1. Introduction: everyone. My name is Samantha. I'm an artist and designer who most of you know from Burrows Gallery or, you know, me from my other class led resin art. In this new class, I'll be teaching you how to make liquid resin shakers. I list all the materials necessary to help you get started and walking through the process step by step, from start to finish, you can find a link toe all the products that used in the description of this video and roll today and discover all my tips and tricks. Successful resin shakers. I'm so excited to be teaching this class, and I can't wait to see what you make. 2. How To Make a Liquid Resin Shaker: Hey, everyone, welcome to my video. In this lesson, you will learn how to create liquid resin shakers. Everything you need is listen, description of this video with a linked all the products I use. Now let's get started. I pre made this butterfly shaker one for this video in a different lesson, I'll be teaching. You guys had to make these led ones. We're going to start by taking our mini hand drill and making a small hole into the top corner of the butterfly. We're gonna drill on the flat back. We're not going to drill where the led wires. As you can see, that was a pretty easy hole to drill because the back of the one is not that thick. Let's go ahead now and grab transparent fell. We're gonna place this on top of our butterfly. Now go ahead and grab a color Sharpie so we can trace it. Let's begin by tracing the outer rim way. Ensure that we have enough film after we cut to cover our peace way, grab some scissors and begin to cut the inside of the yellow line, - as you can see, are clear. Film fits perfectly over our butterfly. If you have a little leftover Sharpie anywhere, go ahead and trim those off. Now let's grab some rubbing alcohol and some paper towel. Put some gloves on. That way we avoid any fingerprints on her transparent film. Dip your paper towel into some alcohol and begin to wipe down your film. This'll will get rid of any dust and fingerprints. Once you're done cleaning your film, just put it to the side. Now let's grab our shaker pieces. Thes air. Just any kind of Rhinestones glitters whatever you want to add into your piece. Once you arrange a few of your pieces, let's grab our UV resin. Let's start by adding a small layer onto the rim of our peace. Use your paintbrush and begin to spread it around. You want to make sure as you spread that you're covering all the edges. Grab your transparent film, place it on top. Once you align the edges correctly, use your paint brush to push down the resin and transferring film together. Let's put this under a U V lamp for 90 seconds. Pull out your piece and add another layer of UV region on top. This'd just to make sure it's completely sealed. When you spread this resin around, you want to make sure you focus on the edges way. Let's put it back under for another 90 seconds. Now we're going to start the dome ing process. Go ahead and mix a very small amount of resident I premixed mind for this video, we're gonna begin by pouring a small amount on top of the transparent film. Use your paintbrush and begin to spread it all around. Be careful not to spill any over the edges. Make sure you're working on a flat, even surface for this way. Once I finished filming the Butterfly, I'm gonna add a little bit more resin to my wand so I can make sure it's all even. I'm just gonna use the lighter to pop any air bubbles on the surface. You want to make sure you do this very quickly so you don't burn anything. Now let's wait 24 hours. As you can see, my piece is fully cured and now I can begin to add the oil. I'm using a needle squeeze bottle. I find this the easiest way to push the oil through. I'm just using regular baby oil. Let's go ahead and insert the needle into the hole that we drilled and squeeze the bottle to push the oil way. Once you filled up your piece, some oil might spill out, so just grab some paper towel and wipe it out. Put your finger over the hole so no oil spills out. And if you're satisfied with how much oil is in, go ahead and add a gap of UV resin and put it under the lamp. I'm putting it in for 90 seconds, and that's it just made your first resident liquid shaker. This is an led one, so I have to show you guys with the lights on. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my arm. I'll see you guys in the next one.
