About This Class

Getting a job can be really tough and sometimes seem like a daunting task. This class is here to help you stack the odds in your favour. It's filled with a bunch of tips, tricks and simple exercises to give you the best possible chance of landing that dream job. The class will cover things like targeting the right person with your application, standing out from the competition and even how to hire a detective to do some sleuth work for you!

I’m Ryan McLeod and I run a design studio called Slurpp. Over the years I’ve helped a whole range of people create amazing job applications. So whether you're a student looking for your first big break or looking to get that next step up the ladder there's something here for everyone. While helping people with applications I started to realise there’s a lot of really simple things you can do to improve your chances of success. So that’s why I've put them all together and I’m here creating a series of Skillshare classes for you.

What this class will cover:

  • Defining your criteria for the right job
  • Target your application
  • Making your application personal
  • Hiring a detective to dig some dirt
  • Managing your social media & online presence
  • Keeping it simple

What this class won’t cover:

Job applications are complicated things so I can’t cover every detail in a single class. That’s why I’m breaking things up into manageable chunks. This class won’t cover any aspects of the styling or layout of the actual CV/resume/application. It’s more about laying a foundation to start from. Then we can get into the nitty gritty of crafting those documents.
