Hey! Welcome. Thank you for checking out my classes on Skillshare.

My name is Lorena and I am a Brand Strategist. I work with Coaches and Course Creators from around the globe, helping them brand or re-brand their business + courses, by providing high-level graphic design, client experience & launch marketing.

In 2019, I quit my 9-5 job without a clue on what I wanted to do next. I only knew I couldn't do that life anymore! After a lot of research (and therapy, to be honest) I became a Creative Virtual Assistant in June and started taking on clients. Since then my business has evolved a lot, and now as a Brand Strategist I focus on my zone of genius: Intuition, Connection, and of course, Graphic Design.

1. Introduction: Hi and welcome to this class on how to become a creative virtual assistant. I'm so excited to have you here today in this class, we will cover all the basics that you need to start creating your own creative virtual assistant business. We will cover what services can you offer as a creative ba, Graphic Design Tools, video editing tools, so forth that you will use on a daily basis, how to offer your services and how to price your services for the project of this class, you will find a workbook that you can download in the project section. Make sure you download the workbook, fill it out, and then upload it to the project section so I can review it for you. My name is stored in a chapter and I am a brand strategist. I started my business in 2019 as a creative ba, and I now work with six-figure solo printers and coaches, helping them create a brown that aligns with their purpose and their passion. If after this class you feel like you need more teaching and support, I invite you to follow me on Instagram. I will put it here on the screen and connect with me there. Okay, now let's get on with the class. 2. Services To Offer: Welcome to the first lesson on how to become a creative virtual assistant. In this class, we will cover what's the difference between a VA in a creative V8 and what services can you offer? Let's first talk about the difference between a regular VA and I created one. They are both service providers that help online businesses from a remote location. But what differentiates them is that a regular VA focuses on admin tasks. While I create a VA focuses on creative tasks like graphics, video edited in social media management, et cetera. Here are some of the services that you can offer social media management. If you like social media, especially Instagram and Facebook, you can offer social media management as a service without getting into the market inside, which is usually done by a social media marketer. And that's like a whole other business idea. You can schedule posts of platforms like later or cleverly, or even the Creator Studio, their Facebook Creator Studio. You can help them make the copy or space that copy our emojis, stuff like that. You can do hashtag research to optimize the reach of your clients posts. You can also offer engagement, so your client doesn't have to be constantly engaged in on their platform. Graphic design, mainly Canva designs. If you're interested in graphic design, Canva is the best place to start. You can do some simple IG stories, IGTV banners, YouTube thumbnails, Facebook banners, pretty much everything that your client would need on their social media. We will see more about this in the next lesson, photo and video editing. You will need a little more knowledge to do this, but you can totally learn first and then add this to your services. You can offer a video editing for IGTV slash YouTube. You can create presser presets on Live Room and you can sell them as passive income. So there's a lot of different things that you can do with photo and video editing. You can combine these three services into a whole package so that you can create and edit that content and then you post and engage with it. That's a package that works really, really well. These are the most popular services, but there's a lot more than you got offered. For example, Pinterest management. You can create been designs on Canva and manage their Pinterest account. And as a disclaimer though, being a Pinterest manager is also a different business idea that you can do. That It's not related to virtual assistant, but you can still offer that service as a virtual assistant if you want. And then podcasts management, you can edit the podcast of your client, odd music out cuts and then publish it for them. Again. I know people that are just bought gas managers. So that's a whole business idea as well. Offering a variety of services will allow you to see what you're really good at and what you enjoy the most. And later on in your business, you can decide where to focus the moles. So for example, when I first got started, I started with video editing, photo editing, graphic design, social media management, all of that. And I say went on, I realized that what I really liked was graphic design. So I started to shift and focus more on that. And that's why I became a brand strategist. Because now I do what I really, really love and enjoy, which is graphic design. So that's, that's something that you will see and you will get the feeling once you start working. So don't worry too much about the services. Just learn in start practicing your services and you will see what you like best when you, when you start getting clients. I hope this lesson was helpful and let's move on to the next one. 3. Graphic Design Tools: Welcome to this lesson on graphic design tools. Let's start talking about camber. Camber are set on Wikipedia is a graphic, the same platform used to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents, and other visual content. What's really cool about Canva is that you can start with their preexisting templates. So you don't have to get an expert designer to create beautiful graphics. Once you start using Canva more and more and you get familiar with it, you'll be able to start creating your own designs without the help of the templates. Combat these free, which is great. But it also has a pro version that includes some cool features like deleting backgrounds. I didn't effects to your photos using Pro elements and pro photos and designs and more. When you start getting clients, maybe you can consider getting Canva pro, but that's a personal choice, that's not a mask. When I first started, I started with the free version and then actually my clients had the pro version, so I used their account, so I didn't need to get the pro version right away. So don't worry about that. Just to give you an example, when you can do on Canvas, you can go check my Skillshare class on camera for beginners. We do a whole feed design with do our puzzle feed designed for Instagram. So if you're interested in that, you can check out my class on Canvas here on Skillshare. Now let's talk about Photoshop. Once you are an expert on Canvas, photoshop is like the next step. You don't need to start lettering from day one, so don't worry, but just know that if you're interested in graphic design, photoshop is the best place to create any type of graphics really, since becoming a brand strategists myself, I mainly use Photoshop to the sign because it has a million features and you can do pretty much anything you want. So if you have any idea, you can, I'm sure do it with Photoshop and with Canvas. It's a little more complicated, not impossible, but a little more complicated. I'm not going to get into Photoshop today, but just know that it can be an option once you start getting clients and your business, let me know if you would like a Photoshop tutorial or a class here on Skillshare, and I can totally make that for you. Now, let's move on to the next class. 4. Video Editing Tools: Welcome to this lesson and video editing tools. Let's start talking about Phil Mura. Mura is, in my opinion, the easiest way to get into video editing. It has all the features you will need to do simple edits. Plus is really, really, really easy to use. The unlimited plan of your memorised currently at $60 in October of 2020. And you can pay for it in only one time. And you can also pay three every three months. That is $15, or annually, that is $45. But of course I recommend the unlimited one because the pricing, it's just better. And you can do pretty much anything you would need on fill Mora without VM2 hard. So if you are familiar with iMovie, for example, this is easier than iMovie to use. And it's easier than Final Cut Pro and Premier Pro. It's so much easier to use. You can also download it just to try it out. They have like a free trial version. And then if you like it, you can start with the progression. Now let's talk about coupling. Coupling is a website that allows you to do very simple video editing and I mean very, very simple slide, the Canva for videos, but it's just starting out. So it's not as advanced as camber. You can make simple cuts at Subtitles, Give shapes, et cetera. The free version gives you a restriction on minutes and megabytes for the videos, I think it's like 250 megabytes and seven minutes, something like that. So keep that in mind. I personally tried the pro version, which is $20 per month by the way, and to me it didn't work as well as I would expect. Something that's $20 a month. So I don't know, that's up to you. You can try it out maybe for you, it will work better for me, it didn't work, but overall coupling is a good way to add subtitles. It has a feature that adds subtitles automatically, so you don't have to be typed in anything which is really cool. So you can try it out and see what you think about that. I hope this gives you like an overview of what platforms you can start learning if he decided to offer video editing as a service. But let me know if you would like a more in-depth, more in detail tutorial of these two platforms. And I will happily do that for you here on Skillshare. Okay, let's move on to our next lesson. 5. Softwares You'll Use Daily: Welcome to this class on the software, so you will use on a daily basis. Now, I'm sure there's some aliens specific softwares that your future clients may ask you to use. But today, we're going to focus on the softwares that you will probably use every single day. Let's start with Google Drive. You probably already know what Google Drive is, but just in case you don't. Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service developed by Google. Of course, basically, here you can save every file that you need to backup from your computer. I recommend you create a folder for each client and drop there every file that you edit that you do that you create everything, just drop it in there so you don't lose it in the future. It happens, believe me, your Compute Engine crash. You can I don't know, Those some files, you can accidentally delete some files. It did happen to me. So that's some great way to avoid that and to have a backup in case you need it. And also you can share with your client that specific folder. So they can also see everything that you're doing. So that's a really cool feature. Okay, now let's talk about soon. This one is really famous right now because of everything that's going on in the world. So you probably have already used step. You will use Zoom for every discovery called, onboarding call, and team meetings. If your client already has another team members, you will probably use Zoom to do a team meeting every week, every two weeks or something like that. You can create here different meetings and send them via email to your clients or your potential clients. And you can also link it to Google Calendar. So you will see all your meetings there for more organization. Google calendar is something that you will use probably every day as well. Yeah, we won't get into Google calendar today, but just keep it in mind. Now, let's move on to slack. Slack is basically our messaging up. But for business teams, if you're new client already has other team members, they will probably want to use Slack to communicate everyday. It is very, very simple to use and straightforward. If you know how to use the Facebooks Messenger up, you'll know how to use Slack. And you can also send files in different things on Slack. So that's a really cool feature as well. And now let's talk about Trello asana. These two platforms are so important when you start working with your clients. What they are is basically a collaboration tool that organizes your projects into boards. So your client can create a board with your tasks, add files, links, text, everything that due date, everything and tag you on it. So you will know exactly what you need to accomplish. You will have all the details there and you can mark it as complete. If you're an astronaut, you can mark it as complete and move on to the next thing. And your client would automatically know that you have already done that task. To our amazing, I would say, start looking up everything about them. You can create like an account on them and start using them for your own business. So that way once you get clients, you're familiar with them. This so forth are the ones that you will probably be using every day if you can. You can start to learn a little about them before getting clients. So you'll be absolutely ready to start working when you get them. I hope this was helpful. Again, let me know if you would like a class in one of these specific platforms, and I will happily do that. Let's move on to the next lesson. 6. How To Offer Your Services: Welcome to this class on how to offer your services. How you offer your services is of course, really important to get clients. Today, I'll give you some simple strategies that you can follow to start getting your first clients. Let's start with Facebook groups. This is where I find most of my clients when I first got started is how I found my first by an ever. You can go to the VA jobs, Facebook groups and said notifications. So you know exactly when someone is posting and you can go there and be the first one to see the post. You can also join other Facebook groups that relate to the type of client that you want to be working with. So if, for example, you want to be working with wedding photographers, I would search for a wedding photographers. Facebook group may be one that's in your area and engage with everyone and help whenever you can. Also, if it's possible, in that specific Facebook group, you can promote yourself. But that's not always a possibility. So check first with the admin of the Facebook group. Okay, Next one is referrals. I love referrals. They are amazing if you know how to use them. My advice is that the day you start your business, you tell everyone you know to refer you to someone that may meet you. Family and your friends may not be your ideal client, but they may know someone that actually is. Once you start getting clients, incentivize them to refer you to other people. You can give them discounts or bonuses every time you get a new client from from them. This is how I get a lot of clients because my already existing clients know that if they refer me to someone, they get a discount or a bonus for me. So that's a really good way to get some referrals. And lastly, social media, this is how I find most of my clients right now. Through social media, I have a very, very simple strategy. I just follow these three steps. So the first step is content. Create good content that resonates with their ideal client and that helps them in any way. So think about what problem thus your ideal client currently have and how can you help them with that? How something can help them change, that, improve that. This has to be like really pinpoint like very simple tips and tricks that you can give them, that they can implement right away. Wait and see like a transformation within their business. Second step is engaged. So actually engage with potential clients so they get to know you and they actually see your content. You can sum them IBM, you can comment on their posts. This is a great way just to make relationships and connect with people that they could potentially become clients in the future. And third step is give value and help people given value and helping your potential clients with allow you to be seen as the expert in your field. And once they are ready to outsource, you'll be in the top of their heads and you'll be a no-brainer. They will go and outsource to you. I hope these examples help you to get out there and start looking for potential clients. Have patients be consistent and I'm sure you will find your first client in no time. Okay. Let's move on to our last lesson. 7. How To Price Your Services: Welcome to our final lesson on how to price your services. Praising your services is a really personal thing. It depends on your needs, your goals, your lifestyle, and your expertise. But overall, you can do this in two different ways. One way is our li. For example, if you charge $20 an hour, if you decide to charge hourly, be sure that you know how to track those hours and send them to your client so you have no problems later. This is very, very important and make sure to match, surpass those hours. And if you end up needing more time, just talk to your client and be like, Hey, I thought this was taken me like four hours and it's actually taken me eight hours. What can we do about it? And you can cut services or you can add more hours to your package. They will probably understand and that will be fine with that. The other way that you can price your services is by package. For example, $200. For one package. If you decide to charge by Package, make sure that you know approximately how many hours is going to take you to do the job and figure out if you're not underpaying yourself. Because this happened to me a lot in the beginning. I would say like a price for my packages and I didn't count how many hours it was actually taken me to do the job and I was underpaying myself because I was paying me like $5 an hour. So my packages were really, really low. If that makes sense, figure out what method works the best for you. And keep in mind that what I said at the beginning, your goals, your lifestyle choices, your expertise, all of that, make your pricing. So keep in mind all of that. And that's how you figure out your pricing, but also just tap into your intuition and see what feels good for you. What do you feel like? You feel comfortable charging people because we can all be like, Oh, I'm going to charge this amount. But when you are in a sales call and you have to actually talk to the client and be like, my package is this much. You have to be comfortable and sure about that pricing because that's going to reflect in your attitude in that sales goal. So always have all of these in mind, but also your intuition and what your mind embodies, selling you to price your services, what feels comfortable for you? I hope all of this makes sense and if you have any questions, you can ask those here. And also don't forget to download the PDF and complete your project in the project section. And yeah, I'll see you in our next lesson. 8. Final Thoughts: I hope this class will sell for and inspires you to start your own creative BA business. So if you feel like you need more support and more teaching, please go follow me on Instagram and connect with me either. Thank you so much and I'll see you in my next class.
