Project Description

Try a Creative Challenge prompt!

Ready, set, make! Now that you know the secrets to shareable online content, it's your turn.

Try one of the Creative Challenge prompts, then share your work in the class Project Gallery. Use this Skillshare class as a resource and community for sharing feedback.

Lesson Notes

  • Shareable content is content that people enjoy enough to pass along to other people. People share content as an expression of themselves!
  • Shareable content strikes a balance between relatability and originality. The key to relatability is identity, and the key to originality is having an opinion/point of view.
  • Voice is what will set you apart from everyone else. Your identity is what you are, and your voice is how you communicate.
  • Your goal—whether you're writing, tweeting, or filming—is to get people to say "that's something I've always noticed but never found the words for!" Go after that reaction.
  • Your content will only get better through the struggle of making it. Write, film, create, and post. Learn and grow from each piece you do, and it will get better over time!

Matt's Creative Challenges

  • Creative Challenge #1: List 15 identities that are true to you.
  • Creative Challenge #2: Pick one identity from the previous challenge, and list 40 things only that identity would understand.
  • Creative Challenge #3: Tweet about a new trending topic every day for 5 days.
  • Creative Challenge #4: Analyze a favorite video and identify what makes it great.

What to Share on Skillshare

  • Share your notes, process, questions, and final work.
  • Try one or several Creative Challenges.
  • If you're already posting work online, share a link to your writing, Twitter, or YouTube.
