1. intro: for in this class, I'm gonna show you how to create your own princes fabric. I will show you how to create your own piece with the help of spoon flour. It's a site where you can create your own custom fabric with a repeat batter and or just a single swatch thing is also really helpful for people who want to display their illustrations in a unique way or graphic arts or their own fits our theme. I'll assure you how to trace over the ordinary. I'm gonna show you how you're gonna have the image and how are you gonna trace over it with threats basically and how it's gonna help you with your projects. This'll classes for anyone who likes mixed media and who loves photography, graphic art and likes different ways to display it. And there are so many options, and they would love to show you how many options there are and how easy it is to do it. I will also go over all the details on how to stitch your fabric concentrates over it. And in the project section, I you can upload your own footage are within your own picture, and I will give you all the details on rich colors to choose which TMC colors you can use for your projects so you will have a custom color scheme by me. 2. Tools you will need: in this part. I'm gonna show you all the tools you will be needing for the embroidery part. If you don't want to do to embroidery part and just wanna frame your fabric that you have printed, they could skip ahead and go to the section part at the end of the class on framing. What we're going to need is a hoop. This hoop has a diameter of 18 centimeter. It's just a wooden hoop, and it has a screw button on its up. You can see here even just unscrewed and put a fabric in and screw it back. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna put two fabrics together. This is the sulky Sophie. It's a saw water sellable stabilizer and the spoon flour fabric, and we're gonna combine it together and put in a new coupe, the Sochi, so V you can see the link below. It is, um, fabric kind of bay pre fabric that if you wash it, it dissolves. And the reason why we're gonna use it is because the fabric that I'm using is very, um, delicate. And if you put stump stabilizer under it, then it it can hold more treads, you can do more, and it's just better. And afterwards you can just put it in the water and it's done. So we're gonna unscrew it. First, put the stabilizer on a DeSoto sellable stabilising. It's quite a word. And then the far big This is always a bit of a difficult part to make sure that you hoping it ride, But it doesn't really matter that much because, um, but you can always change it. And we're also gonna change it a little bit because I want to have the whole sweater on it . I wanna stitched inside of shredders. Are we gonna have to move it eventually? Make sure you, um on the screw it Ah, enough so that it fits. And when it's fits, you bluff it in and you screw it back. Also, make sure that on the back does ah, Sochi, Solvay that it is nice insight so that everything is even. No, you have it. You screw it close. Screwed a close as much as you can. And in the process off stitching. Always make sure that it is Stace tight. So always pull that fabric so it stays. Site 3. Stitches that we will use: So we're going to practice the stitches. Um, that we're gonna use in the this project. First, I'm gonna show you the needle minus slightly bend, because Mom, that happened. But I'm still going to use it. Um, these air from DMC Ah. I will post a link in the description. All the stuff that you're gonna need for this project, I will put in a link. Um, these are DMC nails under buried 10. So you're gonna go up at your needle you're gonna use to once trend, you're gonna hold the tread you're still holding to tread an Ariana holding to tread anymore. You can let it go able sort itself out. So this is one of the stitches were going to use a lot. Now I'm doing showing you how to do it a bit the wrong way. You're gonna go in the utter tread. What I did here is I'm didn't go directly in the other tread. You have to really regal and get right in the middle of theater. You see, because now it is a straight line. They go in the other tread another bomb. What we're gonna use is 40 hair. We're going to go up. I'm not saying this is d way. The the you know, the the way you have to do it or, you know, this is the way I do it. So this is for the hair friends. You wanna, um, create shading. You're gonna make rose long and short and don't worried it or not that close together because you can just like you can just go in again. This right, you can make a bit longer. Do in. They go all the way up. It's a lot of different things you can do to get a better feeling off how to do it. I'm going to go us close as I can get and show you how to do it. Let me focus. Yes. So he you see the roads that we made. I'm going to make some more rose next to it. This color and I'm just going to repeat the same thing. But now you can see it from up close and see how it looks and he can see here. You can also see the mistake better that I made because you can see that with the first stitch. Um, it's a straight line that I didn't go. I I went a little bit next to it. Should they get a double stitch? So I didn't want into the stage, but a little bit next to this stage. And if you look there, if you in this stage, then it's just a nice line. Okay, so we're gonna make Rose again. Doesn't have to be perfect. Next each other. Sorry. If you hear noise, it's There's air. My guinea pigs drinking from no harder boto don't know how to get that sound out. You see that? I'm going slighting more next to it to cover the section is nice because you can make your own pattern, Which the long and short stage. Okay, so now I'm going to get a different color and see how you can blend it in. Okay, so now I'm gonna get a different color. Oh, slightly. Search doesn't matter, and you're just gonna There's not really dead. Um, wait. Mm. No, that's a bit too off. So you cannot go for one stage and and go like diag. Diagonal. I think that's English word. So make it straight. So here I'm not even doing, like, splits it and just going in, Squeezed a needle in the other trips. I always feel like it looks This looks more difficult than it is they give you See? It is and it looks That's dawn zing. But it's just also a matter of just doing it. I mean, who cares if you fill you pick it, You do it again, you go over it. Okay, So these air basically all the stitches you need to know to, um, to make this project. If you can do this than the project is piece of cake and yeah, I hope you're gonna continue its embroidery. 4. Uploading and ordering custom fabric with spoonflower: um an important thing to remember is that when you upload something to spoon flour is that you have to have a copyright free or you have to own it. So I think it's a good idea. It's always make sure that you have copyright free images and you have a website for it. They have amazing photography to choose from and there's so many it is unspool ash. And to get a riebel explored a website how to use the functions had to do search tools and eventually I will choose some pictures of them. So you go to down Splish website and you type in Seascape and you get all these amazing pictures three pictures of Seascapes and you can do endless scrolling. But I wanna have a sea escape would ago. So these are all all of them are really great pictures that you can use their grave for embroidery. I like that one and this one I'm going to use. So I'm gonna download this, Gonna download to foul. So now we're gonna go to spoon flour and I'm gonna show you how you can uploaded to spoon flour. So going to design upload and you choose your foul. You Rachel uploads and you have to do a confirmed copyright. That's why I think it's a good idea to use free images. So now you have this. I wanna have it censored. So it's not our repeats. I wanna have crept machine. That's two fabric I love. And I wanna have it on a sample and I gonna make it smaller. And here you see also how it's gonna look, um, in real life. So this is how you're going to get it. I'm gonna added to the church. If you want to be sure how your colors RL prints on what fabric and how it will look. Then you can also order the fabric sample back. You can see how all the colors look on different fabrics and papers. It's just $3 but they're very popular now, so you have to wait about to get them. But it is worth the wait. If you I want to be sure about your project, he would have some different fabrics that I ordered. Um, they look really nice. I'm gonna show you one and the one that we're gonna work with. This is one with a surfer girl on a really like it. And the background is also how I wanted it. Now I'm gonna show you the one that we're gonna work with. This one I really love how the colors ended up. I'm gonna show you from up close how it looks. I mean, a camera doesn't capture dot Well, but it's really nice. The girls look really nice on the shiny fabric, and it's very see true. Um, he looks really good. That shine is really nice, and it's really amazing how to print it. You really can see the details. 5. Embroidering hair : okay for the hair we're gonna use once trends for all the hairs. And we're going to begin with the light, Bart. So all those, um, spot, you see, Ready to be like the highlight right of light reflects the hair we're gonna use. Um, the light is scholar there. - I'm not gonna show you from up close, because, um, I did some part of the highlight, and I'm going to fill it with a slightly darker color. And if I wouldn't, um if I wouldn't do it up close, you wouldn't see the difference. I think in the color. So it's very subtle. It's a very subtle change of color that I'm using. You just going to use its technique where you ah, do is blitzed. It show you going to go in what you need on the other side. And this is now I'm using a darker color. Do you really just filling the space a different kind of shades of brown. So you following the lines from the, um, picture. So this is the darkest color that I'm using. And then you can really see how nice toe the really subtle differences in the colors. You're basically gonna repeat this everywhere? Um, yeah. On the hair to light for the reflection. Um, with subtle change of color. And there was a really dark brown should take to darker scholar. It's basically how you do it. So for the top of the hair, we're going to do well, actually, same thing, Although we now we're gonna do it in a straighter line. So you're just gonna look again for the the highlights from the sun, some first, catching all the the highlights that I really want to catch. And then I start making them away from the top till down. So I did all the highlights that I really wanted Teoh have there. And now I'm just gonna basically go from it's up of the head. I m working my way down, and you're gonna use different colors, so we're gonna just blend. So this is all sort of Do it just randomly, um, use heights, so I don't have a specific like, Oh, you have to, you know, long short, long, short and has to be the same high, especially hair is good if it's really uneven. Makes it more interesting. It's a colors with the blood ning so he could really see it from a close. How might how I do it. So I went from light to darker to do darkest. And I was, um, just a matter of blending it all in. But the large portion here is definitely the dark part. - So we're almost done with the hair and never gonna continue with this better. 6. Embroidering shirt: for the shirt we're going to use to strengthens, because otherwise it's gonna take a very long time. Um, for the shading, we're gonna use two strands. Sometimes once trend, she going to start somewhere in the middle, you're gonna make Rose of lines next to each other. This is basically, um, just filling this space with dread. Are you going to do it on even a bit too long? Short, Long, short. If you do it like the same length, you're going to see it from a distance. So it's better to do it long, short, long, short. And also, we're gonna blend it in. We're different colors to make the shading. So I'm just going to start with making Rose. This took me pretty long. So this is a little bit challenging because he can become quite a Jones after bit a bit boring. Yeah, So we're gonna fill it in older way to D next the other side of the sleep, and I'm gonna show you how to do the shadow on that side. Um, they can match it up with the other side later. Okay? So shading is a really difficult thing to do in my pay and especially clothes or skin color . Um, hair not so much, but with skin and closed. I think it's really difficult, but I'm doing here is I'm going in. Would a slightly dark agree and I'm just gonna follow the lines off the picture. This is really handy for me. I find it very difficult to do without these reference. So I'm basically, like tracing it with the slutty dark. Agree We're gonna fill that end with, uh, medium grayish tones. Sen. I'm using, like, a really dark gray to go in in those really dark shades. It may be look really dark now, but when it all blends in, it looks really good. So now we're going back to the normal, um, grade. And as you can see, it's already like, really coming nice together, and it's blending really nice, and we're just going to continue doing up. So here we have the end result of this side of, um sleeve, and you're just gonna do the same thing on the other side. 7. Embroidering Neck: as the last part we're going to do to Nick. And we're gonna go sideways because the shading, as you can see in the picture, is also sideways. So and it's a nice change to have a different direction off shading. So we're gonna begin with the darkest part because as you can see, the picture that also like, closer to hairline, the skin is darker than at the end. And I'm gonna use a slightly, um, lighter color, and we're just gonna repeat Ah, what we did before she gonna go in and make Rose for the last broad. I'm gonna use the lightest color and this happens similar in when I do emb orderly. Because when I look at it now and I'm using the the lightest color, I do think to myself like the darkest color that I use doesn't blends well with the two other colors. In my opinion, I think the other ones are more orangey, and the dark color is more to the red. So what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna go ahead and take another color and I'm not gonna come pick, but I'm going to cover it up. I do that because I'm picking is. But first of all, I'm picking is the worst. It's just Nobody really likes it, but it's also it saves you time. And it's also nice that you still slightly concede the other color under needs. Okay, so now I'm gonna show you how to cover up that other color I'm now gonna use. Ah, color that is a little bit more flash tone and a little more orangey and bit different. So I'm just gonna go over all the other over the other color just to cover it up and, um, blended in with other color. In the end, I think it looks ready. Nicer. Sometimes it happens that you look at it from a distance and like, um, no, actually, And then it's very easy to government. That's what I like about embroidery. As you can see, it looks no way better than with the the call of the color that I used before. It's now cause vaults now done. The only thing is, it is the ears. Um, I didn't put it on film because it's just straightforward. Just a couple of lines, um, used to colors, and you blend it in a bid. It's, you know, basically the same thing, and then we're now going to wash its 8. Washing the fabric: So we're all done and it looks really pretty. I love it. It's really nice to background, but, um stitch, hair and sweater, the shirt, the neck. So what we're now going to do, we're going to get it out of the hoop, and we're gonna cut away as much off the sellable fabric is needed because we want to wash away as little as much as possible. I'm gonna use a bull off water. It's just water, nothing else in it. So I'm gonna cut away all the excessive, um, Seoul herbal fabric that's hanging on this side. And, well, this is just a scissor that was really close to me. But maybe use a better scissors than this. So I'm gonna cut away all the unnecessary sellable fabric because it doesn't get, you know, you eat, you want to wash it away, but got as much off. It's also good to reuse it. So here we have it, almost del BCE, and I'm gonna put it in. And as you can see, it's just gone. But in a few seconds. But after that, you wanna rinsed it off. Good. What I do is just most difficult for me. to film it. But what I do is I am rinsed it off under the tap. She just let it soak for a while. I am just like Dabiq it under. And then we're gonna go to the tab and wash enough unleaded dry. 9. Framing fabric in hoop: So now it's dry. It's a little bit. I don't know if you guys also feel that, but it's a bit harder than it was in beginning. I don't know how that is what it is. Anyway, it's still fun. What we're gonna do is we're gonna cut away all the loose treads on the side. Don't worry that it will not look good or that that it would fall off or that the trends will come out. It wounds. Um, you can always secure it with glue using embroidery scissors, and now we're gonna put it into hoop. So I was selling you that we're gonna use the position of them hoop because I don't want to stem to see the I don't want you to see them not stitch Bart. And I like it when it's completely stage. Still the bottom. And then if I turn it around, just gonna make it really secure, just pulling everything a bit so that it's nice and tight and screw the screw dinging. Um, this crew, our I don't know, I would call it I'm really close. Okay, so this is not my strongest part, but this is how I do it. I used textile glue again. You can find it in my description. Um, and I'm gonna put the textile glue on a piece of fabric first. I'm gonna cut out excessive fabric, so yeah, I can I can imagine that for people, it's a bit scary because it's like, Oh, God, what if I cut too much off? You won't. You can always You have to have. You have to got a lot of because you're gonna wrap it double over to hoop, and you don't want to see it on the other side. So you will need to Got a lot off. I couldn't find my fabric Scissors, You know, the ones that have, like these, um, like that it's wavy like a wave scissors. You guys, You know what I mean on that? Looks way better. Couldn't find it, But normally I do, Dad. And then you get, like, a nice, um even look pain. Yes, I'm using a piece of fabric that I'm going to trow away, and I'm putting it owned up because I knew myself a little squeeze too hard, and then it will like, like all over the place. Um, trying to avoid up. I think it's trying to remarkable how I did it. Just out of the camera shop whips, but you get the bit you just put the the glue. Yeah. There you go. On the fabric. So then if I put it when I put it on the fabric, I'm now gonna put it smeared out on the top of the the lid, and I'm gonna put it over the fabric and then you can also use, um, paintbrush. You just gonna folded over. - So now we're done. Just gonna have selected dry. Um, thank you so much for joining me in his class. Um, can't wait to see what you all gonna make and please leave me. Feedback. Good, bad. Doesn't matter. Thank you so much.
