1. Intro: Welcome to the course. My name is David and I'm going to walk you through step one to step done, and how to properly structure your blog posts for optimal on-page SEO, I'm going to share with you everything that you need to know as a beginner to publish content online, I'm going to cover HTML markup language, adding videos and images effectively how to structure a specific paragraphs and use your header tags effectively. This course is perfect for anybody who is completely brand new to blogging and really needs a crash course in how to structure blogposts, publishing online, because blogging is not the same as publishing a paper for your English class, Biden has some specific things that you need to pay attention to in order to optimize your website for on-page SEO. So if you're ready, click that next video and I'll see you in the inside. 2. How to Create Content People Want: Create content that people are actually searching for. So the big secrets you don't need a high traffic blog is actually create content that people are looking for. I know it's not rocket science, but I see way too many beginner bloggers start blogs and kinda just wing it with the content. They kinda create content that they think people want, but they're not sure. Or they kinda just write about whatever they want that they think makes sense for the blog. And that's okay, but you really need to do a technical analysis through keyword research and content marketing to discover what kind of content people are actually looking for, and then to create the best in class content. Okay, That's it. And then you want to get that free search engine traffic and then convert that search engine traffic in some meaningful way. Whether it's email is signups, it says of affiliate products, you're running display ads on your website, whatever, for example, a grayer, how to create a professional business CMO. Like that's a keyword phrase that people wouldn't forth. That's why I wrote this blog post. Okay, I didn't just wing it and just create whatever I wanted. Now it's okay if you want to quote unquote way. That's what I do here on my personal blog where I just write about whatever I want. But if you wanted to do that, that's fine. But don't expect to get a lot of traffic, okay, you have to go after continent. People are looking for like best microphones for YouTube videos for example. Like that's something that people were actually typing in to Google. So let's get started. So let's start with a broad phrase. Okay, well actually let me just go to All right, here we are. So first things first, let me type in bee keeping, okay? All right. So you want to find, you want to type in a C word phrase that makes sense for your website, okay? So you should already know what your website is about and what your website is not about. So I just want to emphasize that too, because I see a lot of times people certainly can plug on teaching English in Japan and then they'll create a blog post. But like how to start a blog and why Bluehost is amazing. You know, that sort of thing. It's like no, it doesn't make sense for your website. So you got to stay in your lane is is all I'm saying. You know, you you should know like the three to four topics that are about what your websites about. So we're starting with a website, a blog on beekeeping. Here we go. We have beekeeping supplies, beekeeping for beginners, beekeeping equipment. And say, I like supplies and for beginners. So the ones that are like most relevant come up first. We'll say beekeeping supplies. Now right over here, is you want to use your professional judgment and take a look at the rankings, okay? And so it's a, okay, let's take a look at this. The number one ranking for Became and supplies is this website. And it's an e-commerce sites in it's really helpful and informative with specific products. And so again, does this make sense for me to write a blog post on this? It doesn't seem like this is what people want, because Google always wants to serve up the best in class constant, as I call it, for the specific keyword. Okay? So people were typing beekeeping supplies. They want to find a store to buy beekeeping supplies, et cetera. And so maybe this makes more sense to have it be a category on our website. Instead of it being a standalone blogposts, okay? And for that, we still need to kinda jump in and go into a little bit more detail. So here we go. We can click first off, you can click it again and take a look over here, beaking spliced in your meat. That's going to give us stores locate where we are, also be supplies. Okay. Beginning beginning beekeeping supply as a yeah. That's a little bit better. Okay. And so right here, great. Seven essential beekeeping, uh, coming in for that, every beginning of baba, blah, blah, blah, whatever it is. And so, okay, so there we go. So this is a piece of content and we can take a look at this and kind of see, is this a blog? It's kinda like a niche website like yeah, okay, this is definitely like a blog like what we're creating. Then take a look at it like can I beat this? Can it create better, better piece of content, this inside joke? Yeah, okay, so take note of that. So it's like, okay, essential beekeeping equipment. Okay, So if I have a website and beekeeping, boom, I'm definitely going to be taking note of this and be like, okay, this piece of content I'm going to create. Now, two other things I want to mention. You notice this section over here. This is from a plugin called Keywords Everywhere. It's literally called key words everywhere. Okay? And so you can just go ahead and install this on Chrome. It's a Chrome extension. And what it does, it just helps you figure out long-term phrases because for your content, you want to try and find questions to answer. You want to find specific Buying Guide secretes. So for example, like this is a helpful Buying Guide. But sometimes there's just be a question that people have. Like, like how much does it start? How much does it cost to start beekeeping? And so sometimes you're going to have to just create a piece of content for your website that maybe there's no way necessarily to profit from it, but it just makes sense for your website. And it's like, okay, great. So we come down here and be like, okay, how much does it cost us our beekeeping? Great. How do I start begging for beginners? Okay, so these two phrases are kinda similar. I could probably combine this into one. Can I keep bees in my backyard? How hard is it the starter beehive? All this stuff is gray. Here we go, a bunch of blog posts that we could potentially create. And so what you wanna do is like, okay, can I keep bees in my backyard? How hard is it? How hard is it to start a beehive? So we take that and again, we just begin the process. Okay, take a look. So beekeeping Insider, okay, boom, It's open up this and we have redder it there and perfect. Be like okay, it's another like looks like niche website and say, Yeah, great, So now I have another website and so, great. So take note of your competition. Okay, so here we go. Here's another blog. Here's another blog. Take note of like what content they have published, what they have published. You can piggyback on them a little bit. And so that's what you need to do as well. And so next with Keywords Everywhere was really helpful, right? Right here is like, how much work is beekeeping? How to start a beehive? Minecraft does that for us. But we come down here and scroll down. It's like, okay, how much does it cost us our beehive? All of these phrases are really helpful and I can be a great piece of content by itself. Again, you got to take a look and then you, maybe you can take a step back and think like, Does this makes sense for my website? Now if we come down here, right down here, we have more phrases that we can jump into. So how much does it cost to set up a beehive UK? Okay, so if I go here in the UK, that makes sense for your kinda creating a broader website that I would drop. The UK. Is beekeeping profitable? That's interesting, was opened up that. Okay, backyard beekeeping 101. Okay, and so a great down here. Let's see what other phrases that relate to this is honey bee keeping profitable out. That's a little bit more specific. And this is what, this is how you find content that people are searching for. And so you end up over time, you'll get a collection of your competition and what specific content they're creating that you could also create on. You can use Keywords Everywhere to find a long-tail phrases that I questions, specific buying guides know you just want to create a really helpful website that's comprehensive and specific topic. You can also come down here for people also asked and get phrases over here that you can kind of plug in and see if it makes sense for your website. And broadly speaking, that's kinda like how you approach keyword research to find specific block topics. So you can actually create content that people want. So you get that search engine rankings. So you can make, so you can earn money from running display ads for the marketing. Convert your traffic into an e-mail list, whatever it is you want to do with the specific block. And that's how you have to approach a specific professional blogging. Cuz that's what professional bloggers do. Like ASU, that's who you're up against when people were creating sites like this, person created backyard beekeeping one-to-one. Like, that's their goal. Their website is to create a comprehensive website and be keeping, okay, so whatever your essays about, you got to think about like, take a look at your competition. Do keyword research crepe the best in class content on the specific topic they are going after. And that's, that's, that's really all you need to know in order to get started with creating content for your blog. 3. URL structure and breadcrumbs: Next, let's briefly talk about the Euro structure for a blog post. So it's kind of a technical thing, but I personally recommend to structure blog posts like this. Typically you want to put all your blog post under slash blog. This typically I find is the best structure because it provides a nice site organization for your website. And so helps search engines crawl and understand your website better. And it's also just more helpful for visitors to your website. And so that's why I recommend you doing blog slash. Then the post title. Now, this is ideal if you're what's, it's going to be like maybe like 300 to 1000 blog post. This is good. But if you're going to be, like, if you think you're going to be building a massive website and you want to break it up then and maybe instead blog you. I maybe do the category than the post title if possible. And so also with the Euro structure to, you also want to use breadcrumbs when possible in breadcrumbs are really helpful for visitors because one, they know where they are on the website. Number two, it provides a nice internal linking to your specific categories in your homepage. So for example, like people can come to web scrape bro, they know where they are, web hosting, they click on this, then they're on a dedicated category page related to web hosting. And so boom, a little bit of content there and then they can just view whatever they want. Then also really helps the way the website appears in the search engines, help it and make it look a little bit more authoritative. So for example, like this, a block was added, Dakpo extension, any good, so we have blog slash, blog domain names. Reason that this is coming up like this is because I have breadcrumbs enabled. And so that's kinda like why it's important. Now, you know, it's not a disaster if you don't do it this way. This is just the way that I personally recommend like Neil Patel, for example, he uses the same format slash blog slash post title. But you can still have massive school says, like bucking that trend, you don't have to follow it. But if you're just starting out, I definitely recommend following that, that setup because I just wanted to show you someone who's like, in my opinion, doing everything wrong in terms of their URL structure. But they are still able to build a massive website, Making Sense of senses. Classic example, like she has the dates, like dates are good for news websites, but they're not appropriate for a blog because I know I didn't get a date in there. Then a very long page title and then a dot HTML insist dates, really bad. Then the long post title, long Euro structure, that's kind of irrelevant. Like you want to keep things short and sweet. So it's like what is web hosting? A complete beginners guide, page title or you are structure is what is web hosting? It's not. What is web hosting a complete beginners guide too long. Okay? And so someone else who does that too is like for example, Hrdy who's here on YouTube. Like he uses the standard like post title. So he doesn't structure everything under like a blog or category. It's just, it's just a very, very long gross structure which is like kinda clean that up a little bit. It's like how to make an affiliate marketing website that you can keep your real short and sweet when possible. But again, that's what I'm saying. Like, you know, she's had a massive excess 30s having very good success. And so it's just a best practice for your optimization, but you can get away with a bucking trans and not doing things, not doing every little thing, right. So just don't, I don't want you to worry like if you've already been blogging for a year and maybe you have this type of structure. Oh no, I have to change it. Don't change it. Okay. If your euro structures like this, just leave it okay. But if you're just starting out, definitely consider Having be slash blog slash the post title. And then if you think you're going to be building a massive website, like the way that penny hoarder is now like this we started out with like when the guy who started the penny hoarder start out, he had the same structure is 30 where it was just the post title. But this as I say, it has grown into being a full-time net multimillion dollar business. You know, they structure everything under the category than the post title because, you know, they just produce so much content that they need to do that type of structure. 4. Using Title Tags Correctly: So you writing the blog posts, make sure to use H2, H3, H4, et cetera, tags to break up the blogposts to make it readable, and also make it very scannable so someone can come on the site and kinda scan, scan the page really quickly and stop and read the thing that they want to read. Very important you do that by using H2, H3, H4 title tags in the correct way. So for example, this is my H1 tag. Your H1 is the title of your blogposts. Then you want to have H2 tags which break up the block goes into different sections, then you want to use H3 that breaks up subsections more appropriately. So for example, if we come down here and we come down here, this is each two types of web hosting. Then we have a broad overview about the types of web hosting shared Cloud, Virtual Private Server reseller dedicated. And this is an H3. Why? Because this is a subsection of this. Why is this H2? Because this is a subsection of this. And so you wanna make sure to use these H2, H3, H4 title tags when appropriate, break things up as appropriate and focus on making the blood pose is scannable as possible because not everybody is going to hit your blogposts and then they sit there and read. They're going to jump around like, you know how you think about how you act it on a webpage. You're going to scroll around and stop when you see some al-qaeda, was it actually, I don't know what cloud hosting is. Let me read this. Boom. And then they can get to the way the piece of content that they want. Whereas if you didn't use any type of like H2, H3 tags, it becomes very difficult to find the information that you want and it makes the bug was less readable unless scannable. 5. Paragraph Structure for Blogging: Brake paragraphs up. And so as you notice here, the way I structure any piece of content on this website and all the websites that I manage is that the blogposts are broken up. What I mean specifically means as like there's no massive wall of texts. You know, it's like it's like a short little paragraph, a short little paragraph space, then start a new paragraph. And you want each paragraph to be like a 32 to four sentences long in length, okay, and then you want to use whitespace because this with blogging, it's not writing an essay like you would for high school. And you want to break up content and use whitespace. Whitespace is your friend because it makes it easier to read for people. And it helps, that helps people focus on what's important. And a wall of text is just too dense and too difficult for people to enjoy reading it. Just breaking content up like this, like, like a little paragraph there. Break it up a little paragraph, little paragraph. I can make this into one massive paragraph and that would be appropriate if this was, say, like an essay that I was submitting. But this is not, this is a webpage in a blog. So you have to approach it a little bit differently than what you're taught in school. You don't want it, you don't have to follow the same rules that you learned as a kid. Breakup ganzen, I'm selling you break up content because what ends up happening is that people stay on the website longer and click things, then you'll make more money because they'll actually read your content and get value from it and then take action on this specific links that you have leveraged within the piece of content. 6. How to properly use images and video: Use images and videos to demonstrate stuff within your glucose. Okay, don't just add images just because you think it looks pretty like images should just intentionally be added to demonstrate them same with videos. Also, as you notice here, do I have a massive, gigantic image at the top of this blog post? I know why, because I want people to read the content. I don't want some gigantic feature image right here that pushes the content down. This helps people get into the sate and it helps designed to say a little bit better for mobile because you have to remember that people, more like 50 percent of my traffic for this website are people on their phone. And so you don't want some gigantic image when people open up, your bot was under phone, you want people to just jump right into the text. And that's saying don't use feature images. I use feature images all the time for my BIPOC that, but I just have it set. So when the blackboard is open, there's no feature image. Then in terms of videos like I don't I never lead off a piece of content with the video right here. I always like to have some type of texts introduction. Then either put a video right in the beginning, like maybe underneath the second section, or I'll go ahead and put a video at the footer of the bypass. If there is a related video, then in terms of images, images are strictly use to demonstrate stuff. So for example, like this is my blog posts and how to create a website. We have step two right here I have an image demonstrating the different pricing points for Bluehost and then a little Buying Guide about like this is what each one is. And I know it's to demonstrate to people who are new so they understand. It's not just like, Oh, let me go find a picture of a flower or a meadow because it looks pretty like everything's relevant. Okay? And so images are strictly used to demonstrate, videos are strictly used to demonstrate and you should implement the same strategy when you create content. 7. Feature images made easy: How to create feature images for your blog posts. Now, what is a feature image? Is these images right here, they're associated with a blog post. Okay? Now when you're in the backend of your website, you're actually able to avoid a feature image right over here. Okay, you're gonna have this tab that says feature image right there. And this is where you can upload a specific feature image to go along with the blog post. Now, what I personally recommend is every single blog posts should have a feature image and it should be Brandon was so CLIA added my brand to associate the site. Very consistent aesthetic layout helps click-through rate helps make your website more authoritative looking. Also, the images could potentially be picked up as a rich snippets. So there is a reason to pay attention to this as well. Like for example, let me just type in how to, how to start a vlog. This is a good example. So like this is a rich snippet right there, and this is being picked up from this website. Obviously there's no specific image to be associated with this, but there could be. And that's kinda like way when pay attention for your feature images for that reason, for the rich snippet purposes, if you get the number 1 spot within Google and decides to use your website and that way you don't have any control over that, by the way. But it's more important just to help brand your website. Now, when people are actually on the blogposts, I tend to shy away from having some big, massive image. Some websites like to do that. Some websites don't. I'm someone who doesn't like to do that because I want people to open up the website and read the content. I don't want them. There is no real used to having some big, huge image that's going to make the page load slower. So that's just me and I would recommend kind of doing the same reset feature image is displayed when people are on the specific blog roll. Or for example, if people are on your homepage for your website, then have the feature images right there because they've improved the click-through rate, that sort of thing. Now how the heck do you make feature images? So first off, the service that I like to use for this sort of thing is called You can sign up completely for free. And then you can just jump in and start making specific thumbnails. Now when I personally like to do is I like to use the YouTube thumbnail layout right here. And I actually used that on website create Pro and all of my websites. Okay. This is just the specific layout that I like, the size, et cetera. Now right here, you can begin uploading specific images that you want and just design your website. So for example, like if I wanted to do with books, they create Pro and I'm creating a block goes out, go to a website like for example, In here you can find images that are completely for free. So for example, if I want to type in coffee, say we had like a coffee bug. Here we go. So there I go. So that I can find that rate looking images that you could potentially use for your website. That looks fantastic. Look that, look at that. That's amazing, completely free. So I have to do is click Download right there. Okay, so now the image is downloading me back out of there. Okay, so let me go ahead and minimize that. And I'm going to take this right there. Now, this is going to be a huge image. So you wanna make sure to open up your image editor and make sure that you resize the image. So that's 4000 by 2, that's so big. We don't really need that. We maybe 25 percent, yeah, 1000 by 700. That's fine. Even that's a little big. I can make that a little bit smaller. Your feature image does not need to be that big. You want it to be a JPEG and you want to be big. We're not too big because we want it to be an optimal size. We're, doesn't slow our website down. There we go. Oh, case. Now let's go ahead in Let's go ahead and upload it right there. Upload Media goods device. And then boom, you can pick the image that you want to upload. And there you go. Uploads as appropriate. We'll put this right there. And we can leave this right there. We can expand this out. Okay? And now with Canva, we can go ahead and add in like specific text. You can also use elements as well. So what I personally do is I like to add a little block, put in the corner right there, minimize it like this, and then add black, and then add the name of the website. Nonetheless, so it has to be black. Just use your own creativity. If like the website colors are orange and blue, then use orange and blue. Then I can come here, add text, and then I can type in something like coffee block. Okay, We'll just say I'm have a coffee blog bone. Let me go here. It will be experts in. There we go. Okay, There we go. Okay, there we go. Make it white. And that looks good. Drag it there and make a little bit smaller fitted in. Okay, so let me go ahead and highlight this whole thing would come over here. You have effects within Canvas as well for my add a drop shadow or, you know, any type of design style that you want. And there you go. So now I'm gonna go ahead and download this. And I'm gonna change this to a JPEG because I want this to be a more efficient file size. I do not want this to be some big, massive image because you don't want, you want your website to load quickly. Then we'll take it. There. There we go. Okay, so now we have our thumbnail. So go back to our image editor. And now what you wanna do is consistently resize the image for every single thumbnail that you upload, okay, for every single specific feature image. So for example, what I mean is like each of these images is the same exact size because this is the process that I personally do. I come here with YouTube, the YouTube thumbnail, download it and then I resize it to be 50 percent small y, so all the images fit as appropriate. Cl it's just perfect little square rectangle, perfect rectangle, rectangle, rectangle. It fits really well because these images are all the same exact size. It's not like this one's 100 by 1 thousand and this one's 500 by 500, then it's going to be really difficult and look weird and say you want it to be nice and even in look good. And so that's what I would recommend doing for your specific feature image. Now when you're over here and you're ready to upload all you have to do this, select Image and then that's it. Now I have this open because I just want to mention this to you. I know a lot of people want to know how do I, how do I remove the background of an image? Like, well, if you want to have yourself in a feature image for some reason, totally fine. So right over here, which is, let me just minimize this. Will minimize that. Don't see, There we go. Okay, let me back this, back on that. Okay. So what's just say this image right here, we open this up. So I have this image of myself. If I want to remove the background, how do I do that? Very easy. You just use Remove BG. So upload image, I'll click on this. Click on this, and there we go. Okay, so there we go. So they're automatically. Then you can go ahead and download, then upload that specificly to Canvas. So let me go ahead and delete that. Delete that, delete that. And so if we come over here back to upwards, for example, here's the image I have that I created myself. They just took, you know, just in case if you want to add yourself in whatever you wanna do, but I can come here, I can come to save it, adjust and go ahead and click on bore like that. Maybe have a blurry background and then add in like a picture of myself right there on top of it. And then so it looks a little bit more cool like, like the, the background out of focus, but I'm in focus. Let's go back there. Click the back button. There we go. So I can come here to adjust or filter whatever I want to do. And then I can change the way I specifically work without adjusting the rest of the website that makes any sense. And there you go. That's a nice way to like create a nice effective thumbnail, whether or not you want to create a thumbnail for YouTube or your blog, whatever it is you want to do. Like if you don't have a picture of yourself and maybe you don't want a picture like this, you just want that to be blink. Then you want this to be a color. Click on the gray, for example. Then there you go. Okay, so now you have like an image of yourself right here that you can add in text very easily. Now one thing I do recommend doing if you are going to be using an image of yourself, let me click here to download this is to make sure to give yourself a drop shadow. So I'll move this right there. So let me go ahead and open up this with, open up with Gimp. So you can use whatever editing program you want. I like GIMP gives completely free. And you could do something just easily as add in a drop shadow using GIMP. And so right here, we can open up this, come over here to tools. Click on Close. Okay, there we go. Okay, So filters. Then you want to come into lightened shadow, mnemonic, come to drop shadow. There you go. Literally, that's it. And you can kinda change the way the drop shadow looks. Make something a little bit appropriate like that. Come over here to change the color. You want a red or black or white, whatever. It's really helpful when adding in your self over an image to just very subtle detail like this doesn't have a drop shadow or anything. So that's why it's it looks good but just it's missing that little too, you know, Jose adding a drop shadow. And then it looks amazing on any type of these image, images. But anyways, that's really all there is to it to creating effective thumbnails, feature images for your website. I definitely recommend keeping things simple. We'll get web sake, we're protocol like a little text. The name of the website. Images are nice and simple because you want to spend the majority of your time crafting great, amazing SEO friendly content that people are actually looking for it. You don't want to be spending a ton of time on the thumbnail and the feature images because it's important, but your content is way more important. So I want you to spend way more time on your content and just get a process down of whatever works for you to effectively creates a feature images for your blog. 8. Categories and tags: Categories and tags for your website. So every single blog post that you publish has to be organized within a category. At a minimum, you have to have no choice. You have to ask to be in one category at a minimum. Now when you publish a blog posts, you can put it in as many categories as you want. But I strongly suggest you take one blog post, put it in one category. That's it. Na2, NO3, one category. And then in addition to that, for your website in general, you want to focus on just a handful of categories. I would suggest like four to seven categories max, that are keyword rich, descriptive. You know that, that really makes sense for your website like website great pro with kinds of marketing, domain names, tutorials, web hosting, website builders. Very, very simple. Okay? And also it's a book of five categories like this website, It's quite large. It's got five categories. Okay? You don't, what you don't want to do is you don't want to create like 12 categories and this one category as 20 blog post. And this category is too, you don't want to do that. You want to make it balanced quite well with each category having a good collection of blogposts that makes sense for the website. Okay, so anyways, now, one thing I suggest doing too, is that you want to jump in to your category page. So go to pose, then go to categories. Okay? You're going to see this list right here. Here you can kind of jump in, open it up, and then you can create customized content for these specific category page. So for example, we can give it a name, give it a slug, and then you can have a quick little description. This description should appear on the specific category page. This is a small thing, but it does help with your on-page SEO and it does help explain the structure of your website to search engines like Google, like okay, this category is about tutorials. It's about WordPress tutorials, web say video content, blogging images, technical skills. You want to make sure that you fill this out. Use keywords related to what the specific category is about. So for example, tourists movie, I could go in here and add in like free tutorial, free WordPress Tutorials, free blogging tutorial, just overtime, we're going to have to craft that as appropriate, okay. And then you want to come down here, you have your Yoast SEO, then you want to make sure that you have a custom SEO title and then also give it a custom meta-description. And that's it. Don't worry too much about this SEO analysis, et cetera, because this is just a category page, but you want to take the time, it doesn't take that long to go ahead and create some custom content like this. This tutorial pages called helpful tutorials for content creation web scraper. Oh, that's it. Really simple. That's all they gotta pay attention to. Now, one other little thing I want to mention as well is that you can also create categories within here in if you want, you can create a new category and make it a subcategory. So for example, let's just take a look at the penny hoarder. Jump back over here, the penny hoarder, There we go. So again, like I said earlier, that this is a massive website and they use categories and subcategories. So for example, like we have budgeting right there. Then we open up the budgeting page. We come down there. And then they have additional content within content that makes sense. I categories within categories. So like for example, this is budgeting and then this is budgeting for a wedding, you know? And so to do that, you can come over here and say like, for example, content marketing. If I was like if I had a lot of pieces of content, content Mark and I kept going and like actually I'm creating a lot of content specifically relates a blogging outcome over here. Create blogging, create a slug, create blogging. Okay, and then parent category, I come over here and go to content marketing it and add new category. And you can add subcategories of broader categories. That makes any sense. For most websites, you don't really need to do that, but it does depend on the site. So maybe you want to have reviews, okay? You want to have a category that's reviews and then you want to have a web host and reviews, tech reviews, product. But whatever, you know, you want to structure it like that. This is where you kinda set everything up as appropriate. Okay? And then last is tags. Okay, So this is the easily the most misunderstood thing about WordPress. I personally don't use tanks and I suggest that you stay away from tags. Tags just create a bunch of pages on your website that all have one piece of content. Just not particularly helpful. Now the way tags are supposed to work is you're supposed to use them in a way that helps the end-user who's visiting your website, navigate your website and find pieces of content that they're specifically interested in. So like maybe you have a category on travel and you talk all about travel. But then you're talking maybe of two blog posts out of a 100 where you're specifically talking about France. Then those two blog posts you could tag is France for example. And so people can navigate that tags are really for like individual blog posts, maybe one or two blog posts where you talk about something like unique within a subcategory. Again, I suggest that you shy away from tags. I don't find them particularly helpful. Categories though are way more important. And this is where you should have most of your focus when you're publishing blog post on your website. 9. Purpose driven content: And I just want to end this by saying that each blog post you create should have some type of queer in specific goal. And so I just jotted this down on a notepad just so I don't forget anything anyways, goals for blogposts. It can be either lake and affiliate marketing promotion, for example. Like this piece of content. As you do cameras for bloggers. What do you think? This is? Amazon Associates. Okay. And so the goal of this is to like rank for this kind of phrase like cameras for you to best cameras for you to cameras for blogging, that kinda thing. And then sudden make a commission by promoting relevant, helpful cameras. Okay? And so that's one thing. It could also just be like maybe this piece of content is high traffic and there's maybe potential for ad revenue. So perhaps you could just whatever what have you if you find a piece of content that for your topic, for your industry, for your website that has potential to drive a lot of traffic. Maybe there's no real product, but you could put like Google AdSense or something. You could also just collecting notes. So sometimes you want it, maybe you'll find a piece of content where you can just like it's high traffic, There's relevant offer you could put in front of the audience or maybe you just want to get the credit piece of content in order to collect emails from people because you provide such helpful, valuable content. You could also just create blog posts just to have internal making. So what I mean by that is just like maybe you're, maybe this piece of content has no goal other than to just to help build internal links to other pages. So sometimes you can interlink blog posts, okay? And so like maybe you have like a Buying Guide, for example, like this, a Buying Guide for cameras on YouTube. It's like, okay, maybe I can go ahead and create a different piece of content, a different blog post, and then maybe there's no clear way to monetize that, but I could Internal, have internal links back to this. And internal links do help your website rank and build authority over time. And then the last is just to it sometimes just build out the website. Sometimes you're just gonna have to create constant because it makes sense in your website's not complete without having it. So for example, Lake. Let's just navigate back to the homepage. So I have two blog posts right here. So it's like this one's on create a website and this one's on Start. How to start a blog. Those are really high traffic valuable keywords that no way am I probably ever going to rank for that. I like these two to a ton of work to rights. They are like 4000 word guides and unlikely that I'm ever going to rank on the first page of Google for how to create a website or how to start a blog? No way, but like website create Pro would not be complete without it seemed like this piece of content right here, how to write your legal pages. There's no clear way to like monetize this, but it's a helpful piece of content. And so it's just the website is not complete without it. Because then like whenever I create like a YouTube video or a blog post or a tutorial, I have this page where I can have like, hey, this is what you should do is really helpful because then I can reference this to help people like my other pieces of content. So like when I create like a tutorial video on how to create a website with WordPress and be like parts of my tutorial. I tell people like how to design the footer appropriately where you should have your different disclaimers and privacy policy and then say, okay, well, if you want to check it out, here's a here's a general overview of Alec, what should be included in these pages. And so sometimes you just creating content, not because there's any monetization strategy. It's just truly, genuinely just to be helpful, provide value, and to build out the website and make it a more complete experience for your visitors. 10.
