About This Class

Hello and welcome to the class.

It’s been a while since we created our last flat design project.

As per your request in this class you will learn how to create a flat design xbox controller.

This class will be a bit longer than my flat icons classes you might got used to, but it only means that you will learn even more fantastic Illustrator tricks and techniques.

  • We will start with tracing the controller’s shape with the pen tool. But we will also use some transformations and path joining to make the process fast and easy.
  • After that you will learn how to create the controller’s buttons and I think you will be surprised how easy it is to create some intricate shapes using just the Appearance panel
  • You will also earn how to create the xbox logo, which will be separate piece of design knowledge in itself.
  • Lastly you will learn how to add this shading effect and in the process you will learn how to create and use opacity masks in Illustrator

As you can see we got quite a lot to go through, but you can be sure that, as always in my classes, all the techniques will be easy to follow and straight to the point.

So enroll in the class and let’s get started.

Another wonderful class by Dawid. I now have a very clear understanding of how I can create non-standard shapes using the Pen Tool, as well as learning general concepts in flat icon design. As always, Dawid has split the class into a series of logically ordered videos and provides thorough explanations and clear demonstrations of every step. It's worth noting that I completed this class successfully using Affinity Designer, rather than Adobe Illustrator, which was reasonably easy. See my project if you'd like some tips. I'd previously completed Dawid's excellent Affinity Designer Basics class.
