It is changing the way consumers consume services, changing the ways organization developed and run application and completely reshaping all business models in multiple industry. It is providing a growing amount off opportunities for small and big businesses to expand into new markets, innovate more quickly and create new value application in data all sitting somewhere in the cloud, managed and operated by someone else. And end users are basically using cloud based services from any location would white. This revolution must be supported by people like you and me that can understand the underlying technology, the best option in the market, the business value and evaluate the opportunities and also the wrist. Cloud computing is touching almost any corner in our life. It is transforming the ICTY world, and the impact wave is going in spreading around anyone in the high tech industry. My name is Don and we are planning to start our journey. A new technologies like a cloud computing always an interesting subject, and that's great. But I always like to understand things a little bit more deeply and still see the big picture before running into more details. We should always try to connect between a problem or a challenge. And the relevant solution. A cloud computing imaged is a solution to solve specific problems. So the first step in our journey is a little bit about his story, where and why Everything started a without we like now. And well, we probably going to be in the near future. The whole IittIe market is transforming and changing shape based on small evolution steps into a completely new creature. And this is the cloud revolution. 3. Traditional IT - Plan, Buy and Operate the Data Center: a long time ago. Okay, Maybe not so long time ago. I'm talking about few years looking back on the I D market. A diet infrastructure in most organization was completely owned and managed by each organization. It was usually on premises. I t deployment in one, maybe two data centers were almost all application. When demands are changing, the organization must invest in hardware, software, ongoing upgrades, maintenance, support, customization and, of course, manpower. Now, something very useful we need to define and use as early as possible is the concept off application workload. Any software application that is running and performing a specific walk consume resource is like a processing CPU memory and network bend with etcetera. We told kind of interesting features, but by themself, del, quite simple piece of technologies. Now because they are connected to the internet in use all kind of cloud-based services to get an analyze data. They'll becoming very powerful devices. And the power is keep going is the clouds in the background are becoming larger in smarter. Now, this new power is actually divided between us, the consumer, with what we can achieve today, we'd product that caused below $200. And on the other side, the power is of course being used by those companies as they can utilize a monetize the data that we keep generate. Now going, amount of companies in the business world and the stand, the power is actually shifting to the consumers as they are expecting more value for less money, better services, better communication options, and so on. And of course, all kinds of technologies are becoming more useful when a specific business would like to better understand the market, what customers are looking for, what is their experience, and so on. It is clear that because more and more actions are being done online using websites or any end device connected to the internet like we saw just in the previous slide. Many things can be monitored, measured, analyzed, and then be translated into some useful data when we said something online or upload something to the internet. This information is dynamically analyzed and then sold somehow to other companies that can make money from this data. This is the digital age. Will data is becoming at the center of many business models. Okay, think about an online supermarket site. We have thousands of people that are searching and selecting product using the side. It will be extremely useful to understand right now in real time that the growing amount of people or users are searching a specific product over, let's say the last five hours. Based on this information, the supermarket can decide maybe to order more units of this product, or maybe shared this information with the supplier, or maybe create some discounted deal. And we will be able to find countless small examples on how this data can be monetized in be used to make more money. The digital business model is basically more and more data-centric. Everything is around data. How can we collect, store, and analyze this data for making smart business decision? Companies are looking for ways to put data at the central of the businesses. Otherwise, there will be out of business. This is the digital transformation that many organizations are trying to achieve. And the demand for technologies helping to move in that direction is keep growing. How to monetize data, be more flexible, provide better service, invents new digital business models. Be more connected with customers and better collaborate with partners. Now, if I will summarize the main needed characteristics of the digital basis, it will be the faster the company can get new ideas to the market using innovation, the better the company can collect, analyze, and predict data almost in real time and make decision on top of that. And lasting the quicker the company can adapt the services and the product based on customers feedback. But the private data center that we discussed so far in traditional id is not designed to support such growing and keep changing business domains that are based on ongoing innovation. But the reality is that not all organizations are in position to use sophisticated technologies. Not everyone. I'll Google, Facebook or Amazon. Most business organization can't enjoy those new technologies for many reasons. And it makes sense that some level of abstraction layer is needed for helping more and more organization and companies to take advantage of such technologies. And now we're getting to the main value proposition of cloud computing. Providing an obstruction layer to super-complicated technology's being used in the cloud. And providing new types of services that are needed for companies to take advantage and help them while going into the digital transformation. Now let's speak about cloud computing. 6. The Birth of Hyper-scale Public Data Centers: the first company that understood the business opportunity off cloud computing as an infrastructure solution. This new club computing wave fall kind off reasons. Some of them are saying it's not safe, it's not secured. It will be more costly. It went services then by them, as they used to do for so many years, and they don't want to lose control or that application off bait on And, of course, other reasons. Now, after a few years, either giants like Google, Microsoft, Oracle and many others companies understood that the market is shifting in that direction. And it will be smart to join in. Think about a company like Google that was already operating. Hyper scale data centers worldwide fall kind off Web services like will search, of course. And YouTube's it there. I mean, Google are led doing that for many years, okay and quite well, and it makes sense that it will use the same infrastructure as a new business line and become a club provider for organization Now. Today, after more than a decade, a Amazon is still the biggest player in the market, and I don't think it would be changed a lot in the coming years because off the early starting point. But other competitors are closing the gaps quite fast, at least from the technology technology part and some of them ability offering almost similar product and services. And each one of them is taking a little bit different direction, trying to be a trying to differentiate their offer in the market. 7. A Catalyst for Innovation: first forward toe. This time almost.
