1. What Is Design and who can learn it: Let's talk about design. The first thing, which I always ask my assurance, is, What do you think design is? No. The first thing that I tell them is that the difference between design and art art is emotional and abstract. Design is not like that. So design is basically mathematical, has some business implications and business sides, and it is basically a problem solving skill. So design is elated to problem solving. When you are going to use, you are going to solve the problems for the users and for the business. So in that process, you are going to use analysis, analytical scares, human psychology and behavior. How the humans are going toe have perception about this project, what they are going to perceive using these colors off this scheme or this information on this package. So these are all the things that are the bigger difference between design and art, although you are going to use just 10% off the art, but all the rest 90% is going to be size and mets. So this is the main thing. I wanted to tell you that if its size and Matt, it's a skill, it is not a talent, so anybody can learn it. So if you are a developer or you are an S e o person or a manager's, you can learn design. And also one more misconception about design is that I cannot draw so I cannot design. So my drying is pretty bad. It is not very good. You just have toe, you know, just you need to know that how toe draw a few basic shapes. That is all you need to know on. You need to learn for designing. So whenever you're sketching something or any idea, it is going to be very rough on. And I think a good gang do it so anybody can learn the design. So that is all about this design, what is designed and anybody can learn it. And if you are not from a design background, then this course is for you. You are going to learn all about design and how toe improve your design skills, using different principles using different methodologies and different tricks and tips. I have developed in the past 8 to 10 years. So let's move on to the next lesson. 2. Business Side of Design: Okay, Now we're going to talk about what the designer is going. Toe build or water designer actually do. And what is the definition off a good designer. Okay, so the design is basically problem solving for your users and similarly for the business. So design has two ends, basically. So if this is designed, this is your These are your users. And on the other end, the connected is the business or the stakeholders that have invested and they want toe. You know, there their goals will be different. So on one end users they want, maybe they want a website lord as very fast or they want their product. Toby reached to them within one day. Okay. They may be looking for a label on any product that there is the label off 100% organic. I want I am looking for that information. But from the business point of view, it might be different. They might want the toe penetrate the market. They want their product to be sold mawr toe elderly people. Or maybe for the Children. They want their product. Toby attracted by Children. Ok, so these are different goals in mind. So the design or the designers task is toe. Combine them into one solution. So they are going to produce a solution that is going to solve the users problem and also the businesses problem. So that is the main problem, which I have seen in a lot off young designers. They try to, you know, create solutions that are very attractive and very using very popular spink purple, purple blues. And this is a trend these days. So if you look at and dribble, I normally think that most off those designs are useless. Why is that? Because they are not solving any problem. They are just showing off their design muscles that I can design something like that or something like that at their school. This looks school, so they are basically showing their design mostly to the other designers. So if you are building a product and it works and functions and it Ah, it isn't very beautiful, it is going toe beat all the other APS or all the other products because it is functional. And it is it is solving the users problem. So, um, so this is the main concept. I want to give you that. What does a design do? And what does? Designer, What is that job off a good designer. So you are going to solve that problem by using different colors, different layouts on different human psychology behaviors. You're going to apply all that in your designs. You You might also need to research on your users that what their needs are or something like that. So that is all about design, business and juicers and problem solving. So you soon in the next lesson. 3. Don't Depend on Design Tools: in this lesson, I'm going to talk about another very important thing, which is depending on tools. So if you are a designer and you want to design something, I have seen a lot of designers that they try to debate over different doors. That sketch is the best tools for the shop as old bag and something like that. Never try toe focus on tools, so tools are there to help you build a better design. If you are a good designer, if you know how to use colors if you know how to use typography if you know how to build different layouts, you can do that in any program. You can use any air. Whether sketch Adobe Illustrator it'll before the shop. It'll be X'd or obey in design. Whatever you are using, you can use that software or app to build your designs. So if someone has good knowledge of design and know how to design something, they can use any tool. So never try Toby, depending on your tools. Never tried toe. You know, depend or live for that tool because right now, if it's sketch or effects that we actually maybe in the next 10 years The tool stools, my change. There might be something else. Eso don't try toe. Take them seriously or don't try to, you know, take them over. You are the designer. You are in control. You can do that with any tool. You just need to get familiar with the short cuts off that, uh, name tool. If, for example, if I'm trying to learn sketch are will be. Actually, the first thing I would do is I would try to get familiar with the interferes. Try to know how to use type TTL shape tools are different colors. I can how? I can use those. So that is all I need. Once I'm familiar with that tool, I can use that. Maybe it will take me one month Mex Or maybe but maybe two weeks if I use it regularly. So that is all doing so. Don't try to depend on tools. Try to learn design skills. Once your design, you you have a good base in design. You can do that using any tools. So that is all for this video. I hope you have enjoyed this. If you have any questions, you can ask me. Let's move on to the next video 4. Primary Goal of Design: Let's talk about the purpose off design. So any design, whether it's slated to branding by the isolated mobile app, design, digital devices or even a TV ad or anything you see in the billboards or any advertisement , there is a single most prominent goal, a single goal in that design. So before starting out any design, you need to find that ghoul and you need to design for that goal. For example, if I am designing a landing page than my client wants, May Wars the users to sign up for the free pdf to download. Maybe that is their main purpose. Get more subscribers similarly, and another landing page. Maybe their main focus is toe splay that video, which is about their product. So maybe they want the users to play on Bosch and educate them about their product. So, similarly, if a business card, if you see a business card, there might be information to get more projects rather than introduce yourself. So these are different goals, and they are going to guide your design. So whenever you start designing for Web sites or any project, you need to ask your clients. Just one main question. What is the purpose off this design? What is the main goal? What more? What do you want to accomplish with this design? What are you aiming for? So once they have answered these questions, you need to write them down. And also you need to investigate a little bit the same goal from the user's perspective. So you have written the business school or the client school that they want this to achieve this from on this Web side. This at this product page. Now you want right down and research a little bit about the user. So what are the user needs? Work. Actually, the user wants. Maybe they want to get some information about the product. Maybe it's a whether it's organic or inorganic or stuff like that. So you need to write that down toe so there will be two goals. One is from the user's perspective, and one is from the business perspective, and you need to keep them in focus when you are designing anything. So this is actually the purpose off any design, and you need to follow these two basic steps. Get the primary ghoul objective off your design from users perspective and from a business perspective and try to combine them and create our create design that is going to solve both the goals. So I hope you haven't destroyed this concept. If you have any questions to ask me, let's move on to the next list. 5. Blank Canvas Fear: Whenever you start your design, the biggest fear you are going to feel for the first time is your blank atmosphere. Now, what is blank can was whenever you start your design, you click on a new file or new art board. You are going to see a blank Enver sent. You are not able to see what you were going to put over there. What colors you are going to use. What is the layout you want to use? Overhit. So these are the frustrations. They are going tobe end up in your mind and you are going to get afraid off starting your design. This happens even with me, even with experience designers. So whatever your level of experience is, this is going to happen. So don't get afraid off it. There are many techniques, steps and matters which you which are go. I'm going to show you in the next lessons which are going to help you build your design step by step and without getting confused and without getting into frustration and fear off blank, endless. So stay tuned and I'm going to show you a lot of things in the next lessons about how to overcome this a blank canvas fear. So whenever you start your design, try to use those tips. If you have any questions to ask me, let's move on to the next lesson. 6. Never design without content: in this and we're going to talk about the content and why we need that before we even start our design. Now, you might have heard the very famous court That content is the king. So it is the king, even in the design, because there are a lot of things that depends on it. Okay, So keep in mind that content is very important. Know why the content is very important even in design, Because it is going to shape your design, Your whole layout off, your design is going toe depend on it. It is going to shape the design team. For example, if your text copy is very romantic or something like that, your design is going toe. Show that similarly, if your copy text is showing that your design is very modern and your images you got from your client that are very modern look, they have very sleek and slim look than your design is going to change. So keep that in mind. That content is going to change the shape off your design. It is going to change the team off your design. So these are the things you need to keep in mind. no. In the last lesson, I have talked about how to overcome your feel off blank and was So if you are afraid of blank and with the first step is that never start without content. So if you're designing for a website, mobile, app or any lending page, never, ever start without the content. Now the content is going to include the copy text images you are going to use in your design. Any icons are any illustrations. So before you start your design, ask your client that please provide me the corporate tax and all the images you want me to , you know, use in that design. So this is going to help you. Ah, lot never start with without any content, even your whole layout off your design. Most of the designers I have seen that the based, their grades and the columns and whole layout based on the content. So this is very essential tip. I hope you have loved it and see you soon. In the next lesson 7. Examples Designing without content: Now I'm going to show you some examples off how the content is going to shape your design. Now here I have a design from a very create design agency called Creative. And this is their dribble page. You can see K r e a t i v a. Anyhow, you can see this is ah, team off a website. Now you can see the images off the products over here like this one or this one. This one or this one. They are very clean and minimalistic and modern layout off. So Fars and all those things. Okay, Most of the images are on white, so you can see how their designer is basically using that and using very calm and very cool colors. Very modern pale colors or pastel colors on the background and most of the site is white. Also, you can see that the text our text copy is very 10 and you can see that here you can see just the product name by the designer and the price that is all. And ah, similarly over here you can see this is again the same thing price designer and the product name. So if you are designing something like that. You can You can adopt the minimalistic team or minimal team where you can just keep things like this Use a lot off white space. So this is one example. Okay, so moving to the new example the next one. Okay, so here we have another website and it is from designed by raffle tamal. Andi, I really I'm falling. This designer, I really love his style. Okay, so this website is very content heavy. You can see it is a blogger or block based website. So the design is going to be totally different. You can see over here here we have two columns. Basically the left one is far bigger and which is for text and write One is very 10 which is for more content. So this is how this whole website is laid out. And you can see these two websites have totally differently out different Ah, differently outs and different copy UK. So the copy is totally different. You can see one big image than a lot of text. But the previous upside it has many images like three or four or in some portions are areas or sections and very less text. So let's see one more example. Okay, so here is a website off additional agency called Crafted and I got it from a bards. They have won many awards. Now you can see this is their portfolio websites, so they have limited. There. You can see copy text to very small, like two or three lines makes for each section. No, If you look on the other sections, you can see they have a lot of images to show. So they are using very big images in three columns. So this is their you can say idea. Then there are two columns over here to show the featured work and our capabilities. Some recognitions featured clients. So, you know, you can see what is the idea off this content and your design So you can see here we don't have too much content or it is not a very content heavy website, but it is just to showcase their work. So the layout or design is totally different rather than content heavy or copy? Heavy website. So these are the things that are going to matter. You are going to build the whole layout off your design based on the content you have. So if you have very less content, for example very less copy Which is, I think is the vato Go that died. Reduce your copy. You have a lot off possibilities. You can use the whole canvas for that small copy and make it You can see Brilliant. Like you can see over here. The whole focus is on this area. So this is how you the content is going to shape your design. I hope you have enjoyed these examples. Let's move on to the next lesson. 8. Expose Yourself To Good Designs: now in this. Listen, I'm going to talk about another tip which is going to help you get out off the blank and was fear. And also it is going toe help you create experiences and designs that are awesome and brilliant. Okay, So the first thing which a lot of designers don't know is that whenever you create something or design something, that design is going to reflect the designers experience. So for example, if I am working with an agency where I have like three or four designers that are very that uses and designs very minimalistic styles are very simple designs. Whenever I am going toe, you know, get into that agency and work with those designers. My work is going toe start reflecting at that style. So every human, whenever you create something, they create something from their experience. It could be past experience. It could be the things you have seen around you. So these are going to build your experiences now how we can get those experiences and form them into our great designs. So always feed your mind with create and good designs. Now, this is a tip given to me like 5 to 8 years ago by my younger brother, who is also a designer. And he told me that your exposure to great design is going to help you a lot in creating good designs. So what I want you to do is just too simple. Tips. Number one is tried to watch other designers creating their designs. See, what are they? Why have the chosen toe discolor, or why? How they are planning their design, how they're laying out their cribs and things like that. So this is the first step watch and learn fasting. Second thing is that try to expose yourselves to great designers and great designs. There are many websites which I normally you know, go daily and I normally try to, you know, save those designs I have you can say, like stored thousands off designs on my BC from Bihar start nerd and from table and all other places. Whichever designed I like. I try toe, you know, save it to my desk and I have made different folders and that is how I expose myself to great designs. Now the 30 is that ideas are going to generate more ideas. So if you think that you can generate ideas from thin air, and then I think you might be a magician. You are not a human, so the first thing high are always try to tell the bigger designers or even the ah expert designers that door. Try to limit yourself, expose yourself toe every kind of design, whether it's branding, design, whether it's more Web mobile app, design, landing page design, photography, our logo designs because you are going to get a lot of create ideas. So if you look at even for photography and you will see that how the for ah photograph for he has managed to, you know, highlight his subject in their photographs. What are the colors he Ah, he is trying to use or, ah, how he's locating his subject in the surrounding environment or something like that? So these are going to generate more ideas into your brain, so try to expose yourself to great designs, whatever kind of design that is. It could be in any mission, or it could be cartoons or could be enemy. You watch. Or it could be a TV shows. You can get ideas everywhere. If you look at any TV sees even foreign from Netflix or whatever. The the brilliant shows they have some color team into them. So if it's school or effects, I see they're going to use blues in the surrounding. Also on the clothes off those actors, they're going to be Bill great or dark grey or blues in them. So these are going to get you more ideas on hard to design your color schemes and hard to design great looking designs. So this is the biggest tip I'm going to give you in this lesson. I hope you have enjoyed it and you will look for and create designs. And there are three websites I'm going to show you know which you can find great inspirations and create ideas. Let's see, What are those, the first website I ever go to for inspiration or for exposing myself to greet designs? Is Bihar starting it? So this is be Haas website and you can see there are a lot of great designs over here. Whichever project I like, I am going to, you know, for example, this one eye open up, open it up and try to see what are the color schemes and how the layout has been done. So everything like that. So you can see over here. I like the colors off this one. So I'm I'm going to save it on my desktop. So then I'm going to arrange it, and you can see here you can see all the colors, so I'm going to save those colors to my colors. Inspiration folder on typography Real big and quest. Really? I'm going to look out for these or see how they have combined those via framing. I'm not interesting right now. Ah, Then there are things like this. Okay, so I really like this one. It is very big and bold. So this is how I normally try to do, um, the inspirational expose myself. Great designs. Okay, so also, you can see I normally try toe see these three D illustrations or things like that over here. I love these. Okay, so let's move to the next website, which I normally go for inspiration. Okay. This is ah, large website, and ah, whenever you go to this website, you are going to find too many creative cos you can say competing together, toe win their, um, bottle here. So you can see you can click on any designs like this one is really like the colors over here. And if you you can vote for them, they are basically competing. And you can also visit those websites so you can see over here. This is, um, their website. I really love it. Great colors on greed interactions. Then a few Any missions going beyond behind um and ah, screens moving screens. Okay, so very different layout. Okay, So this is how I try to get some inspiration. So if I like something, I'm going toe take the screenshot off This website on the third website I like is tribble most off thes you eyes over here they're missed mostly show off. But some of them are really useful. Like you can see over here. I can see create combination off Thies to die faces. So I'm going to save it like that also, you can see this is a great layout shown by this Mike person. My creative mints. This is one off my favorite designers. If I am not mistake And this is Mike from Creative Mints, I'm following him on Behar's and on dribble toe. So I'm going to shows, um, a lot off examples from his designs because he's very create designer. Anyhow, So this is another website. Also, I'm going to show you toward three more. Okay, this is one more inspiration. You way. I'm going to link all those links in the in this lesson, as the resource is, so you can check them out. There are different sections off these websites. And if you want to go to see the pattern or here, for example, I want to see the designs of a pop up because I'm designing a pop up. You can go over here like that and see different dialogues coming up like that. And ah also, you can check out other designs. I don't like this website much, but no, I'm going to shift to another one, which is you. I get it. And in this website idly love how it has been managed because all the categories are on the left side. For example, if I want to see this Congress, I'm going to click on it. It is going to show me all the designs from that category like you can see over here. These are all the designs Okay, so these are basically navigation patrons, Poorly navigation, and ah, you're going to see over here. So this is another website. You get it. I like how it has been, you know, laid out with different patrons. So I hope you have enjoyed these inspirational websites. My top, but is behind start net because there are, ah lot of professional teams and agencies over there. And awards is also another one. And dribble this tree on the top ones you can look for others to. I hope you have enjoyed this lesson. If you have any questions, you can ask me, let's small one to the next lesson. 9. Stealing ideas from other Designs: now in other fields off work stealing might be different, but in design, all art stealing ideas from others is going to help you a lot. Now stealing is not basically coping. It is generating ideas from other ideas. So you are going to combine like 10 different ideas to create a new idea. So it is not going to be a copy off that design. So make sure that you understand what is the difference between stealing and copying. So there's a great book which is called Steal Like an artist. If you have time, try to read this by Austin Cheon, and you will understand what I'm talking about because no idea is original. Every idea has already been thought by some person in the past, So if you think that you are creating a very innovative design already innovative logo, it isn't true. You are generating that from different ideas you have seen or experienced. So this is the difference between ceiling and copping. Now, whenever you start your design, you are going to start your designs with at least minimum 2 to 3 design inspirations. So, for example, if you are going for a landing page you need to look for the inspiration. So if you are going to design for the landing page off some video company, you are going to look for other similar websites. Our websites that are in the media industry that are going to be your inspiration from for your design. So that designs your clients like or the designs you like. As a designer, you're going toe combine doors and put those into a folder called inspiration. This is this'd is, ah, folder, which is included in all my design projects. So when Emery starter designed, I first select three or four inspirations from my collection, and I put them into a folder called Inspirations. Sometimes I asked my client that Richard the websites of each other competitors. So you get the idea what their designs are like. Okay, so this is the first thing. The second thing is I create a mood board which, if you have taken my coursework flow off modern web design, you might see me creating a more bored. So let me show you what is a mood board. Okay, so here you can see the system Mood board from my course work for modern Web design were created. W studio website and you can see here I have some off the clippings from different portions . Like you can see, this is the phone style. I wanted something bold and a very clear and trust able something like that. Then I corporate something like this. This These are the icon styles I wanted Then this is the footer from another website and you can see here are a few more inspiration from different colors. You can see here we have a burden purple and black And then again a blue and this style. So this is called a mood board. So before starting your design, you can create a mood board on the website I used is and I i ce I think nice start com I'm a link it and ah, these are the true tips. Before you start your design, you are going toe Get these two things together. Another great way toe get ideas is to collect and store ideas. So what I do is let me show you my folder so you can see or hear, hear, I have ah whole folder off inspirations Branding character design illustration computer workspaces, creative photography there. Marie Louise just designs, um, food and all those things. Okay, so you can see here We have Islamic telegraphy, three D. So if I open up this image, you can see there are three detractors you can see here. I can get the idea off this brown, brown and blue team, you can see they are very contrasting colors. Also, these blue glowing eyes are looking create on brown. Also, you can see this is very different. This is the feel off. Ah, premium product. White and trays. And this background color looks great so you can pick up ideas from here. Similarly, if you go to my Web design folder, I have different categories blawg, corporate design firms, e commerce, education. And then we have Then I have a folder which is called exceptional designs. You can see or hear. So I have collected all those designs. If I show you so you can see I have collected all the designs which I think are exceptional designs. So I collect things like that. Okay, so I copied watery from this. Like you can see over here. This is totally different team. So I copy some off the images from here and copy to my design folder. Very. Um, I'm going to start the design, for example. Like you can see, this is very minimal and very clean team, so I can get the ideas from here. I have another fuller called idea box. So if I open up this folder, you can see here I have different for different. Ah, um categories like headers. You can see here we have different headers, just a header. Ideas to get some ideas. Then I have some cards you can see. This is how different cars are for different designs. Similarly, you can see this is also a card and similarly, this one. You can see three cards. Information in guards looks great. And then again, I have few content layout options like this. You can see how different layouts have been used. Like you can see we're here overlaying like this on circle inside it and see this one. This is totally different to columns and looks very powerful. Very creative. Um so this one So I have collected all these different ideas. You can see her. I have typography and I love to see different type combinations you can see or hear. These are clippings from my Bahamas, sometimes from Beyonce, sometimes from other websites to conceal here. So I have collected all those different die faces. You can see we're here to live your life, typography, combinations. Here you can see another example. So this is how I try. Toe. You can say a store ideas, so they are going to help you a lot in building your designs. Nobody is born creative. You get ideas from other people's ideas. Don't get ashamed off it. It is how our everyone designs. I hope you have enjoyed this video and how to collect and store ideas and how to get ideas from different ideas. If you have any questions to ask me, let's move on to the next lesson. 10. Work on Details Later On in your Designs: one other great technique which a lot of designers don't know. Mostly beginners, that whenever you are working on your design, you are going toe work on the details or the refinements later on in your design. So if you are starting your design and you are starting to, you know, design the hideout off your website or the A top navigation bar off your mobile app, what you are going to do is you are not going to put the details in there. You are not going to put all the icons, all the colors. You are not going to apply every detail over there. You are not going to pigs. Ill perfect it. You are going to just put your things over there, just create the layout. So whenever you see a painter painting something you might have seen, then when they start their painting, they're just going to get some off the big sports off the colors they're going to use like they put just ah brush and put a big sport off orange color on their cameras or something blue at the top. So you are not going to see what they're going to do. They are just putting the colors over there, but they are not going to work on the details. But when you keep aunts watching them, they are going to work on the details in the end. So in the end they're going to work on the refinements, and it is going toe shape into a great painting. So this is how every artist work whenever someone is sketching a car tones or in Disney or any other company, even the local designers. They first sketch out very rough sketches. Then they tried to refine it. Then they put it in the PC or their Mac are in the illustrator Adobe illustrator, and then then they tried toe refine it. So these are This is the biggest step. This is how you are going to work, work on the details later on, keep them at the end off your design. Okay, Now I have seen and I have done a lot of designs, and I know that most of the time off the designers it is going tobe a vested on refinements . So whenever you start our design, try to focus just on the design and the layout. Don't worry about the colors and all the other stuff. Don't try to refine it until the end of the design. So actually a career design. From my perspective, if I design a landing page, it takes me 3 to 5 days or maybe seven days and, ah, the first rule days. I'm going to just work on the design, The major things, the major content blocks and the next T 25 days are going to be on the refinements what background I can use or what image I can put over here, what the overlay colors are looking like, what color the button should be, what color the primary. But in our call to Action City, Everton should be so. These are the decisions you are going to make at the end of your designed, or try to make them in the start off your design. Otherwise, it is going to waste a lot of time. If you have just started you're designing and you are a big no designer. The first thing you're going to notice is that my designs looks ugly, so this happens with all the designers, even the expert ones. When you are starting your designs before refinement it is going to look ugly because refinement is where you are going to balance it. You're going to put some colors into it. You are going to balance the voyage space or the spacing between your elements in your design. So I try to refine it as much as you can until you achieve its goal or you like that. It is the look and the feel and the content. I'm going for O. R. The user watch and needs and business needs this kind off design. Okay, so this is a single dip I'm going to give you. This is a technique called zoom in zoom out, which I normally use a lot in my designs. So what you are going to do is that you are going to refine on two levels, zoom in level and zoom out level. Both those refinements are different. So let me show you an example. This is a design off a landing page I recently did. This is really a messenger company and you can see or hear. This is the first section second heard 4th 5th and six. So these are totally six sections. One footer, one header, and rest off the other sections. So whenever I am designing, for example, I'm designing in this header section over here. What I'm trying to do is ah, I will try to focus on this element The shadow of the colors, all that stuff. But problem, um started to occur is when I I am too much zoomed in. So right now you can see I am zooming in on this single section. But the design is basically a combination off all these sections together. So what I try to do is this is called zoom in refinements. So I am zoomed in 100% on my design and I'm tryingto, you know, create refinements and different colors tryingto go different shadows on these buttons. So what I try to do is I have normal Zoom in and then I zoom out to see how the sections are working together by the displacing between these two sections like this to top toe is looking create. Is it too much? Is a to less for example, here you can see it looks scored. But if I try to move it too much down and I have I am zoomed in. I'm not going to feel it. So when I zoom out, I'm going to feel that thes sections need spacing or these headings. The expressing are these blocks. They are not aligned with this over here. OK, so these are the mistakes I'm going toe see when I zoom out. So whenever you try toe, align your layout, your design, or align something with different sections and different colors also, you can see if I zoom out. You can see the whole design at one glance. Now I can see that the colors for example, the top and the foot of colors and all these black colors. Are they matching together or not? Are they going well together or north? So these are the things I'm going toe see? Then I zoom out. So this is the technique I normally use the zoom in and zoom out. So define on, zoom in level, then zoom out and see what other spacings is there something looking fishy or something, Looking out off order and fix that. So I hope you have enjoyed these this lesson and zooming in zooming out technique and do the refinements later on and you are going to start your design in a black and white version, So it is also called gray scale. So whenever you start your design, start to start your design, let me show you how it should look like like this. So just a black Burton Grady in background on this is how you are going to show. Ah, start your design and, ah, try toe, get the colors later on. So something like this. Okay, so also one more typists that most off the designers I normally do is I try to wire frame, create a wire frame before starting this design. The vile frame also is going to act as, ah, blueprint off your design that this is the content. These are the things that are going to replaced over here, and it will help you shape your design better. And it will save you a lot of time. So these are the types I want to give you guys. I hope you have enjoyed this lesson. If you have any questions, you can ask me, let's move on to the next lesson. 11. Simpler Vs Complex Designs: Now I have seen a lot of designers making their designs cluttered and complex. No, this is one thing you need to keep in mind. Humans are going to like and they're going toe. Opt for simple things. They do not like complex designs, complex information, which is difficult toe get. If humans are going toe, get difficulty in making sense off your design. They are going to leave it, and they're going to go to another website on their mobile app and anything else. So keep that in mind that simple designs are going to win in the end. So if you can simplify your design by eliminating elements that are not needed or the information that is not needed by the user tried to eliminate it. So some designers they try to work like that, that they removed things and complexity until it cannot be simplified more so this is another rule off product design. Actually, you might have seen that simple designs designed by Data rams, and he waas my inspiration and still is my inspiration. And I really love his product design. Braun be, are you and is the complete he used to design for this is the guy Dieter Rams, and I really love how he has designed on the products you can see or hear on the I bared our iPhone inspirations. IPod inspiration is from his designs. You can see over here 1958 in 2001. So still in 1958 this design really looks simple, elegant and modernistic. So it's still still look very modern, even though it was designed in 19 sixties. And I hope you will get the idea off simplicity in designs you can see or hear. These are this is the radio designed by him. You cannot. You know, you cannot judge that this has been designed, like 40 50 years ago. The still looks like Apple product to me anyhow, So this is the reason I opt for simple things and simple designs because they're going to want a win, and they're going to live for many, many years now. Why do I always love simple designs? Because they are more memorable. So if you are designing an air by corn or logo or any website, try Toby Jews as less noise or as less clutter you can use. So try to see the logo off apple Microsoft. They're very simple shapes, very simple and clean. They're not like 100 different circles and tangled together or something like that. They are basic ships and ah, very simple ships. Also, if you look at that website off Dropbox, it is very simple design. Let me show you an example. Loafer. Simple design. You can see this is the design I did for a mobile app that is smart so far up. And what you can see over here is just lines two colors which is prominent color This one green Sorry, this blue. And this is yellowish orange color. So in the whole design, you can see just these two girls are dominant. They have been used other than brown. And if you graze and there's nothing much in this design, a few lines, few circles and that is all you can see, this is the start first screen. And it is very simple. So simple designs. They are going to look elegant. They are going toe look easy to operate. And this is human psychology you need to implement in your designs. Let me show you one more design. Okay, so this is a design from Peter Dondo on You can See over here. This is also very simple. Just a few blocks, blues and a little bit of creates. And that is all in this design. So there are on this. There is not so much in this design you can see over here. It is very, very simple. So straightforward. Few things, a few prominent areas, few colors and that is it. So I think if you are designing something, you might look for simplicity and try to opt for dead and users are going toe. Love that. So that is all for this lesson. If you have any problems or any suggestions, you can always message mean you can always ask me in the questions. Let's move on to the next lesson. 12. Thanks For Getting Better At Design End: thanks a lot for taking this getting better at design class, and I hope you have learned something new. Now is the time you can write some review about my class or some commence post comments about this class. If you have any suggestions or any questions, you can always ask me. One thing you need to keep in mind is that this class has two more parts which are coming nest next. So don't forget to follow me on skin share so you can get objects off the upcoming my upcoming classes. Eso From this this forward on you're going to get two classes about visual design elements off visual design, and one is, I think, the principles off design. So they are the next two steps in. You can say visual design or this city is getting better and design. So stay tuned and see you soon. In the next class
