About This Class

About this class:

This class is all about Visual Texture, which is the illusion of physical or actual texture in a painting. That means you can create the look of texture on your surface while the surface remains flat.

Texture, like any of the elements of art, can enhance and support the concept behind your work. Some artists use texture to influence our response to their work. In any work of art, however, texture can draw us in so we spend more time with the work.

Texture can be visual or actual. Because this is such an in-depth subject, there are three classes on texture in order to keep the information bit size and digestible for you. The next two classes will cover actual or physical texture using gesso and acrylic gels.

  • To make your paintings even more dynamic - no hummers.
  • What type of 'tools' needed to create visual texture.
  • How to create visual texture in many different ways.
