also go ahead and install the essential add-ons for elemental. This is the plugin page right here. And the reason why we're installing this plugin is to add additional functionality to the free version of elements over installing. That's kind of like the downside of using free plugins, the paid version of elemental. If, if we were working with the division of elemental, We will not need the essential add-ons for elemental because the paid version has so much more functionality. But since we're working with the conversion of elemental, we need like are a boost of energy, a booster functionality. So the essential add-ons for elemental, I'll will do the job for us. I'm gonna go ahead and install the essential Adams for elemental as well. And so I'm going to go ahead now and activates elemental. And I'm gonna go over to my plug-ins as well, the page to also activate the essential add-ons for mentors. So I'm gonna go ahead and close these two pages. And there you go. So once you've installed elemental, you will see the elemental link right here. For the settings, you don't really need to change anything in here. It's fine as it is. Okay. There is no need for you to come in here and make any changes. But what I'm gonna do right now is should it, in case you don't know how to walk with elemental, you've never used it before. In the very next video, I'm going to give you basically like a crash course on how elemental works. However, if you are already confident with working with elemental, you're familiar with how the plug-in works. You can skip to the next video and thank you for watching. 20. Elementor Crash Course: Okay, so if you're watching this video, I'm going to assume that you've never worked with elemental before, or even if you have, you're not all that confident and you'd like a crash course on how the plugin work. So what I'm gonna do right now is I'm gonna go over to the backend and let's just choose a page to play around with. So I'm gonna choose the About page. Okay, I'm gonna go ahead now to edit the page. What happens is when you try editing the page from the backend, you will see this blue button here that says edit with elemental. So I'm gonna click in there. So what's going to happen right now is that will be taken to the backend of elemental where we can begin to design our page. So right now you can see we're on element as backend. You have right now, the elements. Elements are present content, so we can use the elements, so idea to display things like images, headings, tags, buttons, things like that. But we can also create structural. We can add sections, we can add columns and so on. So you can see we have the basic elements, okay, I'm gonna close this one. Do these all the pro elements available with the paid version of elemental. So will will not be able to walk with any of this, but it's okay because we have the general elements which are free forced to use. But remember, because we installed the ancestral add-ons plug-in, we also have additional elements that we can work with, so we pretty much covered. Now the way it works is that basically you simply click and drag any kind of element that you want to display. So for example, if I wanted to display an image, I'm gonna click on the image of ikea drag and then simply drop it inside this box. So now I'm being asked to choose the image that I would like to display. So I'm gonna click in here. I'm gonna go to my media library and I can choose this image right here, listens to that one. And there you go. So typically, for each element you'll walk in with, you're going to have three tabs on TOPO idea. You will have the tab for the content where you can add content, whether it's text and image. You will have style. But you can do things like change the law, change the background, and some of Pasi, things like that. But then you also have advanced. But you can do things like add margins, paddings, add CSS, IDs and classes and so on. What I'm gonna do right now is I'm going to walk with another element. This is imaged, right? I'm going to choose a text editor and I'll drop it in here as well. So now you see we have some default text I can copy and then I can paste, paste, paste. And then of course y k, I have the style. I can go over to the text color by clicking in here. And I can change the text color. You can see right now it's all red and so on. I can go to Advanced. Sorry about that. I can go to the Advanced tab right here. I can add margins if I want to. Oliver the element. And of course, for each of these sections, when I hover onto the element where you can see that we have the pen right here. Which when I click on, represents the actual element itself so I can make changes to the image. But right here you have the DOC button or the deck link right here representing the column hold in the element. So if I click in here, I can do things like change the width of the column. I can make it smaller. I can make it wider if I wanted to. I can change the vertical alignment, things like that. And then right here, you have the three buttons representing the section hold in both the column and the element. So if I click on the button right here, I can now edit this section. I can go with full width. If o1 two, I can change the width of the entire section. If I went into, I can make it longer, wider. If I wanted to, I can add a background color. For example, I can click in here. Now you can see I have limit seems to cohere to blue. Okay, so there you can see how I have like a blue background color there as well. And I can do things like add additional elements. I can duplicate the element by simply right-clicking in here. I can duplicate. I can do a lot of things in here. So that's basically the general idea. You have all your elements on the left-hand side, depending on what you want to display or the kind of country you want to create. You would simply click on the element. Click jug over to the right to drop it inside your section. Add your content standard if you want to. And that's pretty much how the entire plug-in works. Now, down here, you're going to have additional functionalities. So you can click on settings in here. This will take you to the actual sentence for the page itself. So you can change the title of the page. You can add a featured image. You can choose to hide the title right there you can see about is been displayed. I could just to hide a title so I belt is no longer displayed. And I could also choose to change the page layout if I wanted to. And of course, you also have access to style advanced options and so on. Going back down here you have the navigational elements which we will walk with a later. Don't worry about that. You have your history tool right here where you can undo changes. You can preview changes that you made a while ago. You have your vision stabbing him as well. And then you also have the responsive mode where you any clicking here. You can choose to see how the page would look like when viewed on until a device ON viewed on a mobile device. And then you can make changes for this specific kinds of screen size. So you have all these options in here. And of course, you can also preview your changes by click on the button right here, you can make updates to the page and so on. And then up here you have things like your sights set sends thin buildable, you can choose like global Kahlo's global font, Fanta, they'd be walking with Google. Talk about this in the next video. So let me just close this. And yeah, that's pretty much it. That's a crash course on how elemental locks. Don't worry. Since we're gonna be walking with Elemental for the rest of the course, I will take my time and I believe you would learn a lot more how the plugin actually works as we begin to build up the wheel content on our website. So thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 21. Getting Started with Design: Okay, so now let us begin to design our website. And before we begin welcome with elemental directly, there's a few things we need to do. The first I gonna do now is we're going to add the logo for all websites. I'm gonna come down here to our parents, go to customize. And they're going to go to site identity right here and right here for the logo I'm going to select. And I do have the logo right here. I have provided all of these images for you. So if you want to use this logo, by all means, go ahead and use it if you want to. I'm going to click on Select and I'm going to highlight everything so that the whole image is selected. There you go, alright, cup the image. And there you go. I, I'm also gonna go ahead to hide the side tagline. I will also hide the site title as well. And while we're here, check this out. Okay, I'm gonna go over to the layout, and I'm gonna go over to header. And I'm going to change the header presetting right here. I'm gonna go with navigation after and then sent hat. So what is does is that it will put a logo at the top and then the min navigational menu below it. And it'll be centralized as you can see. I awesome, I'm gonna go ahead. Publishes this changes. And now I'm going to head over to the back end. I'm going to add a new page and I'm going to call this page the home page. Okay? And then right here, you have layout. I'm gonna choose no sidebars, okay, no sidebars. And then the content container, we're gonna choose default for now, just keep this on default. And I'll also choose to disable the content title because we don't need to display home the home title on the homepage, so I will disable that one. Going to go ahead now and hit Publish. Okay, and then I'm gonna come down here to set since let's go to read in. And I'm going to change the homepage displays to display the homepage and then post page. I'm gonna go with the blog page that we created, LEO, awesome. Alright, let's save changes. And there we go. I'm gonna go back to pages again. And now I'm going to edit the home page. Okay, and now I'm gonna go ahead and click on edit with Elemental to take us to the element of backend where we're going to select the global font-family as well as the global Kahlo's. Before I do that, I'm going to click in here the Settings button, end user preferences. I don't know about you. This is very, very subjective, but I prefer the doc interface and it just looks so much better than, than the light interface over the matures doc for preferences. We're gonna go back in here and I'm going to click on Cite sets ends. And what I want us to do is to choose the global colors we're going to be working with on our website now, right here, I do have a notepad file that I've written down the clothes you're gonna be using. So the primary color here is going to be dark green, which is the same green color that I used for the logo. So I'm gonna click in here and I'm going to paste it right there. So that's going to be green color. And then the secondary colonial BY a dark blue color. So I'm gonna click in here. Let's paste that. And then you go for the texts. Let's just go with pure black. So 000000, pl black and then accents, which would be for like, you know, buttons and so on. And you have a shade of red color that I'm gonna go with right here. And there you go, right? So these are the four plausible walk in with, I'm gonna go back. And now I'm going to come down here to typography. Forget about a global fonts. Are topography on the theme style is a better way of indicating they found. Found is you want to use. So I'm gonna click on typography right here. And I, so this is very, very important because right here it says In other four themes tell to affect all relevant elemental elements are please disable default colors and fonts from the settings page. So if you see something like this, what you need to do is first of all, let's update so we save our changes. And now I'm gonna go over to the backend. So let's come down here, exited a dashboard. Alright, so you're gonna come over here to elemental, okay, you want to go to settings. And then from here, just simply click on disabled default colors and then disable a default fonts as well. Save changes. And now let's go back to our pages. Let's go to the homepage. And since we've already edited with elements of previously, you now have the link to edit directly with element is I'm gonna click in there, edit with elemental. And now let's go back up here to the settings, go to Site Settings, come down here to topography and the ego. So now for the body itself, we're going to keep the text Kahlo, which we've already chosen to be black. But then for the typography, I'm going to click in here where you have the pen. And then for the font-family, I'm gonna choose month set. Okay? Monsanto will be the default font family, and then the weight will be 300. And there you go. That's for the body text. Now, for the H 1s, which would be like the major headers, I'm going to click on typography. And I'm gonna go with the font-family of Anton. I'm gonna choose n Han, and then the font size in here. We're going to go really big. Let's go all the way to fit on. Let's even go with 55 pixels because the font-family Anton by default is pretty small. So you do need like huge font sizes for your headings with them. So that's for the h one, often family. And now for H2, the same thing. I'm going to choose, Anton right here for the H2. And then the font size, I'm going to go to 48 pixels. Okay? So there you go. That's for the H2. And then for the h3 will be the last one. Will choose Anton again. And for the h3, we'll just go with a 40 pixels. Okay? There you go. Let's go ahead now and updates. And there you go. There is no need for us to update h for h five h is because we're not going to be working with those headings in this course. So that's it for the initial setup with working with elemental, Jonah vintage video. Well, we'll now begin to build out the homepage of website. I'll see you then. 22. Building the Home Page Part 1: Welcome back. So now it is time for us to begin to build out the homepage for all websites. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go ahead to edit the homepage. And then for me I'm going to click on edit with Elemental to take us to the backend. And just to whet your appetite. This is kind of like what I am aiming for. This is my test site where I've been doing some tests and before actually building our membership site. So this is kind of like what I'm aiming for, but going to have like, you know, that the main banner right here with the main headline. We will have a section for about bees Academy will have some free articles, which would be the general content articles. And then we'll have this Section, full workshop. We will have links for the premium content. It's some testimonials and then a final push to join the academy. So this is what we're going to be modelling off. This is going to be our Moodle site. So in this video, I'm gonna show you how we can build the wafers section that we'll have the background image as well as the main headline with the taglines as well. So let's do this. Alright, I'm gonna head back in here. First I'm going to do is very, very simply, I am going to drag a heading element in here. And we'll interrupt DO right there. And the first I'm going to do is to type in proven practical advice. Okay, so let me just copy this. So I'm gonna come in here. I'm going to paste that. Okay, so proven practical advice for, and then I'm going to grab this text starts in a business. So when I was simply do is I'll grab another heading element, OK. And now notice that I'm going to drag it just beneath the very first one. Ok, notice what I'm doing. I'm going to drop it in there. And now in here for the tide tool, I'm gonna go ahead and simply Paste OK. And then one more time, I'm going to come in here. I'm going to grab this text. Okay, I'm going to repeat myself. I'm going to drag the heading element, drip it just directly underneath starting the business. Note that I'm not dropping it in here for a new section. I'm dropping all these headlines inside the exact same section. Okay, so I'm gonna jump that on the next slide in the business. And then I'm just gonna go ahead and paste that. And I'm going to remove membership websites to businesses, okay. K. So check this allocate. I'm gonna go ahead and choose the edit button for the section itself. Okay, so I'm gonna click in there. And what I'm gonna do here is I'm going to change the content width from box to full width. And then I'm also going to choose the height right here. And I'm gonna go with a minimum height. And I'm going to go with 755 pixels. Okay, that's gonna be the height for this section. And then I'm gonna go over here to style. On the background type. I'm going to click on the classic button. And then I'm going to choose an image with which we'll use as the background. And it's gonna be the image right here. I'm gonna go ahead and insert that into the media. And you go, all right, I'm gonna go ahead now and update. And let's view the page. So I'm gonna come in here, click on view page, and there you go. Alright, but getting gradually notes however, that these goals full width, okay, it goes from left to right. Well, this is kind of boxed as you can see. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go to the actual backend, the classic back-end right here. And then down here where you have the codons container. I'm gonna go with full width. We should have done this in a previous video actually, but it's okay. So full width, I'm gonna go ahead and now update. And now if you view the page, now you can see it is going full width now. Awesome. I, let's get back in here. I'm going to edit with elemental. And now notice the colors, ok, this is green, this is wide. So let's make those changes. I'm going to click inside the very first headline, proven practical advice. I'm gonna click in there. And what I'm gonna do is I'm going to align to the centre. First of all, I'll clicking here. And now we're gonna go over to style. And then when you have text color, I'm going to click on the default link right here with the one that looks like the symbol of the world. Basically I'm going to click and Dave, and I am going to choose primary. Ok. And then for typography, I'm gonna click in here for the pamphlet epigraphy. I'm gonna come right here where you have style and I'm gonna choose Italica. But then I'm also going to increase the size here a little bit. So let's go with 75 pixels For now, I might changes later, but let's do this exact same thing. Force doesn't have business. So I'm gonna click on suddenly business. I'm gonna lend to the center as well. Go to style text column in this case right now we're gonna go with white. So I'm gonna click on the red line instead. So FFT, FFF, fff. And of course, as you can imagine, the size is going to be very, very big. So I'm gonna go to typography and then size. Actually, I think I had mine at 99 pixels. Okay, so proven practical advice for starting a business. And then last but not least, we have the very last one in here. And what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna come down here to a, you have the HTML tag. I'm gonna change this film in H2 tag to a paragraph tag instead. Okay, so now he sits very, very small. I'm going to align it to the center. And then I'm gonna come over here. Ok, so after Create, notice that after I'll create right here and amazement membership sites is on the second line. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna come right here where you have create. Ok. And I'm going to force the paragraph to go to a second line by adding that break tag right there. Okay, so now this will force the text to go into two separate lines. And now I'm gonna go over to style, go to Text Color. And then I will also choose white in here as well. And then last but not the list, let's go to the topography itself. And of course we are going to increase the size just a little bit too. Let's go with 36 pixels. Okay? Alright, awesome. Let's go ahead now updates. And let's view the page and see how far we've come. Ok, we're getting there, although notes is there right here, we see more of the laptop. And there is also something like a DAC overlay because we can actually read the text much better than what we have right here. So let's fix that. Okay, I'm gonna go back to edit with elemental. And then we're going to head over to this section button right here, edit section. So check this out, locate the first thing I'm gonna do right here is I'm gonna go over to the style. And then right here what you have background overlay, I'm gonna click in day. I'm going to choose the bag on type for classic. Notice this is the overlay bag and Overlay not the bag on itself, a bag on overlaid. So I'm gonna click on clack classic, and then I'm going to choose the color right now of black. So black is 000000. And there you go. And then down here, we can regulate the opacity, how dark to be wanted to be. That's a little bit too dark, but I think this is just this is perfect right here, 0.52. Okay? All right. Now, for the bag on image, you can see what we are seen more than a laptop right here. What you can do is I can go back to background. I'll write an innovation where you have the position you can indicate from odd angles, elements should focus on the background image. So right here, I'm gonna go with the center, center. At night you can see all of a sudden we're now seeing more of the laptop. And there you go. I'm gonna go ahead and now updates. And of course, let us go ahead and view the page one more time. And there you go. Just like that, we have the very first section of our home page. I hope you enjoyed the video, Gemini VII annex video, but we will now move on to this second section where we're going to build out the about bees academies section. I'll see you then. 23. Building the Membership Home Page Part 2: Welcome back to part two of building up the home page. So in part one, we were able to build out the main featured image with the background, as well as the main headline and the tag lines proven practical advice first, doesn't have business, we teach people just like you had a plan Kuwait and goal amaze and businesses. Alright. For part two, we're going to build an out be about Bayes Academy. So if you pay close attention, you will notice that we have the dark blue background and it appears this section has two columns. Long column is going to have this image right here. Well, the second column to the right, we'll have the headline about this academy will have some takes and then we'll also have the button for weed more here. So let's do this again. We're gonna go in here to the homepage edit with elemental. And now we're going to be building out this in a new section, I guess I'm going to come down here. And of course this is the box right here where we're gonna be adding new sections. So since this section is actually divided into two columns, we do have an element for that. It's called the inner section. It's practically the very first element that you have access to. So I'm going to drag in a section and I'm gonna drop it right there. Okay? So for column number one, you can see right now we have the plus button right here to add elements to the first column. We also have the same for the second column. So the first column, I'm going to drag the image element right here, drop it in there, like it's hot. Okay, and I'm gonna, I'm gonna good game hinted to choose the image. And this is going to be the image right here, the one with the men with their fists. I'm gonna click in there and sit media. And then for the image size, I'm gonna go with Fool and go with full light there. And then for the second column, but we do have some text in here. I'm going to grab the text up until this point. All right? And I'm gonna click in here, gonna choose my text editor. I'm gonna drop it in there. And now I'm going to go ahead now and simply paste all that takes bend. By the way, if you want to get your hands on the dummy content, you can simply go to lorem ipsum. You can Google lorem ipsum generator and you will have links to where you can simply generate dummy content like this copy and then simply paste. Okay, so what else do we have? We do have the button weed more here. Okay, so check this out. I'm gonna go back to the elements. I'm going to drag the button element right here. And then notice I'm gonna drop you just underneath the text editor element where I take and see the Greenland appearing. So I'm gonna drop that right there. And of course I'm going to choose a size here to be medium. I'm going to align to the centre. And then right here where you have text, I'm gonna type in. Read more here. Okay, let's go over to style. All right, and then right here where you have the background color, I'm gonna click on the default button and then choose the action column. Ok. Next year is going to now be the background color for the actual, Oh, sorry about that. We forgot the headline about basic Academy. And I'm going to copy this. Music academy. Go back in here, drag the head in, and I'm going to drop it just above. The text editor right there. And of course I'm going to paste the text about bees academy. Ok. Now for the background, I'm going to click on the Edit button for this section. I'm going to choose full-width right here. Okay? And we're gonna go to style and then background type, choose classic. But now we're gonna go with a color, and I'm gonna go with this secondary color right there. And of course right now will have to change the color of text. So I'm gonna go back to edit the about bees academy, go to style, go over to the text color. And of course, fff, fff. And then of course for the text itself, click on the pen, go to style, go to ticks color. Once again, one more time. F, f, f, f, f, f. And they go I. Let's go ahead and now updates. And let's view the page. Let's do what we heard. All right, when I come down here and they, you go, awesome, but we're not quite done yet. Notice the white shell on our modal website, we do have a lot more space and you can see there's more space between the headline and then the image from the top and bottom as well. So we need to fix this. And how do we fix this way, I'll play something called pad in. So I'm gonna go back to edit with elemental. And I'm gonna go over to the Section button right here. I'm gonna click in there. I'm gonna go over to Advanced and invite Hilary where you have padding. I'm gonna add some values. But here's the thing there'll before you begin adding any values in here, click on this link right here to break the chain. Because what happens is by default areas, if you add like, let's say 45 pixels for planning, for example, is going to add it to the right side, the bottom side and left side, and we don't want this. Okay, so I'm gonna go back to remove this. So now I'm going to click on the link rated to break the link. Now we can add individual values to the top, bottom and so on. Alright, so I'm gonna go with 30 pixels for the top and then 30 pixels for the bottom as well. Let's go ahead now updates. And of course we are going to view the page. And there you go, looking awesome lied. So that's it. We've successfully created the second section, which is the about Bayes Academy. Now, let me just stress once and VEVO important right here, okay. This weed more links should point to the about us page. So in fact, let's do that. Okay, I'm gonna go back to edit with elemental. Okay, well might as well do it is now going to come down here, click on the button. And then you might say, well, you have the link, this is where you add the link to your About page. So you can also go to the link options in here. And you can choose to open this in a new window if you want to. But what I'm gonna do is simply say forward slash and then about, okay, they'll will link to the about page. So I'm gonna go ahead and now updates. And let's view the page one more time. Let's click on the read more here. In a you can see it takes us to the about page which we will build later. So that's a thank you for watching German event X10 bell will now create the next section we'll display of free articles and also some of our premium content. I'll see you then. 24. Displaying our Home Page Articles: We'll come back so previously we've been able to create the very first section with the main featured ban, the tagline headlines and then of course, the about bees academies section. And I want to make it very, very quick change. So in our demo website right here, we do have the Read More here, aligned to the left board on our own side, it's aligned to the right. So let's just make a very quick change and see if it actually looks better when it's aligned to the left. And these are some of the things that you would do as a designer. You know, you test things out just to see i'd so going to a land is to decenter sorted left. Let's update. And I'm gonna go back, view the page. And let's cool down here. And what do you think? I think, I think that actually looks better aligned to the left? Just my personal preference. Anyway. So now let's go ahead and display our free articles section. But we're also going to display our some of our premium content as well. Remember that the idea here is to advertise, promote our PID contents so that users who have not yet become members that will be encouraged to become a member so they can read premium content. So how are we going to display this, right, I'm gonna go back in here, edit with elemental. And of course, I'm going to scroll all the way down here. Now what you're gonna do is we're gonna make use of one of the elements provided by the essential add ons. So this is why we installed the essential add-ons are plug-ins so that we can have access to this particular element here, okay? It's called the posts greed element. Okay? So I'm going to drag this and I'm going to drop it in here. So what this element does is that it has the ability to display posts. The wonderful thing is there'll be can indicate from what category of post we want to display. So vape here where you have categories, I'm going to click inside and I'm going to choose general contents so that only content from the general conduct category will now be displayed. Alright, posts per page right here we're gonna go with three. Okay? And then let's close the query and then invite here by the willingness also explained it a little bit further. If you have multiple offers on your website, you can choose to display content specifically from a particular author. You simply click in hitches the author's name. You can also choose our content-based on tags as well if you want to. Alright, that's for query. Now layout settings that they're gonna go with three columns as opposed to four. And then the layout, we're going to go with grid. Okay, we're gonna go with a grid layout. And now in here image size, we're gonna go with full. Okay, now you may be wondering, why do I always insist on display an image sizes as full? That then is if you try this, blame them on medium. You might notice that the images are not. Crisp, they're not very, very clear. There might be a little bit blurred. So to avoid that, it's best that you always go with full. In fact, let me show you very, very quickly if I go with thumbnail. As an example, you can see that the images are not quizzed and not clear. But when you go with full, there will always be crisp and clear. So please always go with full, our image size. Okay? The tags are going to be this plane for the titles here would be an h3 tag. Okay, so h3. And then the excerpt I belive the accept here was about 30 words. Let's increase the except from ten to, let's go with 30 Woods. I think that's enough. K. And now read more. We're going to show the read more button as well, but we're going to hide the meta-information. So the meta information would be the author's name, the date it was published. So let's go ahead and hide that. So we only have this awesome, we are good to go. Only for now is just to grab the free articles. Are headlines delimiters copy this will quick for articles. And now we're gonna go back to our elements and we're gonna go over to basic. And then right here I'm going to drag the heading elements and I'm going to drop it just above right here. Let's align to the centre. And we're gonna say free articles. Okay, so that's one down, one more to go, and that's going to be the premium content. Now you would notice that these has a different kind of style, right? We have them in two columns and then we have this intuition where they tied tool is kind of embedded onto the image. And then when you hover on the image, you now have the accept shown. So obviously we're using a different element here, but what element or we use in, well, let's take a look. It's going to be the timeline element. Okay, so I'm going to come down here, go back to our essential add-ons. Let's call all the way down here. And when is it is going to be around HIS up here. Okay. It's it's ideas, posts timeline of i. So this is my table is timeline. So I'm going to grab it and I'm going to drop it in here. Ok, and they go. And now in just the same way as the previous section, we can indicate the categories we want to display the content from. So IT, I'm gonna choose finance, I'll choose marketing, I'll choose sills, and I'll choose taxes as well. But even better. I'm going to come down here. And then what you have order by, you can go with random. So let the plug-in just decide what articles to display on this specific category. So we're gonna go with random. Okay, awesome. Now let's go with the layout settings limit, close query, calm down, hit the layout sets. And so again, image size are going to go with full, okay, and then accept words. We're gonna go with 30 as well. Remember that the acceptable sure, when the user hovers on the image. Now, I'm gonna go ahead and add the element for the headline, checkout our PML content. So let me grab this copy. Go back to basic, drag the heading element and tripping up here a line to the center. And then I'm going to paste, check out our PM content. And let's go to style text color right here. And I'm going to choose the accent color. Let's go ahead now updates. And let's see what the page looks like. Alright, so I'm going to scroll down. Okay, so free articles looks good. Chicken upm content looks good as well. How EV, Take a look at this. So the tide tools for the articles are very, very small. Now if we go back and this is something that you might notice once in a while with elemental. Let me come down here. So right here on the back end you can see it's actually kind of big. It looks a little bit from the backend, but on the front end, it's not that big. So if we go back in here to edit this particular element, and we go over to the layout settings. Right here. You can see that the tag we've chosen for the articles right here is an H two. And yet if we, if we go back to the site settings in here, we go to the topography. Remember that we said h2 right here must be, how big must be 48 pixels. And obviously it's not been displayed in 14 pixels. So what we can do very deliberately right now is, let me come back down here. Go back in here, edit. What we can do is we can go now to style. So we're going to basically ignore this H2O I tip because obviously this is not coming into effect. So what you can do is you can go to style. And then right here, down here you will see typography. We're going to click in there now, right? And then you have the title style right here. I'm going to click on the button for title typography and invites here we will now directly and specifically see 48 pixels. Okay, let's go ahead now updates. And now let's view the page. Scroll down. And there you go. So now you can see it is now in 40 pixels. But you can see that we need to increase the line heights of the title because you can see now that the words are kind of a model together. So let's go back once again. And we're going to come down here. Go back to edit this element. Go to style, calm down here to typography. Go to the typographic button. So what you're gonna do is you're going to increase the line height right here. And after this, and I know that 1.5 should be good enough. So 1.5 for the line height. Let's update. And now let's go about to view the page. Scroll down here. And okay, so there you go. So now you can see that the titles now look a lot better. How? You might notice that there is another little bit of an issue with the excerpt. The title is now over writing the UC that so these are some of the things that you will have to figure out ways how you can solve. So there's a couple of ways how we can actually solve as we can, either reduce the line-height EBIT further. All we can reduce the size of the title. All we can simply reduce the length of the excerpt. I think the easiest right here would be to simply reduce the excerpt all of our article. So one more time, we're going to go to the backend. And we're going to reduce it firm are 30 words. We're going to bring it down to, let's say ten words. All right, so let's go over here, go to the layout settings, and then right here except words. Let's take it down to ten. And let's see, we can even experimental right here. We can hover, okay, so ten, maybe we can go to 15. Maybe we can go to 18. Okay. I think 18 should just be about enough. So I'm gonna go back updates. And there you go. So that's pretty much what you're going to be doing. You know, you will make sense and design changes. You go over to the front and you take a look and see how it looks like you may not like it. You will have to go back, make adjustments. But that's how the game works. So that's it. We've successfully displayed content from our free articles section and also our premium content. Now, obviously we're still gonna have to create some space in between the free articles and this section above here. But before we do that, we're gonna go ahead and add the section in-between where we'll have the free workshop and a video. So Gemini VII, next video where we'll go ahead and create this section. I'll see you then. 25. Displaying the Workshop Section: Well a convex. In a previous video, we successfully added sections for free articles as well as our premium content. But on our demo site, we do have another section in-between them. Ok, we have the free workshops. Should I start a business? You know, what's this free workshop right now? And then on the left we have a video, like a sample video. But the thing is, you would also notice that the structure of this particular section is a little bit different from the others in that the column on the right is obviously wider than the one on the left. So how are we going to do this? Well, I'm gonna go over to our site. That's cool all the way down here. We're gonna make use of the ina section element. We're going to drop it in here. But take a look at this, okay, down here where you have structural, I'm going to click inside and I'm going to choose the 33 by 66 so that the column on the left, we'll have 33% of the total width of the section, while the one on the right, we'll have 66% all k. Now, notice I'm clicking on the Edit button for the main section. Not the inner section, but the main section, I guess I'm going to click inside. Okay, I'm gonna go to content with are gonna go with full width. And then we're gonna go over to style, but we're gonna choose the background type, classic. I'm going to choose the doc cultivated, the secondary color. And there you go. Awesome. So on the left column, I'm going to click inside. And then I'm going to choose the video element right here. I'm going to drop it inside. And basically this is how you would add videos with elements of soap writer. You have the source. You can choose from either YouTube, Vimeo, daily motion, or self hosted. Self hosted meaning that it's actually uploaded to your media library, which is not the best idea because videos tend to be a little bit heavier than images. So the more videos you have stored in the media library, the more space there will occupy. But it might be OK if it's just one video, I'll give you just one video study media library, or you should be fine. But for the purposes of this training, but it's gonna put it in as it's from YouTube, that's the URL right there. So in here you've got the player controls. You have things like auto play, play on mobile, things like that. I will just leave the default settings. But right here you have the image overlay. I'm going to click to show an image overlay. And then I'm going to choose an image that will represent the video and as the image right here. Instead the image. And they, you go, Awesome. I, now for the lights, what do we have in here? We have a headline for your buck sharpshooter started business. So I'm going to grab a head element, jump it inside, change the text. Okay? And then I'm going to choose an H3 aligned to the center. Go to style. And of course I'm gonna change the text color to go with fff. Fff, okay, next is going to be some text. So I'm gonna grab this, go back in here. Text edit tool triplets underneath the headline, going to paste the text. How forever? I'm good to chin some wardens in here. So I'm gonna say whether a business is right for you and if any, so how to dispatch invalidates your business idea? Yeah. Okay. Alright. And then I'm going to of course, go to style. The text color will also be fff. Fff our going to align to the centre. And then it's also an italic styles. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna go over to typography. And then right away you have the style. I'm gonna go with italic. Okay? And last but not least, we have a button that says watch this free walk shop now. So I'm gonna go back in here. Button, trippy right there. Change the alignment. We're going to say, watch this free workshop now. And then obviously you would put the link right here to link to the video, whether it's on YouTube, Vimeo, wherever the size we can go with medium. Okay, and then of course, style, we're going to go with the background color right here. And they, of course, we're going to choose the accent color. And there you go. Let's hit updates. And now let's view the page to see what it looks like. Let's scroll down here. And there you go. So looking good. But how do we now get this section to be in-between the free articles and the premium content sections. Well, it's pretty easy, but let's go back to the backend. And if element that you can easily just click and drag and you can click and drag elements. So right here, check this out. I'm going to click on the main section, Edit button, click hold. And now I can now drag and drop it just in-between free articles, MPM content, and voila. There you go. Okay. Before I save this less, now, add some space in. So for the free articles section, I'm going to click on the main Edit Section button right there. Go to Advanced. And we're gonna keep the padding values consistent. So there's going to be 30 pixels top, 30 pixels, bottom in k. Let's do the exact same thing in him as well. Editors section go to advanced on link dependent values, top 30 pixels, and then bottom 30 pixels as well. And then of course, premium content to the same thing, advanced on link dependent values. Pen and top. Pendant at the bottom as when. Okay, okay, okay, let's go ahead and I'll update. And now let's view the page. Let's cool down. And they, you go look in, good, right? We're getting there. We're getting there. We have two more sections which would be testimonials and then this final one joint D, damaged by Academy today where we'll build this out. But there's one other thing I want you to understand why we included this section in between. So one thing about design is that when you have multiple sections on your page, it's often a good idea to have different colors for each section. You shouldn't have to sections filling each other having the exact same background color. If we had free articles and then pyramid content together, all you will have is a wide Pacman. It's, it's not going to look quite as good. But when you have a section in between that has a different beg on colo, it looks beta. Okay, I mean you can, you can experiment, you can try bringing back PM contents to be just beneath the free article section. And you will see it doesn't look quite as good as it does now. So that's it. Thank you so much for watching the video Gemini VII, next video where we will now create the testimonials section. I will see you then. 26. Displaying the Home Page Testimonials: Well it come backs and now it is time for everyone's favorite section, which is going to be testimonials. And we do have three different testimonials from three people, John Doe, John Doe, and John Doe. Obviously not going to make some changes in it. Okay, but how do we do this? Well, it's pretty straightforward. We're going to have three columns, all of equal width and height. We'll have the testimonial will have the person's photograph and then the person's name, and then either the person's job title, all web link. It's better when it's a web link because I think that adds a bit more authenticity to the testimonial. So let's do this. I'm gonna go over here as usual, edit with elemental. And we're gonna go all the way to the bottom. Alright, so to create a three-column structure or check this out. Ok, I'm going to grab Ines section. Once again, I'm gonna drop it inside. And what I'm gonna do, first of all is I'm going to create the very first testimonial. So let me grab this text right here. Okay. I'm gonna go back. And now testimonials, you will find those on the general and it should be right here. So it's right here. Testimony, I'll click drag. I'm going to drop it inside. And now for the person's image, I'm gonna click inside and we're gonna go with this very, very happy looking fellow. You can see he's so happy with what has been able to accomplish by enrolling in a membership plans. So his name is going to be let's call him James Joe, jj. Okay. And at time tool we can add an actual web links, let's say hotlinks.com. And okay, so what else are we going to do? We're going to make the the testimony itself Italian style. So we're gonna go over to the style right here. We're gonna go to the topography on the content, you click inside. And then of course, style, we're going to go with it, italic, okay? But the color itself is whites and not black. So let's change the background color first of all, for the section itself. So I'm gonna click inside. We're gonna go with full with, okay, go to style bag on type Classic and then the color right here. We're gonna go with the primary color. Now, let me use this opportunity to explain why will always going full width, because this might be a question you might have had c. If we stick with boxed, what will happen is that sometimes you will notice that the background color for the sexual will not stretch to the edges of the screen. It happens, it's usually affected by the theme you're using. But to be on the safe side, it's always best to just come in here and go full width so that no matter what, regardless of what theme you're using, the background color of this section will always extend to the, to the edges of the screen. That's why I'm always going up content with full width. Full the main section. Okay. Let's go back to a testimonial. I'll go to text color right now. And then I'm gonna make this fff, fff. But we're also going to do the same thing for the name as well. So text color right here is going to be once again, fff, fff less bundle is the title typography. I'm sorry, not top of it, but the text color is going to be F, F, F, F, F, F. Okay? Now, check this out. Okay? What I'm gonna do is rather than just recreating this sectional over again, I'm going to right-click on edit column right here and duplicates. And there you go. I'm gonna do one more time, right click and then duplicate. And what I will do because we now have four columns, is to like work on the very last column right here, right-click in day and simply delete. This is a very, very, very smart and fast way of walking with elemental. So now we have three testimonial blocks. All we now need to do is to simply edits the individual blocks. I'm going to click on the second block right here. Click on edit. We're going to change the person from Mr. Joe to what are we going to call? Lady right here, let's call it and then see drew. Ok. And I'm going to simply just say Nancy Drew.com. Okay. And last but not lists, I'm going to click inside here. And I'm gonna go with, actually have no idea what we're going to call this peasant. Let's call him David. David Chow. I guess. I don't know whatever name it what it's fine. David Chow. Okay. And I'm gonna change this to investments.com. Let's say ciao investments. How about, how about that? Chao investments.com? I think that makes a bit more sense. And there you go. We're done updates. Oh, let's also add padding. Of course, let's add some padding. So we're good to demand section on chin, the patent values sets pixels and then 30 pixels for the bottom. Let's update. And now let's view the page. Scroll down. And there you go. We've successfully added testimonials. So German event next video where we'll now go ahead and add the final section of our homepage. I'll see you then. 27. Building the Homepage Final Section: Well, it come back soon when now at the final section of a homepage. And in all honesty, this is going to be the most challenging section, but don't worry, you're going to learn exactly how to build out this kind of section. So Let's take a look at what's happening in here. Obviously we have two columns. We have one on the left which has the, you know, the main headline right there. And then what looks like a list of reasons why people should join the academy. And then on the right we have a video. And then at the bottom of this two columns we have at the center, click here to find out mole. So how do we do this? Well, ahead of it to the backend as usual, edited with elemental. And we're going to scroll all the way down as usual in a section, obviously, since we're dealing with two columns. And all right, so let's go back in here and let's see what's going on. So first of all, we have a main headline that says membership Academy today. I'm going to grab this First of all. Okay. Let's go to Elements head in. Let's drop it inside. And I'm going to paste that. And this is going to be an h three. Okay? Next, we're going to ignore the joined the for now and you'll see why very, very, very soon. Let's focus on this particular element that's displaying three major reasons why users should join. So to do this, we're gonna make use of another element from the essential add-ons. Ok? And that element is going to be the official list elements. There's the one right here, futuro list next to you, fancy text. So I'm going to click drag and then Jupiter's underneath the membership Academy today. And there you go. So right here you have by default three features, but you can always add more items if you want to. So, for instance, was I'm gonna click on the very first featured item right here. Okay, and what do we have in here? We have in-depth training as the main title. So right here where you have title I'm going to say in in depth, training. And okay, and then I'm going to remove this content, paste the content right there. Okay? And now for the symbol, where have we have something like a certificate right here. So I'm gonna click inside. And then you can choose from a wide variety of different kinds of icons. So I believe this one should be graduate Actually I think is graduate. So it's right here, graduates. So I'm going to choose it right there. Click to insert, and there you go. All right, so next is going to be exclusive tools and member only discounts. So we've closed number one, I'm going to go to number two right here. Change the title to that one, and then I'm going to grab the text inherit as well. Going to come in here. And I'm going to paste the text. And the icon right here is like a gift. Okay, so I'm gonna click inside in here. And I'm going to choose gifts as the icon. Set that one. And last but not least, we do have the active support community. So I'm gonna click inside, change the title. Active, supportive community. And then I'm going to grab this text as well. Coming here. Paste that. Let me add my f for feedback. And then for the icon, this is going to be the user icon. So user and the one we were looking for is the one with three people in. It's the one right here. Uses, alright, then to insert that. And there you go. Awesome. Okay, we're done with this section or whatever, this column. Let's take a look at what we have on the right. So it's going to be a video, right? Ok, so very, very simply, let's go back to our basic element. I'm going to drag video. I'm gonna drop it inside here. And then I'm going to come down here to image overlay. Choose an overlay. And then I'm going to choose the image right here. Insert that. And there you go. Alright, let's go ahead now and update. And let's see what it looks like. Those fall it's view the page. Let's come down here. And then you go. All right, so we still need to make some major changes. You will notice right here that the right here seems to be a bit bigger, bit bolder. So we need to fix that. And of course we also need to add the joint, the text as well. Let's take care of the video First of all, okay, I'm gonna go back in here, edit with elemental. And the first thing we're gonna do is we're going to change the aspect ratio for the video. So right here, I'm going to click on the pen to edit the video, go to style and invite here the default aspect ratio is 16 by nine. We're gonna go with three by two. Okay, so the video is now a bit taller, but we're gonna go now to edit the main section. And I'm going to change the content width. I'm going to keep it at boxed, but I'm gonna go to 13 to five. So this section right now is going to be a little bit wider than the other ones. And then last but not least, I'm going to go to edit the Ina's section right now. And I'm going to change the content width from boxed to full width. And then you go, Let's go ahead now update. And now let's view the page. Come back down here. And there you go. So we're getting there two more things to do. Joined v and then the clicker to find out more. Let's add the button first of all. So let's go back in here and scroll down here as usual. Let's go to button, Add button just underneath both columns. Notice I'm not dropping it in here or in here. It's actually underneath both. So let's click in the GOP right there. Synthesize to medium. And then for the text, we're going to say click here to find out more. So ideally, this link should points to your memberships page where you'll be selling the memberships. So let's change the background color. So the background color right here, we're gonna go with the accent. And there you go. Oh, I'm sorry. It's actually green. Not read. My apologies. So it's bigger with green, not wed K. But you will notice that the text right here is actually bolder than what we currently have right here. So we can go over to the typographic button right here and click on Edit. And ever you have weights, we can go with like seven hundred, eight hundred and maybe a little bit bigger. And for the size, we can even make it a big bigger than usual because this is like, you know, like a major, major button. So nothing's going to four pixels should be fine. Okay, let's update. And then you go. All right, so how do we now add this join V. Okay? Check this out. Alright, I'm gonna go back in here. And I'm going to grab the heading elements. And we're gonna drop it just above the membership Academy today. And I'll simply say join V. But I'm gonna make this an H3 as well. I'm gonna go over to style. I'm gonna change the text color to accent. And then I'm gonna go to typography. And then I'm also going to change the style to italic. Okay? But even if I updates and we view the page, you will notice that it looks very, very different from what we have over here. You will notice that the spacing between the joint D And membership is a lot wider here. Then all we have in here, and also the size and the font family is a little bit different. So how are we going to fix this? Well, the first thing is to go back in here, go to Edit with elemental. And we're going to change the font family first of all, and then the font size. So let's go down here. Click on join the, we're gonna go to style, Go to the topography, and then the font-family. It's actually going to be comic. Comic. Newegg does different family. And then the weight is going to be 900. And then for the size, we have 32 pixels. Okay, fine. That takes care of the design, but what about the spacing? Right now, I'm going to introduce you to something that's a bit advanced. Ok, but don't worry, I'm going to make it easy for you to understand. So I'm gonna click on advanced right now, advanced. And I'm gonna come down here to position in. Okay? And there may you have position defaults? I'm gonna change these to absolutes. What I'm doing right now is I am tell an element of that. I want to manually place this particular header at the exact position. I wanted to beat this plate. Okay? Usually whenever you add an elements, elemental automatically polices the elements where it feels it's best to be displayed, where there's a particular structure to how elemental will display your content. But now when your chin it a positioning from defaults to absolutes. We are now the ones in charge of manually placed in exactly where we want the element to be in. But please use this feature sparingly because it has the ability to break the entire structure of your site if you abuse it. Okay? So right now we have chosen absolute, right? And now we have the offset for horizontal and vertical. So for horizontal, you can see right now that we can move these rare EVA we want to move it to, in this case right now, I'm just going to keep it at 0, both for the vertical orientation. I'm gonna go with negative 33 pixels. Okay? And there you go. That's exactly how you would use this absolute positioning feature. Alright, last burnout list. Let's add our usual patterns to the main section. So 30 pixels at the top and then 30 pixels at the bottom. Let's go ahead now updates. And of course, let's view the page. Let's come down here. And there you go. We have successfully added the final section for a home page. So that's it. Thank you so much for watching. Oh, and by the way, before I go, before I go lambdas mentioned is right now when you have, whenever you use things like the absolute position in okay, please ensure that you will look good on mobile devices as well. Because even those who look good on desktop, it may look really bad when viewed on a mobile device. So if we go back to edit with elemental, let's quickly do this. Let's do a quick test. I'm gonna come down here. Today you have your responsive mode. Let's go with the tablet First of all. Okay, let's scroll down here. And you can see for tablet, it looks good so far. And then for mobile, it's still looks good. So at least this particular feature looks good across all devices where you're going to make a few changes later on for the rest of the site for mobile. But for now we are look in good. That is the homepage successfully built out for a website. So Germany of annex video babble and not take a look at how we can build out the footer for our side. I'll see you then. 28. Creating our Custom Footer: Welcome back. So now that we've built out the header as well as the homepage, the last thing we need to do is to build out Fatah and as he can sue a now this is currently viable bland. There's nothing interesting about our footer and this is what I'm aiming for. We're going to have like a custom footer, menu, social media icons, and then the coprolites texts. And of course we'd be dark blue background. Now, the thin is with the theme we're using the generic Press Theme. You do have some options to customize the footer like if you go to I believe are general or sorry, not Jenny. Well, if you go to layout and then here you will have photo, you can actually do things like change the default with determined how many widgets you under display and so on. But you're not gonna get as much control as you would like. So we can actually use elemental to create a custom footer for ourselves. And in fact, you can also create a custom header if you want to. But since we're not working with the paid version of implementable with the free version, we need to install another plugin and upload and is going to be the elemental header footer and blocks template by Bernstein force and Nikhil Javan. It's a really, really awesome plugin. Now with this plugin, you can create costs on blogs, custom headers and footers and so on. So go ahead to install an activities plugin. I have already done that. And when you do the same, if you come down here to your parents, you will now see Header photon blocks. You click in there. And the first thing we're gonna do is we're going to click on add new. And I'm going to simply call this one photon. Okay? For there's going to be the template right here. The type of template is going to be foods. As you can see, you can even create additional templates like maybe you want to display a section just before the photo. You can do that. Logo would put us all click on footer and innovative display on. We're going to display it throughout the entire website. So I'm gonna choose Intel upside. And then right here, where you have the sidebars, I'm going to choose no sidebars are Kayla gestures, no sidebars there. Hit publish. And there you go. Right next now is to click on edit with elemental. So what do we have here? We basically have three elements. We have a costume, photon menu, social media icons, and then the copyright texts. So actually before we begin to create aids, the food's up. We need to create a custom footer menu. Okay, so let's go to our parents, go to menus, and let's click on Create a New Menu. We'll call this one the footer menu. Let's create the menu. And let's just add some pages. So I'm going to add the above page, the contact page. Wells, can we add in here? Let's go to the blog page, I guess. Let's see what else do we have in here? Okay. I'm just gonna go with the other three pages. Okay. Just blog about contacts. I guess. Let's go ahead now save the menu. And there you go. Okay, next we're gonna do right now is to go back to our parents, head us Freetown blocks. And then from here we're going to click on edit with elemental. And now, since we've installed lithos plug-in, there's gonna be a new section for the header. Foods aren't blocks, so it's going to be right here. We're looking for the navigation menu, saw job that in there. And you can see right now the photon menu has been chosen automatically. That's perfectly fine. So under layouts we can align to the centre. And that's pretty much all we need to do. We're going to change the color, of course, because the color of all the text in here is white. So let's do this. I'm going to click in here. I changed the content with the full width, go to style, classic. And, and I'll choose the secondary color. And of course let's also add up hadn't as well. So 30 pixels on the top, 50 pixels at the bottom. Okay, let's go back to my elements. I'm going to click in here. And if I go to style right here, we can change the text color of course to FFF. Fff. And also where you have topography. I'm gonna click on the pen right there. And we can change the case from defaults to uppercase. Okay? And we can also do some declaration like do underline. So we'll underline or three menu items for the foods are. While we're here, let's also drag the copyright, text element and algebra divide there. And I'm gonna go to text color and also make this one white as well. And then align to the centre. So by default it will pull in the current year and then the site title. But of course you can customize your copyright techs NEA if you want to. Ok. Last but not least, we do have the social media icons, which you'll find on the general. And it's right here, social icons. So I'm gonna jump in-between the menu and the copyright texts. And there you go. So for your Facebook page, you'd click on Facebook right here. You can add a link in here if you want to, and you can do the rest for Twitter and YouTube. You can also add additional social media platforms. In this case, I'm gonna go with, let's go with pinto S. Okay, Pinterest, insert, and there you go, but can also change the position, maybe Jack Pinterest before YouTube, maybe jokes we tell in-between Pinterest and YouTube. And that's it. So shape, I'll go with circle. That's perfectly fine. If you go to style, you can increase the spacing between the social media icons. So let's go all the way to 15. And they go, I'm going to go ahead now updates. And we should be good to go. I'm going to exit to the Dashboard. Go to our front page, scroll down all the way to the bottom. And there you go. We have a nice clean food tower with a photometer, new social media icons, and then of course, the copyright text. So that's how to create a custom foods are using the header footer and blocks templates add-on. Thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 29. Installing WooCommerce on Membership Website: All right, so now let's take a look at how we can install Woo Commerce on our membership website. It is a plug-in. It's free, and I do have it already searched for here under Plugins page. So I'm gonna go ahead now and click on install now. And obviously I'm going to go ahead and activate the plugin. So there is a wizard, a setup wizard, or we can actually use. And I'll recommend there we go with the wizard. Since the one right here, basically you can add an address, so, and I'm just going to add my default address I always use. I'm going to add this one right here. Click on continue. Lambda is choose the country is united states, Alabama. Click Continue, continue. Alright, so enrich industry. Does our store operate where obviously in education and learning. And so in here it says our watermark products will be listed were not selling physical products, are we're selling subscriptions and basically bishops. So we'll choose these two. Let's click on continue. And then how many products do you plan to display? We'll just go with one to ten. Are currently silane elsewhere? Know these answers aren't really that important, to be honest, I'll turn these off. We don't need any of this. I'll click, click on continue. And I would say in a choose a theme to walk with, no, thank you already have a theme. So what I can simply do eight here is we can scroll down here and we can kinda see, skip this step, and there you go. So it might also ask you to do things like install. Our jetpack will come as shipping and tax. We don't need any of this odyssey. No banks. And there goes another you have welcome us installed. You will have the Wacom Us tab right here. You know, you'll have orders, coupons, reports, sets, ends, and things like that. But there is something you should also pay very close attention to. If you go to your pages, you should see three new pages created by default are with newcomers. You will see the cock page right here. You will have the checkout page as well. And then you should also have a my account page and also a fourth bit actually, which is the shop page. I'd, you'll have this four pages created for you by war commas. And if you go to Woo Commerce, you go over to set ends and you go to, I believe, advanced. Right here. You will see the webpage chosen to be carts checkout, gh-pages, checkout, my account page as my accounts and make sure these are as they should be. All right. So that's it for installing a walker must thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 30. Configuring the WooCommerce Payment Gateways: Now that we have will come AS installed on our site, I'd like to show you how you can configure the PayPal and stripe payment gateways with commas. Now, I've already made this video before for another course, or I don't want to record the entire thing all over again. So basically I'm just going to play you the exact same video individually. You will learn how you can configure paper towels trip with, with commas. But the webs that I'm using is going to be a different website because again, this is a video from the previous course, and honestly, I just don't want to record the entire video all over again. So by the end of this video, you would have learned how you can configure a PayPal standard and stripe with newcomers. And as usual, if you have any questions about this, please do. Let me know and I'll be sure to answer them. So sit back, relax and I hope you enjoy the video. So first is first is I'm gonna come down here to welcome us, go to settings. And then right here I'm gonna click on payments. And you will see PayPal standard right here. Let's enable it. And then I'm gonna click on Setup. And then right here, make sure that the PayPal e-mail is the one associated with your business account. You need a business account with PayPal plays, not just a personal account. So you're going to add the PayPal e-mail idea associated with your business account. And also make sure that this is ticked because sometimes welcome us on Texas for some reason, but make sure this box right here is stick to enable PayPal standard. And then down here you will see the API credentials, live API user name, password signature. Now it says it's optional and you should be able to accept payment, a PayPal payments already like this, but just to be on the safe side in case you're having issues, I'll recommend you add you add the live API, user name, password, and signature. Now how do you get these? Let me show you. I'm over here on my PayPal page, my account, and right here, I'm going to go over to the account settings. Okay? And then here you will see API axis. I'm going to click on update for the API access and invite. Here you will see where you have NVP, Ford slash soap, manage apec credentials. I'm going to click in there. Now, I'm not entirely sure if you're going to see the exact same thing as I'm seeing right now because I already have an API certificate with the username, password and all that. So you might say something like request API certificate or request APA API access. I'm not entirely sure. But unfortunately, I can't create a new business account with PayPal because it's just way too much of a hassle. But you will see something like that down here. Simply click on Request API access and then follow the steps. And then you will be provided with a, with an API username and a password, just like what I have over here. So you're going to grab the username and password. You come over here and in period for delivery pays in him. And then the live APA password, you save the changes and you should be good to go. But I would recommend that you first of all try accepting PayPal payments without the need for the live EPA's in them a password and then see if it works or not. And then if it doesn't work, you can try going for the API access by adding your username and password. So that's it for PayPal. Now, as for stripe, I'll recommend that you install the plugin provided by Woo Commerce themselves. You can simply go to CMS.com forward slash products, forward slash stripe. And you can get the plugin for free when you install and you activate the plugin. When you go back to welcome us payments, you will now see several options for stripe. Over here we're going to focus on the main one, which is tribe credit card stripe. I'm gonna click on Setup. And then right here I'm going to enable stripe. Over here. I am going to uncheck this box for testament because we actually want to accept real payments. So I'll check this one. And now you're going to need the life publishable key, the secret key, and the web hooks secret. Now how do you get these? You're gonna create your account with strep offers you must have an McCandless tribe. And then when you log into your strap account over here on the left, you will see developers. You want to click on API keys. And now you will see a publishable key for you as well as a secret key. And I'm going to go ahead now and simply copy. First of all, the publishable key. I'm going to come in here, I'm going to paste that. Then I'm also going to grab the secret key. Let me copy, come over here, paste that. And now for the web hook secret, what you're gonna do here is this. You want to come over here to web hooks. And okay, so I'm gonna click on the web hooks. And then from here you're going to click on add an endpoint. So I'm going to click on add endpoints. And now you'll have to attach a URL in here. It's going to be the one right here, the web hook endpoints, you will see it up here. So I'm gonna grab this guy. Then a copy that one, come over here. And then I'm going to paste it. And then I'm simply going to select certain events, all notifications that you receive when certain things happen. So as an example, I like to go with the order. Whenever an order is created, I want to receive the notification. And then I also like going with the charge as well when it charge has been captured, let me receive notification. When it charged failed literacy, the notification Emily charge was refunded as well. These are the ones that typically typically lead to receive notifications for. But you can get notifications for different kinds of events. And I'm gonna go ahead and I'll click on Add the endpoint. And there you go. So from here, you will now see this sign in secret. You can click in it to reveal the secret. You can now copy this secrets. Then come over here. And then when you have the web hooks up with simply paste that and then save your changes. And there you go. So now it says your settings have been saved. So that's how you can configure both PayPal and stripe on the web. So thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 31. Creating our Custom Membership Plans Page: Oil come back. So now that we've successfully created our membership plans as products, it is now time for us to display them on our website. But how are we going to do this? Now? Before we do so, let's take a look at the pages that we currently have. And there are two pages that we need to get rid of. The first one here is going to be the membership levels page. Let's view that one. And let's also view the shop page cre ated by war commas. So currently, these two pages will display the memberships as products. Actually, the shop page will display the membership plans as products right here. But then the membership levels page will display the number ships as memberships basically is again c, right? So since we're going to create our own costume page for displaying the membership levels. It is best that we get VDD over these two pages because we don't need them. So check this out and I'm gonna go over to pages. And as you can imagine, I'm going to trash the shop page. And I'm also going to trash give them a ship levels page as well because we're going to create something much, much better. Okay, I'm gonna click on Add New. And let's call this very simply membership plans. Okay? And then of course, in here I'm gonna go with the no sidebars. And we can also disable. Actually, when I got to disable the content title, let's display the title for the page. I'm going to go ahead now and hit publish. And of course I'm gonna go ahead and edit with elemental. So on this page, we're going to display the two membership levels that we have been. In addition to that, we are going to compare both of them. But here we are going to show the user why the golden ratio plan is better than the standard membership plan. But first things first, let's drag a text editor. And in here I'm going to say below, you will see the comparison between our two member ship plan. Okay? Alright, so how did we do this? Well, thanks to the add-on Whitley installed with elemental, we have access to a very, very powerful element. And that element is going to be the one down here where you have the pricing table. So I'm going to actually, before we do that, I'm sorry, before we do that, since it's going to be two columns, let's do the inner section element first, let's add that. And now we can go back to the element for the present table. So I'm going to click drag and I'm going to drop it in here. And there you go. So right now we have start-up, but we can of course change the tassel inhere from startup to standard. Okay? Now you have access to, to price in styles. You have the default and then you have pricing style too, to be honest, I do prefers presence Taiwan. So I'll just stick with defaults. So right here, I'll be can change from price, but now we can change the price form in 199999. And of course it is in dollars. It's going to be per month. So that's fine. And now feature, this is where we can now begin to add the features that will be available for the standard membership plan, as well as those that may not be available. So I do have a few in here that I've written down, so let me remove all these ones. First of all, the first one here is going to be, of course, markets in articles. Of course, yes. And then I will add another item. We have the taxes articles. Okay. And now let's try indicating that hay, with the standard plan, you will not have access to the finance articles. So how are we going to do is I'm going to add a new item. Of course I'll change this one to finance articles, but now we're going to change the symbol from the checkmark. Right here. Am I good to say multiply? Multiplied what times? I'm sorry, times. And it's good to be the warning vide here. So I'm going to choose that. Let's insert that one. But of course we need to change the color from green to red because it's a negative. So right here you have the icon color. So I'm gonna click in here. And of course I can choose the custom color, which will be our accent. And okay, there you go. So it took a while for the call to change for some reason, but now you can see it's in red. You could also do this one where you will have a line going across the feature. So you can simply turn off the item active if you like, this particular style, but I'm gonna keep it turned on. And there you go. So what I'm gonna do right now is I'm going to pause the video. I'm going to add some additional features that will be available for the standard plan, so I'll resume once I've added them. All right, so welcome back to the consumer it now I've added some additional features. Sales articles is not available exclusively. Facebook group is available and then personal coaching is not available with the standard plan. So finally, for the bottom cells essays choose plan. We wanted so that when users click on this link rated to choose plan, it will take them to the product page. For the membership plants or the product page, we can go about two products right here. And we can go to view for standard. So I'm going to go ahead now and grab every Actually you don't even need to grab everything. You can grab everything before or after your URL. So starting from the fourth slash product and then those tiny membership, I'm gonna grab this. I'm gonna go back in here. And then for the link, we're gonna go to button and then wait here, button link. I'm going to remove the hashtag and, and paste the link right there. And there you go. Alright, so that's it for standard, but check this out, okay, I can simply right-click on the Columbia idea and then duplicates. And then it will now have the second column, which you can now modify to gold. Outers delete the third column right here. And of course I'm going to come in here right now and simply modify everything. So I'm going to pause the video once again and resume ones. I have modified the second column to match that of the gold membership plan. Well, come back as you can see right now, I have modified the second column to match that of the gold membership plan. And there you go. I'm gonna go ahead now and updates and lost. So now we can display the link to this page and our main menu. So let's go over to the back end. And I'm gonna come over here to Appearance Menus. Of course I'm going to choose the main menu. Let's select that one. Okay, so, okay, so now it's turned as a hey, there's some invalid many items because we deleted this pages. So let's just go ahead and remove that one. And then you go i'd so membership plans, I'm gonna go ahead now and add to menu. And we can simply drag and then shrub This just above the contact page. And we can also make this available to everyone whether you're logged in or logged out. Let's go ahead now save the menu. Let's go over to the front page. Now we have a membership plans page. You click in there. And now we have a membership plans. You click on Choose plan of ICT here it takes you to the product page for the standard membership. And of course right here you click on Choose plan for gold. It takes you to the page for the gold membership product. So that's it through successfully created our membership plans page and now displaying on membership as products German event, it's very available and I'll clean up the Walker must pages for our products. I'll see you then. 32. Modifying the Blog Pages: I want us to take some time out to modify the way our blog posts will be displayed. And by default, what you have here is when you click on an individual article, you're going to basically have the featured image on the left as well as the content. And then on the light you will have three widget areas. By default. You have the search bar, Recent Posts, and then we send comments. Now from the customize and of the giant Janet Press theme. There are some things you do, you can actually change if you go over to layout. And then he came over here to sidebars. And then you help block sidebar layout. In here you can modify how your blog pages would look like. So this is the actual blog page. We're taking a look at it right now. The one that will display all the posts on the general content. So you can decide to go with, let's say sidebar and then the content. So for this particular kind of page, you'll have the same bond left and then content on the right. Again, please note that this particular structure is for the archive pages. So the blog page, category page for finance, for example, it'll be the exact same kind of structure. You will have the articles on the rights and then the sidebar on the left. You could also decide to go with sidebar, content, sidebar, you'll have to sidebars and then it content in the middle. Although to be honest with you, this is a very, very common and this only works if you actually have like a foo with kind of website. Personally, I wouldn't recommend sidebar content site, but I'll recommend that you just stick with the traditional our content. And then side by thickness is much better. But then you could also control the structure for the individual blog articles. For example, directly here on ten tax mistakes to avoid. Right here you have single post cyber law. This is where you can control the layout for your individual articles. So again, you can say, alright, look, I don't want any sidebars litigious be full width. You could do this if you want to. Or again, you have your sidebar, Sidebar Content, you have your content sidebar, sidebar, Sidebar Content sidebar, and so on and so forth. So it's really entirely up to you to decide how you want the layout to be for your archive pages as well as your individual single post pages. In addition to this, if you go over to your actual backend and then you go over to appearance widgets. Right here. This is where you can control the widgets that you want to display on your bike, on the light side by if you're using it or on your left sidebar if you want to use the left side by everything in, is in here are for you to the site. So on the left, right here you have access to a wide variety of widgets and it works exactly the same way as you would on any other Walker's website. You simply click and drag whatever did you want to display from left over to the right. So it's entirely up to you to decide how best do you want to display the content on your archive pages as well as your blog pages. So that's it. Thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 33. Creating the Contact Page: Let's quickly build out the contact page and I'm gonna make use of this plugin called contact form by WP Forms and it's free for you to use. So please go ahead install, activate the plugin. Now when you do the same, you will see that the WP Forms link right here. Just click on add new. And here let's just added the name. So I'm just going to call this the contact form. And we can choose a template. And I'll just go with the critters simple contact form template to write here. Click in there. And this will take us to the backend, will be can modifying the actual form itself. So by default you have the name first and last, you have the email field, and then you have the message field itself. You could just say to modify the individual fields. So when you click on name, for example, are right here. You could change the label if you want to. You could also change the format. I personally prefer simple. But again, this is entirely subjective. You can go with the force Last, First middle-class, but I'll go with the simple. And yeah, you could click on email inhalers. Well, change the liberal if you want to. Of course you want to email filter be required. So required is checked by default. You could enable email confirmation as well so that they type in their email twice just to make sure to not make it any mistakes. And again, entirely subjective. It's up to you to decide if you want to do that. And that said if you want, if you want to add more fields, you're gonna come down here to fields and then RP, click on Add Fields and vita, you'll have access to things like checkboxes, drop-down, multiple choice. Unfortunately, the offensive fuels here are only available with the paid version of the plugin. But again, at the end of the day, if you're looking for a very simple contact form, there's plug-in, does the job. So that's it for the fields on the sets ends. Right here. If you're working with CSS, you can add your CSS classes inherit as well. You can modify the submit button text if you want to. You go over to notifications and inviting. You can choose OK. Which images would be, will the contact form be sent to when it's filled out? By default, the plugin will take the admin email. So you can modify your email subject the from name, the from email. You have everything in here. And of course by default, the actual message of the contact form will include all the fields. So the person's name, email address, as well as the message. And then you also have the conformations like ok. All will happen once somebody has filled out the form. There are three things you can do in here. You can either decide to show a message which would be, you know, thanks for contact and those will be in touch with you shortly. You can modify this of course, or you can decide to show a page. You might have like a special thank-you page. They've got it specifically for people who fill out the contact form. So my care, you will choose that page or you could simply redirect them to another page or another link for one reason or the other. I'm going to stick with the default message end. Before message in here is perfectly fine. And that's it. I'm going to go ahead now and hit Save. And there you go. Alright, so how do we now display the form itself? Well, I'm going to head over to the back. End, can enclose this. And I can actually close this. Although if you go to all forms, you will now see the name of your form. And you can also see the short code with which you can use to display the form. But we don't need to use the shortcut because we have elemental. So I'm going to refresh the contact page. And let's actually go to the backend. First of all, because honestly we don't need to display a sidebar on the contact page. So right here, I'm going to choose the no sidebars layout. I'm going to disable the title as well. Let's updates. And now let's click on edit with elemental. And just like before, again, you will have access to all your elements on the left. You can decide to add a text editor. So I can add something like this and say, you know, if if you would like to contact us, please feel the form blow and they'd go. So for the form itself, thanks to the ad on Plugin for elemental, right here you will see that we have the form or the element specifically for WP Forms. And it's going to be down here. So you see you have DWB forms element. You can simply click drag Jupiter inside here. And now from here, you can choose the form. I'm choosing the contact form. And there you go. I'm gonna choose to hide the title. And that's, you know, that's, that's pretty much all we need to do. We can centralize this text actually to make it look a bit better. So let me centralized attacks go to style, align to the centre. And there you go. We can even change the text to make it a bit bigger so we can highlight all of this. Make this an H3, you know, make it a bit more bold and bigger. And there you go. You can, of course, Penn wartime modifying the contact page. You can add an image, you can add a video, you can add whatever you want to add with elemental. But I'm just gonna stick with the So there you go. I'm gonna go ahead now and view the page. And you go a very, very simple contact form we've been displayed and less. Imagine somebody's going to actually fill out the form. And I'm going to say Hello, I have a question. Let's hit submit. And we should get that message saying thank you for contact knows. Okay, so there you go. This is the message. Thank you for thanks for contact and those will be in touch with you shortly. And as you can see right now, the contact form plugin those walk. So that's how to create the contact page using the WP Forms Contact plugin. Thank you for watching and we'll see in the next class. 34. Creating our Membership Plans as Products: Alright, so now that we've installed wolf Hamas on our website, it is now time to integrate the memberships plug-in with glaucoma so we can sell our memberships as Woo Commerce products. Well, before we can do that, we do need to install an add-on. So I'm gonna come down here to memberships, go to add ons. And the item we're looking for is the worn down here called the paid memberships pull Woo Commerce add on. I'm going to click on install now. And let's install the plugin. So, and there you go. Alright, CSA successful installed a plugin. I'm gonna go ahead now to activate the plugin. And you'll see how the plugin walks in just a second. But first, we're going to come over here to Woo Commerce now and then wedges on the commercial soup products. Let's click on add new. So right here, product name, I'm gonna call this standard membership. Ok. And then description. This membership plan will give you access to marketing and taxes articles that may make moccasin capital M. Alright, so there's membership plan will give you access to a marketing and taxes articles. And I'll also say, as well as a special invitation to exclusive facebook group. Ok. So I'm gonna copy this and I'm going to paste it down here all over again for the short description. Now right here on the right, I do have the put image. I have provided this. So look for it right here. It's the standard membership. And we're going to insert that one. And there you go. Alright? So we have a lot price here is going to be, I believe it's 989. It's not on sale. For log data. We're going to stick with the simple political, not changing it to a good product or anything like that. We're just going to keep it simple products. We can go with virtual as well because it is a virtual productively. And now down here, because we've installed the add on, you will see the membership link, you click on membership. And now this will, will integrate the standard membership with this particular product. Ok, so there you go. Now, in another scenario, if you had multiple memberships and you wanted to offer the price CIA membership lens to all the members and the law plans right here, you can offer them discounts. Okay. So you can offer exclusive member discount prices for standard the machine, gold membership, platinum membership, things like that. You have the ability to do that right here. Okay, I'm gonna go ahead now and just hit publish. And there you go. Let's do that one more time. For the gold membership. Gold membership, i'm going to paste the exact same thing. But I'll, I'll inhale, see to all to all our premium articles as well as especially amputations for exclusive Facebook group. Okay, let's choose our image. Gold. Let me copy all of this. Let's come down here. Paste thought won. The regular price is virtual, the globe price is 1999. Membership here was going to be gold membership, publish. And there you go. So we now have our two products and you can also view the product as well. You click in there. And this is going to be the product page for gold membership and a1 are down here. You have the description, you have very little products as well, but that's it. So we have successfully created our membership plans as Woo Commerce products or Germany. The next video where we'll now modify how the splits will be displayed on our website. 35. Important Update: Welcome back. Hope you've been enjoying the course thus far and believe it or not, at this point, we now have a fully functional membership website we've built on the homepage, we built out the contact page. We've set it up so that users can enroll in different membership plans. We have our payment gateways created. We've also fixed it so that the navigational menu will change depending on whether or not a user is logged in or logged out. The only thing we haven't done is we haven't built an About page. But I'm going to give that to you as an assignment at this point, you know how to use elemental. You can use your elements to add an image, add your content, things like that. So think of the About page as an assignment for you to walk on. Now, with that being said, we have come to a very, very important point where it's up to you to decide whether or not you are happy with the paid memberships, poor plugin, or you want to integrate commerce. Now why would you want to integrate Woo Commerce? Well, the biggest disadvantage of using the PID memberships poor plug in is the fact that you have access to only one payment gateway. Like you can only choose either stripe or PayPal. It's often said that you should offer as much flexibility as possible to your members if they have more options to make payments the beds out. I think that makes perfect sense. So if you're only going to offer them the option to pay either with PayPal all its tripe. It might be a bit of a negative, but in all honesty, I don't know how important it really is that you have multiple payment gateways on your website. If that is the case, if you feel like, yeah, you know what? I want to have multiple options, then that's where Woo Commerce will come into play because we'd welcome as you can create multiple payment gateways and the plug-ins are actually free. You don't have to pay for them with the Pinto mashups pool plug-in if you want to add an additional payment gateway, select PayPal. So let's say for example, you've chosen strip to be your default gateway and you want to add PayPal, you will have to pay for it. And from my understanding right here, you can't even goes by specifically the PayPal add-on. You'll have to buy the membership level, which is actually about $287 per year. So it can be a bit expensive, but if you're making money, for me membership website, this might be worth taking a look at because you have access to show many other additional add-ons that can really, really further boosted functionality of membership website. So another one I found out here, which is part of the paid add ons is the auto renewal checkbox at Membership checkout where a user can choose to enable the auto renewal. So I've every month their credit card will get charged for the membership. So you do have access to a lot of really, really, really good add-ons. I'll encourage you to take a look at them. But if you don't want to pay the money, you're gonna pay $300 a year for the additional atoms, then you're going to need commas. The disadvantage of using will come us is that it's going to get a little bit messy. Because now you're combining the pavement matrix through a plug-in and Hamas now there is an add on that integrates both of them. But there are still so many things that you're going to have to take. Because for example, when you install the Piton worship school plug-in equated all these membership icon pages for loss. Membership check Howard membership council membership billion. When you walk with WorldCom has will come us will also create pages like this. So you're really going to have to set it up so that your users don't get confused when they're looking at a page created by the memberships plug-in and when diluted at another page. Could it by Wu commas? So it is a little bit messy and in all honesty, in all honesty, I would highly encourage you to, first of all, stick with the free version of the PID memberships, poor plug-in. Choose one coming gateway, possibly PayPal because PayPal is the most papilla. And then if you feel like you know what? You are having members complaining, you have people saying, hey, you know, can you offer another payment gateway, you know, we don't like PayPal, then that's when you can begin to consider using either will come at us all. The premium pick memberships, pull add-ons. If you have the money, I would have encouraged to go with the pin memberships pull auction, which is $300 a year. You will have access to so many additional add-ons that would really boosted functionality. But it's also going to be a lot cleaner. Trust me, when I see them going, the leukemias Vout is gonna get a little bit messy, but nevertheless, I have taken the pains to create a series of videos for you on how to use Wu commas if you do want to use Woo Commerce, it's also possible that you might be building this website for another person who wants to use Wu comma. So the next few videos, I'm going to show you how you can integrate will come and say can walk with Woo Commerce on your membership site. Let me quickly mention that if you're stick in, but they paid me meshes to a plug and you're not using welcome us. Please do clean up the pages created by the plugin. So for example, membership invoice. What you wanna clean up here is going to be the sidebars. All this Piggies don't need sidebar so you simply click on the page. You go to Edit page, and then you go over here to the layout on the right. So enter, you simply choose no sidebars. Update, and that's it. I really want you to do that for all of the pages because honestly, all it is kinda pages don't need sidebars. Just Ghoul, full-width display, what needs to be displayed and forget about the side buzz. So that's that. So one of the things I should mention is that we're not entirely done with these partnerships pool plugin section. Further down into curriculum, you will find a plug-in that I talk about, which is the own canny ultimate or plug-in. It's a plug-in that will walk perfectly if you use independent mashups for plug and exclusively or even if you're using will come us. So if you've decided that you know gonna use will come us, please do watch the video down in the curriculum where I took about the uncanny ultimately plugging into plugin that you can use to create automations, which would work perfectly and superbly on your membership website. So hopefully I've been able to give you some clarity as to what's going on moving forward. If you have any questions, of course we tell to me lemme know whatever questions you might have if you're confused, do let me know before you decide to proceed with the course. So that been said. Yeah, you continue watching the newcomers videos all you simply skip to depart Gray, I introduce you to the uncanny automata plug-in. That's a thank you for watching and let's continue on with the rest of the course. 36. WooCommerce Clean Up: All right, so let's go ahead to clean out the Wacom AS pages and content on a website. And I'm talking specifically about the three pages created by welcome us, which are the My Account page, the cart page, and then the checkout page. The problem with these three pages is that they do have the sidebar on the right. And ideally, you want to have these kinds of pages go full width. There is no need for them to have a side bar. So very quickly I'm going to go ahead now and simply disable the sidebars on all these three pages. So I'm gonna come down here to sidebar layout. And we're gonna choose no sidebars updates. Let's close the page. Let's go over to the cart page as well. Do the exact same thing. No sidebars, update. And then last but not least, we do have the My Account page. I'm gonna come down here and I'm going to say no sidebars and then abates. Okay, the next thing we're gonna do is we are going to create a category for our premium memberships and you'll see why in just a second. But basically on the products I'm going to click on add new. I'm sorry, not ADNI put up on the add new categories. Look good to categories. Excuse me. So categories in here, I'm going to call this one premium. Okay? And I'm going to add that as a category. And then let's go over to our products. And right here we can do a very quick edit and I'm going to choose the premium category for the gold membership. And then standard membership again, I'm going to Quick Edit and I'm going to choose the pyramid category for our standard membership as well. Okay, we're moving on. Next thing right now is to go to the actual Customize page for the theme. So let's click on Customize right here in the toolbar. And from here we're gonna go over to the Wacom us link down here. Let's click on walk Hamas and offer. It's right here where you have the checkout. Let's remove the company named filled. You don't need these kinds of fields when your buyers or chicken or there is no need for it. So let's go ahead and simply hide the Company Name field and then the phone field as well. This should not be a thin. There is no reason for your customers or members to provide their phone numbers. If you have a particular reason why you wanted a phone numbers by all means, you can ask them for their phone number, but if you don't need it, just hide it. Okay. So let's go ahead and hide the form filled. And there you go. So all we're going to have right now will be the first last name countries to address town, city, and then the state zipCode and email. I think that's perfectly fine. I'm gonna go ahead now and publish this changes. And now let's go over to our backend. Once again. I'm gonna come down here to welcome us. Let's go to settings. And then just like we did memberships, pool plug-in with Woo Commerce, you can also send out emails depending on certain things that happen. So under emails right here, you can see the various kinds of scenarios when a new order has created, when an otherwise canceled and you can see the recipients, the first three would be for you, the admin, and then the rest right here of for the customer, the kinds of e-mails that a customer would receive when they've either in or maybe made a purchase if they've had a we found if they're competent there or there and so on. So to edit any of these, you can either click on the link right here or click on manage over here. And then from here, you know, you can modify the subjects, you can modify the email heading, and you can also add some additional content as well. Now, if for one reason you don't want to send out these kinds of emails, you do have the checkbox flight here, disable this particular kinds of email notifications. Now, we're not done with removing side bars from pages because if we go over to our products and we view them, let's say for example, we view the gold membership right here. When you view the page, you will see that we also have sidebars here as well. So we do need to remove this sidebars from a product pages also. So I'm going to edit products, come down here. And then where you have the layout. Just up here. I'm going to choose no sidebars for the layout. Let's update. And then I'm gonna do the exact same thing for the standard membership as well. Let's click on edit. And we're gonna come down here and then choose no sidebars, updates. And there you go. Okay, so I'm gonna go over to the front end right now and let me try to buy the gold membership plan. I wanna show you something real quick. So I've chosen to plan. So right here, you can see now that we have home for slush premium forward slash gold membership, this looks way better than having on categorized and then forward slash gold membership. So this is the reason why I chose to create a category called premium for our membership plants, it just looks so much better even if down here as well, you can see it says our category premium, so is much, much better than having our own categorized category. So that's basically OSC cleaning up our Woo Commerce pages. Thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 37. Working with the Uncanny Automator Plugin: Let's talk about a very powerful automation plug-in that can truly enhance the functionality of your membership site. And I'm talking about the uncanny automate or by own Canny out. Now the reason why I wanted to talk about this plugin is because with this plug-in, you have the ability to send out customized emails to the different members on your different membership levels. So as it is right now, whether you're using Woo Commerce or you're using the memberships plug-in. The email's been sent out are very generic, right? Somebody buys a measure plan, you send out an email and them saying, Oh, thank you for buying this particular plan and stuff like that. But you don't really have the ability to be very specific. So say for example, you wanted to send out an email specifically from the most who by the standard membership plan. How can you do that? What if you wanted to send out a follow-up email to customers who buy the gold membership plant. How would you do that? This plugin can allow you to do that and so much more. It's free. There is a paid version, which is also a very, very powerful, but the free version can do some really cool things. So please go ahead download, install, Activate Plugin. And when you do that, you will see the automations link right here automate all. So the way it works is that you will have triggers and then actions. So a trigger is basically what should start the automation and then an action is okay, what actually happens when the automation runs? Now, you can see right now that we have been asked to select an integration, and that's because this plugin can integrate with so many other plugins. You can sit em right here. You can integrate this plug-in with all these other plug-ins. It's truly amazing. So because we've already installed the paid memberships poor plugin, I have will come as I have walkers, I have WP forms. These are the four that we can integrate with the plug-in. Now there is the automates or core, which we will talk about in just a second. But let's do something. Okay. Let's say we wanted to send out an email, a very special e-mail to members who buy the gold membership plants and maybe wanted to say, thank you so much for buying the gold membership plan. This plan has this, it has that. Here are the links for you to do this, blah, blah, blah, you know, stuff like that. So we're going to add a title for this automation. So let's say user buys gold membership. Ok, user buys gold membership. Now, right here, it all depends on whether or not you are selling your membership plants with the paid memberships per plug-in. Or if a GUI with woke Hamas, if you're going with will come us, you simply click on Wu commas and then right here you choose a user purchases a product. And then right here you can then choose gold membership and then simply click on Save, ok. But if you're going with Pinto ships wave. If you're saline your membership plans without using Walker mouse, you click on paid membership plans and an advisor, you say a user purchases a membership and enlighten you choose the gold membership and then you save. Okay? Now, this is the trigger. So what happens when a user has actually purchased the gold membership? Right here on the actions, I'm going to click on Add action. I'm gonna go to WordPress and invited or scroll down. Send an email. Okay, so you click send an email and an advisor, you can modify the from tow and then divide here, you can add a customized subjects so you can say thank you. Or let us say gold is gold. But am I saying? Let's let's just say thank you. Thank you. Full this membership plan. Member membership plan. Okay. So right here, you can add like a very customized kind of email in and explain why the gold membership plan is the best and what you'll USA has gained by buying the plan, you know, things like that. So I'll just say thank you. Alright, just as an example, okay, thank you. And now click on save. And there you go. So make sure that once you have these two right here, you want to turn it on, make this trigger live and invite you as well. Make the action live. So this two, and then finally right here, make the recipe life. So when you have a trigger and an action, it becomes a recipe. So obviously, if I go back to all recipes, now you can see we had recipe that says user buys gold membership. Now, check this out. If I wanted to add another recipe, I can say that, okay, let's add a title. Let's imagine that once the user has bought the gold membership plan, we wanted to change their role from that of a gold member to maybe an admin, just as an example. Okay. I know I'm going beyond what you would normally do on your membership per se, but I really want to show you the power of this plugin. So in this case right now let's just say the title is make user admin, just as an example. Okay, so I'm going to choose the automated call now because we already have a recipe. So I'm gonna click on User complexly recipe, which is of course the one we just created called user buys gold membership. I'm gonna click on Save. So now that a user has bought the gold membership plan, they've received the email. Let us now change their role. So I'm gonna go to Actions, click on WordPress right here. And then here we can now change the users will to a new level. I'm going to click in there, and now I can choose whatever will maybe make them an admin and click on save. And there you go. This of course, is something that you would not do, but I'm just trying to give you a different examples of what you can do with this plugin. So for your membership plan, you definitely wanna create customized emails for each of your membership plans. And then you do have a wide variety of things you can do besides a user binding Mimosa plant. So let me just delete these real quick. So let's go back to pay membership plan for example. So you can select a trigger for when a USA counsels the membership, when ESA subscription to membership has expired. And if you're using wolf Hamas, you have other ones as well. What happens when a user views a products? Can you imagine that? Let's say for example, you had a user who is on the standard membership plan. But then they viewed the gold mushy plan but did not buy it. You can send them an email saying, hey, you know, we noticed that you, you are checking out the golden Ownership Plan. You might want to have good because you know, when you buy legal ownership plan, you'll get access to all our articles, things like that. So you can do a lot of really cool automations with this particular plugged the book. At the very least, I would encourage you to create customized emails for when the user buys your membership plan, when the membership is expiring, or if they choose to cancel a membership. I think those three those three kinds of e-mails would really help for the boosts revenue and help you retain as minimum as, as you can own your membership website. But that's how the uncanny ultimate or plug-in works. Thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 38. Final Test: All right, so now that we're done, setting up will come us on our website. It is now time for us to learn one more test where a non-member will try to purchase a membership and then we'll see whether he can be successful, whether he will receive the emails with his credentials, things like that. We're also going to test out the automates all plugin. I have created a recipe here, and it's the bond from the previous video, although I've changed the trigger to integrate with Woo Commerce as opposed to paid membership pro plugin. So basically the idea here is that once a user buys the goldman much ship via will come us, they will receive an email. And here is the radius in. Thank you. The governorship will give you full access, yada, yada, stuff like that. So let's test all of these and let's see what actually happen. So I'm gonna open up a new browser right here, and let's go over to membership plans. And I'm going to add the gold membership plan to are caught. Let's go ahead now and proceed to checkout. And okay, so I'm going to provide my name. My name is James Bond and my street address is going to be London. 653. Towns city is going to be Owings Mills, state, Alabama, zip code to W 077. Okay. Email address 13 at gmail.com. Okay. So we do have the stripe payment gateway all setup for testing. So I'm gonna grab the credit card number pastes. Let's add September 23. Can't code below seven. Now I'm gonna go ahead and to place the order. And let's see what is going to happen. This might this might take a few additional seconds. Okay, so there you go. Order has been received. Awesome. Now, if we go over to our back end, if I come down here to welcome us orders, you will see that the order by James Bond has been made, as you can see. So I also want to show you something else. I'm gonna go over to users. And white here you can see that the James Bond user account has been created. How ever? Pay very close attention to the role. Right here. The wall here says costumer. It doesn't say Gold number, shape, or standard membership. It says customer. As such. Now that James Bond has been logged in, if he goes to the front page right here, notice he can't access the premium content. The tab isn't showing. That's because remember we said that the PML condense should only be available to an admin. A standard membership user or a gold membership user costumer was, wasn't among those. So right now, James cannot see the premium content and invite you to if he goes to his membership account and he clicks on TO file. Okay. He can see this, but if it goes to membership invoice, he says no inverse is found. If it goes to membership confirmation, it says right here, you do not have an active membership. So what exactly is going on here? Well, we're going to have to convert. James says role from that of costumer to that of a Gold Member. Now, I also want to show you James's email because he got an email via walk Hamas in hydrogens bond. Your account has been created. So he does have his username and his password, so walker mass has taken care of what it needs to do. But what about the membership plug-in and what about the automata plug? And remember we set up an automated so that James should receive another email thanking them, especially for purchasing the gold membership plan. Well, we need to do is we need to go back here. And what's happening is that we need to convert costumer role to that of a gold member. And how do you do that? You have to go back to welcome us goods, your orders, and invited say's processing. These has to say complete head before the memberships pro plugin will kick in and then the ultimate tool will also send the email. So these has to be completed. If it's not completed, the automation will not long and Jim's will not have access to the premium articles as well. So you have to click inside here. And then right here where it says processing goto completed and then update. The fan is you most likely won't have to do this if you're running the wheel strapping gateway, most of the time it will just say completed, you won't have you won't say anything like processing with PayPal. It can be iffy sometimes most of the time that it will say completed. But on the few occasions where it says processing or you will have to manually approved so that distance becomes completed. So now that we've completed James's payment, if we go back to users, notice now that James's account or role has now changed from that of costumer to gold membership. And now if James, if we refresh the page right here, now you can see we james it now says, okay, you have access to the golden Ownership Plan. Jim can now also access the premium content tab and you can view all the premium content on their taxes and so on and so forth. So you have to be very, very careful with the walls of your users. Make sure that once they've made a payment, it says completed and not processing. And then it right here, look at James's Jim Ally counts, you can see it says, your bees academic Oda has been received, that was before. But now because we've changed the process to completed, will come us now says your base Academy order is now complete and now here is the special e-mail sent by the all tomato plug and thanking James for buying the membership plan. So there you have it. Everything is now working as it should. Users can buy memberships that will gain access to premium content. And of course, we will come up as working behind the scenes. We have the ultimate of plugins, sending out automations and emails, and there you go. So make sure you wanted this test and make sure that your test users are able to have access to the premium content and just make sure everything is running smoothly as it should. So that's a thank you for watching. I will see you in the next class. 39. Round Up: So now that we're pretty much at the end of the course, it's important for you to go over your entire website. Make sure all the links, your buttons, and so on. Make sure they all point to the right dimension. You don't have any broken links and you want to make sure all your buttons actually work. Make sure you've added all the necessary restrictions to hold your premium content. But most importantly, make sure the links in your main navigational menu actually work in C. Right now, I am logged in as James from the previous video. And right here, if I go to membership confirmation and I go to view EV your membership accounts, right here you have this link saying, Hey, view all membership options. If you click in here, guess what you're going to have. Oops, that page can't be found. The reason why this is happening is because before remember when we trashed, trashed two pages, we traverse the shop page by a Woo Commerce and then we also trashed the membership levels page created by the paid membership poor plugin. So what you wanna do is you want to go back and you go to your pages, go to your trash. And simply, we store this page. So membership levels, national levels page, you want to install this page back if you've completed littered, if you pitch completely, don't worry. All you need to use those to create the page again and then simply paste this short code. Let me show you. This is a short code you just have to paste inside PHP MPI underscore levels. And that's so I'll make sure that the title of the page is membership levels, and that will be that. So that's all you really need to do. So I'm gonna go ahead now updates and also make sure that the sidebars had been removed from all these kinds of pages. You don't need sidebars are showing up on the profile pages of your customer. So if I go back in here and I refresh the page, oops, sorry about that. It's a broken link. Let's go back in here. Membership accounts, okay, So for me right now, view on membership options. Now you can see the membership levels page showing up and of course, there are no sidebars. So make sure all the links in your main navigational menu are actually working. There are some like the membership invoice because the customer bought the Goldman mushy via Wu commas. This plugin is not going to generate the invoice. You might as well remove this link from your main navigational menu. You don't need it. It's not seven any purpose. So that's it. Don't forget to quit your About page. Of course, you've learned how to use elemental at this point, so you can easily use elemental to quit your About page. And that is it's so yep, we're pretty much done it. And yeah, I'll see you next video. 40. Build a Membership Website Conclusion: All right, so that's it. We've pretty much come to the end of this section where we built ourselves the Bayes academy membership website. And from the bottom of my heart, I really do hope that you found this course really, really useful. Just before I go, I wanted to give you a few tips. Make sure that all your links are actually points in to the right pages. So for example, in your about bees academies section makes sure the button here points to the about page. Yeah, just make sure, you know, like for example, the free workshop link, make sure that it points to a video. Just make sure you don't have any broken links on your site and make sure that all your links, all your buttons point to actual, real pages that exist on your site. Also, don't forget that within membership website, your content is going to be the major driving source of revenue. You have to be creating really awesome content and even offering your members good articles, good content. They're gonna cancel their memberships and go elsewhere. So you wanna make it a priority to offer them good quality content that it would really find useful. And it's not just about content. You can also offer additional perks like, you know, access to an exclusive Facebook group. You can offer coaching calls, you can offer downloads, you can offer exclusive discounts to other kinds of products, things like that. So creating and managing a successful no measure website isn't just about content. Yes, content is really, really important, but there are other things that you can offer to your members besides our content. Now, when it comes to people that you can follow for advice, there is a website here called the membership guys.com, and I've been following them for quite some time now. It's actually a couple, a man and a woman. And if you pay close attention, you might notice that it's kind of similar in the design and yes, I did still the design of the website and it's yeah, I modelled our upset off of their own. So you will see that part of the sections in a very, very, very familiar. So I used their website as a, as a source of inspiration when I wanted to design our own particular membership website. But these guys really know their stuff and they do offer free articles that you read on, on how to create and go a successful membership website. They do have paid courses as well. They do have a podcast that you can listen to old Hayley and could you they encourage you to do so I have isn't if you're to podcasts, it's really, really good stuff. You can go to their blog page right here, and they have really good articles about membership websites, how to charge, how to create content out to offer additional benefits, things like that. So all it will encourage you to check them out. They really do have an awesome blog. So that's pretty much it for this particular section. Now, if this is where you're going to stop and you're not taking the other section where I show you how to build an academy with learned dash. Please do consider leaving a written review for this course if you found it useful, reviews do really helped me a lot. So please, if you found this course useful, do leave a review. And of course if you have any questions about anything we've covered in this section, in if you have any doubts, maybe you're confused. Of course. Do we tell to me, ask me questions? I'm more than happy to answer them as soon as I can't solve. If you're moving on to the next section where I build an academy using learned dash. I will see you there, but if this is where you're stopped, Ben, let me say thank you so much once again for being a student of mine. Thank you so much. I hope you found this course useful and all the very best with your membership website. Thank you.
