About This Class

So you want to start hand lettering? Are you overwhelmed by all of the options that you see on Instagram from your favorite letterers?

There are so many options for hand lettering, but it's important that you choose what's best for you at the stage you're currently working through.

In this class, I'll explain the tools that I think are appropriate for a beginner. I'll discuss some of the most popular pens and brush markers as well as everyday tools you likely already have in your home.

The tools I reference in this class can all be found on Amazon:

Sketching Pencil

Crayola Markers

Tombow Hard & Soft Tip Set

Pentel Fude Touch

Tombow Dual Brush Pen

Canson Marker Paper

Tracing Paper

Great overview of lettering tools with demonstrations of each, and wonderful advice on which tools to use as a beginner so you don't waste money on materials you're not ready for. Alyssa has a great voice and easy-to-follow demonstrations that are just right if you're ready to dip your toe into hand lettering. Thanks!
great demo of pen types to start lettering!
I am new to brush lettering and there are so many products out there. This course was very informative. It helped me to decide which pens to use. The content was very accurate.
