Welcome to the  Christmas themed Holiday Cards in Watercolor class! In this class, we will create a set of 3 joyful holiday cards for your loved ones :)

We will learn to quickly sketch each card motif in real-time and then we will add watercolors and ink techniques we'll also use gold and white accents to give these cards a dash of festive cheer! During the class, we will be painting three-holiday cards using watercolor and Ink painting techniques. You can paint all 3 of them or pick a favorite! Feel free to add variations as you like and create something unique and beautiful. 

This class is designed to appeal to all skill levels.

I was always the kid who would be tucked away in a corner of their home with painting supplies and a huge creativity book, whereas that kid in me never really grew up my love for art just kept compounding over the years and even though as I was pulled towards the corporate world in lieu of adulting, the art crept in and continues to blossom every day.

1. Introduction: Now this is monastery, the artists behind the whimsical creative. And I'm so glad to be back with my sixth skill share class. This is a Christmas special skill share class in which we'll be learning to paint three beautiful creeping tags like this. So you can either beans all three of them or you can pick your favorite. And these would make such excellent gifts for your lab time. This class is super special for a couple of reasons for us to foil. The idea for this class came from my very own gift, which I was working on to give to my loved ones. And I thought, what better way than to share it with you guys so that you can also share it with your loved ones, right? The first time that I'm gonna be teaching you how to create cute characters. So we will be learning a little bit about what goes behind creating a cute character that also makes it super interesting. This class can be enjoyed by all skill levels. So even if you're a beginner or in Guangzhou artist or an intermediate, our desk, I'm pretty sure you'd love to create these. So without further ado, let's dive straight into the class and let me show you how to create these beautiful holiday themed guides in a step-by-step real-time manner. 2. Supplies: So before we begin, let's have a quick look at all the supplies that we will be needing in today's class. First is our watercolors support our red watercolors. We will be using Alizarin crimson from Windsor and Newton, and Berlin maroon from Daniel Smith. Apart from that, to add shadows and highlights, I'd be using two colours. One is CPR, it's warm CPR from sand layer, and then the other is quinacridone Gould, again from Centralia. Then for our greens, I have quite a few of them. So of course, if you've taken my previous classes, you know how much I love this color. This is greenish amber by Centralia. It's pretty worn down and fall modes towards. And the second color that we'll be using is steadily increasing. This is again by Winsor Newton, and then we have this beautiful dominant Sap Green again by Winsor Newton. Now to get some color green sheets, I'd be using a blue and this is N2 hopes blue again by Winsor Newton. For our gold accents, we can either use watercolors. So these are some of the goal watercolors that I would be using. Or alternatively, you can go ahead and use a Google Inc.. A great option is Windsor in Newton's cold drawing in this ink is really brilliant and I love it. Moving on. For our people. I will be using 300 GSM, a 100% cotton watercolor people, which has a fine green to it. I have got these paper in standard guard sizes, which is five inches by 17 inches. Or you can create your own size whichever feels most comfortable for you. Now you also need some brushes. So for today's class via using couple of thrushes, three number sixes, and do number falls. And we're going to be listing all the suppliers in the project resources section so you can have a quick look at it. Everything that we are using today will be listed there. Make sure to check that project resource section from a desktop website version of skill share. Because if you try to access it from the application, you will not be able to see. Now for lightly sketching the even also be using a pencil. I'm using this pencil and this bill also need gala palette. This is the color palette that I'm using. It's just sediments plate. You can use mental palate, plastic palette, anything that you feel most comfortable width will also need cloud track or people dance to dab on Dweck says what doing color. And of course, a jar of freshwater. And then some additional supplies are some sort of twine or trade. Again, if you want to decorate your envelopes, fit that, again, pretty optional. And then you'll also need envelopes, which you can get as Father, God size secure choosing. That's it for our supplies. We are ready to get started and create a beautiful holiday cards. 3. Sketching the Garden Gnome : Okay, so let's get started sketching our garden nor. So I'm gonna begin by likely sketching. So you don't have to make sure that it's a both its circle. Ok. Next, I'll define the four of the hat. So this is how take I1, this band of four to be. And then we will create the shape of the hat. So we'll go ahead and create Colby little hat. Just so that we add in some drama into the shape. So that's what I'm gonna do. And from here, it's going to start like so. And it'll go get curved showing. Because we're sketching, we can always go ahead and change certain ratios, those non-greedy happy with tau, the sloped. And I'm gonna do, is I'm going to reattempt the shape, somewhat like this. And then it gets this part studies to submit this try and get a nice curve here, okay? And then this one gets almost like so. You don't have to essentially follow the way I'm doing it and feel free to kind of rotate your people to give you the best range of motion. And now I'm going to give it a nice, a nice round bell. Okay? And I'm gonna give it that nice slit. Not smell my hat does pretty much done. I am kinda happy with that. Fluffy thing to come here. Okay? And now for my knowns phase, I'm gonna give it a Center who will take a line and a horizontal blue line almost at two thoughts of his face. So I know exactly where his eyes but go. Since I want him to be smiling, I'm gonna make them like this. You can keep them open. Make it more expressive. Told Leo Kahn. And I'm gonna give him a chubby little nose. And then I'm gonna give him a little mustache. Like dense. And I'm gonna do the same thing on this side. So we start like this and go like so. And let me join like this. So I wanted to end like this. Since the site has become a little bigger, I'm gonna change that and realign it. So once again, because these are sketches, you can always make those alterations to suit. You. Feel free to do that. And now from his mustache, I'm going to attach his beard. It's just going to be like this. I'm gonna give it some dimension, some hair towards the edges, like so. Okay. And then comes his body. So I'm gonna give him that, make a note that his body is hiding behind his mustache and the beard. So it's okay if you just see parts of it. So I'm gonna just show a tiny little hand like this, which has a beautiful red club. Like so. Now sometimes you can also choose to give extra hair to the mustache just to add in some more trauma. So my Nome is done. And just going to define this 4-bit or little. Yes. And we can go ahead and start painting him. If you want. You can give him a small face like this. And that's going to make him look even more cute. Alright, so we are done with this. You can also choose to give him feed if you wanted to. I'm going to leave it at this. I don't want that for our sentiment. Whatever you want to write, you can write it here. So we are done with our garden gnome. Next up we will be moving on to sketching our Sadia. 4. Poinsettia Sketch: So before we start sketching our points at yes, I would suggest you go on Google and Pinterest and just simply search for points, ideas. And you'll come across lot of beautiful flowers to gather inspiration from. If you've taken my Hubble discuss or magnolias class, you would know how we begin usually by sketching and gathering inspiration from pictures post. If that's something you're interested in, make sure to check out my loose magnolias watercolor glass. Now for this class, I'm going to be sketching my points at yeah, by combining a couple of different images that I saw on the internet of the actual flower. You can also click your own pictures if you have Blind City of loss at home. And that we make sure to click images from different angles so that you can actually see how the flower looks from all different sides and you can capture it and translate it on paper. So to simplify and start sketching the flower, the first thing I do is first, I like to mark with light, so gu, the entire better meter of my flaw. So once I'm done doing that, I have decided that out of this garden, this is the area on which my points at Yale will sit. Now, I would begin by defining a center. Subpoints idea has this beautiful center which has greens and yellows in it. We're gonna make them golden. Just do bringing that bling and festive minus into our guard. So I'll start by sketching our first petal. You can pick any direction you want. The thing to observe is that usually every battle starts very narrow. And then it becomes just like a leaf. And again, comes at a narrow ten portion and joins to the centre. So we will be mindful of tie for all our pickles and would try to keep that white space in between those speckles. Okay, so you would also want to vary the size of your packets. So the next battle, I'm gonna vary its detection and the size. I'm gonna give it a nice curved edges and make it a little bigger than our last Betty. So this is my second bedroom. Now I'll go ahead and create one here. This time. I'm gonna make it bigger than this, but smaller than this one. So let's see. If at anytime you feel you're not happy with the shape. Philly Free to bust out eraser and remove that and just start or no, let's see. I'll create another smaller one here. Not too small. Not too big either. Okay, I think I wanted like this. So this is like almost my first layer of petals. I'm gonna make, one teeny tiny one here. Just observe how I am choosing to make and give them interesting edges, rather than making them simply blame. Okay, and then here I'll go ahead and create another better. But this one would be quite larger in size in comparison to the ones that we have drawn. Some gonna make it this large. Like this novel isn't happy with Todd the scope. So I'm going to remove this massively like this. Ok, so this is my first layer of the battles, okay? Now and start creating pedals which go behind these. And usually those petals may be larger than these petals. Births badly will come here, which is going to be betty, which emerges from behind. And as you can see, I'm making it larger. And behind this. Now comes another peddler. So once again, I'm going to make it super large and give it nice curves. And it's going to be like this. You can see I'm making sure to leave this white space in between each vector. And that's gonna give us our distinctive etcetera. Ok? So for this one here, it's going to be almost like a sine into a clue. Perhaps something like this would look good. Alright? And then I need something here or an in-between started clues to this one. And like so. And you also want to make sure that it's asymmetrical, it's not completely symmetrical. Again, to bring in some more variety. Like for example, I feel these three buttons have become too similar. So go ahead and change that. Probably make it a lot bigger. That way. It would give me naturally some asymmetry. Now, I have space for one beggar, which I can put here, and then one here. So let's see. If I go ahead and put one here, like so. And this one, I'm going to leave the space because I am going to give it leaves, coming out from here. So I'm gonna give it a nice, beautiful leave, which starts from here and right next to it. And we're gonna make smaller leaf, which goes along with it. And then maybe I can give it to one more leaf, either here or on that site. So let's see. I think I'll give it one leaf, like so. Okay, and then one leaf is here. So I'm just making rough leaf. And now for us so good. You can actually make sure that the leaf also starts from here if you wanted to, for us. So I'm gonna give it a small tiny circles, kind of some half semi-circles, some quarter circles like that. Because I want it to look like those tiny things which are there at the center of this flower. And anyway, we're gonna make it golden. So we're done with our points Idea Sketch, and let's now move on to our Christmas tree sketch. 5. Christmas Tree Sketch: So far, our Christmas tree sketch v will just be sketching an inverted triangle and the tree darpa, which is the star. So I'm gonna roughly create a star which will serve as my tree. And then I'm going to create an isosceles triangle. Like so. I'm gonna give it a nice little stem like this. If you want, you can actually create these Cove lines which will serve as guide when you bring your brush near it. So I'm going to leave it at that. This is probably the easiest of all the three reading gods that we'll be making. Alright, so we are done with our sketches. Now. 6. Painting Garden Gnome Part I: So let's get started with our garden gnome guy. So as you know, we have sketched it out already. I'm going to go ahead with a NORM.DIST eraser. And I will erase these pencil lines and make them extremely light. So just gently erasing them. So now you can see that I have removed all the pencil lines and they're slightly visible. So now go ahead and start our watercolor beating. So before we begin by ending our greeting, God, I wanted to give you a quick look at my color palette. I have my Alizarin crimson, My Berlin maroon, warm CPR, and the sea green and greenish amber laid out here than there are some other colors which as a result of my previous book that I was doing with this ballad. So not going to be using them, I'll just be using the colors I have mentioned here. And this is also my quinacridone gold. Now while put this ballot aside, and I'll take my number six brush. This is my silver Blackwell wet number six brush. So I'm gonna start mixing Little bit of antelopes blue with my undersea cream. And I'm going to prepare a light Walsh. And we'll start building our garden gnomes have B using the tip of my brush to create sort of an outline for the hat and create its shape. First. You'd want to make sure that the outline shouldn't get dry, otherwise you'll end up with harsh edges. So making sure that I have enough water to move around and doesn't dry on me, right nitride to complete the entire shape of Arhat. I'm also going to vary my value of the scholar. What I mean by that is that I'm going to make sure that I shop in some darker color while it's wet. At certain areas where I and dissipate they might be shadows. And that's going to give it that interesting bead. Okay, so we're pretty much done with r hat. Now. I'll be moving on to the mustache and the beard. So our moustache and BOD is going to be a grey color. It's also going to be similar to the far that we'd be creating here. I'm not going to attempt a four right now simply because the take some time to try. So to create our great dawns, I'm going to be mixing again some of my greens and messy, clean and greenish ammo and little bit of an tubes flew to get a grayish shaped. Now you'd want it to be super diluted. Otherwise, it's going to be extremely dark. So you wanted to remain light to make sure to use lots of water, and then slightly put a small amount and check if it's too dark or if it's too dark, you can always go ahead and add more water. Do it. Again. I'm gonna be using the tip of my brush to give it its distinct shape, the shape of the mustache. Like. So. Feel free to rotate your page around for the best range of motion. And then I'm going to be using similar color for my beard because I want my beer to stand out a bit and also going to be mixing little amounts of sepia. Just especially where my imbued begins, just so that I have a distinction within my beard and mustache. Anyway, we will be bringing out this distinction even more once we go ahead with the details. But for now, I'm going to do this. I have accidentally painted this bit. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to add lot of clean water here. I'm gonna use my plot to adapt this area. And this will lift some of the color. I'm not too concerned because my Redwood anyway couple the mistake that I just made. So yeah. Okay. So we're done with our beard and swim right now for the skin color, the villainy and to mix our quinacridone and a certain chromosome. And that's gonna give us a nice peachy color. Once again, you would want to dilute it a lot. So be extremely generous with water to get o light skin color. And carefully start defining the edges of the face. Ok. So this is done. Now, I go ahead with the yellow of the fault that I'm gonna be using quinacridone gold mixed with a very tiny amount of Alizarin crimson and just fill it out. Got to leave space for the slit and the bell. And I'm gonna lift some just to give it some dimension. Since our lifting some galore, some areas may become lighter and some will remain darker. And that's gonna create part of interest. Now let's begin building the fire off our half. So at first, I am defining the fluffy texture across the phase and towards the edges. And I'm going to add a little bit more blue. Do this. And lot of Florida. And I'm gonna leave some white spaces in between. And go ahead with a clean brush and blend some of the areas. You can choose to leave some whitespaces. Like so. Now we'll be going ahead with our rates. So I'm gonna mix Alizarin crimson and my Berlin module. Like so. Now I'm going to take a slight amount of deaths with a lot of water and start with my first wash of color. Now I have to make sure that it's wet. And once I know that it's fit, I am going to drop in some darker shade of the same mix that we have prepared, Alizarin crimson and are peddling. Thanks. So I'm gonna do the same thing towards the site. And then I'm go ahead and drop them into stock or garden gnomes glove. Again, I'm gonna do a little bit of this blue-ish grey color, creative form, a texture. Do some white space in between and be done with it. Now, before I go ahead and build this glove red, I'm going to read for this to dry entirely. Otherwise we'll get bleeds like this, which I don't want to happen near the gloves. Similar weight and come back to this BCE once it's dry. 7. Painting Garden Gnome Part II: Okay, so now my garden loam is try. So if we go ahead and make slow bit of suburbia with my Alizarin crimson and federally material mix and add tiny amounts of antelopes blue plus would give me a beautiful muted black Gallo. And I'm going to use this to add details to the mustache and beard. So let's start with my must Josh, and make ten tiny strokes. If I feed the color is too dark. I can always go back and kind of adjusted with a little bit more water. And I'm going to add these dynein stray his mustache frost, like so. And then same kind of strokes near the beach. You know, just those raw food, hair. Other biota spin this. Okay. And then what I'm gonna do is I'm going to be creating tiny lines. You don't have to go in a certain direction. But make sure to change the value a little bit. Some can be towards the edges, some can be like this. In the center. Some can be dying n0. So this is how we make tofu hat. And I'm going to apply the same technique to these gloves which have tiny cute for like so. Let's go ahead and bend our gloves as value. So I'm gonna go ahead and beams these. Just to bring in some difference in value. I'm going to lift some mounded scholar student on the run. Going to add this doc governor here. Then I'm gonna rinse mantra. She come in with the team brash, and then spread to remaining color to create this sort of took law. Like so. Right? Since this feels a little faded to me, I will go ahead and glaze it with another layer. Again. I'm not going to give it like the same flat color. So I'm gonna go ahead and add this red colour towards the edges, like so. And then I'm gonna rinse my brush and spread to scholar across. Adding dynein flicks close to the beard. Spin. Like so. Probably adding little bit more of this right towards the coin. And I'm going to create a concentrated makes. And with this, we will go ahead and start mapping the noise. Tried to use a very thin brush and the eyes like so. Now to add some depth and shadow on the face and another. And this time you wouldn't want to increase a little bit. And I'm just going to add it towards the sides of the face like this. And this. Gonna rinse my brush and just blend this night. So be very careful because the eyes might still be read. And you don't want that brown sepia too. He didn't do this, can be very mindful of that. Just spread this color like this and just doing a little bit of glazing sorts. Ideally, you'd want to wait till the eyes and mouth dry. Then you can go ahead and add some shadows to the face. Now vital, this face is still wet. I go ahead but very diluted pink color to create this blush. Now this is extremely optionally. You can choose to skip this altogether, doesn't matter. But I like to do it when the entire skin areas with, because then that gives it this nice diffused look. And those rosy beautiful chicks, which I'm so fond, often cute characters. And finally, we will go ahead and add our Mount towards one site. I'm going to define the moustache a little bit more. It meets the other one. So I'm gonna go ahead and do that. I'm going to create very quick short strokes to mimic the hair. And just barely using the tip of my brush to do this like this. And you can also go ahead and add some more detail with a slightly darker color towards the fire if you wanted to. But make sure it's like extremely tins. Tiny details. Also reinforced that coil that we created for the mustache. It almost got lost in her watercolor. So I'm going to reinforce that. Dynamo hands strokes towards the edges. And the four loves. And finally, I'm going to create the slit forearm Bay. Alternatively, you can also choose to paint the bell in gold. That would also make the card look even more festive. Now I'm going to do add white checks until this part of the Normans try. Okay, so I'm done with this, and then this pit looks dry to me. So what I'll do next is I will take my pH Martin's bleed through fight. It's just writing here. So I'm gonna create, take horizontal lines. And while I'm doing that and try to keep them equal distance apart, but you don't have to worry about it. It's fine if they're not completely equidistant. And then I will make a baton with vertical lines, which is, I'm gonna make one single vertical line followed by two vertical lines. And you'd want to have a steady hand for this. And that's it. We are done with our first greeting card. Let's move on to the next one. 8. Painting Poinsettia Part I: Okay, so the first thing that we will do is I'm going to start erasing lightly the pencil marks so that beaches tau a light guide and there are no harsh pencil lines. Next up, we will go ahead with very light wash of how Winsor Newton, right deep and Alizarin crimson. And you would want to make sure that washes extremely light. I'm making a swatch here so that you can see in match. So this looks good to me. Soils start adding color to my first pet. Make sure to use the tip of the whenever you are trying to define the edges and the belly of toothbrush towards the center of the petal. And while this is surveyed, I'll go ahead and take slight amounts of quinacridone cold. And I'm gonna drop it in certain areas where I want to create a highlight. So kind of like the pedal glows in certain areas, safe it we're in the sunlight. So that's what we're trying to recreate. Next, let's go again with a lighter color and start painting our next beta_2. Again while it still read, I'm gonna drop in the darker colors towards the center edges. And then sometimes towards the curves and wraps around the petals. That's also where I may add little bit of the stock of Gallo. Also, if parts of your petals have dried up and you've just added Sedaka color. You can transfer your brush of unused the damn trash to gently blend. That way you'll get a nice gradation and there will be no harsh lines. Let's take this petal next and I'll start adding lighter wash. Othar read very carefully going around the edges and then using the belly of the crash to fill up the center. Since there are a lot of curves in edges on the speckle, I'm gonna go ahead with my Dhaka Carla, and I'm going to define some of the edges as bell. So this time we'll be adding it doth Center, as well as adding a doors, these footprints that this budget creates. Similarly, I'm gonna go ahead and approach all the other petals. First, beginning with the lighter wash, gently mocking in defining the outlines and then filling in the insides. Then going ahead with the darker color and adding it towards the center or variable, I perceived there might be a shadow on the battle. Feel free to also add quinacridone gold to certain areas just to print out that nice warm glow and these buttons. So I'll continue filling out petals like this in the same manner. I'm going to speed this up a bit so that we can move on to the next part. You can just posit here and take your own time and then resume once you are done with your petals aspirin. Next up we will be going ahead with the petals which are behind our first layer of petals. So, but these, the trick is to create a darker wash to begin with, especially near the areas which are being overlapped by these former petals. And then as you, and then as we move towards the tip of the speckled backward petal, we will make it lighter. So this is what is gonna give us lots of depth and bring out the fact that these patterns are sort of changed in layers. 9. Painting Poinsettia Part II: Let's attempt our second backward bedroom. So once again, I'm going to use the tip of my impression to gently mark the outline. And then I'm going to use the belly of my rush to fill in the center. Now once I'm gonna be done with the initial layer of my wash, I am going to go ahead with many dark shade of red and added towards the center. And specifically where the other Petals on top are overlapping, the S1, S3 will continue adding color to our second level of petals in the same manner. 10. Painting Poinsettia Part III: Again, this is my Sap Green mixed with a lot of swatter. Now I'm using a cool green and dropping it like so. And finally, I'm taking my dark green color and just adding it towards the edges. So we're done with this as well. And then we have our last leaf, which is this one. So once again, the lighter Walsh here. So make sure to always use the tip of the plush whenever you are trying to bend near the edges. And when you're in the center, you can all these generously gives the belly of the brush. Now since this pectoralis overlapping this leave, I'm gonna add my darker green color right here. Justice suggest that datasets shadow, which is coming because this leaf as behind these two battles. And to bring in my highlight, I'm going to add little bit of yellow right here. And on some tiny amounts of my green right where my dog prints x. And I'm going to take line down, brush and just blend everything out. So yeah, this is it for our leaves will wait. Try. In the meantime, you can see that our sedia has tried. However, if you look at it, it appears a little faded to me with gallows, specifically with dreads exempting, which usually occurs. So what we will do now is we will go ahead and do releasing. Now glazing as a watercolor technique, which is simply brought you first Madonna color. Let it dry, and then you take another color and you put on top of it. So what you're trying to do here is, for example, you see these yellow bits, then you will put or dark red color on top of it. The scholar would shine through even that red. So that's what like pleasing Rowley brings out. So what I'm gonna do now is I'm going to prepare a wash of red color. And this time I'm going to use more of my Windsor very deep and less of Alizarin crimson. And you'd want a wash to be light. Some. Let me swatch it out here. Yeah. This looks nice. So it's not too dark. It's not during night. Probably I've mixed enough color and I'm going to swatch it out again. Yeah, this looks perfect. So now I'll go ahead and start glazing. So while M glazing, this also gives me an opportunity to add more doc do my already darker shadows. That's also something I can do. Now I'm going to give this half psi tread and I'm gonna rinse my brush off and just go in and blend this out. Because I really like the kind of effect this gifts. And then while everything's so I'll take the doctors don't afraid that I have. So go ahead and add it again towards the center, just reinforcing those shadows, moles are going to add little amounts of it towards the edges. Once again, I'm gonna rinse my brush and Chen K blended inside. Yeah, the speculum is done so you can observe and see instantly that there is a huge difference between this do this one and this one still looks a little faded. Wherein this looks way life friend and much like you know, how it's come to life, kind of surveillance, deliberate. You can do one more thing. Can go ahead with a slightly darker value of red and give it a small vein. So because it's still with, and we're adding this mean, it's not gonna look too harsh. And instead it's gonna give it this nice natural diffused effect. Certainly, but had that and we'll come back to it later. Now let's go and look at this peddler. Since it has these yellow parts, you'll be able to see how pleasingly looks much better on this one. I'm just coming with almost clean water on this one. I think it requires some kind of boost. So I'm gonna add out. Okay, and then I'm gonna take my dark red color. And let's reinforce our center shadows. Perfect. Little bit here. Just a tiny bit. Ok, so this looks good to me. I'm going ahead with a darker color and just adding leaves, the vanes like this. Okay. And I let it be. 11. Painting Poinsettia IV: Now that we're done with this, I'm going to take again our Winsor Newton rate. This is the consistency we're going for. And I'm gonna go ahead and create these rings. Not since I don't want them to be a bit harsh. I'll go ahead and take out some of the Gulf 19 buffing it, creating these reshapes. Making sure to gently take away some of the edges. Sometimes you might have to reinforce. And that's okay. Now we'll go ahead with the greens. So I'm gonna take the green color, dark green color and kind of layer the reins. Quite similar to how we did for the points FDR bitly weights. Again, I'm bout the edges a bit that we don't have me harsher edges. So now we'll go ahead and add some details with this gold ink from Winsor Newton. Make sure to give it a nice shake. And let's dive straight into creating those Center details and gold. You'd want them to wait a little quickly because it tries to separate again. And the idea is you want to do it while it's dinner, mixed. Similar sizes of D. So goods. You can make some small, some big. And it just defines our center so much route and you can see the veins of leaves. So I'm me. So I'm pretty much done right now. And some things don't floss, right? And this completes our etc.. You can go ahead and add your sentiment. So this is one way of doing it. Or you can even get it printed. And we're going to use this Benton sign Ben, to be let down this Merry Christmas. Now let's move on to our Christmas tree treating God. 12. Painting Christmas Tree: Alright, so now we'll get started with Christmas tree cleaning. God. So these are a couple of shades of green that I have picked out. So make sure that you pick lots of green shade. Some can be lighter greens, midtone rings, and then you can have some darker values as well. This is the most simple of the greeting cards we have been working with. I'm taking my three numbers exist thrushes and I'm loading them up with different shades of grains. So this one right here has the lightest shade. And then I have this which are slightly more cooler, don't cream. And then this one has darker green Gullah. Now you can see that I have removed the triangle guidelines. Instead. I went ahead and added these gov strokes with pensive. So how these work is they are very tiny at the top. And as you progress downward, the distance between them keeps increasing. And so let's get started. I'll be taking this lighter green color first. And just with the flick of mine fresh, I'll create tiny strokes like this. And you can create some in the center as well. And make sure to leave some headspace. This had too much watching approach, so not able to get them nice and crisp. I have taken out some water. No, I'll take the cooler green shade and delta same sum, just swiftly creating these strokes and adding in different screens. While things as TO kinda correct. So I'm gonna keep rotating the colors like that. Make sure to give it this nice curve. To the topmost part of these leaves. Feel free to load up your brush with more faint and water. If you feel that it's running out. I'm just adding these darker greens towards the bottom of these like leaves. Sub I for, I mean, those conifer trees, right? Or the pines. This is what this kind of tree reminds me. Towards the bottom, I'll go ahead and add that. Sometimes I may add a deal was the top has fail. And that's totally fine to Now, you may choose to give it some shape. And I'm going to do that. I'm going to let this dry. Meanwhile, let's add little bit of promo to green, and that will give us a nice brown color. You can add cool green ROM read to get a very nice muted Brown. Let's make it a bit more interesting. And violet, the truck, you can choose to go ahead and drop in some more pigment towards the edges just to bring out some more shadows. Now for our last step, I'll take my darkest green color. And I add it leaves. Thus creating more depth and dimension. By introducing these shadows. Some not good, overdo it just a tiny bit here and there. You can also choose to add some in the center. Sometimes you can also choose to go back with damp brush whenever you feel that the strokes are a little too harsh and soften them a bit. For the most part, we are done with our Christmas tree. Now we can go ahead and create our star tradeable. For that, I'm going to take our number-one trash and our goal Winsor Newton joining, make sure to give it a nice shake. So you can see that this ink is surely magical and it separates and of a beautiful way. So make sure to use it to wireless all mixed. I have my star guideline here. So just go ahead and fill it in quickly before it starts updating again. So now the only thing that remains is adding a sentiment. So just go ahead and add your sentiment here. That's it. And now we're done with our Christmas tree treating God. 13. Final Thoughts: I hope you had fun creating these lovely greeting cards, and I'm so glad that you joined me today.
