About This Class

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) was passed in 2016 by the European Union and went into affect in May 2018. It affects everyone who lives in the EU and any company that does business in the EU or has consumers in the EU, which in 2018 is nearly everyone.

Even if you don't live in Europe, or if your company isn't based in Europe, this is a good chance these rules will still apply to you, or have an affect on the tools you use every day.

In this 10 minute course I give you a quick run down of what the GDPR is and how it may affect business and individuals, specifically the digital marketing and advertising ecosystem and their data providers. There is so much more that can be explained and if you work in the space there may be certain things you want to explore further.

But for those of you looking for a quick explanation of a complicated new policy, look no further!

Course Topics:

  • Five key takeaways from the GDPR
  • Examples of how publishers need to change how they collect data
  • Punishment for not adhering to near rules
  • How this affects Digital Marketing & Advertising companies
