Illustrating foods is one of the most sought out topics in watercolor.

This class is everything you need to get started with food illustrations and painting your heart (stomach) out! We will go through the basic principles of light and shadow, then progress towards how light and shadow are to be portrayed in food and drinks which would make the illustrations look real and yummy. 

There are two class exercises where we will learn to paint glasses, drinks, and food (a cupcake and cake slice) from real view and then progress to the 4 class projects where we will learn to paint from images.

1. Welcome to the Class: did you always want to paint Ford illustrations on din know where and how to start with? Don't worry, I have got you covered. Illustrating foods is one of the most or all topics for painting dear the vast variety available. Do you love seeing those foot illustrations and wanted to try them for yourself, then this classes for you. Hello, everyone. I am ghetto. I am an artist on illustrator based Out of the United Kingdom. I'm originally from India, and I have loved on being painting ever since I can remember, you can find my world of art in Instagram as colorful mistake. Ford Illustration is one of my most favorite subject to paint with watercolors. Who doesn't love eating right after I finish afford illustration. I stared it so much that I feel hungry and gray for whatever I have pain did. We will learn through each lesson of this glass. How to get started with food illustrations. Don't worry if you don't have any prior knowledge off watercolors and illustrations. If you follow through my step by step lessons, it will be easier for you to learn every aspect off painting a food illustration. We will begin the class by learning the principles off light and shadow and how light is seen on board drinks and food, after which we will progress to sketching different types of glasses from real. We will also cover sketching foot from really on every tiny detail that you need to take care off while doing food illustrations. After that, we will move on to painting each of the drinks and the food followed by the class projects . The four class projects will teach you how to paint food illustrations from different pictures. There are two pictures each for a drink and food, including this class. Don't be very seeing the length of this class. This class is perfectly structured such that you can stop after each lesson and come back to it later on. Each of the four class projects are runoff lessons, and you can come back and try painting them any time you want. So are you excited, guys? So what are we waiting for? Let's go into the next lessons off this glass 2. Art Supplies: let me now tell you all the art supplies that you wouldn't for this class. It is absolutely fine if you don't have the exact art supplies here. This class is unlike all of the classes because you can use whatever being on paper that's you do the most today for this class, I will be using a bite. That idea of papers do demonstrate different techniques on for the class projects. I will be using these Archie's 300 Years of gold first paper in both these two different sizes. One is 15 matter descended meters and the other is a square 20 by 20 centimetre sheet. It is 100% cotton and hands. It is ideal for watercolor techniques, but when it comes to food illustration on the effects that I particularly want to achieve, I prefer sketchbooks with a bit of less texture and less GS and wait. The main reason for the fact is that for food illustration, we don't have to use multiple washes on dust. There is no fear that the people will buckle, so I usually prefer sketchbooks from Hannah Lee or artist in this class for the class projects. I will be using this Art is a square sketchbook. It is a cool pressed paper. 230 ageism or 100 rental lb. Weight on it is ideal for watercolor and mixed media techniques, so you can see how it is perfect for watercolor techniques and for illustrations. Next A's Water Philippines. I will be using different pains here, or we'll just to show you that we can use any brand with suits. Us. So in this box are my middle omission to switch came in this packaging. Next watercolor brushes. I really use my three main Russia's, which I use all the time. It is these three brushes from sagebrush Limited. It is the size 12 size eight and size four from the civil liberties. But if we're outside traveling or out in a cafe or restaurant, where do you do illustrate foot? Then we can use a traveling brush like this. This is the travel brush. Prado's set from Escada on it comes in. This little case on brush is this Middleton like this on you can open it up to reveal the brush hairs. This way, the heads of the brush T is protected and secure, so you can see I've got a bigger size. This is a size stool. A size six on this one is a science 10. So the zealotry brushes that game. In this set, Georgia has off water, one for taking fresh paint and the other for washing off your brushes. After a while, one off the jobs. Real turn. Mahdi, you can see here, which is why we use two jars so that one will have clear water for mixing new pains. Otherwise, we will be mixing this muddy water. Mattachine. So just imagine trying to pick up a lie to shake, such as a yellow with your brush on dipping it into this water the violet color and imagine how Mahdi your paint is going to be. But since it is very less water that we're going to use for these type of paintings, we can also get away without using it. For painting outside in a cafe or restaurant, we can use a small, easy to carry leak proof container to carry the water Onda. Obviously we have to use one that it's plastic because we don't want to have the risk off the glass falling off the table and drinking. I used a small border, which I caught from somewhere. I don't remember now, but the amount of water that this plastic and Gary has always been sufficient for me while traveling outside, and you can see that it is leak proof to depict the effect of flight on to show the white areas. In my illustration, I used these white Accolate Mark opens from Bosco. It's got appointed death and works on more surfaces because it is actually, but you can use by Julia opens as well. For the highlights, such as this one from Uni ball pencil on it is hard to make that off Sketches some tissues to wipe off extra water from both your brushes on dawn. The paper that you use on lastly, maybe a paper clip. If you want to clip the paper family onto the sketchbook so that it does not turn the pages , that is all about the art supplies. Let us move all to the next lesson 3. Principles of Light and Shadow: Then light falls on an object from one direction. Most off the shadow will be towards the other direction. So I will show you with a sphere. She was just a spherical surface. So let us say the light is falling on this fear from this direction. Then the shadow off it would be in the exact opposite action that is here. This is where the shadow would be on the darker parts off. This we're here because there is nearly no light on Dhere would be lighter, so and as you reached the bottom, it would be DACA on. Also, the shadow would be the darkest here on day as it cause outwards gets lighter. There are a lot of factors here. Like the angle of the light, the intensity of the light Exeter. But we can just get an idea off how we want to draw that on the people and just show it. I will show you when we are painting the shadows. Before we start painting, we have to decide where the light is coming from. So in the gates of glass, let's say there's a class. The light can four from different directions. It can be from the top from the side, four at angle, so it's the light source can be in way. We have to consider the light source because that would be where are white spots quickly. So if the light is from the top, let's see. Actually, that's so let's say we have a class. If the light is from the top, then the top part is going to be white and it's gonna be darker towards the bottom. And let's say even the light isse from the site from this side, then this side is going to be darker. And if it's from this side, this side is going to be darker. So that's why we have to consider rely toasts from even though our light is from here because it's a glass, you might have white spaces here, and it's just this is just marking where the dark side is going to be. So that's why deciding on where the light is coming from is very important. When we're doing a painting 4. Light and Shadow in Drinks: Before we start painting or sketching, we have to observe and understand how light affects the object or the subject that we're going to paint. I'm going to show you some real life examples on how we can bring in the light and shadow effect into our paintings. When report re light and shadow in our paintings, it gives the painting or the illustration a depth on makes it look really firstly, let us observe these glasses. These are some of the different types of classes that I have in my whole. If I take the wine glass on, place it right here on my light source. The window is here and you can observe closely and see how the glass looks like when light is falling on it. See these white spots all the reflective surface. When the light rays hit the surface off a glass material some off the light will be reflected by the class on the restaurant passed through it as glass is transparent. The reflected part is where the light rays of maximum and it is the sparkling white area that we see here. But they will be multiple, laters, like this on the class where the light is being reflected. When the glass reflex light it makes it look like as if the glasses sparkling at that point or the sport, I'm going to shift the camera to a different angle. No, so that you can see how the sparkling white spots changes as I move the direction where the light source is coming from. Observe how this light is moving. Actually, that is not the light that is moving. We have just changed a viewing angle off our subject and thus see the sparkling point at different places. You can see that the white sparkling sport is now in the center on. We have additional lines. Onda, also this sport here is now on the left side on. We have multiple spots here. Another difficulty involved with illustrating drinks is that the class surfaces thickness on because of its transparency. It is difficult to illustrate and draw the strictness on the paper. Now let's look at the different glass. This class has a different unique shape on dust. There are more places for the light to reflect and sparkle. You can see how these scarves and designs can be quite tricky. Onda hard to make it visible on the paper. I also want to focus your attention to something that is behind the class, such as thes leaves over here. Observe, have you see them through the glass? And then the next thing we need to focus on is the shadows on. We have to remember the basic theory or flight and shadows. I have idea the united conditions right now without any direct sunlight on my workspace. So if we look at these glasses, we won't be able to see much of a shadow here because the light is being dispersed. So then how do we make the shadows on the paper? Don't worry about that, because in the next lessons, I assure you exactly how it can be done. Obviously, we don't want to paint empty glasses, right? So let's observe the glasses with something in it. I have brought some vine into this wind loss on Let's see how the light appears on it. So CDs white line here, the white spots on the stem on the foot off the glass and also along the line of the wine on the inner side. On Finally, these lines on the top pole part off the glass. Now let us have a quick recap When painted glasses on drinks alive, fix your viewing angle of the subject. Find out where the light source is coming from. Observe how the light is reflected on the glass surface, observed the lightest areas or the white spots. If it is a transparent glass, observe how objects behind the glass is seen through it 5. Viewing Angle in Drinks: when br sketching glasses the top view off the glass would be a symbol circle because you're looking at it from exactly the top like here. So if you look from exactly the top, all you see is a circle. So for glasses, the best way would be to droit at an anger. I've been sure you'll. So this is from exactly the top. Let's say we try it, it mango. So as you change the angle, this circular face that is the circular mouth off the glass would change into one ellipse. Just doing it up sketch for no. We're changing to an Ellipse Onda. We would see some part off the leg, but it would be shorter because we're not seeing it in for length. And again, if we move from the angle toe a bit more downwards, we'll start seeing more off the leg so this would turn into a more longer ellipse, and we will see the longer shape off the glass in for so you can see we see it more longer when we're looking at it from the set. But imagine we were looking at it from exactly the 90 degree angle side that would be more off flat at the top won't be able to see any of the motor area. So it would be like this. But it is more beautiful with the sketch on the painting. If we can see a bit off the multi area, which is why this is the best angle when you're painting glasses. Now, the next thing we're going to be learning, it's glasses with hundreds. So if the classes had handles, it could be just stretching the rough one here. So it has a handle. But you see, when you put the handle on the side there, it looks as if it's like really flat and doesn't have the three d effect. So, you know, to bringing the three D effect. What we can do is we have the handle at somewhere inside, so please see, we have the handle there and we market last, and that would give it a three D effect and make the glass you created. So let us do that. Now I'll show you using this live example how we can sketch this class, which has got a handle. I painted this class and main years ago. Please ignore it So let us observe this glass first. We have a handle here on the right side, so I'm going to quickly do a rough sketch of the glass with the handle on the right side. As I said earlier, you can see that this sketch looks a bit flat on to die Minster because I'm doing the handle on the right side and it kind of looks flat on the paper. So let's make the sketch more exciting. You could give this class a three dimensional cheap, just like I showed you before. If you were to turn this a little on, this handle is at an angle towards the top, somewhat like this, where you can see a bit of the glass offense through the inside. So I'm going to roughly sketch that right now. See how I've put this handle a bit inside rather than the further right on through the inside part of the handle. The right surface of the glass can be seen. See, that's it. But you can see how the sketch has a three dimensional look, whereas the top sketch looks a bit flat where we have made the handle on the side 6. Sketching Glasses/Drinks: way. Now we will see how we can sketch these different types of glasses. We even start with a buying glass. So I will show you how we can sketch a fine glass. If we look closely at the shape off the rain glass, we can see that it is symmetrical about a center line. Andi, no matter how you hold it, it will be symmetrical. On both sides of this imaginary line for the rim. Off the glass I'm going to draw are straight symmetry line. Let us use a ruler for the vertical symmetry line. We will first draw the removed the glass about this horizontal symmetrical line. As I have explained, the room will look like an ellipse from the insight on Gus, let's make an ellipse for the poll part. If you observe the shape off the wine glass, you can see that it comes down like this and get slightly bigger at the bottom. So let us get that part now we will mark the length we need for the bull and then around the symmetry line, we will draw the shape equal on both sides slightly larger at the bottom and then the stem doesn't start straight, but the bull part kind of continues to form the stem. If you make the stem part symmetrical about the vertical line on DWright, curved and then straight like this, observe the base. Andi. You'll see that it's not flat, but rather the stem continues and curves to form the foot on. Also, the food hasn't thickness, so we will drive continuously from the stem on. Make the curved space like this on, but also add some thickness to it. So now we have sketched our first wine glass. Next, we will try to sketch this champagne flute for that. Let us observe how the shape off the champagne feud ISS it's got the circular room at the top on the body is again symmetrical in any direction. So the system to be exactly the same as we did with the wine glass let us mark the center line, so off symmetry. Then people draw the elliptical rim first on, then mark the length off the bull on draw the bowl, symmetrical on both sides using the curved, continuous line. Draw the stem on, then the foot in the exact same way that we did with the wine glass, and then we will add some thickness to the foot. Now we will do a basic typical glass going to keep it here as the shape is again symmetrical. We will draw a horizontal Andi vertical line for the access on, then draw the rim off the glass. We can see that the edges are straight or parallel, so I'm marking the length off the glass and then to draw the adjusted. We see. I'm using my ruler to make straight lines. We can see the thick base here, so I will add this at the bottom. Now for this class weaken, Look closely and see that the end of all of the glass curves towards the bottom on does not a straight bend. So I will add that now we will draw another line inside for the interval or the thickness off the glass and make it curved. Words the bottom on. That's it. Next we will try to make this small juice glass. You can see that this class has got a bulge towards the outside in the center, on the interval, curves and forms the base. Most of the glasses asked a magical hence swim start with the lines of symmetry on the elliptical rim. Now we will try to make this class. It's called a rocks glass. It's got quite a different shape from the ones we did, because you can see that it's got these edges on shapes at the bottom, making it quite unique on the top. It has a circular dream on the glasses, again symmetrical about the center line. After drawing the symmetry lines, I will draw the elliptical rim for the class, then mark the length on dstets art from the top, and you can see that as it reaches here. From the top, the glass slightly bends inwards. So there is this inwards bend here, so I'm making it garb inwards to get the shade right. And now for the shapes on the glass. In order to do that, make an ark and then draw a vertical line. Repeat this to get the shapes, but remember that it has to be symmetrical onboard the sites of the vertical line. Now, lastly, we will try to make this square glass. It will be really easy to make this as a square glass because it will be symmetrical onboard the sites. But this view will make it really flat on the paper. But imagine if I were to slightly done the glass. You can see that we get a different sheep on. The sketch will look three dimensional on the paper. I'm going to hold the glass like this. Act an angle for our sketch. I have already made the symmetrical line for the removed a glass. We will draw our diamond shape for the square room as seen with this viewing angle off the glass. See that none of my corners have sharp edges because it is a glass on Gove's at each corner , then draw a straight line for the edge on both sides. Andi joined them together, using a curved line like this on for the corner that we see here. Add the extra thickness, then add discover in the interval, double each of the lines for depicting the thickness off the glass on That's it, and from the sketch, you can see how we made it look three dimensional on attractive. Whereas if we sketch it like this, it would have bean flat. This is why deciding and fixing the viewing angle is important before sketching. 7. Exercise 1 - Painting drinks - Part I: we've been first. Spain's This wind last from riel, So inside around mid we we will mark the line off the wine in the glass and then first we will let the area where the wine inside the glass is, and then take any dark being sheet and added to the vet area. But also remembering to leave white space is randomly here. I'm leaving the white spaces on the left side. Mostly. Then we will add darker shades to give the darker contrast. I'm using a mix off indigo on black to create a dark gray color, and I will apply to the left side, at and along the borders, on some towards the bottom. There is no specific rule for the darker areas, but we give it a talker contrast so that we feel it has some kind off depth in it. Then we will take some finish in dread and add towards the left side to give more red color to the wine observed that I have left some white spaces on the top, a DEA, and then we cannot more great towards the bottom for the contrast. Then, using the same grade, we will draw the stem on the base. We will add highlights to one side and make the other side a bit darker. So let's have the right side a bit darker. Observe how I'm making these trade lines for the base. Andi, I have made the right side darker than the left side on then, for the base makes more lines on diva Dockery area towards the right side. These are the areas that were talking to give the glass some contrast and have a visual effect on the paper. The stock a radius obviously, due to the fact that there is some kind of surface that this one losses sitting home. So imagine if it were to sit on some dark surface. Then we would see the stocker side or darker color through the wine glass, which is what fair painting keep adding more contrast on Dockery areas to the already painted areas because they might become lighter after the right, so add more darker contrast once we add highlights to our paintings. Along with the highlights, these darker areas, we look more interesting on make our wind last look real. Then we will paint along the borders off the glass and add more darker effects. Do the top. The's darker lines are again because, off some kind off surface behind the glass through which we're seeing the darker surface, we could leave it white. But we pain the darker color so that it looks more exciting. So we'll add more darker spots on the top areas to give it a good effect. Even though we're painting the wine glass from real, that's what exactly be the steps. If we're painting from memory, as in, we would be giving these random, darker contrast areas of Dr spots here and there on also adding the highlights which we will do later on. So observe how I've added darker spots onto my paper on the wine glass. For the lighter areas, I will be using a white actress marker. This oneness from Posca are you can use this white gentlemen from Uni Ball or Sakura. Alternatively, you can use white water color or gosh pain for this if you do not have any actually quite marker. So this is the point where we add the white lines that we see when looking at the glass under a source off light. All those white reflecting surfaces that I showed you on the glass are the highlights, so add them that is, specific white spots here and there. As you observe and you're looking at the glass and real, remember that we should not over work on these highlights. Just add as many reflecting surfaces as you see on the glass. Or, as you may seem appropriate if you're painting from memory now for the champagne feud at the line off the champagne, and then after reading the area where the champagne ISS add yellow onto it, leaving sufficient white spaces in between. Then we will add a darker shade of he alone. Such a sperm in yellow, dark for the darker contrast or recon, use Indian gold or yellow ocher for this, even though the champagne is only Sina's yell over the naked eye. Giving darker contrast will make the painting have depth. So we will add a bit off brown or burnt sienna and also an even darker shade of brown, such a sepia or van dyke, a brown to some areas off the champagne so you can use different shades of brown on. Give it a darker contrast on top off the yellow so that we have the doctor radius that I was talking about. Then, using the grain mix, make the borders just like we did for the wine glass. We will start adding darker spots on DSM, darker lines onto the champagne flute so you can use any type of grave for this Andi lighter tone or a darker tone. This would be depending upon your choice on where you think your wine glass or your champagne flute is. I have mixed indigo on black to get the kind of great that I want, but I think you can also use Payne's gray for this for the champagne flute. This time we will add the darker going trust to the left side on the bees to depict the light source falling on the glass from the right side. There is for the wine glass. I had made the darker sports on the right side because I was assuming the light source to be coming from the left side. But as you can see here, there are darker sports are on the left side, which means, by imagination the light source is from the right side. We have to remember that all These are just assumptions that we make. But we always have to choose a side for the darker shadows, so keep on adding darker lines on darker spots for the areas that you need to give Dr Khan trust on. Then finally, people add divide reflection areas, all the highlights with the white marker. Andi. I will also add a few dots here and there began. Champagne is basically sparking wine, So in order to show those bubbles are sparkles in the vine, I'm adding those dots and that's it. 8. Exercise 1 - Painting drinks - Part II: now let us to water a glass for this class. I will not add any drink inside, but rather we will try to paint it as a days which means that we will have more pain scree on the painting, so taking pains grave even start to add a random shapes onto the glass. These will be the doctor contrast areas. As you can see, I'm taking a very lighter tone off pain scree and adding onto my glass on trying to spread it out. Wait water. So, using my brush after applying the paint, I tried to spread it out by taking water on my brush. Then we even start toe paint more and more and are details onto the glass. Be very careful. Then we are sketching along the line off the glass. First use are lighter tone off Payne's gray. For this, I wanted to show how it would be if there is no drinks in the glass. So which is why we are doing this empty glass right now. Then we will start to add more darker contrast areas, so this time we will use a very darker tone off pains claim and start applying onto the glass. There is no specific rule as to how we should apply these darker contrast. 80 years. If you have a glass with you, keep it in front of you and observe. There are the lightest areas. Andi. Where are the darkest areas? So these are just totally random. Andi, make the shapes wherever you warned them to be. But remember that you have to choose a direction for your strokes. Mostly, it should be in the downward direction because the light is reflected that just lines straight lines from the top to the bottom, which is why my strokes are in the vertical direction. So use that direction for your strokes. Keep adding more and more great to your glass. Use any kind of great that you have. It doesn't have to be pain straight itself once this is done now, even worn to the highlights. So I'm taking my acrylic fight market again on adding few lines as you can see in the vertical direction. This is directly for my observation off the glass, wherever white spots I'm seeing or the reflection areas. Observe the glass carefully, and you can also see these white spots and just add them wherever you feel. It is right to now. We will move on to the fourth class on for this. I'm going to be showing it in a different way. That is, I'm not going to use pain scree for the glass, but rather I am going to use the same color off the juice inside the glass. So I'm going to add a bit off orange juice inside this glass. Which is why I'm first painting with ah, very lighter shade off orange, after which I will give the darkest colors for the contrast. So you can see that I have not left any white spaces in this juice but rather have painted the whole thing. Andi. Then I'm adding the doctor contrast areas for that I have used a darker shade of orange on , then using a darker shade of brown. So if you blended together, you can see that my left side is a bit darker than the right side. So I am assuming that my light is coming from the right side onto the glass. I am showing you this in a different way because I wanted to show you all the different techniques or methods that we can paint glasses so it doesn't all have to be the same. You can use different techniques. You can totally award the gray just like I'm using with this class. So for the borders of this class, I'm going to be using orange. That is the same shade that I have used for the Jews. Then on to the bass part off the glass. I'm going to add a bit off orange again. This actually represents the Jews reflected on the base. You can actually see this if you take a glass on, put it on a weizman surface on, observe it from the side. You will see that at the bottom part, that is, the base party will be able to see some color off the Jews or whatever is there in your glass being reflected onto the base? As I have explained before, the whole point off showing depth Andi realism in your paintings is when you bring contrast with light and shadow. So I'd like to colors on darker colors to give the lighter and darker contrast. And now, for the fifth class, as you can see, it is a bit tricky, so I'm going forward again with the grain method, we will first pain to the rim off the glass. Then I'm going to use Indian gold for the Jews are beer inside the glass. So, as you can see because of the shape of the glass, this is going to be quite tricky. So the top part, we will paint with Indian gold on, Then, leaving that design shape, we will apply the color again. So leave a slight gap for where you can see the design so that it stays white. As you can see, I'm repeating the process because it is basically the same on the right Tyler spell. But then the whole of the glass is not reflected the same way, which is by on the right side. I'm painting the whole off it and not leaving any white space. Now we have finished with the first layer, but obviously no, we have to give the darker shades. You might have understood already that the right side is going to be the darker shade area because I did not leave any highlight there. But then we have to add highlights right next to the areas where it is right so that the white highlight area is clearly visible, which is why I have added highlights onto the left side as well. Use a darker brown shade for the doctor. Contrast. Tedious because the first layer that we applied is Indian gold on the darker shade. Corresponding to that would be a darker shade of brown for this beacon news, either burned number or even a lighter tone of sepia or van dyke a brown for this. After that, add the Paynes grey for the reflected on the doctor contrast. Eight years of the glass the Indian gold and the brown were actually representing the beer inside the glass. Once you have done that, you can use a darker shade of thrown like sepia or the Nike brown toe. Add the ice cubes onto it, but add darker areas to the ice cube, just like 1/2 done on the left side. Even then, pained along the lines on, Then start giving shape to the ice cubes so the ice cubes will be clearly visible through the glass that is through the inside the glass of We have to give it a bit of darker shade so that it stands out by now. Eggs To add the highlights. Use your bite watercolors or white wash, or even the actual egg white marker that I'm using here. For that add lines on. Do you see that call? Other bit is facing us. That would be reflecting most of the light, so we need to show lines off there and also some parts of the Ice Cube. And that's how we paint drinks 9. Painting Shadows in Glasses: The next thing is about how to pay in the shadows. So for that I'm just going to use a random color here, which is violet. The main technique or method that I used to paint shadows is that I apply the brush stroke on the paper and then I use a mortar to spread it out that is on the area or the outside edge off my stroke. I apply water so that my paint would flow down and spread on bus. It would not have a darker edge. And then I apply a bit more off the paint on the top part, so it would just keep spreading down towards the bottom. This is the main method that I used to be in my shadows. So I will show you to you again. Just apply the stroke on the paper. Any kind of stroke. I'm just showing you randomly here. Then take the water on DSA. Spread it out at the bottom part so you can see that the pain spread into the area where I applied the water. Then taking more pain, apply it onto the top part so that it just spreads down. I just showed you a random shape right now, but now I'll show you how the shadow would be for our sphere. So let me just draw a sphere on. Then what I would do is I would spread out the bottom part so that my pain would spread on . It would feel as if there is some kind of shadow towards the bottom on, because the bottom part needs to be darker, which is where the shadow part will be darker. I apply more paint and spread it out. Now let us pay in the shadows for our painting off the glasses on the drinks so all of the's glasses will have shadows, but I'll show some off them. So I'm going to use my thighs aids in the black velvet brush Onda. Although the color off the shadow is going to be a different one, it should be Ideally, pains create the color that we used for the doctor. Go on trust, but I'm going to the show it with Violet here. Making the shadow with a different color also makes it more attractive. So first I applied the violet pained at the bottom, forming an arc at the bottom off the base off the glass, then using the water. I just spread it out so you can see have spread it out on bond. As you can see here, I've spread it out using water because I do not want my shadows to have any dark. And just which is why I have spread it outfit water so that the pain would not form any dockage is then towards the base. I'm obviously adding more color so that its darkest there. So this is the method that I mostly used for bending shadows for this class. I'm going to assume that my light source is on the right side, So then the shadow would be on the left side at an angle. I'm going to use Payne's gray for the shadow off this glass on. I'm going to be painting it towards the left side because, as I said, assuming the light source is coming from the world's the top right side. So add the pained on the glass at an angle towards the left and then using water, spread the pain out so that it does not form any hard edges, then add more pain towards the bottom. So this is just simple as it is, and this is how I paint the shadows for all my glasses. And lastly, I will show you one more glass. That is this wine glass on. I'm going to assume that my light source is going to be from the top. That is exactly from the top of the class, which would mean that we will only see a few parts off the shadows right underneath the base so you can see here. I'm gonna use a green color for the shadows just to give it a bit more visual effects on right under the base, it would be darker. And as I apply the pain, I spread it out so that it does not form any dark edges. This is how easy it is to pay in the shadows for any types of classes by looking at where the light source is coming from. 10. Light and Shadow in Food: when we were painting drinks because of the reflection properties of the glass, we could easily see where the white spots, but with regards to when you're doing put instructions that you cannot see where the white spaces are or where the light being reflected by most. But if we observe closely by looking at the shape of the object, we can see where the light is too bright on by. The shadows are also because I have kept a food on a plate. You can see the shadows here. Additionally, there's also the shadow off the plate onto my surface here, just like with the kings of the drinks, as you change the direction off the source of the light. The direction of the shadows would also change. So first the shadows where on the left side. But as we change the viewing angle, the shadow is now on the right side. The most important barters observed the subject closely and demined the highlights on the darkest areas. Now let us have a quick recap When painting foot live, fix your viewing angle off the subject. Find out where the light source is coming from. Viewing Angle in Food: just like with the glasses for the plates and bowls. When you look from the top all disease a circle. This is how the sketch off the plate would be when you look at it from an angle or the site . Andi for the bull. As your eye level moves towards the side, you will start seeing the bottom part of the bull. Andi as your viewing anger cause more towards the site, even start to see the Ellipse get longer on, we'll see the bottom part of the plate. And for the bull, you'll see less mouth area on more off the body of the bull. With regards to food illustration, we have to decide what is the view that we want to paint. This would be decided based on what is inside the plate or the bull. I'm going to add a cake slice on this view off the plate. This would be the best viewing angle to depict the cake on a plate rather than the top few , because If you were looking at the cake from the top, all you would see is a triangle on the plate, which is the top surface of the cake slice. Hence, this would be the best angle. Next, let's say there's something in the bull. Let's add a few ice cream scoops in the bull on because it's protruding outside of the bull . This would be the best view. But if you were to paint something that is like a sauce or gravy inside the bull, then showing more off the top off the ball would be better, because then you would be able to see the gravy are the source inside the bull, and hence this would be the better angle. Thus, depending on what kind of food is inside the plate or the bull, we have to decide the viewing angle because the viewing angle is what makes our sketch interesting to see on make it look real 12. Sketching Food from Real: let us see how we can sketch the food from real. This is the viewing angle. I'm going to be looking out for sketching this cupcake on marshmallow chocolate cake slice , which has kept on this late. You can see the shadow off the plate on the side, on the shadow of thes desserts on the plate on the right side. As you can see, the elliptical plate, as seen from the side, is a bit twisted. We make the central line off the ellipse at an angle, then using that central line as a reference, we draw on the lips for the bleed. It doesn't ellipse because of this viewing angle, as you can see above. Next, we will make an outer lips for the outer circle. Follow the line of the inner lips with a slight gap to create the outer lips. Now we will add the cake and the cupcake Perspectively. When we see the rectangular cakes, lies the side closer to us. We need to be bigger on the side. Further away will be smaller in size. Hence, using the perspective method, draw the Q board structure off the cake, make sure do not have any shop a juice bird, rather make each edge slightly. Gert. Observe how I'm sketching this cake slice with Depart closer to us, bigger on the part behind smaller. Then behind the cake. We'll draw the cupcake. Make the lines off the cupcake behind. Exercise 2 - Painting Food from Real - Part I: let us start painting our foot. So first I'm going to use Indian gold for the cakes lies on going to start from the left side. So this will be where the light Arabia is. And I'm assuming that my light source is coming from the left side, which would mean that on the right side it would have darker radios and Dr Khan Trust. So I'm going to add the doctor. Go on dressed ale years using burned number. And as you can see, I've added the burned number on the whole, off the right side because that is where the darker Raiders would be. So keep adding more toxic on trust towards the right side on. For that, I have taken sepia. So this is the potion There it is fully blocked from the light because if the light sources from the left side the right side, that face off the gate that we see is where it does not have any light, which is why it would be darker. Then using pain scree at the shadow part for the cakes lies here. We're going toe blend the shadow toe words theory right side because the light source is from the left on. Observe how I've spread out the shadows using water so that there is no hard edges on the shadows. And now for the marshmallows on the top, it's going to have on alternate thing on Dwight Color. So using a very light, don't off Queen Astrodome draws. We will apply the color on top off the marshmallows. But remember that towards the left side it is going to be really light on having right spaces in between on towards the right side, it'll going to be a bit more darker. But again, this darker tone would still be in the lighter area towards the color value, so As you can see, I've applied the queen rose in alternate cylinders that is the alternate marshmallows. And now for the right marshmallows on top, we will add a very light own off pain scared. This is because even though it is right for it to be visually seen on the paper for the somewhat darker areas on the white, we usually use Spain screen. That is a great color to depict that now for the cupcake. I will start with a rapper, and I'm going to use Scarlett for that. So, using Scarlett Onda mix of ammunition red, we can paint the cupcake. Since again the light source is coming from the left side. We believe more highlights or white spaces on the left side. Remember that we have toe form the ships off the apple that is those triangular edges at the top. So be careful when you pain that now, obviously we can't leave it like this, right? We have to keep the contrast. So for that I'm going to use burnt sienna to draw the lines on the wrapper. And, as you can see and adding more color towards the base, this is because this part off the base is where the light is blocked out by the cakes lies in front of it. So at 10 lines using your brush for the lines, all the falls in the wrapper, and now we will add the shadow at the bottom. So again the shadow is going to be towards the right side and using water, we'll spread it out to avoid any dark and just so keep spreading out. But now we need to add a bit more towards the exact base. To make it darker, add more doctor. Go on. Trust the words the bottom right part off the key. This is because that is the part where the light is blocked by the cake slice in front of fit, so the bottom right part off the cupcake will have darker contrast. Areas give more shape to the cakes lights by adding some darker lines using burned number or Bonzi enough then for the marshmallows. We have to know. Give the darker shades so we will use Queen Rose. Off it on. Draw these lines on and add the doctors cheat towards the right side. This is the part which is blocked from the light source, which is on the left side. So I will keep adding those brown's towards the right side. No, for the tiny part off the original cupcake, with a scene inside the rapper and beneath the frosting. So I'm adding that with burned number once the first layer off the pain that we applied on the rapper has right, we will add one more layer on top off it. That is, add few lines to show, though fools on the wrapper. So I'm going to be using a mix off the nation. Read on a bit off burned number. Don't get a kind off a mix of brown and red color, and using that, I'm drawing these lines and also along the edges of the rapper. Now we will add those chocolate linings on top off the cake slice, so using your smaller size brush or the tip off your brush. Draw these lines on the paper, but remember that it has to follow along the cylindrical shape that is when it is at the side. It would be hanging down on the side of the cake, but on the top it would follow the cylindrical shape so you can see that I'm making the small arcs on top of the cylindrical shape. It is because the icing is on top of that so big these small lines for the chocolate on the cakes lies you can make the right side off the cakes lies a bit more darker if you feel that your color has faded after it has tried. So I'm adding a bit more color onto it on also towards the shadows, because I feel that it has faded onto the paper. But obviously I have added water again to make it spread out on to prevent the dark. And just I have made the cupcake part of bit more darker using bond, amber and sepia. Now we will add small dots for the cupcake Sprinkles that pays for the toppings. So using Queen Rose, I will add the's small, tiny dots on top off the frosting to depict their Sprinkles on the cupcakes. You can also use splattering method if you want. I usually prefer to use board the methods, so some using the tip off my brush on then using the splattering method. 14. Exercise 2 - Painting Food from Real - Part II: Now let us add the final details. Andrada plate on our pending. So we didn't do sketch along the lines off the inner lives. Then, as we can see from the image there is that deep inside the plate, which is with So we will are that with pain scream, then sketching along the lines off the plate on adding that dip inside the plate on the left side so you can see that that dip towards the inside of the plate s visible only on the left side, on slightly on the right side. So what? That is what we even make on, then the outer line. We have to be very careful than we are painting this, use the tip off the brush and carefully draw along the line of the ellipse that we have made. Then we will paint inside that line that we have made for the dip towards the inside off the plate. This is because we want that area to be darker so that we make it visible that it is our dipped towards the inside of the plate. And I'm just going to add some finally deals onto that marshmallow. After that, I will start adding more color onto the plate because for me, when I'm doing food illustrations, I love toe. Add a bit more different types of color onto my painting so that it looks more attractive. So I will not be going through the exact design that is on the plate, but rather I will add colors of my own. So I have added a bit off Indian gold or Rosina onto it so you can use either of these colors Indian gold or raw sienna and then for the outer lips off the plate. I have added a very lighter tone off pain scream. You have to be careful that it is a very lighter don't off pains great that we are adding onto the plate. We do not want it to be darker because anyways, to plate is somewhat fight. But we will have darker shadows towards the right, which is why I'm adding a bit darker tone towards the right side. But be careful that it shouldn't be really dark. Now. Let us add the shadows for the plead when I'm doing food illustrations on painting the shadow. I love to use a color which gives it a very nice contrast or makes it visually appealing, which is why I have used as your blue from white nights over here. This is the most exciting part when I'm doing the food illustrations the shadows so you can use any color that you want for the shadows, whichever color that you think is going to make it visually appealing for your eyes so you can use green, ping or red or whatever color you want for the shadows I have used as your blue. That's it for painting the shadows for this plate. I have just added the blue color along the lines of my lips towards the right side because , as I said earlier in my assumptions, the light source is coming from the left side and we have made everything on the left side lighter on towards the right side, darker. So obviously the shadow will be darker towards the right side, which is why I have been did with the blue on the right side on then, as I have explained earlier, right, we need the blade where the shadow will be the most darkest. We have to give a darker dole, which is what I'm adding right now, you can keep giving more color to your painting if you feel that it has faded away after a while. So I'm adding better off pain straight to my plate on just making it more elliptical on correcting any mistakes that I have made. And now, finally, the highlights. So for the highlights, everything towards the left salad will be lighter. So for the chocolate drippings, the words the left side, we will add it with the white line so that it makes it visually appealing. So all over the chocolate drippings towards the left side, that is the left side off the brown that we have used. People are white. This white highlights is what will give our pending a depth on make it look real off the that I'm adding all the highlights towards the left side where the light sources from on where it will be brightest. But for the spots on the cupcake, you can add some tiny spots at random Jesus so that it makes it attractive. As I have said before, there is no specifications as to how you should apply the highlights, except for by looking at the light source on. Also, this is the time where we can correct any mistakes that we have made while painting. For example, E while you were drawing the outline off the plate, it spend outside or made some men's. You can correct that with the white men like I'm doing right now, and that's it. Our painting is done. 15. Project 1 - Painting from Pic - Chocolate Shake: let us to our first painting from the picture. So this is the picture that I'm going to be using for my first class project. As you can see, we can see the light effects on this picture. So see there the highlights are the white spots. So for this picture, it is going to be easy to add the highlights as we can clearly see where the white spots are all of these on. As you can see, the right side is darker because the light sources from the left side Now let us stop sketching. So first I have drawn the symmetry line Onda. As usual, I will add the elliptical dream. But since there is the ice cream on the top, we cannot clearly see the other side, then drawing the shape off the glass that there's symmetrical onboard the sites just like we learned, then adding the stem to the glass. If it is difficult for you to draw it exactly as you see it, you can draw grid lines on the paper on. Follow through the great lines to see what is in each of the greats. And now for the top part where there is the ice cream, we will leave it white on. Add some shades electoral, but people at the chocolate syrup on top off that, using the chocolate color on De Rossi an up or you can also use Indian gold. But as you can see, there is some tiny green gala, which is why I have added a very little tart off green onto that, I keep on adding narco sheets if I feel that it's becoming lighter after a while because your paper absorbs the paint. Now let us pains the biscuit, so I'm using a doctor to one off sepia, or you can also use in kind of dark brown band. I. K. Brown can be suitable for this playing to the whole off the biscuit. With this color on the texture on it, we will add it. Lead Iran when the first layer on this brisket asteroid. Now for the darker brown shades on the top off the ice cream. This is basically these Pringles owned up off the ice cream. They look like chocolate Sprinkles, right? So we will at that with a different shade of brown. You can use band number. Then, using a lighter tone off, burned on bourbon will draw inside the glass. As you can see, that is a bit lighter, so use a lighter tone for that Onda. As you can see, there is, ah, darker chocolate inside the glass, so we will leave some dining space for that on. Also, I have left some white spaces for the highlights. So this is just basically drawing exactly as you see in the picture. So at the brown shades, wherever you see them on, make the shapes exactly as you see them. But obviously because this is our drink on, it can form any different shape. You can change it so it doesn't have to be exactly as you see in the picture. If you don't want it to be, it's all what you want. So let us add a docker dawn. I'm musings. Appear here to add the doctor. Don't in that corner and I'm blending it on Doomed the burned amber. Now let us use sepia onda at the darker chocolate at the bottom off the class. So, as you can see, there are some changes that I have made because it doesn't look exactly the same. I'm now going to use being screened for the eight years off the glass. That is for showing me thickness off the glass, and I'm going to shift to our detailer regard brush. This is a recognition size. Do I am using this because it has got appointed step. Andi will aid me in drawing the lines that is along the borders of my sketch so that I do not make any mistakes. You can use our detailer brush, such as a size zero or size one brush. For this all, you can use the tip off a normal brush on use it very carefully, as you can see a marking the shapes on the stem off the glass using paid straight on, drawing the darker lines. So we have to do this carefully, then moving on to the top. Be careful that we do not go outside our sketch, so this has to be done very carefully. Andi. Along the line off the glass. No, you can add that on top off the pain, scree using a wrong number or a bit off burned amber. So as you can see, I have applied the brown color on top off the pain screen. Now we will draw the stick inside the glass. So, as you can see, if you observe closely, the stick kind off merges into the apple. That is, There is no clear distinction between the apple on the stick. So which is why we have to add some off that brown color onto the skin of the apples that it looks blended together. So, as you can see, I'm blending it onto the apple. Now we will add The detail in part, won't do the TV. So there are some small dots on tiny details on the Gibby, which we will add with pain, stree or sepia, or you can use a mix of goat. Now we will draw the top ocean off the stick, this kind of bend to form a loop or a ribbon kind. So for that I have used, Brown continues, Initiate a frown for this. There is no particular shade that we have to use. I have had a darker brown towards the right side, off the loop as well as seen in the picture. Now let us add some control splatters into the first layer or far cocktail. So for that I'm going to take some brown paint on my brush on going to splatter. And as you can see, I have exposed only the area that I wonder, splatters to be uncovered, the rest of it in tissue. So when I removed the tissue, you can see that I have got splatters in only the eight years that I want. Once that is done, you can go ahead and use your fight, Ben or white pain to add the highlights. Add all the highlights visible on the glass with your pen. Andi Also certain lines on the stem off the glass on along the rim, Onda on the strawberry towards the right side. We have already left white, but the words the left side. There is a few spots here and there, which is what you're adding right now. Theo Sender off the key is the lightest part, so make it lighter than the rest of the parts off the TV. Now for the background, you can see that it is blue in color on since I had been did the stem part with the blue reflected areas we will give blue color itself, but I would not be painting the whole of the background. That is my whole of the sketchbook with blue, but rather I'm going to make a random shape, so the shape is totally random. Don't be worried about the shape. Just make any shape you want. You can clearly see that there is no order or any particular shape that I'm making. This is just straight out of my mind. When you're bending next to the glass, we have to be very careful along the lines of the glass because just imagine if the blue accidentally touches the low color, it might turn into a dream. So we have to be very careful along the borders. Then I will also add DACA radios to my background color, so I will take more off ultimate in blue in a darker tone on add it. You can also see this in the reference picture where at the bottom you can see that it has got a darker shade, which looks like indigo. So we've allowed into go Israel. So I have now added the shadow for the glass. Andi, as you can see at the bottom, I'm adding indigo on blending it with the ultra marine blue. You can also use that arm a technique for this if you prefer that. And finally, some splatters when I'm doing for illustrations. I prefer to add some splatters at the bottom or the world's decide, because I kind of feel that it gives a mood to my painting, which is why I love to add splatters so adding scatters at the end, and that's it, Uh. 17. Project 3 - Painting from Pic - Waffle Part I: Welcome back, everyone. This is the third class project where we will be painting this powerful with some fruit toppings, which is on a ceramic plate. So let us first sketch the plate. I'm using this large around plate for sketching that this is because the normals are goaless. That come wasn't enough. So, as you can see for the inner circle off the ceramic plate, amusingly normal secular ruler, so make to concentrate circles for the plate. Andi, using the inner circle as reference, we will draw the vessel. It is basically a rectangular shape. The only thing we have to be careful about is that we don't want sharp corners. So when you're making rectangle at the corners, make Ben's rather than sharp corners on. You can use ruler for this. Don't worry. Then make another rectangular shape inside the rectangle so that we get the sheep off the battle right. As you can see, there's a rectangular inside one status done. We will start adding rules and columns into our vessel. We've been first at the rows and columns because thes rows and columns are what will guide us to draw the fruit toppings on that you don't have to make the rows and columns in the exact number as it is on the picture. But eventually it will help. If you actually do so double each of the lines, that is, we have to make small squares, which is why we're doing this. And once we have doubled up each of the squares, we can use them as reference to draw the fruit toppings on our ruffle so roughly we can see that it is on the second row. So that is where we will add the fruits. This is why I said that the rows and columns need to be added first. Then, using those guidelines, we can add the each of the fruits that is the blueberries on the strawberry on top of the vassal. Once you have finished adding, all the fruits began drop off the lines off the rules and governments visible through the fruits or the Berries. So that's our sketch done. Now we will start painting. We even start with the strawberries. So for that I have let my strong freeze first, I'm going to take Scarlett paint. So this is Scarlett Onda. Apply it all over the strawberry bet on a bet gives the kind of right texture that you need because it would not give any dark edges on the paint will spread to for a lighter version off the color that you picked up on. Once the strawberries are done, we'll start with the blueberries. So for that it is basically the same procedure applying water first and then Now the color to be used is blueberry from art Philosophical. But don't worry. If you don't have blueberry, you can use a mix off into go on ultramarine blue, so it should be around 70% into go on 30% ultra marine blue, and you will get this color. Also, it depends on the shades soft indigo that you have. Mostly, you should be able to achieve the right color with that, so the process is exactly the same. Applying water first and then applying the blueberry color on top off that on, then adding the darkest areas. The darkest areas can be obtained by looking at the reference picture, and so let us observe the reference picture on. You can see that there are some spaces are spots which are visible as pride on the blueberries. So these are the highlight areas on the other. Aliens are darker. So this is what I'm talking about. The lighter and the Dockery areas rich people, poor tree in our painting, paint all the blueberries in a similar manner. I am going to speed up the video a bit over here because the process is fairly the same on Do you congest? Just do it yourselves, I'm sure of that. Painting the blueberries and the strawberries is really easy. One. To understand the process. So I repeat again, it's just basically applying water home. Do the strawberry or the blueberry inside our sketch and then taking the paint and applying onto it. So you can use a darker brown for this and I k brown sepia burned number or any darker brown shade that you have for this on. Start applying onto the eight years between the valleys where the darker shadows will be visible, - I have split out painting off this valuable into two separate lessons. This is the first lesson which focused on painting the background or the first layer on. The second lesson that is the next lesson will focus on painting the final de deals. Let's move on to the next lesson, which will focus on adding the details onto the Berries. Andi UFO. 18. Project 4 - Painting from Pic - Waffle Part II: Welcome back, guys. Only this part define anti details owned war after painting. For that, I'm going to use a darker tone off Indian gold, the darker tone off the gala that we used for our raffle. So first we will start with the depressions on the rappel that is thes squares that are visible for that. I'll tell you how to do it. We have to make a square. And then on the right side, people add a bit off color and then with your brush, taking some water blended towards that side. So as you can see what I'm doing, draw the square, apply pain towards the right side, then blended towards the right side. Isn't that easy, guys, the step is simple. We will draw the square using the tip off our brush and then apply some being too. It's the right side on. Then blend in towards the left. So this is basically it. How we're going to paint all the squares in tight developable on day. One thing we have to remember is that some off the squares are massed out by the Berries on the top, so they might not be visible as a whole. But remember that we have thes sketching lines underneath on Beacon, just the one top off that. So, as you can see for the second rule, the whole off the squares are not visible but rather only part of it. So that's what we will make. The process is fairly simple. We will repeat the same procedure for the whole of the raffle for painting. All the depressions are the squares on the vessel so that the U profligate we'll get the shape. - Now . If we look closely at the reference picture, we can see that some off the squares off the battle has chocolate syrup on it. So that is what even pains right now using banned number. Or you can use a darker shade of brown for this, such as Van Dyke, a brown or brown from art philosophy ical. Observe carefully, which are the squares that are having this brown color. Andi pained on that? This is why I said that this painting is fairly easy. This is because the vata can be separated into rows and columns. Onda. For that, I'm going to use burn number. Andi. I'm going to make the chocolate sort of own to the plate exactly as it is seen on the reference picture. So using the tip off your brush sketched the shape off the chocolate sort of on the bleed on. Try to make it exactly like that, but don't worry if it does not exactly like that. This is just basically the chocolates butter syrup. Sorry, which has spread to the plate so it doesn't actually matter if you don't do it exactly as it is in the picture. But just try to do it as if it has spread from the left side due to the right side. That's it, Then apply on top off the corner off the battle. Israel. So add that extra layer off the vessel that is Thiebaud, um, part using Indian gold on the mix of burns una or brown, so that part should be very lighter. As you can see from the reference picture on draw the darker sheets at the bottom part off the baffled. Wherever you see there are darker golden parts, then continue on adding the chocolate syrup on the plate on the left portion that is on the left side of the plate. - Then let us at the details on do the blue bodies. So if you look closely at the blueberries, you can see the dark spots at the stem waas. So using a very darker tone off blueberry or indigo, maybe in total shapes on top, off the blueberries. So it is just some few round shapes on the blueberries on day may not be exactly at the same position in all the blueberries, some might be turned site fees, and some might be underneath, so we won't be able to see them keep adding all the details to the blueberries. And then once that is done, we will start adding the details. Do the strawberries. So for that we will use a darker dune off Scarlett or red. What I'm going to do is basically I'm going to draw. Some small circles are small, random shapes on top, off the strawberries that we painted earlier, but the base layer. So as you can see, I'm making the smaller circles on the East robbery. And once that is done, I'm going to take some water on my brush and blended evenly on the top so that it doesn't form very much darker edges or darker shapes. I just wanted to be visible, very likely, which is why I'm doing that. So pain the texture on the strawberries and then just spread it out with the baby. And that's what we will be doing. Repeat this procedure. For all of the strawberries, adding details onto a painting is the most time consuming part, so we have to power through it. But then it is those details that would give life to our paintings because otherwise it looks really flat on, doesn't have any texture or information on the painting, so always we have to focus on the details on put a lot of effort and time into it. Then we will start adding a bit of shadow toe the left side because there is a bit of shadow on the left side. As you can see in the reference picture on, the alliance is coming from the right side, which is why the right side of the raffle was pride. So using being three in between the brown shades off, chocolate syrup at degree, forming a random shape, then taking water will blend out. The outside that is will spread the pain, just like we learned in the techniques lesson for the shadows. So, as you can see, I have blended up the shadows evenly on it. Doesn't have any dark edges now and then we have to draw the border off the plate. So looking at the picture, we can see that there is a gray or silver lining for the plate, which is what we're doing right now. We have to be very careful with this part on. Take your time in doing this because if we make a mistake on it doesn't follow the circle off the sketch that we have made. Then it is going to lose the shape that ISS is going to lose the circular shape. So which is where we have to be really careful. But if we do make mistakes, we can correct them with white wash or right watercolors later on. Now I want to add more highlights onto my blueberries, as you can see when we look at the reference picture. There are areas that are really white, so for those areas, I'm going to use white water colors. So these are not good wash or acrylic marker and is using white 40 colors and drawing on top off the existing banged. So all those areas that you see have white spots on them. We've been paying to using white water colors on top off the blue breeze on the we're full keep adding the white highlights and also the right spots on the strawberries. - And lastly, we can add a tiny bit of shadow onto the top part off the raffle. For that use a very light, a tool off being screened on. Just spread it onto the plate. Now look at that baffle. I'm hungry already, and it looks so tasty, doesn't it? 19.
